•Apr 9, 2026about 2 months agoSummary
The Fantasy Footballers discuss Keep/Trade/Cut decisions across multiple positions and player tiers, analyzing trade value for mid-season performers and ranking top prospects. They debate running backs (Gentie vs. Hampton), wide receivers (Wilson, McConkey, Abuqa), tight ends (LaPorta, Kraft, Fannin), and quarterbacks heading into the 2025 season.
Insights
- Mid-tier tight ends (TE2-TE12 range) offer minimal fantasy differentiation; only elite options like Bowers and McBride justify early capital allocation
- Injury recovery timelines significantly impact draft positioning—ACL injuries (Kraft) create wider outcome ranges than meniscus injuries (Neighbors)
- Roster construction requires calculated risk-taking on high-upside, low-certainty players rather than exclusively safe, known commodities
- Offensive line improvements and coaching changes (Harbaugh, McDaniel) can dramatically shift positional pecking orders and target distribution
- Contract year dynamics and holdout risks (Etienne, Rice) create trading opportunities for teams willing to navigate uncertainty
Trends
Rookie QB performance correlation with offensive line health and pass-catching weapon availability becoming more predictive than draft pedigreeRunning back committee approaches (Chargers, Raiders) reducing bellcow opportunity scarcity and forcing positional value reassessmentWide receiver target consolidation around elite QB-receiver pairings (Mahomes-Rice, Herbert-Wilson) creating two-tier valuation modelTight end position bifurcation into elite tier (Bowers, McBride) and punt-the-position strategy gaining traction in draft strategyInjury recovery transparency (social media updates, practice reports) accelerating market repricing before official return timelinesContract negotiation leverage shifting toward players in final deal years, creating mid-season trade volatilityCoaching staff continuity (Andy Reid, Mike McDaniel retention) becoming primary variable in offensive efficiency projections

Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers podcast with your host Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Oh, welcome in. He's back. Oh, look at that smile. I don't know what all this. That's a million dollar smile. What all these rumors were about? Reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated. Nothing was wrong. You guys just mixed up the recording time. Oh, our bad. That's on us. I have no problems by way of this one was much faster than the last one. You guys don't you don't eat bolts because don't eat nuts and bolts. No, no, I saw a real the other day of a guy who eats couches. It could be me. Wow. Yeah, I don't know man. Too soft. I can still get your teeth. I just yeah. I mean, this is a hideaway. So many problems that you could have is your thing. Right. That's not and they don't have to be like like you could have just I don't know massive foot fungus issues. You probably do. Oh man. And you wouldn't know. I get to put a shoe over it for the podcast. That's not a big deal. Now we warps all over my life. I mean littered with boy. Maybe I do. Maybe I don't. No, I have to have my thing be some sort of genetically misengineered teeth. Why do they keep breaking the bolts? I'm too intense. That's what it is. And to be fair to you, not at all to your teeth. No, the taco you were eating was a soft taco. It was a soft taco and it was my front tooth. Oh man. I thought it was really genuinely too big of you. It was big of you to your profile on you put it on X. I think you put it on Instagram. Very funny. It was so funny and you just put it out there for the whole world to see. Yeah. Well we put it out. I watched the show. You start the show and you guys just start laughing to yourselves profusely and then one thing leads to another. I'm like I got to get out ahead of this. What we need to do is get out ahead of the next time and figure out what we there will be a next time. Sure will. We need a days since Andy's. Yes. Right now it's zero. This could go on the screens. Yeah. Look it took it just four hours in a dental chair and I'm back. No big deal. We're glad to have you back. Oh my gosh. It was so ridiculous. It was moments before we were going to record too. I just couldn't. I thought about I just couldn't do it. I just couldn't come in here and host the show. Oh I would have to look at it the whole time. You get access to the ultimate draft kit in the dynasty pass if you're an ultimate member and if you want to support this show now what going into our what season is this will be season 12 season 12 still independent fully independent and we appreciate you guys supporting the podcast. Join the foot.com for that our quick question. I've actually seen a lot. These questions come up frequently like what normally the word like this what would you ask for if you if someone wanted the one oh one in the rookie draft from you. First of all that is a very difficult question to answer generically for all leagues because you don't know what players are on other teams. I can't tell you a combination of players which oftentimes that's more what it would be. Two really good vets or a star and a younger prospect or something like that. You know my my answer to the question to give like a value a lay of the land on value if I am looking to unload the one oh one which is Jeremiah love like so if I'm looking to get rid of Jeremiah love in a dynasty league then I would want to get a young stud wide receiver plus because I think right now especially as you get close to the draft and people get hotter and bother their like so Drake London and a twenty seven first the twenty seven draft class is great. I would do that deal. I would I would be willing to you know say there you go. I feel I feel like just to kind of I mean that that would be an easy yes for me. I guess I'm surprised that like is it is there not a world where you would rather have Drake London than the one oh one. I know you're going for value. I understand that but like yes so that trade was coming your way and your depth that both positions not with me and easy argument for that. In fact the easiest way to think about this is in a startup draft. Where would you draft those guys and I would take Drake London ahead of ahead of Jeremiah love simply because of the position a young wide receiver. I think he's twenty four years old still versus a running back to be clear. I don't think you read the whole quick question but the the example was to ask for a shoot for the moon trade. Yeah. So obviously Drake London and the twenty seven first a lot. That's a lot. That is shooting for the moon but there will be managers in leagues that would be willing to do that. They're they're running back needy and they're going to say I'm going to get the next Bijon the next Gibbs the next you know superstar young running back that is a foundational piece. There's just not a lot of them in the league. We pretty much know this is going to be one. Yeah we I kind of jumped in too quick. Steve had written in and just asked about being on a competitive team what would be a shoot for the moon type trade to float to league mates. You want to get somebody that helps you right now. It could take time for Jeremiah love to get going depending on where the draft destination is. You get the extra pick. Would you trade Mike would you trade the one on one in this year's draft. I'll Jeremiah love for Garrett Wilson and a twenty twenty seven first round pick. Garrett Wilson is so tough. He will be turning twenty six this year. I brought him up on this week's dynasty podcast because like I'm I am the Garrett Wilson guy and even I forgot how good it was like before. So he played his first six weeks and he got hurt in week six but it's like I brought up weeks one through five last year. Garrett Wilson was the wide receiver five at that time before getting hurt and once he got hurt they completely shut him down. So even with as terrible as it was for the New York Jets and for Garrett Wilson. The he was absolutely balling out. I've lean. I think Garrett Wilson I would I'd rather have him in the pick. If you're just talking to one for one I would I think I'm going to go Jeremiah love like Garrett Wilson I was reading through our startup rankings and I got to Garrett Wilson before I thought OK if I'm in a startup I might take Jeremiah love over him. And the next name on the list which is a J interesting for our conversation on the dynasty pod is Rishi Rice. Yeah. Like if I have Rishi Rice we discussed on dynasty pod of he's in. Is he in the contract year. He's in the contract years an unrestricted free agent because he was on a first round pick. This is his fourth season. He's asking for big time money. I could see him not showing up that more directly. Yeah. He said he's looking for JSN money which you're not going to get that guy. You're not that guy. That's what he wants which means you could end up in some holdout situation. But Rishi Rice from a dynasty perspective is the widest range of outcomes player possible because there is the reality where they resign. Rishi Rice to a large big time deal a wide receiver one deal could happen. That could absolutely happen if that happens. Rishi Rice is a top five dynasty wide receiver tied to Patrick Mahomes. You know you can't look at season totals because he's usually suspended for half of the year and that comes with that risk. But on a per game basis I mean when he was playing last year with he was like the wide receiver three on a per game basis he's he's outstanding. He's young. So that would be one of the best assets in dynasty. You got to kind of got to call your shot because the other option that could happen is at the number nine pick in the NFL draft. Yep. They take the number one wide receiver if Carnell Tate falls to him or if they you know Mackay lemon Peter Schrager just had them taking Jordan Tyson at nine and that in his mock that was the first wide receiver off the board. Yes. If that happens that can easily be seen as a replacement like we can't afford to pay Rishi Rice with Patrick Mahomes with Chris Jones. To. Or we don't want to with the headache. We're going to draft a replacement. We'll have two great wide receivers this year and we'll let Rishi Rice go get a monstrous contract in the off season giving us a pen story picks. And when Rishi Rice goes to another team that isn't Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reed and the little gadgety utilizing him perfectly he's like is he a wide receiver to he's not going to go out there. Yeah. I mean so he's one of those guys where I'm he's on my main dynasty roster and I'm like should I be trying to get out because I see a lot on on Twitter right now of like now that the suspension is is lifted and we know he's he's free to play. He's way under value. You should go trade for him right now. And I'm still like I mean I could see that. It's the range of outcomes that's so tantalizing and terrifying for Rishi Rice. I mean he could literally like you just said if he is the guy and gets a contract he's he's a top five wide receiver. He still carries risk. But yes on field there will be very little risks. So like wide receiver wise who would you you know who would you take first Jeremiah Love or this wide receiver startup. So it's just you know you know the value. So we'll go Malik neighbors neighbors. OK. OK. London. Yeah. London. OK. I think it gets a little more difficult here. Teterola McMillan. That was the name I knew I would take Teterola and I would take as well. Nico. That's right. Nico's 27 years old. Yeah that's right. Yep. OK. George. I would I would take love. You take love. OK. And then so you'd probably take love over Garrett Wilson. Correct. OK. So it's right around that wide receiver 10 range that you're you're a little bit more interested in love. Yeah. Where the value proposition swaps. Yeah. I mean that that's where I think trading for one of those value switch proposition players like a Garrett Wilson who I would take love above but Gary Wilson plus a 27 first in a great draft class that would be utilizing the one on one well. All right. Let's get into some news. News and notes from around the league. The Texans have picked up the fifth year option on their quarterback CJ Stroud. The recently heavily maligned CJ Stroud. Well Johnson as well. Less less maligned. Just come on Stroud. Come on buddy. When the when the defense is back. Yeah. Getting tanked out back. Mm hmm. I mean OK. I mean he was much better with think. Yeah I mean he was just much better. Yeah that's fair before. You know I think when you have a defense as good as they do the pressure is going to be squarely on his shoulders. Can he handle it. I don't know. We're going to be talking about our top 15 running backs and wide receivers on next week's episodes. This guy is in the top 15. Devon H.N. did not report to the first day of voluntary offseason workouts. He is in the final year of his rookie deal. If if I were to be Devon H.N. for a moment and I had seen the entire offseason of we're building everything around you and he's one of the key. Huh. Tent post of the team. I'd be like give me that money. Yeah. I'm not with my money. Yeah I'm not paid like a foundational player right now. Yeah this is not some proclamations about how great. Yeah he is and then no. There were also rumors though that they might trade him as well and considering they've traded everyone else and dismantled their team. I don't know that they want to pay for a running back on a second contract when you are a complete tear down to the nubs rebuild. So I don't blame him for you know trying to get that money not showing up to the voluntary portion of offseason programs. This is not a big deal. But big deals always start with this. So it's a it's a just pay attention to monitor. I think it could end up in a place where we're much happier where a Chan can navigate himself a better deal. Yeah. And you know we didn't expect like we thought James Cook might have a hard time getting a deal. James Cook got himself a deal. I look at a Chan in the same breath if not better. I've got him ranked very high. I think the highest of the three of us in terms of my top 15. He's just a machine. He's just that good. Yeah. Stay tuned to Tuesday to find out where. That sounded like a threat. It's like or else or else. Or else we won't tell you where we have him ranked. Kyle Pitts signed the franchise tag will report to OTA's who get paid big money for one more year. John Harbaugh will be monitoring this all offseason unfortunately Malik neighbors won't be on the field until into training camp closer to the season. Mm hmm. It's going to be a while. It was a C.L. It was meniscus. Don't love this. Matthew Betzer injury expert said look for him to return to his you know to return closer to his pre injury level over the back half of the year. This was a place where I know because of this injury I don't have neighbors as high as you guys have. Yeah. I probably have them too high with this new we all have expectations and hopes and we know what the talent level is. It's just his surgery day was October. It's a big recovery. He could make some tremendous progress and we could be ready to see him on the field to start the year. But we'll see. That whole team is just going to be one of the more interesting story lines in fantasy football all year long. What does Jackson Dart look like with the new head coach. Is Malik neighbors going to be back to his old self as Camp Scattaboo the guy. Do they add another big time wide receiver in the draft. I mean that seems to me I love actually going to be drafted. No. No. Don't you just stop saying that. Just stop mentioning to be to be fair. I am usually the one saying there's no way they're going to do that. I'm giving them too much respect. They cannot possibly do that. It will be. No I really don't believe that they will draft Jeremiah love. There's a lot of people saying oh they like them. They might draft them. Why would they possibly do so. I mean are you prepared to turn on Harbaugh and company. Oh yes. OK. All right. I just want to make sure that we're talking like this. When actions show up there must be a reaction. For sure. OK. Good. Back will be turned. Did you see all the news about like how about you've been warned. The Isaiah likely utilization and expectations for his stats and things like that. Those comments from I don't know if you guys had brought it up on the show. I mean no for no reason. But no there was some conversation about just likely and him putting up the stats that fantasy players want to see. Oh. So. Oh again another exciting storyline on this on this to John Harbaugh know he had Isaiah likely on his team. Yeah he did. And you know what. It's been multiple years. In fact. I've been. You want to know what's been said for the last three years. Oh no. Is it the Rashad Bateman stuff. No it's the Isaiah likely stuff. Isaiah likely is going to be a pro. He did say that. Like this is going to be so involved. I've been holding on to Isaiah likely on my dynasty team waiting for that. I'm gonna. Gonna be. Oh. Gonna be. This is what we're waiting for. We're all trying to find the guy who's. Gonna do this. Theo Johnson breakout year coming. That's all that means. Oh man. We'll take a break. We'll get into some Keep Trade Cut. All right guys let's have some more fun conversations and dive right in. Keep trade cut. All right time for some more strong opinions. We're going to play some Keep Trade Cut. Some different categories for these discussions. A lot of these are dealing with positions and players that we are in the midst of ranking for next week shows as well. So maybe some opinions will be shared a little bit early right now. Let's start with three names at the running back position all top 15 picks in redraft leagues. Keep trade cut. Ashton Gentie of the Las Vegas Raiders. Devon Achan of the Miami Dolphins and Omari and Hampton of the Los Angeles Chargers. Oh man. And this is for just redraft just this season who scores the most fantasy points. Yep. I you guys had your top 15 running backs. The keep is easy before it's a chance. Yes. The keep is agreed. Yes we are all agreed there. Yeah. Achan is he's one of a handful of guys that I think are in conversation for that top five like to finish. I mean could Achan finish number one. Probably not on the dolphins but I mean he has the talent the pass catching ability. It's not impossible to me. I yeah I would say I wouldn't put it at zero percent. I don't know if we would say yes to the Gentie Hampton potential. Ashton Gentie Omari and Hampton I believe both of you had them back to back in your top 15. I do. I do as well in an opposite order. They are not back to back. OK. I misspoke. They are currently two spots apart. You guys both put Hampton first. That is correct. Yeah I. Does that scare you at all. Yeah it does scare me. I mean Gentie is obviously the higher touted player. But if you look at the situations of the two teams I have a lot of high expectations high hopes for the new healthier and improved offensive line for the Chargers better quarterback situation. Just a better offense that Hampton should be a part of. And I think that coming into your two he will be the guy in that backfield. I'm very excited for him. But it's very difficult to say you know the guy who was drafted higher the guy who has less competition currently none in his backfield who's you know going to be very involved in super talented. And I would say the majority of people I mean if you look at rankings in general or or average draft positions Gentie goes ahead of Hampton. So it's a take to say Hampton over Gentie. But I want the offense. I love the offense too. I love the offensive line improvements. I think the difficult thing for me mentally is the fact that you could see the Raiders fundamentally building the entire offense around Gentie. You saw games isolated games from Gentie where he was a fantasy force especially towards the end of the year on a team that was absolute trash. You didn't get to see the sample size of Hampton or the usage of Hampton that make you say he's guaranteed to be the bell cow of this roster. Everything we think logically rational coaching. He's the dude and he's going to get the opportunity. But Harbaugh scares me a little bit. Harbaugh is a win at all costs win by any means necessary. We're going to play the players that we have the most confidence in. And because I didn't get to see Hampton be a three down workhorse for more than a blip maybe one game right one game. And he still got banged up in that game. I feel like that's what puts a little hesitation in there for me where I know I know Gentie is going to be what this offense is all about. Now I mean Kubiak has come out and said he wants to split backfield coaching wise I think it's a wash. I think both guys could go split backfield. Both guys could lean on their star. The thing Gentie has going for him right now is like you can want a 50 50 times share all you all you dream about. But if you don't have another running back worth anything on your roster and they don't you can't do it. So for me I'm a Chan is the key. I'm Gentie is the trade. I'm Hampton is the cut and it makes me do it. You're going to do that too. Yeah it's just that the trade value of Gentie up I still I have Hampton over him right now over Gentie but people people people want to try and really play and keep trade cut. I would trade Gentie because he's going to carry more value than Hampton. So Hampton gets the cut but I would rather have Hampton over. Ashton Gentie is still. The a fun unknown where it's like you know you feel like hey well if Hampton has a great year he's a top 10 guy. If Ashton Gentie puts it together he is they took him what fourth overall for where it fourth or fifth I don't remember wherever for a reason because the dude is electric and he can he can be your offense. But I will you know the probability of when do they switch quarterbacks running backs under rookie quarterbacks. The you know there's just the years of data on that one is I'm going to lean that I want the Justin Herbert. Did we did we talk. Did you guys talk Kirk Cousins. Yes. OK you did. OK. Yeah I mean that that could be Kirk Cousins could be the dude for a good half a year there too. And obviously we're happy. Yeah I think system it's it's a genuinely think for for Brock and for Gentie that Fernando Mendoza senior is great for this team. I think he's going to start the beginning of the season and be very good. And yes I am calling Kirk Cousins the father. I was putting father I was trying to figure. So he's Fernando Mendoza senior. Yes. I. OK I'm with you guys. They do look identical and they act identical. They are holding hands right now skipping and at a difficult and somehow wearing gold chains. I don't know. Yeah I mean there are two peas in which of those three running back scores the most touchdowns. Oh that's a good question. I would take Hampton and on the touchdown front. Yeah I agree with that. Who sees the most total opportunities. That's a chance right. Yes should be. OK. Let's turn the page here. Let's go ahead and hit a second group of Keep Trade Cut and it's it is a perfect group. They all hang out for sure after the way that you're in. And this is wide receivers from 2025 whose seasons ended on a sour note. Keep Trade Cut Garrett Wilson. I tried to come back couldn't. Yeah. Lad McConkey. Woof. That was a let down. Still a great player just not for fantasy the way we would have liked. And then a Mecca Abuqa. Everybody's darling to. Woof as well. I mean this was. To start the year. You're feeling good. Oh you I mean you were feeling like you had the next Justin. About a book. Yeah when you start the second most fancy points all time over his first five games. Let's start this guys because I have to say from week 11 on. A book average three receptions and 33 yards and McConkey average two and a half receptions and 26 yards. That is like from from darlings. I mean McConkey was a monster the year before. Yeah. Saw his target share decline and then both of those guys useless. That's not from like week 15 on. That's 11 on a deletion from your roster. And obviously Garrett Wilson with the injury deleted as well. At least with Lad you were able to bench him. You know what I mean like a Mecca Abuqa at the end of the year you kept going like I gotta play him. I've got he's too good. He's you kept plugging him in the lineup and then he'd go out there and get his three catches to me. The keep is Garrett Wilson. Garrett. Yeah. You're happy with that except Mike Mike is he's so happy but he has he has no microphone. My mute stuck on. My mute. No. Yeah I'm back. We're leaving that in. I sure. All right Mike was muted for a little while because my Josh didn't like what he was saying. Well you know I think let me quote him. He said that's all. That was what you when I took when I when I when I took Garrett Wilson with verbally just now as my keep Mike has odd but because right now Al Borland is on a cruise we are we are with the we're with the backups. Yeah you know what I mean. This is the new referees and so and we actually don't have a B team. Right. We're straight to the C.T. Yeah. You guys are brutal. You think you hit the mute button is that what I have but I let go. You want to let's let's do a test. Michael I think he's terrified. One two one two one. Oh now it doesn't. We're back. Now you know. I know it's not their fault. I'll leave it snort to be sometimes. Look just bar is are we recording. Josh are we recording. Oh that's a great bar. Okay. He is. He said yes. Into a microphone. We are falling apart. We're on the D team. We are. You guys are now the D team. He is sweating. Oh yeah. Well I can see you will knock his teeth out. Oh yeah. I hear. Garrett Wilson lad McConkey. A book. I can tell you right now it is. It is Garrett Wilson as the key for me as well with a. With a. A glance at a book. You can't have. I thought about this on the drive in this morning. And this is all roster construction and philosophical differences between people. But I don't believe you can build a team where you know everything that you have. I just don't think you can do that. I don't think that the best idea. You're saying fantasy football roster. Fantasy football roster construction. You just you can't draft all players. You know what you have. You have to have some risk that it can go either direction like a book or represents tremendous upside. And also you know that it can go sour. To me I feel like we do know what we have in lad McConkey. I do not see this guy. I don't think it's going to change for lad McConkey. He is not going to be your full offense. If anything they're going to do more and more and more to take less to take more off of him. To spread the ball around. I mean the first year he was all that there was. You now drafted Hampton. You have more past catch. Gadsden. And he's just not prototypical. He's not the kind of guy that's going to carry the offense. He's not. But there's a there's a hundred and twenty two targets of Kenan Allen that will not likely be there. It's amazing that we always have Kenan Allen targets to talk about leaving. No matter when. Yeah. It's always because we think he's gone until about 10 minutes before kickoff and he'll sign a contract to be right back. No disrespect to McConkey. He's going to settle in the next five years as the wide receiver 21 to 29. That's what he's going to settle in as in my opinion. If he might take over a game here and there. I don't think he's going to the offense is not being built around him. It can be built around Garrett Wilson. No question it will be. And you have a quarterback now who as much as I hate him he's the best quarterback they've had in a long time. So do you know what's going to take Garrett Wilson. I'm going to hope for the best for a Mecca. And I'm going to cut lad McConkey. Yeah. I completely agree. And to speak to your roster construction point where you can't just take known assets yesterday on yesterday's dynasty podcast. We were talking about when you're trying to trade low for people. You can't. When you think you're trading low for someone who had a down year but the path towards success is just clear and obvious. Like oh OK well this guy was injured his quarterbacks upgraded whatever you're not going to really get to trade low when you want to trade low for someone. It's because I don't know that it gets better. You got to call your shot. And that's when you're in the draft. There's going to be guys once you're after the first three rounds. There's going to be guys in each round that has a wider range of outcomes. You have to take some of those players for Tampa specifically. And there are a handful of other situations like this. When Mike Evans departs you immediately go. Hey it's going to be better for a book. You also need to look at the other past catching options that they have and say hey what do they have in Tess Johnson. What do they have in J.L. McMillan those guys. How can they get better. But a book has got an opportunity. We know that Mike Evans can't sign a contract with them and show backup like you lost Keenan Allen and you lost Mike Evans but Mike Evans is gone. So a book has the opportunity to show that the beginning of the year was not a fluke and the beginning of the year was not. I mean it might have been fluke like touchdowns were really really high but they weren't fluke prior to the season Baker was talking up how good this kid was. There's a reason prior to that they drafted him in the first round prior to that he was great Ohio State. He had a bad stretch run down the second half of last year. He's a quality player. He I think he will almost for sure be the wide receiver one Chris Godwin could be. But a mecca I think is their best one of these guys that won't be three for thirty three ever. Garibalds Garibalds. Yeah I agree with both of you guys. I would disagree of I think there is a a stronger path forward for Mconkey with their offensive line back to health and with Mike McDaniel in there. We don't like how will the targets really shake out for that squad. I think it might get flipped on its head. Yeah I mean I know you were we've we've always I think as a group really believed in Latin Mconkey as a talent. Yeah. Last year I was more out on him and I think it's good for you to speak positive of him. I just want people to know you are the lowest on that's fine but not out loud. Just like not out loud but it gives it right now. It's huge. It's lad is Trey Harris. That's the starting three. Gadsden. Well yeah I'm talking about the wide receiver position just so between those three guys if they don't do anything else I think there's a chance that lad has the most targets in the room. I feel like fantasy value not play style necessarily but fantasy value over the course of the career. Lad Mconkey is a flowers. He can have big games. He can. I love that. Surprisingly was a top 10 wide receiver this last year. Lad was a top 12 wide receivers rookie year but more than likely is going to be just a helpful asset not someone you're that you're winning a championship with because of. That's about how I feel. That's a good call. Let's talk about some tight ends. If you want to talk tight ends tight ends with upside. Oh hell ends with backside. That's not a column. Because of the yams. Because of the yams. Sam LaPorta Tucker Kraft Harold Fannin. I know my cut. It's a port. Yeah. Oh man. I mean oh man we're already here with Sam LaPorta. He was the dynasty tight end one like two years ago off the bridge. Oh my god. My things to remember episode this off season was that middling tight ends absolutely don't matter whether you are the tight end two or the tight end 12 last year. You're saying LaPorta is already middling 100 percent. He's middling. At this point he's he's not going to be the tight end one ever again. He is not a target dominant. When I say middling I basically on that episode was saying that there is there's really two guys now that George Kittle is coming off an ACL. You've got Bowers and McBride. Sorry Achilles even worse Bowers and McBride. And if not then just punt the whole position forever. Now the off season made moves that made it interesting. You have to get someone that can just be like the tight end one. Otherwise they're irrelevant and you had a showing from Tucker Kraft that was worthy of that. And and Harold Fannon is Sam LaPorta was the tight end one. He was the tight end one. But that doesn't mean at this stage I laugh because I thought I was going to go look and see a three or two. He actually was the no I know that was in his. Yeah. But it was with like 11 points. Yeah. It was a real low scoring. He's actually been almost the same point for game production. He's not been the same as year one. But you know he's he's we all agree that he is a he's a trustworthy competent contributor to the offense but not is not going to be Travis Kelsey's chiefs days with Sam LaPorta. Yeah. Tucker Kraft like this is what this is my point that I was bringing up with the OK a book has got an opportunity but McMillan and Tess Johnson these other guys pay attention to him in Green Bay. Everyone wants to see now Matthew Golden can do something finally because Dobs is gone right. The only thing standing in Matthew Golden's way was Romeo Dobs. And then instead there's Tucker Kraft. There's Christian Watson. These are players that might be the bigger beneficiaries because they're proven. Jayden. What's that. Jayden Reed. Yeah. Jayden Reed. Tucker Kraft was on fire last year. Does he come back with the same ferocity because it wasn't isolated amount of games. It was some boom games. Yeah. It's really tough. You could easily make the argument. Tucker Kraft over Harold Fanon if it wasn't for the ACL but coming off of the ACL I know he's running in straight lines jogging in straight lines. I saw the other day his recovery I'm guessing is ahead of schedule. Imagine not be. So to me if I'm going to take a shot in any early rounds middle rounds on a tight end there are there's only three guys I would take a middle round shot on and it would be last year's rookies depending on what middle round is to you. But Harold Fanon Colson Loveland Tyler Warren you can see the path for them becoming absolute dominators and Tucker Kraft ACL gets in the way of that for me. So I would I would keep Harold Fanon trade Tucker Kraft trade Tucker Kraft and cut Sam LaPorta who you just you really despise. I despise middle round tight ends and he is a middle round. He has the definition of a middle round. If you could draft Harold Fanon in the sixth round or Tucker Kraft in the ninth round which one would you take Tucker Kraft. Yeah. If it looks like he's healthy I would take Tucker Kraft like if he's on track for week one would you take Harold Fanon in the sixth round or Sam LaPorta in the eleventh round. Sixth round for Fanon. Probably probably fan. There were rumors today about what Cleveland and Kenyon Sadik. Yes that they did a top 30 visit. That would be such a punch to the face. Yeah I mean it would it would be terrible for both players. Yeah. However since I was dumb like you have so many problems Cleveland. Why I still do this. You already hit on the you hit on your tight end. Yeah I still hesitate a little bit more with Sadik. So if you went to Cleveland I'd be like OK that's that's fine. But for my fan and I like fan. It makes no sense where I mean they would have to I don't know move their pick. I don't know. So we're all in agreement on this order or no. Are you considering keeping Tucker Kraft. I am. You look like a guy considering that. I'm willing to take on more risk. Tucker Kraft in what do we have seven and a half games scored 101 fantasy points. Harold Fanon played. I guess he got injured. So we'll put him at 15 games and 15 games was 150 points. I mean I with a Najoku the first seven weeks not not at the end though for Tucker Kraft. For Tucker Kraft he had the seven the seventh most points of any tight end over the last decade. So that like he was absolutely the reason yeah the issue is he's not going to come back week one and be that same guy off the ACL. How are his yams. His yams are they're fine. They're toasty. They're fine. They're not fan and fan has got a fan. You're saying fan and yams. Harold fan and junior. Harold yams yummy. Goodness gracious. It's so weird because it feels like Tucker Kraft had this big part like he had such a because the story. The breakout was Kool-Aid man came through the brick wall and you were like he was on a prime time game. Crap. I have Tucker Kraft for I got him for free seven for one forty three and two touchdowns and then he gets his ACL torn the next week. Yeah. Just seven weeks of glory. All right. We'll take a break and we'll do a few more. I really want to know which of those tight ends Papa Josh would have kept. You know what I mean. Like which one would you have kept. Can he talk. Yeah I can talk. Dang it. Dang it. Oh it was a setup. Pee. I don't care what you think about those guys. He's so happy. I take it all back. I take it all back. Also can you upgrade him. Yeah you're back to the C team. I mean if you if he can talk and Mike can talk at the same time then he's back to the C team is my new. Yeah OK. All right. We're back. This is B team stuff. Oh man. I am a mid show fix. A mid show. It's a C team. Pretty impressive. Yeah I got you Josh. C plus. I'll go C plus C plus you do you do with love him to flunk him. Oh for sure. You do anything else. I'm moving straight to an F. Detention. The problem with that J. You're insinuating that there's like a B minus team. Yeah you open up a whole. You can't do that. That's fine. I am fine bringing pluses and minuses into this. I am fine with what I show is about nuance. You know. Yeah it is fan fanies. Late round quarterback keep trade cut. Dak. Herbert. Dart. Which. These these this is best ball ADP right now. But Dak. Dak is the QB eight. The people finally woke up. It just like oh hey Dak who when he plays the whole season is always awesome. So let me make a finally allowing that to be the truth. Let me make a comp for Dak and see if you guys disagree with me. There was a period of Ben Ralfersberger's career. Oh yeah where he was perennially never drafted. And you just kind of knew in the right games even for the right stretches he could just like Big Ben I hate to see him across on my opponent's team. Even though Big Ben was like what quarterback 10 every year. I hated to see it because you knew you could just throw six touchdowns that game. He definitely could. There was a there was a couple of years in there where they were throwing a ton but it's just but Dak has literally been great. If he plays all season he's never not been a quarterback one in his entire career which one of these three is coolest. Jackson Dart. Yeah he's pretty drippy. Jackson Dart Herbert's the nerd. Oh for sure. That's pretty cool to be dating like a breeder or something. No no that's that's that's that's someone. Who am I thinking about Madison beer Madison beer. I got close. How does one get a last name of beer. You just got to have a huge of drinking like oh grandpa beer. Like that. Excuse me that's Dr. Beer. Mr. Beer. Come over here. How do you get taken serious when your last name is beer. I don't know man. All right. Jackson. They have to wait till they're 21 to like an error. Can they be a little kid and be like beer before the. It's me Madison. Root beer. Sparella. We are dumb. Dak Herbert Dart I feel like a similar conversation can be had here about do you know what you have. Jackson Dart is the most enigmatic high upside. We don't know what we don't know situation. Herbert has some of that mixed in with Mike McDaniels arrival and the potential for the offense and then Dak it was really really good. I mean George plus CD equals Dak's going to be good. He's more of an injury risk than the other. Well maybe not than the other two guys. Then her the hand art. So so he's got name fatigue then. Yeah I mean it's interesting because there are different play styles here I'm always going to prefer prefer. What. It didn't even sound funny. Did it sound funny to you. Yes but it reminded me of a stupid thing we do when we play pickleball whenever it's four to four. Oh it's free free free free. I said for her and it brought me right back to when we're serving for to fear kind of a Swedish chef. Yeah exactly so anyways now the foot clan knows how to properly score criticizing Josh. Oh this is a plus over here. I'm sorry. Why then listen. I'm sorry. For. Anyways I prefer the mobile rushing quarterback. So even though you know I have always been a Dak stand and I will never stop loving Justin Herbert I would prefer to have Jackson Dart the option of one of these guys finishing as the quarterback one a real true like season winning performance. I need you to rush for 700 yards. I mean if I tell you that neighbors is not himself until week 10. Oh well then Jackson Dart will be the wrong pick. Jackson but what I told you at pick number five they drafted carnal Tate but what if I told you Andy that when you are constructing a fantasy football roster you sometimes need guys you don't know how they could finish. I just feel like you're gonna have to pay you have to pay for that mystery with Dart. He's the cheapest of these three currently. Yeah on underdog right now they are QB 8 9 and 11 but in terms of 80p it's Dak is at 79 and Dart is at 86. So they all go right next to each other. I'll tell you a secret when his boy Cam Scattaboo is healthy and back at camp and when Malik neighbors is running rounds they will not go in this order. I completely. I mean he did. Possible. Dak will tumble. George is absolutely tumble. You want to know why Dak is this high right now. Genuinely. It's because of this time of year and we're getting the paid drafts. It's smarter drafters and they know what that is when when the casuals all come back. Dak has total name fatigue and is he's a guy who can't win playoff games and then I don't care. Yeah I might take Dak when he's the last of the three of them. I mean he did he had a he struggled to end the year if you remember yet a great run and then if you needed him in the last like week 15 16 those were those were tougher but had a nice week 17 against Washington but not really crazy. We need to know what's going on with George because he is like they franchise tagged him. I think he's happy to come back and play. He's not signed. No he isn't. Oh no. Okay. Oh no. Pitz is the one you signed. Yeah. I George is going to take this thing to the limit. Oh he's like I don't have to practice. Yeah. And he is George Pickens. George. Yeah there's George Pickens was I was waiting to be done with your beer. We're talking about but he had George has his own stuff that I mean the Pittsburgh got rid of him for a reason and it's what I honestly have. I have no read. I don't know what the Cowboys are going to do here. I don't know. Will we get a classic Jerry Jones. We wait until training camp. George Pickens still hasn't shown up. Then they finally give him the contract and he's not in shape to play football. Do they trade him. I think that that is still a possibility that could happen. And that's a huge range of outcomes for for just George Pickens the player. If if George is not there then I still like Dak but he but Dak would not be my choice if I knew it was just CD land. So if my answer is probably Dart no matter what but if I know that George is there ready to go I don't mind taking the safety of of Dak Prescott and getting out of the Jackson Dart headbutting everybody member one. Herbert was the quarterback to start the year with a monster 318 in the game and everybody jump. Oh yeah. Nobody would trade him if they had him and then you remember he lost all of his offensive linemen. Yeah. But that's the story. The truth is even though I love Herbert I would I would rather have Dak than Herbert. So it would go Dart Dak Herbert. All right. Yeah. Yeah. I'm kind of like waiting to press the accelerator on Jackson Dart right now. Feel I want to but there are a lot. I mean there's new offense injured weapons draft picks to be had a lot going on there. Last one here. When was the but it's like neighbors got hurt in week four. Jackson Dart started week four was his first start. So yeah. All the hurt on his sideline throw all the great things that Jackson Dart did last year were without a number one wide receiver or turning. He could say oh he turned one Dale Robinson into a number one. I mean Dart was Dart was OK. He wasn't great. 17 17 again. It was pretty good. Yeah. I mean for a rookie without weapons and you know he's going to run. He had the one devastating game in 7 for 13 for 33 years. Yeah. I remember that semi championship round. He had a weak losing performance. Yeah. You did the zero points. Yeah. I know what it was. Yeah. But right before that was 22 and then championship week was 25. Those were playoffs. That's a season losing performance. Yeah. OK. Yeah. Thank you. Isn't that Scats never. Yeah. Oh yeah. He is. He's pretty fair. Stupid. Last one Malik neighbors. Trey McBride Kenneth Walker. Oh I recused myself. These are mid second round picks. Neighbors Trey McBride Kenneth Walker wide receiver tight end running back. You know it's it's hard when you just play key trade cut you're not considering anything other than these names to not want the positional advantage that Trey McBride is going to represent with Jacobi Berset and what he was able to do last year. Neighbors injury unknown Ken Walker. The the sky's the limit. It's also you know he's he's I'm keeping Trey McBride is my answer. I'm going to trade. It's the safe pick. Yeah. He's he's completely 100% safe Trey McBride. Nothing can go wrong for McBride. It can go wrong as in he doesn't get the amount of receptions he'll be fine like he'll still be fine. He'll be a top three guy but yeah I mean he will be 100% will he make a difference. Don't wait goes wrong as he's injured. I mean you had 111 receptions two years ago. You had 126 likes you. I don't even want 26. You give me 111 and you don't if you give him a hundred don't just score two times like you did two years ago. That's fair. He will be fine. McBride is the easy keep for me. I am 100% right there with you. Like I said it's usually been a Brock Bowers Trey McBride and then check out at the position. I feel like I'm trading Ken Walker's hype and then I'm just going to cut the injured dude. That feels bad. I am very curious where these two guys both neighbors and Walker not compared to each other but independently. I'm so curious where they're going to be drafted at the draft. I I think I would prefer to take Walker because I expect neighbors to get off to a slightly slower start due to coming off of the ACL injury. But yeah I mean maybe if the news is good and neighbors is back on the field he's going to have more hype than Walker and be you know a back of the first round pick. Let's have the Walker do all the neighbors won't make it to the do you not do not see a world where Ken Walker is just like they're running back 18 this year. Eight not 18 I would be surprised. Okay. I would not 18 is this old old issues like I with this dude. It could be. Yeah I mean let's just get you know when you all get on the couch. Let's deal with this. What is this his fifth year. Is that right. I'll double check for years on a rookie contract. Yeah that was in the first round. So it'll be your five when you're going into year five and you have been basically disappointed by a player every single year including this year where he was the Super Bowl champion but for fantasy it was a disappointing year where he finally was stayed healthy. I don't blame you for being like not this time not this time Ken isn't it like there's something ironic about a player that you've always had expectations for who's always been deserving of the production and who for four consecutive years has never given it to you to the degree that like it you're just never matched hope. Yeah so then you've got a bunch of new hope on another team but in the back of my mind I'm going well like what shoe drops to make this not work. Right you're saying you have no idea what it's going to be but it will happen to something. Yeah I'm going to I'm going to bet on the money and that contract if you look at when a running back gets a certain level of contract in the offseason they tend to perform well and the fact that he's on Patrick Mahomes Andy Reid team he doesn't have a lot of competition. Obviously he can get injured we know that for sure for sure. Oh gosh all running backs can I would say the if you if so if you go just you know what we're playing this game you keep Kenneth Walker if Kenneth Walker has a great week one everyone believes like the way that fantasy football works with all of this it's going to be months and months of discussing I will be talking about Kent Walker if Walker goes out week one has 80 on the ground has a couple catches and a score everyone will push every chip in and then and he will be are you saying trade him. Well you could I'm saying you could but like you could set them saying Andy could because he's trying to get out. I can't trade I can't trade Walker ever it is it is all of Walker storyline and then it is all of chiefs running back potential storylines and both have never matched up the other than cream hot who it's definitely matched up just hasn't for a while. Well after cream hunt we've been begging for it. Yes that's all I'm saying like cream hunt started the storyline for like cream I would say Jamal Charles started it. Yeah OK shady well ever since cream hunt departed we've been waiting for the next cream. Correct. And that is that is true and then you know Isaiah Pacheco was mixed in there but we also had other guys that were out of the roster. We had the Darwin Thompson's we had the shot Smith's Damian Williams had a flash. I think the truth is if you look at the actual talent that they have had since cream hunt it hasn't been good like I think we had high hopes for his seventh round pick that was like Damian we've had flashes but Clyde Edwards Clyde Edwards a layer they thought that they were drafting that dude but turns out he's not that good he's just really not that good. It wasn't the team letting him down it was him just not being that good if someone is actually talented and above average top 10 type of talent. They have a strong line. I think they will get a lot out of the position. I'm gonna work on this. Yeah I'm gonna do my best. It's gonna take some time and be enemy is back like I think that really matters. Okay is it more important that he's back or that Nagy's gone addition by subtraction is more important that Andy Reed still there. I think they're I think it's a is perfectly balanced. It's the knife. Yes. Yeah it's the Thanos knife balance next week we're going to get into our top 15 running backs and our top 15 wide receivers on the show so that'll be a fun one. Anything any parting words guys anything else you have to I'm excited to talk through the running backs of my receivers next next week.
