On Monday, we do our deep dives into a single case where we go through, you know, the depths of hell to figure out every Reddit theory, every fact, every detail, every interview, and we do the full case deep dive. Then on Thursdays, we do a segment called Headline highlights where we break down everything that's been happening this week in true crime. Unfortunately, this week, there has been so, so, so much going on. I think we, as we were pulling different cases, I think we had a list of up to like 15 at one point, which we'd be here for hours and hours and hours. But there are just, unfortunately, a lot of things happening right now out there. So we're going to get into it. Of course, Amy is back in studio today, joining, co-hosting. Hello, hello. Hello. Hope you're feeling better. Much better. Oh, good, good. I know there's something going around right now. I know a lot of you have said you're sick. Everyone's sick. We got sick. The whole family, like dominoes went down. I mean, it's bad news. It is bad news. So like I said, there's a lot we've got to talk about today. So I really want to just jump right in. We're going to be talking about updates in the Idaho 4 case. We're going to be talking about a case that a lot of you have been asking us to cover, and it is the Haley Busby case. We're also going to be talking about Savannah Guthrie's missing mother, Nancy, a Facebook marketplace murder. I mean, we've got a lot to go over. So I want to start with the Idaho 4 updates. Now, if you listened to the deep dive on Monday, you know a little bit about this. We touched on it a little bit. I was joined by Nancy Grace. I asked her some very pointed questions about her opinions regarding what's going on with that case. But new details have emerged, not only with the autopsy, but also with what apparently happened after the murders took place. Allegations that Brian Koberger staged the scene, that he posed Kaylee and Maddie Mogan in bed. And there has been a lot that has gone down in this case in the last few weeks. So my plan originally was to touch on it on Monday's episode with Nancy and then jump on headline highlights and give you guys more of like a detailed breakdown. but even more is coming up over the last few days. So what I decided to do, since every time I sat down and more information came out, is we are going to do a full extra episode dedicated just to those updates. Because there really is a lot to go over. Not only that, unfortunately, it came out that he stabbed these victims over 150 times, many of which were to their face, scalp, and necks, but also the allegations of the staged scene, possibilities of a second killer, and this theory floating around out there, which a lot of people for a long time have believed that Brian Koberger didn't do this on his own. Now, I think, with this new document and, well, plural documents, I should say, people are even more so believing that in that theory that he didn't act alone. So there's also this whole, like, sexual motive theory floating around. So there is a lot we need to talk about. So I guess what I'm trying to say is go listen to Monday's episode to get a preview of all of that because we do touch on quite a bit of that. And then the deeper dive episode of that is going to be coming soon because there's a lot of information out there. This whole episode would become about Idaho if, you know, I went through all of it. So we're going to just table that for a little bit and do that in a brand new episode. And I'll be curious to know what you guys think when it comes to potential motive and method once we like lay out all of those facts. And if your minds are changing at all, if you're one of the people who thinks that Brian Koberger is either innocent or worked with somebody else, I don't know. There's a lot to go over. But let's move into the next case update before we get into the balance of the episode. Okay, so we have an update on the Luigi Mangione case. A federal judge has officially removed the death penalty option from his case. basically because they dismissed the most serious charges he was facing, which was the weapons and federal murder charges. And those are basically what carries the death penalty. So as soon as those were dropped, that option was off the table as well. However, even without those charges, he's still facing two federal interstate stalking charges. And each of those carry a sentence or possibility of life in prison without the possibility of parole. So prosecutors are hoping that Luigi's trial happens in July of this year. The defense is arguing that the timeline they're looking at is just seems super unrealistic and feels really rushed. So we'll see what happens. And it was most likely an unrelated incident. There is a man arrested for allegedly impersonating an FBI agent just a day before these charges were dropped in what authorities believe was an attempt to break Luigi out of jail. which I'm sorry what like I don't know how they would even think that would work but we'll see if there's more information about that but I was surprised to see this was dropped I know I haven't been following the case much at all so I don't know much about it but um there are a lot of Luigi stans I know that much well I'm wondering if this was kind of what they were leaning on and hoping would happen but I was shocked to read that I know I have no idea um okay so in a new case that is breaking and that we're still gathering a lot of details for. It is a Facebook marketplace sale that turned into murder, which, look, we have heard about this countless times. I don't know how many more times I need to say it. Stop selling shit on Craigslist. Stop selling shit on Facebook marketplace. Don't buy things unless you, like, are going in a group or you have more people with you. It is so incredibly dangerous, and there are so many freaks out there. And once I get into the bones of this case, you'll understand what I mean by, like, some people are just strategically using Facebook Marketplace as a way to commit crimes. So this case takes place in Downers Grove, Illinois, and 30-year-old Eliza Morales was just at home relaxing on a Monday night, specifically on January 26th. She was cooking dinner and somebody knocked at her door. Now, Eliza was five months pregnant. She was also the mom of a two-year-old daughter. So this person who knocked on her door, apparently her husband Gabriel had sold their pickup truck on Facebook marketplace over the weekend. So now it was Monday night and this young man had come over to purchase it. Now the man who showed up was 19-year-old Nidas Ravukas. He lived in Westmont, Illinois. So he came over to buy this truck over the weekend, but apparently he needed to come back on Monday so that he could exchange the license plate and so that he could get the bill of sale. So when he showed up on Monday night, everything seemed relatively normal. Surveillance video showed Eliza greeting him around 5.30 p.m. She handed him a screwdriver so that he could go and switch the plates on the truck, and everything just seemed fine. Seemed like a very, you know, transactional moment. Everything you would expect. He switches the license plate, brings the screwdriver back to Eliza, but then minutes later, this what should have been a normal situation just spiraled into complete chaos and violence. At 5.47 p.m., that same surveillance video showed Eliza in what looked to be a very violent struggle with Nidus. He was trying to push his way into the apartment and she was trying to keep him out. And so it shows them doing this like kind of push-pull motion back and forth. But then, ultimately, it shows him breaking into her apartment and then closing the door behind him. Then, about 10 minutes later, smoke is coming from inside the apartment. Now, at this point, by 6.10 p.m., so what is that, roughly 23 minutes later, firefighters were on the scene. And when they arrived, Nidus was nowhere to be found, but they found Eliza unresponsive inside. She also had multiple stab wounds all over her body. She was treated at the scene for her injuries, but unfortunately, not only did she pass away, but her unborn baby passed away as well. Authorities obviously contacted her husband Gabriel immediately, and they told him what had happened to his wife and his unborn daughter, which you can only imagine not only the heartbreak in that moment, but I would imagine a sense of guilt and responsibility. Not that that is right and not that he should feel guilty, but it's like you were selling your item. You weren't at the house. She came up. Like, I would imagine that's something that you wrestle with, even though it's not his fault. So as they're doing their investigation, shortly after notifying Gabriel and, of course, Eliza being pronounced dead, they showed up at Nita's house and they arrested him. Now, when they questioned him, he wasn't really holding back and he wasn't trying to lie and make up a story. He allegedly told the police that he was angry about the condition that the truck was in. So because of that, he, quote, took his frustration out on Eliza. And I have to say, frustration is a complete understatement because according to court documents, Eliza was stabbed approximately 70 times. And most of those stab wounds were to her head and neck. Which we see that a lot in like these frenzied attacks where it's more of like a rage kill, if you will, where they target the face, the head. Not because sometimes you see that in more of like a personal attack because they want to disfigure them. They don't want to leave them, you know, any sort of beauty behind. Things like that where it's more personal. But in frenzied attacks, you often see this because they want to make sure that the person is dead. And so you target the brain, the face, the injuries where you know that those would be life-threatening and the most critical. And he did that 70 times. Investigators also say that after stabbing Eliza, he allegedly stabbed the family's dog. Which, what a sick freak and monster. Who the hell does that? Thankfully the dog escaped and survived But what I have not been able to find or I should say what I have not been able to verify in my research is I don know where her two daughter was at this time I don know if she was perhaps with the father if she was left unharmed in the house There's different reports and conflicting reports, which is why I haven't really included exactly what that is because we haven't been able to verify it. However, like, thank God that the daughter was unharmed as well, wherever she may have been. Now, after the attack, after the 70 stab wounds against Eliza, he allegedly set fire to the family's apartment, all in an attempt to destroy the evidence. Obviously, he then fled. Trying to destroy the evidence clearly didn't work out for him. The fire department showed up, and then they were on his tail. There's surveillance video. There's all sorts of things that tie him to the scene. So now he's facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder, intentional homicide of an unborn child, armed robbery, aggravated arson, and also a charge of animal cruelty. Prosecutors say that he has fully confessed to this attack, and he even showed officers where he disposed of his bloody clothing and his other items after the attack. Now, as for Eliza, her loved ones, of course, are saying that this was absolutely cruel and senseless, which I'm sure all of us can also agree with. and her family described her as very generous, very devoted to her children, and just pure-hearted. But what's crazier in all of this is this is the second recent deadly incident involving this in-person meetup stemming from Facebook Marketplace. Because get this, in Columbia, Missouri, a 42-year-old Marine veteran named Michael Burke had listed his iPhone 15 Pro on Facebook Marketplace. He then arranged to meet the buyers at his home on January 18th. But instead of a single buyer coming and meeting him to buy the phone, a group of four people, three 18-year-olds and one minor, showed up on Michael's door. And they showed up under the pretense of buying his phone, but allegedly they were planning a robbery the entire time. Now, we don't know what exactly transpired while they were attempting to rob him, but according to court documents, Michael was shot and later died from his injuries at a hospital. In his final moments, which this is just incredibly sad, he not only called 911 and gave police the descriptions of his attackers, but he also texted his mother and his sister saying, I'm dying and I love you. Now, three of the suspects have since been charged with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and with burglary, and the minor who was involved in all of this is facing related charges in juvenile court. And investigators say that the group had allegedly targeted multiple people who were selling phones. and had done similar robberies like this in the past, all before Michael was killed during that robbery. It's also believed that once they would rob them and take the phone, they would go to those vending machines. We used to have them in the mall. I think now they have them in Walmart. You can take your electronics, you feed it to them, and you type what it is, and they give you cash on the spot. So apparently that's what they were doing. They were robbing people of their iPhones, pretending they were going to buy them. Then they would go feed them to these vending machines to get cash. and so I mean how this escalated to murder it's obviously maybe when you're younger you think robbery is okay and that it's not that big of a deal it is a big deal and obviously you can see how it escalates so quickly but that's why I mentioned at the top of this case there is so many different situations that have been happening like that not only with Facebook marketplace but we've seen it with Craigslist we've seen it with all sorts of things even just social media meetups first dates from Tinder or Grindr, Instagram, whatever it may be. So just if you're ever going to buy or sell something, I would suggest never being alone. Always definitely do that with a group and with somebody with you and in a public place because you never know what's going to happen. Definitely don't give them your home address because who's to say they won't just come back and now they know where you live. So I don't know, incredibly scary. That is scary. I feel like, I mean, I've used Facebook Marketplace even recently, but I mean I take what I think are precautions but do you have them meet you at your house well yeah but I don't give them my exact I give them like the cross streets where I can like walk out and like meet them I know let's stop that no I know I don't do it often it's just when I moved what did we used to say when we were kids let's not and say we did okay let's not and say we did okay fair fair just let me know when you're selling something and I'll come over okay well No, I don't want to be killed. I take that back. Just don't sell anything. Okay. Okay. So just last week on a call, someone was asking me like what the most difficult cases are to cover and it's cases like this next one. It's like these just piss me off and they keep happening and somehow I keep covering them. But it basically is just a case that once again feels like it could have potentially been prevented. So this next case involves a 19-year-old named Luis Hernandez and his girlfriend, 20-year-old Griselda Lopez Renconco, who were living with their baby in a small mountainside town in Frisco, Colorado. On December 29th, just after midnight, police responded to what was called in as just a normal medical emergency. It was late at night, right after the holidays, but when police arrived, they noticed they had been there before. Because just a month prior to that, back in November of 2025, Luis was charged with assault and child abuse and had actually posted a $20,000 cash bond to be released. And this time it didn't seem to be this normal call that was called in as a medical emergency because when the police arrived, in fact, nobody even seemed distressed at all. And when police started asking people in the house what was going on, two women who reportedly lived there told them that they, quote, saw a person under the bed in Luis and Griselda's room. And as police started looking further, that's when they found a dismembered body in a white trash bag that had been stuffed under the bed. And the body was, in fact, Luis's girlfriend, Griselda. The police detained Hernandez and two other males that lived there, while the female told police that Griselda hadn't been seen since December 27th, which was right after she and Luis reportedly had gotten into an argument. Additionally, one of the roommates even said that they had received strange text from Luis the night before, saying that Griselda was suicidal, which all of this immediately raised red flags for investigators. So after getting a search warrant, investigators went through the home, and the details just kept piling up. That's when they reportedly found a six-inch steak knife, covered in blood, and it was tucked inside a closet, along with a pillow that was stained in a way that suggested it had been pressed against somebody's face. Then later, according to the court documents, there were text messages to an unknown person from Luis that painted this disturbing picture. He was allegedly claiming that Griselda was suicidal, but refused to say where she was or where he thought she could have gone. He even went on to say and suggest that somebody was harassing her. This other person was harassing her and that was causing her to potentially be suicidal. So on December 29th, the same day that Griselda's body was found, Luis was taken into custody and interviewed by detectives. And that's when he gave this version of events that didn't match the evidence at all. He reportedly told police that he came home late on the evening of December 27th, showered, went to bed next to Griselda, and claimed that she was already asleep next to him. Later, he said that the cries from their baby woke him up, and when he got up to feed their baby, he found Griselda, quote, cold and obviously deceased. And rather than call 911, he allegedly wrapped her in a blanket, and that's when he hid her under the bed. Investigators noted that later that night, Luis had searched online for how to dispose of a body and even how to flee to Mexico, which obviously he's panicked trying to plan how to get out of this doesn't know how to handle the situation but by december 30th luis was in court facing first degree murder after deliberation first degree murder with extreme indifference second degree murder and tampering with a deceased human body and a judge has decided to set his bail at five million dollars cash to reflect just how serious these allegations were. And something that struck me a little bit odd was that his previous assault charge and child abuse charge from the month before only listed his girlfriend and his own mother. It didn't list their child. So curious to know more about what was going on with those charges. So the Summit County Coroner's Office has confirmed the victim as Griselda, but as of the latest reports, her official cause and manner of death has not yet been released. That information is expected once the autopsy is complete. So this case is still unfolding, and now the legal system has its job of trying to unravel the truth and figure out what really happened. So we will definitely be keeping an eye out for any updates and keep you posted. But as of now, of course, our thoughts and prayers go out to Griselda's family and friends and, of course, that sweet baby. It's just so, so sad. And it's these types of cases that really irritate me because I feel like this could have potentially been prevented. I mean, obviously, we don't know what happened on those previous charges back in November. But to have just a month later something this horrific happened, it just feels like something possibly could have been done. It's kind of giving Brian Walsh, like how he said that he woke up and she was just dead next to him and he panicked. And so he's saying, oh, I woke up and she was dead. It's like, nobody believes you. What's that from? Nobody believes you. Nobody believes you. Nobody's from something. But like, nobody believes you. Well, and nobody believes you with the pillow that was stained with blood and a knife. And searches of how to dispose of a body and how to flee to Mexico. No. Which I mean if – No, Luis, no. Yeah. Okay, so now I want to get into a case that I know has been weighing very heavily on a lot of you out there. It has been weighing very heavily on a lot of us here in the office as well, Because from the outside looking in, it started, it kind of looked like it was going to be one thing. But then it very quickly became something much, much darker. And it's the case of 17-year-old Haley Busby. Now, we actually spoke with her father last week, which is why it has been weighing, you know, extra heavy on all of us in the office. Because we spoke with her family while they thought she was still missing. Before they knew anything about who was involved in this. what had happened to her and the extent that this person had gone to. So there is a lot of information to go over and I also want to share with you what Haley's dad Beau shared with us. But let me first give you a little bit of a breakdown for those of you who maybe are not that familiar with this case, but I'm sure that you have seen her photo somewhere on your feed. It is just incredibly sad. So on the night of January 5th, 2006, Haley was at her home in Fishers, Indiana, which Fishers is a suburb just outside of Indianapolis. She was a junior in high school, and by all accounts, she was a normal teenager. We spoke with her family. Friends have also said that she was just very bright, very bubbly, very vibrant. Just you honestly, and I know it sounds so cliche when we say she lit up a room. If you look at a photo of Haley, her smile is like just huge and just like exudes light and vibrance. Truly, it does. So sometime by around 10 p.m. or possibly even later that night or into the early morning hours, Haley quietly left her house. Now, her parents said that when they woke up that morning, there was just something in their gut telling them that something was wrong and that they needed to go check on Haley before school. And when they went into her room, they noticed that she was not in her bed. So when they realized that she was gone, they immediately called the police. However, at that point, the investigators believed that Haley had left voluntarily. So the case was initially treated as a runaway, and she was labeled as a runaway, which that early classification in this case, runaway versus endangered, that mattered more than anybody even realized at the time, which I should correct that. Her family realized that, and they were fighting tooth and nail trying to get this switch from Runaway. They knew that she was not the kind of person to run away. She was not irresponsible. She would always check in. And this was very out of character for her. Her family also was trying to pour over as much evidence as they could to the police. Her social media, her devices, everything they could saying like, look, something's not right here. She's not a Runaway. I get like you guys are so quick to label teenagers as Runaways, but that is not the situation here. However, police later said that they believed Haley did have a plan when she left. Also, that there was no sign of forced entry, no immediate evidence of violence, and no indication that she had been taken against her will. So, because of that, despite what the family was yelling and screaming from the rooftops, the case was not treated as an abduction. It was treated just simply as a runaway. However, I will say that behind the scenes, the investigators were starting to uncover things that suggested that maybe she had been assisted in leaving. Still doesn't mean that she was abducted, but that she did have assistance in this. Because as the police dug deeper, they learned that Haley had been communicating online with a man who was much, much older than her. 39-year-old Tyler Thomas. Now, he was from out of state. He was from Ohio. But a 39-year-old talking with a 17-year-old? Why is that even happening? So, according to investigators, the two of them met through online gaming. And I do want to pause really quickly here and say this because this detail does matter in the grand scheme of things. Police, police, police, police have not publicly confirmed which game or which platform they were communicating on. However, it has been widely suggested that the platform was Roblox. And I don't even need to tell you how freaking dangerous Roblox is. If your kids are playing that, I highly encourage you to take them off of it. It is so dangerous. Other people now have also come forward saying that they too played games and talked with Tyler on Roblox. So just throwing that out there, but police have not confirmed that that was the platform that they were talking on. What is confirmed by police, however, is that they were able to identify a vehicle that had been in Haley's neighborhood the night that she disappeared. And that vehicle is connected to 39-year-old Tyler. So investigators say that they made contact with Tyler within days of Haley going missing. And here's where his story starts to waver and shift a little bit. According to the police, Tyler admitted that, yeah, he had picked Haley up that night from her home. But at first he claimed, I didn't take her with me to Ohio. I didn't take her with me to my house. I dropped her off on the side of a road in western Ohio. I was just giving her a ride. I was just being a friend. But the investigators later determined that wasn't true at all. Because evidence showed that Haley had actually been in Tyler's home in Columbus, Ohio, and also at a short-term rental property in a rural area near Hocking Hills. Now, when I first heard that, that she was also not only at his home, but at a rental property, more details are coming out. I think it was probably an Airbnb of sorts. I think that a crime happened at his house in Columbus, and then I think he probably took her to this short-term rental or something or evidence was transferred or like blood transfer, DNA transfer, things like that. And I'll get into more of that in a little bit here. So police searched both locations, and like I said, they were able to confirm that Haley had been there. However, she physically was not there. She was not found. So now, as more information is coming in, Fisher's police finally updated Haley's classification from a runaway to an endangered missing juvenile. Now, this was around January 19th or 20th. So weeks had already gone by that she had been missing and they had just labeled her as a runaway. And now they finally are realizing like, oh, no, she was endangered. Something nefarious is going on here, right? So at that point, police publicly stated that they believe that Haley did not act alone in leaving. And from there, the tone of the investigation really did begin to shift. On January 31st, Tyler Thomas was arrested and booked into the Franklin County Jail in Ohio. Then, the very next day on February 1st, Fisher's police held a press conference, and they announced that based on the evidence that they had gathered from his house, the short-term rental property, possibly a vehicle, they haven't been super specific, but based on the evidence they had they believed that Haley was deceased. Now they did not share every single detail publicly as I mentioned but they did make it clear that the investigation was moving into a recovery phase rather than a rescue. And here's where it gets interesting again and why I think Tyler is changing his story constantly because later that same day Tyler's defense attorney stated Tyler is the one who ultimately led the authorities to Haley's remains. Her remains were in Perry County, Ohio. And multiple other outlets have also reported that a body was recovered on Sunday. However, at the time of the reporting, the official identification of the body was still pending. However, the investigators have treated the remains as Haley's, especially because Tyler allegedly is the one who cooperated with the authorities, the FBI, to lead them there. So his bond was set at $1.5 million. But here's something that is really important to understand in all of this case. as of now, Tyler has not been charged with murder. And his defense attorney is really pushing that and is saying, Tyler's cooperating. He's the one who led them to her body. He's has nothing to hide here. He wants to be truthful. He wants to be helpful. His thoughts are with her family, all of these things. But to me, when you kind of read between all of it, it's not him being helpful or cooperative. He's changing his story. At first, he said he dropped her off on the side of the road. He had no, he didn't hang out with her. He didn't bring her to his house. He just dropped her off and was giving her a ride. Then the moment that he was confronted with evidence that contradicted that saying, well, no, we actually found evidence at your house and the short-term rental that she was there. Then he's changing his story of, oh, well, yeah, let me lead you her body. So her defense, his defense attorney has even said something about floating the idea of this isn't murder, but maybe there will be a concealment charge. And we talked about this recently, which case was it? I think it was in the David case, the D4VD case. They haven't charged him with murder either. They haven't really charged him with anything at this point. But because it's suggested that David, and like what I think Tyler is probably laying the footwork to do, is that saying it was either accidental, rough sex, overdose, something else, and that he panicked and he disposed of her body, and that's why he's cooperating with the authorities, because he has nothing to hide. Well, if he had nothing to hide, then he wouldn't have lied and said he dropped her off on the side of the road. So I think that once he was confronted with this, it's now he's trying to do whatever he can to change his story, to catch lesser charges, and not be held accountable. But in my opinion, I don't think that's where this case is going. I think he is going to end up being charged with murder. At the time of this recording, he has not been, but maybe once it releases, he will be. Because get this, Not only is he facing pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, but also tampering with evidence. And the reason why he is charged with those things and not murder yet is because court records allege that a video had been created involving Haley, involving her at Tyler's residence, a sex tape, and that he attempted to delete the video from his phone. So that is where I would say first of all grooming motive all of these things come into play He meets her on the video game platform starts talking to her picks her up takes her to his house They engage in this alleged sex act He tapes it He tries to wipe that from his phone later just like he tried to change his story And who knows what happened We still don know cause of death, right? But as of today, we know Haley Busby is believed to be deceased. It is believed to be her remains that were found and recovered in Ohio. Tyler is still in custody. additional charges could still be filed and the investigation is ongoing. However, there are still major unanswered questions here, including exactly when and how Haley died and whether additional criminal charges are coming forward. But here's what I want to really focus on here. I know I said we talked with her dad and they were so adamant from the beginning that she was not a runaway, that they knew something was going on. They are the ones who like handed over all of her social media and said, look into all of this. Here's who she's been talking to, trying to say she was lured from the home, doing everything they possibly could do to advocate for their daughter. So now they are calling for signatures on a petition that they have created, and it's for Haley's Law slash a pink alert. Now, what this would do is it would establish a statewide alert that is similar in structure to an amber alert or a silver alert when a person's disappearance is dangerous or unusual, but when it does not qualify under current Amber Alert criteria. So, for example, this alert would activate when credible risk indicators exist, such as, and I want to read you the list, evidence of online grooming or predator contact, suspicious or coercive communications, sudden unexplained disappearance, exploitation or trafficking risk factors, credible threats or alarming digital activity, vulnerability due to age or circumstances. So we'll sign the petition. I'm going to put the link in the show notes for you so that everybody can sign this. I also will probably be doing a deep dive into this just based on everything we learned in our conversation with the family as more information comes out about what exactly happened to Haley. Tyler's track record because I alluded to it a little bit, but other girls, girls, not women, other girls are coming forward saying that they spoke to him on the platform as well. And we're going to see who this guy really is. I think we're going to find out he's a sicko. That's just my opinion, but we will see. So more to come on that. And then I just want to wrap up with what's going on with the case with Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy Guthrie. This has probably taken over your feeds as well. It's incredibly sad. Savannah is, of course, the host of the Today Show. Her mother went missing. She has not been as of now on the Today Show. She's working the investigation alongside everybody trying to figure out what happened to her mom. But let me break down what we know so far. So Nancy is 84 years old and she was last known to be at her home in the Tucson Catalina Foothills area at roughly 9.30 to 9.45 p.m. on Saturday night, January 31st, 2026. And I've also seen different reports that her children are the ones who dropped her off at her home that night. However, on Sunday, February 1st, Nancy didn't show up to church, which was described as very unusual. Unusual enough that other people took notice. So later that morning, a church friend alerted the family, which then prompted her children to go check on her and look for her. So around noon, when they realized that she was gone and she wasn't at the house, the family contacted 911 so that they could report her as missing. Later that night, the sheriff's office initiated search and rescue efforts using helicopters, drones, infrareds, I mean, all sorts of different resources. And the sheriff who's working the case, Chris Nanos, has emphasized that Nancy was of great sound mind, that she did not suffer from dementia. This isn't a wandering off type situation, no, like fugue state, Walter White, nothing like that. He also said that she has very limited mobility, that she can only walk 50 yards unassisted. So they knew that something was going on here, but they weren't quite sure what it was. However, after the search, the authorities communicated concern, saying that the circumstances are in fact suspicious, but they were very limited in what they publicly shared at that time. Then on Monday of this week, that's when a lot of the updates started pouring in, because at that point, the case was publicly framed as a suspected abduction, saying that the authorities are treating the home as a potential crime scene and criminal investigation. The sheriff also indicated, again, that they do not believe that she left willingly. She didn't leave on her own. The situation is being handled as a crime, and he was using language such as, we do in fact have a crime and a crime scene. They also were stressing the health urgency of it all, because the authorities emphasized she's going without critical daily medication, making time in all of this obviously a very huge factor. So then fast forward to Tuesday. We got more updates. as of Tuesday, police found and are processing DNA evidence that is connected to the investigation. Law enforcement sources say that there was blood found inside the home, which that, of course, not only adds to the concerns of foul play, but cements why they so early on said, oh no, this looks like an abduction. This is a crime scene because there was blood at the scene, which now that blood is being processed. Multiple outlets are continuing to reiterate that the investigators believe she has been abducted or taken against her will, potentially that she was taken overnight after she was dropped off at her home Saturday night. They kept saying there are indicators of a crime, she absolutely did not leave voluntarily, yet they are remaining very tight-lipped about the specific evidence that they have found, aside from the blood, that leads them to that conclusion. Now I will say this, even though they are remaining tight-lipped, in addition to the blood that was found inside the house and what is ultimately what made them label this as a crime scene, there was also blood on the porch. And there's some video, which I'll show to all of you watching YouTube right now, where you can actually see these blood droplets on the porch. And also, the Ring doorbell camera, whether it's Ring or another brand, appears to have been ripped off from the door, very clearly indicating that somebody didn't want to be seen, didn't want that footage to be seen and at some point traveled in or out of that door and transferred blood with them. Now, whether that was when they were moving things around or possibly pulling Nancy out of the home, we don't know. But I think it is important to mention that. Another thing that I want to mention, just so that you guys have all of the information and can form your own opinions, these next two pieces of information, though, I want to be very clear, are not completely verified. They have not been verified by law enforcement. But on Tuesday, TMZ reportedly received a ransom note. And in this ransom letter, they were demanding a very high amount of money in Bitcoin. They also apparently identified a piece of clothing or an item that Nancy was wearing, also something from the home, to prove its authenticity. And TMZ said that they turned this ransom letter over to the police and that law enforcement is investigating it. But law enforcement hasn't come outright and said that they confirmed that it's legit and that it's real. If it was real, would they come out and say that? I don't know. So it is very possible that it is real. Why this person would send it to TMZ, I'm not entirely sure. But that's out there. Another thing that trickled in late Tuesday night early into Wednesday is that there is an alleged prime suspect being floated around. and that person is actually Savannah's brother-in-law, the man who is married to her sister, Annie. Now again, this has not been verified by law enforcement, but according to this person, someone in law enforcement is who shared that information with them. And I don't know how true that is. So again, take it with a grain of salt, but I wanna just tell you everything that's out there. I also tried to look in a little bit into like what the dynamic is and the relationship between Annie and her husband. Are they estranged? Are they still together? Could she potentially have any sort of inside knowledge in this? Like, is there any validity to this, basically? As of right now, at the time of this recording, law enforcement has not confirmed anything about him being a prime suspect, about a ransom note, about any of that. They have said that, unfortunately, there have been indications that Nancy's pacemaker stopped communicating with the server or, you know, whatever, however those, like, electronic things speak to each other and work. and I'm hopeful that by the time that this episode releases, we will have another update and hopefully a positive one. So we are going to keep following this and we will keep you updated. But what we do know, something weird was definitely going on here and new information is pouring in every single day.
