And we've got a lot to talk about. Appreciate your input as always. 615-737-9986, the Supertext Line is open. So we were talking about in the five o'clock hour and JD Vance, JD Vance is talking about how this fragile ceasefire agreement is fragile indeed. And so there are a couple of different lists that are going around. Fox News has put out what they believe are Iran's demands in this ceasefire. Now, in case you missed the five o'clock hour, basically you have what Iran is demanding or what it has said that they're demanding. You have the demands of the United States. You have what Pakistan has put together. That is a 15 point plan. You have the Wall Street Journal and ABC News and CBS News reporting on their own list. You have the BBC reporting on their own list. So there's just a lot being thrown out there as far as who wants what. I believe that JD Vance is right though. I would say this is fragile and this ceasefire is also tenuous in nature. But here's what Iran is demanding per Fox News. You ready? The US must fundamentally commit to guaranteeing non-aggression. Now, and I'm gonna, by the way, comment on all of this as we go. So I would understand, and if I were president, I would agree, yeah, we will guarantee non-aggression as long as we have transparency. See, Iran has to guarantee transparency. We need to know what they're doing in their nation because they've been lying to us for decades. So trust is a two way street. And clearly we will never trust Iran and they will never trust us. However, with full transparency, then we don't need trust because we have transparency. So that's what I would say if I was Donald Trump. Continuation of Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz. Now, Donald Trump has said that we will be also taking part or hanging around, just making sure everything is, going well as far as opening up the Strait of Hormuz. Number three, by the way, do we know, Joan, and I know you're busy and we're all busy, our ships are not currently going through the Strait of Hormuz. I know some ships were going through the Strait of Hormuz, but they haven't opened it up completely as of yet. No, it's not open yet. Now, when, I don't know that either. They've got to de-mind. Yeah, they need to do some work before they just let traffic willy-nilly go through the Strait. Yes. Yeah. All right, very good. Number three, acceptance that Iran can enrich uranium for its nuclear program. So I guess the question there is, can we define what nuclear program means? I mean, are we talking about nuclear program for nuclear power, or are we talking about for nuclear weapons? So that's part of the issue. Number four, removal of all primary sanctions on Iran. Now, this is the problem. The problem is that, again, it all goes back to trust. Do we remove all of those sanctions on Iran, knowing that they use that money that they get from selling the oil to fund terrorism? And so if we're going to remove all of the primary sanctions on Iran, well, then we need to guarantee that they're using that money for legit purposes and not funding the terrorism that they have been funding for years via the Houthi rebels and Hamas and Hezbollah as well. So, and again, the only way to guarantee all of these things is full transparency. Iran also wants removal of all secondary sanctions against foreign entities that do business with Iranian institutions. The same thing applies there. Some of these are a tough pill to swallow. I'm just gonna tell you, because we don't trust Iran. By the way, if you're watching on Super Talk TV, I've got these on the screen as well. Number six, end of all United Security Council resolutions targeting Iran. Number seven, end of all international atomic energy agency resolutions on Iran's nuclear program, compensation payment to Iran for war damage. The more that I hear of these things, the more they've got a lot of negotiations. Now, we all know how negotiations work, right? You shoot for the moon and you just swing for the fences and then you know what you'll accept and what you won't. So, for example, compensation payment to Iran for war damage. They're the ones, in my opinion, and there's a lot of argument about this, but I believe that they're the ones that are responsible for the war that ultimately they experienced because they weren't honest about their nuclear program and they closed this rate of Hormuz and they did a lot of things that brought the war to them. So, I don't believe that we should be paying Iran for war damage unless there's some sort of a negotiation that takes place where, okay, so we'll help them pay for the damage, but what do we get in return? And all of this has to do with transparency. Withdrawal of US combat forces from the region and number 10, ceasefire on all fronts, including Israel's conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon. Here's the problem with that. Israel, as I mentioned in the five o'clock hour, Israel has already come out and said, well, that number 10 does not apply because Hezbollah has been attacking Israel. And so Israel, of course, has a right to respond. And so you know how this goes, right? So Hezbollah will attack, I've gone through this before, but Hezbollah will attack Israel. Israel then responds and then Hezbollah has to respond and then Israel has to respond and on it goes. One of the other lists, and again, there's so many lists that are out there, but one of the other lists talks about how Iran is going to charge a $2 million per ship, like toll, going through this rate of Hormuz. But I saw that on one list and I haven't seen that on other lists. So as Joan and I were talking about earlier, there's a lot of points that are out there on the internet and a lot of these media outlets that think they know and they think they know, they don't really know because all these media outlets are posting different lists of the demands of America and the demands of Iran. So there is a lot going on this morning, even with the ceasefire. Ro Khanna, of course a congressional Democrat and he is commenting now, there we are, he is commenting on Donald Trump and a lot of people are saying now on the left that they need to invoke the 25th Amendment on Donald Trump. So, and it's because of this post that he made yesterday, I think it was yesterday morning where he talked about an entire civilization is going to die. Ro Khanna is out there now saying that we need to, or the Trump administration, need- Full send golf. You guys know how much I really, really love golf and I think every week would be dope to post on the golf channel. I wanna get a lot of guests on here. Salim's gonna take a leap, I'm down to be in it. It's not really work to play golf. Join the party on the golf course. I was like, let's go to the range. So what are we putting on it? We said 10K, right? 10K? We probably bet more than all the other golf channels, right? 10K, nine holes, those guys bet for cookies. Sorry, I'm gonna shank it. This guy's been trading like a Navy SEAL when it comes to golf. I'm very, very excited, you excited? Yeah. Full send golf. Follow and listen on your favorite platform. To invoke the 25th Amendment, this is what he says. If the United States Congress has any life left in it, every member of Congress and Senator must be calling for Trump's removal today based on the 25th Amendment. He's threatening the entire destruction of a civilization. He is calling Iranians animals. He is showing a total disregard for the humanity of people in Iran and Gaza, in Cuba. This is a moral crime. It is a war crime. We need to be demanding that Congress convene today and we need to be invoking the 25th Amendment. So that is, again, Rokana. And just to let you know where he stands on things like the 25th Amendment, this was also Rokana during the Biden administration where he was saying, oh yeah, Joe Biden, perfectly normal. The president has said that age is a fair issue. I've seen the president twice in the last two weeks. I've had conversation with him. He's completely mentally sharp when we were discussing the Middle East. But here's the reality. Dean Phillips has been making this an issue for the past three months. And we have an electoral process. And the president won overwhelmingly in New Hampshire. He's winning overwhelmingly in South Carolina. He's winning because he's delivering results. So when you say, you know, is it an issue? He said yes, it's an issue. Let the democratic process play out. And he's winning. He's lowering prescription drug clause, bringing manufacturing back. That's what people care about. So there you go, Rokana and obviously hypocritical. However, I expect nothing less from Democrats. Now, when it comes to the president and what he said about, you know, entire civilizations will die and all of that, I think there's something to be said for number one. This is what Donald Trump does, right? You folks know this is what Donald Trump does. He talks big. He causes chaos. And he ultimately will get results. I mean, we've seen that time and time again. To me, this is all part of the part of the art of the deal or the art of negotiation. So when he says, entire civilizations will die, he's purposely trying to create chaos so that he can come to a peaceful solution. But I think that there's also something to be said about matching the energy of Iran. I mean, how long has Iran been chanting, death to America? So I want to make sure that I get this straight. Donald Trump's detractors, they'll say, it's perfectly fine for Iran to say that Israel has no right to exist. It is perfectly fine to constantly call for the death and destruction of America. But Donald Trump says one thing, civilizations will die and everybody freaks out. And I think that there is something to be said to matching the energy of Iran. So that's what they say. And they've been saying it for a long time. And I think that part of what's going on is you have the Iranians and you have people on the left, they're clearly not used to a tough talking president. And that's something that they, you would think that they would be used to it by now, but apparently not. Anyway, by the way, it is a Trey Yings to tweeted this out, posted this on the socials. It's of course ceasefire day. And as it is ceasefire day across the world, you do have the Iranians, they have been bombing, I think it is the United Arab Emirates overnight. They have been bombing Israel as well. And so apparently the word hasn't gotten to all of the field that generals out there in Iran and in the Middle East, because they are still going after our partners in the Middle East. And so, it's like a ceasefire name only for the Iranians, yet they're out there talking tough and talking tough about how we've got to withdraw our troops and we've got to agree to never attack Iran. I'm sorry, but we're not even, we're not even, I think we're just over 12 hours of this ceasefire and they continue to bomb our partners in the Middle East. And so- I have a little bit of insight into that. Go ahead, Joan. Based on some reporting from ABC News just now, Jonathan Carl, whom I don't trust, nor do I like, he has been reporting this morning that he spoke to President Trump, that President Trump is saying that peace talks will begin on Friday, they're expected to move quickly. The president also confirming that China played a key role in dealing with the Iranians, but because the Iranians are not expecting peace talks to begin until Friday, they may see this as like a window of opportunity to get their last shots in before everyone sits down at the table. Joan, that's what they do. Yes. That's what they did when Hamas and Israel, remember the same thing happened, I mentioned this in the five, where you have these peace negotiations and okay, we're gonna start negotiating tomorrow. So they see that as an opportunity, as you said, to get their last licks in. So you know what? My opinion, if that's what they're gonna do, then we ought to get our last licks in as well. Why not? And there's, by the way, our troops are staying there. So it's not like anybody's going anywhere, you know? The stage is still set for the US to continue the bombing the snot out of Iran if it doesn't work out. So, you know, I think Iran needs to keep a lid on those bombs that keep flying across to their neighbors. Yeah, I mean, okay, so my question would be this, is this how you really want to enter into peace negotiations? Does this show that you are wanting to negotiate in good faith, where, okay, so we have all decided that we have gone into a ceasefire, but the negotiations don't start until Friday, so you're just gonna start, you know, continue to bomb all these other nations? Also, when Vice President JD Vance was speaking this morning in Hungary, he was talking about that we mentioned this, that it's a fragile truce, and that a lot of the people within the Iranian system, he said, are lying, listen to this. Some of the people have responded favorably and have said the right things, and then you have some people on social media within their system who are basically lying about what we've accomplished militarily. And that lie is what the media picks up on, and they run with it. Yep, that's what they do. It's like, okay, so, and part of this game that they play, and then I gotta go, but part of this game that they play is CNN or ABC News, or they'll go to people who they know will give them the kind of information they want that is critical of the Trump administration, critical of their plans, and then they'll say, well, we got this from a source, well, that happens to be an anti-Trump source, and so it's all sort of a game that the media plays, and so we'll continue. By the way, the president real quickly posting this last night, a big day for world peace today. Iran wants it to happen, they've had enough, likewise so has everyone else, the United States of America, will be helping with the traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz. There will be lots of positive action, big money will be made, Iran can start the reconstruction process, we'll be loading up with supplies of all kinds and just hanging around in order to make sure that everything goes well. I believe that is the president saying that we'll be watching and we'll be watching closely. He continues on with his post to Truth Social, I feel confident that it will, just like we are experiencing in the US, this could be the golden age of the Middle East president, Donald J. Trump. I will add if Iran would just get out of their own way. It is Wednesday, it is April 8th of 2026, otherwise known as ceasefire day. Apparently so, Joan Donald Trump is giving interviews and he just spoke to Sky News. Oh. So I think part of what's happening is that the president is watching what's going on in the media, you've got all of these idiots talking about what is it, taco Wednesday, Trump always chickens out, so dumb. But anyway, so he gave an interview to Sky News, it wasn't an on air interview. I think that somebody either called him or Trump called in whatever it is, but they talk about the discussion and about how the president is saying, look, there's a lot, it's like what I've been saying, there's lots of lists out there as far as what is being negotiated. We don't really know what's real and what's not, to be perfectly honest, Fox News is reporting some things, CNN is reporting other things, the BBC has their own list. This is what the president is saying about that list. Any of these points that you're talking about in the 10 point plan, how are any of them proposals that America could ever agree to? And he was a bit pointed at this point. He said, you don't know what the points are, I know what they are. And there was no, then he was then again flowing, no opportunity to interrupt. So there was no opportunity for me to say, well, the Iranians have kind of published the points. And he said, then said, this is really intriguing, Martha. He then said, they're very good points and most of them have been fully negotiated. So he's disputing the Iranian position here. He's suggesting that the negotiations are well developed already, which is a surprise. Very debatable whether that's true or not. And he said that they're not the maximalist demands that Iran is claiming. So really interesting. Yeah, certainly a lot more to dig into over the next few days. Yeah, definitely. And I should say the last thing he said, well, actually, it wasn't the last thing, but one of the things he said within the, about a minute and a half of conversation that I got with him, he said, if it isn't good, I think he's referring there to the ceasefire and the negotiations, we'll go right back to it very easily. I took that to mean that they are prepared to return to war if things don't go the right way. So very interesting. And then he said, gotta hang up now, gotta go or something, words to that effect. There you go. So Trump making phone calls to Sky News. Sky News, is that in, is that Australia? Australia, mate. Australia, okay, very good. So that is, Donald Trump is calling Australia. To defend the ceasefire and the negotiations and more clearly define what is going on. Joan, what do you think the chance is? He'll call Nashville, Tennessee. I don't think he's going to, Dan. Just a thought. Well, he could if he wanted to. But of course, the producers keep the phones on hold. Anyway, whatever. Hey, so real quick, Joan, what is J.D. Vance? Apparently he has given the presser and there's some audio out there. So this was in where? He's in Budapest. Budapest, okay. He's there because Victor Orban, the prime minister of Hungary. What is he saying? He is, you're on the air, Sam, apparently. Yeah. So he's there in Budapest. Yes. Because Victor Orban is undergoing a reelection. Of course, the US wants to see him seated again in Hungary. So he's there in support of him. And he's speaking about this so-called fragile truce. The Iranians have agreed to open up the streets. The United States has agreed to stop attacking. And that, not just the United States, but also our allies, have agreed to stop attacking. And he talks about the US achieving a win here. What the president set out to do was decimate the Iranian military, decimate their ability to wage conventional war. And that military objective, as the president said yesterday, as I said yesterday, has been achieved. Yes. And he says that what needs to happen is that people are telling the truth and actually negotiating in good faith. If the Iranians are willing, in good faith, to work with us, I think we can make an agreement. If they're going to lie, if they're going to cheat, if they're going to try to prevent even the fragile truce that we've set up from taking place, then they're not going to be happy. What the president did is he basically said, open up the straits, stop trying to hold the world's economy hostage, and will engage in a ceasefire. And that's exactly the agreement that we came to last night. There you go. So, and he's also, apparently, a lot of people are saying, well, why are you in Hungary? This is an urgent time for you to be here. But having Victor Orban reelected is very important to the United States. Yep. Yep. And apparently, JD Vance had, from what I'm reading, he had a big part in the negotiations. Yes. He's able to operate just like President Trump all hours of the day. Well, listen. You have to when you. You have to if you work with President Trump. And obviously, JD Vance, his people have been working on it as well. This is a big, if this ultimately works, this is a big feather in the cap for the vice president. And I think the question would be, do you think that Iran is going to negotiate in good faith? Well, that's what's going to happen. What's going to have to happen. But at the moment, there's still lobbing bombs all over the place in the Middle East. I think that tells you all you need to know. Yeah. So it's, you know, we're not starting off on a great foot. No, we're not. All right. 645, Joan, well, whoever. Time to check the roads on WTN. Appreciate you listening to Nashville's Morning News on Super Talk 99.7, WTN there has been and continues to be a lot of, I've got some video gentlemen, there continues to be a lot of reaction to the ceasefire and a lot of reaction to the various points and the lists of points and negotiations that are going to take place beginning on Friday. So last night, we're all fans of Scott Jennings here. And last night, of course, CNN was crowing about how Donald Trump had been rolled by the Iranians. And this is how that sounded. This is Abby Phillip and Scott Jennings. The same table that we have tonight is the table that existed yesterday in large part. And fundamentally, the only thing that has been agreed to is that Iran will continue to control the Strait of Hormuz and will allow ships to go through on their control. That is the only thing that has been agreed to. The Strait is going to be reopened and we're going to negotiate about the rest. Beyond that, we don't really know much of anything. But I will tell you yesterday, Iran was saying, we're cutting off, you know, talks. We're not going to continue the talks. The president uses some extreme language and all of a sudden, wallah, tonight, we have a ceasefire for two weeks. Why can't we just say, you know what, maybe we have achieved military objectives. Maybe we have taken down their military and their ability to export tear. Maybe we have decimated their missiles. Maybe we've buried the nuclear material and maybe we've got two weeks to make the world a safer place. Why can't we look at this as a glass half full moment as opposed to, you know, we have to make it negative for Donald Trump. Yes. So the Democrats, of course, the leftists are like dying to get in and, you know, label Donald Trump a loser. And again, saying that he got rolled. I don't, can I just say this? We don't know if Donald Trump got rolled or not because we don't know what the final negotiation is going to look like. I mean, we've been talking about how it is stunning that the same people that were, you know, going after Donald Trump is, as Scott Jenningsson said, the same people that were hand wringing yesterday about yesterday about Donald Trump's language and about how civilizations were going to die. Now they're apparently seemingly upset that he didn't kill civilizations. It's like these TDSers, they don't know what they want. Do you want the president to use harsh or extreme language to find ultimately peace in the Middle East? Because Donald Trump, you know what Trump is? Donald Trump is a guy who will say or do just about anything to get the result that he wants. That's what this is. And for all these people that are, that are hand wringing about, oh my gosh, he said he's going to, you know, kill civilizations. As I said earlier in the broadcast, he's matching Iran's energy because they've been saying the same crap for years. They've been saying this. A little insight into maybe what's happening here. Yes. President Trump, you know, sometimes when he posts something, it's kind of a view into what's going on or into how he's thinking. So he just posted on true social, a country supplying military weapons to Iran will be immediately tariffed on any and all goods sold to the United States of America. 50% effective immediately. There will be no exclusions or exemptions. President DJT. Russia we're talking to you. I think so. Russia, China, talking to you. And here's the thing. So that will play into Joan. This will be interesting. That will play into one of Iran's demands, which was that countries that are being sanctioned by the United States for doing business with Iran, those countries need to have their sanctions lifted. Donald Trump is out there saying, uh-uh, if there is a country that is giving weapons to you, Iran, well then they will be sanctioned up to or tariffed. You said tariffed. Uh-uh. 50%. So tariffs, sanctions, whatever. So I mean, I think that's going to be again one of those negotiations. You know what? Here's the deal. Iran can either fully embrace this and make a crap ton of money or they can continue to be the pariah of the earth. And I just, I don't, it just seems like Iran, it just seems like they don't care about making money. Have you noticed that? Because if they would just, as I said before, if they just get the hell out of their own way, God, the money that they could make. And they'd have 93 million people that are in Iran and they would be able to work, they could be able to pay their bills, they would have an effective tax base. Uh, you know, I mean, they just, they have every opportunity to go legit and they just simply refuse to. Back to CNN real quickly. Sky Jennings is debating a woman named Tara Settmayer, probably shanking her name and I don't care. But you know, she is chanting and chomping at the bet to get her two cents in about how Donald Trump got rolled. Why can't you just acknowledge that what Donald Trump said this morning was a warrant and that no president should ever threaten annihilating a civilization? Why can't you just acknowledge that? Look, he's talking to them in the way he thinks he needs to talk to them. Why can't you acknowledge that? That is something that no president- Because I don't take orders from you, number one and number two. I get him the space to negotiate with Iranians the best way he knows that. Alright, well let me just ask this. This woman, good lord. She wouldn't even let, let Sky Jennings talk. You know, hey, Joan, you know when, when you're arguing with somebody and they close their eyes as they're trying to talk to you? AOC does this too. Oh yeah. That's what this woman is doing if you're watching on the, on the text line. And she's just belligerently talking about and saying to Sky Jennings, why can't you just admit that saying that you're going to kill an entire civilization is wrong to do? And I'm going to say the same thing that I've said before, which is Trump is matching Iran's energy. When they close their eyes like that, that's the hamster in the wheel burning the gears out of the sprocket in their brain. Is that what it is? They're trying to think about where they're going to go. Alright. Maybe that's what I need to do when I get stuck. I need to just like close my eyes and talk. Anyway, whatever. Here's more. One final, let me ask a final question, Scott, for the record. Do you think it's acceptable for the president to threaten to annihilate a civilization? Yes, I do. I'm sorry. She's asking Sky Jennings, but I'm going to answer apps a flipping lute Lee. You know, I do know what I wonder this whole brain trust of CNN. Have they, have they ever called out Iran for calling for the complete and utter annihilation of our tech and infrastructure, which is what they've done? Have they ever called out Iran for threatening to kill Americans? And by the way, they've killed a lot of Americans too. BTW. They've threatened the assassination of Donald Trump. And of course, everyone's favorite death to America. So yeah, I mean, all that Sky Jennings talk, obviously, but yeah, absolutely, we, we should talk tough to Iran because they talk tough to us and the rest of the world. I think it's acceptable for the commander in chief to deal with these people in the best way that he can to achieve a result. Is that a yes or a no? Is that a yes or a no? I'm not going to second guess them. I'm not going to second guess them. So it's a yes. He put out a statement. I thought, wow, you're a Democrat. I have a ceasefire. Those are the two things that I wanted to ask for the record. Yes. A yes on your part. Yeah. What's the word I'm looking for, Joan? Is it is it sanctimonious? Is that the word that I'm looking for to describe these Democrats where, you know, they consider themselves so elitist and highbrow? Where is it ever acceptable for an American president to call for the annihilation of a civilization? First of all, here's the deal. Do you know why he said that, Joan? Because he didn't want to do it. Why am I all mad? I don't why am I all mad? I don't even know why I'm getting all worked up over this. I keep having to tell myself, Joan, consider the source. Abby Phillip and the knuckleheads on CNN, they shouldn't get me all worked up because this is what they do. Anyway, whatever. Hey there, I'm Paula Pan. I help people make the smartest money decisions possible. Joe, you know what's been great about being a saver? For money to make. And that money over the past couple of years has made a pretty good yield. Pre-pandemic, money was making zero. Now it's actually making something, but that's starting to go down, down, down. I love how we can play the fact that inflation's been really high as a positive. But if you're a saver, you know what that means? Cha-ching. Silver lining, Joe. Silver lining. Afford anything.
