I don't see any reason why we shouldn't just start with this BMW M2 CS that you just brought, Johnny. And here it is. Let's get right into a car, right off the top of the show. Right. Here it is, the new M2 CS. This is a car that was promised to me, I think a while back I had the M4 CS. Right before they delivered the M4 CS, they said someone crashed this car, this press car. And just as a little sidebar, tell everybody like how frequently this happens with press cars and then- Constantly. Constantly, right. This is why they have more than one. Yeah, and press people aren't responsible, right? When they crash, or are they? Are we? Well, it depends. Like, you know, if you're drunk, then you're responsible. If you are, what if you're responsibly drunk? Wait a minute, is that true? Well, you can't be drunk. No, I know. Who's going to know? No. There's a crash report like form in everyone. Yeah. And you know, the whole goal is to never have to fill them out, right? Yeah. But seriously, do you know anybody who's ever had to pay for a press car? Motor Trend, very famously. We had one we had to pay for. I know, because- Somebody, it was the 50th anniversary of 9-11. And somebody on staff, like, I don't know what they did, but it looked like they drove over a piece of rebar that was sticking up. I did that. Sliced the thing, nose to tail. Like, really? Roped the A-arm to chaps. Yeah, yeah, like A-arms front and rear, pierced the oil pan, gouged everything, damaged the fuel tank, and didn't cop to it. So our, like, basically, it was leaking oil, right? One guy noticed, so that we brought it, and they brought it to Rustnik in Pasadena, which is right near my house. Yeah. And I got a call from the Porsche PR guy, like, you better go look at that car. And so, okay, I went down there and I had it on the left and I was like, oh my god. And they basically said, you know, look, if you crash it while you're testing it, that's fine, but you got to admit to it. You got to tell us. And, like, we did a whole investigation. Yeah, yeah. And I know exactly who did it. Okay, who? I can't say. He can't say. One Fesa. No, I call Johnny all the time or Matt Farah, if anything, like early on. Like, oh, I got a little ding in the wheel or the ballet did it, and I go, what do I do? And you guys go, you got to just tell them. You got to tell them. Just tell them. Yeah. And hope they don't not tell them and hope they don't notice. Why did he not cop to it? We don't know, because that's the thing. We don't, as an employee, you don't have any liability. Like, when it went back in the day, there was this guy, Scott Mortar, a motorist at my first day, he goes, listen, do anything you want, drive the cars. When you crash it, you tell me. You tell me. Don't lie to me. Yeah, yeah. Just tell me. I'll take care of it. And I said, great, you know. And, you know, I couldn't even begin to imagine. I mean, one of the best was I had a Perfumante and, you know, Jethro. Yeah. Him and I were driving around and I was just, you know, every day we were driving better than you normally drive. And he's like, Mike, you ever thought about racing? And I'm like, yeah, I think about it from time to time. Crash. And then, but literally, Jethro was freaking out. I literally like got my phone out called Lambo. Like, do you have another green Perfumante in the car? Los Angeles? Or like, yeah, Leno has a day. I'm like, okay, we're going to need it for tomorrow. That's great. And Jethro was just like, where am I? What is happening? Yeah, that's just how it works. That's how it is. And these press cars sometimes they go back into the fleet. Sometimes they don't. And sometimes they're just destroyed. Yeah. Anyway, yeah, this car has was significantly crashed because it just came back yesterday. Who knows? I know. I could tell it was months ago when they said this happened. But it's brand new. It's just it's factory parts. Well, yeah, I'd love to know what happened to it. But yeah, the car like Zuckerman's Son Dell has one of these. Well, the previous 2020. No, I know. But it's an M2CS, right? And it was it was that car that sparked my interest in getting the new car, this car. And I was very excited about trying it. Yeah. I have not had that chance yet, but you have. Yeah, a little bit, a little bit. I mean, you've been driving it for what? 24 hours. Yeah, it dropped it off less than 24 hours. So take us through the basic specs of the car. The basics is so it has the what's called the S58 motor. So same motor as like the M3. And this one is 523 horsepower. So it's actually an M3 CS tune M4 CS. What was the previous version? Oh, for something 470. A lot. 470. Definitely a lot. But this is more. This is more. And this is 480 or 470 pound-feet of torque. Now, the one thing you can no longer get a manual. It's automatic only. I drove both of your generation. I like the dual clutch better. Now, it's an auto. It's not a dual clutch. But so a lot of people are sad about that. Did you have the manual gearbox? Yeah. Yeah. And I like it very much. You still have that car, right? Yes. And it's like a terrific car. It's an excellent, excellent car. OK. This this seemed and again, I haven't had a chance to like take it on a Canyon road. I got to blast it around Burbank at night last night, which is fun. Acceleration is wild. The other thing is, so this would be a 10 minute ramp. But like German manufacturers are so afraid of diesel gates that they follow the EU rules for announcing weight in the US. Right. So they're saying this car weighs 3800 pounds. This car actually probably weighs 3600 pounds. So it's not much heavier than the last one. It's a little bit bigger, but not terribly so. The wheels are awesome. Is there anything on the exterior styling that differentiates it from the M2? At least from this angle, I can't quite see. The wheels and then there's there is an M2. Jack, if you go to the snout, if you look at the nostril, there's an M2 CS badge poking out. Oh, yeah. There you go. Yeah. The trunk lid is pretty distinctive. It's a full carbon fiber trunk lid. I think the roof and the doors are not the doors. The roof's carbon. Something else is carbon. The mirrors are carbon. So stuff like that. But the inside, there's like these light up crazy CS badges on the doors, which are totally weird. I think the cars will be on for that. But you can it should be open. You can open the door if you want. There you go. But yeah, it's a standard BMW cockpit. No couple. Actually, Zuckerman, you see below the door handle, you see CS. Yeah. So when you start the car, that starts going in the M colors. It changes to like blue and red. And okay. Yeah, I don't know. What? I like that. It's different. It's something. Yeah. Yeah. And the big big big in Turkmenistan. But yeah. My wife is getting in the car for the first time and she that her eye caught that as she's getting in. She banged her head because she was staring at it. It's cool. That was cool. Okay. That's it. That's the way. There you go. Can we get a look at the seats Jack? It's got the carbon nut separators, which a lot of people don't like. They're actually the best canyon seats. You know, I think you never want like a four or five point harness in a streetcar. I think they're horrible. These do a great job of holding your legs in place. That little separator thing there. They're a little uncomfortable around town, but when you're actually on the thing, they work. What this does do real well is it gives you when you put it into like, you know, sport mode or sport plus, it gives you the impression that you're really moving when you're actually pacing a minivan at 71 miles an hour, right? Which is probably good for BMW drivers because I get in this thing and I literally just start driving like a dickhead. It's that kind of thing. There's so much torque too. It's just so almost 500 pound feet of torque and a little tiny short wheelbase thing is just fun. Yeah. Yeah. They do the turbo charging well on these cars. That was something I noticed in the last generation of the M2 CS. Just no leg, just instant delivery, gobsy torque, as much power as you want at any moment. And this is that a generation up. Yeah. It's the same. You know what I mean? What is this costing us, John? Well, they didn't have them on Roni. So this one, the base price is 100. Actually, it's about 102 something. And I'm going to guess this has 10 to $15,000 in options. Look at that. Look at that fat steering wheel. It looks like it's inflated from the same angle. Like it's baloon-y. What was, do you remember what yours, the base price was? Because you bought yours during like COVID nonsense. I seem to recall that the base price of these cars was somewhere around 85. But I could be completely wrong about that. But that's my recollection. I think the stick was 85 and the dual clutch was 90 if I recall. And then if you wanted the wheels in there were some other nonsense you could get that could take you into the hundreds. Yeah. But I also remember there was so much ADM because I was like real the height of COVID. And there was like, I remember, I mean, not yours, but I think my friend Misha won it. It was like, the dealer wanted 110. Right. You know, that seemed to be the price was about 105 when it was all said and done with the extras. If you got the package. Yeah. And so who's buying this, Johnny? What kind of buyer is this? Oh, I would love to buy this. This is, well, that's not what I mean. Like what else are they considering? Yeah, you're you're looking at like big Cayman. You're looking at, you know, you used to maybe look at like a C63 or like a CLA 45, something like that. You know, Corvettes, things like that. Because it's like 500 horsepower sports car. Right. Where do you where do you put it with say a 911 or a GT3? How does it slot into you? Because when I affordable, when I drove, okay, just my son's 2020 down to Mexico. And back. And wow, I was really impressed with its capabilities. Right. It did every it drove fast. I had a trunk. I was just I was just annihilating the toll road south of the border. I mean, it was it was doing everything I've ever done down there in a 911 or a GT3. Yeah. Look, I'll put it like this. You remember the original M3 CS? Right. Such a wonderful car. There was nothing wrong with it. I remember me and Jeff wrote a video. We went to the Nurburgring and we had we had the M3 CS and a 911 GTS. And goddamn, the Porsche was just better. Like we there was nothing wrong with the BMW in any way, shape or form. It was just fundamentally the way the Porsche works. So just having weight on the rear wheels. It just worked better. You know, it was just better and and it's annoying because now you're paying for it. The you know, base, first of all, base Porsche is what? 375 horsepower and that's 140,000 now. Right. So this is way more power. This, you know, this has the same power basically as the GTS, which is 200 grand. So it is a real value. And it'll it'll hang with it on the street. You know, a track 911 will take over. Also, these brakes are monumentally good. These are just that's a wild looking back. Yeah. That trunk lid is is the real I always feel like I'm the wrong age for this car when I drive. Even though I love it. It's a 25 year old guy's car. If he had that kind of money, I think it's a crypto millionaire kid car. Okay. That works right. But also look at the wheels. Paul and I were talking about this before the show. Like, Jack, if you go in on a wheel at the front wheel with the big caliper, like, man, BMW, like their designs are kind of weird. Okay, we all know that. But they do wheels better than that's not every wheel with that tire. Yeah, profile and the fitment. Isn't this car as purple as it looks on the monitor? Yeah. Yeah, there's four. There's four colors. I forget. This is like, I don't know what it's like. And if you go if you go over to the yellow M five, you see how good the wheels have been for over 20 some odd years. They just nail the wheels. Look at that. Look at that. Yeah, they're nice. Why do you call that the back end of the M2 a cam tail? It's very camp. No, that's a duck tail. When I said, you're right. It's kind of it's a it's a duck tail in the shape of a cam tail. But yeah, it is a little bit of a cam. That's that's a way to get high speed stability without having a long tail. It's a doctor cam. And a little bit, we're going to have Shannon Harper on from Harper Porsche. He's going to talk about a show in Tennessee called Platica, which you guys probably remember. Remember, we're all those career GTs were assembled for that show a few years back. That's when I noticed him. He's coming in and tell us about this year's show. But right now we're going to talk about Blue Choo fellas. Give me some. You already know what time it is. It's time to level up in Blue Choo. Just dropped something crazy. I'm talking about next level championship belt gold plated energy. Blue Choo gold is so good it was stolen right off Duckerman's desk. It's a four in one beast that is setting the gold standard for performance. With we're talking two ingredients for blood flow to keep that rocket pumping mixed with apomorphine and oxytocin. What could go wrong to turn up the arousal and connection in your brain and body? Blue Choo gold dissolves under your tongue and works in as little as 15 minutes. That means you can get it on quicker and stay in the game longer. Elevation without hesitation. If your bed could talk after this, it'd be asking for a break. That's what they say. Look at the energy shot. Yeah, that's Blue Choo with caffeine in it. Oh, good. So you'd have your morning or workout caffeine, Blue Choo. I don't know how you're using that one. Maybe you're tired and you need a boner. I'm so old and you crepe it and I'm sleepy. This will wake me up. It's a dual diagnosis. I'm exhausted and not horny. I need that. That's right. You got to check out Blue Choo gold. The rectile dysfunction pill is so good. It's stolen up. Duckerman's desk. Or he's just not admitting to us he ate 10. No, I would admit to you. This stuff left my desk. Left your desk. Somebody snatched it up and ran off like a comet thief. We're waiting for our little Blue Choo lights. Come on. And Dick lasers. Where are the Dick lasers? I've let so many people down. And we've got a special deal for you. Listeners get 10% off your first month with Blue Choo gold with a code SPIKE911. That's promo code SPIKE911. Visit bluechoo.com for more details, important safety information. And we thank Blue Choo for sponsoring the podcast. What is that important safety? Don't take too much. Don't take the shot. Oh, that's good. We're also sponsored today by Race Deck. Over two decades ago, Race Deck was invented. And that does not cause the same kind of boner. That's a different kind of boner. Race Deck is a cost-effect durable, truly do-it-yourself modular floor system engineer for the garage. I was down at my hangar just yesterday. We were loading in your Mercedes, the 190 that the mechanic is working on. We found this master mechanic right behind me in the hangar. Really? Behind my hangar, Cinematic Airport. So now we're shuttling Zuckerman's cars down there. He's in the working on the 190 Evo. It's fantastic. Whoa. And he came over and he said, nice floor. And I said, that's Race Deck. The original modular flooring system, 33 patents proudly made in the USA. Installs in just hours. No smelly glues or adhesive mess. It just snaps in. Handles vehicle rolling loads in excess of 80,000 pounds. Check out racedeck.com. Use code SPIKE356 for an exclusive 15% off and free shipping. Thank you, Race Deck. We need to come up with some better codes. What could be like SPIKE9083? What happened to 911? That's a pretty good code. Sometimes people watch the show and then they take the codes and put them on massive coupon sites. So we have to keep changing the game. SPIKE GT3. SPIKE M2CS. Yes. Wow. That would be a big switch off Porsche stuff. SPIKE Blue Chew Gold. That would be pretty good. Yeah. Let's talk about Waymo. Let's do those wacky Waymos right now. Waymo was called, the head of Waymo, somebody from Waymo was called to testify. Dr. Pena was called to do a congressional hearing to talk about where the operators that are monitoring Waymos are based. Here it is right here. And this is what was revealed. They're in the Philippines apparently. Wow. So that means if something goes wrong in your Waymo, hello. There's a guy like that chiming in. Well, I mean. And you know, first of all, I feel a little conflicted with everything, you know, and I don't want to get into it, but with everything that's going on in the world and everything that's being revealed about the people running the world, why Waymo's getting called in in front of Congress. All right. So we got to put that in perspective. But let's go to the clip of the guy talking here. You guys put your headphones on just for a sec. I love this guy. This guy is Dr. for some reason. Dr. Pena. Dr. Pena is the guy Waymo sent. He looks like he's been up for about eight days snorting Coke. Eight straight days. Snorting Blueju. All right. Here we go. And this guy, by the way, has faced more consequences than anyone in the FC file. Go ahead. These operators located outside the United States? Yeah. Some are located abroad. Yeah. So for me, that's fairly shocking. Waymo has critical safety employees who may need to intervene in a split second if a Waymo encounters an unknown dangerous situation located in the United States. But they are... Who put you in? The people. In what countries are these employees located? The Philippines. Excuse me? The Philippines. So they are in the Philippines. Okay. That's enough. Mr. Penguin, you are a personal injury attorney. There was one more thing. He asked what the breakdown was. Okay. Go ahead. And then you see him looking like he doesn't know. Okay. The phony face. If I was taking his deposition... Unacceptable. And here's why. Having people overseas influencing American vehicles is a safety issue. Information the operators receive could be out of date. It could introduce tremendous security. Yeah, once it gets to the Philippines, it's out of date. We don't know if the people have US driver's licenses. That's true. And let's not forget, Waymo is trying to replace the jobs of hardworking taxi and rideshare drivers. And you're saying that of the human beings, the human jobs that remain in the system, you're shipping those jobs overseas. Valid. Yes, valid. One thing when a taxi is replaced by an Uber or a Lyft, it's another thing when the jobs just go completely overseas. All right. Well, you can tell us what happens there. Well, what he does, they ask him, they ask him, how many people... He said somewhere in the United States, somewhere in the Philippines, he was asked what the split was. And he looked like a little kid when asked about something they done wrong. And they said, not Dr. Peña. No. Did Dr. Peña, by the way, he's going back to Spectre headquarters where number one, number one is going to press a button and he falls into the shark pond. So he's done. Yeah, he's absolutely done. So, and any sort of deposition or anything like this, suck them in, these guys are rehearsed, right? They know generally what's going to be asked. Yeah, but then, not everybody is an expert liar. And then I've been taking depositions for 30 plus years. And so when I see certain tells on the face, when someone looks up to the right for the answer, like a little kid lying, you know, when you just start, you know, is that what he did? Yeah, he was bad. So up to the right is bad. Up to the right is bad or fake concentration. Like everything else is going smoothly. He has answers. Then he's asked something that he should know when he puts on a bad actor. So when you see him, so let's say you were taking this guy's deposition and this is it and you have a jury sitting there. Do they know that or do you have to call attention to it as a lawyer? It's a delicate balance. You know what I'm saying? People generally know and you know, you might have a somewhat incredulous voice. You can't, you know, you see, really? You don't know. Objection argumentative. I withdraw my question. You know, so there's a you create a little drama there is a little bit. You know, who would know that? Where would that be written down? Perhaps the person that was sent to Congress on behalf of Waymo. But also, hang on, should we bring them in here? But the senator who's grilling this guy is I'm sure is on the appropriation committee for the fucking drones operated out of Reno. Right. Currently bombing Yemen is while the hearings going on. You know what I mean? It's there's a lot of theaters. It's just such bullshit. And by the way, it's like it's like when you call Marriott at midnight and someone in India answers the phone, they want English speakers in different time zones. You know, I'm not here. They used to be able to get people to stay up all night long in America. It's cheaper. Let's just go labor cost. But it's not like but I don't you the general premise of this something happens in a waymo, which we put on the show. It seems every week something's going wrong with a waymo. I remember it like 10 shows back. There was a guy on his way to the airport for the holidays or something and he got stuck. You remember he was going in circles. He was going in circles. He pressed the button and then someone from the Philippines is there. Or the Waymo drives through a live police situation with guns drawn. That you wouldn't want someone in the Philippines. But this is our future. And you look at like Uber made certain accommodations, right? They said to the California legislature, listen, let us lower our insurance coverage for passengers. Right. And we'll let the drivers unionize. But guess what? They know the drivers are going away. Yeah. So that's they it's a phony give, right? They gave something that isn't going to exist anymore. This guy touched on something you touch on a lot, which is we're really giving control of a fleet of cars to another country. Yes. He said that in this hearing. So they can control cars in the US from where they are in the Philippines. But but it touched on this. Everything is software. So who controls the software? Who controls the cloud? Right. I'll tell you a little Waymo story. So at great at great white the other morning, somebody got out of an Waymo. Great white is a restaurant in West Hollywood. On Melrose. Don't assume. Yes. And thank you. And so somebody shut the door and then the thing started saying, please shut the door. And please shut the door. Then it the volume increases. Somebody's trying to shut the door. From it's blasting it out. It's blasting it out. And this is going on for a half hour. And and and I didn't take it. But eventually. They shut the door. Eventually a man on a scooter arrived. There's some gentleman from Manila or Karachi. You know, he came all the way on his little scooter. And you know, and it's like mysterious. Where's the scooter from? I don't I don't know. But he came and and he then had a tinker with it. The Waymo. Yeah. So there's there's scooter mechanics for Waymo. Floating apparently. Apparently. Yes. That I guess the person from Manila calls the scooter farm in LA and and and then some little guy rolls up and and does something and takes scooter into the Waymo and gets it to go away. After. Well, let's not just beat up on the robots. This also happened here in Los Angeles. This is just a lovely clip of a car losing control and crashing into a fire hydrant. Here he comes. Here's a human driver. Bang goes up. And watch this. Just like the car goes. Just like the Toto electric toilet. It cleans the ass of whatever piece of shit car this is. Oh, that's great. And lifts it into the air. Fantastic. Look at these guys. They have to show up for this bullshit. Waymo doesn't do this. We could. All right. Wash that engine right out of your hair. It's a nice image. Why don't we like this image so much? Just because it's just wrecking the fucking dumb car. It's also like you said, cartoon physics at work. Yeah. Don't you feel like there's so much of GTA in everyday life of LA driving? Well, you saw that old lady going to the bakery with tragic consequences. I did. Yeah. I didn't want to talk about that. But she that was real pedal confusion. Like we've talked about that, you know, she just drives right into it. And she put it. She put the ball right in the pocket. I mean, she went she couldn't have hit that curb cut better to go right through. Right. And go in there. What the hell is happening in that moment? And but what happened? There were so many people. What were people buying in that place? Well, it's a grocery store. What what do you buy there? What do you buy? Coleslaw. They were buying Coleslaw. It was the bakery. Oh, God. Who's the baker? Birthday cakes on Saturday. There's not. I mean, Zuckerman, you've ruined so many experiences for me. Like I was getting. Thank you. You're welcome. My son goes, we're playing tennis. He goes, let's go get cheeseburgers. I'm like, fantastic. There's no family interference, no mom interference. We go we're we order these burgers, we sit outside and but we have close proximity to San Vicente Boulevard, which is a strong one. That one. Yep. And I say to James, we should move inside. He goes, why? I got Zuckerman's accidents in my head. It's the accident we're talking about. Someone could just come right in. You won't even have a chance to react. It happens a lot, right? Yeah. Is there that much pedal confusion going on? Is that most of what this is? No, this pedal for older people crashing into their homes is pedal confusion. There's there's a lot of that. I know people, you know, okay, electric cars with instantaneous torque and power, pedal confusion can really lead to dire consequences. You have accidents where someone's going fast and gets knocked off course. Are folks calling you about this Westwood accident? They haven't called me. What will happen in this case, and I guarantee you what will happen in this case, is that with three deceased and four critically injured, there will be an argument that somehow that market should have been hardened, that there should have been, I guess, pipe bollards or some other kind of strengthening of that building so that there wouldn't be vehicle intrusion, do I necessarily think that that is a winning case? I mean, was this right in the center of Westwood? Just south of Westwood, just a couple of blocks south of Wilshire Boulevard, on the southeast corner. What kind of car was it? It was a little electric car. A little electric car, yeah. Yeah, but not generally a place where you. I don't think that the building of the landlord really is on the hook for, I don't think the way this came in was really foreseeable, but people will argue otherwise. She was in a waymo when that happened. So you say. Well, something else would happen. Some warped news. US dealers are in full panic mode after Canada. Greenlight's Chinese cars. Now look, look America, these two fools, not these two, one of them, told me I was crazy that soon Chinese cars are going to be sold here in the United States, and that the American car manufacturer big trouble. And now look where we are, look at how close we are. Now, three weeks after I said it, Canada green lights Chinese cars. What does that mean beginning early 2026? Canada is allowing the import of 49,000 Chinese made cars. Soon that will be rising to 70,000 units. And it's before long. Folk BYD anticipated to be selling cars in Canada. Before long, they're going to be here, Johnny, in the US. Do you know why? Let me, this is the simplest thing. This is the simplest reason. They're good. BYD is making great cars. And eventually the consumer's going to go, I want it. And, you know, again, this is why we were supposed to be developing electric cars. And we should not give it another reason. It's a little FU to perhaps the president. Right now it would appear shot across the bow. Okay, you want to be me to us. You don't want to be a very nice partner. Why don't we look elsewhere for friends? Well, also look, the Canadian market's about the same size as California. It's not quite as wealthy, but, you know, 40 million people. Mexico's had Chinese cars for a couple years. Mexico's 80 million people, something like that. Mexico, interestingly, though, they love their Chinese cars, but they just raise their tariff on Chinese cars from 20 to 50%. So that's actually taking out the price advantage. Right. I don't know. I didn't read the whole. I don't know what that is that I'm looking at here, but it looks pretty good. But look at it. That's looking like. They're not a CEO there. It's bad for our industry. It's bad for our country. It's bad for consumers. No, sir. It's great for consumers. It's bad for you. It's really bad for the industry. It's bad for your industry. Yeah. I mean, but I don't know if they're going to let them in with. It sounds like they're limiting the number. And I don't know if they're going to, if they're going to have a tariff on top of that. Because the labor, you look, I mean, you have the, the, their state sponsored. You don't even, so in other words, they get money from the Chinese government, which we also bail out the US cars. And we have special things. But anyways, and then the labor costs are very, very, very low for the same quality output. So that's their advantage. And so Mexico is dealing with that. I don't know if Canada is going to have tariffs on top of that. We'll find out. Yeah. But yeah, no, I mean, this look, this is to Jim Farley said, this is what keeps them up all night every night. He's got one of these cars. He's driving one. They're, I mean, I went to Vegas and drove nine Chinese cars and like, they're all fine. Yeah. Yeah. Here they come. And they're being snuck in like so Volvo. This will be spikes Chinese car radio after a long, but all right, let's move on. Let's move on because I have some good news. Oh, there's a new presence, a couple new presences on Instagram that are really making me happy. One is parking is a hard guy. It's fair to call him. He could have been inspired by you, Johnny bumper sticker bandit is his name. Let's go to his first video right here. This guy finds people who can't park correctly, which annoys all of us and puts bumper stickers that can't come off on their car. So here we have a lady that took up two spots and this is what he did. Go ahead, play it. He's got some music there. We might not be able to play nice credence cut right there. Look, she's not even that far over and this is him. He's as furious as we all are. He takes the right bumper sticker and then which one does he pick? Look at this, Suckerman. This is fantastic. Just goes for it. And that's a real ass bad adhesive bumper sticker. This is another one of his clips here. This is some lady who had part. Look at her parking job. How far off she is right there and he's already put the sticker on and this is her reaction to the sticker. Go ahead. What happened? He put stickers on my windows and now they want them off. Look at your parking job. Did you see the parking, Suckerman? This is what he did. I don't care about disabled people. We love this guy and he's even gotten political. This guy, look at this is what he did to a Cybertruck. Check out this. I need so can we get some of these stickers? Look, I would say yes. No one seems to deliver them, Suckerman. Wow. He went there. These are just random stickers. That guy's not even parked that badly. That's my point. So look, I've started parking. That's not wait. Yes, go ahead. And people are always like, here's some stickers. You should vandalize other people's cars. And I'm like, I don't believe in vandalizing other people's cars. It sucks to park like that. It's really not the end of the world. I just think humiliating them on the internet is enough. I think this is for me. This is just step too far? One step too far. Don't fuck with people's cars. I kind of like the first. Come on, we've someone put a sticker on your car. I don't park bad. I don't park bad. You never parked bad. You've never. Come on. Come on. Never. And also the Bronco on the Saswatch wheel. Hard to park in a lot of spots. No, but I have parked in the handicapped spot a bunch. You have? Yeah. That's awful. Okay. Your cars should be vandalized. That's horrible. What I was waved in by the guy, the valega. Okay. That's different. The vanguards are allowed. That's different. If there's a valet parker, they're allowed to direct your use. But still it doesn't feel right. But they're like, this spot is the only spot open. You have to park there. Valets are allowed to do that. That's different. That's different. But it's like, I know. But you're not there to kind of say I was put there. You know what I mean? So it still feels awkward. But I was going to a Chargers game and we were parking as a nightmare. And my buddy's like, hey, I know you're probably not into it, but I have a handicapped placker. And I was like, go fuck yourself. Yeah, yeah. He's all right. All right. All right. In a second, Shannon Hopper is going to come out and tell us about Platica, which is in Tennessee, big Porsche show hanging out. But first we're going to talk about battery tender. Guess what? What? When I'm at my hanger and things go wrong, which is all the time, battery tender is there for me. The hanger of horrors. Not long ago, the 911 ST lithium batteries seized up. Just stopped working as lithium batteries do. Just don't drive those cars with lithium batteries in it. After two weeks, they just, they go cold. They go dead. Don't make him. Yeah. My battery tender was there and I was able to jumpstart the car. And I am now forever in love with battery tender. Everybody knows battery tender makes the most trusted battery chargers. I agree with that statement, but the lineup also includes jump starters, charging starts a two and one charger, jump start. The whole deal is not coming. You plug this thing in, it does everything you want it to do. And it's ready for you. Truster cross vehicles, cars, motorcycles and boats. It's amazing. Nothing is worse than when you're stranded and you have to call triple A or somebody else. Now see that thing right there? That's what you want. Get yourself one of them things. Toss it in your car. Trust me. Get the charge and start. You'll be so happy you did. 15% off now is what we're offering you guys. You can go to battery tender.com with code spike 911. 15% off. Just buy some battery tender stuff, throw it in your garage. And trust me, that day will come where you're writing a thank you note to battery tender. Oh yeah. For helping you. I swear, I called Kaley who does our advertising, not the last guy who stole six figures of money. Not that guy. The new people, Neon Tiger, not the Sam guy who's a thief. Thief. Comment. Everybody should know that. The new girl, I called and I said, will you please tell battery tender that they saved me so much time. I was writing a thank you card. He hasn't written his thank you cards for his bar mitzvah gifts. I was forced to at the point of a bridge. Anyway, I did. I did. I was so grateful because the last time that happened was the GT3RS. Do you remember? Yes. Yes. And that was five hours. At this time, it was five minutes with battery tender. I mean, this is no lie. This is, I'm not lying to you on this one. Modern management made simple. All right, let's bring in this 9-11-R and talk to our friend Shannon Harper. Shannon, nice to meet you, man. Yeah, nice to meet you. I got to tell you, I remember I have no idea what platica was, aside from being an extremely weird word. But I remember where you were all over the internet, it was this collection of Carrera GTs that none of us had ever seen before. Yeah. Out in the woods somewhere. Yeah. And then you look more closely and it's a quarry of some kind, and it's in Tennessee. Knoxville, Tennessee. Knoxville, Tennessee. Beautiful Knoxville, Tennessee. And the reason it was kind of viral is because all of those elements, what kind of quarry? Quartz. It was a marble quarry. Marble quarry, Carrera GTs, and Tennessee aren't three things that you normally see combined. And you realize here's a sliver of the automotive universe that we don't know about. Right. Not only that, look at that. I know. An impressive show going on with a very interesting name. So apparently, I guess you can take us through this. Was this the very first show that you put on? And this is, I guess, an offshoot of Harper Portia, a dealership in Tennessee? Yes, sir. So this is our second show, but the Portia wanted us to have lifestyle community events. So the first one was a huge hit. Right. So we said, let's create something that is a separate entity from, it's not a dealership show. Right. So this is the second year. So when they come to you, do you guys have a meeting and go, okay, look, they want us to be an experience more than just a place that sells cars? Yes. We're opening ideas. Did someone raise their hand and go, how about Portia Pilates? Yeah. Like they did in San Francisco. Did someone really say that? Uh, yeah. Yeah. What did they say? No, wait, wait, wait. Which Portia Pilates? Remember Portia Pilates? We did it on the show a few weeks back. Maybe you weren't here, but there was a, it was this directive from Portia. So make the dealership more of an experience, right? And we have like Santa Clarita, Portia Santa Clarita, Portia Clearwater. They have these great car shoes, cars and coffees and things. Pilates. But somewhere they did a Portia Pilates and they just put out a piece of social media of a woman stretching on a car and we were like. When you were writing for Letterman and somebody pits that, wouldn't you dismiss that as preposterously stupid? They wouldn't be pitching that in a letter. But you don't want to pitch a Pilates. No. It would be too, yeah. It's too much. It's too, it's like. The alliteration of it, it just doesn't sound right. Anyway, so in your meeting, someone pitched what? Yoga in the Portia Show. What? What? We don't know. Hot yoga or just regularly yoga? It would just be, we don't, we can't create the temperature up at all. So you said, you were there, I'm guessing, you said, okay, good idea. This is good. What? Let's make something that fits our audience a little bit better. Right. This, this is what we came up with. So you wanted to have this experience in this very nice venue, which is also a wedding venue, but it's a former marble quarry. And did you have a name for it right off the bat? What does, what does Platica mean? Where does it come from? So the first year was on Cinco de Mayo. So we went to one of our office managers and who's Hispanic and I said, hey, give me some cool Portia alliteration and Spanish and she goes, well, Portia Platica. I was like, what does that mean? She goes, Portia chat. Right. Portia chat. It's a great way to kind of sum up the event. And you just went with that? Yeah. There were no, Portia Platica, sure. We've been corrected on the pronunciation. Yeah. I mean, part of it, What's the actual pronunciation? I've been told by my West Coast friends is Platica. Platica. Yeah. But us Rednecks in Tennessee, we can't pronounce that very well. So it's so, it's so eclectic in its execution all again. I mean, this is really where it triggers the writer in me is all of the elements are not related. Yeah. Marble quarries, Porsches. Yeah. Platica. Yeah. You see what I mean? Oh, yeah. Here is related, which makes me like it. It's inventive and it's new. So this was last year. What are, what are we featuring this year? And this event takes place one. May 3rd in Knoxville. 2026. So we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the 9-11-R. Okay. So we have a huge selection of 2016 9-11-Rs. And we actually have four of the original 20 9-11-Rs committed as well. There were 24 though. There were 20 passenger cars and four Proto's. Exactly. Where are the prototypes? We talked to one of the guys who's building a prototype last night. None of the prototypes are coming, but we have some of the, we're working on number one. Number one would be cool. Do you think those are out in, you know, Genpah? I've driven both of these cars, by the way. These are, these are two of my favorite 9-11s in the world. The old and the new 9-11-R. You can't beat these cars, but I mean, you may not know, but are these prototypes, did they stay at the factory? Or is there, I'm assuming there's one in the museum, right? Sometimes they give them to development drivers, stuff like that. Like, you know, like, I know like Walter Rohl famously bought his 9-59 development car. My favorite story is the Steve McQueen, Burt Olander, who worked at Circle Porsche, but was originally at Foschek Pollock, gave it to Steve McQueen. He picked it up on a Friday. He goes, I want you to drive this. This is in 67. He came back on Monday, handed them the keys and said, I will get too many speeding tickets. I'll get arrested if I buy this car for me. And in my hand, I'm just like, what are you talking about, dude? Why would you not buy that? He may not have liked it. That's a polite way of saying not for me. Well, if he, you know, to your point, the first time I drove a 911 R at the 67, I was very disappointed because it felt so light and overpowered. It felt like it was a heavy chassis and engine and then kind of paper mache on top, you know, and loud and loud, loud, loud, loud, you know, now, now I crave that car. I crave it, right? Have you driven one? I have not driven one. No, you've driven the 2016. Yeah, I have a 2016 that we've tracked and used thoroughly. Oh, you have. Oh, yes. Fantastic. They're terrific. I mean, they're great cars. No, no, I mean, you know, the first time I drove one, I couldn't believe what they had put together. It's, it's, I always, you know, like the GT3, it really is a track car. You know, it's, they're always thought of for the track to me. It was like, this is like a factory street rod, like a factory hot rod. It's just everything you would do to a 911 to make it like the best street car. Mm-hmm. And I, yeah. And then also the light fly wheels. Yeah. The chatter. Worth all the money in the world. Yeah. It's the coolest thing. So are we going to see something big? Like, you know. Should we come? I think. No, yeah. Well, coming. Yeah, of course. But, but, you know, this Carrera GT picture is really what you have to best now. Yeah. You know what I mean? Are you going to be able to execute on besting it? Are you trying that? We, we're working on some secret stuff. So, no, very under promise over deliver. Really? But all to celebrate the 911R. Yeah. Yeah. So this is all about the 911R. But we, we really, first and foremost, we want to have an event that passes the wife test. Would your wife want to go to this or not? That's smart. And this is a, it passes the wife test. And what do you do to lure in the wife? It's, it's a lot of these. What? It's like that. Exactly. We're going to stretch. Targaritos. The Targaritos are really good. So. Look, I don't think this is specific to wives and women. I think it's always good when an event is just fun. And, you know, one thing we learned from Looft when they started doing this was just some good music, some great food, just good, a nice vibe, you know, not a lot of judging cars. And this isn't right. And it's just a nice, you know, time. And then whether it's your husband or your wife, everybody has a nice time. And it's, it's, it's just fun, right? It's not a cars and coffee. Yeah. There's no, there's no hoods pop. There's no guys sitting in lawn chairs. With cargo shorts? Cargo shorts. There's no. You kind of wonder. Two though. I, I, I, like, like, they're going to show up anyway. Like the helm shows. We, it was inexplicable. There was these two old dudes in Nissan, like 280ZX's. Yeah. And they got there. They didn't talk to anybody. Whipped out the folding chairs, sat there. They had their, their rags. They had like information about the car. No one cared. So, so what, it's just a fun hang in the quarry. We're just hanging out. It's a social event, celebrating water cooled, air cooled, race cars. I was asking you before the show, where are all these Portia guys? Where are they mostly coming from? You were saying Atlanta? Well, you know, the majority is within a 200 mile radius. So Nashville, Atlanta, Charlotte, Virginia area. But we've had people. I would say you have some Texas in that last photo. I reckon there's a couple of those. Texas and there's, there's, we have some people coming from Austria this year flying over. So. Aren't the two global? The Portia people are great, I think. Isn't that amazing? They're going to Tennessee. They're going to Tennessee. You're seeing this as if he's going to like Zimbabwe. Tennessee. It's a, it's a three hour flight from here. It's not that bad. I wouldn't, I don't go anywhere anymore. But still, I mean, somebody flying in from Austria to go see the show is cool. I love that. I just love Portia people. I love that they will show up support. And then the, you know, Austrian Germans, they find out about American meat and then they want to move here and have beef like this. That's right. You brought a very special 9-11R here with you. This isn't your car, by the way. Is it? No, no, this is our, this is our friend Michael's car that we're, we're shooting a series of 9-11R owner videos to kind of create some, some buzz around the event. And so we came out here to do the podcast and we shot. We're going to throw it right up on the monitor there and you can just tell us a little bit about it. This car almost looks black. This car. I miss, I miss these cars. God, didn't Zuckerman have one of these? He, I think he had two. Yeah. Yeah. He had two? No, he had two 4.0s. Yeah, yeah. Moran sold of two 4.0s. Oh man, that's a bad move. Uh, yeah. So this is, did you just call him a moron? I, if he was here, I'd call him a moron. Yeah, he sold two. No, I, I mean, I helped consult on all of those things. You're also, there was an RS. There was an RS. I'll slip into you. But there was a divorce involved in partners in there. Right. It wasn't his fault. No, I know. It wasn't his fault. I mean, I lost the GT2 RS that way too. You did. The job. A good one. A good one. Yeah. The best one. But this car, all right. So this car is, they're, that Porsche made 90 paint sample versions. Okay. And this is not only paint sample, this is truly special wishes. So you notice the hood is black, which is very much an outlaw kind of nod to the outlaw scene. Color matched wheels, the Pegasus on the door inside is, still has the brown interior, but Michael did a lot of little special brown bits as well. So the interior is very tasteful, but a lot of special wishes on this car. Did the Pegasus come from Porsche or is that something he stuck on from Etsy that he found? That's the mobile one. Pegasus. Yeah, no, I know. But you know what I'm saying? Did it come, it did. It was a special wishes. Wow, cool. Open up the door and there's a, the door card. Oh, wow. Very nice. You see in the door sill, Jack, there's, there is a one fast beetle. I'm a snow-cafa. Oh, wow. That's cool. One fast beetle. This is a beautiful car. These cars make me crazy. God, they're good. Where have they gone up in value now? Where's a 911 R at right now? They're in the mid-fives. Paint sample versions are million plus. Really? Well, they, they, when they first had this car come out, the 918 VIPs had the opportunity to buy them. Everyone thought this was the last manual Porsche. Right. So they shot up to like a million dollars and then the GT3 Tourings came out and I wouldn't realize they're not going away with the manuals. So they settled down close to down around 200, 250. But in the last, since we announced Platica celebrating them, they've skyrocketed. No, they've, they've been coming up over the last market manipulation. Well, no, I think it has more to do with the ST and then the folks that couldn't get STs, then they went back to the 911 R again. It's really impressive. There are cars like the GT2 RS dove down, you know, and then started scooting up again. Is there really that much of a price disparity though in these 911 Rs? 500 to over a million just for paint to sample? Well, there's 90 of them are paint to sample. Right. And they initially weren't going to do the paint to sample in these cars. And toward the end, they were able to get some VIP guys. They've said, well, I really need a paint to sample. And then so they started doing most of the paint to sample special wishes card to the end of the run. It's so funny. Like they just didn't know like the whoever's making the decisions, which wasn't Proonger, but like he said, Hey, I want to do all of these with a lightweight flywheel. Yeah. The board was like, No, you'll never sell them all. He said he had to fight to make a manual only. And they were like, No, right, right. And so the take rate was over 90% for the light flywheel. In fact, most people that got the light, they didn't get it, sent it back to get the light flywheel. And then the ST 100% light flywheel. Yeah. I said the dual mass flywheel is probably a 50 to $100,000 value deduct. And a full 50% of those guys who bought it complained about the noise of the flywheel. Of course. It's broken. Of course. Right. Bring them in. Yeah. Yeah. No, that's true with the ST. Yeah. Oh yeah. They flew in a mechanic, somebody from Porsche to go, No, no, this is just what, that's a racing flywheel. That's what you're supposed to sell. Yeah. Yeah. These cars are so, you know what I remember about them is just the balance between all the systems. Like from the stick shift, the break, the sound, everything is like perfectly calibrated. It's one of these really perfect things that Porsche has made. The ST is way more muscular and aggressive. This thing is down from there and it's just nice. It's such a nice, unique driving experience that you don't get with the rest of the 911. It's so funny you say that because I drove a 911 R and ST at the same time. And it was like, yeah, the ST is like, again, nothing wrong with the ST, but it's boring on too much. Where this is like the Goldilocks like it really is what I want. It's just a good street car. And it steers better than the ST because it has, who was steering in that, the ST doesn't. You know, so it's, it's, yeah. We just need prices to go down though. How do we do that, Shannon? How do we price fix it, your dealership? Oh, I can't. These things cheaper. I can't. Markets and manipulation. Should we start on the show by saying how poorly they drive? It's just a waste of money. Yeah. We could take this one on our hands. Shattering flywheel is very loud. Yeah. So loud. Your M2 CS has more horsepower. That's right. You have to say in like, come on. These are terrible cars. Horde, Horde. Which green is this? Brewster. Brewster. That's a Brewster green car. Wow. It's really beautiful. So when we come, you're not going to tell us how many of these 911 hours you're going to see. Well, I want to know how many 67s we're going to see. Who cares what these are? Diamond doesn't. I would guess, I think he's going to be delivering at least half the run. We, we're working toward that. We get, we get four committed right now. Wow. Yeah. Really? That's great. Yeah. That's a lot. That, I've never seen more than one in one place. So that's amazing. Wow. Yeah. Tony Callis has two at his shop right now, but number one. Tony Callis is always trying to get in touch with me for some reason. It's a nonstop. Someone said that a tow guy dropped a car off and he goes, do you know Tony Callis? I went, oh my God, Tony, give it up. He goes, you know, Tony Callis called me and said, if you call him back. And I was like, why? It was confusing. Like I think I'm having Shannon on. He's got 911 hours. What does Tony Callis have to do with this? Do people think you have Zuckerman's big role? I think he, I thought for a minute it was Charlie Callis. The old comedian. Hey, that this might take my life and this would be a comedy call of some kind. But no, but it's Tony. He's got a 911 hour that he's, he's working on two. He's working on number one, the BP World Record Car. And then, correct, 18 or 19. I can't remember there. He's doing a full restoration on that has been working on since 2009. It's so those, those full restorations are dangerous though, because I remember the one Jerry had, which I remember hooning through studio city and bottoming out everywhere, speaking of rebar stories and just laughing like that. But it was a Jerry going crazy. It was a, we were laughing. It was a, it's a unrestored original 911R. Right. That he then sold because it was in its state, it's, they're not the easiest things to drive. Unless you're going to track it. It's a race car. You're buying a race car. Exactly. Right. Yeah. And the person who bought it fully restored it. 100%. It showed up at Looft. It was unrecognizable and stupid in its current form. And it was just like, oh, what, what was there originally was so perfect. You know what I mean? Yeah. It's a race. You know, so that's, you know, do you, do we have any of these original condition 911Rs? Do we, are we going to have that or, or a faithful restoration that isn't just, hey, let's make everything new? I mean, I think of the four, one is the Orange Hood car that's in the Southeast now. I think most of them are tastefully redone, but they're, they're definitely none of them that are questionable whether it's a real car or not. The Revs Institute has one. We're working with them. They're, they're in the process of going, changing their corporate structure. So we're still counting on Revs to show up. That's a cool car. So maybe the person who did this and said, hey, we do need to come. They have a beautiful 911R. Yeah. They have a beautiful everything. Yeah. They should be sending it up. What does that mean to change in their corporate structure? That sounds like somebody's name is only there. Oh, Mr. Rev here with the J E Epstein. We're having a change for a corporate structure. There's a lot of weird car news in the Epstein files. Have you seen? No. A lot about driving a manual and not driving just a lot of weird stuff. Why are we doing that? I'll have to because it's to find it. It's really depressing. Yeah. That's right. A lot of depression. Fucked up shit. Yeah. Yeah. But but but but there's Ben Cargis putting stuff out. Conversations about Lamborghinis and conversations about, I don't want to drive a manual. Nobody drives a manual. Let's just get it. Right. Things like that. And oh, so maybe Epstein killed the manual. It wasn't the one. I have to find this. There was one that talked about his image. You don't want that car because your image, and this was him advising someone. People will think you're this. Oh, right. Yeah. Mr. Dramage. Well, what about what I'm doing? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. People might also think. You got to think about your image. Also there's a new Brazilian nine year old. Don't say that. Look at these two green together. That's a lovely shot right there. That is a really nice shot, Jack. Yes, Jack. Jack. That's beautiful. That's really nice, those two cars together. That's an Instagram post. Well, this is really exciting, Shannon. Yeah. I really appreciate you traveled all the way from Tennessee to come talk to us. Yeah. Must have been a 10 day journey by carts. By mule pack. Yeah, mule pack. But I'm super excited. Your event is already a massive success. How do folks get involved if they want to show a car? How do folks buy tickets? So tickets go on sale March 3rd. OK. The event is May 3rd. And you can go to Porsche-Platica.com or just Google Porsche-Platica. And we'll be releasing all the 911R owner videos on Instagram. Wow. Awesome. This is big. You're onto a big thing. What's the Instagram account? Porsche underscore Platica. Is that the girl who came up with Platica right there? That's Aisha Coker. She's the vice president of marketing for Porsche. And she did a nice owner video for that's a Gulf Blue 911R that's never been photographed or seen. This is Gulf Blue R. You just killed me. That's Spike. Yeah. With three words. You're going to sleep for two days now. No, look at what I know. Look, my whole spine collapsed when you just said that. But I know you. This is the ultimate thing. That's a Spike car right there. Yeah. So we shot that. I should do that video for us at Porsche headquarters in Atlanta. So Porsche is North American involved or Porsche global? Are they everybody involved? Well, you know, Aisha came and the CEO of Porsche, John and some of the other Porsche guys came last year and they said this is a blast. Yeah, it's big. Next year and they've been a huge support. Timo, the CEO has put me in connection with a ton of great collectors like Mike. Yeah. No, it's big. I mean, I love everything about it. I love that it's not New York, LA or all the other things. It's a whole new thing. It's fun. Although, you know, Taylor Dragon. I was just saying, but not feeling amazing and getting kind of like. No, no, no. Still good. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah. And they've got great driving right there, too. Oh, Tennessee were number one in and roads. Yep. Were last in education. So, yeah. But like number two or three in alcohol poisoning. Yeah, I was going to say. We're right in the middle for moonshine distilleries. And there's one shot of the license plate that came and I were looking at earlier that that I think you all would like. So this is the original owner, career GT in Zanzibar Red. And check out the tag on his car. Better than sex. That's OK. He writes. OK. Don't know if I agree, but close. Yeah. And he got around it at the DMV. He said, no, no, that's better than NSX. Oh, I see. Yeah, much better than accurate. Absolutely. Do we think he's having sex with his car? Yes. Why he wrote that? I don't like when people put sexuality near automobiles. The haunches. You ever hear a guy talk about a car like that and go, oh, look at the hunch. So that it gets like, OK, dude, if you're going to Aston Martin every once in a while, though, there is some real feminine curviness. Oh, you're one of those guys. No, I try not to be. You're one of those guys. The worst porn ever written was. Oh, no. OK. We can stop. We can stop. Boris Johnson. That's our show. Boris Johnson. No. The former PM will get it. No one's interested in your car pornography conversation. He did a Ferrari review. Google Boris Johnson for our review. It's the worst porn ever written. Boris Johnson did. Yeah. All right. It's horrible for us. We're at a show time. We got to go. We got to go. Johnny, you and I are going to drive the M2CS or I'm going to drive it. Yeah, that's awesome. Go to Patreon if you're a Patreon subscriber, if you're not too bad. And Shannon, thank you. Very nice to meet you. And I'm sure we're going to be hearing a lot more about you and your show. It's big. Congrats. Thank you. We'll see you next week. Spikes, car radio. 500 orders a month was manageable. 5,000 is madness. Embrace intelligent order fulfilment with ShipStation.
