•Dec 12, 20256 months agoSummary
The hosts discuss major automotive news including Toyota's new GR GT supercar with a twin-turbo V8, the upcoming mid-engine GR MR2, Lewis Hamilton's disappointing Ferrari season, and market trends showing depreciation in exotic cars like the Lotus Eletre while classic sports cars maintain value.
Insights
- Toyota is successfully positioning itself as a performance brand by leveraging profits from mainstream vehicles (RAV4, Camry) to fund enthusiast cars with manual transmissions and gas engines when competitors are abandoning them
- Exotic car market shows clear bifurcation: limited-production, historically significant cars (R35 GTR, Porsche Cayman) hold value while mass-produced luxury EVs (Lotus Eletre, Cadillac Lyriq) depreciate severely
- Manual transmissions remain a niche but valuable market segment—green Porsche Cayennes with manuals selling for $70k-$125k despite being unpopular options, proving enthusiast contingents will pay premium prices
- Chinese manufacturing creates tariff and brand perception challenges that undermine pricing strategy, as seen with Lotus Eletre's $250k pricing failing despite early-to-market EV luxury positioning
- Automotive design ownership transitions (Giugiaro/ItalDesign to AI company USD) signal potential shifts in how future vehicles are conceptualized and designed

Hello and welcome to this car pod. I'm Kai. I'm Felipe. And there's a lot to cover starting with the biggest news story of the week, the GR GT, which has some sort of turbo hybrid. Yep, four liter twin turbocharged V8. It's a hot V. Do you know what that is? Well, I know what a hot V is. It means the turbocharger is like inside of the engine or something. But it's not Felipe or Venec. Right, so it's not V. Okay, 640 horsepower, obviously tip only, sadly. No one's talking price yet, including Lexus Toyota. They won't tell us what it costs. They've said it would be over in the six figures. Yeah, that's what they've had to ask. We've seen speculation in the 200 range. We know that, but I was thinking that this car would compete in terms of a halo car against the AMG GT. It looks like it has the same engine out of it. But from what I'm understanding, people are talking 300,000, which is a lot of money. There's also the Lexus version, which is EV only, right? Is that true? Yes. Can we discuss the fact that this is not the most attractive of automobiles? I was astonished when this was revealed. It looks purposeful, but I thought it would be a smoother design. Just sort of like a soupy smooth, like the LC is really called the Supra has a very smooth design. I know, but think about it really. The LFA, the last supercar they did. Not exactly what you call smooth, but these days, angle progressive is the thing that people every manufacturer does. It's just not, I was just thinking it was going to be like a tear dropy smooth kind of city. You're hoping for an RX-7 on that D look. Yeah, but that's what the Supra looks like. If you see a Supra, that is super car. It's not have a lot of ugly angles. I'm honestly surprised. Now, a lot of people insult a lot of new cars when they first see them. And that could be what's going on here, but I am a little bit surprised. I will say I'm very impressed with the power train, the whole situation. Yep. We're going to do a V8. That's awesome. So many people are getting away from that stuff. I'm glad they're going to do a GT3 version of it and take it racing as well. I think it's really important for their brand to know it would be cool. And it's cool that the road going version is not just a homologation car. It's like a standalone road car based on that. It also was rear-wheel drive. And I think that that's important to mention too. It's funny because Toyota doesn't get a lot of credit for being like the performance brand. But they got super, they got GR86. And here they come with a twin turbo V8 with rear-wheel drive. How many people are still doing this? I agree. Not only that, with the competition thing, they're also sponsoring a Haas for Informal One. A lot of manufacturers are saying they're taking performance very seriously. We have and to prove that, we have right here in the office, the new RAV4GR Sport, which folks, I got to tell you this car handles. It's got a wing. Can you tell me, what do you think the GR upgrade, the non-cosmetica GR upgrades are to this GR2 suspension? GR2 suspension. Can you name any others? It's more powerful. No, no. I got nothing. There are no more of it. It is just the suspension. But GR is generally serious with some exceptions such as this RAV4, which by the way, has a $53,000 sticker price. I go back to the price of this. So apparently we'll have about 641 horsepower, 30, 800 pounds. They've at the press launch, they asked, the project manager asked people to think about other cars in that same price point, power point. The AMG GT Pro is $200,000 and has 603 horsepower, weighs a little more. The Vantage S has 671 horsepower, weighs the same, it's $235, base price. Right. It'll be in that category. Do you think just high for Toyota? 200,000 I think it could sell. GTRs were in that range at the end and they weren't selling, but it was also a 15 year old car. And it's still a desirable car as we'll talk about later in this part. But the 300 it become, I don't know, it'll be interesting. The goal, apparently for the LFA or whatever they're calling the Lexus one, which is EV is 350 or under. Yeah, the honest, if they're going to do an EV Lexus one, there will be no interest in it. It will not sell and no one will care about it. The only one that people will care about is keep in mind, it's funny that they're even talking about that, considering that they just canceled the hybrid version of the LC because no one was buying it. In this segment, people want one thing, a big old engine and some big old power. Yep. I think the LFA concept is just that, a concept. So I, I, I, this is spec they could change it to a hybrid drive-fainter, whatever. Or maybe they want to kind of push a electrification, they want to have a halo car for that even before they have mainstream model. But the market doesn't. They might not care. Very interested in this, obviously as a 4GT owner. Oh nice. What do you think that this is sort of the 4GT of Toyota's current lineup? Hmm, anything about that. It's going to raise, it's positioned in the same place. Why not? Same horsepower. What's it say? It's a similar idea. It's a, it's a mainstream brand that sells cameras like forbizel and toruses back in the day. You get my point. My car was built in the US. Yeah, but, but, but, does that's not the same. It's Steve Sailing going to help building his cars. I do always think it's cool when a mainstream brand actually, because they don't have to do this. But they sell in Rev4 woodlands by the truckload. They're there. They don't have to do this. This is cool. This will be cool. I'm excited to see it. And on that subject, the other big Toyota news this week is the MR2, which is apparently imminent. Yeah, they've re-done the panther trademark. So whatever for the name, MR2, it'll be a GR, MR2, apparently. So there's, so in other words, and not a Toyota GR, MR2, like the GR Corolla, etc. There is talk that it may possibly actually be sold under the GR brand as like a new brand is like the first car for this new brand. I will say, the speculation is that this car will use a turbo force, two liter turbo force, one with 400 horsepower, mid-mounted. If that's true, and if it has three pedals, which is possible, because they're not talking EV. You start to wonder why do you buy a Lotus like a new engine? You start to wonder why do you buy anything else. Yeah, that's a very appealing if they do that. It also looks cool. It doesn't look that cool, but it looks pretty cool. So I don't know, in reference to these other like AI generated, it looks pretty cool. This is, if this is real, 400 horsepower, mid-engine, let's talk manual. No one's saying it, but let's talk. They're doing the GR GT. Toyota is like in our hearts and minds. They got the whole line of TRD pros, including the vaunted and famed Sequoia. This is real stuff. This is really cool. Don't you like this? I do like this. I could do without the one square that didn't paint on the wheel. That just, other than that, I think it is, I think it is really cool. It looks like a 4C in a lot of ways. I don't know. And I just, but good. But good. And a 2.96 and a little bit in there. Yeah. There's a little Lotus in the front end. This is the, it looks cool. This thing is cool. This came out truly with a 400 horsepower mid-engine and a manual. And a manual. And a manual, which I think Toyota has learned because there are other two sports cars, the Supra and the GR86 both have manuals. And the GR Carole came out as manual. Manual, although there is now no manual. Now the GR Sport Rev 4, they are not doing a three-pedal version. Oh, they've decided they've, in less the market really demands it. The market share for that. 0.00000. No one would buy it. Then it'd be like the V6 clients on site. Yeah. Remember what? 7080 grand. 2030 years will be an $85,000 car. Of course, developing a manual for nine people will probably be an $85,000 car new. Anyway, I'm super pumped for what's coming out of Toyota right now. In an era where a lot of automakers are giving up on any sort of fun cars, especially cars with gas power, ice engines, this thing is these two cars are like, whoa, wait a minute, Toyota. And in part of the reason they're able to do this is because they sell so many pibards and all these things, they can actually give us cars like they were successfully did their homework, they ate their vegetables and now they have fun. That's exactly what it is. They're like the person who saved all this money and put it in index funds and were trying it at $55. Meanwhile, Chrysler is out here running around with no idea. Now I'm paying the Canadian government. No, not being a Canadian. I'm not even worried and burgers, built in vipers in the 90s and now it's screwed. That's exactly right. So true. They were doing that too though. I'm actually feeling better. Yeah, that's true. Chrysler has been a difficult story. If this thing comes out though, I'm excited about the GR GT. Obviously, it's going to be super cool, whatever. But that's going to be an unattainable expensive. This is really cool. A mid-engine car, even if it's going to be 60, which I bet it will be. It will be, yep. That's pretty cool. Think about what's competing at 400 horsepower. You're talking about Boxster. You're talking about Lotus. Did you get a prelude? Stop it. At that price point. Yep. Yep. It's got two options. You're at 60. All right. What's our next news story? Nothing's going to be able to do it. So at the beginning of the year, we talked about Lewis Hamilton going to Ferrari. And this very famous picture of him now in front of the F40 and everybody was very excited. Well, we're also excited because Ferrari said they were potentially considering doing the idea of a supercar with him. The F-44 was the idea. It was going to be kind of an homage to the F-40. Not the thing that came out earlier this year. It's going to be different. Well, Lewis hasn't had the best season in Formula One. It's actually the worst season of his career. And Ferrari, if you've listened to any interviews with him, he is not hot about the team, the brand, anything. It's all gone quite poorly. And as a result, Ferrari has reportedly shelved, canceled or at least shelved the F-44 project. So they're not thrilled either, it seems. How long is Hamilton going to stick around at Ferrari? I don't know. There was something in Sebastian Vettel. Or I was a Nico Rosberg said that he should not leave Ferrari yet. He should stick around for a little bit. Well maybe there's car trouble. You know, at the start of this year, I predicted this would happen. And you said, no way, it's Hamilton. He's going to be great. Well, that's it. It is too old. He's not going to succeed. Ferrari didn't wind down the tape. Someone hit us with a comment. You also said that I said this year is not relevant. It will be next year that matters. Or just whatever Ferrari thing. I said to the past 19 years now. I'm going to do it. Let's go on next year then. He's only getting older. Well, next year's a big year. The entire formula changes. The cars are completely different. DRS goes away. It's a very different important thing. Yeah, no more DRS dude. The most important thing. That's a huge deal in formula. Cadillac is running and they will win. America, America. Do you think about everything this country's given you? That sweater. You couldn't wear that in Italy. I've been taken seriously. Yeah, it's true. Not South. The good news for Lewis is that he made $60 million this year. Is that true? Something like that. They pay him a lot of money. But he paid 60 million to lose and not get it at the point. No, no. He won the only thing for a one-year, which was a sprint race, which doesn't count for anything. But there are some points. But it was that. I mean, Ferrari had another abysmal year and he seems depressed. And it looked like he was taking a picture in the rain. No, that's a picture. The rest of the world is in Italy. It was all to me. Yeah, but they took away his house. They took away his house. Oh, that's right. That's right. A producer insists that for our gave Lewis Hamilton Enzo's house. They probably didn't take it away, but I bet you he ain't use a note. I bet you he ain't calling anybody like take up a statement. So it's just like I bet there's not a lot of that going. Showed up in the rain after race and they changed the law. So what happens next year in the formula one? When does it start? So it's start first race is the first weekend of March. March coming around the corner. The formula changes periodically, but this one is pretty big. The goal was they wanted to make the car the racing a lot tighter. So a lot of aerodynamic changes. Like I said, the drag reduction system DRS goes away. In what country where the poor human rights record is the first race? Hmm. I don't know. We'll solve it in the middle east. Flipple is like we got it. We got to cut that. Nope. I feel no such need. So we're not going back to Russia. Flipple can't say anything bad about Russians. OK. So in March it starts and that's when you believe this year Lewis Hamilton turning 50 this year. This will be his year turning 50 this. OK. But how old is he? He is 40. Yeah. He'll be turning 41 before the start of the season here. Dude, I got to be honest with you. The best drivers like that fellow who has all the couragey T and Monica. What's his name? The one who's at 40 got crashed by somebody? Oh, Atlanta, North. The current formula one world champion. OK. He won. Congratulations. He's screwing with these 12 years old. He is approximately 12 years old. Yeah. 26. That's the same thing. That's the same thing. We'll see. I would, I think. Dude, who's born in 99? I want to see Lewis Hamilton win eight championships and it would be great to see him win with Ferrari. But admittedly, even as a diehard Ferrari fan, I just don't know how many more years I can take them losing. This is 18 seasons consecutively. We have not won. Which to the team that Landau Norris is on because he seems to win a lot. I'm clearing all the support. I'm going to tell you this and I'm serious about this. Nobody in the future of the entirety of forming the one who was alive while the infinity J30 was in production will ever win championship ever again. Mark my words. It'll never occur. Pull up a J30 if you want. No, nobody in the history. I think we probably have. We have, we have often at least one. Let's see. Have we? Oh, wow. Yeah, you go. If you were alive at the time of this car, you will not ever win a Formula One championship. Sorry. Sorry, everybody born in 1995 or three. That's when we agree with that. I will say that 50 production here. Kenan, do you think that if he wins next year and he's so with Ferrari, they will build a F44? I think if he's able to win a championship absolutely, but that said also Michael Schumacher won a lot of championships with Ferrari. It's no Michael Schumacher. Well, anything. Meanwhile, Fernando Alonso got the BS 599. What do you mean? The whole company was a Schumacher edition for like 15 years. Well, that's, I know what you're saying. Wait, you know what he won't win though? He was born. He was alive during the J30. Right, right. Give us our next news story. That's what it's literally called. Really? That's what it means. It is coming to the US. So a couple of weeks ago Donald Trump, the president went to Japan or somewhere, was talking about K-Cars. It was a weird phrase. Right. Thank you for clarifying. I thought I should. President what? He said that basically that the JDM K-Cars were cute and smart. And so Fiat and you know, FCA generally wanting to be on the president's good side is bringing the topolino to the US. So the topolino is theoretically coming to US. Is it going to be coming with a rope of the station? We don't people on a club. We don't know. We really don't know. The one that sold in the EU is an eight horsepower 5.5 kilowatt hour battery has zero range. It's 44 inches shorter, 43 inches shorter, excuse me, than a 500E. You know, I was looking at pictures. It's one of the press photos shows a plug. And you know what the plug is? It's a household. Yeah. It's a lot of battery. It's like your piano. It's European household. Yeah. It's a house dead serious. If you look at press photos of the plug, it comes out of like their ish and it's just a household plug. I mean, think about it. It's a really small battery. Truly. What is the high-need for a range? 47 miles. Oh my God. Which far, which means 30 in the US? Yeah, because European miles are different than US miles. The WLTP cycle that they use is much more generous than they get. Yeah, there's more compact. So they decided the miles are 4100 feet. They're like, you know, we don't need a American. They're so big over there. They would probably be sold onto the same low-speed neighborhood electric vehicle. Regulations. Not as a car. It doesn't have to be less license plated in most days. Everyone is excited about Trump saying that he's into. Yes, we are. Everybody. The truth is though, Trump can't just say things. The evening he can and does often. That doesn't mean that. But it doesn't necessarily happen. In fact, often the stuff that he says does not happen. And in this case, there's 10 zillion regulations that prohibit cake cars. Which by the way, are annoying. Let's remove all the regulations. No, regulations. Let's do a free market, dude. No more chicken techs. Let's get those pickup trucks in. I do like some of the safety regulations. I'm supportive. The safety regulations would happen anyway. New Zealand. Okay. Has zero regulations because the market's not large enough to regulate. Right. And guess what? All the cars in New Zealand still have airbags and bags. There's not enough. They're not going to make a separate car. Although, the next two are also as well. There are vehicles sold there where they remove the airbags for sale. They do not remove every car in Mexico's got airbags. Look at that. You'll be surprised. There are some massively decontented cars because they can't. No, everybody in Mexico is driving around with airbags except for the ones that they've, that they've. Yeah. Okay. Next one, please. Oh, sorry. And this button, button. This is the Inos Grenadier Game Viewer. Okay. Inos announced this week that they're building the Game Viewer. Yeah. It's being built in Botswana. So they're taking like a stretched Grenadier, sending it to Botswana, where they will build custom Safari Ready Grenadier. I mean, that is, yeah, that's kind of where you want to build them. Yep. So they're so desperate to sell cars that they've decided, okay. Also, they are longers, they're some Botswana. That's their target audience. Yes. They are longer than the normal one. Have you seen a pickup truck on the road? Yes. One. It was right next to the dealer without a pass drive. I've seen one. There's a guy on the Antica de Gauna. That's it. I haven't seen one in California. Very expensive. Have you seen a pickup? Do you know that there is a pickup? No, I haven't seen one. The quarter math swatter master's, right? I reviewed one. It was fun. Yeah. It was great. I mean, I think it's a good thing to see you on Safari. I have like a really big place. You will not. There is no place to go. There's no way of being W turbocharged and they are sticking to the 76. No, there must be a way. As they have for about three years. The guys that run in here presumably have investments that might have their own games. They will sell them to get themselves. I'm telling you. Appeal to a very certain clientele, but even then they'll have a fleet of Toyota's for the background for when these things cause problems. Let me tell you, as someone who has done this and has been on Safari for several weeks in Botswana, I suspect that the 70 series will always be. You want an MDX. You want to open differential. You want an MDX. Open MDX. Here's what you do. You take an MDX. An accurate MDX. Just to clarify. Yeah, you pull the roof off. Which gen? The 071 that was really ugly when it debuted, but has. I love it. It was like an I sense sort of morphed into also still ugly, but in a different way. Do you know what I'm saying? Yeah, 270 horsepower 315. That was a 375. Oh, it was 375 by that. You're right. I'm so sorry. 270 horsepower 3.7. Ken, would you be proud to ride around looking at zebras in this? Would you think the zebras would be fine? I mean, I preferred my own truck. That's all we did. And that's what I prefer to do. And I would always pick a land. Shift your own five there and grab it. I mean, you're a truck. I said my own truck. Yeah, I'll rent it. Did I start it? I guess that's not 65. He dropped his rentek tune on the hippos. Well, I know what's coming. Hell yeah, I mean, we just B-50 in on that hood. Someone's going to tune the truck. I should note, by the way, that any of the people in Botswana that are doing this, that they're called the Spongebob. The Spongebob. The Spongebob. The Spongebob. The British have already got a history. Don't go and watch your language here. I think my language is probably a perfect for the reality on the ground. There's a company that has a factory that makes vehicles. The Spongebob. Engineering apparel. I used to convert land cruisers and land over to fenders. And any of the bot that company has been making these. Can I tell you something? If you go on street view in Africa. Sure. You know what cars you see? Large continent. You know what cars you see? Right. Yeah, don't you get not in popular Africa, but like West Africa and like all the, you know what cars you see 100% of the time? American cars that are no longer used in America that are not used for it. No, no, no, it's always true. Siena's and Corolas and Matrix's and cars that were sold new here in Nebraska and driven by some old lady and she has no idea that her old car is now in Ghana, you know, driving 14 people around. Do you think the Pontiac vibes are cheaper than two automations? Do there are a ton of vibe? Do you think the price of the British will exist? No. It's all in Africa. It's all about utility and everybody in Africa knows the one to five. If you go on Africa street view, Ghana street view is wild. It's you like, wait a minute, that's my mom's old Siena. Yeah. Yep, that's true. Okay. That's good. What else we got? Any more news? All right. What is this? This is a Lotus Leetcher. Oh, yeah. It's a famously an electric SUV that somehow costs $250,000 in the US. They are for sale in the US. Let's go ahead and finish the story. It's been an EV only that has like 900 something horsepower. Doug maybe has a review with one. He has to be the only person that's ever seen one. A beautiful electric. Right. That's all that there has been up till today. When now, apparently they're going to start building a plug in hybrid one that has a two liter force cylinder and apparently 940-ish. Great. That would be more powerful. Lovely. Yep. Can you type in Lotus Electra for sale? That looks crazy. All right. Just for sale. It's TRE. Yeah. You would have seen the four sale. Yeah, that's all. And then hit images. Okay. This car is local. Oh, it's the last. Let's click on it. It's huge. Big shout out. Tap on that. This car is local. Here at Aston Martin of San Diego. You can buy it today. It's an Electra for $243,000. Let me ask you this. Is this the least desirable $243,000 car? Now, can you think of any, probably some 356? Yeah, well always. There are 356's that inexplicably are worth 250 because they have one more horsepower than you know. That only to Jerry Seinfeld. From a performance perspective, I can think of a worse ratio like the multi-window, like Volkswagen buses. Though it is a desirable car because they're cool. I don't think those are 250 grand though. I think they are. I mean, this is the worst. Certainly the worst trim 50's has on a new car. So Lotus. Is it the worst new car overall? It's up there. Lotus had a tough situation where they were going to sell these for 100 something, 120, 130,000. Where it was already going to be an appreciation, does that? Massively. They were early to the fully V luxury SUV game. It's a somehow 6,000 pound Lotus. It doesn't make sense. Simple fun. And lightness. So, Colin said a little bit too much. But Colin Chevin envisioned this vehicle. Yeah. He was creating the original law. But then it was built in China and therefore there's a 100% terraform. Yeah. That made pricing a little tough. Yeah. Well, that won't change with the gas one. I'm not sure the gas one's coming to the US because why don't they bother? Yeah. It is based on a different Zikr Chinese EV or plug-in hybrid using the same power. Tough situation here. Yep. But you know what? Lotus took a risk. Lotus took a risk. And it really failed. I really failed. Yep. Yes. Sometimes your numbers come up and sometimes they don't. I will say, producing in China was a risk from the beginning. There were tariffs were always a threat against China. Even Biden had them. The US markets never going to like these things. Have a look. The Lotus brand presumably is not very strong in China. So it's not like they're even recording a lot of sales there. By. Yeah, I know. But it's not like the Chinese are like, oh, Lotus. They don't know. They don't have any history of this brand. And even if they did, the history would be the same as everybody else's history, which is that the brand has largely been a failure for our entire life. But don't you want them here? No. I want that MR2. I'd like to drive on. I would like to drive on. I want that MR2. If they do a stick of that MR2 and it feels fast, for a hundred or so, I should. I want to review it well, but not buy it. Yep. Yep. That sounds right. We got any more news? Yeah, we'll go up one more news right. Oh, wow. So it's all designed. This is my whole time favorite car. I'm sad that the picture for this wasn't the guy in the bicycle looking at my face. Who's like looking at it like what? It's all designed famous for designing the Columbus, of course. And also the first generation golf, the BMW and one, a bunch of other cars that we know and love and other cars that are hideous. They've done both. That was founded by Drew Getso, Drew Jarrow. Audi and Lamborghini have owned them for a while. Audi or Lamborghini, all owned by Audi, have sold the majority's stake of it to a company called USD. And on their website, USD is like the subline is, we don't just use AI. We reimagine industries with it. And they're located in San Ana. They're located in Orange County. So it's held design is owned by a company that's headquarters off the set off. Jamboree Road off the 73. That's what we're at now. It's held design. This is a company that gave us some of the all time most most famous car. Ju Jarrow was working for these guys. Well, it's good news about that. I mean, they're an AI based company. Luckily, most of it, tell designs look like AI errors. So that's not too bad. But the other thing I guess is maybe this is, maybe now's your chance. Maybe now they'll be willing to sell the Columbus. Oh, that's such a good idea. And they're just on the road. All I got to do is drive up to 73. That's right. And be like, yo, I know that you guys gave us some of the all time greatest cars in history. But can you sell me this? Yeah, I value your heritage and I would like to own a piece of it. We knew by the way, we talked a few months ago that Audi was looking to sell at least a portion of the tall design. They're not using it. I would offer them what this is worth to, honestly. Yeah, like 50, 18,000 dollars. I wouldn't give them every penny of 18,000 dollars. I will say there's one of my, so traditionally PR announcements have like where each company's from, like the location of the PR announcement. And the PR announcement for this has English that Germany, Monte Calieri, Italy and a Lisa Viejo Cal. Lisa Viejo, which is just, wow. Dude, I'm telling you something, the Lotus Esprit was an Italian design. All of the original holidays, the Delorean, the Subaru SVX, one of your all time favorites. Yes, the original golf. Ju Jaro was there, the 159, every alpha, the Braira. Oh, the Braira. And now, yeah, and now here they are, the M1, like you said, and now here they are, off Jamboree Road. They're actually on at five Polaris way. I don't know, no one knows who anything is. They're right off the 73 off of a Lama. I'm going to have you a hope, I'm going to tell you this and I'm not trying to be a jerk to Orange County. But once, once you're in Lennon's County, there's no way to know where anything is. You have to have a GPS, even if you live there and have lived there your whole life. So true. So true. That's very true. Okay, that's our last news story. What a shame. Cal designed the history, the grand history. Yep. Now, they're now an AI company in Aliso, VA, how the mighty have fallen. Then again, don't forget the courage you team was designed in a, in a strip mall in Huntington Beach. The greatest car ever with a Formula One engine. Never used. I like the additional qualification. Not the greatest car ever, just the greatest car ever that has a Foyle, aren't you? Oh, it was, I was trying to say the greatest car ever and it has a Formula One engine. Okay, I got it. Calma. By the way, you know what we're not talking about today and we should be on the news is that Haggerty released that list where they always say what cars are going to go up and value. The list is a little scary. It's like that Grammy for Best New Artist because usually the cars they pick go down in value. Yeah. Like the top 900. Like the top 900. A big pick of the air. Oh, which I'm a fan. To be clear. That would have had like a 50% decline after they picked it. Any who the courage you tease in the list, what are your thoughts on that list there? Is it everything else good? Maybe we can pull it off. We can, we can, do we, do we go pull it up? Bull market list, Haggerty. What's on there? I seem to recall us a bunch of other good stuff. The Alpha GTV is on there. Producer will be thrilled. The C606 is on there. R33 Skyline GTR. You know what truck that 454 SS pick up. Those are cool. That is real. Mark 3. That is golf. E6MGTIV. And the car that is absolutely going up and down. And Bmiata, which I can't imagine. Does anything in value? You know, I will say I think that compared relative to the other cars in this list, the Courage GT will go up on a percentage basis the most. These two will not at all. Actually, I think the Courage GT will go up in the value that it will cover the rest of this group. I have to lie back. We get it. I agree with it. They all will win up. The Ram Chariser ain't going up. You got to wonder though, you know, are they running out of cars to put on the list? No, I mean, the GTV value plummeted in the last year. So maybe they'll just kind of take back up to where we're. Is that a stutterbaker hawk? What is that? I don't know. We don't get into the old stuff. I was like, Haggerty, it's a continental marked two. Haggerty to their credit has an incredible amount of data and incredibly talented data people. So imagine there's a reason behind these choices. There were many years where their list has been actually pretty successful. Cars have gone up, but there are some years where it has in 2021, what car wasn't? Right. Some of their picks actually. No, we love the people. Anyway, Courage GT is on there. The greatest government, one of the things they wrote in the article was that it's the formula one engine is probably a big reason why it's going to continue to rise. Did they really? No. You want to know why? Because they're not idiots. That's why. You want to know why they didn't write that because it told it doesn't have a formula one engine. Wow. All right, we got to get into the talk cars, which of course is sponsored by Kenan's Rentech Tune. Oh, yes. Kenan's Rentech Tune. That's right. That's a great talk car. That's a great talk car. Many badges are on this car to signify it. Yeah, three. Two of them are off the way. I'm going to take off all three. The first big talk cars that I think we should talk about is the Doug Sember arrival. We should. Oh, yes. Doug Sember is back. We're hitting it hard this year. We got the Rivian, New Rivian thing, the New Rivian Quad Motor, which was cool. The 9-Mentory Turbo Nouncement, the Citroen DS, the Hyundai Crater, and then this week, the Cadillac Slystic. Did you watch my Slystic video? I have yet to watch the video. What? Philippa, this is the only, if you're going to, I will watch it. No, no, I will certainly watch it. This is some good stuff. Show us the Slystic thing. You don't have to click on it. Look at that. This is good stuff. This is an American Rolls Royce, Philippa. I'm excited to watch the standard of the world has returned. How will it sell? Poorly. And it's going to be a depreciation disaster. Much like the Lotus E. Leetree. How much is it? Okay, so this feels Lincoln Continental Coach Door S to me. Where they did something different. Luxurious. Door open backwards. It's 400, though. Right, but how much is, like, how much did a Continental Coach Door drop? How much is it? Has it maintained value? No. Oh, there's one either. No, this is going to be a tough resell. It's going to be a tough resell. I want to share some of the other things you have coming up in Doug Sember for the people to look forward to. Yeah. What are they? You've got a singer review coming up. Zinger. Not singer. It's not. You thought of the singers. Be thrilled. It ain't. You don't have to sit through one of those. It's the singer, which we in the office call Sizinger because that's what it looks like, but it's Zinger, simply what it's actually called. The Cadillac voyage. The Cadillac voyage. And the new RAV4 GR Sport. Well, I'm also. I'm also. You know what? You know what I also am realizing? I totaled up. I did how much I spent on car repairs in 25. It didn't include the Kuntosh broke down after I made that video. I made that video December 1 and then the Kuntosh brothers couldn't make it through the month. Let's talk about that. That's the next talk cars. The Kuntosh is back. Kuntosh broke down last week and it's back. It broke down I think on the way to the pod last week and now it's back. It was Tuesday last week. So it's back eight days later. All good. Drives pristinely. Perfect. Perfect from the shop to here. The clutch master cylinder failed and you know it's interesting because I went back and looked. This car had a service in 2005 that was more than the value of the car. Wow. In 2005, it had a $75,000 service which in today's money has got to be $150,000 and the car at that time was worth maybe 75. That's how cheap they were. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. They'll let maybe last. I went back and looked and you know what part was not replaced during that service? The master cylinder. The slave was and the slave hadn't failed, but I told them to just replace the slave anyway. You should replace them in tandem. I replaced. We replaced them together. But last, it was original. It didn't. Yeah. Either original or even older than that. I don't have any records before that service was 25 years ago. Sure. That they're original or older. That's right. I came up with a 350G. It was original or older than that being older than that service that I'm referencing. Yes. No, it may be newer than original. But if they did that much work in different places, I'd put money on it being original. Probably. In which case, it would just didn't know you anything. It's just an old component that's pressed for a year. Yeah. Couldn't have still gone. How did it feel with the new? Did it feel any different? Oh, it did drive so well. It's just the greatest. Now, I will say on the way back here, I hit 64,000 kilometers, which is 39,800 miles. What a mile. So I'm this close to 40,000 miles in that car. Big for a 40,000 miles. I bought the car for those of you keeping track at home with 37,000 almost exactly. So 3,000 miles in the Q&A. Not bad in a Q&A. How many miles have you put on it? On that Q&A? Yeah. 12. Have you driven it? No. Damn. Why not? If I have an opportunity to drive that car, I regret it every day. Oh, I don't think about it. I was sick for one and then it was out of time for it. I know I learned to clear. We know. We understand it's not for you. The 993 has problems too. What? Yeah, nothing major. It's still driving it every day. It's with one of the four power seat controls. We put, we got all four, we got two kids and two adults in the car. Everybody's driving around on it. It's great. But, you know, the car hasn't been used like I'm using it in a long time. I've driven it 3,000 miles in 60 days. That's crazy. And 3,000 miles before that had been many years. And so it's had some issues. It hasn't broken down or anything, but there's a warning light on that the fan belt has failed. Fan belt's a big deal in that car because it's air-cooled. It has not failed. I checked that the sensor has failed. Yeah. The glove box broke. There's like little things. So it's going in as well for service. I mean, 26. 26. Pretty normal. Like you said, you just got this car. There will be things that you have to shake down and discover some things. Also, I was planning that to do an oil change until the spring, but I've driven it so much that now I kind of have to do it right away. But the reason I brought these things up is because this is car, this is owning cool fun cars. I agree. Sometimes they break and you're on a rollback and the car goes in and you got to do a master and slave cylinder. Sometimes it's the glove box breaks. This is, if you want to have fun cars, cool cars, this is the kind of thing that happens. Yes. I know. I've been doing this for a decade. Flippo on the other hand. My car's don't break down. Are you going to tell? Yeah. Well, there's, yeah. Because, take a guess what? Boring stuff. Can you tell us about the situation? I'm inactive negotiations on a car. We're not going to say we're not going to talk about it, folks. I know Ken and knows people off camera now, the fellow not negotiating with whose name is Luke. He knows. But we're not going to share it with you until next week when Flippo drives the car to our podcast. That would be incredible. Slowly. I don't want damage. You're feeling good that this is going to happen. Yeah. It's going to be like a very high likelihood, too. Yeah, seems like a very high likelihood. I just don't want to be like scooped, you know? I'm a little bit anxious. No, by Friday, when this comes out, I better own the car, but we'll see. I'm a little bit anxious about you driving an expensive car. As I like. I so. You have not treated your other car as well. I would have to treat this marginally nicer and a little more nice. No, no, no, not marginally. I think you got, I mean, like, I am also worse. You won't be able to devote your garage to woodworking projects anymore. I know. That is going to be a real issue. I don't know. You're not going to be able to run the front plate to the GTI and didn't clean the bugs off the bumper. Yeah, I remember that. You can't. You can't. They washed it after. No, I washed it after. When the problem was already on. When the problem was already on. I, we, you and I did a video a while ago about how to wash a car. Yeah, I think that will come in. Yeah, we'll come in handy. Do you know that when we went, we did this. We did some desert thing. You'll see it in a couple of weeks. And when we went out there, his battery has failed in the 500-bar. And he just starts it with a jump box every single time. I want to be clear. We filmed other sites. It was like on brand. But like, we filmed the little series last week, which was very fun. I hadn't driven that fiat in three weeks. I wasn't aware of the battery failed because it had sat in my driveway under it. See, but now I will get a new battery. You will need to have this car on like a battery tender if it's going to sit by. I plan on driving it quite regularly. We're going down to, so we, right now we own three cars. Three and a half cars. The 500-bar, the Cabriolay, the Volkswagen GTI and our Mercedes station wagon. Yeah. We're going to get rid of two of those. Yeah. And replace them with the car that I'm buying. So the GTI and the Barthard leaving, and this car that I'm buying will be the car that I drive around. You know, he's also getting a carbureted pickup truck. Yeah, right. I forgot about the car trip. And the car trip. And the car trip. And the car trip. And the car trip. And the car trip. And the car trip. And the car trip. And the car trip. And the car trip. And the car trip. And the car trip. No, but not go ahead. It'll be great, but my wife will love it. No, she won't. She will really hate it when it fowls up in the, like, she can't point at you guys at the second day. Is it? We don't know. So that you should even stop it. Here's an issue. My late father not with the mechanic, my brother-in-law helped him with some projects. I'm told that they had it running, like six months ago, it has since sat outside. What? What a motor, isn't it? 351 Cleveland? How is it? How is it running? It ran recently enough. It should be easy enough to get running. I suspect it'll need brakes tires, some of the consumers, but that's easy. Who's easy enough to get running? You're not gonna get this thing running. I don't know, I'll figure it out. I gotta get it here for it. You're not ready for carbon. How are you gonna get it here? I will have to figure that out. It's currently in Arizona. May I suggest you? I will rent a U-Hull trailer. May I suggest using a Dodge Power Wagon? I would love that. They seem pretty hefty. Yeah, yeah. I suspect that I will probably have to rent a car that has a tow and capacity and a hit. You're gonna tow this thing 12 hours? It's six hours. Not with towing. Seven. No. It's like nine. It's gonna be nice. Especially you tow. I've heard of towing's feelings 55. Especially you towing. Like you're gonna, oh, him and a gas station with a trailer backing up. Oh my god. You think, why is it going left if I'm turning right? I don't understand. I have. I don't understand. I have towed regularly before. What? As you have not. Regularly. What if you towed boats? Last time we were on the water. A month ago. Six months ago. I tried to actually once. No, I have. Whatever. Whatever. Water, I tow boats. Quick, I'm full tow. Flippery. Fast, regular. I do lead a fast trip. I thank you. I'm quick, I'm full tow. I just got to get at home. That's the hard part. What are you going to do at one time? You're not going to leave. It doesn't have. Of course, you can't put that at your house. Oh, there are less cars on my street. Oh, only some time. Thanks, boy. Only some time. It's going to come over the case. Hey, buddy. Well, that's the worst part. He'll want to talk about it. Yeah. All right. This is an F-50? Yeah. Ranger. Yeah. Nice ulti. It's a serious truck, but like I'm... It's a great truck. I think we will legitimately... Pull up, pull up, put this in. Like it's like a 77, someone. 77 F-250 Ranger. Take that in. See, well, for your polypropathy, it's got some good patina. Is it a beacolore? It is actually a beacolore, but it's primarily just patina and blue. Are you gonna get it, like, if you got blue, you're gonna get this. Staying like that. Look at those mirrors. I like that Carlisle auction, I don't know. It's gonna stay like that, obviously. But it's horizontal. That'll be an ice cream. It's a bit like an Arizona store. Wait, what, you're a 77? 77, 70, I don't remember. You realize that's small. Yeah, you have to pass. Yeah, 75. You get up there for a year. Interesting. But it's basically... It's basically the conditions requirement of the time, right? You will not pass. You will not pass. There is not... I mean, I'm gonna tell you. If you ask the state legislatures and the state legislators is a CHP, there is not a single car in California registered from 1976 to about 1988. They don't exist. They don't exist. They're not here. Remain title, then... We'll see. We'll find out. It's a good, the denstrashing point. Had a thought about Smog. But I'm excited to have it in my life. But you should have my had a thought about Smog. Well, of course not. This isn't a car I've purchased. It's not a car that has been voice-handedly given to me. Well, the state of California doesn't want this car, okay? However, if you get those wheels on it, my wife is very excited, though. It will be like a cool... Look at that. You'll in a way that one, I'm gonna tell you that. Yeah, buddy. Yeah. It'll be a cool... This truck's too nice, though. This guy doesn't take this into this mud. He backed it off a trailer, took the picture, and now he's back. Which is exactly how Filippo will use it. I'm excited, but he's not even gonna... He's still on the trailer. I'm excited. It does look good, I'll give you that. When we started selling our merch, I had no idea how much there was to figure out. Product photos, inventory, shipping, even designing the store itself. That's Shopify.com slash cars. All right, truck. What other... What other car stories? Kenan, you went to the southeast. I did, yeah, I went to New Orleans to film with a Jaguar XK140. They'll be coming up on the site very soon. That's just car in the world, just like my kooosh was. It was, 120. I just, I'm stunned as I did research on this car, like the records that it held. From 1949 to 1953, it set our speed record every single year. Really? Like the car just kept... And the craze broke in, went faster. Kind of. But the thing, the one that blew my mind was, it was in 1953, they did... They, in 1952, they set a record, it was like over... It was like 130 miles an hour sustained for an hour. And the driver got out and said, wow, this car feels so good, it could do it for a week. And the next year they were like, you know, let's do that. And so they did. For a week, they averaged over 100 miles an hour for seven days and seven nights. You're kidding. Stopping to change the... I think they changed the wheels and the tires and they changed the drivers, obviously. And they were nursing a suspension problem, but they still did it. They're kidding. No, it's 17,000 miles in a week. You couldn't do it in the 1950s. I mean, that's pretty amazing. You couldn't do that in a Jag today. No, mostly because they don't build cars. But it just, like, it was very cool to drive in it. And we were talking about how it's hard. Like, sometimes the challenge of using a car, living with a car, kind of, is the appeal. And the cars from the 50s have never really been attracted to, but having driven it now, I get it. Like, I understand. It's funny. Like, you go around the corner, there's no bolsters on the seats. You got to hold yourself, like, with your elbow and the outside of the car. It looks so cool and it sounds awesome. Big steering wheel. Huge steering wheel. And they give you a ramp. They love ramps. Yeah, thin rim, but it's got cutouts for your fingers. And, like, you got a car trimming. You got a car trimming, no? Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You were just... Just a little bit more trimming. I want to ask you a question about this. Because you've used it a lot in the last week, but never before, like, last Thursday. I like a good trim, dude. Interesting. All right, sorry. I'm going to take the cash. Anyway, so yeah, so that was fantastic. It was nice to be back in New Orleans, too. I love New Orleans. And then I went to St. Pete Florida driving it, McLaren MP4 12C Spider. Wow. I'm going to be going to the scene in sight, too. I've been very interested in those cars. I've only driven a 720S. I've never driven like that. What are those softwares? Pull up, pull up, and then pick one. Have we sold? We've sold. Yeah, we've sold. We've sold. You could just type in MP4. There's not a lot of different models of MP4. That's true. Wow. 7800. 80 to 110. Yeah. And this one, it's a one owner roadster. It's in this 13,000 miles on it. Wow. I mean, it's a 900-thousand car. Oh, and by a fascinating guy, too, he's the Chief Stragis for Turner Motorsport. And he has, he's won two drivers' championships and 12 constructor's championships with, with championships with Turner. What did you think of the car? Loved it. It feels way more exotic than I was expecting, especially given its price point. I mean, it feels more like a $300,000 car. Better than Ferrari. It was definitely faster. That's for sure. But it's a more torque. And I have to say the spider, you're much closer to the engine, so you get the sounds. You get the turbo sound, you get the great sound of the V8. I think that makes it feel more exotic, which was a criticism level at the car at the time. Yep. But I think they are tremendous value. And it's a lot more reliable. The thing, well, the thing is, like, there's a lot, the later ones did get more reliable. The really, really ones, we had a slide to open the door, which is what Felipe would buy. Those ones are inexpensive for a reason, because they are. Wait, the later ones, they switched that to a real door handle? Yeah, there's a button. And they actually, yeah. So you just pressed the button. In the early, mid-year is early and late. 12, right? Did it come off? Yeah, 12, I think. In the early mid-clearance, you literally, you know, you think I'm half an hour? They did it away with that immediately. You know, my parents, when I was a kid, had an MP412C, who was a VCR. Nice. Yes, the name is a bit tough, right? Thank you. Thank you. It was later called the 12C for a good reason, because the name is terrible. But the car... 12C is pretty stupid also, especially since it doesn't have 12 cylinders. Right, now, yes. Well, yeah. But then, Dodicicill injuries, not exactly great. There's no happy 12-selder. Anything around 12C, it doesn't really work. 4C kind of work, and 8C. I agree. These are cool cars. I agree they are values in today's market. I think they look really cool. Well, the last point I want to make, they are also well-supported now by third party places that service it. When the car came out, yes, make medics like there's a company that goes around and like... It's like a guy. ...will come to you and service your car. It works specialized in MP412C and like the early cars, which I think is cool. There's a lot more support for this car now than there was when it came out, so you don't have to take it to a dealer. And I think that actually makes it substantially more compelling to own as enthusiasts have gotten into it. Are you compel... No, I don't buy automatic cars. This is not for... Don't buy automatic cars, yeah. I own one, I'm Italy, but it's a Mercedes-Benz. Me too. I got one with my name. I own more vanules. I have more power. We only buy autos for daily drive. Yeah, it's a... And one of them gets to an F250, that one's a problem. That's an auto. Two on the tree? I think it's a three-speed, maybe two. It is, man. You are not ready for this. I can't believe you didn't think about this. I'm going to Arizona tomorrow, or I'll listen to this, and I will go figure out first of all, is there a key? Because I'm not 100% a key. Does it... Is this a turning-on? Is there a battery? I don't know anything about this truck. I will find out. What do you think it's worth? It's worth a lot of sentimentality to my very sentimentality. I'll tell you what, it will be when it... You know I didn't think about registration, because you're never going to drive it. It's going to be a problem. No, it's going to be a problem. It's going to be a problem. Don't you think a nice way to let the memory live on is we destroyed... Sean, I thought you were going to say Barry, like who we would. No, it's too big. If given the opportunity, Sean would love to do something where we just go this car. Absolutely. I will guide you as a junkyard down in South. Absolutely not. Okay, but the memory... The memory is created in that moment, right? Right? I mean, yeah. If I get to shoot that thing with a 50-tonle of battery... No, right, run over it. We'd run over it. You know what we do? It would be hard. We don't we do. We get one of those 07 MDXs, but we get six of them. And we just keep trying to run over the F250 until we're good. We borrow the old picture and run it. This is like a $10,000 video. Nothing is expensive. My late father-in-law Craig had a huge lift at 05 F350. Could drive over this other one. You didn't get that car, though. It would have been pretty into shooting it. Who ended up getting the 05? His son. You got screwed. Not want a 800 horsepower turbodies. You didn't want this either. I did. I'm excited about this. We got to move on to our market report, which is sponsored, of course, by Kenan's Redntech. Two sponsored brake cars and bits of it. Oh, yeah. The market report is sponsored by cars and bids. Folks, if you want to buy a car, if you want to sell a car, if you want to think about a car, go to cars and bids. That's where your greatest cars are. Can you pull up that Super-O? We got it. We have it. Yeah, nice. Look at it. This is a one-owner. Did you know that? Yes. This is a one. It's in the subtitle. Ignore the fact that it has a temporary license plate on it for it should last week. This is a one-owner car. No, seriously, this is incredibly cool. 60,000 miles, this is a fixed roof coup. Philippe knows what I'm talking about because he's in the Corvette Community. That's right. C5. This is a fixed roof coup. This is the real deal. Kenan, are you interested? It is cool. It's nice to see one so stocked. So we get the ones we get some very heavily modified ones minute to us We get a lot of very stock stock cared for ones as well. There are still them out there They are still around. I mean this one lives in an neighborhood that looks like this Which I think is great. Let me ask you a question. Well, it's one art dude body Yeah, let me see expensive car in 1996. Oh, yeah, let me ask you a question Kennan if you could have this or an NSX What would you have NSX? What about this or any of the other Japanese sports cars would you rather have an FD? What do you I'd rather have this than a 3000 GT will talk to 300 ZX I will say it was a little Texas and that was oh my Thinking yeah, I'd rather I would rather have this than an NSX would you rather have this than a I guess I Which GT are any GT are I'd rather have an R34 GT R That is true, but left hand drive converted the market would rather have a GT R or an NSX the market would not rather have an NSX Yeah, no, yeah, yeah, and I think he's right if you had a 96 NSX with 60,000 miles I think it sells from more than this car one owner 96 NSX with six sales miles It's in the same ballpark and but they are in the there in the ballpark and remember in this this car Paul Walker says Nice car. What is it cost or what I like? Yeah, what's the retail? What's the retail on one of those more than you can afford pal My how does that just two values the irony Philippo of that is that the Supra is now worth more I understand so the Supra even though he was told that it was more than you can afford Pal is actually the more expensive 25 years Was that 35 was it an F one I don't remember of course was an F one they were shooting a haul They would you think that guy could drive a stick Okay, I want to talk cyber truck first. Yeah, I want to talk cyber truck first. We've had a cyber truck sale or maybe it was a no sale I don't know for sixty one thousand dollars folks Cyber trucks are not not gonna knock it on the fifties. Wow I'm just trying to think there other senators have reached the fifties. I'm not saying it's a good deal I'm not saying you should do it. I'm just saying on this is a market report I am simply reporting the truth the cyber truck is knocking on the door of the fifties. How much is a cyber truck? This is a year old by the way Current cyber truck offers from Tesla knew yeah, yeah, what are they offer for a cyber truck 729 a month? That's way too much way too much fifties folks that's remarkable. They'll be there soon the beast are still more the beast are still like 80 They won't be for long this is gonna be a 35 car in 18 months. I'm not I'm not an incredibly capable 35,000 I'm I'm capable of what speed irritating speed and turning and tight radius of thin this is gonna be 35 in 18 months you mark my words call us up on the pod in December in in June or July of 27 Yep, let's see what cyber truck. Thank you. Imagine the the demographic that's gonna end up with these things is gonna be crazy Tomor H. Toots this is the homerage to yeah, that is such a great analogy. This is the image to it is it is very striking and Cells to a certain person and then it depreciates like crazy and it loses its strikingness and its lustre and its excitement I mean you see these now and you feel a little sorry for the people driving right I mean they were cool They were cool for a year that cool. They were cool. It was cool to see it initially after I didn't like it when they came out There wasn't a person in the world who didn't text me like I just saw some sort of angled truck I don't know what it was holy crap notable and cool different. Oh, they were God what a Contrary and refuses to admit what you agree I think that it was the first one I saw like I remember where I was the first time I saw it was like you really yeah Was that the balcony my apartment complex like I don't know their Kendi assassination 9-11 and the first That's right. I'm old enough to see Pull up the GTR place. Yeah, so GT that are 35 T folks spec for so much The cheap spec was a very special car at the very end But this sold for $163,000 and I just want to make a point here GTRs never got cheap They never went down in value. They are still incredibly desirable and there is still a huge community of people who absolutely love these cars and Really really really are are buying them and spending real money on MSRP was 140 140 and presumably you got this at or below MSRP Yeah, so GTRs and go back to go type in R35 GTR or just R35 You what we're gonna regular style and see cute dude. I mean these are still I don't mind for 80. What was the sticker on that 80? Yeah, I mean there's a relation but you get so cheap early to yeah That is amazing. Do you think it's because you know they all look almost exactly the same? No, no, no, it's because the performance is incredible. They are unbelievably tunable They have turned out to be pretty robust in terms of reliability the early cars were a little bit less so but but there's an enormous community around fixing any issues that come up and they just didn't make all that many Even though the car was in production for 16 years, they just didn't make all that many and it's funny because we all idolize The R34 but in the end this car will remain a tremendously desirable exciting car for years years years to come I'm gonna start with sub 80 sub 80 is 77 one. Yeah for that year it had gone up 7 grand from 08 to 09 Yeah, it was 70. It was a $70,000 car when I came out wow wow still a $70,000 car for pretty much all them These cars remain tremendously desirable tremendously popular well supported look at that black edition sells for 74 with 43,000 miles and for that person bought that car daily did right essentially And still got real money. It is interesting to see which special editions the market rewards that bait that skyline edition Which was just base had blue and nothing else market isn't gonna be good that much over sicker for that Yeah, the market didn't hate that though 143 is still a real number. Yeah, the tea spec though seems like it's the Might end up being one of the desirable specs. I still if very rare I see a GTR on the street which shocks me Yes, this is to me. This is still an exotic car I have a suspicion the market will treat these like super as an NSX is where we saw them a lot in the day in the period in 20 years We're gonna tell our kids we used to see those just driving around like you would think you'd see if you saw an NSX now You'd be like wow like someone's dry if you saw a mark for now You'd be like I can't believe someone's just cruising around in that in 20 years We're gonna say about these cars One is that I still even I still don't feel like I ever saw them regularly. I'd never saw them I mean you seem occasionally, but it's it's quite right Always noted it second thing is because of cars and coffee and where we live I think I see more our 34 GTR Yeah, I agree five switches these are gonna be in a way that the markets continues to view the not just the tea spec But the market will continue to view this car is special forever. It was just a lot of power reliable power tunable power Huge culture around it very special change the game for sure if faster the furious was made today Paul Walker Be drive one of these I think he isn't one of the later movies to an author five well brother maybe They made 48,000 over the lifetime globally globally well, that's low. I mean you slow given the periods I mean for like a Top of the lineup car halo car like that. They made 20,000 original NSXs Over a very similar like two and a half hours of money And they made 19,000 second gen NSX. I remember when in about 0809 I was in Madison, Wisconsin and I'm like a normal neighborhood. There was a GTR street part and like at the time it was a notable car, but it was also a $70,000 car Yeah, it wasn't that different from somebody buying a no total top of the line And I still think to this day it is sort of like that. It's it's notable But you don't like there's a GT are you're not taking a picture of it in 20 years? You'll be taking a truck I agree. It's gonna be special. It is special. Is anybody manual swap GTR? Nothing. I don't think people want to do that. It's a really stout dual clutch It is a really stout dual clutch. It handles a lot of power like a lot a lot of the early ones had some troubles But it is a lot So many of them are built for straight lines Well, they just are numbers they're number If you ever wondered how much of your personal info is just out there online Data brokers can legally collect and sell details like your name your address your phone number Even info about your relatives and some of the most concerning are people search sites Which compile this data and sell it to anyone with a credit card that exposure can leave the scams can leave the fishing harassment or even doxing That's why I trust the leapy It's a hands-free subscription service that removes your personal info from hundreds of data broker and people search sites Helping reduce the risk of your data ending up in the wrong hands I chose the leapy because they've been the leading experts in data removal for over 15 years They use their own tech without outsourcing and real privacy advisors are available if you need help For me personally as someone with a public presence online It was eye-opening to see exactly what data was out there And now the leapy is constantly cleaning it up for me You can get 20% off the leapy consumer plans when you go to join the leapy.com slash the mural And use promo code demuro at checkout that's join the leapy.com slash the mural code demuro dm You are oh two more things I want to discuss three more things maybe In terms of market portal hi, it's a longer market port today The mega cruiser keep up the mega cruiser. We sold them mega we love the mega remember the land cruiser cruiser Land the mega cruiser cruiser cruises mega mega we sold the mega cruiser for 115 Thousand United States it was a civilian car up in Oregon right hand drive Uh Not a lot of these come up and sell Bring the trailer which is a different auction platform. They had one they had a high roof I don't know if you saw this that high roof civilian car Really really fell short or reserve by his might guess it was somewhere in the 80s It was not as nice as this it was it was it was a more special one because it had like a higher roof like all this seating But the the market does not love these cars like it did when we had our first one that left hand drive car That sold for over 300,000 Obviously, this is not a left hand drive car. I think that would have helped the bill. Yeah, I think that's it has a major But still the mega cruiser type in mega cruiser just so we don't get the ram mega cabs The mega cruiser still does do pretty well the market is still especially the civilian cars 100 cat hard to start our car Our worth a ton more than the military cars so cool even with That level of rap. Why don't we own one as a group? You can't get tires. You know, let me tell you. Yeah, I'm interested I'm not interested if you find me a tire source The remember what the engine was used in the other Toyota. Yeah, both. Yeah You don't know the name of the bus the coaster. Oh, yeah, you're Toyota's that's your problem It's I promise one of my many pro you don't know your Toyota rental car shuttles at the Tokyo airport Which I was on one by the way Like a month ago driving around in a mega cruiser basically probably Anyway, the mega cruiser cruiser's mega I still think they're the coolest things in the world as soon as we're talking about bring the trailer Our mega cruiser results beat their day in there if you got to meet folks If you got a mega cruiser and you need to sell it you come to cars and bids We're your mega cruiser source. We have auction seven And I don't say we've sold seven because one of them was twice Well, and a couple of them didn't sell But if you want to sell your make a cruiser you will get more money on our side It's like you will for GTC for Lucifer. Let's pull up that GTC. Yeah, that was quite see you see that result Yes, I did we had it we've sold a lot of Ferrari's now. We're big Ferrari sellers We're basically as good as Ferrari of Hawaii It's not better And we have a GTC for Lucifer go back to the thing. What did it sell for? It's sold for 246,000 United States dollars This was a V12 Lucifer so this is like the dream you know V12 was a V8 T or is there a T? Yes, right. Is that what they were called? They were called T? Yeah, and the only way we we talked about this The only way to know that it was different is that on the passenger side on the on the glove box here What says GT4C? Luso it said GT4C was a T really only visual distinguishing thing between the two cars You can't tell let's see here. It's start. That's it. Really? Yep. They did I don't know why they did that I think the I guess Ferrari they far didn't want to keep in their models anyway 266,000 United States dollars big result by the way bring a trailer that the day after the trailer I don't know how to operate very the trailer fine the trailer Sold an 8000 mile 2018 GTC for Lucifer so one that should theoretically V12 Yeah, should there could be more desirable for 224 so notably lower than those results We get all the money if you're listen if you're selling your V12 GTC for Lucifer or your mega cruiser We're making a pitch to you or for those people out there or similar like hard luck Any car oh like an m3. Okay, so mega There's 12 to 15 in you in the country V12 GTC for Lucifer. There's a hundred of you or if you have any other car Yeah, there's millions of you Well gentlemen well sold no really, but if you got a mega And if you have a manual kind the last car I wanted to talk about yeah kind so a couple of months ago We had this green manual kyan selling the website for and it's sold for 125,000 United States dollars and people were like That's the fakes thing I ever saw it wasn't it was real it had real Proving that we sold one the other day for 70,000 dollars now a lot of people are gonna say wait a minute Doug If you sold one for 125,000 and then you sold one for 70,000 that seems like the 125 result is still inflated But you what you fail to understand is the 70 result is also still inflated In In either scenario this is a 25,000 dollar car, but Porsche people are Porsche people and they'll pay up and that was the point that I made when the first one sold and was like This is money laundering its fake Well, here's another massive result for one of these cars proving that if if there is a certain contingent of people after a certain contingent of car They will pay all the money for it right. Yep, and if you follow this contingent We know another jet green live right now. What's the mileage on this one? 88 to because if you have one of these and you're seeing they're selling for 125,000 or 70,000 You're like I think I want also because the the bring the place where you might have to bring the trailer Has not had the same level of results for these I'm not sure Really hitting bring the trailer here or the best place if you have a manual green cayenne a mega cruiser or a V12 GTC for Lucille there is no other place to sell it fact We specialize this is a pretty impressive car now. I'm thinking about getting into this one because I feel like this is gonna serve for a little left right 125 to 70 70 okay, you start thinking about it But this is probably gonna be one two data points big a trend you don't get fooled again. Yeah, I can't get fooled again Like in Tennessee saying in Tennessee. I think they have in Texas too The second sale the green one was pretty impressive 70,000 and I it does prove that there's a lot of Market for this I will say I was very charmed by the owner who posted only a couple of comments He didn't he let the car stand on its own just fine But he posted the very first comment on the auction was he went into the Porsche dealer in New York City or New York state in the Hamptons I think here. Yeah, I went in the New York in Southampton and I was sitting in the car realized it was a manual And I asked the salesman is this real and he said yes Didn't like that one he ordered one jet green with an umber and cream leather interior He ordered this car new from the factory and all these years later it paid off He said when I took ownership he told me it was the last manual off the wine light stick That wouldn't surprise me if it was true It's probably never going to be able to be proven but it is a 14 which was the final model year of this car Um pretty cool very cool. Yep. By the way the owner the the person that that bought the the first jet green one Commented on that auction really all you dorks thought I over I think he's happy with this purchase. He should be happy with this purchase He got a slightly better spec car. Yeah, this car is also very cool the one that's come up Actually each one has been a successively a little bit worse the first one was the best one This is the seller of the current one don't worry the third one The current one has the highest mileage and the lowest the lowest option content I still think it's super cool so cool and these are very special cars and I'm super new man I can't if you have a yellow one. Oh, yeah And if you don't sell it on cars and bids you are nothing You will lipo's Christmas sweater. I will say the one that's curling live has soft ruffled seat centers Go to see it. Let's see. I have loads of looking at the option. Oh wow What an option wow Kennan you ever ruffle your seat centers? Why is this you worth the portion you were responsible for this people did this stuff Dude, I don't know what yours it 14 I was not responsible for I left by then I had quit to go start a website called cars the bids Bids the cars Bring that okay, we got move on to really to show hate so I was like can't you just can't you just advertise for your own business Please I'm it benefits you why don't you just do it Thank you So everybody listening is thank you too Can you please just say what I wrote please All right, we get questions the questions today whoa this week are you'll see in a second whoa the questions this week are Perfect if you want to ask us a question you go to carsandbids.com you click on the community tab There'll be a post there that says ask us questions please ask us questions I am now scrolling through every single question trying to find the best ones I spent 45 minutes on this and found the best question some of them were deep dude deep and the first one is definitely the best one Go to the questions please first question comes from Faisal al-Umaid He says hello Doug Kennan in Filippo here. It is pull up the picture I hope you're doing well wanted to say hello and share some exciting news as a long time view of the channel I thought it was to let you know that I recently became the new owner of the run I don't know concept car which is sold this Sunday at the rental factory outside Paris and he says a little bit more He's gonna take it you do buy so he says now. I will say there's no proof. He bought it This is the this is the picture from the auction court like it that doesn't mean that he this dude actually bought He may have just posted that like anybody could have gone and taken this picture The did we talked about this the concept collection last week Renault sold a bunch of their concept cars none of which were attractive or desirable. I All of them respectively to agree This one's had a four to six thousand euro estimate and sold for 25,000 euro. Yep Well 21,000 euro 25th of the last I can't speak to the exact amount looking it up right now Radically higher than it should have been however I also would have paid that much Canon do you have any regrets that we didn't end up with this car tons loads can I it would be cool That's cool. It looks like a bison. It's just easy. It just is a bison. Can I share some other results? Yeah, I wish them the Cleo six-wheel pickup 19,000 euro way too much way too little What about the ones on the doors? I don't know that's nothing. Okay. Good. The the Kangu breakup concept 424 that was the other expense of what everything else kind of sold within the estimate Which was not basically nothing I got a five car was estimated at like the cars were like four to six thousand euro And the scale models were like one to two thousand the car the difference between a car and a scale model at this auction was pretty minimal The one with all the doors the Renault 21 that had all the doors and another car mounted on trunk So it's for 1445 years like I said What a value you get all those doors and an extra That is going to go into a junkyard in France for parts. I promise you that is not An enthusiast did not buy that car and would not buy that car These are why do we not live in France currently like actually live there just to buy these hundred reasons I could name you a hundred reasons the Renault sports the the spider prototype which is a sports spider prototype So for 23,000 euro a friend of a friend Purchase the Renault Alaska the pickup truck really going to try to import it to the US under show or display So you don't have to live in Paris in France to drive these cars you can have the best of all world you can drive the cars and Not live in France kind of the two no offense and no offense by the way no offense To our French viewers out there. No, we love you We love all seven of you in France and I'll tell you something if you live in France and if you have a mega cruiser Sell it on cars and bits you know some of these souls for real money see for play the f1 cars one of those for about a million dollars Well, dude, it's an f1 car. It took Rubens Beirichello across the finish line in the 96 Phoenix Grand Prix with a car GT Strap to the back right The most expensive was the 1997 Renault William FW19 Formula 1 car for 1.5 million. Yes, serious car So serious car 97 post-courage it here. I said who cares the most expensive like real car is a Renault Maxi 5 turbo prototype for 252,000 Next question from you know Sir Roadster hey dug in friends. I guess you guys are the friends Next on the pod it's just dug in the quaintances agreed The e60m5 is loud it lauded Appreciated for its v10 in its sedan. Why doesn't the c6 out e rs6 get as much attention as a more powerful v10 Moral ible same price totally great nobody ever talks about that BMW is like oh BMW put a v10 and m5. Yeah, how did it in like 10 cars? They took the Lamborghini engine which everybody's like it's not old, but it is They took the Lamborghini engine and they put it in an Audi s6 an s8 an rs6. You know why? What? He's 60 got it get it with the manual. Oh America. Yeah, but mostly you couldn't mostly you couldn't you would go mostly I hope the people wait wait wait we can't say that it's lauded. Okay, sure It's it's worth twice as much as a c5 r6 in that it's worth from It's not like it's like now. Yeah, no, but people talk about the m5 like oh my god They put a v10 the m5 but nobody ever talks about the fact that Audi did it in like a dozen cars And it was also in a Lamborghini. Yeah, I think that's No offense to the Audi. I think the m5 badge is a little bit more historically notable and that is why it's I also think the fact that the m5 Was kind of spicier to own to drive to experience help like the when I think of that rs6 I think of like an auto bon cruiser kind of the m5 was like a peaky Unreliable temperamental crazy thing. Yeah in a way the Audi just wasn't It just the head had more flair. Yeah, the Audi almost hurts itself because it was relatively subtle to me I would rather have owned the Audi But the Audi almost hurts itself because it was like better It's just kind of yeah, I just dynamically I think at the time also would just wasn't I also e60 chassis amazing That's true also that is certainly true also the e60 was dynamically a better car sequential manual and and manual Or better than any torque converter That's those are also can I ask you a real question also it was never sold in the US It's important to also keep in mind a lot of the enthusiasm for the e60 m5 comes out of the states Because there was a stick and because there's a lot of following for that car And we never did get that r6 in the states We did get v10 outies in the states, but they never had as much power as the m5 that's right Right Do you think that it also helped the mw that had a different gear slasper the automatic m5 did not have the traditional yeah Prendle gear slats the other e60s had yeah, it was it was the the the the the Are you banged at six had had a ton of power for the torque about the normal with the gear shifter No, I don't know the physical gear shift don't you say any difference at all? Don't you think kind of does I do not think that sportier it was like a sportier I like this is what flip us focused on is the gear shift now to be clear You could also get the standard e60 with smg. Oh you get the five third Five one of them. Yeah, did anybody? Yes, in the states I've driven it happened in the state it was terrible Yeah, I remember they offered the e46 with that but I didn't know they offered the six they off the six They have a tradition of doing weird transmissions like that normal cars because you get the dual clutch from the e90 m3 In the 335 is yes, yeah, no idea why you could but yes, but the e60 about that car the eat Yeah, even that it had 335 is badgers on the fender Yes, right and those unusual wheels, but like they but the yes, you could get smg Maybe there's even the 550 you could get smg but very uncommon for obvious reasons help But anyway, next question from stubbled CRT1 Hey, Doug you've stated before that you saved the really good videos for Doug Sember for higher ad revenue. That's now folks right now Watch the videos like watch them like in December, please. Yeah, watch them in December if you if you're watching in January I don't know if you made that We're joking uh, I just curious how long you have sat on a Doug Sember video Um, you're like I film them way before and then kind of try to build out a good month It's really mid mid november to the end of December because the ad rates start to get high late November black Friday Etc. Uh, when people are starting to spend money I've sat on them for a long time, but never insane. Usually the car owner is like yo man You post in this like what's going on here? And so I eventually kind of I'm like oh, sorry. I'll put it up and then I do Um, but I think probably I've sat on him for six months. I got no problem with that. Can we talk about two big errors Yeah, what you got all right look up Doug's Ford F650 video which went up January 3rd Years ago. Oh, yeah, went up to summer 26 did it? I thought that that was later in that no That video was the greatest is it. Oh Doug Sometimes it's hard to type what a good that video by the way still delivers 17 million. It's the second big mistake. I seem to recall years ago at this point you filmed a Saturn As series and and SL one you're bringing this up bringing it up if we need to talk about it finally Hey, I can't look where is it? Yeah, where is it? What we give it a second? I come out from behind it When the one video coming out Doug I filmed a set all right. Let me tell you what happened I'm an explainer. Everybody asked me out this. I'm just gonna explain there is no video. Oh, there's not much I'm explaining here's what happened all right I many years ago type in doggie Merle 430 Scooter Rio Many years ago. I filmed a video a fellow. I went up I think it was in Orange County of a 430 Scoot and it was this one And it was we sold it on the site and it was an awesome car and the dude was super nice And he said hey man by the way if you want to come up and film my 430 Scoot That's great, but I also have an original Saturn SL you can film and I was like Okay, so I filmed the 430 Scoot it went up a few weeks later sold it on the site like normal And I was also like why not film the Saturn SL too so I filmed the Saturn SL also There was that one I filmed the Saturn SL also and it's just never got up. What was this? This was end of 22 So I've been sitting on that video for three years Some of us love the Saturn SL. I'll tell you this You know when I go away for the summer I like put build up a lot of videos beforehand So I don't film over the summer at this end this summer that video made it on the schedule And I even recorded a voiceover for it for the end it made it on the schedule But then I got put love the first gen Saturn SL. Yeah, it's a good video. It's a good video It's a shame the video hasn't come out It's a good car The Saturn SL on a lot of it. Do you feel like because you haven't released it now you're just like obligated to hold on to it It's become kind of a mean. Yeah Like the F50s that that entire question was just for die hard dog fans Don't walk like that because I've teased it here and there. Yeah It's shown up in like teaser shop. There was an Instagram post in 2022 That's right. It's nothing about that post next question from ENJ Doug I watched the the Spoken tire pod you were on and I heard you and Matt mentioned forever cars or any of your super cars forever cars We'll replace those cars in the future or sell them that replace them I want to be really clear on this I answer this question every single time it comes up in the same way And I want to be really clear none of my cars are forever cars They will all someday be sold and I know that when when I sell the crew GT I know some day people are gonna be like you said you'd never sell it and I have never said that and I do not believe that I am not a collector. I do not want to kill anything since forever. They will all Someday be sold it may be a long time and maybe 10 years maybe 20 years There is no such thing in my life as a forever car at some point I will no longer get the pleasure out of driving it. I'll be old like Filippo is mentally And I will no longer want to use these cars. There is no forever car in my world. They will all Go eventually. Yes, even the career GT which I love so much time such a history someday it will sell So when I sell it and you see all the comments you're Shut your never sell Just remember I'm saying here that I will and I've always maintained this position have I ever said anything different Are you worried that like hoovy you'll remember the your tax bill? Like April 14th and then sell them in a hurry. No, I'm a W-2 if you're just as you are if you had to put money on which when you keep the longest Um, totality. I honestly don't know. I think it's the one that's behind. I vacillate You do yes you do the career GT I Really would like to own forever But I have a suspicion that one day will be simply too valuable for me to keep I will I am not as wealthy as a lot of my career GT compatriots and like a lot of McLaren F one owners are doing right now The car they bought for four million is suddenly worth 30 million their net worth is 50 million and they're sitting here thinking this car is Yeah, I get it like what this is insane like I need to unload this thing and I wouldn't be entirely surprised if that car That couragey t if that car because I don't think this is ever going to really appreciate crazily The couragey t ends up at three four five million like the f 50 etc At some point I will no longer enjoy using it and it will make I would just rather have the money I have a suspicion and I in the memories I've already put five thousand miles on the career GT I will probably put another ten thousand on I 15 I don't know and I will always be able to say hey, I had this car. It was really cool But at the at some dollar level, I just can no longer justify it It simply loses the main thing that attracted me to it Which is the the enjoyment factor yep I have a suspicion that one goes first you have had the four gt for seven years or the seven and a half years and the four gt got a early start too bad it's gonna be gone soon. You think it's going. No, I've seen you've talked about the nine and three I know I'm worried. Yeah, I haven't even considered selling the four gt though. It's not even like been thought of yet four gt is my cost basis is zero It's incredibly reliable and it's on an upswing like there's no reason to sell it It doesn't and we have endless space like that There's literally no reason to get rid of it and like you do talk about one of the big reasons you have the nine and three So your kids can write around it, but those rear seats are small and they will outgrow those seats And someday they'll be able to ride in the big car Yeah, and I think then Hold the four gt for a while no four gt definitely is is a is a hold I'm gonna take it to cars and coffee also to your most powerful car Yeah, it is it's definitely the scariest Next question from Nick underscore Nick not the regular Nick the underscore Nick Hello, Doug you've expressed interest in the new ju-agged cabriolay for some time now You also said on last week's pie you're seriously considering buying it My question is do you really want to drive across country in that thing? No, I've decided I'm not gonna do it It's just I just I've been thinking about who's gonna end up in that car and it's just not me It's just not me wow. I'm gonna keep the old one Hopefully people will see it as kind of cool and vintage I have a suspicion that when I'm driving around on the old one and the new one comes out people are gonna be like oh there's the g You know like like uh Yeah, but I just I you're right underscore Nick. I cannot it's just not me that car is not me. It just isn't I just know the level of real housewife that's gonna own the convertible G wagon and I just cannot participate. Yeah, I'm out I mean you heard it here first Next question from two shirts love you guys. Thank you. Can I thank you? Oh, how sweet I only have one shirt today Have you ever considered you only find cars so exhilarating because you aren't into motorcycles would you be oh willing Open to learn to ride no, I know how to ride you ride bikes By the way, you got a motorcycle I don't I don't have my total license that is not historically stopped me on private roads I I like bikes. I like I don't know much about them my grandfather has A 1931 Indian 101 B scout which is a great pre-war bike He's had it since he was like 16 these 96 still have the family my cousin finished a restoration on it I've hosted it down the driveway once. I've never ridden it. I would like to but You know, I like those kind of bikes, but in California I'm just too afraid to use a motorcycle. It's just too dangerous. Lane's putting is crazy in Nebraska I'm all over. I got wide open road. Oh, here. I don't know. I just motorcycle just aren't I understand the appeal of a motorcycle I'm too afraid to get involved with that also know that except for Ken says l 65 We're not like going after speed. That's not our like style of drive if we were we had all owned Huracan that are twin turbocharged or EV through right like that is not That's right. Yeah five years ago Huracans That that's what you though that it's still super fun. Yeah, it is super fun. It's being exposed to my my argument is a safety one Ever since I had kids I stopped doing a lot of stuff and I have zero interest in riding a motorcycle literally zero interest riding motorcycle for that reason alone Even if I thought it was really cool. What's the fee stop doing you're not doing not tight rope walking? I sold that yellow truck. I you should see the stuff. I like don't take any risks anymore I just I my children should should should have a father Motorcycles are scary. They're legitimately dangerous and all the motorcycle people in the world to be like they're not that dangerous And then some of them die. Yeah, well, yeah, exactly and all around argue anymore I just don't I just don't think that there's a reason to take the risk. I There's too much to lose. I'm not willing to do it no matter how fun they are And I'm sure they are fun, but I'm in a stage in my life where fun and risk have kind of swapped and it's not really worth like I don't find the it could be the funnest thing in the world than to me it is worth the risk anymore There probably was a time where I where I maybe should have pursued that But I didn't and also your frame like We want to see you on a motorcycle. Felipe and I are Motogutsi enthusiasts. We are My father had one of them of course much all right Two more. We're doing two more. We're doing two more. We're doing two more. We're doing two more two more two more No, I'm from Mazi, Meister, Doug and friends. I have a question about the Sequoia If told Toyota head sold the GR Sport 300 series Land Cruiser in the US even with the tariffs to do you'd bought it? Yes without even the slightest question I undoubtedly period would have bought that car. I wouldn't about the GR Sport because I think a Tainus But I would have bought whatever the most off-roady version of the Land Cruiser is period I like 700h overdrive do you own one? There wasn't that option when I bought the Sequoia But there is now a 300 series and I'm kind of off it I've driven the Sequoia more and more and I'm like into the Sequoia again The Sequoia is the Land Cruiser of the modern era The LX600 existed when you buy the Land Cruiser. Yeah, but it was a stupid hybrid and there was no off-road version Now it's real now. There's like a good hybrid and there is an off-road version and it has It has crawl control and and not be tires Final question and this one is more for Kenan from Liam's cell I was glad to hear you talk about the Aston Martin vanquish was a God-O shooting break on the spoke entire podcast you don't pull it up Let's see. Let's see this. You know this car? Of course you do not. I have never seen anything I know everything hatchback related Everything everything what do you know about the A12 comfort? It's your own. I watched your review of it years ago And it's been on my list of dream cars ever since mine too I always thought it was completely unobtainable But as you pointed out they're already selling for half less than half of their original MSRP What do you think their price floor is and how much do you think they're worth it? I'll tell you this I They were 900 new they're selling for 400. I don't ever have any interest in buying an automatic as a fun car Like zero interest in it because if I want to have fun I want to go out and have a whole experience. Yep. There's about three exceptions to that and this is one of them If this car got into a price point I think it's just so cool Zagato did a station wagon of a V12 Aston Martin. It makes no sense It's an M-Coup but done by Zagato and Aston Martin with a V12 It's absurd I'm with the TTC for Lucid Right but twice the price But there's only a hundred of these in the world and it's it's a Zagato special edition There's probably only 20. I agree it's a very special It's cool as hell 400 is not my number though But if I could if I could be interested in one of the I would talk about one of these at about the 993 Turtles number 225-250 I would talk about it for sure I wouldn't be surprised if it gets there Yeah, you know If I could get a 177 square steering wheel in it I get that in Yes Came in the vanquish anyway As an option No, I think it was standard I wouldn't want to deviate from the build This is a historical car Philippo Historical I'm pretty confident Historical and it's look at that steering wheel with square But I know it's square Yeah, I'm sure that was and that's the standard steering I know you're sitting there thinking it isn't square But I'm telling you man when you use it it is square You don't have It looks like a circle but it's deceptive That's how they get you It's a square with round edges Like a Pager 208 Sure Excuse me But the Pager was that what do you Pager 208 I know that's at the very end The old Pager 208 I thought that out Philippo, do you have any final thoughts for us Come sell your car on Carthage Cars and bins It's the greatest website if you have a mega cruiser Or vanquish is a gotto shooting break Well promise you if you have a vanquish the gotto shooting break We'll get you every bit of what it's worth $316,000 Cars the bids sell it there And that's that Goodbye is one of our finest pot Not our finest Close There was that great Whistland diesel one Tantle one That's great Go watch that one Yeah And have a good Doug Sember everybody Goodbye Goodbye Don't clap you
