Summary

Deebo and Joe discuss Jalen Hurts' coachability issues reported by ESPN sources, analyze Puka Nacua's rehab facility check-in following alleged anti-semitic statements, and react to Tiger Woods memes while touching on Floyd Mayweather's financial controversies and extravagant spending habits.

Insights
  • Anonymous sourcing in sports reporting creates credibility challenges—unnamed Eagles sources claiming Hurts isn't coachable lack accountability, making it difficult to separate fact from speculation
  • Young athletes face disproportionate scrutiny for social media statements made before fame, highlighting the permanence of digital content and need for early media literacy
  • Proactive rehab admissions by high-profile athletes may serve dual purposes: genuine self-improvement and damage control for upcoming contract negotiations
  • Winning records shield organizational dysfunction from public scrutiny; performance failures expose internal issues that existed during success but went unreported
  • Extreme wealth enables unsustainable spending patterns that eventually require financial restructuring, as evidenced by high-profile athletes taking advances against future earnings

This is an I Heart podcast. Guaranteed human sources with the Eagles organization believe Jalen Hertz is not the most coachable says Jeremy Fowler. Yeah. Key notes. They talking about, well, the one big one is the four of the other Eagles last game in the playoff game. What was that? See, Hertz was the person who called the four verticals on the Eagles last play 2026 playoff, not Kevin. Put two low now. I know we're talking about. They talking about the. The game with San Francisco, it was like 43 seconds left. They ran for a verse. Reading it, it didn't sound like he called it. It sounded like they act. Well, reading the article, they said they asked him. He gave a suggestion and the Eagles went with his suggestion. That's a big difference between him just saying, hey, this is what I'm running. Let's go. And why wouldn't you ask your quarterback, you know, what he would suggest he's the one that's going to be thrown a ball. He has to be the most comfortable person with the play, I would think. And. I don't see that being an issue, but as a head coach, office coordinator. You all need to. Do what y'all think is best for the team that play whatever. Obviously, everybody thought that they were in agreement of that because that was the play they ran. But. You know. You just ran that play. I think it was the play right before it. It just ran the same place. So to double back on it. I don't think it was a good idea because if it was open, the first thing we go do as defenders, especially if it wasn't covered well is we're going to be like, hey, if they do that again, we got to cover, you know, X, Y and Z. So. To come back to next play and do that. That's just crazy to me. But that wasn't, you know, the only thing that they stated they also went with. They said. They wanted he wanted to avoid under center play, reluctant to let it rip at times, particularly against own coverages, pushed back on changes that would. Diversify the scheme. Poor body language. Not always brought in. Bought in a diverse from the game plan and changes play cause to an excessive degree. I mean, and not the most coachable. And his teammates notice. Hmm. Like I don't. I don't know. You giving him that option to if you're giving him that option to make play calls and change play calls, then you have to be comfortable enough with his decision making in that process. When you look at, you know, guys like, you know, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, hell, Ben Ben even does it. I mean, you know, you look at guys quarterbacks that were able to do that and go out there and convert and change the plays, you know, Aaron prime example. Last year, he's the reason why we were able to get as far as we did because it damn sure wouldn't have been a 500 season if we didn't have him. So. I think I need this is where I need like, like the like the source. I need a name attached to it, but you know, so I could give it or take away credibility from what is being saying. And then again, they can't because they're still with the team. They worked there. Now I want to have to deal with no, no lash back from it. Where there's smoke, it's usually usually a little bit of fire, you know, whatever lie is a little bit of truth. You know what I'm saying? But again, you know, it kills all this. Winning kills all this. You ain't hear nothing about this until just this year after that, I had a couple, couple down seasons and then I had to go out there and I had to go down seasons and now all of a sudden the man ain't coachable. He he can't make this throw. He changed this. He do that. Like where was all this at before this happened? If you was winning, getting the Super Bowls and all that in the playoffs, in the Super Bowl, winning Super Bowl, where was it at? Tell me about that then. Tell me when it was telling me when it's going good was going bad through the organization and y'all still doing great. That you got to fix how much better you could be then. Let's get that. How much better could you be then if you win the Super Bowls and you still got so much going on back here. If you change all that, instead of it just being one, now it could be two in a row, maybe it could be three in a row. Like you fix all the back end, even though you're winning on the front. See, don't nobody want to fix nothing to the records and the in your whole, you know, thing starts to change. Like, hey, I'm just, I'm just, you know, spit balling off my head. That's what I do. But if I have something that's working good, why wouldn't I want it to work great? I have something that's working great. Why wouldn't I want it to work excellent? The whole goal is perfection, even though we'll never get to the perfection part. The goal is perfection. Coach LeBord would tell us, Hey, baby, we always strive for perfection. You know what I'm saying? We ain't gonna never get there. We know that, but the goal is to go and try and attain it. They in, they out, weekend, week out. And hopefully at some point we could put up the perfect, the perfect defense. Y'all want to hear with the perfect defense? Chat, y'all want to hear with the perfect defense? You want to hear the numbers of the perfect defense? I know y'all want to hear the numbers of the perfect defense. The numbers of the perfect defense is this. Zero yards, rushing zero yards, passing 350 something sacks. The defense don't give up nothing. It's impossible. Perfection is impossible, but you still shoot for it. You don't give up no points. You don't give up no yards. You don't give up no yards. You'll do none of that. As a matter of fact, speaking of Coach LeBord, I might have a surprise for y'all on Monday. Monday, I may have a surprise for y'all on Monday. I'm just saying, it might be, you know, just make sure you hear from Monday. You know what I'm saying? Tell everybody, you know, tell your friends, tell your mama, tell your poppy, everybody here. Listen, the great, the great, Dick LeBord, the courtest defensive coordinator, the inventor of the real, fives on true light. He'll be here on Monday, talking and conversating. Matter of fact, if y'all got something y'all want to ask, you know, get it in the chat. He only go be here from one show. Might want to put it in the day to make sure it get in there. Cause you know how it get going. Thank you. Okay. Puka Nakuha has checked himself into a private facility. His attorney confirmed to focus on health, personal growth and overall development. Puka Chuck's just checked into the facility on his own and will remain there until he completes a program of head of the Rams OTAs that start in a few weeks. Chat, which I'll think about this. Um, what was it? Hmm. So last month, he allegedly had a. What they call a unprovoked, anti-semitic statement on New Year's and I guess better allegedly on her shoulder, which he denied. I believe another incident was in December or he was on a live stream and it was another statement of whatever it was, but he ended up apologizing for that. So it was in the same nature of the last statement from last month. He apologized for it. That was a live stream, I guess from December. It was also reported that he had already checked in. Um, a substantial substantial time before the allegations that are currently out were public. So I think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. He's trying to take accountability, um, improve himself. He's young and it said that, you know, he likes to have fun, drink a little bit. And y'all know how that go. That mess with your judgment, you know, so. Um, I'm hoping, you know, everything comes out for the best for him. But again, y'all know, I said, I, I, I know me. I look at it from both sides, you know, and, you know, you also have to be thinking that maybe he got wind of it. It's, it's a contract, you know, it's coming up. And before, you know, this goes public because you already know it could affect the deal. He needs to get ahead of this and try and do some damage control and show that he's trying to better himself, you know, to, you know, lessen the blow and get out of it. And as you know, the same goes, what is it saying? Uh, uh, a drunk mind speaks a sober heart. I don't know. I mean, I hope personally that, you know, he's there to better himself. He saw the error of his ways and, you know, all that. And I'm wishing the best for him, you know, but. Only time will tell if, if that's the case or not. Wish the best for all players, especially in growth, you know, if you was to look at me back when I was, what is he, 24, 25? Oh, Oh man. I got so lucky. What? No social media back then. Ooh, a lot of us did. Like, you know, now you say something that 17, 18, 16 years old, they come back 10, 20 years later, you said this when you were better. Yeah. You know, it's tell my kids this. Listen, don't say nothing that you don't want to be. Judgeful or that you won't stand behind 100%. Don't put it out nowhere because this stuff don't go away no more baby. It don't go away. You can't, you can't have something be said. Like you can't have it. Like it's hard though, you know, especially when you're young, like you spitting vinegar and you really think you know everything you don't know. Say you don't know nothing. You know, you might have some people listening to you and like now, all of a sudden you when they start listening to you, oh, yeah, I'm right. No, it's a lot of stupid people out there and you may be one of the stupid people that's agreeing with stupid people. That's all. I don't, I don't understand. You know, and then you added to the fact that, hey, you might have some paper with you, might have some money with you. So now you got, you might have a whole bunch of yes man behind you. You know what I'm saying? Hey, yeah, you write, dawg. Yep, you write. Maybe they just there to see if they can get something from you. And then it may not even be getting something from you. It's just being around you, having, you know, having access to you. You know what I'm saying? I don't, you know, I don't know. I do know or I can assume, I should say, but you got to, you know, you got to keep an eye on all that. Now, you don't, you don't want to, you don't want to be on the internet, you know, out here, like looking like Tiger Woods, man. Like check this out. Put it up. Put it where we got this. We got this right here. Listen, man, come on. Like Tiger going to get some help too. He needs it. He understood. I don't know if he understands it fully, but like, listen, go, go, go to the. Go to the next. My dude is in that. Is he yawning or is he screaming? I can't tell. Bruh. I need John here. Like this golf thing. Tiger Woods. But this one right here, that's the coldest. Chad, that's the coldest right there. Where you all, any Dallas fans in here, man? What are, what are, what are, what are, what are, what are Dallas fans at? We got, you got any Dallas fans in there? Is this, this is a true false statement. Please tell me. Tiger Woods has as many DUIs and car crashes as, as many DUI and car crashes than the Dallas Cowboys have playoff wins in the last three decades. Hey, last three decades. That's crazy. That's crazy. We didn't boys though. That's what they say. They say we didn't boys. I can't, I can't tell. I can't tell you them boys. But I think the best one is the next one. Hey, yo, still better at finishing drives than the Cleveland Bronx. This, hey, this is facts people. This is facts. Hey, he still. You can't, you can't knock it. It's a true statement. You can't deny me of this, man. I ain't, I'm just a mess. I didn't make these up. I did not make these up. I'm just, I'm just showing what's out there. I'm reporting, reporting the news sort of speed. I'm just, I'm just showing what's out there. I'm reporting, reporting the news sort of speed. You know, like, and see, this is why I really needed Joe here. He would, he would have a greater appreciation or hate. Dislike, maybe a rebuttal, maybe some discussion. You know, like, like your boy needs a drop. That's all, that's all that's to it. You know, I don't understand. Like, I think he's a little concerned about, you know, concerned about privacy issues and all that other stuff and blah, blah, blah. But man, have him sign a, a NDA or some sort or get you a car, bro. That got a whole silt off area. They can't hear or see nothing unless you call them. Like they can't do nothing back there. Like it don't matter or like, I don't know. It got to be some way shape or form. And you ain't got to worry about nothing no more. Is Tiger even married anymore? He ain't married. Man, you could do what you want to do. Like, you got a girlfriend or something? Maybe I don't know. Let's go to this next one, man. See, Joe, this is where I need you, man. Your boys just, your boys just teed off without me. Yo, Joe, this is what you said. This is what you said. Hey, yo, just tee off without me. I'll meet you at, I'll meet you at the fourth hole. Nope. Not this time, baby. Why, why it looked like my boy hiding in the bushes? Like ain't nobody saying. He peeking out like, did anybody see me flip this whip? Like, come on, man. You know, the thing you flip that whip. He's trying to call somebody to come get him before, before anybody else. No, it's over with, bro. You got to, what is that, a roving? They done called, they done called the medical emergency already, as soon as the car went sideways. On Star, maybe even your phone, then called them too. Like, you, you, like, like, I don't even know, bro. Like, I know you limited on your privacy and all that, but. You know. One car, two car, then you. Oh, no, that was, that was just, that was the white one. Put that club on it. I was thinking of something else. Yeah. Look here, man, this was me. This was me, man. When your mom, when you ask your mom from, when you ask your mom to go to McDonald's, she says it's food at home. That was me. That was, that was when I liked to go to McDonald's. Right. I couldn't even say nothing. I'd have to look straight ahead too, because you know, if you eyeball, you go get popped. No, if you eyeball, you go get popped. Don't, don't, don't, don't get no size. Or not, what you say? Don't do none of that. You looking, you looking for trouble. Damn, Joe. It's a shame, man. Like Tiger, you and, what is the second third? Second third time he's in. We had. I don't know. I'll A. I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm a. Yeah, I'm a hope and pray that, you know, he's able to figure out what he need to do, how he can get back to where he needs to be, to be able to. Another initial. Cause was, you know, the surgeries and all that and pain management and all that and getting, getting the wrong people around you that's allowing certain things and then, you know, them allowing it in the process, you know, possibly trying to keep where they're at. I could have swore he just did a. A thing where he said he wasn't taking no more of anything. He was using some. Was it CBD or some type of treatment or something? Am I right? I don't remember. Maybe it was. No. Be game. So. Floyd may weather. Is accused of taking an advanced payment for many. Pacquiao rematch. Pacquiao's camp says. May weather took upfront money. Signed for a pro fight and is now trying to change the terms. I don't know what's going on with with Floyd. But. Something going on, man. It's too much smoke going on around there. Like this is the same cat that I guess he. He spends like crazy extravagant amounts of money. Like he only wears shoes, they say like one time and then he, you know, he gets rid of them. Buying. Three and four of the same watch, just different color or some different like spending millions of dollars. Like how you don't wear your clothes and shoes more than one time? That made no sense. That made no sense. Like you got to run out of money and you spending big money for stuff. It's like it's no way. That you can keep that up and not be bringing in like. Hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars of hell a month, probably. How many cars is do guy? What? Two and three of the same car, like four or five, six hundred. He got a million dollar cars. Like what's the what's the one car that he got? That's like four or five, six million dollars or something. Don't he got like two of them or something? And he didn't really nothing or he just giving away. Who knows, man? You ain't wearing shoes for one time. You ain't wearing clothes for one time. They say this man got five Bugatti's. He got six team World Royce's. OK, 33 Mercedes. From the same dealership, bro, all that from the same dealership. How in the world? And probably paying cash for it straight off the line. I might need to get a car dealership where he. I can't afford that car dealership. Joe, this is something. This is something I ain't going to say Joe would do, but this is like, you know, just some Joe wouldn't even he wouldn't even blink at all. You got all you got five Bugatti's that ain't none, bro. You got to, you know, which color you don't know if you want to drive the same color every day, you know? He just bought a four point eight million dollar car. What a body that simmers like the four point eight million for a car. What are we doing? Four point eight million dollars for a car. And they talking about back taxes and everything else. You taking advancements? Bro, you spending. I don't even know. I need an advance on something. You mean I don't four point eight million. You need no advancements. You got a four point eight million dollar car, bro. Sell all that. Sell it all. I got I know somebody you can sell it to. I know name. They did this was is no. I'm going to say that because I got the same initials. That's crazy. They name is Joe Hayden. They name is Joe Hayden. I was going to say that this is a J.H. But I want you to think it was me, bro. I got that kind of paper, bro. I ain't got nothing close to it, man. Like. Like, no, I can't I can't afford it. I don't know how to afford it, man. And I'm just trying to keep the lights on. And the lights on that they go lights on. The power on. I think my power is still on. Internet still on. And that's still working. I'm doing good. Chad, I'm still on here. The internet still working. Yeah, it's still on here. Hell, yeah, listen, that's what we got to do. That that's it. That's it. 4.8 million. I ain't going to lie to you. I saw a car. I did see a car one time and it was recent and. Like. I could never buy it. Maybe I could. I would have to have stupid money, though. And then it would just be so wasteful. I could do other good things with that money. You know what I'm saying? You know, I can I can afford to do something stupid here and there, but I can't live stupid. I think, you know, when you live stupid and you spend too much, that's when you get in trouble. But the car was like 12 million dollars. Now. The only way I think. I wouldn't. Contemplate buying that car. Is if. By some. While stretch of imagination. I can't maybe a billionaire. But I can't just become billionaire. I got to be bringing in. I got to be bringing in like. Maybe 150 to 200 million. Yeah. Because the money go away fast. OK, it will go away fast when you spend it like that. OK. Now, I need. I don't know what kind of car was. And why have been some kind of Bugatti or some sort or some other kind? It was like a race. When the race car. But it looked nice. I got to ask my son, he the car, though. He showed me it. He's like, dad, you can get it. I'm like, no, I can't. Yeah, you can. No, I can't. I can't unless you want to be living up under a bridge somewhere. So I can't afford that. Never could never will. But maybe. Maybe. And never know. Never know. Hopefully, hopefully. Look here, man, I'm going to jump on into the chat. Covering like she bag. She got. She asked five dollars coming to life. What do you think about the franchise tag with Pickens and Jerry's comments about his agent? What was the comments about Jerry's agent? Is it the same agent that was. My decision. What were the comments? I'm trying to. What were the comments? I didn't see him. Tell me in the chat. What was it? What was the comments? We'll get back today. Once y'all get to me, it's a little delay on this though. Back to Covenant Live. Five dollars. Five dollars. Resurrection Sunday testimony. On the third day he rose. Meaningful Cleveland still. Meanwhile. Cleveland still waiting. Cleveland still waiting on a season to rise. Hey, man. Clearly. Listen, I love this. Hey, listen. Listen, y'all. Y'all need to do something. Right. Y'all need to. Hey. Y'all need to do something. Y'all can't. 89. He still ain't winning. 89. He still ain't even winning. You got the north. That was it. That was it. You got the AC north. That was it. Y'all can't even get the north one more. Y'all can't even beat three other teams. Consistently. The year Joe was born. That was it. Man. Listen here, man. Oh my. Oh my. Good Lord. Cutting the light back. She be flooding the chat. She be flooding the chat. We love you. Appreciate you for it. No question. Three dollars. She said, D-boy, I could have co-hosted with you and pretended to be Joe and responded just as he would. Joe, you messed up my. Joe, you messed up my how well do you know your co-host, Jeopardy Edition. I will ask the chat. You know the hundred yard return before James was a stiller. You know the hundred yard return, but before James was a stiller, he played in NFL Europe. Which team did he play for? Oh chat. NFL Europe. Which team did I play for? It was three hundred dollars. This is a question we need to be asked. Covenant Life said, Hey chat, this for the chat though. Which team did I play for? And NFL Europe. Which team? Don't be going and looking and going on chat, GPT and all that. Cheating. Let's see. Let's hop back to the. Franchise y'all. Y'all give me that franchise. Tell me what Jay, we probably ain't got no cowboy fans here. We kind of talk crazy to him. Yes, somebody was right. Ryan fire. Ryan fire immediately. Listen. Y'all can go to Germany if y'all want to. I'm cool with it. It was cool. It got done what I needed to get done, but the NFL Europe experience, that wasn't that one for me. Period. Like the NFL Europe experience wasn't for me. I like doing what I was doing over there playing the game, but. Like it was, it was worse than playing on practice squad. Like it was worse than that. Like you, you, you, you, at least on practice squad, you got paid some good money. I think I was getting like, I hundred dollars a week. Like this. And then the, you know, they get your housing and whatever, you stay in a hotel and, you know, all that, but you can't, what they do for you, you still got to do other things for yourself. And then you had guys over there to hold families too. And they were over there playing for, I'm like, ooh, it was, you had to want it. That's for sure. Like. You had to want it for sure, but I did not like the experience. What we got here. Oh my goodness. They said Jerry said Pickens would save a lot of money if he did the deals directly without an agent. Same BS. He tried with Micah. That's purple yet I pack. Wow. Purple yet he pack purple. Yeah. Purple yet he pack. I don't even know if you can do that. Can you, can you do your contract without an agent? I think you can, but it don't never work that way. You use your agent as the in between to say the things that you shouldn't directly say. Or be upset about because of the process of how you got to work that out. Once you actually do do the deal or you don't do the deal. So all this stuff that Jerry is talking about is nothing but stuff to benefit him. It has nothing to do with the players to benefit him and his team and to get the money. His team and to get a player at a cheaper price or a better price than what the value is of what they should be paid. Period. Like, yeah, go without representation. Go without representation. Yeah. Don't know of the wording that I'm putting in here where I changed two or three words and now you're screwed and you got to give me all your money back because you said it. Don't listen to me. Don't listen to me. Y'all cry. Y'all out of control. Out of control. He has this and you can't you can't do that man. Get your money. Get your money pickings. Use your agent. Use your lawyer. Use your turn. Use everything. Pay 10. You need to pay top dollar man. You gave top performance. You need to pay top dollar. Period. End of discussion. Look here man. Thank you guys for joining us. Oh, it's thanks you for joining me on this episode of Dibo. Please make sure you like, subscribe and download where you get to show. We, Dibo and Joe, will be back here on Monday with Dick LaBeau.
