•Feb 2, 20263 months agoSummary
This episode explores the neuroscience and psychology behind manifesting a dream body, emphasizing identity shifting, emotional alignment, and mindful intention-setting. The host discusses how breaking through self-imposed limits requires changing your self-concept, connecting your mind to physical actions, and cultivating feelings of abundance before achieving external results.
Insights
- Identity is the primary determinant of physical manifestation—your brain maintains you within upper and lower limits based on what feels 'normal and familiar,' requiring deliberate identity shifts to achieve goals outside current self-concept
- The placebo effect creates measurable biological changes; intentional thinking during physical actions (gym, eating) activates neural pathways that improve actual performance and results
- Emotional detachment paradoxically accelerates manifestation by shifting the nervous system from fight-or-flight (predictable, limited thinking) to rest-and-digest (open to possibility and creative solutions)
- You must cultivate the feeling associated with your goal before achieving it externally—loving your body before it changes, feeling abundant before earning more money—to rewire your brain's perception
- Continuous manifestation occurs through every thought and action; you're either reinforcing existing neural pathways or creating new ones, making everyday mindfulness and intention-setting critical

Hello, my friends, and welcome back to Planet M, a podcast all about neuroscience, psychology, spirituality, and real-life tools that you can use every single day to be your best self. And this episode, I'm very excited about because we are going to talk about manifestation and some of the major keys that I think of when it comes to manifesting what you want. And now I'm very, very excited about this episode. Well, first of all, we are on the go, as you can see if you're watching the video version of this episode. But I'm very excited about this episode because I want to talk about specifically manifesting your dream body and the neuroscience behind that. Now, the reason I want to kind of focus on this topic specifically is because I had a student in Minecraft. He kind of came on a group coaching call. And by the way, guys, if you're not necessarily interested in manifesting this specific thing, don't worry because the steps that I'm going to be describing will be applicable to manifesting whatever it is that you want. So don't worry about that. But I had a student in Minecraft and he came on, he was on a live call and he got on the coaching call and he was talking about sort of like asking me questions about manifesting a dream body and building muscle, et cetera. And I kind of took a moment to describe to him the way that I think about building your dream body and manifesting and the way that I think about fitness. And of course, there are identity components to that. There are belief components. There are limiting belief components. And so I kind of took a moment to talk a little bit about my mindset around fitness and physical health. And he came back, I think it was either a week or two later, and he got on the call and he said that he was already seeing results. It was, I think, two weeks later and he was already seeing results. He's like, I've been doing this, placeboing myself in this, doing this. And he's like, I already look different. And so that inspired me because I think a lot of people have this limiting belief or mindset that it takes all this time, that it takes all this time to see changes. And it's just not the case at all. It doesn't have to take that long. And that was the first thing that I said to him. And whenever he was asking me the question, I said to him, I said, hold up right there. Because, you know, personally, if I decide to really lock in and get serious about my physical health and fitness, and I say I have an event or I have something that I want to be extra fit for, I'll see a difference within a week if I really, you know, want to. And I think that mindset of, and this was something that me and my friends And we've always said, I think, you know, just for years, like, oh, yeah, like we can we see our bodies more. We morph literally so quickly. We see results so quickly. My body is morphing and I just it changes immediately if I want it to. That's just that's my reality. That's the reality that I live in. I see changes so quickly and I'm so detached from it. It's a part of my identity. It's a part of who I am. I've been working out. I was doing P90X in the garage in middle school and I've just always been physically fit. always like exercise has always been just a part of who I am it is my personality it's a part of my personality and so as you guys know if you've been listening to my podcast your identity is so important your identity is your destiny I'm going to do its own podcast I'm going to do an entire episode about identity and how important it is and just different identity anchors and the neuroscience behind you know why your identity becomes your reality and why it determines the direction of your life I'm actually writing about that right now in my book as I'm writing it but It's a part of who I am. And so for me, it's very easy. And as soon and my brain doesn't let me fall off. Because as soon as I start to, you know, feel maybe a little, a little puffy or whatever the case may be, my brain immediately goes, Oh, no, and you get in the gym or, you know, it's a part of my personality. And every single person has an upper limit and a lower limit to which they will allow themselves to sort of oscillate between. And this is true for everything. I remember I was learning about this actually in a business course that I took way back in the day when I first graduated grad school. After I graduated with my master's in neuroscience, I spent almost all of my savings, invested in myself, almost all of my savings to take this business course. And I remember learning about these upper and lower limits that we all allow ourselves to oscillate between in life. And fitness is a great example of one. every single person we have these upper and lower limits of what we will allow ourselves to oscillate between and these limits describe what is normal and familiar to the brain understanding neuroscience of it it's like yes okay for me what is normal and familiar to my brain is to be physically fit and healthy like that's normal and familiar and so my brain is going to keep me there and as soon as maybe if i start to get like super fit i remember i was keto for a little while in undergrad and I lost a lot of weight. Actually, I was very skinny. I was working out really hard. I was in impeccable shape. And now it's not necessarily a part of my identity to be in impeccable tip top fitness showroom shape. All right. That's not necessarily it. I'm more of like a comfortable fit type of gal. And so right. And I literally just gave it away right there when I said it. that's my identity, the comfortable fit. So you know, how long did I last being that extremely fit? Not very long, because that was the upper limit of what was normal and familiar to my brain, right? And so it's only natural that my brain is going to bring me back down to the middle, and then to the lowest point. And it actually did. I remember, might have been a year and a half ago. Now I was at my friend's apartment. I was talking to her and I was showing her pictures of whenever I first got to my PhD and what I looked like and I was like, dang, I need to get back to that level of fit again. And it wasn't that huge of a difference from where I was at, right? But that was an example of me reaching that lower limit of where my brain would allow me to go. And so our brains are always going to allow us to oscillate between these upper and lower limits. And those are determined by what is normal to us. And now a huge, huge part of manifesting what we want is understanding that if what you want is outside of what is normal and familiar to you, you're gonna have to break through that upper limit. And one way to do that is through identity shifting and changing your self-concept and the type of person that you believe to be, right? In my story, I gave it away, I wasn't even planning on it. I said, I'm a comfortably fit type of cow. I'm not one of those people that goes to the extremes. When it comes to fitness now with other things, absolutely, absolutely. I go to the extremes in plenty of other areas, but when it comes to fitness, I'm not that. That's not me. I'm not one of those gym influencers with the like, I do have ads. I will say that. But I'm not one of those crazy, you know, gym influencers. And no, all the power to them, all the power to them. No shame to them. That's their thing, right? It's not necessarily my thing. And so my point here, though, is that that is one way to break through that upper limit. It is to shift your self-concept and the type of person that you believe yourself to be. That's an amazing way to do it. Absolutely incredible. There are many ways that you can start to shift that. I love visualization for identity shifting. It is so fantastic. So fantastic. And so I think we're just going to stick to this dream body manifestation example for this episode because it's just so easy to paint the picture. And so if I am wanting to become extremely physically fit, then I'm going to have to shift the type of person, right? I am, I am one of those extremely fit people. Like I am that I am like one of those gym influencers. And you start to shift, you know, affirmations are great. Scripting is great. But I love visualization. Visualize yourself achieving that dream body and who and I love this. It's, it's not necessarily about visualizing the achievement or visualizing, achieving or receiving the thing that you want or having the thing that you want. It is about visualizing you doing that so that you can clearly identify the type of person you have to become to get that thing. And so if I'm trying to visualize myself with the dream body, I'm going to visualize that and really get clear and become aware of who is that version of me? Who is she? Because at the end of the day, that is who we are being called to become. All of our dreams were planted within us for a reason because of who they call us to become. Every single goal and dream that you have calls you to step into a higher version of you. And so identifying who that higher version of you is, is an amazing way to kind of short circuit. And it's a cheat code really to manifest and get what you want faster. And so clearly identify who it is, and then work on becoming that person, start to identify as that person, move like that person, think like that person, believe things like that person. And if you get really clear on who that person is, right? I know when I visualize that girl, that's crazy like that in the gym. She is always filtering all of her decisions through what is going to help me achieve this goal of physical fitness, of extreme physical fitness, whether it be food, whether it be her habits, whether it be her routines, she's always filtering her decisions through what is going to help me be at my tip-top level of fitness and now this is why I like to say it is important to be extreme about what you want and it is important and and you got to be extreme because when you when you go to the extreme and you go all in and you fully immerse yourself in what it is that you want whatever it is you're trying to manifest your brain filters your reality it filters every decision every action every thought through the lens of will it help me get closer to this thing that I'm going all in on? Am I moving like the version of myself who has that thing? That is why it can be so helpful to really focus on the thing and really be immersed in whatever it is that you're moving toward. And I know personally in my own life right now, it's all about my book. My life is all about my book right now, all about it. And everything that I do, I'm like, okay, what am I going to write my book. And that's the way that my brain is filtering my reality right now. And that is amazing. And that is the life that I'm living right now. And I was talking to my manager today and I was like, nope, nope, there's no balance currently. Nope. It's all about, my life is all about my book. And that's completely fine. When I was in my PhD and I was also creating content on the side, like that's what my life was all about. And there are periods where my life is about fun and not that what I'm doing isn't fun. I love writing my book and I love filming this podcast and doing what I'm doing, Like genuinely, I love what I do and it's so fun. And I just got to meet up actually with all my Minecraft people right before this and it was so fun. And so I love what I do, but there are times when, you know, going on a trip and really just cultivating my relationships, that's the mission and that's the focus and that's the priority. And I like going all in on those different things and being able to give whatever I'm doing my 100%. And so that is one way of identity shifting is absolutely fantastic. visualization is a great way to do that. It can help you get very clear on the version of you who has what you want, who has that dream body. But, you know, visualization is only one tool. You can also just choose to identify as that version of you And also you can sit down and ask yourself if I want to be in the best shape of my life I going to identify as a type of person who in the best shape of their life How do people like that move What do people like that do? Well, they are usually members at a gym. They're knowing about their nutrition. They are usually friends or in some sort of community with other people that are doing that too because it is a lifestyle. It's absolutely a lifestyle. And then every time you catch yourself thinking the opposite direction, you just bring yourself back, right? It's a practice, but you bring yourself back and you continue to reinforce the identity of the person that you are becoming. And now I think that there's one other part to this when it comes to identity is that I think can be very helpful that I don't think I've ever touched on before is getting clear on what your identity is now. So if I am trying to be in the best physical shape of my life, I just gave it away. I personally don't see myself as an extremely physically fit person. I am a comfortable fit person. And I just told you guys that. And so that is sort of something that is really important to become aware of is what is your identity now before you move into this next step? If you're, you know, wanting to become a millionaire, if you're wanting to get into the best shape of your life, if you're wanting to, you know, manifest love, whatever it is, like, what is your identity now? What type of person are you right now? Before you even think about the type of person you're wanting to become, who are you now? because that will give you a clear picture on the starting point. It'll give you a very clear picture on the starting point. And so, you know, a lot of times we can just ask ourselves, who do we want to become? And then how can we become that? But I think sometimes it can be very helpful to become aware of where you're starting out at because you might have some blocks. For me, right? Like I, for the first time, and I keep bringing this up because I've never said that out loud. I've never even had that mental clarity. I've never, I've never thought that before. And so that just, I love that I'm having that experience right now live for you guys, because it goes to show you that we have these subconscious identities that we're not even aware of that are keeping us where we are. Now, personally, I like being a comfortably fit person. I would say I'm pretty fit. And maybe, maybe other people will look at me and say, you're pretty damn fit. I don't know about comfortable. But again, where I'm at is just my normal. And so it is comfortable to me. I don't feel like I have to work hard to look the way that I do or to be in the shape that I'm in. It doesn't feel like hard work at all. I just feel like I'm kind of in maintenance. But if I was wanting to level up, right, it might take a little bit of push. It might take a little bit of breaking through that upper limit. And so I'm just now having this realization that, hey, I identify as a comfortably fit person. And if I have a goal to get even more super fit, then maybe I need to do a little bit of identity shifting because I'm realizing right now that my identity is this kind of baseline level of fitness of where I am. So I think it can be very helpful to ask yourself like, OK, like, how do I think about myself right now in terms of what I'm trying to manifest? Where are you right now? What subconscious identities are you holding right now that you might not even be aware of? what type of person are you? And then you could go to work on shifting. Another part of this, and this is something that I said to my friend years ago when I first started my PhD. She has been on this fitness journey for a long time and she fluctuates in her level of fitness as does everyone. And I remember talking to her about her fitness goals and her fitness journey. And I remember telling her, you will never love your body until you love your body. No amount of exercise, exercise, fitness, working out, dieting, no amount of any of that is going to make you love your body until you make the conscious decision to love your body. And this was something, this is a piece of advice I gave years and years and years ago. It's still true. It's still completely true. You will never love your body until you love your body. And you know, all everything always connects back to the neuroscience of reality and thinking about how your brain constructs your entire experience of reality. People with body dysmorphia, they actually have differences in brain activation in areas that are responsible for putting together the image of whatever you're seeing. And so their brains are people with body dysmorphia specifically, their brains are actually constructing the image of them in the mirror differently. So it's not all in their head. They don't just see like they don't they don't just, you know, look at themselves. No, they're actually physically seeing themselves different. And so this is why it is so true. You'll never love your body until you love your body. You have to rewire the system that sees you before you will see yourself differently. And this is true for every single thing you want to manifest. You have to rewire the system in your brain before you will see it differently in physical reality. The job opportunities, the romance, the abundance, the love, the everything that you want, the physical fitness, the dream body, all of that is right in front of you. But if your brain isn't wired for it, it will not see it because your brain constructs your entire experience of reality. You'll never love your body until you love your body. And I love this phrase because of course it talks about the neuroscience of reality and it hits on that but it also kind of hits on that detachment and I get a lot of questions about detachment I think that we'll probably do a whole episode specifically on detachment soon as well but this is a huge component when it comes to detachment and the law of detachment and how if you are desperately gripping and wanting and holding on to something you're blocking it you're blocking yourself from getting it and now from a neuroscience perspective this is completely true because when you are desperately wanting something, when you're stressed, when you're gripping, when you're holding on, that level of stress actually gives you tunnel vision and you are only allowing yourself to see your reality in one specific certain way. But when you relax and you let go, when you actually open up, your brain can then filter for possibilities. And the way that I like to think about this is when you are in fight or flight, your brain is in predictable mode. It can only really filter your reality. It can only really have you think, feel, and act in ways that are predictable. You're sort of a closed circuit. And when you shift into that rest and digest state, that relax, that let go, well, your body can then relax and your brain actually opens up to possibility. So you've got the predictability branch of your nervous system and then you've got the possibility branch of your nervous system, right? And you can think of this in so many different ways. when you are stressed and a challenge comes, right? Let's say you're faced with a challenge and you're stressed. You will behave in predictable ways. You will behave in ways that you always have because you're in the realm of predictability. When you are stressed, your prefrontal cortex is actually less active and you're less able to be the conscious human creator that you are. And so when you are stressed, you know, attached, gripping onto something that you really want, You're less able to act as that creator that you want. You're really more of that closed loop, behaving in predictable, maybe even impulsive ways. You're more easily triggered emotionally, right? But when you're relaxed, and let's say a challenge comes, or you face a problem, and you're relaxed, you're actually way better able to think of different ways to solve that problem. you're able to sort of navigate and think more objectively about the situation and and know that this might not be the end of the world also i have no idea how this might turn out so why am i going to sit here and act like i know and you you've probably experienced this let's say when a friend approaches you with a problem right it's not your problem so you're a lot better able to stay calm and give really good advice right because you're calm that's the way the brain works you are a lot better able to be the conscious human creator that you are when you are in that state of calm when you're in a relaxed state and so this is one of the ways that's kind of a little neuroscience sort of one-on-one of you know how kind of remaining detached from a situation can be very helpful it can be very helpful for you i have had so many i have so many stories that i could share finally getting the thing that i want you know even like closing on my house and getting the keys. We were driving around all day long waiting to hear, get the word that it was officially our house. And it, and I remember asking my, we asked our realtor like, okay, once it turns 5 p.m., it probably is not going to happen today. It'll happen tomorrow because that's when the, whatever, courthouse, I don't even know how exactly how that works, but that's when they close. And so it hit five, we were driving around all day long waiting. It hit 5 p.m. and we were like, okay, so it's probably not going to happen today. It'll happen tomorrow. They're closing and we still haven't heard anything. So we decided to turn around and drive the 45 minutes home. And as five minutes later, after we fully let go and moved on, we get the call that the house is officially ours and we can go get the keys and we can go into our new home. And so that's just one example. I have so many examples of detachment, like things really do just come when you let go, right? All the answers come, the solutions, the energy, the joy, it all comes when you let go. It really is one of those keys that will make you just so much more powerful. And that doesn't mean that you stop caring, right? It doesn't mean that you stop wanting the thing that you want. It means the detachment to me is being okay, no matter what happens. It is feeling free to live in the state that you desire with or without the physical manifestation of what you desire. And the reason why we went on this loop or down this rabbit hole is because it all connects back to you will never love your body until you love your body. You don't want the things that you want. You want the feeling that you believe the thing that you want is going to bring you. Nothing has meaning in this world. And I'm sure you've heard that before. The brain is what assigns meaning. We are meaning making machines, right? And so a dream body, a million dollars, you know, your soulmate, none of that means anything except for the meaning that your brain has assigned to those things, right? So you don't want the million dollars, you want the feeling, you want the meaning that you've assigned to it. And so it is your job to get very clear on what is the meaning that I have assigned the things that I want? What are the feelings that I believe the thing that I want is going to bring me? What do I believe my dream body is going to make me feel? What am I going to feel like? Right? My dream body, I'm going to love it. It's going to make me love myself. Well, newsflash, it's not going to make you love yourself because you're never going to love yourself until you love yourself. Right. Exactly my point. And so you have to give yourself the feelings first. This is how I actually manifested a million followers on Instagram. I asked myself, I was live on in my Minecraft community and we were doing a manifestation workshop and I was teaching this exact concept and we were doing it all together. And I was like, okay, like what are the feelings that I believe a million followers is going to bring me? I said, I'm going to feel more official and accomplished. And then in that act I realized that I I had done enough I was worthy of feeling official and accomplished as I was Like I was at like 900 followers I have my business my coaching program my beautiful community I had so many reasons to feel accomplished already. I had done so much. The truth was that a million followers was never going to make me feel that way. I'm never going to feel that way until I feel that way. You're never going to feel the way that you want to feel until you feel that way. And you give yourself permission to feel that way now in the present. And the beautiful thing is that when you do that, what you want comes way faster. I've hit a million followers, I believe, maybe a month or two later after doing this exercise. That's the first reason it helps the thing that you want come way faster. Two, it just allows you to live the way that you want now because after all, that's the whole point. You want to feel that way. You have that desire to feel that way and now you get to feel that way. And that's beautiful. Now you get to enjoy your life more. That's amazing. Like that's a win in itself. If anything, you should do it for that reason. You should do it for reason number two, that it's going to make you enjoy your life more. And then reason number three is that it helps you practice detachment because now you no longer need the physical thing because you have the feeling that you really were after. And so of course, you're still going to want the physical thing just because it's fun. It's fun to plant rockets of desire and send them out into space and then work toward them and allow them to come to fruition. That's fun. But now you actually get to have fun doing it and you don't have to move toward it with this desperate empty energy that was the second point so the first was identity and the second was you don't want the thing that you want you want the feeling you're after and you're never gonna you're never gonna love your body until you love your body now let's talk about the next point which in the realm of physical fitness is connecting your mind to the movement now my student in minecraft he was i love the way that he went about this. So he was like, you know what, I'm going to, when I'm at the gym, every single rep, building my muscles, my muscles are growing. He's like, when I'm eating, I'm like, everything I eat is going for my gains. And those are just two examples. There were more, but this was actually something that I had said on the call prior when he brought this up to me. I said, you know, something that I like to do that I've, I've inspired some people through this is, you know, on Thanksgiving, if you're in the U S you've probably had Thanksgiving, but if you're not, then you can do this before any big meal. And I'll purposefully go and hit legs, which is really in my speak, glutes. Okay, you guys know this. But I'll go and I'll hit glutes right before Thanksgiving, right? Because I want to make sure all the calories I eat go straight to my glutes. And, you know, that might be completely incorrect with the way that it works. But I don't care. I really don't. I don't care about what's correct or not. I care that I'm going to go and I'm going to work out my glutes and then I'm going to eat so much food for Thanksgiving and every single calorie I eat is going to go straight to my glutes. And that's exactly the way that it works in my reality. You know, he took that, what I said, and he ran with it and then he, and guess what? He saw results in two weeks. So, and the placebo effect is real. All right. The mind creates real biological changes within the body. It does. When they develop drugs and drug development companies, when they, I learned this whenever I was minoring in medical pharmacology in grad school, when a drug a company develops a drug and they test the placebo they include the placebo effect in the percent efficacy of the drug because they don't care how it worked they just care that it worked because the placebo is a real biological change that is measurable okay so if your headache is relieved it's not just magically relieved there are actual measurable biological changes happening within your body and so it's never all in your head all right it actually is you know occurring in your body as well. Not that they're separate anyway, but that's besides the point. Okay. Connecting your mind to every single movement that you take. This is another piece of the puzzle of kind of going all in on your desires. When I'm working out, and this is so funny because I kind of caught myself. I thought about making this episode and then I caught myself doing it after the gym. So we were all, this past weekend, I was in Dallas and we were all snowed in. there was an ice storm and we were all snowed in. And so it was my fiance and his parents and his sisters and his sister's boyfriend. And it was just a great family gathering. It was like a Hallmark movie. And I'm just kidding. It was funny. We were kind of saying that as a joke. But anyway, we all went to the gym, you know, as like a little family outing. And I remember we got back into the car after the gym and I said, guys, we're all hot and skinny now. And when I said that, I kind of just laughed in my own head because I realized that I was manifesting and placeboing without even trying. Like that's just the way that I think. It's literally just my mindset now to always be manifesting and placeboing the things that I want. It's just the way that I think about myself now in life, especially with fitness. It's just way easier when it comes to fitness. And so obviously recognize that I'm still doing the work. I'm still going to the gym. And I'm like, We paid our hot tax. We went and we're all skinny now and we're all one step hotter. And it's like, yeah. And what does that do? What does that do? That also boosts dopamine. I'm rewarding myself for taking action, building momentum, celebrating the small wins. And now my brain is going to want to help me go to the gym again because I'm giving myself positive reinforcement. So if anything, it does that. It's rewarding and it makes me want to continue to work out. But also, I am reinforcing to my brain that the gym makes me fitter, healthier, hotter, makes me feel good about myself. And that's a win. But even when you're at the gym, right, with your movements, and this has nothing to do with manifestation, quote unquote, connecting your mind to the movement actually does improve your ability to, you know, it does improve the movement. It actually improves your performance. when you I've noticed this back whenever I used to practice my handstands and I would be in my handstand I would activate my mind in a different way and be like you can do this and I would think differently to myself when I'm in the handstand and I would find myself better able to hold the handstand okay I was actually better at doing the handstand when I was thinking positively and so thinking positively of course and telling yourself you can is really powerful but then also just when I'm doing my movements especially like working out legs or glutes and I'm I'm doing it I am focusing on the muscle group. Like I am even looking at it if I can. I'm looking at it with my eyes if I can. But if I can't, I'm focusing on the muscle group that I'm activating. Okay. This improves activation. Like that's not even woo-woo manifestation. That's none of that. That's actually just science. Okay. That's just physical science. And so it makes you more mindful in the movement. It makes you more thorough in your movement and it improves the movement. And so that is that is one kind of key component to this right it's like connecting your mind with the movement so every move you take every action every rep you are connecting your mind to the movement you will notice a huge huge huge difference with this but even after you move not just you know in the gym but also like we're talking about when you're eating when you're eating like being intentional intention is very powerful intention is very powerful so being intentional like yes every every bite of food I'm taking this is going to my glutes or what if you're trying to build your biceps this is going to my biceps right like I absolutely use the placebo effect and this is funny because in Minecraft I actually have a whole week's worth of content there's a module on nutrition and the the enteric nervous system which is the nervous system in your gut and how powerful that is I know for me I think you know before I was even into neuroscience I studied the enteric nervous system and gut and your gut and the gut brain connection and all of that because I really struggled with my mental health like I've discussed on here before and I found that and this kind of was just more of an intuitive sort of realization that I had had but what I ate really affected the way that I felt and so I had been mindful about the way that I eat for a long time and I have a whole module on that in Minecraft but my point of that I'm bringing this up is that I actually have a video where I was talking about how I placebo myself with food. If you can placebo yourself with a drug, you can absolutely placebo yourself with food. And I do it. When I remember to do it, it's not something that I do all the time. But you know, I will set an intention for the way that my book and I did this. Oh, this is a really good example. And you'll probably use this in your life. So there was this one day where I was just tired and not feeling it. And I remember I was making a matcha. And I think I had meditated right before that. And so I had this kind of inkling or intuition or whatever you want to call it this calling to set an intention over my matcha to like say a little prayer over it and set the intention that this matcha was going to be the thing that took me out of the mood and the energy that I was in and put me into a brand new timeline and it was just gonna make me feel what you know gonna make me feel great made me feel energized all the things and I remember it actually did completely change the game it had me feeling so much better. And so you can do this with your drinks too, not just food. Technically, you can do this with anything. I remember when I first moved to Arizona to start my PhD, I was doing this and there were some sidewalks where there would be like an archway, a tree or a cactus or even a doorway. And I would say, this is the portal to success or this is the portal to whatever. And I would always do that. And I would always feel better as I walked through it. And this was something and I believe I talked about this in my focus in ADHD episode as well I would as I would walk through the doorway to my classroom I would say you know as I walk through this doorway I'm like walking through the portal to more focus and I'm going to be able to learn and focus and remember what I hear in that classroom and I would sort of prime my brain to activate in a different way and so you can do this with so many different things but I think with food it's especially powerful. And so, and you know, this is ancient tradition, like praying over your food is not a new practice at all. So don't, don't, don't eat the messenger. It's not a new practice at all. It's just about being intentional and mindful about it. And of course you're about to put that into your body. So I would pray over it in whatever way that works for you. And if you're not a religious person or the word prayer doesn't sit, doesn't do you justice, then use something else, like setting an intention and intending for your food or drinks to make you feel the way that you want to feel. But a saying that I love is, if you want a blessed life, you should be blessing everything around you. And it's really true. And I just got done telling you that your brain is what assigns meaning to everything. So assign meaning to more things in a positive way. Assign meaning. I'm sitting here right now looking at a door across the hallway right here. And I'm thinking to myself let me sign a meeting to that door like that door is blessed that door a door was made in the image of god like you know the particles in that door are magical particles like this is the way that i used to think back in the day whenever i first went to my phd like this that was my baseline level of thinking and there's and it was the beginning of my journey so all of this was just still very fresh i still think this way for sure but it just was on another level back then And I was probably one of the happiest times in my life. So anyway, thinking that way and viewing everything as magical. And I think I don know if it Einstein or who said this but they said this is not a me quote This is somebody else quote But they said you can either view everything in life as a miracle or nothing as a miracle And those are really the only two options And I choose to believe that everything is a miracle So that is sort of my third category that I wanted to talk about when it comes to manifestation is, you know, start to look at everything in your life as something that can help you get closer to what you want. We talked about how you can, you know, set intentions into your food and drinks and be mindful with every single movement in the gym. And of course, we're using fitness as our example here. But you can extrapolate this and apply it to anything that you want to manifest, right? Like, if you're trying to manifest love, like, okay, everything that you do, like I'm going and getting a matcha right now this is an act of self-love toward myself that's going to make me a more loving person that puts me into a better position to attract more love like that's the way that you should start thinking everything in terms of how can i be you know how how how does all of this get me even closer to what i want and to the way that i want to feel and to the way that i want to feel that's really that's really the main point um and i think if you start to filter everything in reality to getting you closer to what is it you want then i think you're also just highlighting the gap so um when it comes like with my example of investing in yourself to get a matcha like an act of self-love like let it be that like okay this is an act of self-love that's making helping me love myself more and even let's for example we could take this to money mindset i like to i I remember I sent the video to one of my friends about how I like to, whenever I shop, I like to spend money with the feeling of that it's going to make me feel more expensive and more expansive. And when I spend money on myself, I feel more expensive and I feel more expansive and I feel more abundant and that allows me to attract more abundance, right? And so yes, it allows me to have more of what I want, but also it's allowing me to feel the way that I want to feel now, which is expensive, expansive, and abundant because that's the way that I want to feel, right? And so that's just another example of how, you know, you start to think of your everyday actions and everything that you're doing through the lens of how can this be twisted in a way that allows me to feel closer to the way that I want to feel. and these are some just of the ways that I think that it's come over time right and so not all this isn't gonna you know happen all at once and so I don't want you and of course as always give yourself grace with everything that you're doing but this is something that for me has developed over time and I know that you know I was just talking to in my Minecraft in our meetup I just met with a bunch of people in Minecraft about this about you know how when I go to the grocery store and one of the things that I've noticed is you know me now versus me a few years ago like when I'll go buy that six dollar wellness shot that tiny little shot and a tiny little container that's six dollars I will buy that and I will not even blink an eye because I am investing in myself and my own physical health which is extremely valuable old version of me would not have done that at all I'd have been like oh no that's such a waste of money like six dollars even if I could afford it it's a waste of money right and so this is just there's just these different ways of thinking that i think over time as you start to learn more and more about everything that i talk about and mindset and neuroscience and the brain and spirituality and psychology you start to just realize and recognize and implement everything that you're learning in different and creative ways because manifestation like i've said before it's not a one-time thing it's not an action it doesn't just happen when you're sitting down journaling or when you're visualizing or when you're writing your affirmations you are always manifesting with every thought every action every everything that you do you are manifesting at all times because you're like you manifest via the way your brain is wired, right? And you're always doing one of two things, reinforcing your current reality or creating a new one. You're all, you're either activating the same old pathways in your brain. So then you're going to continue to live the same old life because your brain's going to continue to build the same experience of your reality, or you choose different. You choose to be different. You choose to think different, feel different, behave different. And when you do that, you activate new pathways, you strengthen new circuits, and then your brain starts to build a different experience of reality. Okay, so that happens over time. And so all of these tools, which are journaling, meditation, visualization, all of these tools are great. And they're helpful for activating these new circuits in your brain, right? But you're always manifesting all the time with the way that you're thinking. And so I think just becoming aware of different scenarios where you might not have realized that you are thinking in a way that's actually keeping you from what you want is super helpful and that actually was the same the same student tyler he actually came to me on on a call um and he he had actually brought up the the wellness shot example and he was like can you do a whole coaching call on like all the different mindsets and the neuroscience of abundance and all of that just because you know we don't know what we don't know and he was like I want to know more about what I don't know. So shout out to him because that was like a great call too. And it actually helped a lot of people because another person that I met in person tonight, right before this, she actually said that she actually let me know that for the first time in her life, I believe she said she just, she was 40 years old and for the first time of her life, she was completely financially free. And, you know, that call especially was really helpful for her and all the mindsets, tips and tricks and of course like also learning on the on the side how to you know how to deal with your finances and all that is really important but um the mindset is is really important as well and we don't know what we don't know and so i hope that this podcast episode was helpful for you in maybe identifying and pinpointing some places where you could get some clarity or maybe you realize something that you hadn't realized yet and you're like oh i know what i need to go shift um but yeah and i think just the moral of the story really is to continue to get clearer and clearer on who the version of you is that has what you want and then be that person like think feel act move and believe like that person and with practice and i think with practice over time you start to become that person and when you become that person you have what you you're living the life that you want. And that's a beautiful thing. It's a beautiful thing. And then it'll be on to the next thing. And that's, that's, it's, it's really incredible when you can make peace and accept with and accept the fact that there's always going to be more, there's always going to be another thing that you want. And as soon as you achieve or manifest the thing that you're wanting right now, you're going to want something else. And that is beautiful. It's incredible. And it's a part of the human experience that we came here to just create and evolve and but when you when you can accept that though and stop judging yourself or criticizing yourself or wanting more you can make peace with what is and just finally enjoy the process of moving toward more and so i hope that you have a beautiful rest of your week pour a little extra love into yourself um I think that right now more than ever the world needs more love love for each other acceptance for each other and you know the last thing we need is just people running around spreading judgment hate blame criticism like that's not what the world needs right now we need more love okay so that starts with you that starts with giving yourself grace and forgiveness for your mistakes and loving yourself and then pouring love into the people around you. It has a butterfly effect beyond what we even realize. And I think today when I met up with all my Minecraft people in person, one of the things that I realized was just that, just like the butterfly effect that we're having on people that we don't even realize. Like I heard a story about one of my students in Minecraft helping a young girl with something that she'd been struggling with for a year and a half. the hospitals gave up on her and she was able to help her with something that she learned in Minecraft and we don't even realize the positive effect and the ripple effect that we have on others when we spread love and we focus on doing good in the world so continue to focus on doing good for yourself bettering yourself and then doing and bettering and then when your cup is full and you have the energy pouring that into other people and then allowing that to have a positive ripple effect in the world. I think that's how we can start to make the world a better place. And I know that that's all that's if you're here listening, like that's definitely one of your goals as it is mine. So and so yeah, I just wanted to take a moment to say that. And one of my things that I like to do just kind of an extra bonus little tip is I like to I like to whenever I'm in a public place, I like to just send beams of love through my eyes at random strangers. And And I'll just, especially at the gym, I'll just, you might be at the gym. And if you're ever at the same gym as me, you'd be like, don't be looking at me. But really what I'm doing is I will stare at random strangers and I will just like send beams of love out of my eyes at random people and never fails to make me cry. Like I'm always end up teary eyed just because in order to send love out to others, you have to be focused on the emotion of love. and it is absolutely true that what you put out into the world is what you give back and you know in order to send love your brain has to be simulating the feeling of love and it's really intense whenever you do this practice and so I highly encourage you to do it every time I do it it's a positive experience and so when you're out in public just look around at random strangers and just you know send beams of love at them it's a great practice if you are interested in coaching with me in Minecraft or just getting on a free live class come to my free live master class currently I'm actually talking about identity shifting that's what my most recent classes have been on I change up my live classes all the time it's they're based on whatever I feel called to teach about so definitely if you've been to one of my classes before I would come again because I do change them and I plan on changing by the time this episode comes out it might not be on identity shifting anymore. It might be on something new, but come to my live class. They're really fun. And at the end of the class, we always just sit and I'm just kind of like chit chatting with everybody and I do a Q&A at the end and it's always really fun. And I always spend a ton of time extra just answering questions. By the time Q&A rolls around, there's a lot less people and it's just a lot of fun. So come to my free live class. It's amazing. And then if you are interested in Minecraft and coaching with me. I talk about that at the very end of my free classes. So come by, get a vibe. If anything, just come catch a vibe. They're really fun. And I'll see you in the next episode. Until then, I'm sending you so much love. Have a great week.
