There was a woman, she was an older lady, I think 50s or 60s, and she said that every morning driving to work, she would pass by this kind of exit ramp to get on the interstate. And there's a homeless person with a sign, just you know, however you can help, would be appreciated. And one of those things where you, you know, you pass someone like that and don't really think anything of it. You have like a two second guilty feeling and then you go on with your day. But she said that one morning she felt really led to just a couple bucks, maybe even some food or something. So she said that she stopped, she pulled over to give this person some money. And then she said the moment she stopped her car, this homeless person stood up and came directly to the car and looked in when they locked eyes, like the woman was going to say, you know, here's some money or whatever, said that this person's eyes were completely black. The history of our earth is so different from what we can imagine. The Smithsonian, and if they found out about large skeletons somewhere, was to go get it. I'm going to assume at least one person is right, because if one person's right it must be the pirate. It all goes back to the fallen chair. And the problem with the modern day church, they have a very truncated view of the supernatural. This backdrop is just pregnant with all kinds of meaning associated with this Mount Hermon event. And this guy defects from the kingdom. That's a big deal. Alright, welcome back to Blurred Creatures. Today we're going to talk about the black-eyed children. We got Barry coming on and there's still a lot of investigation on this. And it's a weird phenomenon. Yeah, it's a super wheel. It kind of fits in. It hides in the corners of the paranormal spaces. It's really kind of unexplainable. We had one episode we've done where we had a guy that had an encounter. Barry wrote pieces and did some research on this. He also has a fascinating testimony from St. Paralysis to being held down to hitchhiking entities following him home. And he's got a wild story and testimony that he's really sharing for the first time anywhere in sort of a media space. And so this is super cool. And then we found Barry because Barry submitted his story through our website. And that's how we ended up finding a lot of our members' content. You've got a unique story that you don't like anyone's heard. Or you've never heard anyone share about. Or it just lives in sort of the outer realms of weird. Come on down. Come on down to water's warm. Come on over. Come on over. And Nidia will hit you back and say we'd love to have you on the show. That's right. BlurryCreatures.com. Go check that out. And if you want to listen to episodes like this, same place. BlurryCreatures.com. You've got an entire back catalog of wild stories, extra episodes from guests that you know. And from people that have really walked in the footsteps of the weird and lived to tell a tale. And we're excited because we're also introducing an app that's going to be out for members where we can comment, log in, get extra bonus material, but also like a community that lives right on your phone with the extra episodes. Maybe I'll share my own black-eyed children's story when I punched a guy at church as a kid. But that is... Sounds very... Church Jesus of Unique. Just flipping tables and punching guys in church. The only time I ever gave anyone a black eye was because someone tried to dog pile on me behind the church football game. Maybe I'll tell that story in the members area. Yeah, you don't pile on the kicker slash guard. Just leave him alone. Yeah. This is a fun one because we dive into some of the weird and interesting topics in the Paragromal space. Supernatural space. So let's get Barry on the show. And again, check this out as a member. If you're not a member of BlurryCreatures.com slash members, join us there. Let's get Barry on the show. Welcome to the show, Barry. Tell us a little about yourself. I'm Barry and I'm a writer. And I once tried to start my career by doing what I was calling Paranormal Journalism. Back when like the ghost hunting shows and everything were just kicking off and getting really popular. What was that? 25 years? 20, 25 years ago. And I'm still writing different stuff now, mainly because that was one of the things I had to late the feet of Jesus once I gave my life to him. And that's where I am now. Yeah. It reminds me of a youth group when you go and you had to say one thing interesting about yourself. Remember that, Luke? There was two truths and a lie. That was a fun game. Yeah. It's great to have you. I think welcome to BlurryCreatures. You reached out to us with your stories. You've got a grab bag of really interesting paranormal stuff. Everything from sleep paralysis. And then you've written pieces for UFO Digest on Black Eyed Kids. We'll get into that a little bit. But of course, if you listen to the show at all, we want to start and ask you just as we ask everyone. Barry, what are your thoughts on Bigfoot? Man, I really, really want to believe that at some point when the argument was, hey, where are the remains at? If there's Bigfoot out there, where are the remains? Oh, well, he's interdimensional. I kind of checked out after that. Now, I say that also admitting I'm a little bit of a hypocrite because I am obsessed with the Yeti. I know potato, potato, but not so much on Bigfoot, not anymore. Oh, interesting. Yeah, we were talking pre-roll. We just actually, we posted something this week, which I think was really cool. We have a friend whose wife is a Blackfoot tribe and their reservation is up in Alberta, near Alberta, Canada, south of Alberta. And her cousin was actually out and found a whole line of tracks in the snow. And this is always the thing that's really hard to explain when it comes to this phenomenon. There is a large, reportedly a large creature out there that leaves footprints and walks around. Snow is just walking around the middle of nowhere. But as you said, Barry, it's harder because where are the bones? It's like this, the whole Smithsonian thing. We talk about giants, but the bodies are, where are they? And I guess that's the, until someone halls went out of the woods, we're not going to have a real answer. But it's awfully strange that people have found hair samples. Ken Walker says he's got scat and poop in his freezer. But I don't know, it's one of the enduring mysteries. More people seem to encounter or have run-ins with this creature than anything else. If I lived in the Himalayas or wherever, I would probably, it would probably be flipped. I wouldn't believe in Yeti, but Bigfoot probably would. Yeah, you'd be like with Bigfoot sounds. Yeah, it's up there in Washington State. There's a lot of mysteries these days, Barry. I mean, I suppose there's a hairy guy that has a daycare up in the north. And the kids, there's no evidence that that's actually true. But we don't know, you know? There's, I guess we've devoted our lives on covering the weird and the mysteries. And so it's like when you have 10,000 hours listening to random people talk about Bigfoot, it's hard not to believe. Yeah. Give it after the years of the stuff we've heard. And it does get weird though. I get it. There's like 50% of the stories are more in the animal realm and then it gets odd. And that does do something for the mind in terms of belief. But welcome to the show. Thank you. Let's hear your story. Where does it start and what do you think our listeners will glean most from what you've ventured? Yeah, well, and you guys just cut me off whenever you want to interject. But I know that you were mostly interested in the black-eyed kids stuff. And the weird way that I am sort of linked to that phenomenon is like I said earlier, I am probably about 2003 or so. I really started to get interested in becoming what I was referring to as a paranormal journalist. And this was back when like blogs were still a thing and, you know, you were updating forums several times a day. I was going to college for writing and I've always been fascinated with ghosts and at one point in my life, even like the idea of like demons and angels, UFOs, things like that. You know, you would watch these shows on like the sci-fi channel about these, you know, paranormal events. And I want it to be one of those people that they interviewed, you know. And so I started working towards it and just kind of sent resumes out. I got a couple of hits for online websites and one of them was The Digest. And honestly, I revisited that site a couple weeks ago just to kind of get ready for this and don't. Don't. But they said, you know, what are some things that you're pretty well versed on? And so, you know, I pitched some ideas on UFOs, particularly the Phoenix lights. Because to me, that's one of the UFO sightings to me that I don't know how people can say that there's nothing going on. But anyway, one of the things that I pitched to them was this thing called Black Eyed Kids. And at that time, 2003 or so, it really wasn't that big of a thing. There's another journalist, Brian Bethel, that had written about it. And I think that's like the flagship story still. And so I just, you know, I read everything I could on forums and, you know, everything that Bethel had written about it. And I wrote this article and just kind of broke it down like, hey, if Black Eyed Kids are a thing and they are real, what might they be? And it was honestly, it was a very simple article. I didn't, you know, I didn't fuss and strain and spend hours upon hours trying to, you know, write it. It was pretty easy as a simple article. And at the end of it, at the end of the article, hey, if you've got your own Black Eyed Kids story, you know, send me an email. Let's talk about it. I was expecting, if anything, maybe a couple of emails about this. I think within three weeks after that story went live, I think I got about 250, 270 emails of people with stories about not just Black Eyed Kids, but like Encounter State had with just random people with that same kind of vibe where like the Black Eyes, the sudden paralyzing fear, asking to be invited into a car or home or a building or something. And so that's how that kind of blew up. And again, that's been 20-ish, 25 years ago. Again, if you want to listen to this episode and so many more, become a member, join the community here.
