•Apr 10, 20269 days agoSummary
Kara Berry recaps Welcome to Plathville's latest episode, focusing on Lydia's confrontation with her mother Kim about family gossip and communication failures, particularly regarding Lydia's wedding to Zach. The episode explores themes of family dysfunction, accountability, and tentative reconciliation, while also covering Ethan's emotional struggles post-divorce and Isaac's breakup with his girlfriend Katelyn.
Insights
- Family communication breakdowns often stem from unprocessed trauma; Lydia identifies that the family's inability to discuss a sibling's death has cascaded into avoidance of all difficult conversations
- Accountability requires action, not just words; Kim's verbal acceptance of Zach rings hollow without behavioral change, and Lydia must do emotional labor to bridge the gap her mother created
- Generational patterns of conflict avoidance and emotional suppression are being perpetuated; Ethan admits poor communication skills learned from parents are directly impacting his romantic relationships
- Social media amplifies family conflict; Kim's awareness of negative audience reaction to her behavior influences family dynamics and her defensiveness toward Lydia's criticism
- Children often bear disproportionate responsibility for parent-child reconciliation; Lydia works her mother's party and takes on emotional burden despite being the wronged party

The week has been a little bit up and down in terms of the weather. It's been a little bit cold. We had a dip for a few days, but the sun is out. It's getting warm. It's going to be in the 80s on Monday, which is a little too much. Let's just keep it cute, keep it in the 60s for a good couple more weeks before we even think about getting into the 70s. 83. What's going on? I'm asking on every level. Everywhere I look, what is going on? Anyway, let's talk about Welcome to Plathville. So we left off. Lydia and Zach are sitting in some outdoor furniture with the rest of the Plath family. Berry is looking pleased as punch because he is not really in this. He's just back up for his girl Lydia. And Ken is looking more and more pissed off because she's realizing Lydia is... Here's the thing with Ken. It's like the feelings don't matter. It's the action. She doesn't care that Lydia feels left out, isolated, alone, uncared for having to be parentified and care for her younger siblings and older siblings if they're boys. Just having to smile through it and like two, three, four, keep on the sunny side. She's constantly in their prayer closet and now she's a little bit of a woman. Her hips are coming in, the bass in her voice. So it's really never the fact that she feels bad about something. Ken doesn't give a fuck about that. It's having to be told that Ken did something that made somebody feel bad and women specifically and then having to somehow be accountable for that and have to say it aloud for everyone to hear. So obviously I'm loving these episodes. So we start off this week with Lydia telling them one more thing. The biggest thing that hurt us, me and Zach, was everything that was said about us and not to us. That could have been resolved had you guys brought any of this information to us directly. Kim gives a look that I have seen before. It's a look that she used to give Veronica and very much the look that she used to give Olivia. And now here she is giving it to Lydia, the third in line, blonde to defect from her bullshit and she don't like it. And did I not say at the end of last season like my predictions or my hopes and wishes. I manifested this maybe is that Lydia would actually put her little foot down and try to slay the dragon. And Kim's really going to have to have a tough time with this because it's her daughter. And there's really no... And also she already knows the audience reaction. And so she's coming off of this like Lydia is bolstered by her, but she's also bolstered by the fan response to this. And Kim's in those comments section. She lets that slip later in this episode. So the fact that Lydia tells all those people on those lawn chairs, if there's any other concerns you have, please come to us because if I find out that there's anything else that you guys are still gossiping about, I will not tolerate it. Oh, the sun is shining today in a new way. Kim glaring glaring because then Lydia says, you know, the situation with the wedding colors is one of those things that, you know, if I hear about it being talked behind my back, it's going to be an issue. Micah doesn't seem to know what she's even talking about. And then everybody else is like, huh, but then here's Kim like, I know this is about me. If she tells the camera, I hope this wasn't directed at me, but I guess I know it is. Then Kim says that the whole wedding color situation was a huge red flag for her. So she saw Zach wanted the wedding colors to be blue instead of Lydia's preference, which was Hunter Green, because he already had a blue suit. He wanted, you know, he thought he'd pop in it. And Kim's excuse for her talking behind Lydia's back is that she didn't feel the need to go ask Lydia whether or not that was actually true because someone she trusted told her who was it. Literally the only possibility for who could have told you this would have been one of your children, girl. Like please grow up. She can't even take accountability for a little gossip about wedding color preferences. Girl. So Lydia tells the family that she had a dress that she was going to wear that was forest green as part of the wedding ceremony. I guess, I mean, not her wedding dress, but she said that that dress had actually been purchased from another gentleman in her past. Thank you very much. And so once she realized that color or that dress was like tied to another dude, she was like, you know, I can't really integrate this into my wedding. And so, you know, yeah, I went with blue. And here comes Kim's little funky ass. Oh, well, at least she's admitting that originally the color was green. She doesn't have to admit anything to you with regard to her wedding plans. You weirdo. The color, like this is a big strain. Then she goes, the last time Lydia and I talked about it, she denies that it ever was. And she called me out on it on social media. So the post from Lydia says, my mom expressed her concerns that Zach was controlling and usurping my desires around the wedding. And that's a farthest thing from the truth. I was not set on a specific color for the wedding, but for, but I just thought that like green, blue and rose were colors that would look nice. Like I just threw those colors out there. Apparently through the gossip train, Kim tethered herself to the color Hunter Green and how it was cruelly stripped away from her from their homosexual fiance. Like imagine people knowing that this is why, well, not even why, one of the reasons why you and your daughter are not in a good way. And at this point, I can't even say that the whole, this was a quick relationship thing is even on the table for me as like any reason why these people should feel uncomfortable because I'm constantly reminded that both Zach and Lydia offered up, Hey, if you're afraid of not knowing this man, we will avail ourselves. We'll drive down to Florida. We'll hang out with you. Zach, I'll do one on one hangouts with the boys. Like, you know, maybe just don't be openly homophobic and giggling at a table. Like they did what they could in terms of trying to get the family to get to know Zach. They were not willing to do that. They often said many times last season, I don't want to, I'm not going to, and I'm never going to. And that was mostly even and Micah wasn't too far behind. And Kim. And now since then, y'all have not spoken in eight months. So you being like, oh, and now we accept you that you're married, you don't know him still. And I feel bad that Lydia feels like this is something that she even has to be accountable for and apologize for because, yeah, the attempts have been made. They don't G a f. And at the end of the day, that's really her business. Like, frankly, I could maybe see a point if you guys were a family of people that had any sort of assets, but beside like old junk vehicles that don't often make it onto the plane with which they're supposed to be transporting, like old cars that are not road ready boats that are actively resting and don't have working toilets. Like, what is he going to steal? What is he going to take from you guys? Y'all still have to work shifts at a restaurant. How many seasons are we out to show like what girl and truly nothing that they've done has pointed in the direction of them caring about her heart, or if her heart is broken at any point in the future, like they don't care about that. So you Kim saying that hurt. Okay. Well, girl. So then they ask Lydia, a producer asks her, why do you think your mom didn't respond to you when you mentioned the wedding colors? And she like tries to keep it cute. And she says, my mom, and I think, I think we're just like growing our relationship. And I don't think it looks like a specific thing that we, but like, we do need to spend more time together. So then Lydia gives everybody a little message. Gossip is one of the most toxic things that goes around in this world, and it's not okay. And it destroys. So if I find out that's still going on, and you guys aren't coming to us, it's not going to be okay. Now, Mariah says, I agree. You know, there's been a lot of times where people in the family aren't talking. And we're just working around other people's feelings and spreading things intentionally or unintentionally. And then it just eats at our relationships. And I don't want that anymore. So I just feel like, I don't know. It's been a long time since I've trusted Mariah with a feeling, but she does seem to be like, open. Where does she live, Montana? Maybe the air is like nicer up there. She's thinking a little bit more clearly. She's away from the family. And she's like, I'm seeing what kind of tumbleweed I've been in for quite some time. Looking on the outside, it's interesting. Yeah, the excuses continue with Kim, who says, I understand she doesn't like gossip, but she hasn't understand that there's a big family here. And we're going to get around together sometimes in little groups and ask things like, for example, like, Isaac, what do you think about peanut farming? Ethan, how do you feel about moving down from Minnesota? Those are normal questions, man. Finding ways to be homophobic towards your daughter's fiancee isn't like idle family chatter. You know what I mean? I don't know what can I do have a feeling of what Ken might be teaching you is okay and acceptable in terms of communication. And well, let's move on from that. Micah then calls out his parents for not being the best communicators at times. And I'm a little bit surprised to say that Barry very quickly is like, you know what, I'll do you better. Guess what? We actually weren't the best communicator a lot of times. Period. Period. Micah then says it's kind of a thing that we all need to work on. And then the camera pans over to Amber, our shining star. And then she tells the cameras on her own. I just think it's funny that Micah is the one who says we need to communicate better when he's like, and you can tell she was trying to think like, where does he live? She just had to say somewhere down in Florida. And none of us ever hear from him. I think that's funny too, Amber. I'm laughing. Micah then tries to make a joke about how like kind of like, there are so many people in this family. Sometimes I think we forget like, oh, did I say everything to that one person that I needed to say to? And everybody kind of laughs like, like, we're turning the corner. And so anything was just accomplished. It was not, y'all admitted. I mean, I guess admitting is the first step, right? Y'all, some of you, admitted that you do not have the proper skills to communicate as adults, individually, in any sort of relationship with each other, collectively. But what I noticed is, I'm like trying to think, did Ethan say anything about this? Don't you find it very interesting that we did not get any sort of perspective from Ethan that I can remember? And he was like behind, maybe instigator number one, you know, Kim and Micah being number two equally. We don't get any inside of him from him, like, oh, I feel bad. Anything to say to your sister or to Zach. Sorry for the all the homophobia, not even like a producer side conversation about like, you know, I just feel I find that very interesting. I feel like this is another glaring omission, like Kim's DUI. And honestly, it kind of makes me wonder if production thought last season that that was going to come off better than it did, like Ethan's behavior and Micah's behavior. I'm really curious, because they do really protect this family and they do not talk about a lot of things. So when they're doing things last season, like showing Ethan going into a rage and then having to do push-ups next to his pickup truck, next to like on some muddy land because he was so mad to have to do a wedding event and be around Zach. I really just wonder if they thought like, oh my gosh, like if they really thought the audience was so conservative that they would think like, oh, this is a compelling story and not just like blatant, you know, hatred. Because then later this episode, they like turned Ethan into like the sad boy of the season just working through his feelings of the breakup with Tien. And I don't remember the exact details of what was going around regarding the reason why they broke up. It certainly was not just him. I mean, you know, here's what I always say. Ethan is a liar and what you do with liars is you really have to like keep an ear open. And when they get backed into a corner in which they have to admit anything that they did a wrong doing in, which is most things, they'll like admit, eventually admit to something, but you never believe the first admission of a known liar because they'll just put something that's like, okay, I am willing to take accountability for this much. And so I'll admit to that and just hope that you don't see that there's like a whole bunch of other bullshit in my arsenal. It's like a personal plea deal. Like I'm willing to admit to a minor charge of not committing to moving to Indiana, even though Tegan wanted me to and needed me to to move forward in our relationship when really it's like some actually like not good stuff. So I'm going to keep my eye on that because I think that's really interesting. Like I maybe I'm a little too tin foily, but I'm wondering if Mike Assault or excuse me, even saw how he came off and was like, we're not doing this again. And they were like, okay, we'll do something, we'll pivot. Anyway, Lydia then really opens up her psychology hat. And she says to us, I feel like ever since the passing of my brother, we just completely shut down as a family. It was such a tragic experience. And my mom especially like did not want to talk about it, because it was too heavy for her. And if you can't talk about that, then like it ends up snowballing into you not being able to communicate about anything that's deep. So after this, Micah then asks, how about we go around and like pass the duchy to the left hand side, look at the person to our left and say like, what you're terrible at. And I'm like, well, let's get it popping. Okay. Everybody was down. I'm like, oh, if you guys are down, I'm died. Certainly want to hear what everyone has to say about the other. Let's get into it. Unfortunately, they didn't go as deep as I would have preferred. Like if they all really want to get into it, you can just listen to any of my recaps. I'll let you know. I'll let you know as thoroughly as possible. But Amber turns to Mariah and tells her she's a dirty bitch. Okay, she didn't say that specifically. She said, you never clean your room. My interpretation. Sorry, Amber, you are. You are 16. Let me just use your exact words. Lydia tells her mama, Kim, you have a lot of great ideas. You really just need to be better at pairing them down and also sticking to them. Barry then tells Zach, I'm really going to need you to stop saying, let's go like so much, please. Thank you. Thank you for that, Barry. And I rarely get to say that. So take it. Take it and run. Run fast before I take it back. Then like it tells Ethan, you're one of the hardest working people I know. But I need you to like grow up a little bit sometimes. Like, well, Kara, I think you need to grow up a lot in every possible way, Ethan. Just do the whole thing. Just do the complete package. So then they just like break it up, you know, like, all right, Kim says, I want to see all of you guys on the tire swing, you know, two, three, four. Keep on the sunny side. Always on the sunny side. But then Zach tells us when Kim says, since you said I do, we've accepted you into the family and we don't have any concerns anymore. I just think actions really speak louder than words. So I hope that now she said that it actually turns into action. After this, we have a very special scene. Ethan takes Mariah and Amber to the beauty supply store in Tallahassee because Mariah wants to go shopping for wigs. She says, you know, I have plenty of wigs, I just kind of want to load them up. I, you know, I want to have as many wigs as I have outfits as you know. You know, my petty ass immediately was like, you know, about 17 clips loaded in my mind chamber about her outfits. But I'm not, we're not here for that now. Okay, we're all going to have to grow up a little bit and we're going to move on. Ethan seems so uncomfortable, red, doesn't want to say anything the whole time they're in that beauty supply. I don't know if it's because a lot of these wigs are more tailored to an African American clientele and he don't want to say that. I don't know what the hell's going on with him. Maybe he's just like truly jumbled up and stuck in those emotions. Like he's congested emotionally. But Mariah says that she had this moment where, you know, basically she kind of like walks us through the timeline of her acceptance and the realization of her, alakisha and like how it's kind of gone out. And like she was totally bought as a child when it first, when she first got diagnosed with it and then hair came back and then it started like slowly coming out. Seems like sort of in tandem with the show seems like the longer the show's gone on, you know, I don't they often say that alakisha and things like that can be stress induced. I'm really wondering. However, she talks about like the hair started getting patchier and patchier. And one day she tells Kim she just wants to shave it off. And on top of that she wants Ethan to shave her head for her. And it was turned into this like beautiful moment. And you could tell that Ethan really did have this acknowledgement. And you know, I couldn't help but think that Mariah did say that growing up Ethan was kind of like the main one who was mean to her about her hair loss. And you know, he was a kid. We know that even now Ethan has a real problem not talking about things that he is not comfortable with or he's not like used to or is like not normal in his mind. He's a real mention adult having girly with that. Unfortunately, but I'm happy that like as adults, they were able to have this moment where she really trusted him with this and that he like says multiple times like I can't even imagine as a woman how you might be feeling inside to not have control over something, you know, like he didn't really get this eloquent. But like, you know, we attach our hair to our femininity, many of us, and to not like be able to even have hair or make decisions on your hair has to be so so such an adjustment such an emotional thing do you have to go through so yeah, like I'm happy that they really had this like true moment of sibling connection that they'll always be able to have like this is rare for the whole family. And obviously, like, I feel a whole lot of empathy for Mariah, but she really does seem like she's grown up a little bit. God bless her. So then Mariah finds a wig that she likes and she's going to try it on. And then she takes her wig off for the first time on camera. She said she's never really done that. I have to say, hey, she looks incredible bald like the face card was not declining. We have no lumps, no bumps, no weird things going on with her skull like she looked beautiful. So after this, Ken and Kim, have a party. She has friends host a party at the restaurant she works at to celebrate her new chapter in life Kim's new chapter in life. Kim's new chapter in life is what you finally waited your divorce out. And now you're back with the man that you probably were always with this whole time that you pretended you broke up with. And now you're in your former marital home with this man and his little clan outfits and the motorcycle that he put in the picture window of your home. Okay, Kim says she's been living in five different places in the last four years until she was able to move back to the farm and she is never moving again. Now here's the thing, part of this is obviously just for the show because Lydia also works at this restaurant, but she's working a shift. She lets us know that she decided to specifically work this party. And it's just really sad to watch Lydia have to get herself over her mama's bullshit and then decide to be in service to her as a means to reconnect and reconcile their relationship. Y'all know how deeply annoying I find it when their child has to do all the effort and put all the effort into making their relationship with their parent work, especially when it's Kim and we know she's on some bullshit and Lydia truly has done nothing to her. In anything, she's lived a life of subservience until the moment you decided my pussy's gonna pop for Ken, not your daddy anymore. And she was like, hey, I don't really love the way you're going about this. And y'all's relationship has not been the same since. And let me tell you one thing, if I were Lydia and I found out that your rhetoric now was you're basically resentful of Barry because you feel like she just like, he is just stuck up Lydia's ass and just wants to like kiss, I don't know, like kiss the ring and like be a fan girl when the reality is like, maybe he's maybe he's not a perfect parent, but at least to Lydia, he was there and he listened to her. And he was willing to be supportive of her and her life's choices. She can't say the same of you. So you can be mad all you want. But eventually, I feel like if Kim continues down this track and she likely will, she's going to make Lydia choose and it's not going to be you girl. And to a degree, I can understand why Kim has as being the primary parent who was present, the present parent, I mean, I won't say that she was the primary parent, I think Lydia probably was, but she is, you know, said throughout the divorce. I was the one who was around raising these kids or, you know, I was there. And you weren't, Barry. So I can understand from like a divorced now single mother perspective that most moms would probably feel this frustration of like, Oh, it's all fun at daddy's house once a week. And I have to be the active parent and you know, they get all the fun, they get all the love, but like, sorry, that isn't Lydia's fault. Anyway, Kim and Ken get there and they're, you know, in the entrance by the host's stand, Lydia's being light and bright, like, Hey, mom, nice to see you. And Kim, like, barely makes eye contact with her. Lydia's like, It's a great place to have a party, right? And then they just both do that thing where you're kind of looking at everything in the space that you're in and not each other. And so finally, Lydia's like, Okay, well, there's somebody over here. I think they need something. Bye. Lydia tells us the meeting with the family went really well. Obviously, there's a, you know, a lot of growth needed, especially between her and her mom. So she wanted to be the server tonight to show her support and to show her she's not going anywhere. Ah, so sad. I get bored. Kim's yapping. One of her friends, Alan or something, doesn't matter, says we should do a little roast of Kim. Now, Kim gets nervous immediately. She's like, I don't know if I would really like what people say. I don't know if Kim, you can't roast everybody. You know, Kim, Kim would not be top of the roast list for me. Well, let me correct myself. She is top of the roast list for me. But like, if I was a personal friend to her, I wouldn't do this. Anyway, her friend, Lenny goes first. And it's just very like not roasty, like love you, girl. You're so beautiful. Strong woman. But then she's like, Hey, I got one more thing and she goes behind this little thing that comes back with a bottle of wine. She goes, Look, I got you a full bottle. Which thank you Lenny for that reminder of the greatest moment in Welcome to Plathville history in the finale of last season where Ken and no, Kim and Barry meet up for a little, Hey, we're divorced. Let's like maybe get along or so Kim thinks. And then she forces him to go to some wine bottle shop. And it's like, are you gonna buy me a bottle of wine? Did you get me a glass or a bottle, Barry? You got me the bottle? Okay. Did you make sure that they corked it so that I could take it home with me or, you know, for a ride? And he's like, Yeah, I did. Okay, I'm gonna leave by see you never. And then she's skipping over to the the bar like, Oh, excuse me, I would like the rest of my bottle of wine, please. And they're like, he didn't buy you one. Gotcha. But then my world comes crashing now because what does Kim say? I could definitely say that Barry was a little dry. And now my cup overflows. I am so sorry to have to tell you that. Yuck. And then Ethan shows up as a like, Hey, surprise, Kim was so happy. Did not give any 10th of that energy towards Lydia when she walked in. Even why didn't you just walk in through the entrance and then to the back patio where they are? Why did you have to hop over the fence, sir? It's one thing about Ethan. But then he says, you know, there's a thousand things that I could gross. But I want to be able to come back to the farm. And I know that that was absolute truth for him. I really could get into you, girl. But I guess I don't really have a choice. I need someplace to crash. So then he says, my mom's probably the only mother in the state of Georgia that has more ATVs and children. And she's got 10 kids. And then she says, and she's also got probably more ideas than anybody in this room. But she never follows through with them. And then Lydia says in a confessional, preach it, brother. Lydia goes last. And she tells everybody, it's so great to see everyone so joyful and to see my mom so happy too. And I know that there have been a lot of ups and downs over the years, like with you and I. And I just want to say, I'm also ready to start a new chapter and start fresh and move forward. And you know, as soon as Kim heard that, she like, oh, I don't have to be responsible for anything that I've done. Oh, honey. Oh, and they're like hugging. Got her again. Then Lydia says, I'm glad I did this. And I think I realized that when mom and Kim first started dating, I thought it was like a little too quick and sudden and I couldn't understand it. And I vocalized that to her. But at the same time, I wanted my mom to express that she accepts Zach. But I'm realizing I haven't really done that with Kim. As her daughter, it's just so easy to see her flaws and not be able to see her. But hearing what her friends think about her and how they see her, it kind of helps me see that in her too. Well, here we go. Once again, Lydia taking far more responsibility than she needs to or than anybody deserves. A shame, a real shame, really. After this, we head over to Austin's house. And all of you are wondering, who the hell is Austin? Austin is Ethan's friend. Austin's quite the yapper. These two are like two little peas in a pod. Austin does all the talking and Ethan just stands there with his face getting more and more red. But they've known each other for a while. Like since before Ethan moved to Minnesota, but really started hanging out again, like every Friday for the past couple of months since Ethan's been back in Georgia. So they, you know, throw a noodling on their little guitars and talking about the songs that they've written and here goes Ethan with his little chain gang cadence. You know, it's always something long, windy road and a woman that I hate and she broke my heart even though it was all my fault. Olivia. Your time is valuable. Your perspective should be too. We're currently sponsored by HBO Max, where you can stream the new third season of HBO Original Euphoria from the 13th of April. The first two seasons changed everything when they dropped. It started so many trends across fashion, music, makeup, and the memes. It honestly took over. Everyone was talking about it. Season three will surely have the same effect. It set five years on from where season two left the characters at high school, and now they're navigating adulthood and their 20s out in the big bad world. Season three of Euphoria launches on the 13th of April. You can also catch up on season one and two, streaming now only on HBO Max. So of course Austin's like, what's this song about? And he's like, well, it has to do with my divorce with Olivia or when Olivia left, as he says. Ethan does say, I'm very shocked. Considering the wormholes, I know Ethan goes down with regard to his feelings about men and women and, you know, being in power and white power and those sorts of things. For him to admit that one depression is a real thing, because I did watch a whole Manosphere documentary on Netflix. And two of these boys were like, I mean, this is truly, like hold on to your seat, y'all. They interviewed two guys. Louis Thoreau does the documentary. He interviews one of these guys, one of the like the big head honchos in the whole Manosphere community, if you can call it that. While they're on the street talking to like young dudes come up and they're like, oh my God, we love you. We love Andrew Tate. And so it turns into a little side quest for Louis, where he interviews them like, I want to get inside the mind of the people who actually slap up this bullshit and are fans of these men. And then at one point, these two poor boys just like talk about how much of victims they are of this whole thing, just as much as we all are. They're like talking about how, you know, they these guys teach us how to believe and how to be real men and how to be responsible for yourself. And, and, and, you know, like it's all on you. And then one of them admits he was like very like he moved down to Florida to make his dreams come true and very quickly had, you know, to sleep in his car. And then he the same boy says that he, trigger warning for suicide, says that he does not believe in depression. Like he does not believe in as a concept. And then he says something along the lines like, I made that decision after my brother died. And then he asks, how did your brother die? He killed himself, but that's not the point. Oh my God. Help us all. So thank God, Ethan has at least not gone into that corner of the internet. And he says, I've suffered from depression. And, you know, then he kind of talks about the power of music and how it has helped him. But also it can hurt him sometimes. And sometimes music can be very painful. So Austin asks, Ethan, is anything on your mind, buddy? But then Austin lets us know, like, he knows this man. Ethan's got his faces. So I know which mood he's in, because he doesn't talk. What's going on behind that very red face of his. When Ethan's mad, he does this. Or when he's happy, he does like a slightly less than the mad thing. When he's filled some other type of way, he's rubbing away at that mustache, like I got him all down. So then Austin asks, Ethan, have you written anything new lately? And Ethan says, yeah, I wrote a new song about Teagan, but I don't really know if I want to perform it. And Austin's like, do you still have feelings for Teagan? Yeah, I guess I do. But Ethan says, I think my mom, my dad, all of my siblings did not really learn to communicate very well. Not just like communicating how you feel like actual communication, like none of it. And it's definitely not helped me in my personal life. And I've had to learn that the hard way, but it's okay, I'm still working on it. I don't really want him to talk about Olivia ever again, but I also would like to know if there's any growth with regard to that and his personal responsibility and their divorce, or is this all about Teagan? Really makes me wonder. Austin gives Ethan some advice about how when he was dating somebody and they broke up, he thought that was going to be it for me. That was going to be my one and only, but it wasn't. And I really miss that person. But you know, as time goes by, you kind of have to figure out how to live without them. And once you figure that out, like it's easier, which makes me feel like Ethan's probably been stewing about this for a long time. And Austin's probably trying to gently guide him towards like, let it go girl. Ethan then says it gets to a point where like, you have to do something or you go crazy. And Austin says, you don't know, Teagan might feel the same way, but maybe this time in life, y'all weren't right for each other. Maybe it comes back. If you don't, you know, it's not meant to be. And then he says, Austin says, and that's something as men, we need to be okay with. Austin, thank you, sir. Ethan then walks us through how he misses doing things with Teagan, like stuff and making memories together. That's it. He does say, she was my best friend. So not being able to talk to your best friend. And then, you know, you're thinking about how quickly time passes every day and every minute you can't get back. Austin tells Ethan, maybe try to find a good circle of people around you. And then Ethan admits, I mean, not that he needs to, that he has the tendency to just turtle up, lock himself away. He doesn't talk to anybody. He gets real anti social. So at the end of the episode, we're told that Isaac planned this corn maze outing hangout. Isaac and his girlfriend, Katelyn, and then Mariah and Ethan were going to come. Mariah shows up first, which is a very rare thing. She doesn't want to be there. She's like, I am getting adrenaline. I'm scared. I can't do this. But then Katelyn shows up. They're hanging out for a bit. Mariah says she loves Katelyn, throws a little shade of Olivia. Oh, she's so sweet and adorable. She's such a great presence. I've never seen one red flag from her. Then Katelyn lets us know that at this point, she and Isaac have been together for about a year. Things have been pretty good. But in the past few weeks, the communication part has gone downhill a bit. She doesn't really know what's going on. So then Ethan shows up. Isaac then shows up and he's like feeling some type of way. Now, again, they said that Isaac was the one who set this up, but he's like huffing and puffing. I don't want to be here. I just spent all day working in the fields. Now I got to go into another field. And Mariah's like, yeah, maybe everybody's just tired. So they decided to go through the corn maze. And Katelyn keeps getting left in the back. Isaac's not paying her any attention. Isaac and Ethan tend to do and Micah when they're all together. It's like boys time and what's a girl? It's like the He-Man-Women's Haters Club. So Isaac's just being like, you know, I just worked 14 hours peanut farming. I've had a lot on my mind lately. And I guess I just rather not be here. And I should have just gone home and go to bed. That would have been a better thing. But Katelyn was here. She wanted me to come. So Katelyn's like, I keep getting left in the back. I know something's up, but honestly, I can't put my finger on it. Some Elmer, I ends up getting lost. And by that, I mean, she sees the group walking away, just freezes and is like, hey, guys, and then just goes in the opposite direction, even though she saw where they went. And eventually she finds them. And then when they're done, they're like out of the corn maze. Isaac's like, Katelyn, could you come in the truck with me? And can you take your microphone off when they get in there? So then we just get a black screen of death that says Isaac and Katelyn spoke privately in his truck. Shortly after, Isaac broke up with her. Oh no. I mean, no shade to Katelyn. She does seem like a lovely girl, but like he's 20. I wasn't like tethering myself to this being end game for them. So sands of time, you know, such as life. Anyway, we'll find out what happened next week, y'all. Thank you guys so much for listening. Thank me for speaking. Love you. Bye.
