Summary

This episode teaches children and families how testing ideas builds confidence and leadership skills. Hosts Destiny and Daniel use the story of Leo the Legacy Lion and Lily to demonstrate that entrepreneurs succeed by choosing one idea to test in a small way, learning from results rather than seeking perfection, and understanding that failed tests provide valuable information for growth.

Insights
  • Testing ideas in small, manageable ways is more valuable than endless planning or waiting for perfection
  • Confidence in leadership grows through taking one brave step at a time, not through knowing everything upfront
  • Failed tests are not failures but learning opportunities that teach what to keep and what to change
  • Young entrepreneurs should focus on helping someone in a small way rather than getting rich overnight
  • Writing down or documenting what you learn from testing ideas helps you remember and apply lessons next time

I feel too old to change us. You can do anything! We all have a God given dust and eat. Never let negative thoughts or people tell you you can't be great. Because you will feel fully and wonderfully made. There's greatness inside all of us. But greatness doesn't happen. It takes boldness, courage and leadership. Welcome to the Art of Mineral Kids Legacy Show where we think big, big, broadly, and make amazing things happen. I'm Destiny. I'm Daniel. We challenge you to step into your future, take action, and create a legacy that lasts. Let's go! Hello, hello, my brave testers and curious creators. Welcome back to the Art of Mineral Kids Legacy Show. Where ideas don't have to be perfect. Trying is part of learning. And courageous children build strong futures with their families. And I'm your business buddy Daniel here. And I'm Destiny. Sweet darling princess, idea in chorizo. You can do this. And your official try and count reminder. That's right, Destiny. Trying does count. And around here we call our listeners something special. Do you remember what that is, friends? That's right. Do you remember? Do you remember, friends? You are a legacy, little family. Because every great little star somewhere. Not by knowing everything. Not by getting it perfect every time. But by being willing to notice. Imagine and now try. And that means something very important. You can be the hero of your story. Your ideas matter. Your chords matter too. And we are so excited that you are building your legacy. Alright, legacy leaders. When we say legacy leaders, you say let's build. Legacy leaders. Okay, say it with us. Let's build. Legacy leaders. 3, 2, 1, let's build. Perfect. Now we know you're ready. Friends, in our last episode we went to the Idea Lab. And we learned that entrepreneurs do three important things. First, they observe. Then they imagine. And Destiny, what was step three? Testing. That's right. And last time we said not yet. Testing is for the next episode. Well, guess what friends? This is the next episode. Today we're talking about how to test one idea in a small, brave, courageous way. Quick question friends. Have you ever had an idea that you liked? But then thought, hmm, what if it doesn't work? What if I mess it up? What if I choose wrong one? If you ever felt that way, you're not behind. You're not bad at business. You are actually thinking like a real entrepreneur. Because testing means you care enough to try. Legacy leaders, here's the big idea. You don't have to choose the best idea. Or the most perfect idea. You just need to choose one idea to try. That's how entrepreneurs learn. They're not guessing forever, or waiting forever, or trying to be perfect. Trying teaches you things that just thinking or imagining cannot. That's right. Oh Daniel, is it time for the story of the day? Absolutely little sister. Buckle in everyone. Start up the time machine destiny. It's time to rewind the clock. Hold on tight, legacy leaders. Three, two, one. Wow Daniel, look where we are. This place is incredible. Look around, it's a beautiful hill. It really is. Look, it's so bright. Everything feels full of energy and full of possibilities. It seems like we landed somewhere. Well, very special. That's because today's story happens in a place where brave ideas turn into action. Somewhere very exciting. The place where ideas take their first brave step. Oh Daniel, look over there. What is it? It's a notebook and a journal. They have notes and pixels all over them. What does it say Daniel? Of course I can read, but I like you to read too. It says Leo. Leo the Legacy Lion's Idea Notebook. Oh, and the other one says Lily's Journal. Oh, Leo and Lily must have been brainstorming again here. Wow, look at these colorful drawings from Lily. Looks like they've been testing, not just brainstorming. That makes sense. Lily draws the ideas she imagines. And Leo writes down the ideas he notices. Daniel, look, Leo's notebook looks full of new ideas. What I mean by full? It's like full. It looks like it almost doesn't have any room. And Lily drew these new pixels in her journal. They look amazing. Let's see what they were walking on. Here's one. Morning Helper Basket. It says, let's help make mornings easier for moms and families. Oh, and Lily drew a picture of colorful socks, a special lunchbox, and a few backpacks all ready for class. That's a great idea. It can help families have calmer mornings. Oh, look, there's another one. Healthy snack packs. Oh, and Lily drew apples, nuts, and special little containers all packed and ready. That would make lunch easier and healthier too. Oh, and this one's fun. Talent practice time. Oh, and Lily drew kids practicing soccer, reading, art, and music. Steve friends, none of these ideas started as businesses yet. They started as ideas in a notebook. And today, Leo and Lily were doing something very important. They were testing ideas to see what happens. Legacy leaders, sometimes the biggest ideas in the world began as a small note or drawing in a notebook. That's how brave builders begin. They notice, they imagine, and then they try. And today, friends, we're going to be learning how you can test one small idea too. Imagine this. You're standing in front of a table, and on the table are three idea cards. One says, help organize. Another says, make healthy snack packs. And another says, create something helpful, beautiful, or kind. You look at the cards and wonder which one is best. And guess what? You don't have to know yet. You just need to choose one. Not forever, not perfectly, but just for now. And then, here comes my favorite part. You try it. It's risky, but it's worth your while. Try it. You do it. You test it. That's right. And testing means asking simple questions. Like, will this help someone? Will anyone want this? How does it feel to use this? What worked? What should I change next time? Oh, and let's do some research. Let's ask some of our friends and families about this idea. Will it taste delicious? The questions are endless, but you ask them. Because that's how you test it. Upside down, inside out, and all around. Yep, bidee-deep-dee. It's so much fun. It might help one person. It might help 50 people. It might help a lot of people. It might help a million. You might learn, oh, this part really worked well. Or, hmm, this part needs some fixing. Here's something very important, legacy leaders. A test that doesn't do well is not a failure. Every test gives you information. It teaches you what to keep and what to change. That means if something didn't go exactly the way you hoped, you still learned something valuable. And learning is part of building. And that's your golden nuggets. Oh, Daniel, do you think Leo and Lily love testing ideas? I know they love brainstorming, but what do you think, Dan? You're? Oh, no, I got some hiccups. I think they definitely do. I can just picture Leo the legacy lion, writing in his notebook. And he says, today I tried one idea, and it went like this. And I imagine Lily drawing a picture of what happened. What worked, what was funny, and what she wants to do differently next time. And those are smart things to do, because writing and writing after you try something helps you remember what you learned. Exactly. That's how young leaders grow. They notice, they imagine, they try, and then they learn. Now remember, friends, a first mini business could be small, courageous, simple, even short-term, but always pan-approved. Because there's a good chance they're going to be our biggest supporters. And remember this, the goal of your first mini business is not to become rich overnight. The goal is to learn what it feels like to take one courageous step. And besides that, help someone in a small way. That's how confident leaders grow. One small brave courageous step at a time. Oh wow, I really love today's story, Daniel. Me too, because it shows us something really important about how confidence grows. So, what did we learn today, friends? May I go first? Sure, absolutely. Ladies first. Today we learned that you don't have to choose the perfect idea. You just have to choose one idea to try. That's right, today we learned you don't have to know everything before you begin. You just choose one idea and try. Trying teaches you things that guessing never can. And even when something didn't go out the way you hoped, you didn't fail, you learned. Okay friends, let's pause for a moment. You can say this out loud or whisper it or just think quietly in your heart. Think of one idea you had before. Something helpful, something kind, something creative. Now say this with us. Together, I might feel nervous, but I have the courage to try anyway. Now your turn. I might feel nervous, but I have the courage to try anyway. Now say this together. I can learn as I go. I can learn as I go. And then say this one nice and strong. Trying helps me grow. One, two, three. Trying helps me grow. Great job you guys. That's how confident leaders think. Yepity depe dee doop depe. Do you know what time it is friends? It's time for the legacy. Lightning Fun Facts Round. Da na na na. Da na na na na. Da na na na. Lightning Fun Facts Round Lightning Fun Facts Round Lightning Fun Facts Round Lightning Fun Facts Round Think carefully and when you know it, don't be shy, shout it out. Here's the question. What is the goal of your first mini business? A, making a lot of money instantly. Choo choo choo choo choo choo choo choo choo choo choo choo choo. B, learning what works and what doesn't. C, being the best at everything about your business right away. Oh yay, you're so awesome. You're the best. Or could it be D, making enough money to get on a rocket ship in fly to Partners? The gravity is too strong. When you think you know the answer, shout it out in three, two, one. Great job, friends. Now one down to the solo to see if you are right. Choose one idea for your idea lab. Then try it in a small way. Find one client. You can do it in the afternoon sometime. Just one simple test. You could ask yourself, did this help someone? What did I enjoy most about this idea I came up with? And what would I change for next time? And just like Leo and Lily, write down all your ideas. Or draw them out if you can't write yet. And tell someone you care about what you learned. And when you write down what happened, you become wiser next time. Listen, today we're not trying to get it perfect right away. We're practicing being brave and having fun when we try. You know what I think Leo and Lily would say right now? Oh, I know this one. When you notice a good idea, write it down before it flies away. I knew it. That's Leo and Lily's favorite rule. Because great ideas are a little bit like butterflies. If you don't catch them in your notebook, they might fly away. That is so special. We love butterflies so much. We sure do. They remind us of someone so very special. That's right and friends. One, two, stop trying ideas. Something else begins to happen. Sometimes you might own a little. Sometimes someone might give you something for your walk. Hint, hint. You get paid. Once you get paid, then comes the next big question. What do I do with what I've been given? That's why next time we're talking about something very important. Saving, spending, and giving. Because wise leaders do not just know how to earn. They know how to care for what they receive. Oh yes, still would sit. Friends, we love how curious you are. And trying something new takes real courage. Friends, we're really proud of you. Because learning to test an idea instead of being afraid of it is what leaders do. Today's episode helps you feel a little brave. So if you're a friend or someone you care about.
