Let's just leave it right. We're right. They're wrong. And hopefully get you going where you need to go with a smile on your face now coming up at 705 Jim Hansen military expert. Former special ops guy for the army talk about the next steps with Iran 735 brings this Mary Margaret O'Lan White House correspondent for Daily Wire 805 Tom Sauer did special ops for the Navy so he will join us from his perspective and then a 35 Chuck These DC political analyst here in the district about the mayor's race. It's Larry O'Connor with Bethany Mandel of the mom wars podcast and sub sec. Good morning, Bethany. Good morning, Larry O'Connor. We had our friend Patrice on Wuka who joins us on Fridays here on O'Connor company. Join us yesterday live from the South Lawn of the White House because it was the big Easter egg roll yesterday. You've done this event before. Have you not? No, I really want to actually. I thought you had I apologize. Awkward. It's I know it so it always obviously falls during Passover, so I've never it's it's a busy time for me and so I've never tried to attend, but it looks like so much fun. It does look like a madhouse though when I see that everyone on my Instagram is in the same place. I know that that's a crowded area. Yeah, no, totally and I did it was it was really delightful yesterday. Not only did I often see I've never done this of any of their CU and I have this in common never never done it and but yesterday we had a whole lot of mutual friends who were there people in the media people in the conservative movement here in Washington DC, including as I mentioned Patrice on Wuka and her children and our executive producer Heather Hunter along with her husband who I hear has an afternoon drive show here on WMA. I'll Derek Hunter. You might have familiar. Yes, they were there with their great children Quinn and Bailey looking beautiful and cute and the White House look gorgeous by the way all decked out and it beats it really beats the transgender visibility day that the Biden White House celebrated around the same time. I do like the Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny there that trout around they redesigned the costumes and they're a little I mean, okay, I was about to say they're a little more realistic and lifelike, but they are five foot tall rabbits. So how realistic can you be? But but they do they look more like a rabbit than the the other one just sort of you know, looked weird the one you know the one who like ran interference and tried to keep Joe Biden from talking to reporters. That's the one and we still don't know who was in the rabbit costumes. We're going to ask Mary Margaret O'Lean when she joins us at 735. See if well, she's if she's a White House correspondent she should get to the bottom of that. There were some iconic moments there yesterday. But nothing topped this here is President Trump standing on the portico in the second floor addressing everybody on the South lawn as is custom with the first lady at his right and the Easter Bunny on his left. And he took the occasion of the Easter egg roll with the Easter Bunny standing right next to him to talk about well the war in Iran here at five. I don't think it gets much more hostile than Iran. They're capable fighters. They're very tough people. And there are others like that. You don't mind when the enemy is weak, but that enemy is strong. Not so strong like they were about a month ago. I can tell you in fact right now they're not too strong at all in my opinion, but we're soon going to find out aren't we people people were captioning this you know, Trump announces his new secretary of war the Easter Bunny. It feels like we're in a simulation that he's standing up there and Milani looks very serious and he's very serious and there's children standing there and he's next to the Easter Bunny talking about war. My other favorite part of this day that I saw again because I did not get an invitation. I know that we have people listening who are in control of such things was that he was sitting at one of the tables with kids and he's signing autographs. He's signing eggs. He's signing different, you know, mementos for the kids who were there and he looks at one kid and he says, you know, I sign my own stuff. I'm not I'm not sleepy. Joe Biden who needed not open. I love when he talks to children. We actually have that moment. Take a listen. Yeah. And he'll have the auto pen shine. He takes the paper and he's guys. It ranks up there with you don't still believe in Santa, do you? Right? You never know what this age seven and six and touch and go or putting the candy bars on the heads of the the kids at Trick or Treat but it's true and I love that he's using the grandpa voice. He's like, let me tell you about the auto pad boys and girls. He also let them know being the consummate capitalists that he is. He was letting them know that as he autographed things for them that suddenly they increased in value here. Cut six. Take a listen. I would say Carolina hero interest in my oh that's nice. I think I'm inside this that way. I say I do it. Look, I do it. That's what I did everybody. But did you catch the beginning of it? Where he said, I'm going to autograph these for you and then you can get $25,000 on eBay with my favorite part about that was him talking about his granddaughter Caroline. You can see hit. You can hear his his daughter-in-law Laura Trump in the background and it's just grandpa. Not interested whatever grandpa doesn't want grandpa's autograph. Also, there was this moment. You know, there were a bunch of people from the egg industry there. The industry farmer. Sure. And he mentioned Kamala Harris and Joe Biden. Everybody's an egg person. I never saw so many eggs. It tells you it's a big industry. How did I do with the voters that do it? 100% or 90%? Anybody in the egg industry vote for Kamala? She's a low IQ person. Anybody in the industry vote for Kamala. She's a low IQ person. That was the Easter egg roll yesterday. And by the way, Trump's day was just getting started. This was at what like 9 30 10 in the morning. I think it's it's funny because I was told that he was surely dead on Saturday. Yes, yes. He was to read critical condition 25th Amendment. We didn't know he's just he's just Trump. By the way, speaking of Trump's grandchildren, one of them made a debut at the White House. It was Alexander Tiffany Trump's son made his debut and everybody looked gorgeous. Everyone looked beautiful, especially my little goddaughter Bailey Hunter in her little Easter Bunny and her sister, my unofficial goddaughter Quinn Hunter. They both looked great. As did their parents, Derek and Heather. It's 6 15. Hi, I'm Joe Salci. Hi, host of the stacking Benjamin's podcast. You know what? A lot of us get taxes wrong. Filing your taxes is basically data entry. There's been this trend of people going, Oh, it's so cool to file my taxes in August. It's so awesome. Don't worry. I have an extension. It'll be fine. I like totally do it later. Stop. Do your frigging taxes now. That was a really good fashion voice. Did you like it? You do that more frequently, please. Yes, every show from now on. Stacking Benjamin's follow and listen on your favorite platform. We're getting initial reports, by the way, and we're still getting more information coming in, but there was an explosion at the bridge of the Americas over the Panama Canal. Have you ever traversed the Panama Canal, Bethany Mendo? It is actually on my to-do list. It's worth doing. Panama looks beautiful. There's so much kosher food down there. It is on my bucket list in the next couple years. I'll tell you, we did a cruise, a pleasure cruise from New York to Los Angeles once with our children. One of the last trips we took actually is a intact family before my divorce. It was a great vacation, though, and we were homeschooling our children just like you homeschool your children. And so we built into their homeschooling curriculum on the cruise. Everything about the Panama Canal and everything about Panama. And we learned about the engineering of it and what they went through to make the Panama Canal and all the fits and starts and the changed plans and Teddy Roosevelt and all these things. And by the time we made it to the Panama Canal, our kids could give a briefing on the Panama Canal. It was, you know, it is when you homeschool and you sort of incorporate your lives and everything into it. Anyway, it was fantastic. And I learned so much about it as well. And so everybody should visit the Panama Canal and learn the history and the sacrifice that was made by Americans during that time to make this incredible engineering feat. Can you send all that to me? Yeah, I don't know if we still have it. That was a lot of years ago, my friend. That was about 18 years ago, I think. Anyway, bringing it back to the Panama Canal, there's it appears as though there was a accident involving a oil tank facility, a Balboa tank facility has exploded. It was ignited into a major fire just near the bridge of the Americas. This is the bridge that goes over a portion of the canal. And there is video that has captured this explosion from this tanker. There is no foul play suspected. This seems to be a disaster, an accident that has now ignited a chain of events. The tanker exploded and it exploded right at the shore under the bridge. So there's actually video footage from a tour bus that was traversing the bridge at the moment that one of the biggest explosions happened. So this this fire had ignited and then you know how these oftentimes these tanks that hold a bunch of oil and stuff are all you know, sort of situated right next to each other. Well, one exploded and then the next exploded and it's just a remarkable thing to see. Absolutely, absolutely terrifying, especially considering these people were you know, you can see cars and trains or excuse me cars and trucks and buses going across just at the moment of the biggest explosion. Really wild footage there at the at the moment right now, it's two additional storage units near the Balboa tank facility. There's reports of three injuries and I believe the last I saw there was one death reported as somebody who worked at that oil facility. Is it terribly self centered to ask how this will impact me because I am curious what this is going to do to international commerce and transportation. This is a major choke point for for transportation in this area. Yeah, are there any indications how this is going to impact the wider world here? I don't know in terms of oil supply, I don't think about it's not going to become a choke point for passage of the canal. The canal is actually very wide. It's a very big space and it's not so when you get up in the canal, you go through the locks right? So let me be clear on on where this explosion is. It's not near the locks facility where ships need to go in to be able to traverse the canal. Once you go through the locks, then you're in basically a giant man made lake and that will then take you the good portion of a day to get to the other side to traverse from the Atlantic to the Pacific or the Pacific to the Atlantic. So this should not stop any passage and any ships from being able to go through. So I doubt it's going to have an impact. The only impact is the you know, whatever oil was in those tanks that obviously destroyed. But that's that's that's our understanding, but it is right near the span. I mean, if it does create a log jam of travel, it's people crossing that bridge and vehicles crossing the bridge, but that's certainly not the the bulk of the of the Panama Canal. Traverse if anything, this bridge links the northern part of South America, Central America to the southern part of Central America to cross the canal via bridge. But it's a terrifying scenes. You're going to see video of this as you wake up this morning, you'll be turning on cable news and I assure you you'll be seeing a lot of footage of these explosions. It's just a stunning thing that cameras were able to catch. There's a wide shot showing vehicles going across the bridge as the major explosion takes place. But there's also as I mentioned, a shot from within a tour van or tour bus that was crossing just as the biggest explosion occurred and it's it's vivid. It's the kind of thing that cable news really, really loves. Again, I just want to reiterate though, it appears that there's no suspicion of foul play. This does seem to be an accident fire at the facility that then created this chain of events. But we shall see what the fallout is and whether it impacts oil prices or anything. There's there's plenty impacting oil prices right now, so they don't need this as well. In fact, speaking of that coming up throughout the morning, we're going to give you the latest on this deadline the President Trump has put on for Iran at 8 p.m. This evening at 7 0 5 will hear the Army's perspective. Jim Hansen, who is a specialist on operations like that and various national security issues and then 805 from the Navy perspective, former Navy Commander Tom Sauer right now at 6 23. Now on 105.9 FM and streaming worldwide on the WMA L app O'Connor and company. It's 6 37. Good morning. Thanks for tuning into O'Connor and company on a busy Tuesday morning in your nation's capital and the President's deadline for Iran is looming. What will the next step look like at 7 0 5 will ask Jim Hansen about it 735 Mary Margaret O'Lehan covered the President's busy day yesterday. She does that for the Daily Wire in a 805 Tom Sauer former Navy Commander. He used to do a explosive ordinance stuff. You D and then at 8 35 Chuck these DC political analyst on the curfew zones concerns over violence this summer and the DC Mayor's race all that coming up at Sauer Connor with Bethany Mandel. Good morning Bethany. You do explosive stuff yourself. Don't you? I do so folks can find me at the mom wars dot substack dot com. I try to write at least once a week sometimes less frequently sometimes more depending on the discourse discourse. Thank you for that. Just Sam Rosenblum is running for school board in Frederick County and Bethany you ran for school board in Montgomery County. So I did something in common there. And he joins us now by the way a Bachelor of Science in Biophysics Master's degree in nuclear engineering. Don't tell me when you start talking about your policies and thoughts about where the school system of Frederick County goes they call you stupid or something right nuclear engineer. They sometimes call me Sam the science man. I love it Sam the science man. Well listen thank you for joining us. I love this that you know somebody who has an accomplished career working the Department of Defense working for the Navy and the shipyards etc. You're now taking your lived experience and your obvious understanding of STEM and those areas of expertise to our school system. And I've got to think that you look at our curriculum right now on Frederick County and you I don't know do you think it's lacking in those areas. Well I certainly don't think that the school system it's so big and it's so bloated that it can that the curriculum can easily pivot you know and technology changes so quickly. You know if you're doing your taxes now it's tax season. I wouldn't advise you know people to think about a career in accounting because that's probably going to be taken over by a I shortly but when it when it comes to certain areas of technology you know I was I was at this forum called the better Maryland school for them and I was telling them you know instead of reading and writing and arithmetic we should be thinking reading and writing robotics reading and writing and electrochemistry reading and writing it and I wonder I don't think there was any person there who even knew why I mentioned electrochemistry. There's a room with a lot of people in it and you know the reason why I said electrochemistry. I'm not saying that they should teach that in high school but they sort of need to introduce these topics and explain to people and explain the math of it because electrochemistry is the is the fundamental science behind batteries right and batteries are now batteries for cars batteries for robots when when you have renewable energy and the wind doesn't blow and the sun doesn't shine well what do you need you need batteries and and it's just like an unlimited market. So yeah we need a curriculum to be able to the very least teach the kids the foundational skills so that when they go into an advanced program for something like that that's so specialized they at least have the basics already done at the primary score elementary school level. Here's the problem you and I have been talking about you know academics and skills and and future prospects and where we're headed in the context of a school board election. The problem is most candidates running for school board they don't seem to what really want to care about stuff like that they care about all these cultural and social things instead. I feel like people who get on school boards are more interested in immigration policy and and and gender issues rather than academics. Well you know if you were you know a Martian from outer space and you came to Earth and you were looking at these buildings you know the school buildings and you're trying to figure out like what's happening in those buildings. And you know in the 1960s you'd see a lot of teachers and a lot of students and you that's the conclusion you'd probably come to others teaching and there's learning. But now it's so top heavy with with administrators almost as many administrators as there are teachers with all sorts of hard to figure out what a lot of the administrators even do and and when you increase the budget you know the budget goes to the people that are paid three times as much as the teachers that you might come to the conclusion that teaching is not the primary purpose of what's happening in the actual in the schools. So we heard your bio but I feel like one important piece of information was missing. Are you a parent. I am you are so tell me more about your kids and the school choices that you've made and what you learned watching your kids go through the school system. Well that is very interesting. I raised I was born in Maryland. I was raised in Maryland. My children were raised in Maryland and my children actually went to private Jewish day schools in Baltimore and in Baltimore in Baltimore the entire community there really does not avail itself of the of the of the public school system. So very unique area and my my personal cultural background you know is education. You know I was taught that if you drop a book on the floor to pick it up and kiss it and I always thought everyone did that. I'm 100 I love that. serious. So it seems like a lot of people moved to Frederick County to escape whatever school system they were in. I'm not talking about 10 15 20 years ago and said we want to start a family. Let's go to Frederick County because they have better schools and they're not as crowded and that frankly the school system there is you know focused on more fundamental areas of academia and it's just going to be less chaotic. I feel like Frederick County schools have changed quite a bit just in the last 5 or 10 years. Have you have you noticed the same trend is that part of the reason why you're running for school board. The reason I'll tell you exactly the reason why I'm running for school board is because I started attending the school board meetings. It was more like a first amendment. You'd go and give public comments and listen to everyone and then I realized that my specific background of technology. The first thing I ever got to do was work in a shipyard and and I saw an aircraft carrier being built from the bottom up and it was a lot a lot of fun when I was in my 20s and I went to work for you know the Department of Defense. I got to see satellites and underground nuclear tests and all kind of you know crazy things and I never really thought of it is particularly unique because that was the environment and those are the people that I worked with everyone I worked with you know was a nuclear engineer or some engineer and then now you know I'm looking at all the technology and everything and I'm thinking that this would be a really good thing to sort of embed in the existing curriculum. I don't think we can necessarily add to the curriculum but the let's say there's there's a math class wouldn't it be nice to introduce children to the to the concept of applied math. How does that apply to manufacturing. Why do people manufacture large numbers of things to drive down the cost you know how do you calculate that and give examples of things to get the gears and some children's minds working and you know the young people they don't know what it was like when we were when I was young and I remember the first time I saw a student with a pair of sneakers that wasn't made in the United States now there's nothing made in the United States and it's a little bit sad but maybe a young person that doesn't have that you know that history and that memory would be you know they're not they're not troubled by it and they might say oh I learned a little bit about manufacturing and the technology of it maybe I went on a field trip I went to there's a company called Northern Virginia Realty in Thermoth it has a big factory that's robots in it and all sorts of automation you know someone might say well you know maybe I can make a pair of sneakers but you go to the CEO with big you know a clothing company they'll give you a million reasons why you can't manufacture something in the United States but so we have I'm an optimist I think that things might happen. Sam Rosenblum personifies a citizen participation in our elected election system he is running for school board in Frederick County you can get more information about him from Sam for school board dot com we will be met with a very nice greeting education not indoctrination love that and love your puppy dog on your school board is on your website as well that's a that's a very cute looking puppy good for you my best friend and thank you Sam for school board thank you Sam Hogsman Sam for school okay okay thank you very much Sam for school board dot com I'll get it in there for you again Sam for school board dot com 645 next role with Vernon Davis your host Vernon Davis okay y'all thank you thank you that's not today we have each of wise through my example on the field off the field during game day in practice that was one way that I led because they let's success next role isn't about what's next it's about why they do it my man Bobby bones like I've had a lot of stuff happen bad and good and so I don't have any fear of mixing up that's powerful man next role with Vernon Davis follow and listen on your favorite platform I'll give you an update on the Artemis to mission where history was made yesterday the astronauts did their fly by of the moon crossed its orbit did a very close fly by and then had the incredible achievement of traveling the furthest away from the earth any person has ever traveled and yes they did it while looking at the dark side of the moon that's very exciting. It was Meredith was like locked in on this all day long. I was just about to say I am locked in on this they were out of communication with NASA for 40 minutes while they were on the dark side of the moon. What do you think they talked about. It is right. I don't think they had a lot of work to do but it is it is it is this is what's weird to me considering all of the things that we can do and all of the incredible achievements we've done and we've now done this you know from this mission past the moon furthest we've ever gone but the second you get behind the moon and you are you know out of range of the earth you still can't have a conversation you think that they would have figured something out you know bounced it off the satellite or something. But I agree. I thought that was strange also I radio silence wonder how much conversation happened about the the bad he be jeebies it is to follow Apollo 13's route around the moon because that was that was not a great movie. I mean it was you know on the merits you may not want to yeah in terms of the story was a little scary. Well Apollo 13 only did that route because they had to they had to yeah. You guys are doing it because they want to. I'm just saying I I don't I don't know that that's a decision that I would make I watched that movie somewhat recently with my children because we went to the air and Space Museum and we were talking about what happened with Apollo 13 and it is a fantastic movie and that level of ingenuity and problem solving I don't think could be done in 2026. I don't they don't make them like that anymore. Well certainly not with the tools or lack thereof that they had you know the fact that they figured it all out using slide rules and writing on chalkboards and stuff and that famous scene of them holding up you know a handful of materials and they said we have to figure out how to put this in this and all we have is this right that is that is something that that is a skill that I don't feel like is taught to children nowadays. Harkening back to our conversation in the last segment with Sam who's running for school boarding. Yes that is a really cute dog. But I I don't know anyway I'm on a Apollo 13 tangent. I'm sorry. I love it is what you should. All right. Well listen the president made a phone call to the astronauts yesterday. We will play that sound of that phone call a little later in the program. So keep it here at 653. This isn't your average podcast. This pot is about to be crazy. I don't even know what's going to happen. This is full send. It's just like a boy scrap.
