The following podcast is a Dear Media production. Hello, hello. Welcome back to the What We Said podcast to everybody. I hope you're having a great day. This is a very exciting episode. Lots of new things happening around here. So now at the What We Said podcast, at the end of every month, we're going to have an episode where we do our monthly favorites. So just get ready for some good recommendations. These aren't just like, oh, products we've been loving, but movies we've watched, just anything. Like I'm talking about… Favorite substack article, thoughts that we had, favorite experience, favorite methods. Like just different things that we take note of that we love that we want to talk about and we want to share with you as a recommendation of our monthly favorites. No, my serotonin just like is billowing right now. I love listening to things like this. Yes. And we decided to switch our schedules a little up in the air and we'll keep you guys updated. on like exactly when this episode will come out every month, but we're still doing our monthly advice columns too. And then we wanted to throw in this as like a constant as well is kind of just like a monthly roundup of favorites. And yeah, it's not just going to be product recommendations, but there might be some products in there. But also, I don't know. It's a working concept because we didn't know if we should have specific categories, like, you know, favorite movie of the month favorite, blah, blah, blah. Or if today we're just is the Wild West. We're just, we wrote down a list of a bunch of different stuff and then maybe we'll workshop it. So in the future, it's like more streamlined. But right now we're just chit chatting away. So hope you guys are down for that and hope you're excited. I was resisting not just putting a bunch of stuff on here because as we know, as I talked about, I've been loving stuff and I've been leaning into my love of stuff and not in a hoarding way, in a appreciation of people's creations kind of way. Do you want to start? Do you want me to start? Oh, we're just like already getting right into it. I have a glitch in the matrix story for you guys now, don't I? Okay. This is the most confusing thing that has happened to me in quite a minute. So I needed to share with my gals. I have this necklace. Okay. This name necklace. It's a gold. You might have seen it. Yes. It's a gold plated necklace that says JC Marie on it. I've had it for years. The only thing that I haven't loved about this necklace is that it's kind of sharp. So it's not like the letters are like not super curved. They're like, I don't know how to explain it. Yeah, they're kind of pokey. Like the gold is just anyway, sometimes it would poke me or I would grab it. And I'm like, geez, these like corners of these letters are sharp to me. Random tidbit. Okay. Random context that you need. When we were in Arizona for tour a few months ago, we went to Olive Ave. Chelsea and I created these little charm necklaces. Gorgeous. Love them. Shout out Olive Ave. Obsessed. Been wearing mine every day. Now, this is where things get fuzzy, okay? Because after we went into Olive Ave and we did this whole charm necklace, you know, we created it, whatever. They had little goodie bags for us, which was so nice of them. They just had like a few little products and things, a little cleaner for our jewelry, like a little pen that you can clean your gold jewelry with and stuff. And there was an Olive Ave box, like a jewelry box. And I open it when I'm back home and it's a gold necklace. It's like a nameplate necklace that says JC Marie. And I'm like, oh, they like, and all their stuff is solid gold. Like they don't sell anything that's gold plated. So I was like, oh my gosh, they literally made me a JC Marie necklace, but it's solid gold now. So I can like, you know, shower with it. Like that is so nice of them. They didn't mention it to me when I was there, but like they had put it in this bag for us and in this box. So I'm so- They had already given us solid gold necklaces. Right. So I was like, that is so nice of them. So I'm like so excited too, because I'm like, oh my gosh, this stacks so well with my charm necklace, like obsessed. I start wearing it every day. Like from that moment, I genuinely did not take it off. Okay. I've been showering in it, the whole nine yards. Literally a week or two ago, this is months later. By the way, anytime anyone asks about the necklace, like, because I will get comments on TikTok or whatever, people like, where's this name necklace from? And I'm always tagging all that. Did a story about the charm necklace was talking about how much I love it. I was like, also, they made me this solid gold name necklace. Like I've mentioned it 5 million times online and been, you know, sending people, not the link, but like all of Avenue's website and everything. So I've been like feeling a little weird about it lately because I was like, I should have like, first of all, reached out to them and thanked them for specifically for that necklace. Because I thanked them for like overall the whole thing. But I'm like, that was so like nice of them and extra of them to do. Like, I obviously have been talking about it and whatever, but I'm like, I need to like reach out to her and just be like, wait, that was so nice of you, you know? so I'm talking to Chelsea about it I'm like wait did Olive Ave give you a name necklace like a Chelsea name necklace or something but no this is what JC says we're sitting here at the podcast she's like by the way she's like did you get one of these from Olive Ave like showing me her gold necklace I'm like what no she's like yeah she's like they gave me this name plate solid gold when we went there they put it in my bag I'm like you're joking she's like no like I'm sure they gave you one too I'm like that wasn't in my bag I didn't get one she's like oh my gosh did I throw it away. I'm like, did I freaking out? Did I not see it in the bag? And then I just like, didn't realize. Then I start questioning myself because I'm like, okay. Because then I'm like, well, did they just not make me one? They made JC one. And then I'm like, that's weird. I'm like, they would have made you one. And then I'm like, rethinking all my steps. And I'm like, it's kind of weird that when I talked about it, they didn't acknowledge it at all. Like they weren't like, oh my gosh, we're so happy you love the name. Like I've been literally tagging them a million times. Like they haven't acknowledged the name necklace aspect of it, which is totally fine. But as I was thinking, I'm like, okay, did I make up that they gave that? Like, why was that in that box? And I'm like, that's not the necklace I've always had though, because this one, and this is the glitch in the matrix. This one is like smoother. Like the corners are smoother and it doesn't poke me. So, and I swear, I literally have a memory of coming home and being like, oh, I don't need the pokey one that's gold plated because this one's solid gold and it's like comfier. Yeah. I literally have a memory of like seeing them and being like, oh, I don't need that one anymore. Tell me why I start digging in my. I'm like, well, you must have a pic. Because she's like, these aren't the same. They don't even look the same. And we're like, yeah, what the heck? So I'm like, well, when was the last time you had a picture of you wearing the other one? She's like, oh, I wore the other one in New York. So I'm like, hey, let's look at a picture of you wearing it in New York. And she finds one. I find one. Oh, the way you guys, the way I'm trembling, by the way, I'm like looking for the photo. I'm trembling. I'm like, oh, am I going crazy? I pull it up. Same necklace, mama. Daisy holds it up. She's like, are these the same necklaces? I'm like, yes, ma'am. You see, like everything is exactly the same. Identical. I'm like, what's happening? She calls the owner, like you're friends with the owner. She calls her. She's like, did you guys make JC a nameplate necklace? Before I even say anything, I'm like, hi. I'm like, I have a question about a glitch in the matrix thing. She's like, I think I know what you're about to say. She's like, we were so confused. She kept mentioning we made her this necklace. I'm like, did we make her that necklace? Because they do do nameplates, like, but it's custom. so you can like, you know, make custom jewelry with them. That's part of their business. And so she's like, did Leif order it for her? She's like, I was digging through, like trying to find like, how did we get that to her? She's like, we were swearing. Like, wait, what is happening? It was hilarious. I was so confused and I still am because I swear to you, this necklace is different. And now I'm wondering if someone else sent it to me in between because I'm like, I'm telling you this is a different necklace. but also the way I've been showering in it every day for two months. I'm like, cool. Probably is rusting now. And like the quality is just deteriorating. I think the funniest thing from my perspective of that was when you first brought up. She showed me that. She's like, did all of apps send you this? Solid gold. Solid gold. This is solid gold. So proud of the fact that it's solid gold. I'm mentioning it every time I talk about it. I'm like, nameplate, necklace, solid gold. I can shower in it. Like so obsessed with it. first of all, I'm like, I need to order myself a solid gold nameplate necklace now from them because, you know, it's just the perfect accessory to always have on. Dying. I could not believe. So apparently they never made me one. Not a thing at all. Apparently that's the necklace I've always had, even though it looks and feels completely different. It's so weird. Maybe it's because you saw it with new eyes. Maybe that's the moral of the story is sometimes all you have to do is believe something's new. No, it's so true. But also, I've been trying to figure out how it got in that box. Because it was in the box. And the conclusion I'm coming to is that I must have been wearing it when I got to Olive Ave and taken it off so that I could like try on other jewelry. And they just put it in that box for me to like keep it safe. And then they put it in the goodie bag box. Yeah. Or in the bag. Yeah. So that's what I'm thinking happened. But the other weird part of that situation was I had no recollection of wearing that necklace to Olive Ave. So I was like, where did this necklace come from? Yeah. And why is it different than the other one? That's weird. Anyway, I would give anything. I've been digging. Like, again, when I tell you, I've been trembling. I'm like going through my jewelry box. I'm like, where's the old necklace then? I'm so confused. No, that's insane. It's actually so crazy. Also, the emotional rollercoaster of me thinking that I threw away a solid gold necklace. That they made me a custom nameplate and I threw it away on accident. Like, I didn't see it or something. I was panicking as well. Oh, and I haven't mentioned. I haven't said a thing. I just like, they made me a solid gold necklace. and I'm like, oh, well. So that was a relief for me, honestly. No, that was, I was so embarrassed too. I'm like, cool. They're probably like, can you stop telling everyone you got this from us when it's fully 14 karat? It's like plated. They're like, this is all of Av's gold right here. Zooming in on it. Literally, it's like tarnished and dingy. I'm like, this is, I'm obsessed. I'm like, what is going on? Stuff like that is so weird. It's so trippy. The Glitch in the Matrix things. I'll update you guys if I ever find the other necklace, which apparently is just the same. So I don't know. Yeah. I would love a nameplate necklace though. Now that you're mentioning that. So maybe let's do it. No, seriously. Friendship necklaces? I'm down. Because I really have worn mine every day. And I just feel like it's so, it's so fun to have a little personalized thing. And it was stacking. So I'm just like. But you know what I genuinely bring from my childhood is I, okay, when you did Little League, I promise this leads back. When you did like Little League soccer growing up or like softball or whatever. And everyone would have their names on the back of their jersey. Did you get your name on the back of the jersey? Like were your parents putting on? Because my parents would not do that. They wouldn't put our names on the back of the jersey. For a reason? Yes, because they were, they didn't want us to get kidnapped. They didn't want someone to like be able to say our name or like see our name and be like, oh, hey, like Chelsea, like whatever. And be like, oh, they know my name. Like just whatever. So niche. And so niche. or maybe I heard it at school. I don't remember. Like I have that from my childhood. So there's this little, very irrational part of me that's like, doesn't want to wear my name on things. I'm screaming. But it's like, oh, they'll know. And like, then they know my name. Gets kidnapped. Like Chelsea, is that you? JC Marie. I'm like, I fall for it. I'm like, you know me? I must trust you. I'll go with you. That is so funny. Speaking of, wait, what just made me think of how in the world is this correlating in my mind? another thing that I was wanting to bring up to you on the podcast, I swear I don't know how I connected these two things, is how popular boomerangs used to be. You know what I'm talking about? The reason this came about for me, like this memory of creating boomerangs on your Instagram story, I was looking for this boom sound. You know the viral, which I literally still can't figure out and I need to ask Keaton, but you know the viral like boom sound that's like in funny videos. You know what I'm talking about? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. What is that sound called? How do you find that sound? Maybe like a gong or something? No, no, it's not. I don't know. So I remember that I had texted Keaton about this before because I was like, I feel like he would know that. And I was like wanting to insert it into a video just to be dumb. And so I go into my text and I searched boom because I was like, I think I texted Keaton like, what's that viral boom sound a while ago? So I searched boom and I'm going through my thing. And it's all of the history of me ever saying boom is like from a long time ago saying, hey, can you send me that boomerang of us? Like, oh, I'm going to send in this boomerang that I took for this brand. Hey, Leif, can you send me the boomerang from tonight? Like there was so many. And I was like, boomerangs eat. They were really eating back then. Like that was the thing. And I would do that for brands, like also just at dinner with friends. Like we would always make a boomerang. Yeah. I was reflecting upon the 2016 trends. And so many of my photos are from the app Photo or whatever. It's like P-H-H-H-O-T-O. Oh, yeah, yeah. Where it's boomerangs, but it's like filmy and vintage. Such a short-lived app. So short-lived. Me and Nick were addicted to making photos, like where it's just like a little glitchy photos, like a living photo. So good, honestly. Tezza has that now, like the little glitch or shimmy thing or whatever it's called. But it wasn't. Is that a video? It kind of is. Or is it take a photo and make it glitchy? Ooh, I remember that. Because the photo was a video. A video. It was actually, it was like a boomerang. Yeah. It would go back and forth. It was like a boomerang with like a filter on it. Do you know what? Throwback. App I really thought would take off that didn't really. Be real? Yes. I was fully convinced that that could be like the next massive thing. And that there were so many ways that they could like pivot and kind of. Yeah. And it just didn't really. I mean, I'm sure it's still popular. I'm never on it. It only lasted a few months for me. But like I really there for a second was like, this is the next big thing. Yeah, I was wrong. That's okay. We all are sometimes. It's the first time for you. So welcome to the club. Like my first time being wrong. I'm 31. I've never said that out loud. Wow, 31. Let's get into our favorites. I can't wait to hear yours. On your 32nd year. Yeah, same. My 32nd year. Same, same, same. I can't wait to hear myself speak. No, I can't wait to hear yours. I of course had to write mine down in my Louis Carmen because this journal you guys if you're not watching on YouTube sorry you can't see it but this is my first January favorite and I've had it for almost a year now because I got it for my 30th birthday and it is tried and true we're the analog I hear is happening and this is your best friend it's worth every penny it is a little pricey worth every penny they called the journal of your life for a reason I swear like the patina over time is just so gorgeous. It's really pretty. And it holds so much over the over time. I have the like this like portfolio insert as well into mine. I have three different journals in here. And I was talking to Kristen Johns yesterday because she has a Louise Carmen as well. Louise Carmen? Yeah. And we were talking about she has like the they have different inserts where they have an actual calendar like schedule to do list one. I just have like the lined ones or the dotted ones and what we use them for. And like everyone uses it for such different things. It's like the funnest, custom, beautiful piece. They have different models as well. So some are more journal centered and then others are more like portfolios. There's like bigger if you write scripts and you can put like full papers and junk journaling. Like you can add a bunch of, you know, stickers. I always put tickets in here. Like I have my little name tag when we went to NASA, like stickers when we want to go on tour and we would always get like an all access pass. Like I put the sticker in there, like on the page and like write about it. So fun. That's my first January favorite, even though it's been a, it's, I didn't get it this month, but it's been very helpful in this season of new goals and writing things down and brain dumping and trying to get organized and just, you know, keeping myself centered. So yeah, it's so iconic. I'm not worthy of it quite yet, but. No, you are. You need one. Not yet. Not yet. Deprive yourself of it. I'm not ready quite yet. You need to work a little hard. You know how it is. It's weird. I really do feel that I am this way, but it's not. It genuinely doesn't come from a place of like, I'm not worthy of this. It just is more. I don't want to get something I'm not going to use to its full potential. Yes. I don't feel. Yeah. Like it's justified to spend a lot of money on something if I'm not super into that thing at that moment. Or yeah, I just don't feel like I'll get the full use. For sure. And then it doesn't mean as much if you're not excited and like honestly looking forward to it because I was looking forward to it for months where I'm like, okay, I really want one. Maybe I'll get it for my birthday. Like I'll save it for like, I really want it to be put a lot of thought into it. Yeah, exactly. So maybe a year from now I will because I actually, I have been trying to get into journaling more, which I, I say that I'm honestly not looking to, I don't know. There's just certain things that I feel like a huge goal for 2026. Like every day I'm going to journal. It's not, but I do think writing can be super beneficial. Everyone who has talked about the artist way, like you do artist pages, like brain dump things. And everyone says it's life changing. So it's something that I definitely am interested in getting more into. But it's also not like my number one priority of the year, I would say, because I do feel like my version of journaling is taking a ton of photos. And I'm, you know, I'm happy with that. But I did just order a journal from the brand No Particular order Are you familiar with it I feel like this is good for a newbie or for if you not like great at being consistent with journaling because let me find the one I got really fast I actually forgot to write down the specific thing, but I really like this brand in general. And okay, I think I just got this one. It's like volume one, 200 different journal prompts. It's really cute and fun. Like there's this little, there's just different prompts. So every day is completely different. Like on one of these pages, It's just a Venn diagram. Oh, cool. And it says, how would you describe your style? How would your friends describe your style? And then like... Cute. And you like ask your friends. And then you do a Venn diagram, whatever. One of them is, how do you reconnect with the earth regardless of where you are? I would have these bumper stickers on my car and then you just like draw them. Cute. So there's really cute. I feel like they're more unique. Like... That is cute. Than just the typical like, what are you grateful for? Like, it just feels like these ones are a little more fun and funky. and uh, yeah, you also it has like a paper like cover so you can customize it so you can draw on it or put stickers on it or whatever. I think it's good as a starting out journal if sometimes to me if I just have blank pages, it feels a little more daunting. Like I do like the prompts just to get my brain going. So I just ordered it a week ago. So I'm like very fresh to using it. Can't really give my full my full take on it, but I am putting it next to my bed and I do want to use it because I like the prompts aspect of it. Yeah, that's cool. And the whole, that whole brand is cool. So if you are, if you're getting into the analog journey as well, you guys should look into it. Go the distance with CoverGirl's new eye enhancer wrap tubing mascara for lash extension effect. Okay, listen, you have to try this mascara. My lashes look unreal. The second I put on, it gives instant definition, length and lift and the flexible tapered brush makes it so easy to apply. It grabs even my tiny little bottom lashes and it actually keeps them separated instead of turning them into one big clump. And the best part, the tubing formula. You know I'm obsessed with a tubing mascara. And when I'm doing full glam for tour, I always use one. So of course, this new CoverGirl mascara had me instantly. If you've never used a tubing mascara before, these little ultra stretch lightweight tubes wrap around every lash, which is how it gives that instant lash extension vibe without the lash appointment. It also wears like a dream, no flakes, no smudges, no raccoon eyes for up to 30 hours. I can literally trust it to look perfect all day on tour, which says a lot. And removing it, honestly, magic. After a live show, the last thing I want to be doing is standing at the bathroom sink trying to get my makeup off. I just want to crawl into bed. And that's why I love how quick and easy it is to remove. Just warm water on a cotton pad, hold for a few seconds, and the tubes literally slide right off. No scrubbing, no makeup all over my white towels, no panda eyes in the morning. Plus, it comes in three gorgeous shades, Max Motion Black for drama, Espresso Energy for soft everyday vibes, and Midnight Stride if you want that wide awake, bright eyed look. Honestly, I live in Max Motion Black. It makes my eyes pop even on zero sleep days and I basically can't go without it. So if you want a mascara that actually does it all, lengthens, lifts, stays put all day, and removes easily without scrubbing drama, you need to try CoverGirl's new Eye Enhancer Wrap Tubing Mascara. And this is not new at all, but I was just refocusing on eBay. And how good shopping on eBay really is. I feel like I tend to, you know, go in person to thrift stores when I'm shopping or estate sales or things like that. And I love going in person. Don't get me wrong, because I love the experience of it. or Depop or Poshmark or the RealReal, like these places that are, you know, you're going and you know there's going to be clothes. But eBay is like just everything. So it feels a little bit more like you're digging, you're searching, you're really in there for the gather of it all. Yeah. And you're having to really sift through a lot of stuff. And they have such great stuff. Nick has been an eBay shopper. He gets such cool clothes from there. He gets so many just things that I'm like, wait, where did you get that? it'll be basically used new or whatever where it's like sold out shoes that like are a couple years old but they're sold out and whatever they're super cool and he'll buy them and I'm like where'd you get that and he's like eBay I'm like eBay like I just never think to shop on eBay for those kinds of things like if I'm looking for something very specific but I'm talking about just like perusing on eBay like I've been looking up like solid gold charms like vintage charms or different like leather jackets or certain things. If you're looking for something, they have so much stuff. And also the prices are great. The prices are great. For kids close too. I've gotten some really cute stuff for Benny that's like vintage and very cute. And it'll actually be like $6. Yes. It's so good. I just had forgotten about it and I'm re-remembering it. And I posted on the only Substack post I have so far was like my recent eBay finds because they were just inspiring me. Wait, is it public? Because I tried to go to your sub stack. I didn't see any posts. I don't know what's going on with my sub stack. Okay. I think I have two. Two posts? Or two accounts? I think I have two accounts. Because I looked, you said, you're like, I wrote a sub stack. So I looked up your name and it was like, no posts. I was like, oh, she must have not like published it. I meant to ask you earlier. Yeah, I don't know. I'll figure it out. I would love to see your eBay finds. I'll figure it out because I'm like, that's why I got no likes. Okay, cool. Yeah, I need to figure it out. I don't know what's going on because I, no one cares. But I logged in and I was like, wait, this is not my profile picture. what is going on? Like that is my profile. You got catfished. Yeah. Someone's catfishing. Anyways, that's my next one. Wow. Love. I love an eBay find. I agree. I don't get there. It is kind of something that I sporadically remember. Like you said, it's not like a habit for me to go on there, but they really do have some good stuff. Okay. My next one is the new iPhone camera and I need to air my testimony. Do you have the new iPhone? Okay. I need it. So my phone sex. I've hated every new iPhone camera for the past few years. Like it always, I don't know, you just think it's going to be great because it's the new and improved iPhone. And then I've been like, why in the world am I like, why are these photos so bad? Foggy, bad. I can see every pore. They're blown out. Or the opposite. You zoom in on yourself and you think it's like great lighting and then you zoom in and it's pixely AF. Yeah, pixely, like gray. I'm just like, what is going on with these, with this camera? And I did not like my last phone's camera at all. I have, I have the newest one now, which I think is the 17 Pro Max is the one that I have. And I, okay. The blown out aspect, like I've been over this. I use the burst feature for every single photo, not a photo in my camera roll. That's not a burst at this point. That is just a habit at this point. And I actually don't mind because I kind of like the concept of bursting because you can get like a lot of different range. Like if Benny's running, I'll just burst. And then it's like I get all these cute shots of her running. You know what I mean? Great for kids, actually. Yeah, it actually is great. And you just get these cute moments that I think it's harder to get when you're when it's not rapid firing. I'm used to doing that now, so I don't really mind it. It's kind of part of my routine of taking photos. That being said, I do still think that this new camera does do kind of that blown out thing if you're not bursting. So that aspect of it is kind of annoying. But at this point, like it's just again, I'm used to it. So that's not necessarily what I'm even talking about with the photos and like me loving the camera. This camera has 8x zoom. And when I tell you, I will take a video of 8x zoom of the ocean or something, and it looks like it should be in a movie. Yeah. The quality is insane. These zooming, like I've been doing 2X, 4X, 8X, and it's like the most cinematic, beautiful footage I've ever seen. I'm shook. Yeah. It's really impressive. People are genuinely starting, and I'm actually not kidding, to like shoot movies on iPhones. The quality is getting insane, and I just think it is worth it. Like as someone who lives and breathes for my cameras, I've been so impressed with just the quality of it. And at this point, like I prefer it sometimes even for, I don't want to speak too soon, but I am thinking about getting back on YouTube. We will see. And I'm like, I prefer when I'm doing horizontal shots to actually use my iPhone at this point for like B-roll, you know, pretty things because it is so beautiful. Like it's a different, It's just different when you can do that zoom feature. It makes things look more, the depth look cooler and it makes it look more cinematic than just like a flat image with my vlog camera, I guess. So anyway, just had to sing the praises. You've sold me on it. I've been thinking about that recently, how my camera is, I don't like. That phone, I'm telling you, that specific model or something, it was like the worst for me, at least. I was like, oh, I hate my camera. Like I would be constantly cleaning it off because I'm like, is it foggy? Is it my, you know, which I still do. Again, these are things that have become part of my routine. Like every time before I go to take a photo or video, I wipe off the camera because, you know, that is something that sometimes it will get a little foggy from. Yeah, greasy from your fingers or being in your pocket or whatever. But I would have to do that way more with that camera. Like I don't know what it was about that last phone that just I hated the quality of everything. Yeah, that's good to know. You've sold me, honestly. Thank you. My next thing that I've been obsessed with that, that I don't know, I just, it's new to me is ski culture and ski fashion. Ever since we went on that Vail trip and I started, you know, looking at clothes for that. And I've never lived in the snow besides living in Utah for maybe a year of my life or like two years of my life. So I've never fully, and I also never skied growing up. I never snowboarded. I never was into that culture at all or I never was in that culture of skiing, snowboarding, all of the gear and all of that stuff. and so we went to Vail obviously like two months ago or a month ago at this point and it was so fun and I just so fabulous I love it like I just love that kind of fashion it's so cool to me probably because it's so new and it's so different and there's just new and exciting accessories and things to see walking around those ski towns and just seeing everybody and like these big jackets and these fur boots just like it's so cool to me it is and all the celebrities and everything just went to Aspen too. So I was seeing tons of that content of like they're cozy, warm, whatever. Loved it. And then we're going on another ski trip, me and Nick and the boys, and I'm actually going skiing. I'm terrified, but crossing my fingers, I'm going to have an amazing experience. And you will, I feel like you'll love it. Yeah. And I've just been, now I'm kind of looking more so for actual ski wear. Tell me why it's the most expensive thing to do in the world. Yeah. So you're doing this all the time. Everything is $800. Like to actually ski or just the gear? All of it. Yeah. To actually ski. I don't even know how much the daily passes or how much you would have to pay if you lived somewhere or something. But the passes, the actual ski equipment, if you snowboard as well, the helmets, the goggles, the jackets, the thermal layers. Like for good quality things. Like I've been reading blogs about like, okay, you want to be cost effective, but you also, they were saying like, you don't want to just get cheap stuff because it'll fall apart. You have to keep getting new stuff. So you want to get like good quality stuff. Obviously there's like super expensive things as well that are just fashionable, but just ski suits and like all of it. But it's so inspiring to me. What's your vibe? Like neutral, colorful, extra, vintage? Vintage? I love the colors. I don't know. All of it. Honestly, I've been like looking at lots of colors, but I also just love like a sleek white or black in the snow. I feel like just looks so good for like skiing or like gold or red or something that stands out. Definitely vintage inspired for sure. I actually just saw someone was posting Victoria Beckham's old ski wear that she was wearing. Like, yeah, it's very looks very cold. First of all, my main priority is warmth above fashion. Honestly, like I want to I do not want to be cold. Miserable being miserable. Truly. So it's been so fun just looking at different brands that I love that, again, I never was looking at before because I live in Southern California. I grew up in Arizona. That's like the opposite of the wear that I'm looking for. So yeah, just fun. Can't wait to see your looks. Well, yeah. And let's not get too, let's not get too hasty, but let's have medium expectations. Well, I'm excited nonetheless. Thank you. Okay. You guys look no further. I've found the perfect nail color. And that's my next favorite. This is a little bit niche and maybe it's specifically, oh, I'm a corpse in here. It's good. I don't know with these lights. I honestly am so cold right now. I feel like my hands have no color to them. But, you know, everyone needs a go-to nail color. Maybe you don't. Maybe you love switching it up every single time. Love that journey for you. But it's nice to find a color that really goes with your skin tone. And I actually feel like it has been, this has been a journey that I've been searching for the perfect kind of like milky pinkish white neutral color that I, that, you know, looks just clean and nice on my nails and specifically my skin tone. I've tried so many different ones. I've tried so many different combinations. I've gone on Pinterest, like what's the perfect milky, you know, I've done the love in the bear, nude, whatever, funny bunny, bubble bath. I've done the combos I've done. I'm trying to think of the other ones, but there's a lot of like popular ones. This one I was asking my nail girl if this one's popular. And she was like, yeah, it's pretty popular. I had this once, I think a few years ago, and I remember really liking it. And it came to my mind again. And it was a recommendation that I had seen on social media. Like some girl was like, this is my favorite. And I remembered the color and I was like, wait, I need to try that one again. So the color is OPI. Let me buy you a drink and buy you is the word buy you. B-A-Y-O-U. Okay. You know? Yeah. It's one word. That's the color, but specifically the gel color because my nail girl was saying the normal color is more white than the gel one. So people will come in and want it and then be like, wait, no. So this is if you have gel nails. I have tried, like, most of the problem that I run into is that it will be either too pink, it will be too white, it will be too nude. Yeah. To where it doesn't have enough color and it genuinely looks like I'm a corpse, especially because I am very fair. Like, I need something with a little bit of, like, warmth and color to it. Some colors are too peachy. Some colors are too cool-toned, so they're, like, give purple. And I feel like this is just, like, the perfect medium. Yeah, it's really cute. It just like goes with my coloring and I feel like clean and I feel aligned. Okay. Yes. No, I love that. So. That's good. It's you want, I feel like the perfect color, it matches your nail bed color, like the bottom of your nail bed, not the top, but like the bottom part where it's like kind of light pinkish. You want it to be closer to that than something. Maybe. Because I will save things. Like I've had, I've seen multiple girls. I think it was love is in the bear or something. They're like, this is my favorite one coat of this. And it looks like so chic. but they're really all of skin tone. Like the girl that I screenshotted and I put it on, I'm like, this just does not go with my skin tone. So anyway, I've been on the search and genuinely for like two years. Like I will try a different combination every time I go because I like trying to find the one And who knows if I like get sick of this or something but it also has a little bit of shimmer to it So it almost gives like not chrome but like it a little something different but it still just like chic and yeah It does look really good. I love it. Thank you. I have been obsessed and I'm like, okay, this is the one. And if they discontinue this color, I'll freak out. They always do. I think it's pretty popular though. So hopefully not. That's good. That's good. I was going to say the favorites always get discontinued. I don't know why of everything. I know it does feel that way. I need to find a good nail color. Mine are so bad right now. I do feel like you could get away with like such a neutral though. Like yours doesn't need to be pinky. Like I feel like my mind does. Like even our friend Rachel, she was talking about nail colors and she was like, she was like, I got this one. She's like, I actually think it'd be perfect for your skin tone to me. She's like, I think it would look really good on you, but on me it pulled so like peach or whatever. I do feel like it is such a personal thing. That's why I do think that this color would look like really beautiful on someone with darker skin too. Like I, than me, but I do think for my pale girlies specifically, your perfect neutral color. Yeah. Your neutral nail. That is a journey. It is a journey. Yeah. I'm glad you've reached your destination. Thank you. Two coats, baby girl. That is also, you can mix and match. You can. There's like, you can put on the, the bubble bunny. What is the bubble bath and, and funny bunny. Yes. That's everyone's favorite. one coat of the combo but also yeah you can like dilute which I've never done like technically I'm like maybe I could like even dilute this a little more so it's even more sheer which I've never tried but yeah I'm happy with this so far nice there's so many different things you can do with nails so many different techniques okay my next one which is both of ours which we briefly mentioned but he did Rivalry is one of my favorites this month finished it JC was begging me to finish it forever. And I was having to take it like episode by episode because again, I'm trying to go to bed on time. But also I would have to say it for the weekend because I'm like, I know I'm going to want to watch like two episodes at a time and I can't do that. Otherwise, I'm going to bed at midnight every night during the weekday. So I finally finished it and I was sobbing. Don't want to give spoilers. I'm sure everybody has seen it. It's like such a popular show right now. But for good reason. I love when that happens when both of those cutie boys, those actors and the characters Just like, I just love it. It's a gay love story if you haven't. Yeah, if you haven't heard of it or watched it. Yeah, or haven't watched it. Yeah. It's so just sweet. And watching the whole thing, I really felt like I loved it more as the episodes went on because it like really came just full circle. No, no pun intended. It like at the beginning, even when it didn't stop. Even when it swapped to the other couple, it's kind of like, wait, what's going on? And then the way it just like all rounds out was beautiful. Yeah, there were so many precious moments. I love those boys so much. Their press tour has been amazing. Yeah. They are so genuine and just I love every interview they have or every they're just so fresh and just so like the best energy. I love Connor, who played Ilya, learned Russian for that part. I'm sure again, I'm sure everyone knows this, but he learned Russian for that part. And just when I was seeing interviews of him after, I really feel like his career is going to be so massive. I just feel like he truly embodied that character so well. I was such a good actor. Like I didn't know him before. And I was shocked when I saw an interview with him and he was just, and he was not Russian and he was not that vibe. I was like, his voice was like completely different. He seriously embodied a full other character. because a lot of actors and actresses, they're really good at playing like a certain character. Yes. And that's kind of like their range where it's like they, and they kind of play themselves almost in a way. But to be able to play somebody who's so opposite of you in terms of like literally from a different country, a different accent, his demeanor too. He's like in the show. He's obviously a little rough around the edges and he's just like a little bit more, I don't know, like blunt, I guess. I don't know. And then in person, he's so bubbly, so talkative, like so giggly and smiley. Yeah, smiley. It was so opposite. Yes. No, I was so impressed. And I just was like, okay, he's going to pop off. Like, I mean, everyone was great, truly. But like, I feel like that aspect of it was so impressive to me. He was talking about how he would train with a dialect coach for four hours a day. They would get skating lessons because they didn't literally know how to skate. It's crazy. And they were playing hockey players, professional hockey players. So anyway, it was just, yeah, everything and more. Love, love, love. one of my New Year's resolutions last year and continuing to this year is to stay hydrated. Okay, this is a Substack article that truly when I came across it, I was like, this information should not be free. Like I was just, I feel that way about almost every Substack article I read. It's so good. It's so good. So do you know who Steph Robinson is? She does a lot of, I actually need to follow her on other things like Instagram and stuff. I just recently followed her on Substack and I feel like she's very wellness-y. Like she does a lot of food stuff. Let me go to it. So it's called Steph's Substack. I do feel like she has a lot of kind of like viral posts, but the one that I'm referring to, to give you context for like posts that she will do, it'll be like Steph's August Diaries, wellness recipes and beauty I'm obsessed with, easy summer meals for your hormones and gut health. Like, that's kind of her vibe. She's like, everything I've been cooking lately, cozy, delicious, and hormone-friendly fall recipes. Like, that's the vibe, okay? Love. I think she has one that you can pay for that's even more in-depth. But anyway, she shares recipes, lifestyle, nutrition, stuff. This specific one is called 30 Things I Learned at European Cooking School That Changed the Way I Cook Forever. Oh, I read that. You did? Yes. These tips, I was like, okay, this is so good to know. and they were very niche and specific. Like how often you should sharpen your knives. Yes. How to see if meat is done. Yes. Seasoning. Seasoning. Just things that I'm like, okay, obviously I'm the worst cook of all time. So like I'm a dummy in this way, but just hearing these tips, they felt very practical. And like, I don't know, all of them at once is a bit much. Like you can't obviously just, just little tips to like let proteins rest before cooking. Like on the counter for 30 minutes, it's going to allow them to like cook more evenly. Just things that I'm like, I wouldn't know that because I don't cook that often. Not overcooking your veggies. Add salt after cooking the vegetables. I've been remembering that one because I used to season things before. And that one has been sticking out to me where it's like, you don't want to. Yeah, you want to do it near the end. And she explains why, too. Like how you can enhance flavors with acidity. Use cold butter for baking, which my mom has taught me as well. But like tear your herb. Wait, cold. Cold butter. Instead of room temperature? No, not instead of room temperature, but it says like to grate butter using a cheese grater instead of cubing it. Sorry, that's what I was thinking that my mom told me to do because it helps the butter incorporate faster and it makes like flakier pastries and stuff. So like most people, when it calls for cold butter, they'll just cut it up and throw it in. But if you use a cheese grater, it like incorporates and makes it like fluffier and flakier or whatever. But those are the types of things. Like my mom knows that because she's been baking for her whole life. But I don't know. It just was so... The fresh herbs thing too, it was saying like tear, don't chop them. Just things like that, that I was like, this information is so valuable and it's literally just on a free Substack article. Like this is so good. No, I love that one too. That's so funny. That's one that stuck out to me. Yeah, obsessed. And I've been remembering in my brain. I love Substack. Me too. Definitely a favorite these days. My next favorite is one of... I love seeing people's... This is not the favorite, but I love seeing people's things that are empty that they've like emptied basically. So, you know, whether it's like a face moisturizer or a hand cream or something, it's like they'll, they've used the entire product. Yeah. And one of my empties is, it's called Juna Nightcap Gummies. Our friend Kate told us about them. They are, they have GABA, which I love. And they are plant-based. I think it's plant-based melatonin. It has some kind of melatonin in it, but it's a lighter dose. So it's not like a heavy duty melatonin that you take. And I have loved it because I've tried to take like melatonin gummies before. And I feel like, yes, they work and they, but they like almost knock me out. And then I wake up in the morning kind of groggy. This is the perfect amount. I am literally obsessed with them. I just ordered a new bottle of, of that or a little container of them. And I also just love to take a little gummy at night. And it's like a good brand where it's, you know, plant-based and good ingredients and all that stuff too. So if you're looking for a little, yeah, if you're looking for a little nightcap gummy, that's just, you know, I love the ritual of taking it. And I also love the amount that it gives me of relaxation where I feel like I've been sleeping a lot better. Like I feel like I sleep through the night, but I don't wake up like so groggy and confused as to where I am. Okay. Love that. Need the link immediately and not Not kidding. Okay, I took the Kim K masterclass. Ooh. It's all about business. And if that woman does one thing, she inspires you to get your ass up and work. Now, doesn't she? Yeah, she does. Because that's kind of how I was feeling. Like, honestly, there wasn't anything in there super, I don't know, groundbreaking or something that I wasn't expecting her to say or like, oh, wow, I'm really taking notes. I just felt like the energy of it was very inspiring and motivating to listen to. And just her work ethic has always inspired me. And just the way that she will pivot, like if something fails and stuff like that. And how she kind of just like gets up repeatedly and reinvents herself and does things that she's passionate about. And about how Skims also really was created out of like a problem that she saw with shapewear. and how she wanted to make her own product that kind of reinvented the wheel. And I feel like she really did do that. And that's very inspiring. You know, she was just talking about how she would wear shapewear literally around the house and people would be like, sorry, what are you wearing? And she wanted to like create a brand where... That was acceptable. Yeah, that was acceptable and cool. And so anyway, just kind of learning about her journey a little bit more in depth with Skims and how she created it and why and just like her kind of history was really cool and inspiring. And I feel like if you're a business owner or a content creator or someone, anyone who even just enjoys hearing about the, it was her 10 commandments is what they called it. So it's like, these are the things to do if you're wanting to start a brand or anything like that. And yeah, I thought it was just a good little, a good little pick me up. I love a masterclass. If you're needing some motivation, yeah. Loved. That's amazing. I need to watch that one. I want to watch Kris Jenner's too. Same. I haven't actually watched hers and it's been on my list. There's a lot of good masterclasses that I want to watch. Yeah. They're a good use of your time. That kind of feels the same to me as Substack, where I feel always rejuvenated after and like I learned something and it was a valuable, you know, time spend for me. Yes, definitely. Every time I'm so inspired by it. Okay. The last one I'll talk about for now is how I am this month focusing on making my lazy clothes the ones that I put effort in to making align with me a priority. Like I am making it a priority to align my lazy clothes with who I am and my personal style more than the going out clothes. Because I think that people will do the opposite. They'll like be like, oh, this really nice blouse. Like, and I do this. This is what I'm saying. Like, I will, you know, buy a dress or buy a top that I'm like, this speaks to me. This is who I am. This is like my essence. I want to dress to my essence. I want to dress like how I save on my Pinterest boards, you know. You wear it like once a month. Yes. I wear it once a month. Then it does. And it does align with me and it's fun to wear out and whatever. But what I've been noticing, and we were kind of talking about this at the vision boarding night, and it's kind of all coming together because I had been thinking about this earlier. I was going to reply to his either comment or maybe I kind of posted about it on my story. I can't even remember if I actually ended up posting or if I was like going on. I was like, I'll just save for the podcast. It's like your lazy clothes or your lounge clothes. I will be wearing just like I'll throw on a set that I'm just like or like pants and a shirt that I just throw on because it's comfy. And I'm walking around the house and I'm that's what I'm in in the morning, at night, like on the weekends. And that's what I'm wearing all the time. And that is almost what I'm wearing more than my other clothes. So that is what I need to be focusing on. That's like, that is what I want to feel like is representing who I am on the inside. Yes. So I want to, instead of just being like, well, I'll just throw this because I'll get this thing because it's comfy and I can throw it on. It's like, well, why don't I get something that I love that feels like it's, it shows my personal style. But it doesn't have to be jeans and a blouse. Like it can be a set like even like this Sonderhouse set is like a great example. It's good quality. It's a cool structure. Like it's unique. It it just something that gives a little extra effort to but I would throw it on It feels like pajamas but it looks or not even it doesn even have to look more elevated Just feels a little bit Yeah More aligned Yeah. So for, if you're trying to, everyone always wants to have like a capsule wardrobe. So I feel like the reason I was kind of clicking to me, I'm like the reason I never feel like I have like a capsule wardrobe where I feel like everything in my closet aligns with me is because I have these random little naggy things in my closet that I'm like, well, I'll just keep that. because I'll just throw it on for this. Yeah. It's like, but I could throw something else on. Like, why do I have to throw that on if I don't like it? If I feel like I would be, I wouldn't just go out in it. So I've been trying to, and I did say this on my stories, like I, when I'm home for the day and people did roast me, I was saying like, I usually will throw on a white t-shirt or like a black, just like a plain t-shirt and jeans or pants or something that I could just get up and go. I don't want to be stuck and be like, oh, we want to go somewhere. I want to take the kids to the park. Yeah, now I got to go change it. going back to the timeliness thing that we were talking about in the last episode, then that takes me an extra 15 minutes. And now all of a sudden, it's going to take us an hour to get to the park. Why did people roast you for that? Were there jeans in the house? Oh, me actually just a few months ago. No, but they were, they're like the pants in the house. That's crazy. But during the day. Not if they're comfy. Yeah. And during the day, like obviously I'm not like going to bed in them. Yeah. Just during the day when I'm like around my house, if they're comfy, and that's the thing. It's like focus on comfort. or what is important to you. Yes, like what you come, a lot of people come home from school or work and they throw on that thing where it's like those comfy pants, those comfy shirt. Focus on those before you start being like, well, I need a good pair of going out dress. Yeah, I need a good, you know, top that I can, whatever, like a jacket. It's like, yes, those are things are great. But I feel like what you are in most of the time are lounge or PJs. And it's like you, all you need is like two good PJ sets and they can be on rotation. No, it's true. And you just wash the other one or like whatever, like you can re-wear them. Like you don't need to get a lot, but you can have good quality pieces that you can go to the thrift store and get like a really good white structured tee and just keep that and wear that over and over again. Newsflash, you can wear your clothes over and over again. Alison Bornstein did a recent Substack article about, that was really good, about just adding stuff to your outfit. Like she basically showed how if you just switch out one aspect of your outfit every day for a week, like you literally have seven different outfits. It's like, it was kind of neutral like that where it was like a white tee and jeans and like pointy-toed boots. But then the next day, it's like sneakers and a different pair of earrings and like whatever. She was just kind of showing how you can mix and match. And I did have a crash out recently when I went through all my stuff. And I was realizing, I was trying to understand the common denominator between everything I was getting rid of. Not that there was like one specific, but a lot of the stuff that I got rid of was colorful. And I was like having a crisis because I'm like, wait, I thought I liked color. Like I thought that I valued color being in my wardrobe. Why is everything in this pile? Like pink, purple, red. Like it was just stuff that I'm like, wait. And it was, I'm still like trying to understand and unpack that because I do, I'm like wearing blue today. And it's like, this is one of my favorites, honestly. this gravier fleece zip up is everything to me. There are different colors that I definitely am drawn to, but I guess maybe when it does feel like it's a bright color and I've worn it like 10 times, I just get over it or something. Whereas the neutrals like are just more tried and true. I don't know what it is. And I think I've been realizing maybe I like a more neutral base with like colorful accessories is kind of more of my vibe or something. Still trying to figure out that aspect. But to your point, I went through and got a few new pajama sets from Gap. Love Gap. And they're like cash soft collection is so good. I hesitate sharing because I don't know the last time I because some people were asking in my little like waking up early series or what pajamas I was wearing. And it was those sets. They're kind of like waffly material, like t-shirts and shorts that I've been wearing to bed. And I anyway, they always go on major sale. It'll be like already on sale. And then it'll be like, and I did an additional 50% off when you check out. So they're, they're way more affordable, but because of that, they sell out, sell out really fast. And they're like not ever in stock, I feel like. So I was able to get, I got like three different sets that I've been wearing. But to your point, that has even made me feel more just like put together because it's just, I guess, because it's new. Number one, I feel like a lot of my pajamas were just feeling raggedy. I'm like, I have had these for years. They're like mismatched at this point. I'm super specific about what I actually sleep in because I don't like to sleep in long sleeves. I can do pants depending on the time of year. Like in winter, sometimes I can, but I also don't like a tank top usually because I feel like my shoulders get cold. So I'm so specific. And these to me kind of filled that need where it's like the perfect. It's also if a shirt is too baggy, then it gets like caught when I roll over. That bothers me. So these were like the perfect situation. If you want to go look on Gap's website, be my guest. Hopefully they still have some. But yeah, that was actually my last favorite that I wanted to share is these Gap pajama sets because they had just some kind of like pointelle cute, like white little t-shirt and shorts, like a little striped light blue and white. They're all like kind of neutral. I got one that's just like cream. Anyway, loving them. Yeah. I feel like it's a good thing to, you know, if you, it's not that you have to go do that right now, everybody. But if you're, if you're feeling stuck with your personal style and you are, you know, on the side of social media where it's like making a capsule wardrobe, you're like into that. You want to, you want to build a closet that's going to last you a long time. You want to build a closet that you feel like reflects who you are on the inside. You want to feel presentable to yourself, that's a better place to start, in my opinion, than even just with like what you wear out and about. Because that's great. And like, obviously, you want to do that too. But for yourself, you want to feel like that to yourself. You're around the house, lounge clothes, your pajamas, like you want those to also align. Yes, 100%. Yeah, definitely. I agree with that. I was feeling that way about definitely. I still do feel that way about like my sweat set vibes where, Or again, I'll just like lose stuff over the years or whatever. And I won't have like matching or not that it always has to match. But like, or you know what's been lately my realization is because I'm short. I have multiple sweat sets, like things that I always throw on because they are comfy that are this much too long. Yeah. And then it's overstimulating. And it bothers me so much. I'm like, okay, I have to either get rid of this or get it tailored like immediately. Because I want to wear this. I'm drawn to it. But then every single time I realized it's way too long and it's so annoying to wear, but it just sits in my closet and I'm like, okay, I need to tailor or get rid of. That's what I did when I did my closet clean out. I took some pants to the tailor that I was like, no, I like these. They're just way too long. That's the issue. Yeah. And not to plug our own, you know, stuff, but our set that we created, that stripe set, really inspired that for me because I have been wearing it every single day. Genuinely every day. And it speaks to me in so many different ways. I feel like when I throw it on, I'm like, this is so comfortable. I love the structure of it. I love everything about it. It's so soft. It's so comfortable. And it's durable. Like I can wear it out and about. I can wear it inside. It's like comfy enough to sit. It's just, I just like it. I don't know how else to explain it besides. So that made me think of that where I'm like, okay, I need to. Also not dragging on the ground for our short girlies. Yes. Yeah. It just fits great. No, I'm obsessed with. Also with shoes. I feel like my, I'm wearing red hunter boots right now, but I also feel that way when I started posting about those brown Burks a couple of years ago, that is the icon of our generation. Yeah. I'm like, and it's still rolling in now, but that those brown Burks, that's the principle of like, okay, the thing that you're going to be wearing the most, that's what you need to focus on of like, that is so cute to me. Like as simple as that, like, I love the way that they look. I love the way that it makes my every single outfit I wear look when I'm throwing it on to go do something around the house. If I'm going outside, if I'm just like running a quick errand, whatever. That's what I have been noticing makes a big difference. And like with my hunter boots, I have a pair of black ones that I actually wore into the ground that I would be able to throw on. Like if I'm going to the grocery store or something and I feel so cute in them. I feel I'm not just like, oh, gosh, I hope no one sees me. Like, you know, that's the vibe I'm staying away from is like I want to feel cute and put together. when I'm throwing something on for a quick little thing. And it's made a big difference. So. The two out of three rule helps with that too. Yeah. Wait, is outfit one of the things? Hair and makeup outfit, right? Yeah. Because if your whole closet is stuff that you actually like, then that part of, that third of the equation is already taken care of for you. Can I tell you something though? Having only my hair and makeup done in a bad outfit sounds like hell to me. Yeah. That makes me feel like I'm ready for a dance recital and like I'm a clown. Yeah. Well, that's, that's why you got to have the outfit on lock or the closet on lock. One out of two. And then just one out of the two. That's my preference. Like, as you're saying that, I just thought about like, okay, what if I just did my makeup and hair and then I hate my outfit? That's giving like, I got ready and I, there's a fire and I had to run out of my house. That definitely is true. And I pretty, now that you're saying that, it's like very rare that I would. Yeah, it's normally the outfit and then either I'm just like no makeup or yeah, it didn't do my hair. Like it's one of the two. Yeah. But yeah, that problem gets solved. Love. I watched this movie, you guys, Begonia. Ever heard of it? No. With Emma Stone. It's newer. It's recent. So here's the thing. We know we've been watching more movies lately. Leif and I decided to have a little movie night. we were going to watch Sinners. And he's like, I didn't realize you'd want to watch a horror movie tonight. I said, it's a Tuesday night, by the way. I'm like, horror? He's like, yeah, it's a horror movie. I'm like, sorry, no. I'm not watching it right before bed. Like, I just, you know me, I can't do it. Yeah. So I was like, I don't want to watch. On one streaming service, it said it was an action drama. And then on the other, it said horror. Have you watched it yet? No. Forgot. Okay. So. I knew it was like kind of scary though. Yeah. I didn't realize that. I did know it was like... Not scary, but maybe like... Dark? I haven't seen it. Yeah. I didn't... I guess I just didn't realize it was that type of movie. And I was like, I cannot do that. So we were looking at different trailers. And this is like Leif hates when I can't make a decision about a movie. And that's kind of how I get. Like, we'll watch literally 10 trailers and I like can't decide. And then at that point, it's been like an hour and we're too tired to even watch it. So he was basically just like, okay, just pick one. and we watched the trailer for Begonia. And I was like, well, I love my Queen Emma Stone. It was a thriller though. So I was like, well, that could be kind of scary, but it's not horror. So let's watch that one tonight. So we watched it. When I tell you this movie was so horrifying that it was probably scarier than the horror film, number one. Yeah. But it was very interesting and it felt like a plot that I like just hadn't seen recently. so it's about this Emma Stone she's this CEO of a big company and she's like a businesswoman and these two guys that are conspiracy theorists kidnap her because they think she's an alien oh okay I know what you're talking about yeah because they think she's an alien and she like wakes up in the literally in their basement and it's just about that so it's about her trying to escape and like you know someone coming over to look for her and it's this whole thing. And it was just like, took so many twists and turns. It was so interesting. I feel like, honestly, it was kind of dark and like scary in there. Anyway, but it's just, the thing that keeps coming to my mind is just interesting. Like it felt like kind of inventive and just cool. And the way that it was shot, like at the beginning, I was just like, I'm obsessed with these colors, these vibes, these, the aspect ratio, the way that the whole thing was shot was just super interesting. I don't know. Just artsy and cool. So that aspect of it to me too, I was paying attention to at the beginning and Leif and I were like geeking out over that part of it. So anyway. That's cool. Yeah, it was a good one. Like I would recommend it, especially if you're down to watch something a little weird and dark. A little thrilling, yeah. Like there were a few moments where I had to look away. A psychological thriller? Oh. Because I was like, ooh. But yeah, afterwards I was like, oh, this is actually horrifying. Like this is, I don't even know if Sinners is... that same energy that we watched. It was just funny because I didn't want to watch something scary. So we watched that and I was like, scarier. Yeah. Yeah. I know. Yeah. I want to watch that. That sounds good. I also want to watch Sinners very badly. Yeah. I, we watched Little Women too. So good. So good. We hadn't seen it. And it made me want to wallpaper my entire house. We were just talking about the colors and all of the quality of the items that they had. I was like, I want that but without like with modern medicine with women's rights yes with all of these like but I want how they're everything they have like the linens just I know their serve wear just everything is just so gorgeous their homes were like so full of light cozy yes so cozy yes oh and everything's like on display like nothing's curated like the perfect shelf no it's like everything is just like tells a story so good I genuinely that night was looking up wallpaper I'm like, I'm wallpapering my entire house. That's so funny you say that because I wonder if that's what was like sparking the motivation because my guest room is wallpapered, only one wall. Yeah. And I think I'm going to wallpaper the whole room plus the ceiling like with the same wallpaper. No, you should. But I've been scared because it's a very busy print. So I'm like, is that going to be insane? No, I love it. But yeah, lately when I see something that I like, I'm like, that is the common denominator is that the whole room, like even if it feels busy it like kind of just like is encompassing and feels cozy or like in Benny's room like we paint her room is wallpapered and then we painted the ceiling and even that aspect I'm like painting the ceiling light pink it's so pale it makes the biggest difference it feels like so cozy in there so I've been having the feminine urge to like paint and wallpaper also my whole house like even to me I'm also like I'm so dumb because why did I spend so much money smooth texturing and painting my whole house white? And now I don't even care that it's smooth textured because I want to put wallpaper. Like Benny's whole room's wallpapered. My guest room is now going to be all wallpapered. But that's better if it's smooth, right? Wallpaper goes on better on like smooth texture. Probably. But I just feel like if they take it off, like they might have to re-smooth it. I'm just like, yeah. Yeah. I mean, I only knew what I knew at the time. And I also am trying. Yeah, I haven't watched Little Women yet. Exactly. I'm also trying not to go too, like, cottage grandma. Because I do feel like that is a trend right now. And I don't want to go too crazy with it. And, like, in a year be like, okay, that's, I don't know. Yeah, I wish I hadn't. So I'm trying to, you know, gauge what really is something that I'm like, no, I am so drawn to this. Yeah, but, like, it has to be something. Yeah. That's the hard part. I know. It's like it has to be something. There's always something. You have to have some walls, like, and they have to be something. They're either white or something else. Right. And white isn't inspiring me right now. So it's what it is. That is a good idea to paint the wall, paint the ceiling, though, because the rooms that I have that I have my office, that's like completely limewashed blue ceiling, everything. And Nick kept being like, we're not painting the ceiling. That's like such a pain. and I was like, I swear it won't look good if the ceiling is not painted. And so when we painted our room and the office, we did the ceiling, but when we wallpapered Kaysen Elwood's room it was like all wallpaper. But you saying that was making me think I should paint the ceiling. Maybe, or you could wallpaper it too. But it's stripes. So I feel like it won't light up, you know? If you wallpapered it? Yeah, because the stripes could only go one way. I would need to see a wallpapered ceiling stripe because I'm also picturing it could look kind of like boxy. I would have to see it. Because like if, imagine this room, the stripes are going this way, then on the sides, they wouldn't like be continuing. Oh, that makes sense. Right. Yeah. You could paint it. So painting feels like the only option. Or even a dark color. Maybe depending on the same color. The vibes. Anyways. Well, no one cares, but. Thanks guys for listening to our January favorites.
