Nobody ever wants to hear about anybody's dream. Nobody's listening to this. I was listening to this. Last, so I had a bad night's sleep last night for the first time in a long time. Whatever reason, every hour, I just woke up. Like every hour. And I kept thinking it was like way, you know, later than it was. And I was actually getting sleep. I wasn't. I was like, low testosterone. Is that what it is? Proven? I'm just assuming. So I was just like, it could be unrelated. I was like, what is going on here? And then in like the wee hours of the morning, I suddenly have a vivid, very real dream that lasted a while. That Troy, they were back in your face. That was a nightmare. That was a nightmare. That was a nightmare. It was a nightmare. Do we remember the bag of 20 to 26? That was crazy. The bag of 20 to 26. The bag heard around the world. So what did I do to you? You. What did I do to you? You know you did something. Composed a concert. It was a musical concert, not like a musical. It was like Delta Green. It was bizarre. And so we were all going. We were all going and I was super suspicious. I was just like, you know, he's got his hands in too many pots. Like what the f***? Would you just focus on what you're doing? And I go in with like this whole crowd and stuff. It was like so good. And I was actually mad when I woke up that like I couldn't remember the music. Because someone was like piano music and so it was really good. But then someone was like, I thought music like kind of like DJ mixed up. That's my style. And I was just like, I was like, how does he do it? Right? That's the whole dream. I think I know what it was. So. So. So. Alright. So that's the dream. Alright. So. Alright. So that's the dream. And I remembered waking up being like, I wish I remembered some of that music. It was so good, but I couldn't remember it. So I get showered and I'm just getting ready to go. And this is before my wife is getting up, she's like just starting it up. And she's like, I just did not sleep last night. And I'm like, me neither. I was like, up every hour. And she's like, yeah, so was I blah, blah, blah. And I'm like, the weirdest dream, the Troy was a composer. And I went to like see a concert blah, blah, blah. And she's like, what? Come on. And she dreamed that an old friend of hers from a former job had composed a musical concert and was and she was going to that concert. I thought it would have been a weirder if she was like, I couldn't say it. And I just couldn't sleep from that concert we went to the Troy put off. I'd be like, I just like run out of it. I just wake up again. And I'm like, next to you in bed, what's wrong? No. That's a true story. Is that a crazy dream again? You know what I'm thinking though? There had to have been a sound in the real world. Like there had your neighbor something had, there had to have been like news. Someone was playing cum dancing next door at 3.30 in the morning. A car driving by. Condons. Around your block. Did you guys watch a show about concerts? No, we literally watched Fantastic Four last night. Is there a concert? No, there's no music any good? There's no concert. Music's fine. The music and the music. How? Were you guys like holding hands in bed laying like perfectly aligned so that you like shared a dream like you? No, no. No, no. No, no. No, no, no. We're going to do it. No, no, no. One day, the two soon. You are both going to a show tonight. Yes, we are. We do a new show tonight. So it was part of your collective unconscious. They're really excited. Now we're recording this foundry. We're recording this ahead of time. So I don't know the exact details, but they're really excited about what they call internally. V 14. Oh, so I think we're playing on version 13 of North Foundry and each like full numbered, yeah, like version. It's like a major update. Lots of changes and stuff like that. And so this is either out now or coming soon or in a semi stable version. So like if you're playing foundry, if you're using foundry now, look into maybe upgrading to 14 because apparently there's going to be a bunch of amazing stuff. There's a whole bunch of new lighting, animation stuff, which like really lets you dress up a map. And I know they're doing multi-tier, like multi-level dungeons and connecting dungeons as a single scene. So you know how you like you build a scene. And if you go to the second floor, like you have to have a new scene. So they're doing interlinked single scenes in the month map. And we'll pull you guys move to a staircase and immediately watch it. Yeah. And so different players can see different levels of a dungeon. If somebody falls through a trap, right? And you're like, boom, you're on the next level of the dungeon. You know, as the jam, you know, to be like, all right, let me move you to a different scene and you know, et cetera. It's all like connected. Anyway, that's cool. That's one of two of among I think many different features, but very cool. Keep an eye out for V 14. Well, I will say we are. We have been playing in theater of the mind thus far for the past couple of months. But stay tuned. It's not always going to be that way. Okay. Good to know. But however, a lot has happened in the past couple of apps. And now you're in the shit. Matthew, want to tell us what happened last week to set up this role for a niche of them. So the tip of my tongue. It's last week we entered into this cave system by the river by the Phoenix river. Yes. Mr. Squiggle pants was the working title. Was it named that somebody gave somebody through that out that we all just quietly let we all drift into the nice mess. I said denial. We were that's right or the Nile River or denial denial. Also fun. Yeah. Phoenix river. So we descend into the cave. It leads us down. We eventually reach a juncture. Go left or right. I believe it was at that point we fought some large spiders. We quickly dispatched with them. And then we went to the left. We discovered a room that had a kind of concavity at the center and Saint tossed a rock down and that basically it fell through. It was like a sh. And then the whole thing started to crack and there was like a 90 foot drop into nothing. That's a single action. And you had to walk along the ledges. I love that visually. And it was a trap to clear that it seemed that as if we assume the werewolf had set because there were mounds of clothes set on the outside of the walls. They almost look like children. So we got there, realized it was a trap turned back, went down the other junction. We found a passage that narrowed narrowed and then Regina, who has been getting increasingly passive aggressive with us for not taking her straight home, understandable. Not in a bad way. But she, her kind of claustrophobic took over and she had a panic attack. So she and Corvon went back into the chamber before and we proceeded with Rihon. We stepped into another chamber that opened up very wide. I believe you said there was one and one exit, the other side. We tell how big it is this. I'd say it's about 50 feet wide. And if I said something different last week, it's 50 feet in diameter or 50 feet 50 foot diameter. I guess it's not a perfect circle, but think of it roughly. You can see the other wall if you're standing on one wall. Yes, yes. Obviously your light only extends to 30 feet. I did say the ceilings were a work like just in Pathfinder. Like we have 30 feet of like bright light. And then it's going to be on it. It's like you're kind of you get the sense of an exit. Okay. So since an exit, that's that's the episode. Yeah. Senses. That's like a hitchcock. Yeah. That's a chino. Who are who are the sense of an exit? Half the man I used to be. I take a flame. Throw it at this cave. Yeah. It's not going to tell me my question. That's not telling me where Chris was also down in Phillips. Boston College is owned. Chris had no. Yeah. Sorry. I feel like we went off on a table. Yeah. That's that's kind of what we never do that. So we are. Currents. We're worried about another trap. I also forgot the you know, was that the same episode? We're saying did not check for traps at the original wherewolf cave. Oh, man. So much happens in each app. Corbin, every almost died. Yeah. Both went to zero. Both zero, both rolled for severe ongoing possibly permanent injury. And both succeeded luckily. And it could have been really bad. And that would have been on sale. But you even mentioned I think at the end of the episode, if we had an encounter that trap and possibly if I hadn't not recognized it, I never probably would have checked so thoroughly for the pit trap, which was a TPK, like a four shore would have dropped. 9d6 worth of damage. I mean, you're in a pit. Everyone takes minimum nine damage if I roll nine once. But yeah, if you're like, let's go. Go, go, go, go, go, go. Farragos down there. You have no heal. I mean, minimum nine damage for all dead. Right. Yeah. I think that would qualify though for the severe injury role. Yeah, that would be broken leg or loss an arm on the way down. So to be run, we went to the original wherewolf cave. It was trapped, but we had found it had been the two mountains had been zoomed and we were guessing it might have been the children of the original, the original children of the werewolf that she either killed herself or lost. We found one child bone that was a child. So we realized the werewolf head is is thinking ahead of us so dark. So that's where we went to the next cave. So anyway, we went to this final chamber. We kind of like we step in and kind of like tip toe along the wall, fearing again, a trap and then we looked up and we saw these a bunch of RNG golden flex in the ceiling, that then all be anxious, then reveal themselves as creatures and then we got swarmed. Yeah, they come. A ton of them come flying down at you. For his overall for initiative, I was thinking about this on the drive home. So obviously we're 11 apps in now or we will be at the end of this app. And we've had a couple rulings that I think I've, I haven't made official that we've kind of just stumbled into. Obviously we came upon the foraging rule only like an episode or two ago. And I think I think we're doing that. I think we're doing that right. I started to think like should it just anyone be able to forage? You know, like we've kind of made it where like only some of you can hunt if you have that trait or if you have a title that sort of lends itself to hunting. And I think that's right. I don't think just anybody can hunt and luck of the world. I haven't even attempted because I feel like this is not something he's ever been trained. I think that's like that's a specific skill that like our backgrounds would allow, but not necessarily anyone would. Imagine if we were caught out on like a hike somewhere, you know, a classic glass can cast like and I was like, I'm going to go hunt. I'll be back in a little bit. Yeah. What would you assume is going to happen? The odds of me walking dead. If you have trained, you can't just do it. If you saw a deer like there and you had a like a gun, you could be like, Oh, you maybe you could shoot the deer, but you could be able to like track down, find a deer. Yeah. Or a track. I also don't think you could forage though. No, I couldn't. Yeah. So we've all been surviving in this. Well, that's the thing is I feel like everyone, even at first level, as they get any intelligence, a base intelligence, you could probably forage for berries and stuff or mushrooms or yeah, whatever. Now, there's maybe a case to be made as an herbalist, the herbalist. Maybe you get advantage on that or something. The difference is that the whole beauty of those titles really should give you a little boost. It's not just like, yeah, to inform some kind of like situation abilities like maybe Matthew would get to like of something if he succeeds. Right, but that's gets double. Forager is a thing. Herbalist is different. I feel like herbalist is more tight into alchemy. It actually the memory if you remember finding poisons and things I could have chosen. Right. The way that we roll on both tables technically. Yeah, it was herbalist. Obviously they're so close, you know, intertwined. Yeah. Identifying plants and stuff. So in this world in this setting, it seems like everyone has a base opportunity to forage. Let me just say what I was going to say about foraging the differences. The stuff you forage is an actively trying to avoid you or hide from. Right. That's a big difference or kill you. Right or kill you. So I guess so much. Right. So do you have the intelligence to know is this poison or not? Everyone has one daily check to forage while traveling. Whereas hunting, it seems like right now only the two of you and maybe other NPCs or higherlings you find along the way. Because don't forget you can there might be carousing opportunities where you can bring someone into your party that I'll be forced to play who fills a role that you don't have. Someone that is like a legit hunter. And you know, you can say then you have the third opportunity to do that. And I'm still working out. I have a system behind the screen that's working on how I'm determining the hunting. But I may adapt that along the way. But anyways, we're limiting that to you two for now whereas everyone can forage. The other thing is I did it the second time, but I didn't do it the first time when you push yourself without rest. And I believe Saint and Alison failed the first time. You then went to fight or take out the cultists while they were sleeping. And I said, well, well, let's see what happens and I didn't give you any sort of mechanical or didn't come into play. But then the next time I gave you disadvantage. Yeah. So from now on, if you fail those contracts on a push, you're going to get disadvantage of physical and mental checks. And that will, you know, if you then continue to push that could get worse as we go along. But I just want to kind of put that out there now so that there is much more risk to push it. No, I want you to push and you should. I mean, that's that risk is insane. Yeah, but it should it should it should feel like the mental and physical strain of going too long. But it's something you absolutely should do because that made sense in the moment like we have to strike at night. And then we have to run. And then we got to run. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's great. So you, yeah, by the time you got back to Nell, then you were just you must have been like a zombie as you would be. If you walked for 16 hours, I was thinking about that. It was like, because you know, I recently we walked the West Island way in Scotland. And I was thinking about like at the end of like one of those day long hikes. Like I didn't fight anyone at the end of except for Samantha sister a little bit. But I didn't farewell. Right. So it makes sense. It makes it. Couldn't even match with with anyone. No. All right. would agree even if you're trying to stay alive it doesn't feel right that you just keep taking damage something yeah it has to do something so yeah two of them on you just that extra one really Well, they were all men. They had a certain going. Someone must have said you know what? I don't make this a lot of need to lift up. They have them by rope. I don't want to just hang out all day. That would just put something there. Super convenient. zipper. Yeah. Full rope. All right. zipper. You're welcome. Start packing up camp. Stop roleplaying. The torches lit. Yes. Okay. We're moving. We move towards our objective. We keep going. Checking for traps. I'm not trying to get a dress. Saint is in front. We are we doing two sources of light. I have I have got I think two torches. I need my hands. So no, I won't be doing one. No, for now. Okay. I am checking for. I think because with the light spell, we don't. Yeah. Do you have a torch on you? Yes. Unlit torch on you. Yes. I have one as well. And as long as I'm up, I can in all likelihood, possibly make a light spell happen again. Right. Okay. Okay. All right. So you've got light spell and one torch or you're just doing light. Just like stick with the one thing now. Corvine and Brione get up the stretching. Practice them with their sickle. This doesn't count towards our torch. We're going. Which is like 10 more minutes. No. Let's talk about it for me. Let's remember the torches game time and not real time. That's right. All right. So the torch is real time. Real time. Yeah. All right. So 45 minutes later, you ready to leave and you make your way towards the leisurely breakfast. Try it. For omelets, you make your way towards the one one way out. The one way fun way out. It'd be very interesting. And I'll think about this. How far are you actually traveling? Is there a dude trying to travel all the way back? I shouldn't even say this a lot. Let's forget that. So you've been traveling for a while. And this next portion of the cavern takes you even deeper. And now you're at the point where you don't know if you're going up, down, left, right. You've lost all sense of direction because of the twists and turns. You haven't had to deal with any more like super thin moments. In fact, at a certain point, the cave system begins to feel almost too orderly at a certain point. You're going deeper in and everything. Like something dug this. Yeah, it just seems like maybe this cave formation formed around something at a certain point. It just the rooms have a certain shape to them, even though the walls are all rocky and one. And then eventually you get into a space that strikes you because as your light shines along the walls, you notice almost like peeking through this uninterrupted rock on the walls, remnants of what looks like an old stone column. And it's in ruins. It's sort of like hune at the top. But very clearly, it looks like there must have been a pillar here that held up a ceiling that is no longer there. And as you're taking this in, you see a figure on the other side of the room, deeper within the chamber, just standing there, motionless. Roll for initiative. Okay. Oh, so note. Roll for initiative. Talking will start after initiative. 13. I almost think I should use a cap to reroll, but no. You got a 13. Okay. 9. 2. 2. What do you do, Faroe? Faroe is going to raise his crossbow. And say, who goes there? The extent of your light spell just barely spills on this figure. It doesn't respond. I'm sorry. Humanoid? Humanoid. Humanishesize? Humano smaller. Smaller. It doesn't respond. It doesn't move towards you. It just stays there, backlit. Almost like you were. Is it a statue? The lights were off. Is it a statue? Is it moving? It's not moving. You approach? Yeah, I'm going to get just close enough that I can fully bathe it in full light. Faroe breaks from the pack, slowly inches forward, the light spilling from your crossbow in every direction until dim light reveals a stone statue, the dwarf. Great holes for Eduardo Doth. Let's see. Say. Saint will follow Faroe when he walks forward. Bo raised, but then lowers it a little bit as we see that it's an animate and not a human. But then Saint will also immediately spin around and look around to see if this is some sort of trap. Look for like any sign of a trap, anything that you could walk into or lead the party into. You don't see anything. And as we get closer to the statue, does it look preserved? Water has sort of worn its surface away. The moisture in here has worn its surface away so that its features are not completely distinguishable, but you can see that it's like... It's facing us. Yeah, it's facing you. And it's right near sort of the exit out of this chamber. Yeah, out of this chamber. Like on one side of what might have been a passageway or something, but there's nothing on the other side. And you do see that it's like a male dwarf, dwarf in figure, wearing armor and clothing, the likes of which you've never seen. The kill quietly, but call back to the group and say, it's a statue. Waves. Is it trapped? No. And he's kind of looking around. It doesn't feel unsafe now. He's like, no. I think this used to be... I don't know. A hall, a town, a city. A city of the duores. A deep city. Now listen, I also want to look around for a secret, jambers, hiding spots, both for treasure. You end for the missing children. Frag. All right, so you explore the room a little bit more. And you see like... They call flagstones. With flagstones on the floor. On the floor ground? Yeah. You see like one or two flagstones that are just sort of... Like randomly throughout the room. Two of them. Like there used to be like a great floor here or something, but all that remains. But these two fossils essentially of remnants. Or remnants of what a pop-up hall. So there are remnants fossils. You know fossils isn't the right word, but that's how old it feels. Like this is like a remnant of a time-long past. Relics. You try to like stand out and look at the wide room. You can kind of picture like maybe this was once a... A great hall, but it's just this room column statue. There used to be a couple of light. Yeah, so if that's all I see, then maybe we'll... Else I'm going to urge the group forward. Okay. We actually do find some treasure. Oh! Twerven treasure. Twerven treasure. Yeah, I say treasure, but I use the term loosely. The real treasure was the twelfth and ruins we met along the way. You find this moldy like coffer. Like a wooden coffer. One side of the room. And you pop it open. And it has a 20. The equivalent of what would be 20 gold pieces. But it's there like maybe all the other and the warwick ruins on them. Oh cool. That's going to be another XP. Oh! Um, we want to mark that in the treasure. I mean, that's an item we have to carry. Yeah. I have room. I, I don't like carrying it, but we'll have to... Oh no, because what's coinage? So is it a coin? Well the coffer itself, it's moldy, but maybe someone... a collector of antiquities would be interested in it. But the gold, the these dwarven coins you could add to your... If you're not add 100 coins. You could hold on to it. But it's up to you if you want to keep the coffer, the coffer would take up a slot. I can take this. I can take that. Let's take it because I want you. I'll take the coffer. Okay. I'm up to 4 XP. Wow. Nice. Warwick. You see this statue. This ancient warrior, perhaps, Saint John warrior who... much like you may have given his life or cause. But the cause of his people, it's just staring at you across the room. What do you do? Yeah, he's going to go up and examine it. He's known quite a few dwarves, not only in the army, but also from his home. So he's, he enjoys their company and hasn't seen too many in the gloaming so far. So yeah, he comes up and looks around the ceiling and then moves closer toward the statue itself. Yeah, I guess I'll just... I'll examine, I mean, I know it's worn away from the water and stuff, but I'll look for any sort of, even if it's on the wall or the floor, any sort of name or a plate, identifier, anything that might say who this honored dwarf is. Hmm. You look and you see it at the base of this misshapen pedestal that it's sitting on very low pedestal. It looks like there might have been something that's there at one time in a language. I don't know if you know a dwarf. I actually don't recall. I don't think I do. It's one of the languages you can't take, but I don't think you took... I know, d'Orbish. Oh, yeah. Oh. So it's a little hard to fully see. But if you don't know d'Orbish, you could point it out to Saint or ask, hey, does everyone speak d'Orbish? Saint kind of waits for somebody else. I can understand it when it's being spoken, but I don't know the written language. I do. Look here, it's quite worn away, but can you read that? It might be a name, it might be hard to read, but... He kind of like feels it as he's thinking, trying to remember the d'Orbian alphabet out of context, and like what this might say. As you run your fingers along the runes that are just like almost rubbed away through time, trying to figure out what this says, making sense of the letters in your mind. And both you and Wark hear a sound like metal grinding on metal stone rubbing on stone, and you look up and it's coming from the statue. Oh. As the statue's jaw starts to move and speak. And we'll see in a while. Oh, my God. Oh, man. It's so freaking awesome. That's so cool, but why am I so scared? I know. I'm scared too. I'm scared of Troy's gravely door voice.
