One of the biggest misconceptions about buying a home right now is that you have to wait for the perfect moment. Perfect rates, perfect timing, perfect market. The truth is, that moment doesn't really exist. A lot of buyers pause because of headlines or assumptions, but every situation is different. Race change, market shift, and personal goals matter just as much as what's happening nationally. That's why talking to a local lender can be so valuable. It is hour number two, Kentucky Sports Radio, here live at Paul Miller Ford. Proud to be a trusted ally of the University of Kentucky. Seven decades in the state of Kentucky and Lexington. Paul Miller Ford, great remote. This is how you host a remote right here. You have free food, you have fresh T-shirts, you bring in players, and then you also bring in the most famous bakery in the state of Kentucky, Sissy Cakes is here. Will Stein's mother, Debbie, and your sister, Blakey, is that right? Yes. Debbie and Blakey, you all, Debbie, you appeared on this show, I guess it was, what, two months ago, just randomly. Jay and Lyndon went down there to taste the cakes, handed you the phone, and I'm going to let you go from there. From that moment, what has happened for you and for Sissy Cakes? That was quite a day. Okay. Go for it. So our business is our Sissy Cakes. We've been in business for four years, and we've been on a nice upward trajectory. But that day, after that day, it just went like a space shuttle. I mean, it was unbelievable. So thank you all very, very much. And thank you, Matt. He gets cakes for life. The whole crew. Everybody. Well, thank you. Yes, and I appreciate you. You've given us credit in the interviews, which was very nice. Yes, of course. Now, you were kind of along for all this. Did you know that when Will got hired that, like, the business was going to completely change? Well, I'm the aunt. She's the aunt. So when people come in, are you the mother? No, I'm the aunt. I'm the mother. She's the aunt. And, I mean, we were excited as a family, but I didn't dream that our business would go along for the ride. So your Internet, like people just started ordering over the Internet. Like, what are we talking? I heard it just absolutely exploded. Hundreds of orders came in. As you guys were talking about us on the radio, there were news cameras in our little kitchen. I mean, it's a little kitchen. This is not a big factory. It's a little kitchen. And my son works with us, and it kept order, order, order. We were like, hold on a minute. So I had to go shut it down. You had to shut it down because you couldn't take anymore. For weeks. For weeks. Yes. Wow. We had to catch up. So there was only so many cakes you could produce, right? Right. It's me and my sister Blakey and my oldest son Matthew. So it's the three of us. Have you thought of bringing in some extra help maybe? Well, I know. Yes. We need to. We need to go on Shark Tank apparently. I don't know. Do we need a business manager or something, an investor? I'm not trying to get that. I see you're looking at me. No, no, I promise I'm not. We do like the fact that it's the two of us. I think that's very sweet. That's what we like. So I'm just saying that a lot of people say that to us, and then we're like, okay, well, we make the cakes. It's the two of us. So your orange juice one is the one that I have just cooked. Now, can people order online now? Yes. Okay, so we're caught up. You're caught up. But the orange juice one, and now you have this blueberry one here today. So now on a mother standpoint, what's it like to have your son back home? Oh, you've got those grandkids around, right? I feel like Leanne Morgan. I know a lot of you know Leanne Morgan. When she says they're my babies, they're my babies. I mean, I just adore those babies. So I'm thrilled. My mom really likes Leanne Morgan, too. Yeah, does she? Yes. She makes me laugh so hard. So it's great having them. And now, you know, you're a listener to this show. Okay, so this is what worries me, Blake. You know, in this job sometimes I have to be critical. Oh, yeah. Matt. Hold on now. I mean, I have to be critical sometimes of the coaches. You all love me now. But if I have to say, why didn't Will do this against Florida, are you all going to get mad at me? Well, no. There's probably a very good reason why Will didn't or didn't do something. Right. Exactly. So you're going to understand. But what if I don't know that reason and then I'm critical? You're wondering. Are you going to get mad at me, Debbie? I will not. It's part of it. So I'm just going to put on my blinders. Now, do you promise me you say that? Because my mom would get mad. I don't believe that for a second. Mama Bear is going to come at you with claws out. I'm going to wake up and there's going to be somebody throwing cakes at me outside my house. No. Well, I mean, you know, he had – it's just part of the business. It's part of it. So things are not always going to be rosy. We know that he keeps saying, right, he goes, Mom, right now I'm undefeated. Yeah. Yes, this is a perfect time. This is good. This is a perfect time. Well, we've really enjoyed watching your rise. You two are so sweet. And the food is really good. And so give me a prediction, though, before you get out of here, of what in Will's first year, how good do we think we're going to be? You've got the inside scoop. Well, not really. But I know that they will put a really great product on the field. I know they will work their tail off. I know they will have a great scheme. See, I kind of got the lingo. Look at you get with the scheme. And they will be prepared. And I do love the number one goal is being connected. And I think that's going to be a big part of it this year is they're going to really fight for each other and fight for their brothers. So 10-2? Oh. Yeah. I'll take it. I'm going to quote my nephew in an interview, and people kept saying, oh, you've got to play this team, you've got to play that team. He's like, well, they've got to play us too. Yeah. That's right. So I love that. I love his confidence. I was listening to that, and I was like, you go, baby. All right, well, is it sissycakes.com? Yes. All right, it has been great to get to know you during this time, and thank you for coming out here. Everybody, a big round of applause to Debbie and Blakey. We thank you so much. We really appreciate your support and the whole crew and all of you fans. We love for you to come to our store. We love to visit and talk and get to know you. Oh, by the way, one more thing before you go. I hear Kentucky Joe comes in a lot and sings. Is that true? It is true. That is true. Twice. It is true. Is that fun? For like 45 minutes. But it's great. We dance and we sing. For 45 minutes? It's a good long visit. It's a good long visit. If you need us to call security, let me know. Thank you all very much. Thank you. Thank you. 859-280-2287. Text machine is 772-774-5254. Who's up next? Jimmy is up next. Jimmy. Go ahead, Jimmy. true hope everybody's doing well sounds like a fun time down there um a couple quick questions for you i want to first give a shout out to uh billy for getting the podcast up first nobody talks about this but as a central time zone guy this is my lunchtime entertainment most days and i just want to say thank you for getting that up so quickly so us in the uh central shannon is the one that does it uh for everything oh i'm sorry so why don't you thank me okay Thank you, Shannon. Can I please stand corrected? Thank you, Shannon. Well done. I do have a technical question I want to ask. I noticed that we don't have commercials on the post-game podcast and the pre-game podcast, or the pre-game is not podcast, and I'd like to know why. We don't post the pre-game show on podcast because we want people. Well, first of all, we consider it kind of dead when the game is over because the game has already happened. And maybe most importantly, we don't want you to see how bad our predictions were and have them recorded in time. But also, it's an incentive to get people to listen live. I mean, everything else we do, you can get podcasts. So kind of part of my, I guess, compromise with the station is that we wouldn't do that. This was for years ago that we wouldn't put the pregame up. Maybe we will at some point. But I don't like when we say something and it doesn't happen and people go, nanani, boo-boo. That seems like a fair answer. One other question or one other point for you. We've talked a lot, it seems like last week, about the Mark Pope fine that he got. I want to put something in context. If he makes about $5 million, I did the math. If somebody makes $100,000, that would be like getting the equivalency of fine of $500. It would be like getting a healthy speeding ticket. So I don't know if it's that painful for Mark to take the fine on. No, it's not painful. To go ahead and get his point out. It's not painful. I mean, I appreciate the call. I don't think you want to have a $25,000 fine. But Ryan, ultimately, he probably liked getting that off his chest about us being cheated. Yeah, that was not an accident. That was a strategic move, I think, on his part. I'm not here to push around. I'm Mark Pope, damn it. You think that's what he said? That's what he said. I'm Mark Pope, damn it. Slap the whiteboard. That would be a good T-shirt. I think that's just the SEC saying, yeah, we can't find you. Because he said, they can't find me. I think that was just them making a statement saying we can't find you. Yeah, that might have been what got him fined, Drew, was him saying they can't fined me and then SEC going, oh, yes, we can. And he didn't say they. He said the mother effers. I mean, that probably added to them a little bit as well. Yes. All right, I wanted to ask you all a little what would you do situation. Okay. All right. The Girl Scouts, you know, Girl Scouts set up cookies. They set up cookie stands to sell cookies, usually a lot of times outside of businesses, right? Right. So in this town, I believe it was in New Jersey, some capitalist Girl Scouts, they started putting their Girl Scout cookie stands in various places. And one day, without knowing what the store was, these Girl Scouts apparently walked up to a store that they saw was getting a lot of traffic and asked if they could set up outside of it. and apparently had their biggest sales day of the year. So they've now gone back a second time, and then there were complaints. They set up outside of a weed store Which if you think about it is kind of brilliant Yes it is Because the kind of person that goes to a weed store probably knows they going to want candy and cookies later on in the night get the munchies so there's been some complaints with the national girl scouts association these people the girls parents are like it's fine everybody's nice to them and they're making they're selling a lot of cookies and the national girl scouts association is going to decide monday whether or not they are allowed to set up outside of weed stores and other controversial establishments thoughts if you were in charge of the girl scout they should absolutely be allowed to do that that's no different to me than setting up outside of a liquor store i mean it's all legal would you be okay with him setting up outside of the air i mean what about a gun store as long as they're not drinking as long as they're not shooting people then yes so you're fine with a gun absolutely what about a hustler A hustler. Like one of those stores. Like the Godfather? Not a strip club, but like one of those places where you can buy that kind of thing. I mean, as long as they're not going inside. So Shannon's good with whatever. You can set up anywhere. You can set up at my house if you want to. I'll buy all the cookies. All right, what about you, Drew? I love it. I think it's very smart on their part, actually. These people are going places. I would like to invest in them as people because they clearly have good ideas that work. And this is much better than my Girl Scout experience. When Lexington was shut down, we had a Girl Scout delivery to our house. I didn't really want them getting out in the snow as it was, but they did it anyway. And I had to push them out of my neighborhood just to get my cookies. So outside of a weed store is much better than, you know, asking them to come to my house in the middle of a snowstorm. What about you? Are the Girl Scouts selling weed cookies in front of the weed store? No. Not that. No. Sand Mets and Samoas. Are they selling alcohol-related cookies in front of the alcohol store? I don't know. And I don't think they're selling guns. I get where you're going. They sell their own cookies, and if the store is okay with them being out front, then by golly, they should be able to be able to sell them out front. Wow. I expected that to be a much more controversial. Not at all. No. What do you think? I mean, I'm fine with it, but I expected some pushback from people, but I guess that's great. I think we know who's going to the weed stores. You know, that has been a major change in the last few years. We got one hamburger. The amount of my friends and people I know that if you had asked me 15 years ago if they would be asking me about weed gummies versus what it is now, it is amazing how that has changed in a very short period of time. And the new generation, they don't even care about alcohol. It's the California sober. I don't know if you all have watched. Has anybody watched the JFK, Carolyn Bissett show, JFK Jr.? First of all, I'm embarrassed, ma'am, but I kind of love it. It's complete trash. but I kind of like it is a little trashy. But you know the thing that strikes me the most when I watch it? The smoking. How much people, because it's set in the 90s, how much people are smoking, and you see in a short period of time how much things have changed. Because everyone in that show smokes. But you watch other shows, you never see anybody smoke. And in that show, everybody's smoking. And that's kind of how the 90s were, but it's amazing how much that's changed. Now those people are popping gummies, which I have no comment on. Because that woman that plays Carolyn Bessette is beautiful. But then I see her smoking, and I'm like, ugh. But then that's how they all work. 859-280-2287. We will take a break. We'll be right back here. Paul Miller Ford. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Ready for a different take on Formula One? I'm Clayton Eckerd, and in 2022, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor. Unfortunately, it didn't go according to plan. He became the first bachelor to ever have his final rose rejected. The internet turned on him. If I could press a button and rewind it all, I would. But what happened to Clayton after the show made even bigger headlines. It began as a one-night stand and ended in a courtroom, with Clayton at the center of a very strange paternity scandal. The media is here. This case has gone viral. The dating contract. Agree to date me, but I'm also suing you. Please search for it. This is unlike anything I've ever seen before. I'm Stephanie Young. This is Love Trapped. This season, an epic battle of he said, she said, and the search for accountability in a sea of lies. I have done nothing except get pregnant by the f***ing bachelor. He identified Jermaine Hudson as the perpetrator. Jermaine was sentenced to 99 years. I'm like, Lord, this can't be real. I thought it was a mistaken identity. The best lie is partial truth. For 22 years, only two people knew the truth. Until a confession changed everything. I was a monster. Listen to Burden of Guilt Season 2 on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio, 859-280-2287. We have a special guest on the phone, but before I do it, two things I've been at war against, Waymo's, right? Yes. Did you see what happened in Austin, Texas with the Waymo? Uh-oh. Anybody see this story? blocked an ambulance and they couldn't get it out of the way. The ambulance was stuck because it didn't know how to get out and they couldn't get it out and the ambulance was delayed. I don't know what happened to the person in it, but blocked it in Austin. And now even Austin regulators are like, well, what do we do about this? Imagine that. You're on your potential deathbed and a Waymo is the reason you may not live. That's how I'm going to go. You may die because of a Waymo. One of these days, and my ambulance will be blocked by a Waymo just because I don't trust those things. Second, you know I'm at war with AI, not a fan. There's a study that came out this morning that's getting a lot of attention that says if you use chat GPT for your writing and for your work things, they studied you lose 55% brain. Your brain works 55% less, which over time they think can do things like cause dementia etc so that and just within a couple hours doesn't take a long time within a couple hours your brain like goes into this mindless mode where you're not using it so just something to watch i i don't like either of those things that i got some uh good evidence today which is very scary because all of our college kids today they write their papers do their research stuff they all use ai every single one of them and their professors even know it within 20 years there'll be a study and look, I use this more than anybody, but there'll be a study that shows that these phones screw up our brain. Like, one of these days when I'm in an old folks home, you remember I said people will look at this like we look at cigarettes with the we can't believe we gave these to kids at such a young age. You wait and see. Yep. It's going to happen. I agree, but you will be saying that to the humanoid taking care of it. That may be true. Because we're not stopping it. It's already here. I understand. but I'm just saying I think that's you're not wrong just send the Waymo ambulance for me but the Waymo is going to block it then I want the automatic ambulance who's up next fake Lou Holtz is up next oh fake Lou Holtz after the passing of Lou Holtz I thought you had died and here you are appreciate you calling da da da da da da da da da da Well, this is Lou Holtz. Rumors of my demise have been greatly exacerbated, but let's talk some afterlife. Okay, let's talk some afterlife. Well, yeah, I've got a pretty sweet gig up here. I'm staying busy. I'm playing golf. All the Gatorade is green and gold, and there is one bad thing to heaven. Matt Judge, you know a bad thing about heaven? What's the bad thing about heaven, Lou Holtz? I can hear Ryan snoring from over here. Good Lord. Ryan's got that Old Testament apnea. You know why we call you Old Testament apnea? I haven't heard of Old Testament apnea, but if anybody has it, it's him. It's because he speaks in tongues when he sleeps. Mario was telling me some details yesterday. Not only do you talk in your sleep, you apparently say bizarre things. Yeah, I don't know what I'm thinking or saying. That's true when you're awake, but when you're asleep, I think it's even more true. Well, Lou, you know, you were such a regular caller on this show for years, so when I heard that you had passed, I'm really glad you decided to give us one last hello. Well, 502-571-1080. I've been on hold for 10 years on the other line. Look at you remembering the old phone number. Well, Lou, thank you very much, and rest in peace, my friend. I'm going to leave you with a serious note. If you want to be happy for an hour, eat a steak. If you want to be happy for a day, play some golf. If you want to be happy for a week, go on cruise. But if you want to be happy for a last time, you put your face in Quaker Oaks. Hashtag fiber. This has been Lou Holtz reporting live, signing off. Appreciate the call. Lou Holtz, one of our oldest fake callers. Sounds like they have great service in heaven. You know, he passed away, and people were telling stories. Scott Van Pelt told a story, Drew, I like. Did you see that? I didn't see that one. So what's the hole in Augusta? Is it 12 that you shoot it over water? Is that the hole over water in Augusta? On the corner, yeah. Yes. They said Lou Holtz was a member in Augusta, and he never wanted to hit it in the water. So he would lay up on 12 and then pitch it up and down so that he would get a par against people. I like that. You like that? It's a good move. If you know you're not going to get it there, why take shots and lose strokes? He would just lay up. A little pitching wedge getting at the front of the water? I think somebody in the Masters should do that, right? Now that would be something. You know, we used to have some great fake callers. I was just trying to think in my head. Fake Barney, fake David Beckham, fake Larry Orton, fake Lou Holtz. What happened to all those guys? Well, it's hard to get on now. I think that's probably a big part of it. Kentucky went and recruited Dink Pate. Mark Pope went and saw G-Leaguer Dink Pate play, and he was asked about it yesterday, and he said, and I love this. This is a great Mark Pope quote. He said, I'm to the point now if the NCAA says a guy can play, I'm going to go try to get him. Remember, he had expressed skepticism about doing this before. Looks like, I don't know if it means, Drew, that they're desperate or if he's just more open to it, but Dink Pate kills it in the G League, and I think if he comes here, he could be our best player next year. Yeah the tone completely changed with Mark on that I assume it desperation since they don have a player committed yet and you don know your portal options but I admit I like it I mean as you just said he go anywhere if there a guy that can come help him out where I believe at first he's a little hesitant, as many people are around college basketball. But at the end of the day, you've got to get players. Probably some desperation. I also wonder if Mitch being on his way out the door, Mitch maybe had some influence over doing that as well. I don't know. I will tell you this, and I'm not going to go with this big crowd and everybody in a good mood. I'm not going to go into it. The conversation we had in the second hour yesterday about things not smelling right and all that, I feel even more about it now. I've gotten a lot more messages since then from people. I don't know if they think this is like Watergate or something, but sending me messages. And I don't know. There's a lot we're going to look into when it's over, but I think there's a lot more to this than I thought. And I'll even go so far as to say, after having read a lot of this stuff, I don't know. I'm just going to – I feel like – It's just us. You go ahead and say it. I don't know. I feel like a lot of stuff has been put maybe on Mitch that maybe should have gone other places. And, you know, that's a conversation for the offseason. Something doesn't add up. The only thing that's added up is Mitch Barnhart's salary. Something doesn't add up. That's adding up. That is definitely going to add up. 859-280-2287. Who's next? Matt is up next. Matt, I got 30 seconds. Go ahead. Hey, guys. I'm out in my garden barefooted, getting ready to do a little daily meditation in beautiful Hyman, Kentucky. And I just wanted to say a couple things real quick. Drew, I wasn't able to call in on your birthday. 30 seconds. Do you know the meaning of your name? trustworthy. It actually, it's Greek origin. It stands for manly, I'm going to let you go, Matt. When I give people clocks, they actually mean something. We'll take a break and be right back. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. Also, for people, the OVW show where you were supposed to, Shannon fight Cash Daniel got postponed due to some permit issues. It will be rescheduled. So you got out of having to fight Cash Daniel tonight. You say permit issues. I'm going to tell you what really happened. Cash heard that I was going to be there. He called in a favor because he was so afraid of having to step into the ring with me when he realized that was going to be a reality. He's like, can we just cancel this thing or at least postpone it? Wow. You're playing Cash. Cash was scared of you. Cash is exactly what I'm saying. Interesting. I would not have thought that that was. He's a big coward, really. He looks big. Whoa. If he walked in right now, would you say that? Oh, absolutely. I'd say it right to his face. All right. I'll text him. The state of Mississippi just had going to affect a law that makes it to where NIL income is not taxed. The 3.5% state tax that everyone has to pay in Mississippi, now players who are getting NIL money will not have to pay it. Their argument as to why is there are a couple states in the SEC, I think specifically Florida, where there is no state income tax. And the Mississippi legislature said in order for us to compete with players, we're going to have to no tax. I'm going to get my quick thought. I think that's BS. Even though I love college sports, if your state decides that teachers or service workers or whoever has to be taxed, I don't know how you can justify athletes not being taxed. If everybody else that works has to be taxed, how are they not going to be taxed? If you want to just get rid of an income tax, I'm against that too, but at least it's consistent. But, like, taking the athletes separately, you know, come on now. That seems ridiculous. What about you? What do you think? I think all of us hardworking Americans are going to agree with you, but if Florida did it, Mississippi did it, Alabama will do it in 3, 2, 1. Well, that gets the question of do you think Kentucky should do it? I mean, we're competing against these same states. Do you – if Kentucky legislature put forth a bill that said no tax for athletes because of NIL trying to compete, what would you say? I don't think anybody should do it, but now that it's already happening, you know that every state is most likely going to join in because that's a huge recruiting advantage. If I'm a recruiter, I can go and not get taxed on my NIL. Why wouldn't you go there? I would. Wouldn't you? Well, I mean, it depends. I mean, I'm saying, like, if you've got one of those on your – I mean, 3% is – it's something, but I don't know. It's an advantage. Yeah. I'm against it. Just as much as I love sports, I do not know how a legislature can say a school teacher or a nurse or, you know, whatever, a person that works for a living should not be – should be taxed, but this person that plays basketball who's going to leave the state as soon as they go should not be. I just, even though I want to win, Drew, that's a step too far for me. Way too far. And if they have this bill, they should walk into an emergency room and sign it in front of nurses on their 100th in a row shift or whatever they're doing. Or as you said, teachers, name a profession. I think it's crazy you would give athletes a benefit. I mean, they're already making a lot of money, and they're in the beginning of their career. They've got plenty of life ahead of them where you have people on their last dollar chipping in on taxes. I completely agree. Now, the other case, though, is what Shannon said, which it could hurt you in recruiting. So let me just do a poll. This is a Kentucky fan poll, so it probably would lean more for this bill than the average person. How many of you would be for a bill that does not tax athletes NIL? Raise your hand. One guy. One person. How many people would be against it? That's all right. But the thing is, you're probably the one that's in the legislature. You just kind of look. I'll tell you with taxes and athletes, a lot of them need to learn how taxes work. There's a lot of stories going around since NIL of April comes around, and they're like, what do you mean I owe that? And they're like, I don't have that. And that's happening a lot of places. So this is something I think you are exactly right. So remember, these athletes are not W-2 employees. Like, they don't get tax withheld. So if they're getting $100,000, they get a check for $100,000. And unless you have somebody to tell you, hey, man, keep $37,000 of that for something else, Ryan, you might come at the end of it and you owe. You know, we're all agreeing in what you were saying right now, but let us lose a recruit to Florida, another recruit to Mississippi State, because they went to those schools for that reason. Then we take a vote. I think our vote would change. I'll never be in on that. What would your vote be? I'd say it's coming. I think every state's going to do it. But what would your vote be? My vote would be against it. I just think it's coming. College athletics is a driving force for a lot of these states, especially these schools. It's happening. So you're saying the no-tax train. The no-tax train is coming, baby. The no-tax train is coming. All right, we've got like a minute left. WSFC, you can switch over for the last 15 minutes, which will include our pick. Actually, let's say before everybody goes, real quickly, Do you think we win tomorrow? I think they – believe it or not, I think they're going to win it. It's coming down to a buzzer beater. Do you think we're going to win tomorrow? Moneyline bet for me. I wrote my prediction last night for the website. Cats 86-85. Yeah. I hate to say it with the guys that are just here, but, no, they lose tomorrow. Florida wins, unfortunately. Did you hear that? I hate to say it. Moneyline bet. Miss Marino's booing you. I hate to say it. Yeah, where is she? She's up against the wall over there. Bullshit. Sorry, Mom. Look, I'll be pulling for them, but I think they lose. You don't have to boo me. Yeah, you can boom, Matt. We win. 90-89 on a Malachi Moreno. Yeah. Another one? He's already done it once. He's getting another one. Tip in at the buzzer. We'll take a break and come back for the last 15 minutes. The women start at noon. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Be right back. Ready for a different take on Formula One? The internet turned on him. If I could press a button and rewind it, all I would. But what happened to Clayton after the show made even bigger headlines. It began as a one-night stand and ended in a courtroom, with Clayton at the center of a very strange paternity scandal. The media is here. This case has gone viral. The dating contract. This is a story about a horrendous lie that destroyed two families. Late one night, Bobby Gumpright became the victim of a random crime. He pulls the gun, tells me to lie down on the ground. It is Kentucky Sports Radio here live at Paul Miller Ford. It has been a great show here. They do service. They have cars here on New Circle Road. And I have to say, probably one of the top five put-together remotes we've ever had. So thank you all very much with all that you guys did and everybody here. Miss Kentucky, Malachi, Jasper, Sissy Cakes, barbecue. It's been wonderful. They gave us oil changes. They changed our oil during the show They just brought our keys back You should do that You know what I said Don need it Not a big oil guy Yeah You got to go another 25 It wasn my time yet Oh, another 25,000 miles before you changed it. It wasn't my time either, but if they're going to do it for free, have at it. My oil's been doing good things for me. You got another 70,000 before you need one. Text machine 772-774-5254. By the way, Alabama has also already done it. I'm not surprised. Guess what? Georgia's coming up next. The line is out for Florida-Kentucky, seven and a half. So we were close, but not quite right. We were close. I need them to unlock that money line, though. I don't want the points. I want the win. A couple quick things here before we finish with some phone calls. Let me tell you how frustrated I was. So the Reds had their only minor league game this year that was on ESPN was yesterday, and it was against the Dodgers. And so I was like, you know what? I don't have anything to do this afternoon. We had just driven back from Middlesbrough. I'm going to watch the Reds and Dodgers. Great game. We won 14-13. L.A. De La Cruz hit a home run. It was awesome. But do you remember the player that I got so frustrated at that I hated last year? Anybody remember? Santiago Espinal. Did not like Espinal. He played all the time. He stunk. Last year, Espinal hit one home run all season. All right? One home run. At times, we batted him like fifth. He hit one home run all season. yesterday, he now plays for the Dodgers. He hit two yesterday. He hit two. He hit twice as many home runs yesterday as he did all last season. He played like 100 games last season. When he hit the second one, I turned the TV off. It's spring training. Who even cares? I turned the TV off. I was so mad. I love it. I love it. It's the first week of March, and you already have first races with the Reds. Exactly. We're three weeks from a game counting, Ryan, and I'm already upset. I'm sure he was rounding the bases, too, like, that's for you, Matt Jones, MJ, in your face, eat it. It felt like it. It felt like he did that on purpose. Otani bet on him to have over one home run, so Otani was thrilled, too. Yeah. Otani's the world baseball classic. He hit – that's going on right now, too. So, also today, Donald Trump is having the College Sports Future Roundtable at the White House. The list of people attending are all the power commissioners. Ted Cruz, various people in sports, Clay Travis got the invite, which can tell you that it's very serious. But no athletes were invited. And the athletes that were invited are not coming. So like Tim Tebow, Tiger, Bryson DeChambeau, they all are not coming. So I don't expect anything to happen out of it, but it will be interesting when they come out of it to see what is said because, like we've talked about, they have got to pass some legislation here soon. It'll be at least interesting to see what comes out of it, even though I don't expect any sort of resolution. I'm surprised they don't have any athletes at all. You think they'd want some representation in some capacity, at least one from each of the Power Four conferences or something involved in that? I'm not surprised. At least Clay Travis is there, though. You're a Tennessee fan. You probably like that he's there. But if Clay Travis is there, it's going to be good. Tennessee fan wearing blue, by the way. I'm proud of my dad for not – Are you wearing blue? Look at that. Did you see that? That a boy. He's not showing off. Oh, he's got orange underwear on. Thanks for showing us, Dad. Everyone wanted to see that. Security. You know what, though? That tells you how much you love your son, that you're not wearing orange to the show. Who's up next? Adam is up next. Adam. Go ahead, Adam. Hey, what's going on, guys? What's up? I'm almost certain that AI is going to be the death of humanity. Correct. Case in point, do me a favor. One of you all, except Ryan because he doesn't have an iPhone, ask Siri, who was the first college basketball coach to win four national championships? And I'll hang up and listen. Well, I didn't come here to take homework. Yeah, it's not very good at just Googling things. Like, one time it asked, like, UK's best championship winners, and it had, like, John Wall on the 78 team. It was like, yeah, you got a little ways to go before you figure out that. Well, I liked when it said, what did the latest polls say in the Kentucky GOP Senate primary? And it had me listed as being in third. I'm not only not in the primary, I'm not a Republican. But nevertheless, it had me third. So that's when I was a little, Shannon, skeptical of what the results were. Billy got burned by AI during a pre-show contest we were doing. It was Adam Sandler booby quotes. And it had, I'm not a smart man, but I know what love is, as an Adam Sandler quote. Well, that's Forrest Gump. Exactly. That's my point. That's why you – The robots are too busy working on their weapons. They don't care about our Googling. They're like, go Google it. We're going to murder you in like 10 years. Just do your Googling. The SEC tournament starts Wednesday. We need to win to not be playing on Wednesday. What do you consider success? I saw Rob Doster say if Kentucky can get to the SEC tournament and get to Friday, they probably still will be like a six seed, which would still, I think, be really good for Kentucky. Man, Drew and I have been touting the same horn for four years. Get us at least to the weekend of the SEC tournament. Get us to Saturday, man. It's going to be hard. I don't see a chance in France now. By the way, if we lose to Florida, that almost guarantees, Drew, that we're very likely to play Florida again in the SEC tournament. If we win, we might have to play them in the quarterfinals. Yeah, and if you're playing on Wednesday, at that point you just have to win so many games in a row. By the time you get to Friday and Saturday, I mean, I worry if it's not – I mean, it will be Florida. But, I mean, you could lose to anyone at that point just because that's such a big ask. So hopefully they get the win tomorrow, can skip a Wednesday game, and then see if you can get into the weekend at SEC because I'm with Ryan. I can't call not being a part of the weekend a success. Well, let's talk about how they win tomorrow. Last game at Florida, Ryan, we got beat not even really because of their bigs. The guards got hot, hit all those threes early, got a big separation that we just never really were able to come back from. If you look at these games where we take losses, we get down big in the first half, how do we keep that from happening? You're right. Their bigs, their front court didn't really hurt us as much. They played well in the second half, but we were already behind by a while. And Malachi got in foul trouble. He was playing great early on. It was the backcourt guys that hurt us. Yeah, Xavier Lee, he had like his breakout game against us, and that one dude. And he's been good since then. He has been good since then. That was his breakout game, and he's kind of taken off since then. You know, Boogie Flan is going to do his thing, not that good of a shooter. It's those two guys, Lee and Khrushchev, or whatever his name is, the other guy that's killed him. Khrushchev, the former leader of Russia. Mikhail Grubashov. Amy Klobuchar. And also not part of the team. He did say touting a horn earlier. I'm still trying to figure that one out. I think Kentucky wins, though, by limiting second-chance points for Florida because Florida's been out-rebounding just about every team they've played. And if Colin Chandler can get hot early like he did against Vanderbilt, then I think they've got it. We have to shoot the ball well from three. I mean, there's going to be nothing we can do that stops them from scoring 80. So they're going to score 80. They might score 90, but they're definitely going to score 80. So we have to score 80. And we've talked about this, Drew. For us to get to 80, that means those guards have to have over 60 combined. Like the Aberdeen, O.A., and Chandler, they're going to have to get to 60. Because if they get to 60, then maybe some other guys can get us to 85, 90. But those dudes, probably all three of them, Drew, are going to need to have really good games for us to have a chance. Yeah, and if I'm not mistaken, they were around the mid-80s in Gainesville. I don't remember the exact score, 92-something. But I mentioned this at the beginning of the show. So if not for the start to that game, I think from like late the first half through the end it was even. I know the second half was even. So you've got to avoid that start. I know they were going under screens and letting Lee shoot. I mean, he just had open target practice. You've got to change that game plan having already let him get hot and your boy Amy Klobuchar too. You can't let those guys beat you. If the three front court players that they have are awesome beat you, you shake hands and go home. But you can't let the other dudes beat you again. I think what you have to say is, all right, they have Xavier and Lee and Boogie Flay. Lee's played well, but most of the year they've been the weakness. In my opinion, O.A. and Aberdeen have to outplay them. They have to outplay them. You do that, get Chandler to hit a few threes, and then have our bigs play to, you know, a standstill. Maybe you can get a victory. But this crowd, how many of you are going to the game? Nice. The crowd is going to be huge to me, Ryan. If the crowd is into it and you get that rocking environment like we had when we played them last year, I think that can have a huge impact. That's exactly what happened last year. That was the best crowd of the season last year, and they both teams scored over 100 points. You know, we scored 84 against A&M. We gave up in the 90s. They just got to play better defense than that they did against A&M. Kentucky's – this is not a fatigue excuse, but Kentucky's bad home games have been Tuesday nights. The Saturdays, they've been getting great crowds. You had that Vandy game last week, Tennessee a couple weeks ago, and I think 4 o'clock, that's that sweet spot where you'll have a good energetic crowd too. So I expect them, Rupp Arena, to help carry them. women's team they play south carolina starting in five minutes played them really close in uh memorial maybe could have won what do you think i think it's gonna be a close game but south carolina is one of the best teams in the country i think south carolina probably ends up winning probably south carolina but i'm gonna get in a kentucky money line parlay with south beating south carolina and florida before this tips off you had a shot to tie it at home you know you can hang with them just get over the hump today and finish the job i would like to pick uk women but Like Shannon said, South Carolina is just super good, and I think they're about to make another big run. Why are these guys so pessimistic? How about a one-two weekend where we win them both? What do we think? Yeah. That's what I just said. In a perfect world. That's right. Drew and I are going to be the positive ones. I think, listen, you watch that game. Where we got crushed by them early on was down low. Again, fell down behind early and then came back. Kentucky's played well. Now, there may be a fatigue issue, Drew, because they've already played two games. They had to watch Clara Strack yesterday while they're sitting in the hotel. They still haven't slept. Nightmares all night. They are terrified of what Clara Strack is going to do now that Kenny Brooks has unlocked that. Also, we're a 15-and-a-half point underdog, 8-1 to win. Wow. Cornbread Hemp, it's sleep month. Get your rest. If you have rest on your mind, go to Cornbread Hemp. They've got all kinds of gummies, botanicals like valerian root, chamomile, and lavender. It's all there at cornbreadhemp.com. Sleep Gummies Oils. It's cornbread hemp grown for the good life. Be like me, and you can rest easier with cornbread hemp. I want to thank all of you who came out today at Paul Miller Ford. Give yourselves a big round of applause. Awesome. Malachi Moreno, Jasper Johnson, everybody, it's been excellent. And tomorrow our pregame show starts at 1.30. We will be live at KS Bar, open at 11. Come see us. That will be a great pregame and postgame environment. If we win, I'll do the post-game show there, which that will be, you know what, I'll buy the beer, too. If we win, why not? I'm in. We'll see you later. This has been Kentucky Sports Radio.
