The highly anticipated IPO for SpaceX blasts off today, a new tranche of government UFO materials causes a stir, and Team USA faces off with Paraguay tonight. I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire executive editor John Bickley. It's Friday, June 12th, and this is Evening Wire. SpaceX went public this morning in a long-awaited record-setting IPO, officially making Elon Musk the world's first trillionaire. Here's Elon speaking at the launch event this morning. It is certainly hard to believe that a little company that started in a warehouse in El Segundo is now going public with the largest IPO ever. Let me tell you, if people had told me this was going to happen, I was like, man, you must be smoking some really good crack because I think this company is going to fail. Shares for the company opened at $150 well above the IPO price of $135. Despite an unconventional price to earning ratio, investors clearly have faith in SpaceX. The IPO has now raised a record-setting $75 billion, pushing the company's valuation well over $1.7 trillion. At least one person was killed and several wounded today in a shooting in Texas. Foreign Affairs reporter Kasia Kiva has the latest. The Trump administration continues to claim that an agreement with Iran could be just days away. This morning, Trump accused Iran of leaking false details about the pending agreement, saying terms reported in the media had, quote, nothing to do with the terms that were agreed to in writing. Trump blasts Tehran as, quote, very dishonorable people to deal with. Hours after Trump's post, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Argachi signaled the talks remain on track, saying the proposed agreement, quote, has never been closer. Later in the day, a senior administration official told the Daily Wire that Iran has committed in principle to removing its enriched nuclear material, dismantling key elements of its nuclear program, and decommissioning nuclear sites. The official said the next phase in negotiations will focus on the technical details of implementing those commitments. The official cautioned that the deal is still not finalized. President Trump says he will nominate Jay Clayton as National Intelligence Director after backlash to Bill Pulte. Daily Wire Assistant Editor Andy Valdez has the details. U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton has been tapped to take over as Director of National Intelligence. Clayton currently serves as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York and previously ran the Securities and Exchange Commission during Trump's first term. If confirmed by the Senate, Clayton will replace interim Director Bill Pulte, who filled in following the resignation of former Director Tulsi Gabbard. While Pulte's appointment drew massive criticism from Democrats and some Republicans, several Democratic lawmakers have already expressed support for Clayton, including Senator Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee. The United States government is investigating inexplicable glowing orbs that move at high speeds and have repeatedly appeared around the country over the past few years. Reporter Drew Berkmeyer has the details. The Daily Wire was briefed by senior administration officials on this new tranche of unidentified aerial phenomena documents ahead of their release today. Numerous documents detail FBI interviews with people describing activity in the Northeastern U.S. Videos and interviews detail glowing orbs in the sky, both red and white, that move across the landscape. FBI agents also interviewed a former U.S. Army Intelligence Officer and four other members of his unit in June 2024 who described seeing a potato-shaped, translucent but shimmering object in the sky that vanished after about two minutes. House GOP members are reportedly considering a resolution to expunge President Trump's impeachment record. Trump himself has also expressed support for this resolution. Although not legally binding, the symbolic resolution would put current House members on record over their support for the president. House Speaker Mike Johnson told The Wall Street Journal that the resolution is, quote, not an order of first priority, but is something that Congress should make right. First Lady Melania Trump and Secretary Besant announced a program this week that will make children in foster care eligible for Trump accounts. Daily Wire investigative reporter Meg Brock has the story. The new initiative called Fostering the Future will open up Trump accounts to children in foster care. As we've covered on the show, Trump accounts are designed to help children build wealth over time through tax advantage investment accounts, starting with $1,000 seated by the government. Previously, Trump accounts required a parent or guardian, but this new initiative from Trump and Besant will allow roughly half a million foster care children to participate as well. The First Lady says about half of all U.S. governors have already agreed to implement the program and urge the remaining states to participate. Ben & Jerry's co-founder says the company's new owner is destroying the brand by not engaging in criticism of President Trump. Daily Wire Lifestyle reporter Lauren Baer has the latest. In a recent interview, co-founder Ben Cohen revealed that the company's new owner, Magnum, forbade the Ben & Jerry's socials from criticizing Trump or Trumpism. Cohen, who started the company in 1978 with Jerry Greenfield, sold the company in 2000 with an explicit contractual agreement that the brand must maintain a three-part core mission, which includes a focus on quality, economic growth, and progressive social activism. Cohen went so far as to say Trumpism was the biggest threat to Ben & Jerry's values since its founding and says suppressing its voice on social justice issues could irreparably damage the brand. The feud has been simmering for months and Cohen and Greenfield are pushing for Magnum to sell the company to socially aligned investors. The Senate Armed Services Committee voted in favor this week to officially change the Pentagon's name to the Department of War. Daily Wire producer and veteran Justice Spueller has the story. This attempt to rebrand the department's image was already underway as President Trump signed an executive order last September temporarily updating the name. However, to change the department's name permanently and to protect the name from reversal by future presidents, Congress must sign off on the update. While Democrats like Senator Tim Kaine voted against the change, calling it juvenile, the move has already been approved by both Armed Services Committees in the House and Senate. Switzerland is set to vote on a referendum that would cap its population at 10 million permanent residents until 2050, which includes both immigrants and citizens. Daily Wire immigration reporter Jenny Tehr has the latest. The vote is a sign of the frustration in Europe over an influx of immigration. Since 2000, the number of foreign-born residents in Switzerland has climbed from one in five to one in three. The demographic shift has been stark and has propelled the country's right-wing Swiss People's Party to push back against EU influence on the Alpine Nation. Switzerland's current population is around 9.1 million. If the referendum passes, it would force the government to restrict new asylum claims and family reunification for immigrant residents when the population hits 9.5 million. At 10 million, the Swiss government would have to sever its free movement agreement with the EU. Team USA has its first World Cup match tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern.
