The Shotgun Start discusses LIV Golf players speaking out about potential PGA Tour returns, the Wells Fargo Championship at Quail Hollow, and a flashback to Sergio Garcia's historic 2005 collapse. Key themes include media restrictions, tour politics, and the uncertain future of professional golf's competing leagues.
Insights
- LIV players are publicly positioning themselves for potential PGA Tour negotiations while maintaining they don't need the tour, suggesting strategic posturing rather than genuine desperation
- The creator economy vs. professional golf divide is emerging as a significant structural tension, with content creators facing different regulatory treatment than traditional tour players
- Tour consolidation uncertainty is creating a two-tier system where signature event players have significant advantages over those competing in alternate events, making it harder for outsiders to break through
- Blown leads in professional golf remain historically rare (six shots is the record since 1996), suggesting either improved mental resilience or that large leads are genuinely difficult to achieve
Trends
LIV Golf players adopting public courtship strategy with PGA Tour rather than antagonistic stance, signaling potential negotiation opennessIncreased media access and player transparency at LIV events contrasting with perceived PGA Tour restrictions on content creationGrowing tension between YouTube/creator golfers and traditional professional tour structures regarding content rights and participation rulesSignature event concentration creating structural barriers for non-signature event players to access top-tier competition and FedEx Cup pointsPotential LIV Golf downsizing to reduced schedule rather than complete dissolution if funding constraints continueDP World Tour vulnerability dependent on continued PGA Tour financial support and LIV Golf's existence as negotiating leverageInternational golf event consolidation (Australian Open announcement) potentially signaling shift away from LIV partnershipsPlayer equity stakes in LIV Golf creating long-term financial incentives for league survival independent of playing contracts

Now the shotgun starting golf is full of mathematics. There's a lot of setup work that we have to do in order to make a tournament work. So I'm going to demonstrate to you just exactly how we do a shotgun start here. And here we go. Alright, alright, alright. Gentlemen! Start your engine! Greetings and welcome to a Friday edition of the Shotgun Start. It is May 8th. Joseph, how we do it? Brendan! I'm doing great. I'm dropping it up a little bit behind the scenes. PJ and I all smiles. You seem like maybe a little bit of a grumpy boy tonight. So we're going to find out. Ready to do it. Why am I a grumpy boy? I'm just trying to get prepared. Trying to be professional here for our podcast. Starting 45 minutes late. Starting quite honestly four and a half hours later than I wanted to because you're playing golf. Seems like everyone in this company is playing golf this week. I'm not playing golf. I'm minding the store. I had an invitation to play golf today at Congressional down the street here. Good friend, JP Fillman. What I got in a lot of commies, a Scuttle Butt. I had an invitation to play golf yesterday. Manor with my good friend Bo Murray for his 40th birthday, I believe. Nice little William Flynn. I didn't get to play the William Flynn course this week. But you were playing golf. You were putzing around. Manor, I really want to get out dying to get over there. But I have to mind the store. So you're coming in, waltzing in here. I got to play golf and you're the grumpy. I'm the grumpy boy now all of a sudden. I guess these Ashley Madison ads are so they can support your golf habit. Maybe that's what's going on here. I would just like to say for the record, this is my first round of the year and it's May. So I think I should give the audio here, dude. Do you remember last round? Was it a casual round or work round? I think sort of in between, very with a very, very good friend of the program. And well, maybe the lines blurred a little bit there actually. I might do this. I was unsolicitedly supplied info about your round. I was told you spent a lot of time in the trees. I was in front of the program, reached out. So you could move it, but you were hit. You were putzing around in the trees a lot. Must have sent that text on like the third hole because I actually kind of played pretty well today. I just heard about it. I just heard about it. All right. Well, good. I'm glad you got to play your first round. I'm just giving you shit. I'm giving you. I'm happy you got to play. We will now have our later than I wanted to Friday recording. So that's good. Where did you play? Anywhere interesting in the hills of Austin? Driftwood, a discovery property. Oh, so I'm sure the comfort station was very comforting if you were to discovery property. There are a lot of comfort stations. There might have been as many comfort stations as golf holes. Oh my God. Oh, ostentatious. No pun intended. That's good. Did you sleep well? Is that why you were messing around in the trees? How do you prepare for a round of golf? Your first round of golf for the year. Did you get to sleep well? No, I've been kind of battling a little bit of sleep issues recently to be completely honest. So I think it was, I have not been super well slept. Well, maybe that resulted in spending a little bit of time in the trees, but I would still like to push back on how much time I was spending in the trees. That's fine. I'm just going on the first hand account that I received. But if you need better sleep, you know, you got to be ready. Got to be ready for your first round of the year, your second round of the year. I don't know if that's tomorrow or Saturday, whatever it is. Your third round of the year, you got to be on top of it. And eight sleep can help you stay on top of that. We're going to add read here at minute three and a half. This is what happened with the Indians. It was a little Scotland travails. I don't have any golf rounds on the upcoming books, but if I did, I would consult my eight sleep. I will be locked in because I've had my eight sleep pod set up. You can learn more about the pod by eight sleep, a smart mattress cover at eight sleep.com. Spell it out. You know, shortcuts here like the digit eight, it's spell it out. E-I-G-H-T for those of you. That was always a struggle, more of a struggle to spell. Eight can kind of, too many vowels can kind of throw people off. E-I-G-H-T sleep.com slash fried egg. The pod is a cover that goes on any mattress. Heats are cool. Each side from 55 degrees to 110 degrees, which, you know, you got bigger problems, I'd say. If you, then, then your pod, then your sleep. If you need 110 degrees to sleep or 55, it tracks your health while you sleep. You'll also get up to $350 off the pod five with our code fried egg. That's one word, all caps. Our code fried egg, you get $350 off the pod five. That's pillow talk. Everybody loves pillow talk by eight sleep. Love it. Great segment. I'm sorry you're having sleep troubles. We'll have to talk to our friends at eight sleep. How hard is eight to spell? I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that eight is a difficult word to spell. I think relative to five, four, I think it gets hard. People kind of, I've seen people screw up the vowels there. There's a lot of vowels. There's a lot of vowels. I don't know. Or the age comes first. I'm talking about kids here, maybe not you, but eight sleep, spell it out. I'm glad you enjoyed your day at Austin. Seems like you probably had better. What'd you get from the comfort stations? What'd you sample? I mean, it seems like you're wet in your beak today. What'd you sample? Some, some nerds, clusters, some granola. What direction do we go? Some Gen Z snack or sorts? I kept it pretty down. A lot of waters, maybe a beef empanada or two. That's not down the, what is that? That was supposed to be basic. I thought you were going to say water and cracker or something. I thought you were going to go like uncrustable. Yeah. Nature Valley. No, more, more what I mean, I think that there's a lot of like tequila shots and that that is a big part of the experience and I largely abstained. So. Yeah, the pod though. I guess you've been drinking pod lately anyway. So I wouldn't have stopped you. Just kidding. Yeah. Do you have the wine poured for tonight? It's late later. No, not late enough. I learned my lesson the last time. I don't think I'm ever doing that again. There's no less than no less than. It was just the surprise I'm seeing the sip come in. No less than. I would encourage you to have a glass of a glass of wine with this recording. So I'm glad you enjoyed it. Glad you got your beef empanadas in the weather. Looked nice in Austin. It was not nice in Charlotte. Nasty Thursday. Might be nasty Friday. They're doing sweet teas, threes, condensing the tea times here. There's just a small field so they can get around nearly got around on Thursday. That's a horn drama. I love some horn drama. Cam, you know, almost going to the top of his swing on his 18th tee shot, 18th hole. I think he was done nine, right? Do you go up the front or do you go up the back? He was on 18. He was on 18. All right. So he was 18th tee box. Happy birthday, Cam, by the way. Is it his birthday, the seventh? It is today as we record this. Good run. Not knowing. Unfortunately says so much. Right. I'll never forget it. Mine's tomorrow. So now I know he's the seventh. There you go. Michael Scott. Brendan just did the Michael Scott. I'm calling to wish you a happy birthday and they're like, oh, it's not my birthday. And he's and then Michael's like, well, I thought we might have the same birthday. Brendan just lavin out that his is tomorrow hoping for birthday wishes. That might be the third fucking of the week. No, that's the last thing I want. Now I just say I will never forget Cam, young is the day before because now I have a frame of reference. I know Rory is like this week, May 4th, a lot of good golfers that not, I'm sorry, not putting myself in a bucket to be clear. I'm not Cam and Rory. So yeah, good, good week. I can't believe you know his birthday. Like you're in the single white female stage of this Cameron young fandom. This is we woke up today and Peter Millar throws out a birthday. They got like a four tier birthday cake for him. It's it's you know, when you're an American hero, the PGA tour put together a highlight video for him. This is people are moved right now. I mean, move. Moved. I love it. I love it. He's whipped the people up. He's got all sorts of political movements behind him. Co-op. This is my first certain different. Different discuss this already. Joseph. I discussed this already on a little Monday whip around. We don't need to dig into the political discourse here. We're good. He's being held up as a totem. The boys are abstaining from the political discourse. All right. You know, he's going to be on the cover of some, you know, J6 choir album next thing you know, like he's just clear just to be told him for the price. All of a sudden. Cam has also completely abstained from the political talk. That is being thrust upon him. He's trying to put you guys on the back. Dis-tasteful. Just trying to put you on the back foot here. He'll be at the fitness, the next fitness council, Todd Golden and Bryson and Gary player mate. That'd be good. Matt McCarty goes eight under, shoots 63. He gets in just bombs away from off the green. Just makes a bazillion, bazillion pots from like 30 feet and beyond gets in hits. It's into players on his last hole through and under players to about five, like two feet. Great shot. I didn't see, I mean, 63 is a very, very good number in any kind of conditions at quail hollow. Don't see that a ton. Obviously some legendary rounds there like Rory 62. That was a long time ago. Anthony Kim and others. But a good round nonetheless. A lot of fire taken out of the golf course. Ton of rain overnight. And then this morning just dumping green sort of according to Rory smoothed out, rolled better, receptive a little bit more, but very soggy and lawn getting to the greens. Any other takeaways from the quail hollow first round? Or I guess it's almost first round, Joseph. Not a ton. I mean, it's one round, but I think Sung Jae at least showing something is potentially promising. Sung Jae was uncharacteristically bad last year. His iron play was horrendous and made it to play. Yeah. I need to look at that. Didn't he like have one or two high finishes that kind of got him? And Sung Jae's year last year was bad. Yeah. He made it to East Lake. His last tee ball was kind of a foul ball before as they blew the horn. Yeah. Looks like he's in a decent shape. I don't think he'll be hanging around the weekend, but it would be cool to see Sung Jae get back to form a little bit. Other than that, I didn't have a ton of takeaways from one day at quail hollow. It was pretty soft round. I mean, where are you at with this event? We go Dural? Don't. What? Don't what? Don't what? I mean, I think we're on the same. As you do a pie on the podcast? I think we're on the same. Well, I don't want to be negative. I think we're on the same page that it is what it is. It's really hard to have signature events in a row. You guys talked about it. I think your point about it's hard to have signature events in the middle of major season to is also appropriate. I think this event's pretty sleepy. Heard from some people on the grounds that there was not a big, not a lot of fans out there today, which is in part the weather, but it's not, it's not an amazing event. It's fine. Yeah. It's fine. It's fine. It's the truest championship. I have a great flashback Friday and a former Wachovia championship before Wachovia went belly up. Then it became Wells Fargo. Now it's truest championship. It's like a fine, it's a good PGA tour event, I would say. I think that's on the scale. So we're one round in. Everybody's dressed like Sevi. Rory and Rosie were dressed like Sevi. You guys like this? I got, I woke up to a voice message from a friend in Spain on the European tour where they spent the memo out. Everybody's got dressed like Sevi, the blue trousers, the white polo. They said, apparently their stats guys kind of waddle out with their iPad and they mark them all like red shirt, green hat. That's how they track the players said quote, absolute nightmare for the tracking with everybody's wearing the same gear on the European tour. So good luck to them. I say that was a voice message. I woke up to, but yeah, Rory and Rose were two of the reps from the Euro tour sporting the Sevi look at Wells Fargo. Don't have anything else. Any alarm bells, Adam Scott, DFL, nothing like that. It kind of happened last week with the rally at a bad first round. It went nuts to get back in it. Nothing jumped out to you. Bobby Max kind of on a little downturn after having a really good start to the year. Obviously, like was looking pretty good through San Antonio and then disaster in Augusta and the iron plighters hasn't been very good. So I think he's probably a relevant name to downgrade for next week. Unless you finished it really well. I was told that San Antonio week was a lot of smoke and mirrors. He was not hitting it that well, but obviously had a chance to win on Sunday though. And then had some issues at the Masters the following week. Webb Simpson making the most of his sponsors exemption. He's next to DFL. Where are we out with sponsors? Well, I was going to say speaking of sponsors exemptions. Tony Fino is trying to play his way into next week here. He's T5 right now. How would he play his way in? He can win. Does that give you a spot? It does. If you're not already in. Alex Fitzpatrick kind of. I believe it's Webb Simpson, Sudarshan, Tom Hoguey and Tony Fino are the four players not already caught. Sudarshan's first alternate now at this point. Yes. The fact that Sudarshan isn't already into the PGA is absolutely insane. I would agree with that. We're giving special invites to Tom McKibbin. I mean, this is the quirk of the majors. Like Sean McKeel is in the PGA next week and Sudarshan is not. Homer just had to get in off the alt-list when Phil W.D. McKeel is there. He won it. Should he not have that right anymore? What about the 20 core Bridge Financial team? You want to get rid of Blocky? No. Tom McKibbin just got a special invite. Look at what Tom McKibbin has done this year. Tom's a head scratcher. I don't understand that one at all, that he got an invite and Sudarshan hasn't. I think it's based on his OWGR because McKibbin's like 100. They just try to fill out the top 100 and say they got the top 100. But Tom McKibbin hasn't done anything. Sudarshan made a run at the players like playing on a way more competitive tour. He'll get in, but I think looking at this field, there are a lot of names that you wonder how they're in ahead of Sudarshan. I did have Eddie Bayjack who tracks all these things that Donna the tour sent me like sort of an outline. Look, the PGA one's already always a little nebulous, right? It's like they kind of make it up, but you kind of know where they're going. They want to get everybody in the top 100. They do the Ryder Cup captains. He sort of outlined it to me like three years in a row, number one in the KFT has gotten in. Ian Holt would be that instance this year. But he did say, I can't explain DJ this year. It seemed like a deal where the masters he won was after the PGA. So we were shortchanged one year and the special exemption made it up. Webb Simpson got a similar one in 2023. So Webb just cashed him all in lately from his 18 players championship. But DJ just thirst promo exemption, popularity exception. I don't say it's wrong. If it's making up for something that he rightfully that was last year. Oh, those last years. So then, yeah, that's that's that's less good. Yeah. Yeah. Um, but McKibbin you're out on. So Darsha needs to be an over McKibbin. I just think it's hard to look at what they've done on a golf course this year and and argue that Tom McKibbin. Is a better golfer right now. And I know that's not all that it comes down to, but I think there's more assessment. Maybe not a PGA issue, but just in general, I think the way that these guys who are not in the signature events are being shortchanged right now is a very significant issue. And so Darsha not getting into the PGA isn't necessarily the best evidence of that. But like it is such an uphill battle to unseat the guys who are in signature events. You're already getting fewer reps. Now he's he'll play the PGA. He's first alternate, but like there's a world in which he was kept out of the PGA when guys are free rolling FedEx cut points. It's really, really hard to knock those guys out and that does need to change moving forward. I'm hearing some early rumblings that maybe the modeling on like the proposed like fields for next year or this is proposed like restructured tour would provide even like less turn of like a lot of static static membership. Tough to break in type early, not internal modeling, just modeling, modeling could could be issues there. So everybody's going where we're taking the mid majors out of the tournament or taking Siddharthian out of signature events. Nobody can get in anymore. It's just just you got to be a power player to get into any relevant. You have Steve Cohen bankroll and everything just to be a player and the or you know, the dot. That that fails. So watch out PGA tour. Um, McKibben is playing his trade this week in Virginia. Your boy McKibben, who you say shouldn't have a spot. I hope the live box. I didn't say that. I shouldn't be in the tour or shouldn't be in the PGA over in Joseph's defense. There is no bigger David Pooch fan in the world than Joseph Flamanya, who is also in the PGA. So he should live. I agree. But if the live boys want to go at McKibben, Joseph is flying the David Pooch fan for years now. Yeah. A T five in Mexico City and other than that has not finished in a top 15 this year. So I'll just, it's not like he's tearing it up on live. Only point there. That's just not the assessment that's done. I do just want to say there's an outside chance that I believe they're well, because they're not going to have an event for however long. I think they're US open qualifying. The live one spot that they get closes this week. Yeah. There is an outside chance that AK could get it, which I think would be kind of amazing. I mean, how outside a chance are we talking? He's in like six, then he needs to be in third. That would be incredible. God, that'd be amazing to get AK at Chinatcock. That'd be amazing. Lucas Herbert, a bear is leaving, leading the live Virginia event for the Ripper GC with an eight under round over there across the river at Trump, Virginia, I believe it was what's called Trump, Virginia, Trump National Virginia. You got Leish and Hatton, Nipponetta's heels, Sergio, Bassimunas, all kind of coming close. It's just been more of a, the golf I think has been secondary this week. A lot of people speaking. It's interesting. The authoritarian regime is now out. A lot of people find reporters chit-chatting away. Ian Poulter, Dustin Johnson, Bryson's talking to Garrett Johnson. Like just people are available and ready to chat. So that's happening across the river. We had Ian Poulter spoke to James Corrigan, who's there, good reporter from the telegraph. He's been there all week, I believe, kind of investigating the John Rom, DP World Tour situation. He spoke to Ian Poulter, who says he fears for the European tour. I fear for them. Even though I resigned, I played for 23 straight years and I care about why I learned my trade. They can't afford live to go away. The DP World Tour can't afford live to go away because if we go away, it does not look very good for them. The PGA Tour is essentially saying as bank rolled the DP World Tour to hundreds of millions of dollars. And if that stops, well, it's not rocket science, he says. You've got private equity boys in with strategic sports group. They're just paying money out. This is Poulter's POV, paying money to the DP World Tour. If live stops, what does that have to do with it? Why does live stopping make them more vulnerable? Because they need to complete the alliance as part of a way to head off live. And if that threat of live is no longer there, the alliance doesn't need to exist. They just pull the money. The PGA Tour pulls the money and the DP World Tour folds. I guess I don't need to read the report, but I would also think that there's going to be stronger fields in DP World Tour events if some of these guys are showing up. That's what you would think. But he wants live to pursue, persist, I should say. And he added, look what happened in Australia. Look what happened in South Africa. We've been able to have 10 teams that are actually profitable this year. We discussed on Wednesday, like the team salaries are going towards the league, I guess, P&L. And not the, I don't know what the team accounting situation is. Kind of a big expense that they're not accounting for. And look at the fan base that we've grown and look what we've done inside the ecosystem. Bringing more kids into the game, more families coming. There's so many positives in a five year window of what we've been able to achieve. It's remarkable. From nothing and all headwinds, I would parenthetically add, they spent $5 billion, which just isn't quite the scrappy bootstrap, nothing situation that I've led to believe. From nothing and all headwinds, it's been five years of headwinds from day one. I wonder why. They've, we've, I think he's talking about live has been given every bit of restraint that they could possibly, or the, I guess that the deep state has given every bit of restraint that they could possibly push our way. I actually think we've done an amazing job. I really do. So, Pulse is out there, say in the DP World Tour might cave if they go away and they've gone from nothing and all headwinds to incredible achievement. I do think they've achieved something in some measure, but it's been a lot of money to get there. I couldn't help but notice in Pulse comments here that the legends tour was not brought up in any way, shape or form. Does he think that that will stay if the DP World Tour goes? Cause, you know, I mean, let's be honest, the legend tour should have been put out the pasture probably 10 years ago, 15, like it's not even a thing. You tell that to Barbados. I was going to say, you tell that to Woozy, man. Woozy's hosting his event in the islands. Come on. Did you see Poulter's Instagram story? No, I can't say I did. I sent it to a group chat that we're in. So, I think he posted something to the effect of it's been interesting that a lot of media has been out at live golf who have never, this week, who have never covered golf before. They seem determined to push certain angles and he said he's recorded all the conversations himself simply to make sure that what gets written is actually what was said and that my words don't get twisted or taken out of context. So, look out, Poulter's got some audio files on. He's filming you. You're filming him. I like that. We got to get over there. God, I'm trying. BP, as a, you know, a big J journalist yourself, are you familiar? Is Virginia one party state? What's the rules on that? Does he have to disclose that he's recording people? Oh, I don't know about the recording laws. Is he in legit violation of laws here? I don't know what's going on. I'm going to do some retcon on that. Ian, with that being said, open invite. We love that. Open invite. Open invite and lunch. We need you. They have the boys. They'll buy lunch. We'll record it. We'll record it. You'll record it. You can record it. We won't edit it. It'll be great. Open invite. We could talk about the headwinds of the last five years and I made it. Love it. I got to get over there. These guys, it's a tough, tough hunt. I mean, going to Virginia is like going to Mars when you live in Maryland. It's just like, it's just a big, I don't know, home games. Too many, too many things going on at home right now. I'm going to try to get over there. It looks kind of fun. Virginia is a one party consent state by my 30 seconds of Googling. So, Pulse, journalistically, ethically, legally okay here. Congratulations. Other notable golfers, honor Bonley Heary. Here we go. Here we go. Also available to chat this week. Let me source this correctly. This is from the times. Times. Times. London, I believe. They asked. If live golfers are ready to jump back to the PGA tour, he said, quote, that is the biggest joke ever. I will not name names, but I know at least a dozen players who'd rather not play golf than go back to the PGA tour. When asked what's wrong, why what's wrong with the PGA tour? He said, I'm not going to answer because I don't want this to be a hate thing. I played on the PGA tour for seven years and really enjoyed my time there. I learned a lot about the business of golf. I guess not the winning of golf, but the business of golf. And some of the things I learned disillusioned me. Disillusioned me. I'll leave it at that. Is that just mule mistreatment? What's going on? What are the business that disillusioned? He came in second at the players once. I remember that. Well, that was enough for me to not want to go back, but that's me personally. I'm sure others have different opinions of it and I respect that as well. But to generalize that everybody's falling over backers to come back to the PGA tour, it's the same kind of propaganda we've had for four years. Is there a story that everybody's falling over to come back? I don't know that there's been some speculation that people have reached out to different tours. But it feels like kind of a straw man that he's creating or someone did when they asked them about it. I don't think that there's this report out there that 55 players from live are falling over to come back. I think some have reached out. There's been reports that people have been trying to find a way to get back, but Brendan, do you know how much money Interbound Laherie made on the PGA tour? I was just looking this up. I'll go with like four and a half million dollars. Oh, you're way off. Lower? $9.3 million. I guess the players would be a couple. I just, I don't know that, I didn't know that he played that much. Quite frankly on the tour, I was trying to remember how much he played. I think he played like eight seasons. He was pretty hot and cold. I do remember that. He never got that hot. Like let's be honest. I understand. He's like, he's cold. Yeah. I'm just saying this is a guy that no casual golf fan would ever know if he walked by them on the street. He made $10 million playing on the PGA tour and he's gotten axe to grind. Well, I mean, he's a member of one of the most esteemed franchises in sports now. The Crossers. You can't, you can't get that on the PGA tour. He's, you know, going to be the Yankees of golf. Do you not remember the drop top Corvette like photo shoot where they were in all the jerseys and they were trying to brand themselves as come on, like, you know, I get that now. Yeah, I do. I was great. Yeah. He was like wearing a Dodger jerseys. Right. If the Crusher's are the Dodgers of golf, baby. Come on. I remember that now. I do remember that. His teammate on the Crusher's Bryson has also spoken this way. His captain. His captain. My captain or captain. I must be loyal to my capo. What did, what has Bryson said? I, I got to say, I read a few of the quotes. Seems like, you know, I would say he's falling over to get back, but it seems like he's poking around about it. I don't want to say he's trying to leave, live at all. But the way he's like talking is if like, well, it's, they got to want me back or it's not a roll up issue. What did he say? He's for sure not out. He's, he's definitely not playing coy about being willing to play in the PGA on PGA tour. The phrase he keeps using is he wants to be wanted. He's publicly putting it out there that he's available for courtship. I feel like he's just waiting for somebody to fly in with an offer, whether that be the your golf tour, the PGA tour, the live golf tour. He just, you know, he's got a big open for business side. There's a four sale side in the Brice and Deshambo house that he hit the golf balls over and he's waiting for somebody to come through is what it feels like. He repeatedly says, I want to play golf tournaments where I'm wanted. Little thirsty. Does he, does he think he's wanted it sufficiently yet at the PGA tour? Doesn't seem like it. So this is, this is to scratch Garrett Johnson catches up with Bryson there. He's got a bone to pick with what he believes is the PGA tours media restrictions, media rights deal regarding YouTube, which has changed over the past couple of years. This is a Bryson quip. So if I was to film a video during the week of one of their events, they're being the PGA tour with a content creator or a celebrity that would be in violation to my knowledge. He points to this PGA tours. Can I just say something? I'd rather, I'd rather read the US tax code at this point than have to hear about like creator, like, like, I'm not saying one's right. One's wrong. I just don't give a shit about this anymore. The creator, YouTuber regulations, a news ban. Just found regulations. I just don't like could not be less interested in any of that. Well, you, as Bryson told Garrett, you need to go talk to Garrett Clark about that because they wouldn't let him post a Wednesday pro amp video. All right. So this is affecting real people, Brendan. This is, this is, I had someone pose to me as a smart person with the tour that the next civil war coming in golf is not live versus PGA tour, but it is pre-COVID golfers and post-COVID influencers. Oh, that's not what I thought you were going with that. What golfers, pro golfers versus YouTubers. I thought we were getting, I thought we were going to go YouTube golf world versus professional golf world. I mean, I think that's possible. You've got the same agencies route, like, I mean, scooping them up. Brother, you're on the front lines in Austin. You're going to see this come to a head at the good, good championship. You are, you are in the Thunderdome yourself right there. Brad Dahlke's in. Sorry if you had that for news, BP. We're just skipping to that right now. No, go ahead. I didn't, I didn't have that. Congratulations to Brad Dahlke, who bypasses competing on the big break, the return of the big break, which was supposed to be a competition that the winner, presumably Brad Dahlke, would get a sponsor exemption into the good, good championship. They just gave him one anyway. So doesn't he work there? Yes, he does. He is a good, good guy. He is right. For my understanding, which reminds me, I should note, I should note something. I got a press release today for what might be the worst television show name I've ever seen in my life. Big break X, good, good presented by golf galaxy is the name of the show and it's complete full format. It's a mouthful. Big break X, good, good presented by golf galaxy. Why can't it just be big break anymore? What's the X? Anyways, Dahlke is in the good, good championship. Not the big break X, good, good presented by golf galaxy. Okay. So creator regulations are a bone to pick for Bryson. That is a bone to pick. He really wants to figure that out. So he points to the PGA Tour of Social Media Apology as one of the potential hurdles he sees if he were ever to pursue a return to the tour. Quote, it's their policy. They didn't let me do it when I was on there. I asked various times. They didn't let Grant Horvath or Garrett Clark do some videos during the Monday, Tuesday practice rounds. That's the truth. Then Garrett Johnson, the PGA Tour later clarified to scratch that third-party creators such as Horvath and Clark operate under different guidelines than tour members themselves. Under the tour's current player onsite social policy, players are permitted to capture and post content during practice rounds and pro-am days. When told the tour said that it allows players to create content onsite during practice rounds and pro-ams, Dishambo pointed to specific creator restrictions he's seen in the past. You should talk to Garrett Clark about that then because they didn't allow him to post a Wednesday pro-am video if you want to get into the semantics. I mean, Garrett Clark is not Bryson Dishambo. You are not. He is blurring the lines himself. He, I think, thinks of himself as a YouTuber and does not understand- Can we get to that? Yes, I was just going to segue right in here. Boys, take it away. He thinks he is a YouTuber and would be beholden to the Garrett Clark structure when if he is a PGA Tour player, he can do whatever he wants like Tommy Fleetwood and Jason Day and all these other people do now. But he has lost- the lines are so blurred that the man who has lost touch with reality 17 different times over the last 10 years has done it yet again and thinks he's a YouTuber now. Well, he did it again after his round today. PJ, can you please pull up this clip of Bryson talking about his round today? First round at Live Virginia, I guess it wasn't Bryson's best day. Shot 300, he's like T11 or something, but this is Bryson after his round. PJ, can you roll this? Buddy, you didn't have your best scope today. What should I say? Not at all. No. That was a bit of a little uncomfortable YouTube golf out there. That's what I don't like today. What does that mean, Joseph? Can you provide some context for me? What's he getting at there? He said that his bad round today felt like an uncomfortable day of YouTube golf. Which means what? He's playing for $4 million. What's an uncomfortable round of YouTube golf? You've got to go through the pool, noodles or something. What do you have to do? What is uncomfortable me? Off the knees when he's playing off his knees or whatever? I don't understand what that means. A little uncomfortable YouTube golf out there. That's what I felt like today. What about that round has anything to do with YouTube? I think he just, I think he, truthfully, I think he views golf through the prism of this YouTube thing now. What if he's been programmed to say like the word YouTube has to appear at this point every 50 words within every 50 words say, said YouTube must be, you know, interjected in some way or else he short circuits. That might be where we're at. Like he just, nah, YouTube. He just says YouTube now. I think that's a good game within the game. Every time Bryson talks, does he say the phrase game of golf or YouTube more often? What else did he say? It honestly sounds like he's like, you know, putting the possibility of coming back out there. I don't know. I'm not trying to over-inflate this, but it was a little more cars on the table than I expected. He was asked by Garrett if, you know, what, if it was only just about the one specific policy or what is, you know, his priorities. Where are they at going into a potential return to the PGA tour if, you know, something happens to live. Bryson says, I think there's a way to solve any problem. It's really about if the membership wants me back and if they just want me back. That's what it's about. I don't even think it's about Brian Rolapp or anyone like any of the top executives. It's really if the players want me back. And if not, I think that's probably true. I understand that. I think that's probably true. Yeah, he did sue them, you know, he was on Tuesday saying the PGA tour is all their own issues. That's what I don't get. Like these guys don't need the PGA tour. They might, they might not, but it just feels like we're still doing the, you know, antagonistic thing. Like Rome has fallen here, guys. And you're kind of in a, in a tight spot and, you know, Bond is saying it's a joke and I don't know. It's interesting. I'm not saying they need to be hat in hand. They're all probably fine without the tour for any reason, but it feels like some of it's like we're taking the dug in approach like we did in, you know, June of 22. So. I thought, I thought Thomas Peters with Danny Raps was actually like pretty respectable. He was just kind of like, yeah, if this folds, like I'm good. I'm ready. I was ready to retire on Monday in Mexico. Like if that's your angle and you're not going to do the antagonistic thing and you're just ready to pack it up and go home, like more power to you. That's fine. Grant McDowell. I don't know if you had this on the list of just random people to speak this week. Grant McDowell walking back being like, yeah, maybe grow the game was not what I should have said five years ago. Who was this to sports illustrated Bob. Okay. Yeah. Grow the game was not the narrative. Like this was just a way for me to play quote unquote high level golf for as long as possible. And I think he sees his own, you know, Ryder Cup captaincy mortality probably at this point in his career as he starts phasing out into television. Like, I, if that is your position and you're just going to put all the cards on table, like, oh, maybe I shouldn't have said that or oh, I'm ready to retire. Like, great. But if you're, you know, bond, you're like, yeah, nobody wants to go back. That's just a lie at the same time. You know, as Bond said, that was part of the, I genuinely don't. So please tell me. Well, he said a lot of players moved from the PGA tour because the lack of transparency there was just annoying. That, that could be, there was a lot of, there's lack of transparency at the PGA tour and more so in the past than today. But I think the bigger reason people moved from the PGA tour was because they got paid a heck of a lot of money to move on from the PGA tour. They didn't move. They were fed up with the transparency. So let me go play somewhere else that's transparent. The transparency is. Oh, I was going to say. The more sunlight. The trend, the transparency of all our league might shut down and nobody knows about it at any point in time. We're talking about it on Twitter is really, that's definitely transparent. I'm sure. But that wasn't the selling point. That wasn't going out to guys and saying, I know you're making a lot of money on tour, but do you want to come play somewhere transparent? Speaking of selling points, go to be dratting. Use the promo code SGS 30 gets you 30% off when you load that into your cart. They've got all the cool materials. More likely that he's not, Joseph. Pretty simple. I think the part that I'm like, what are the chances he does some kind of like partial deal? Like he's an equity holder. Like what if he just says, can I play live Adelaide in South Africa? And then that kind of be it for the, like, is there any middle ground? Because I don't think playing the full season, I don't know. It's the chances are probably higher than I'm thinking right now. There's probably a little bit of recency bias with what we've heard about live the last couple of weeks that maybe like they find a little bit of funding. Bryson's an equity holder. I've come around to that kind of like, just like everybody's slow down. Like as we do on Twitter and elsewhere, it's like, ding dong, the witch is dead. Goodbye. They're not going to even play next week. Like I just think we're hyper reactive in that way. And it seems like some people have been wish casting this forever. And then as soon as they get like a sense that this could be finality, they claim it as final. I do like, look, man, it's professional sports. You can kind of find a little bit of money. Am I suggesting they're going to go back to spending $100 million a month and $30 million? No. No. I think they could find, obviously the people are hiring or more towards like an alternate arrangement, bankruptcy filing, some sort of, it's not a like normal fundraise that's going on here. But like there are people who will jump in and might see a little bit of value or a super by low situation and kick in money. I don't know. I think we're, Bryson though is done with his contract. Okay. I get it that he's an equity holder. He has a lot of money. He can go do YouTube. He can play the majors. I think the bigger question and why we saw him so forlorn is maybe John Rom. I think like if you're live and you can raise whatever money you can, like what are you immediately or who are you immediately putting it toward first to save face? It's probably Rom. And then like, Which is clear. He's still under contract. Yeah. He's just paying the contract. Paying the contract so that contract doesn't become null and void and John would probably happily, I think be ready to move on. But he's under contract. He talked about it on Tuesday. Like there's not many ways out of it. Like it's just here. I think there are some poison pills. I think like, you know, as long as the contracts, like he said, as long as the contract exists, I'm not going anywhere. And so like, could there be a situation where they like can scrounge enough together to keep paying John Rom? So then it's Rom and whatever Nichols and pennies are left to fill in the gaps in his contract is his contract. And like that to me just like, It's like a Yonis in the box situation. I like started just workshopping this in my head yesterday as like, some of it was like a few things you hear is like, well, like I'm just an idiot. I'm not suggesting I have any answers. And I like started this is a fantasy. I said, if you like, no, that's like, entirely possible. Not likely might not be likely. It could be 5% possible. But like it does feel like John, they are, you know, they should be in a race to fundraise to pay John Rom's contract. And at least now you have Rom for 14 events. Does that mean he's going to go play PGA tour or DP World Tour a bunch to probably if, you know, he gets released and or, you know, he gets eligible to PGA tour and all that stuff. But I mean, that would be a real sort of shit sandwich if you're what looked like the best player in the world three years ago, four years ago. And what if live just decides that they're only going to have like five events next year? I think that that seems somewhat plausible to me. I mean, it doesn't seem cheap to put on their events right now. So, yeah, I mean, the Adelaide news Adelaide today is getting in bed with the Australian Open and they're the politician there is like, look, you have to be able to bring like a real event and pay. And so that may, you know, that's been a smashing success. But if there's no money to put on like a real event, then that may not be good. You know, it's expensive to do an event in Australia. I think you yeah, you there you're saying Adelaide is getting in bed with the Australian Open. There was an announcement that the Australian Open will be held for three three men's three women's between 2024 and then separately and apart is the same politician Adelaide has been a big champion of live. I was like, well, what's the deal with live then? I mean, you got to be able to pay you got to be able to bring a real event. It's not cheap, probably to do these. It's probably cheapish to do it in Virginia and Indianapolis and wherever, you know, relative to trying to go to to South Africa Adelaide, Singapore, Hong Kong, Rio like, you know, in a eight week stretch. So, yeah, I can see it was a reduced schedule. I don't think it's going away. I feel like it's maybe it is maybe maybe it's just totally dead. But if there's some sort of like, you know, lifeboat that's sort of floating out there at sea for a year or two, then that wouldn't shock me either. Did you feel like the Australian Open announcement was bad news for live that like what are the chances they're going to have both an Australian open and live Adelaide at the same golf course the same year? Do you feel like that was in part the Australian governments like kind of getting ready to move on from live? The fact that we're going to that agreement instead of potentially one with live Australia opens typically in December, early December. The live Adelaide things been in like mid January, I'd say, right, or early. No, no, no, mid February, they go to Rio, then they would go to mid February. I didn't take any. I didn't take any sign of that these of the live, but that's certainly plausible. I did take a sign that that sucks for the Australian Open. Like, why aren't we on the sand belt? Like, that's just too much. I get sprinkling around and going to Adelaide's like a distant different part of the country. Fine. But I don't know. It felt like that event had some momentum and now they're going to a less consequential golf course. When's the last time they're at Royal Adelaide? Because that was, I would need to look at that, but they have a, I mean, they've been to Adelaide. They've done it. It's a good spot. It is. It's just warming. Does that mean Royal? Like they have courses there. They could have tournaments. Like, does that mean Royal Adelaide is done? I don't know. My little man was just too frequent, right? It's like six straight years. Obviously, three men, three women. It's just like, I don't know, spread it around, has momentum. PJ, you want to jump in? Look, thank you. I was just going to say back, back on the Bryson thing. I don't mean to just stay on this forever, but. No, you're fine. Do you think Bryson, it feels like John Rob would, except like whatever punishment the PGA tour has in whatever way, shape or form. Do you think Bryson would be open to like undergoing whatever humiliation ritual they're going to ask him to do? Because I actually kind of think he would not. I don't think he, I think he would just think he's above playing in the One Flight Myrtle Beach Classic, for example. Yeah. No. Everything about Bryson would, I don't see that. He thinks of himself as sort of, and maybe rightfully so, quite frankly, like this sort of company and franchise in and of himself, right? And, you know, you should be privileged to have me on your tour, quite frankly. I think we should prepare for World of Bryson is just focused on YouTube and the four majors. Interesting. No? No. Yeah. No, I don't disagree. I don't disagree. Anything else? Unlived Virginia? They asked Mark Beachman. What kind of courses give you fits and what do you think his answer was? Long. Yep. You think you'd have more gaps to lay down, you know, to go the other way with it? Yeah, you know, course field, big out, big outfield, big ballpark, a lot of grass there. Drop it. That's a lot of that. That's a live Virginia. Hope I get over there tomorrow. Maybe for Mother's Day. Take my wife over to Virginia on the DP World Tour. Hold on. Have you wished your wife a happy Mother's Day yet? Not yet. It's Thursday. We're just we're rapidly approaching. No, he didn't say to, he said text your mother's. He didn't say you got to wish him a mother's. Don't. Well, no, he started off, he started off with the LeBron first off happy International Women's Day, you know, seven days early. Kind of. You're doing the thing that all media has done for the past four or five years, these headwinds. You're taking things out of context. You're playing right into Honor Bonds hands. I don't think it's bad to text your mom. Like, I think that's a nice sentiment. I just it's it as Brendan said, it is not Mother's Week. Like it was a it was a pull. It was a pull on Tuesday. God, the rom thing just is interesting to think about on the DP World Tour where he maybe could be playing more, will be playing more for sure this fall. Sean Norris leads at the Catalonia championship there in Spain. Sean Norris is your leader on the LPG at the Mizzouho. America is open there in New Jersey. Andrea Lee leads. Michelle We West had a tough sort of reentry to professional golf. She's of course the host, but you know, she's not a professional golfer anymore. It's kind of hard to drop in for a week and play. I have some insight here from the Mizzouho. I had a friend on the ground volunteering today. Yep. Said he he's standard-beared for a six hour round today in which they got two pace of play warnings. So things are things are going well at Mountain Ridge. God, six hours. That's so not acceptable. All right. That does it. That does it. Let's do a little flashback Friday on the 2005. Myrtle Beach Classic Brooks Kepke's T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. T20. The guy has been able to hang on for a while. We're honestly going to have stories. We got to play three more rounds. So we got to do. We're looking at this leaderboard. Brooks Notwood standing. Aron Wry T2. Aron Wry is like a perfect example of Aron Wry playing an alternate fielded event should should probably win the alternate fielded. Yes. Like Aron Wry is too good to be playing the one flight Myrtle Beach Classic. I think that's a fair assessment. Casey Jarvis top 10. Kind of what you should would expect from somebody who's been playing the entire entire from somebody who's been playing so well in an alternate shot or at an alternate event. All right, Flashback Friday 2005, Wacovia Championship. This is on Saturday night. It's one of the biggest blowing leads, three Hall of Famers. Do you know who won the 2005 Wacovia Championship? Three Hall of Famers in a playoff. Not yet Hall of Famers, but TBD. Fjörik. Lodrig Carrington. Close. Fjörik. Maybe a fireball. Sergio. Yep. And a champ's tour favorite. Reteef. No. Close. VJ. VJ St. Hall of Famers. That's fair. Right? All three of those guys are Hall of Famers. Yes. Yes. I mean, you might get some pushback on Fjörik, I guess, but he was one of the best players in the world for a long time. Fjörik was a problem. Yes. I said unquestionably three Hall of Famers. I just wanted to make that clear. Sergio Garcia, still tied for the biggest blowing 54-hole lead on the PGA tour. He led by six. This has, of course, been matched several times. DJ has blown a six-shot lead. Colin Moriakawa blew a six-shot lead a century, a couple of years ago. What was Cam up going into Sunday last year? Last week, I should say? Dorel? Five? Or was it six? I think it was five going in one by six. So it's just, what does that have to do with anything? He ended up winning by a bunch. No, no, no. I just said you want to go back to the window, which was nine, whatever it was? Yeah. I'm thinking about a recent, no, I'm thinking about a recent instance in which someone had a 54-hole lead of that amount. Got the thumbtack out and wants to pop the balloon. Think about if he had blown it, which he didn't. Think about if he had blown it. Pop the balloon. It was literally just had this set of circumstances on the ground. It's the guy's birthday, damn it. Pop the balloon. I wasn't. These wishin' blown leads left and right. I didn't say he blew it. I'm saying think about you guys, you boys, with the same almost set fact pattern. And this happening last Sunday. Can't comprehend it, but go on. Okay. Here we go. I guess we'll never know. A piece of story. Sergio Garcia looked at ease in the spotlight during the Wacovia Championship, starting with a private party two days before the tournament. Standing on stage before a packed house with a beer in his hand and beautiful women at his side, he belted out the chorus to, what song is he singing? Don't stop. American Pie. Mustaine's Sally. Oh my God. Standing on stage before a packed house with a beer in his hand and beautiful women at his side, he belted out the chorus to Mustaine's Sally. So during the spotlight, he looked at ease. He was more confident even at his day job, building a six shot lead at Quail Hollow going to the far round, certain that his struggles with the putter were almost over and his best golf was just around the corner. All that changed in 19 holes. Quote, it's just one of those things, Garcia said, a phrase he repeated five times in 10 minutes after losing after beating up six. On Saturday night, he's talking about his six shot lead. You go out there and treat us one more round. You go out there, you keep the same game plan. You try to keep doing the same things. It's worked till now. Now why not change? Furick said it's going to be tough. He's playing different golf these days. He's lapping the field. It's in his hands. He's going to determine who the winner is, not anybody else. DJ Treyhan, who was one of three, six back, including Furick and Singh, said, you're going to have to shoot seven or eight under. I don't think you needed to, to catch him. On this golf course, that's saying a lot. Unless he runs into some troubles, it's going to be hard to catch him. Well, let's go to Sunday. This is another AP article. Only one thing went according to script on Sunday at the Wachovia championship. The winner, winner, shrolled up the 18th green with no worries. The tournament all but decided. The shock was, it was VJ Singh always seen the trophy. The celebration was supposed to be for Sergio at a six shot lead. No one had done blowing a six shot lead since Norman at the 96 Masters. This is 05 Charlotte Wachovia. Singh said, sometimes it's harder to play with the big lead. This KM Young's further evidence of KM Young's great triumph. I just want to add further testimony. Sometimes it's harder to play with the big lead. You don't want to lose the tournament. If the guys are catching up, you start to get a little nervous, but we played well. Singh took advantage of the record tie and collapsed and an untimely mistake by Furick to win on the fourth playoff hole. Furick made two birdies on the final three holes. I believe that's referred to as the green mile, maybe not yet. Two birdies on the final three holes, including a seven footer on the 18th, they get into the playoff. But the third time he played the 18th was his downfall, pulling his tee shot into that creek. That just offensive little pitter pattering creek that runs down 18. He took a penalty drop laid up. So I was forced to shot Kerm off the flag and into the rough. As he said, Furick, just getting that close and not winning sometimes is a lot worse than finishing fifth. Now Sergio Sunday was a true insane house of horrors, like all the Sergio low notes that you would be used to. He squandered a six shot lead in 12 holes, six shots gone in 12 holes. Then he got it back with consecutive birdies, but slipped back into a tie on the seventh. So he's back in the lead, goes to 17, hits it in the water. The peninsula part three at 17 hits it in the water at 17. Then, so he loses it in 12 holes, gets it back, hits it in the water at 17, gets to the playoff, at three putts from 45 feet. This is a six footer by like just miles, never has a chance. So every little Sergio thing blows the big shot, hits it in the water at the final moments, and then loses the playoff with a three putt from 45 feet. He said, they say you learn more from your losses than your wins. And I've got a lot to learn from this week. Did he learn that? Who can say? Overlooked in the collapse was the play from Saint and Furick who shot six under 66. So less than DJ Trayhan had suggested. Saint was involved. He's now won three straight playoffs on the PJ tour, not one. There were three straight playoffs on the schedule. Saint was in two of them, and both times as opponent went off the, went in the water off the tee. So Saint had played two playoffs in prior three weeks, just putting the, putting the opponent in the, in the blunder, you know, off the bus intimidation. There you go. That's the disease to Vijay. And you are, you're scared. About the collapse, Saint said, he didn't play badly. He didn't shoot a high number or anything. We caught him. He's going to feel it a little bit, but it's not as bad as what Greg did during the master. So nine year reference, just bringing Greg back out, throwing him in front of the bus and driving it right over. So that's your mini flashback Friday. I saw Furick. I saw Saint. I saw Sergio. I saw playoff. They started digging into the details of Mustang Sally, beautiful women and a beer and a record setting, a blown 54 whole league. So that's your 2005 Wachovia championship. Sergio, I just had to be so hot after that. Are you guys a little surprised that there's never been a bigger blown league than six? I kind of Yes. It feels like one of these things. Remember, no one could shoot below 63 at a major until, I think it was Brandon Grace finally did, but like there were 18 instances of that. I'm surprised. There's several instances of six. Right. Going back to like the 1920s, although we know the tourist record keeping it's disgrace. I think it's perfect actually. No problem whatsoever with the tourist record. We just need Shane Lowry to get a seven shot lead. I was going to say, just open it. I mean, put it out there. Who would be most susceptible on the list? I mean, Lowry was what up four with? I mean, I feel like it was 16. Berger was up like six at Bayhill. Yeah. You might, how much was he up at Bayhill? He wasn't up six. He was up. He might have been up four. I mean, what was Fleetwood up at Eastlake? Number one, everybody was like just riding the whole Fleetwood. Fleetwood can't win on the tour thing. I was a little worried. I don't think it was six. I think it was less than that. So you had DJ at the 17, HSBC, WGC in China, I believe, Sergio Wachovia, Spencer Levine at the 2012 Phoenix Open, Colin Morcau at the Century, whatever that year was like 24, 23, Norm and 96 Masters. So yeah, it just feels like there's sevens, a lot of shots to blow in an 18 hole stretch. It's also so hard to get up that much. I was going to say, I think the hardest part is getting to seven. Right. Right. Yeah. But in the 400 year history of PGA Tour record keeping, you would think of what had happened once. So you could find, if you find a seven shot loan lead in some random tournament, you can blow up all the PGA Tours record keeping right there. You'd have your case. I think that does it. Any parting shots, boys? Any big weekend plans for the boys? I guess I'm never allowed to golf again. So won't be any... Oh, come on. Part of the bit is giving you a little push. I'm glad you got to play. I would be happy if you played the next three days in a row. I mostly played. I don't know. My phone was lighting up Brendan Porath on it, so I didn't really get to enjoy the full... What did I do? Kind of guilt tripped. Oh, he's probably out there, probably having a high noon right now. I didn't really get to enjoy the round, but at least I was out there seeing some sunshine instead of just being chained to my desk all day. Oh, I'm glad you were able to do that. I approve of the health benefits and the mental reset that I hope you were able to get. And now you just got to fix your sleep, and then you'll be... You could have a seven shot lead if you fix your sleep. Eight sleep seems like something that might be big down in Austin. Maybe we can get you on. It feels complimentary with Ashley Madison. I was thinking that. Oh, God. I bet you were. All right, we're coming on episode two of Crowbar and references to that unsavory company in this pod. It won't be. There will be no ad in this episode. So don't worry about it on that end. We shut it off until we can figure out what the hell is going on. Yes, we did. Thank you. Thank you, Business Pete. We are now an ad free podcast again. So congratulations, everybody. All right. I'm giving you guys the floor here. Our late night, hour and five minute mark. Any loopy thoughts going into the weekend? Racini files. I don't know. This is just a lot to catch up on. I mean, speaking of Ashley Madison, I made this joke already. I'll just do it while we're here. You could argue that we are on the pulse of the people in the sports world with an Ashley Madison ad because it's the biggest story in sports is about cheating on your husband and wife. And we were right there, apparently. I didn't get the Ashley Madison ad. I didn't get the Ohio ad. So I feel kind of left out, but I know those two happen. I know there's like real league news implications on that story. But some of it. You mean this story that she has been the advocate of the AJ Brown trade rumors to the Patriots for the last few months? Oh, I have a Jets. You're Jets fandom. I know where you're going with this and I agree. Just go. I think like I want all that. Like if they're like, I want league news implications, level playing field, league inside. Like that all needs to be level level. Level head of playing fields. But some of it also just feels like absolute salaciousness for clicks. It's because they know it's a massive story. Like is this moving the story in any substantive way? Or are we just now like gawking at like not acceptable behavior, but like five year ago thing that doesn't isn't crazy relevant? I don't know. There's got to be a way to tie it all together. But I think some people are just kind of not really doing that well enough for me. But it's going to drip forever, I would say. I don't know. I just wondered if they have bigger stuff. If today was seven, we're talking about on a boat together. All right. Here we go. What? I'm just saying maybe that they keep dripping and it keeps kind of getting worse. Like maybe they're sitting on something huge. Now, I myself have never been pregnant. Oh, here. But I'm going to survey women who have, I would think going on a boat is the would just be awful. It's a great thing. It seems like a terrible like activity, just not enjoyable. But you know, who knows? I also have never been pregnant and I also hate going on boats. Well, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm covered on all bases there. It feels like a bad like not falling. All right. That does it. We will be back with you on Monday to talk about the Wells Fargo, not the not the Wachovia, not the Wells Fargo, the truest championship, live Virginia, little PGA dalliance. We're going to, we're going to, do you have an early PGA pick, Joseph? No, you don't have to pick. Do you think, are you excited about this event? Are you down? You're going to be Mr. Negativity? No, look, it's way too early to start saying it's going to be soft and stuff. I'm excited to see a new golf course. I know we've seen Iran and Mink before, but it's always fun when there's a venue that we're not that accustomed to seeing. Do I think it's going to be a great test of professional golf? Probably not. I'll just put that out there now. I think it's going to be a little vahala-y, but I think I'm really excited for the tournament. It feels like we have a pretty big open tournament with a lot of guys playing really well. So fired up about the tournament, I kind of empathize with the Iran and Mink membership, maybe in advance, if their golf course gets taken apart a little bit. And that becomes an indictment of the golf course when it's a really good golf course. So I'm a little concerned about that. Okay, we will be talking about that in full next week. Have a live show, Tuesday preview show, time TBD, but later in the evening, post-dinner time, East Coast, Eastern Standard Time. So we'll be back Sunday, Monday. Wrap up the weekend at golf. Start looking ahead to the PGA. Thank you, Joseph. I love and appreciate your work and your contributions. And I'm just giving you shit about wine, golf, and any other manner of behaviors. It's part of the bit. PJ, thank you for joining us. By the way, check out the Shotgun Start YouTube channel. The boys are cooking a little bit with some Monday scramble, little extra videos on the Shotgun Start YouTube channel. Check that out. We'll have more of those next week. Thank you, Bryson. YouTube. YouTube. YouTube. Talk to you on Monday. We're just trying to grow the game of golf.
