President Trump departing Beijing today following a two day high stakes summit with Chinese president Xi Jinping. The two leaders meeting for more than two hours at the start of the trip. President Xi offering a public welcome emphasizing the two countries mutual interests. The people of China and the United States are both great peoples. Achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and making America great again can go hand in hand. We can help each other succeed and advance the well-being of the whole world. We both believe that the China-US relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the world. We must make it work and never mess it up. Both China and the United States stand to gain from cooperation and lose from confrontation. Our two countries should be partners rather than rivals. But behind closed doors, President Xi reportedly making clear the most sensitive topic for his country remains Taiwan. According to China's foreign ministry, China's leader warning President Trump that Taiwan is the key issue in the US-China relationship and that if it is mishandled, the two countries could have quote clashes or even conflicts. Beijing claiming Taiwan a small island nation off its coast as part of China while Taiwan operates as its own self-governing democracy. For decades, the US walking a careful line on Taiwan, maintaining unofficial ties with the island, supporting its ability to defend itself and publicly opposing any attempt by China to take it by force. Washington does not formally recognize Taiwan as an independent country, but it does supply Taiwan with weapons. The US approach known as strategic ambiguity, leaving unclear exactly how far Washington would go to defend Taiwan in an effort to deter China from invading without encouraging Taiwan to formally declare its independence. After the US-China meeting, Secretary of State Marco Rubio telling NBC, the US posture toward Taiwan remains unchanged. From our perspective, any forced change in the status quo and the situation that there now would be bad for both countries, ultimately it's featured prominently in President Xi's mandate and the time he's been in office, and it's clear that what they call reunification, what they call it, is something that has to happen at some point. We think it would be a terrible mistake to force that through force or anything of that nature. There would be repercussions for that globally, not just from the United States. And we kind of leave it there. That sort of ambiguity is what I think has defined the way we characterize this issue and the reason being is strategic ambiguities. We don't want to see conflict. We don't want to see something disruptive happen because I think it would be very disruptive for the world and for both countries. President Xi's warning on Taiwan coming as another major point of tension also loomed over the summit, the US war with Iran, and the struggle to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The conflict taking up significant attention inside the summit, with President Trump facing domestic pressure over rising gas prices tied to the disruption and China under pressure as the world's top buyer of Iranian oil. President Trump telling Fox News that President Xi pledged not to provide military equipment to Iran, adding that the two leaders found common ground on the need to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. He did offer, he said, if I can be of any help at all, I would like to be of help. He did say that. Yeah, he did say that. And look, anybody that buys that much oil obviously got some kind of a relationship with him. But he said, I would love to be of help. If I could be of any help whatsoever, he'd like to see the Hormuz Strait open. He said, if I could be of any help whatsoever, I would like to help. Secretary Rubio later clarifying to NBC that the US did not request help from China, but that both sides share the same goal for the crucial waterway. Did President Trump raise the issue of Iran with China? He did. And it was important because the Chinese side said they are not in favor of militarizing the Straits of Hormuz and they're not in favor of a tolling system. And that's our position. We will never support an Iranian tolling system in the Straits of Hormuz, nor do we think they have a right to put mines in international waters. And so it's good that we have alliance or at least agreement on that point. Also producing a major economic announcement, President Trump telling Fox that China agreed to order 200 Boeing aircraft. Former reality TV star Spencer Pratt's underdog campaign for LA Mayor gaining some momentum after a debate between the race's top three candidates earlier this month. A new Emerson College poll showing Mayor Karen Bass still leading the pack with 30% support. Pratt in second now with 22% ahead of Nithya Raman at 19%. All three candidates gaining ground since March as undecided voters start making up their minds. Bass and Raman each up 10 points. Pratt up 12 while the share of undecided voters has dropped dramatically from 51% to just 16 now. Pratt also gaining support from a growing list of high powered LA business and entertainment figures. The New York Times deal book reporting Pratt has drawn backing from names including billionaire financier Dan Loeb, crypto entrepreneurs Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, LA Lakers controlling owner Jeannie Busse and more. Producer and Democratic fundraiser Nicole Avant, the wife of Netflix co-CEO Ted Serandos, also reportedly planning to support him. In a recent appearance on KNX News, Pratt saying one anonymous billionaire backer is preparing a major donation if he wins. I've met with multiple billionaires this week that when I'm mayor, one guy is willing to already who did this for New York, his family, they donate $300 million in New York, he's willing to go up to $500 million for Los Angeles. There's people that when I'm mayor want to privately... You say who that is? He wants to be the anonymous funds are. The election is set for June 2nd and if no candidate clears 50%, the top two finishers advance to a November 3rd runoff. Coming up, newly released interrogation video shows the Utah killer now known as Mia Bailey calmly confessing to murdering his parents after a dispute over his planned gender surgery and the man who helped supply Matthew Perry's fatal dose of ketamine sentenced to prison. Newly released interrogation footage revealing the chilling moments when Mia Bailey, a man pretending to be a woman, calmly admits to killing his parents. The gruesome double murder occurring June 18th, 2024 in Washington City, Utah. Then 28 year old Bailey born as Colin Bailey before legally changing his name. Bailey telling investigators he had wanted to transition since childhood but said his parents did not learn of it until 2019, roughly five years before the murders. In footage obtained by KUTV, the investigator pressing Bailey on whether his transition had been a major source of conflict with his mother. Was that a big topic of contention between you and her? It was a huge topic which was more like how could I put it, not very supportive, she didn't shop just didn't say anything. Bailey describing his family dynamic as abusive, saying he was homeless, $20,000 in debt from hormone replacement therapy and other costs tied to his transition. At the time of the murders, Bailey telling investigators he had been planning to proceed with so-called gender reassignment surgery set for the following month. Bailey telling police his insurance was expected to cover roughly half the cost with a payment plan for the rest and that his father had planned to help cover part of the remaining balance. But Bailey confessing that the final breaking point came when his mother contacted the hospital ahead of the surgery. What led up to it was my got a call from my social worker from the hospital, had one thing going on and stood there for me. Can you help me understand, so with you being your age, how was your mom in control of that yes or no? I mean you're how old? Almost 30? 28, yeah. And you're still getting in your mom's is the one that sang the internet on a surgery that has nothing to do with it? It was more like she was trying to sabotage it. She has always had boundaries. She has never told her where he lived. Do you know what she said? I'm going to get the details that she just said some stuff to the doctor. You're going to have to ask the social worker. I was like, well, you know, enough is enough. Take somebody with me. Bailey then describing going to his parents home with a gun he said he had purchased from a local pawn shop, running through the door and shooting his mother first. Bailey then moving to another part of the house to shoot and kill his father. The killer then fleeing the scene triggering an hours long manhunt before police finally took him into custody. Bailey telling the investigator he has no regrets. If you could go back to yesterday, would you change the outcome of your mom and dad? I don't think there's any way to change their minds and they'll, if they change their minds, which I know they're not because there's some narcissistic. I mean, it would be played out completely differently. So all of their answers was on them. They had their chance. I didn't want to become the monster that they made me to be. I really wanted to be good. I really did. But I guess that that was a last resort and last draw. I never got it. I hate them. In November 2025, Bailey pleading guilty to two counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated assault, sentenced in December to two consecutive terms of 25 years to life in prison, with an additional zero to five year sentence for aggravated assault. Bailey now serving his sentence at the Central Utah Correctional Facility in Gunnison, Utah, where he is housed with male inmates in accordance with his actual sex. Licensed drug addiction counselor Eric Fleming sentenced Wednesday to two years in federal prison, pleading guilty to helping supply the ketamine that led to friends actor Matthew Perry's fatal overdose in October 2023. 54 year old Perry found unresponsive in a hot tub at his LA home, the LA County Medical Examiner, ruling his death an accidental ketamine overdose with drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of Ruponorphine, a drug used to treat opioid use disorder, listed as contributing factors. I own it. I did it and I own it. And I deserved a consequence and I got a consequence. And I just, my chest and heart hurt every day for the pain I've caused, not only his family, but the millions of people who adored him.
