•Feb 4, 20264 months agoSummary
Shep Rose from Southern Charm discusses his evolving relationships, upcoming book on ayahuasca experiences, and navigates the tension between castmates Austin and Craig. He reflects on personal growth, dating intentions, and his role as a mediator in the show's most contentious season.
Insights
- Shep positions himself as a political moderate within the cast, refusing to blindly support either Austin or Craig despite close friendships, suggesting mature conflict navigation in reality TV
- Vulnerability is reframed as strength rather than weakness, influencing Shep's approach to relationships and personal branding after ayahuasca experiences
- The show is intentionally shifting toward younger cast members (Sally, Charlie) to capture more dramatic conflict, with older cast members like Shep serving as stabilizing forces
- Reality TV authenticity extends off-camera; cast dynamics are equally complex and contentious without production influence
- Dating app usage and intention-driven dating represent a shift in how established reality TV personalities approach relationships after years of on-camera romance

Perhaps an eternal bachelor. An author, maybe an Austin and Craig Whisperer. We love him for his vocabulary, his quick wit. And putting his heart on his sleeve via text. Please welcome to the podcast, Chef Rose. Yes, hi everybody. How are you? Turtle, that means I'm going to live forever, right? Exactly. Exactly. Exactly. How's it going? It's good. Who's in the Bay area? I'm in San Francisco. Oh, super bowl is coming to your city here. Yes. Yes. Yes, and Courtney is coming up. She is a big Pat Span. And you know what's crazy? I was just in, um, in Honolulu for a few days. And I sat down at the bar at Turtle Bay watching pro football, the early playoffs. And this guy was next to me and we started talking about football. And then he was like, hey, he leaned in. He was like, don't tell anybody, but I'm on the Seahawks. He was a by-week for them. So like they, they could do whatever they wanted. And his like, and his fiance was there. We ended up having a great time. And he said to me, if we make it to the Super Bowl, I'll get you tickets. But I haven't, I haven't hit him up on it because I think he's just saying that it'd be nice. I feel like you have to do that. Like, send a text today. Oh, yeah. That's what I'm going to do. Discrack the most important game of his life. You know, he said he would do it. You're just holding him to his word. I know, but how many times have you given your word at a hotel bar and the whole way? Fair, fair, fair hotel bars always get you into trouble. Speaking of travel, we know you've been traveling a ton. Tell us a little bit more about getting stuck in St. Bart's. Oh, yeah, yeah. That was cool. I've never been to St. Bart's. My parents used to go like 30 years ago when we were kids. And they went for like five years straight. They loved it. And I was like, when are you taking us? They're like, never. Yeah. It's definitely an adult place. And so I got invited. They were like, when there's a room in a house. And I was like, I've got to go. Like, this is a, I wouldn't say bucket list, but it's something you need to experience. I feel like. And the group was a good group. And yeah, we're down there. Had a ball. And we're trying to fly back. And with the St. Bart's, we were on the runway for four hours. And then they said, get off the plane. This is before the Venezuelan attack. We thought, okay, we'll leave tomorrow morning. So we get a hotel room and say, Martin, that was a whole adventure. Well, I mean, that wasn't easy because it's in the middle of the holiday season. We drive halfway around the island. Finally find a room. Our few rooms. And then we wake up and it's like, hey, we're not going anywhere. And like nobody's going anywhere for a little while. Yeah, which is pretty surreal. So the guys with was like, we're going to rent a boat and go back to St. Bart's. I'd rather be stuck there than in St. Bart's, which I wholeheartedly agree. So we went back and we were just kind of like enjoying the adversity. That's all you can do at that point. Come on. Where's places to be stuck at in that situation? But also like St. Bart's was like the place for New Year's Eve. I feel this past year. Oh my God. It really is. And honestly, like, word to the wise, don't go there for New Year's Eve is amateur hours, you know, anyway. So like, if I go back, when I go back, it'll be like a quieter, more intimate weekend. It was a zoo, but it was still awesome. It was absolutely amazing. And the places are run wonderfully and the service is great and all that stuff. It's the most beautiful people I've ever seen anywhere in my life. Well, I mean, I think it's funny because you did a video and like, Jacelle Bryant from Potomac was in it, using completely oblivious that she's on Bravo, both of you. And then Tink's as well. What other, what other celebs did you bump into? You mean that I actually recognize? Did someone point it out like how quickly after you posted that video? Is that Jacelle? Rod Rigo and Austin were like, you realize you just walked by a Potomac health. I was like, no, I don't know these things, but I think it's funny. Yeah, she would recognize me either. I mean, it was out of context. Yeah, fair. It was just like a classic though, where I was like, is that Jacelle and her daughters? Like just watching that and just neither of you realizing the other one was standing right here. I wonder if we have put it together. Like I probably would have joined them at the table. Yeah. I think something that I would have done. Did you see Bethany? No, I didn't. But I loved getting to know Tinks. Yeah. It was so funny how we met. And then like we saw each other again later on that day, but we're meeting another friend. I didn't know that she was friends with this friend. And so then we just decided, okay, we're buddies. So yeah, she's really funny and really smart. Sharp girl. Will you see her while you're in New York? Yeah, I've loved to. I've messaged her letter now. I was in town. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. I was pretty confused. weekend. Well, it was fun having Whitney there. I mean, Whitney wouldn't go there with a 10-foot pole in the past and I don't think he will in the future. But it was fun having him there. I don't know. I think Vegas is in my favorite. It's just like sensory overload. That weekend especially, you're like a beetle. It's kind of crazy, just the amount of attention and like eyes on you and everything goes on. Yeah, exactly. Well, it was pretty well run this year. They sort of took it easy on us, meaning we didn't have a ton of obligation. I think the few years passed that your head is spinning by the end of the day. And it was a little more measured. I love it for the fans, you know, but probably ends there for my further Bravo gun. You got a little bit of hot water talking about page and Craig. This was like not a panel or anything. Do you stand behind those comments? It's obviously like secretly recorded out of context a little bit. But honestly, I was frustrated. I had done the watch what happens live in on the big stage with everybody and everybody had a microphone and something was said about Craig. And I tried to jump in, but I couldn't get a word in, which is unusual for me. So I was frustrated, probably had one, two, many cocktails and I spouted off to some friends, actually. Yeah, I regret it. I regret it. You can get your point across way more effective. If you're calm and collected, you know what I mean? So you're almost there. It was like the last night of Bravo car. I was like, Oh, man, you had such a good Bravo car. It's like this. You learn some things like that and you're you promise that won't happen again. And that's okay. It's all part of life. Speaking of Craig losing control last week's episode was insane. That dinner, you know, you're right in between Austin and Craig. You said very quiet for the chef that we know, are you team Austin, team Craig, take us through that dinner, like how you were feeling. I mean, for once I was speechless. That was as contentious of a dinner as I've ever been at. And here's the thing. I mean, Austin, after the dinner, Craig went a separate way. That's okay. Austin said, Why didn't you stick up for me? You know, we're such good friends. I was like, Yeah, we are Austin, but like, I don't have to agree with everything you said. Feel the same way about Craig. Some things I'm like, Oh, yeah, good point. Other things are like, you're totally off base. And I think the same thing about the other one. So it's almost like, and I don't want to get into this at all, but like it's almost like politics. Like I'm not on the extreme. I'm somewhere in the middle. And I agree with some of the things on this side and some of the things on the other side. So I'm not going to just blindly support somebody. I think that again, like there's some things that I think they can both look in the mirror and hopefully admit and maybe own up to that would help their relationship. But I don't know if they're ever going to get there. They'll have to ask chat GBT maybe. Maybe help with the therapy. I mean, I'm with you on that. I'm like, Austin, you make some really good points. Craig, you make some really good points. And Austin will sometimes kind of poke and prod a little bit and then Craig goes in for the kill. They're both doing this push and pull with each other. Yeah, I mean, this is years and years in the making, right? And even Austin will admit, like for many years, he was second fiddle and Craig loved playing the role of first fiddle. I don't think it was like nefarious or bad intention. But I think after a while, Austin correctly was like, wait a second. And he'd, but he, it takes two to tango in that dichotomy of a relationship. So I think Austin's trying to say, no, no, no, I'm, I'm my own fiddle and you've got your own fiddle. But that takes time. It takes time to work out the sort of the scars and and the internal debates that you have with yourself. So I'm hoping there could be a like a nice resolution. And I think there will be because we've had so much fun together. We, there's a lot of love there. What's the last thing that the three of you guys did together? We went out to dinner at this restaurant I just invested in in Charleston called Kultura. And it was so funny. Craig, Craig came in and just started being Craig, you know, just like, and then Austin came in a little later and they've sat no CGE other and they were like, just like old times, I was just like, oh my God, it's, it's happening again. Then they got an argument later on after dinner because somebody spilled a drink on Austin and all this stuff. So it's just funny. It's, it's definitely brother type relationship that can be sort of muddied the waters. So what you're saying is everyone is authentically themselves on camera and off camera. Oh my God. Yeah, the truth like off camera is just as nutty maybe more so. Okay, you're at Craig's house for some time. How was being his roommate? How long were you there? I was there for like four days. Okay, a quick, a quick roommate situation. He's got a great heated pool and a hot tub as we know, hot tub was like a character this season. Truly, truly. So you were an attendee of the hot tub off camera. Yeah, of course. And then he always, he's into the grill. So we were eating hot dogs and burgers and he orders Uber eats a lot. And so he's a great host, really. You're never hungry. Wonderful. Speaking of the hot tub, but let's talk a little bit about Sally. You know, you kind of have a little bit of history with Sally. What are your thoughts on her this season? I mean, she's wide open. Like I, I respect it. You know, I'm think that she might regret some of the things that she said, but maybe she doesn't. And that there's a sort of a freedom in that, right? Like I am who I am. Yeah, I'm a little naughty or a little inappropriate, but hey, who cares? And she's great for the show that there's no doubting that. Yeah. I love her. I was trying to convince myself that she didn't get the chickens for Craig. I think that has been proven wrong, but it was something I was willing to stick up for her for. Sure. You can't say like a lot either because obviously we're like middle of the season, but we got the midseason trailer. Mexico looks absolutely insane. I'm like, take me there. What happens on that trip without giving too much away with the Austin and Sally relationship? Like she's obviously kind of jump ship on Craig. It looks like we're moving towards Austin and Sally being together. I think she obviously has the affinity for Austin, right? And I think Austin rightfully so is a little cautious because of his recent breakup. And what are the rules there? I don't know what the rules are. I know it's the rules have been broken in the past by some of our. I was going to say it feels very circular within this group of. Yeah. I'd have dated them or hooked up, but so will I? And you know, just maybe which fiddle you're playing, right? Right. So I mean, yeah, and I'm sure you saw on the trailer a kiss or two. I don't think it went further than that, but I know that they're really close and they talk all the time to this day. So Sally's a lot of fun. She's good sport. Do you think they're a good match? Probably not, but I mean, I'm trying to rack my brain. Like, you'd have to be as a guy. Someone who's pretty, pretty fun loving and shrug off certain things, comments that have been made. And I don't know. I think Austin might be a little too sensitive for that. Let's take a break and we'll be right back. What about your other like the new castmates I've joined this show? We got Charlie this season. We have Whitner who we're not seeing a ton of, but I think they've been good additions to the cast. I wholeheartedly agree. I mean, Charlie, you know, so so gorgeous and she's single and like, talk about, you know, I'm not a feeding frenzy, but that's sort of the thing like, you know, a bright shiny object and everybody's head turns like we're a bunch of fish. And so that was good because it caused, you know, and honestly, I'm watching and I'm seeing Charlie and Craig's dates and stuff. I didn't know that they were saying these things about each other because they were downplaying it to me at least. So I'm like surprised. I'm like a fan of the show now. I'm like, wait a second. I didn't know if I was. Yeah. Will they won't they? I know. And I don't know. You'll have to see what happens. I think it's kind of sweet. I love that side of Craig, you know, that he's really sweet somewhere inside, you know, and sort of innocent, especially when it comes to relationships. So I like seeing them. What's your status right now? Like you're dating. Are you wanting to settle down? I think secretly you do want that even though you will say that you don't. I do. I do. I'm dating with intention as some would say. I don't know. I, you know, my friends who are married, I'll go out to have drinks with them for a lunch maybe on a Saturday and we'll have some wine and in a lot of last. They're like, well, I got to go home. I, you know, wife and young kid. And I'm like, oh, bye. You know, like I wish I had something wholesome to jump to. But no, it's more people who want to meet and watch the ball game at a sports bar. And I just, it's like I kind of want something else. You could do that with a partner. I agree. I want to go home and put my feet up and order in and have a strong reason to do so, you know, on that 4k coffee table, right? Yeah. I returned it. You did. Yeah. I was shocked when I saw it in your house. And I was like, wow, that's so crazy. Yeah, no, it was gigantic. It dominated the room. That's the clip hanger for the second half of the season, by the way, for me and Louise. Are you on the apps? Yeah. I went on a dick last night. In New York. Yeah, second date. We had a really nice time. Would the waiver lean? Oh, fancy. Yeah, I love that spot. It's so cool. And then we watched a little bit of the Grammys and had a really nice time. So there will be a follow up. There's going to be a third. Yeah, of course. And yeah, it's, I'm dating. I'm trying to be, I'm always trying to be upfront honest and realistic. Yeah, we'll see if lightning strikes. I'm definitely open to it. Can I ask the age? No, you cannot. But no, but oh my God. So I went out. I've gone out a few times with a girl who's 43 and really like her. So I have no, so I'm open to it all, you know. Well, last season, Sienna in that text message. That was one of our top 25 moments of Bravo from last year. We're obsessed with that text message. Did you think it would go off the way it did? No, I didn't know. I was just, you know, just starting my, my budding romance novel career. And I stand by it. I mean, I was so like pissed or confused, you know, I was like, wait, how does just things change on a dime with no real explanation? And I know how you feel. And I know how I feel when we told each other how we feel. And now it's just like, it just evaporated. So that for somebody like I'm a practical person. And to me, that was completely impractical. And so maybe that was part of my motivation. Once someone's, once you sort of lose somebody, that's just, that's not going to help. You almost have to like turn your back and and see if they come back. You know, you love something. Let it go kind of thing. It was a learning lesson, if you will. Yeah, I mean, and it's a lesson is old as time, isn't it? We've all been there. Looking back on, do you think you were really in love with her? Do you think it was more almost like the rebound situation from Taylor and just like exploring what else was out there? Yeah, it was a rebound a little bit like, here's, I mean, I don't fall in love. I've only been in love probably like four or five times in my life. And I'm 46. So after Taylor, I just expected years to go by before I felt strongly about somebody. And then all of a sudden this happened. And it was over like an eight month period where we actually took a break in the middle because we liked in the C.I. to I. And then she, we came back, said, look, I feel a certain way. And I think we should continue to see each other. So there was back and forth and like a much conversation about it. So I don't know. And then she's, you know, the hamy. And I love the Baham. You know, there's all these like little ancillary things that attracted me about the whole situation, you know, speaking of Taylor, like one's the last time you ran into her or talked to her. I've spent a little while and I, but I got something really sweet happened recently. This guy wanted to have a drink and talk about this and that. He had some things that I could maybe help them with. And I was like, what, why'd you like, talk to me? He's like, well, Taylor told me to contact you. And I was like, oh, yeah, what she says. She's like, she's really genuine and hope it'll point you in the right direction. And I was like, oh, that's so sweet. I didn't have to hear it from her. I heard it like from the third person, but it's, it gives me happiness that she thinks that way. Because it's true. I think it's true. That's so cute. Any, have you given out any shark tooth necklaces recently? Kind of sell them at BravoCon. I did to not a ton of success there. But we were were you selling them. I feel like we probably would have bought one just for like the kichiness of it. Oh, well, that yeah, they were at Craig's booth or whatever. I don't know. They knew it was confusing. The whole place is such a zoo. It's crazy, you know, yeah, that's our overwhelming. It's overwhelming to say the least. You know what they should do is they should put us all in like sort of different hotels. So it's like less, it's like, it becomes sort of like a hot bed and sort of a cesspool, you know, after a few nights, you can just, you're like, who are you? It's just people trying to see what they can, I don't know, hold shoehorn their way into the scene, you know? Yeah, definitely. I wanted to ask you have a new book that you're writing. You wrote a previous book that we know Madison dressed up on. One, I want to know about the book, but two, I wanted to know about the book cover specifically. If you would be doing some sort of shoot that Madison could recreate at another party in a future season. No, I'll send you the book cover. It's so funny. It's like AI generated and I know eyes are like this. Like it's about me going to do Iowaska. Oh, that was the question I had too. I wanted to know if you've done any more Iowaska. No, I haven't, but I, this is from that first time I did it and I, I was so fascinated by it all. I went, when I do something for the first time and go somewhere for the first time, I become a child. I just all knew and I wide eyed wonderment. So I was journaling because we were all children, at least the people I was there at the retreat with. Everybody didn't know what to expect, but they knew it was going to be maybe life changing, definitely intense. So it was just so fun, like the little interactions. So I was keep journaling and sharing with my friends and they were like, you have to keep going. This is, this is a sterical. It's interesting. And then when I got home, the people that knew that I had gone and done that would tell a friend at a party and then, hey, come sit down. I want to, I want to hear all about it. So I was like, oh, okay, this is a thing that some people are very interested in. Alternative medicine, wellness, that sort of thing. So I decided to keep going and I just, I finished the book a few months ago. Now we just did like the final approval and it'll be out in May and June. I'll do like a book tour. My first book unfortunately was came out during COVID. So I couldn't go, I couldn't go around and talk to people and sell the book. So I'm really looking forward to that this time. Maybe I'll do some stand up too. Did you do an audio version too? I will. Okay. And it's called nothing in moderation. Nothing in moderation. A psychedelic reckoning with excess. And it's literally like basically journaling of the trip to Costa Rica and experience. It's why I went. It's before and during and after. And I'm really honest about some of my behaviors. It's really raw. I warned my parents. I was like, you're not going to love certain parts, but oh well, you know, honesty wins the day. Yeah, I'm excited about it. That's funny because I feel like you actually are very honest. Like you are a chef and you like give it all and show vulnerability. I think a lot of times. So that's actually a product, somewhat of a product of the ayahuasca. It was like my friend there who's a native seal. He said vulnerability is the new masculinity. And I was like, oh, I haven't heard that. When you think about it, it's true. If you're if you're blustery and tough and that means you're probably weak. The opposite is true. You know what I mean, but if you're like actually, this is my weak spot. Let me, you know, do you have any advice from that's that's a position of strength. That means you know yourself and you're comfortable in your own skin. Well, and I feel like that's why you've had longevity on the show. You've stuck around. You're an OG, you know, what would season one chef say to current day shop? Do you think? Well, I think you'd be happy with where where I've how far I've come. I mean, sometimes I feel like I haven't progressed at all. Sometimes I feel like I but I'm just just my inherent in mature nature. But I think I'm in a good place. And that's sort of part of this stuff we were talking about with a serious relationship. And I think that's like a step. That's a natural progression. So I, you know, of course, I'm not going to force it or rush it. But I think that's kind of next. At least I tell them I'm viewing life at the moment. I love it. We did like recently before Mary went on her maternity leave. We did a flashback episode to the glass managerie episode where Thomas like sits you all down and just watching all like a lot of you guys from that episode to now is just I mean, it was so funny watching that episode. Remember, there was a cut to where I'm just kissing Danny in the other room while everybody's yelling at each other. I love that. Are you still in touch with Danny? I'm not. I think she had a I know she had a child. So I'm very happy about that. But I don't know. It's funny. Someone asked me that recently. I do keep in touch with Cameron once a month. Maybe a phone called definitely text and message each other. And then I see Naomi from time to time. I'm happy to see that she's engaged. And I felt Bailey was on Rodriguez party, which I feel like you brought Bailey around a little. Bailey is great. And she's great friends with Rodriguez on Tyler. So yeah, it's it's nice. We're like a big fraternity or a mix between a fraternity and a sorority. Yeah. What about Catherine Dennis or Thomas Ravenel? Once last time you touched base on that. I said something. Catherine got in trouble for posting something. And I sort of out of turn said, you know, I'm concerned. And she'd message me as like, I don't appreciate that. I was like, well, I'm sorry. You know, like, okay, I'll just leave you out of it. And but like I care about her. I always will. She knows that. But unfortunately, you know, I don't know. I don't know. If she turned to me, I would be there in a second. As far as you have, I've seen them around a couple times. And it's like him a big hug. I mean, what a character. You know, like, you know, he's it got his own thing. He had another child. I don't know if you know a third child. I didn't. Oh, I did. No, no. Okay. And so he's got his hands full and then some. Wow. Yeah. Fascinating. Like, Puccino and Dineiro had a kid too. I guess in good company that not quite that age. But whatever. So the reunion is going to be coming up. I'm assuming you guys are filming it relatively soon. Who do you think is going to have the most to answer for? And who do you think it's going to get the most heat? Craig and Austin, I hope that they come to it. I mean, I know that they have to. I mean, Andy will be prepared and we'll try to get to the bottom of things. That's it's funny because I think about it. When it does, when we do shoot it, it's going to be, I don't know where to butt in because everyone has their own story to tell. But I do have an opinion and a point of view. I just don't want to step over somebody's lines kind of thing. I know that Sally has a lot to say because she was sort of right in the middle of things Charlie as well. So it's quite a spicy season and I knew and it and really, I mean, a page turner too. Like, I'm watching and I'm interested in what's going on and what people are saying. The Bravo Comp panel was really interesting because you guys have obviously shot the season, but it hadn't premiered yet. And so Craig kept being like, you guys just have to watch the season. You have to watch the season. You could kind of already see a little bit of tension between Craig and Austin. I don't know that I thought it would go to the depth that it has this season, but it's been fascinating to watch them. Watch all of you guys also maneuver this because like you said, there is this brotherhood and the show really is about the three of you. Well, I mean, it might be a big thing and it has been since let's call it season four is like guys don't pay attention to the chatter. Don't read the comments. Don't read, definitely don't read the blogs in this and that and everybody sort of soberly nods and then goes and does exactly what he shouldn't do. And unfortunately, I think Craig is sort of caught up in that this year. We're blocked by Craig so. Yeah, that sucks because again, I told you that he can be really sweet and great and but you know, if you make him a stay, guess what? Everyone's rooting for you to come back and to be contrite and own it and stuff like that. So these are things he knows, but I just think he's been, yeah, I think he's having a tough time with this season and that pains me to see because I want the best for him. And we've been through a lot together and he's fucking brilliant, right? Like he the show can't go on. I mean, he's a big, big, big part of the show and sometimes we take our lumps and that's the way it goes, you know? You definitely had done that. I think in the previous season, it's definitely hot to be excited. Remember when I got in like that terrible argument over an egg toss? Like I couldn't even watch that. I looked like Taylor. Yeah, yeah. I think this season has been really good for you, which leads me to ask, as you know, every year, we have our March Manness competition, which is voting on the hottest problem. You know how much I love that. And you are, you are a good sport every year. You let us, you usually tell us like choose a photo on my behalf. We check it. Do you potentially just want to start the campaign? It does happen next month and you could start your campaign now. I've never once wanted to be hot. I'll say that right now. Not once in my life, did I thought about that? Hot can be in your mind. You're more in funny, smart and funny are my benchmarks. Yeah. That is part of it. You know, we tell people vote how you want. It could be on physical attractiveness. It could be the well-rounded person. They're a good partner. They're smart. They're funny. These are all factors that go into it. So I think that's playing to your strengths. All right. Vote for me, everybody. Actually, that captain from Blow Deck wins every year, right? And Devilshley. Once you win, you're retired. So he did. You are. Oh, you are. Oh, yes. You've known it for 30 years for me to win. This could be your year shop. I could see it. Oh my god. You made that imagine if Southern Charm was on in 30 years. I was like in an old person. That is what insisted paycheck. Where do you think the show is going? I don't know. That's a good question. I think it's transitioning. Whether it's whether it's purposefully doing so into sort of the younger generation and not like 20 something, like Sally and her contemporaries who, by the way, are out on the town every night and having fun and doing what I mean, Craig and Austin did years ago. So I don't think we're going anywhere unless ends it ends. I'm not going to cry in my cereal or anything. But I think, smartly, it should be a little more skewed younger because those are the people that have the most conflict in turmoil in their lives. And I'm in a place where I'm just really good. I'm just really happy. I don't want any enemies. I'll call it like I see it and that might cause some friction. But I've got like a big boy house. I'm doing renovations. I got things other things I'm working up book. You know, I don't know if I'm going to move the needle. But maybe I continue. I mean, when someone tells me that I haven't, then we'll cross that bridge. I think you have it and you still to move that needle. Oh, thanks. Tell us about the house. I start renovations in a couple of weeks. And it's a big project. It's expensive. I'm like, but it's going to be so awesome when it's done, which will be a way is for now. I understand that. And it's just the perfect little neighborhood. My cousin lives across the street. My fraternity brother lives four houses down. Another friend lives right behind me. We share a fence. It's just like it's like pleasant feel or something, you know, you're excited to fill the home. Yes, because and then you have like a golf car and you really don't even have to get in your car unless you want to, you have errands to run somewhere else. But so you just sort of exist on this little bubble. It's it's really great. And then how far is that from like Madison's or Craig's? Madison's probably 15 minutes away. Craig is 10. And when you stay with Craig during the renovations? I'm going to I have my other house on Isle of Palm still so I'll be able to use that. But I'm actually looking forward to being bag of bond, if you will. So that's sort of my natural state of being, but but then again, if we're talking relationships, that prevents me from, you know, real, yeah. So it's tough. Like, but perhaps you're traveling to New York because this third date is going to turn into the fourth, the fifth, and then you know, you're just going back and forth in between. Maybe so. Maybe so. And I'm open to it. I'm open to all of it. One more break and we'll be right that. The modern game. Beautiful. Fast. Clinical. So why I'm almost betting now stuck in 2005. The miracle in Istanbul. We want to maybe wrap up with some superlatives from your cast, most dramatic on the cast. Sally. Who's the biggest peacemaker? Me. The biggest instigator. Rod. Oh, wasn't expecting. He is the gossip king of Charles, but he tells me that on the same things. So who knows? The strongest strategist of the group. Bragg, although maybe he's not doing so right this season, but he does not take a stupid breath. You know, he's always thinking. The best secret keeper. Freaking nobody. I mean, give me a ring. No, let's keep our mouth shut. Who makes for a great show, though? Okay. There's the hardest worker. Craig. This kind of goes with instigator, but the biggest gossip would be Rod and Austin and me. We're all tied. We're bad. Okay. So then this is like a twofold. The biggest kiss and tell of the group and the biggest kiss and no tell of the group. Austin's big kiss and no tell. He plays it very close to the vest. I'm trying to tell him, hey, man, you're sickle. It's okay. What's wrong? Do you like her? It's okay. He doesn't want anyone to know his... He doesn't want to know what DMs are happening behind his back. I can't tell. I mean, but I don't do it disrespectfully, but I'm like, oh my God, I went on it a day. We had so much fun. Here's why I like her and that sort of thing. Obviously, Sally's not afraid to kiss and tell either. Wait, who does it kiss and tell is Craig and Charlie? I never knew that they were even like as a fan, as a watcher. I'm like, wait a second. That's actually kind of sweet. I didn't know that they were having these nice conversations. So I'm interested to see how that plays out. I was soon there's multiple group chats throughout the cast. Would you have like a main one on the cast that went something like that happens? That you're like, what the hell, guys? We do. I commented. I was like, y'all, I've been on this show for 11 seasons now. This is the most cohesive and self-deprecating chat I've ever been on. We tell jokes. We make fun of each other. We make fun of ourselves. There's really a closeness, which I think is very beautiful. We're all in this ship of fools. Just enjoy the ride. Thank you so much for coming on. We look forward to your new book and we will chat again soon. Okay, Mary. I'll see you soon. I'll recognize and remember. Thank you. I get those super bowl tickets and maybe we'll see you in SF. Okay, you guys have fun. Don't get too much trouble. All right. Bye, chef. The modern game. Beautiful, fast, clinical.
