It's time to see what you can accomplish with Shopify by your side. hey everybody i'm zach and i'm jesse you're watching tesla time news episode 623 on now you know so the boring company posted transporting proofrock 2 across las vegas This TBM or boring machine section weighs 465,000 pounds and the monster, which is beneath the TBM, weighs 140,000 pounds. Proof Rock 2 will be next relaunched directly off the monster to build its fifth tunnel. So Proof Rock 2 recently finished its fourth tunnel, the 2.3 mile tunnel that came out near the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino. When the loop is done, there will be 68 miles of tunnel in 104 stations in Las Vegas. I don't think most people know that. No. And what really bugs me is that it hasn't been included in any kind of heist movie because it's Las Vegas. So what's it going to be called? Ocean's Prufrock? They would be on Ocean's 14 or 8. 8. Oh, right. And I didn't know this. Michelle posts a lot about what's going on with Prufrock in Las Vegas. So if you want to follow them, update Boring Company Las Vegas Loop Westgate Station. The entrance walls are finished for the new airport tunnel. The next step is the entrance arch and the roll up gate. In the past, this took about a week. So it's hard because you're not used to looking at this kind of construction site, but see those two tubes. And then if we look at this far right photo, we're seeing the tubes from the side. We're looking at them from what it looks like looking down on them. But those are the tubes, the tunnels that are going to head off to the airport. That's cool. It's really cool. Elon reposted this from Tesla. For a driver born without arms, FSD supervised is life changing accessibility. John says, I was born without arms and I've driven with my feet my entire life. I'm a fully licensed driver, and traditionally I drove with my left foot on the steering wheel and my right foot handling the gas and brake. My only legal restrictions are automatic transmission and power steering. Over the years, though, the strain for my congenital birth defects have led to significant arthritis in my hips. I drove a Model 3 for the past seven years, and it honestly helped extend my independence in a huge way. Recently, upgrading to the Model Y, along with full self-driving, has been a complete game changer for me. It dramatically reduces the physical pressure and fatigue of driving and has helped preserve a level of freedom and mobility that means a great deal to me. Most people understandably think of Tesla in terms of innovation or sustainability. But for some of us, this technology truly becomes life changing accessibility. John F. And Elon replied the heart emoji. Yeah, this is a game changer. I don't think people understand how FSD is going to change independence for so many people who may not be able to drive. Or drive as well or drive as comfortably. Exactly. Exactly. Kids, dogs, older people, right? It's going to be a game changer. So on Patreon bonus stories today, we're going to be talking about a road rage incident involving a Tesla. And look, unfortunately, we live in a world full of sketchy people. We don't like it. You don't like it. But if you're not alert and you're not prepared, bad things can happen. That's just how it is. That's why we worked with the engineers at EVJECT to help them develop this. This is the EVJECT Breakaway Escape Connector. It is the only way that you can drive away from an EV charger without getting out of your EV to unplug it. And look, we hope you never need it. But if you do need it, then you need it. Jesse and I do not drive without it, and neither should you. According to a confidential filing with the SEC, if SpaceX reaches a valuation of $7.5 trillion and SpaceX helps establish a permanent human settlement on Mars for at least a million residents, then Elon will get awarded 200 million super voting restricted shares of SpaceX stock. I'm sorry, can you go back? I missed the last part. I heard the $7.5 trillion valuation, but what was the second part again? Oh, SpaceX has to establish a permanent human settlement on Mars with at least 1 million residents to unlock that award. Wow. That's an actual thing the board is giving him. Yeah. The SpaceX IPO roadshow should begin the week of June 8th. SpaceX is reportedly looking to raise billion on a trillion valuation with up to 30 of shares reserved for us retail investors So it possible that the IPO would happen on Elon birthday which is June 28th but that is not confirmed Now on Investor Club Bonus Stories today which is over on Patreon you can join us there for as little as 10 bucks a month We'll discuss what this would mean for Elon if he achieves this goal. We'll also talk about what it would mean for our SpaceX shareholders. So we'll see you there. You're not a SpaceX shareholder yet. No, I am. Oh, yeah, you are. All right, it's time for some SpaceX news. The FCC has just approved SpaceX's $17 billion purchase of about 65 megahertz of exclusive continuous nationwide spectrum from EcoStar. OK, can you translate that, please? How much? How do you give someone a megahertz? I know, right? All right. So this spectrum enables a big upgrade from SpaceX's current limited bandwidth. So right now, when you are out in the middle of nowhere and you can't see a cell tower and you want to transmit something, it goes up to a Starlink. But it's limited in bandwidth. So you can pretty much only text. With this purchase, SpaceX will be able to offer reliable voice and high-speed data, potentially 5G-like performance, which is 10 to hundreds of megabits per second from unmodified smartphones. You don't have to have a special smartphone. SpaceX posted this, it's no secret that we intend to launch Starship a lot, targeting thousands of flights per year. That cadence will require the ability to launch from many different locations. So we are constantly exploring to find viable sites to expand Starship operations in the future, both domestically and internationally. And Elon went on to say SpaceX is considering several locations domestically and internationally to build the world's most advanced spaceports. There's one location down in Louisiana right now that looks like they might be buying from mobile for maybe one of the next spaceports. There's going to be lots. Spaceports. Spaceports. It's like an airport. But for space. It's got to be bigger than an airport, you think? I don't know. I don't necessarily think so. I feel like I have a bad sense of scale when it comes to spaceports because all we have is Boca Chica and it's kind of a weird size. Well, here's the thing. There's a plane landing like every minute at an airport. True. Whereas here, I don't know that you'd have that many rockets landing all the time. So maybe they will be slightly smaller. I mean, it would be probably a launch cadence of Elon said around an hour. Right. You got to get them off the tower. So it's like 60 times less planes. So maybe it's 60 times smaller. But like how much louder is the rocket? but then the rocket can come in from above. These spaceports have to be far from humans. Like they're usually going to be at sea or in places like here in Louisiana. It's like the middle of a huge marsh because they're loud. Right. I mean, not that most people like to live near an airport either. But they do. They do. SpaceX posted this. Starship's 12th flight test will debut the next generation Starship and super heavy vehicles powered by the next evolution of the Raptor engine and launching from a newly designed pad at Starbase. The launch is targeted as early as Tuesday, May 19th. Ooh, that's soon. Depends on weather and stuff. And Elon said Starship launch next week. And when Starship launches, one of the objectives will be to film Starship's heat shield from two of the deployed Starlink simulators after Starship's PEZ dispensers them out into orbit. So they're going to have 12 fake satellites that go out and two of those are going to have cameras on them. And they're going to follow the orbit and be able to film it so that they can see what happens from the outside to the heat shields. Starting a business can be overwhelming. You're juggling multiple roles, designer, marketer, logistics manager, all while bringing your vision to life. Shopify helps millions of business sell online. Build fast with templates and AI descriptions and photos, inventory and shipping. Sign up for your one euro per month trial and start selling today at shopify.nl. That's shopify.nl. It's time to see what you can accomplish with Shopify by your side. www.fey.org period of an ene reprimand of shopper five.eu how cameras but darling how does it when you're coming into the atmosphere yeah i would have thought because starship is so much heavier that the drag would pull the oh i mean i don't know yeah i don't know i mean we may not get the whole shot or whatever but it's gonna be that's nuts now several of starship's heat shield tiles have been painted white to simulate missing tiles and serve as imaging targets in the test Now, what's been updated for Flight 12? I mean, because a lot of things are changing all the time. It's not the same old Starship, right? So let's talk about the super heavy booster. This is number 19 that they've built. It's a version three booster. So the first time we get to see this, the grid fins have been reduced from four to three, and each fin is now 50% larger and stronger and repositioned with new catch points and lowered on the booster to reduce heat exposure during hot staging. They have integrated hot staging. So this eliminates the disposable interstage shield booster dome So now it basically is directly exposed to that upper stage engine ignition There a new fuel transfer system So massive redesign of the transfer tube It the size of a Falcon 9 first stage for simultaneous startup of all 33 Raptors and faster, more reliable flip maneuvers. The engine bay has a simplification. Basically, the engine shrouds have been removed entirely and new shielding was added between the engines. Yeah. And the propulsions and avionics have been tightly integrated. So there's now CO2 fire suppression systems deleted for lighter aft section. I guess you can't put out the fires. It's supposed to be on fire. It's a rocket. For propellant loading, they switched to two separate quick disconnect systems for redundancy and reduced pad complexity. Now switching over to the Starship itself, that's number 39 that they've built. And this is a version three. So the first time we've seen this complete propulsion system redesign, new Raptor startup sequence, larger propellant volume, improved reaction control and lower risk of trapped or leaked propellant. The aft section has had a simplification with fluid and electrical systems rerouted and the engine shrouds and a large aft cavity was deleted. Now the flap actuation has changed from two actuators per flap to one actuator with three motors. So better redundancy, lower mass, lower cost. Faster Starlink deployment via the upgraded PEZ dispenser. There's a long duration orbital capacity. So there's new systems for extended coasts, orbital refueling and cryogenic fluid management with vacuum insulated header tanks and high voltage cryogenic recirculation. So they're keeping it cooled more so they can do more things out in space. Keep it cool, buddy. That's interesting because, yeah, all of the fuel is cryogenically cold. Yeah. And you have to keep it cold. And you're like, but space is cold. But it's not. Right. Because the sun can heat it up. It's just a vacuum. They've been working on ship to ship docking and refueling hardware. They have four docking drogues plus dedicated propellant transfer connections. We're not going to see any of this actually happen. But they're getting ready because they have to be able to refuel in space. Major avionics overhaul. So 60 custom units with integrated batteries, inverters, high voltage systems, nine megawatts of peak power, new multi-sensor navigation, RF propellant measurement in microgravity, 50 onboard cameras, 480 megabit per second Starlink connectivity. And another one. The Raptor 3s are now there. So we've got higher thrust, we've got lower mass and a simpler design, and we've got Launchpad 2 now, a dedicated pad for version 3. It has a larger propellant farm with more pumps for faster loading. You got the chopsticks, which are those shorter arms with electromechanical actuators, which replace hydraulics for better reliability. There's a stronger quick disconnect arm that swings farther away. We got redesigned launch mounts for better load handling and protection. New bi-directional flame diverter, which eliminates post-launch ablation and refurbishment. Right. And hardened propellant systems with fully separated methane oxygen lines and protected valves and filters. I mean, we're now getting into the important stuff that has to happen if you're going to be relaunching these all the time. It's quite incredible. So when you see this next launch, be looking for different things because it's going to be a completely different system. Yeah, everything there is practically new. It's amazing. Now, according to Wall Street Journal. I know. They said exclusive. Google is in talks with SpaceX for a rocket launch deal as the search giant expands its own efforts to put orbital data centers in space. Earlier this year, Elon predicted that, quote, in 36 months, but probably closer to 30 months, the most economically compelling place to put AI will be space. SpaceX will be doing this. It looks like Google wants to hire them to help do it. So every day that you don't have these on your roof, you are missing out. You know that. And you've been meaning to get around to it. But let's be honest. Getting solar is a daunting task. I mean, I remember back in 2012 when I wanted to get solar. I spent countless hours researching and compiling questions and answers. And then this company said this and that guy said that. and I just kept getting more and more stuck not knowing what was the way to go. And let's be honest here, that was because most solar installers have their best interests in mind, not yours. And that's why we love talking about SolarQuestAI.com. It's a place where you can ask all the questions you want and get real answers about solar and batteries. And when you're ready to start, Lincoln and his team will guide you through the whole process like they have with thousands of happy solar system owners. Yeah, go to SolarQuestAI.com today, get your questions answered by the experts in solar. And then be sure to send us photo or video of your new solar system when it gets installed. All right, it's time for our Patreon bonus stories. Don't forget, we're giving away a front cooler. So go join us for as little as a buck a month and you can enter to win all of our upcoming giveaways. And we got lots of Patreon bonus stories and investor club stories. So we'll see you there right now. All right, we're back from Patreon bonus stories. Who do we got for shout outs today? We've got Ben Groskruz. Elaine. Matthias Gotsky. Richard Lucas. And why not? Thank you so much for supporting us. We can't do this show without you. All right, it's time for Elon's X's of the week. Elon said SpaceX team is the best ever in space. And I mean, I guess that's right, because Blue Origin, I guess, would be like second. And it took them 10 years to not even be able to do what Elon's doing today. Elon said high cycle, reliable engine reflight without replacement, refreshment or laborious inspection is about the same degree of difficulty as a rapidly reusable heat shield. And then there are thousands of smaller challenges throughout the primary structure. This is a crazy hard problem. Then Elon tweeted on my way to Beijing in Air Force One Elon responded to this Variety headline that Elon Musk attacks the Odyssey again and claims Christopher Nolan cast Lupita Nyong as Helen of Troy because he wants awards Elon said Chris Nolan is pissing on Homer's grave, disgraceful, and grossly insulted the Greek people. Shame on him. And then Tesla board member Joe Gebbia posted this. And Elon reposted it. Come on! Why won't you open? All right, it's time for community mail time, right? Community mail time. It is time for community mail time. Before we get to Tesla guesser, Yeah. I don't know where this is, so it's not Tesla Guesser, but Ralph sent this really great picture in. Wow. Yeah. Is that like 100 years apart? Yeah. More. I think there's more. Yeah. I like the wheel cover. Those are cool. Those are cool. Thank you, Ralph. All right. It's time for Tesla Guesser. So we're going to show you a bunch of Teslas or electric vehicles around the world. Are we blurring out the plates? Sometimes we'll blur out the plates. It depends on the severity of how hard it is. We're not going easiest to hardest or anything like that. If you're playing at home, you can either grab a piece of paper or just keep it in your head. You're trying to guess where in the world it is. If you can get to the country. All right. Beat me. Let's go. Let's get into it. All right. The first one, Brigitte spotted this Tesla taxi. I know where that is. Okay. Okay. And Voss spotted this wrapped Cybertruck. My name is Jeff. Okay. I don't know. That's a tough one. That one's a tough one. Now, Nate spotted these. That one's going to be kind of tough, but you can see that it's a BYD. Oh, interesting. Not the only BYD we're going to get in this. But not Chinese plates. No. That's a good call. Tim spotted this robo-taxi engineering vehicle. Oh, so it's got the steering wheel. Yes. So you can see the steering wheel in there. Then Carlton spotted this robo-taxi. I'll give you a hint. It is not in the same place as that other cyber cab that we saw. Okay. And that one's tough because. Yeah, not a lot to go on. We got a lot of Carlton. We don't got a lot of car. Yeah. Well, if we know where Carlton lives. Joseph spotted this BYD king. I don't think you're supposed to drive around a car called a king. No kings. This one is not easy either. So we have a lot of hard ones this week. Yeah, it's not to go by. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Wow, vegetation. Those of you who are horticulturists are going to get this. It's all about flora this week. Yeah. Including this one. Michael spotted this Waymo. He said it's not really much of a Tesla guesser. It's more of a wearmo. Thank you, Michael. This one has got some hints. First off, who sent it in? Ahir spotted these Model Ys. We'll put his name on screen. That might give you a hint. Oh, yeah. And then just kind of the overall vibe probably is going to help. And the license plate probably. Yeah. This one has got to be one of the funniest I've seen. This is a Cybertruck, by the way, but it's got a GMC wrap. The license plate says love to eight, which presumably means a V8, which this car absolutely doesn't have. And then you got the enormous fake exhaust pipes, which is hilarious. So the hint would be a place with a really good sense of humor. This kind of humor. Interesting. I don't know. I don't know if that helps anybody. And then last but not least, Nicole spotted this original Tesla Roadster. I think that this is a gimme. I think that you should be able to figure this one out. Really? If you look nice and close. OK. Huh. All right. I guess since we're at the end of the show, let's go through them. All right. All right. So Brigitte's taxi? That is in Zurich, Switzerland. That's why we kept the plate because nothing else really looks like Switzerland to me. I'm going to guess somewhere warm. Florida. Phoenix. There's a Phoenix suburb. Now, can you just guess America? or no, you have to bust the state? I like guessing the state. America is so big. Do you get two points if you get the state, one point if you get America? No, you just get one point. Okay. Sorry. This one, it's got to be Europe, but somewhere cold. Ireland? This is in Wales. So this is in, and forgive my pronunciation, this is in Lanberis, Wales, which is near Urwitfa, or Snowdon, which is the tallest point in Wales. Interesting. Okay. So this has got to be someplace like Austin or something. Where is this? This is in San Francisco. Okay. That makes sense. This one, I have no idea. This one is pretty close to home. Yeah. That's on 495. That cyber cab took the Lowell connector. Oh, wow. So it's in Massachusetts. So it's in Massachusetts. A stone's throw from us. Yeah. Cool. This one, I really don't know because of the fauna. This one's tough. I mean, because obviously you're like, could that be China? But the license plate says not China. Right. That's an American license plate. It's in El Centro, California. Oh, OK. I don't know who is importing BYDs into California. Joseph said that this is the second BYD that he spotted in a week. Oh, OK. They're making their move. All right. So this Wermo, that is in Scottsdale, Arizona. That makes sense. It looks like Arizona. Yeah. And this one looks like Iceland, doesn't it? Yes. And the one where you have to have a good sense of humor? Alberta, Canada. Oh, OK. I think Albertans are very funny. Now, can it roll coal is the question. Can you push a button and... I hope that there is a bubble maker in there because that would be hilarious. And where is this beauty here, this Tesla Roadster? That is in West London. Oh, now why did you say it's a gimme? It just looks like London. Oh, OK. You know, and I mean, it looks to me, it's not exactly, but to me, it looks like Sherlock. Gotcha. Sherlock Holmes. If Sherlock drove a roadster, that'd be cool. What? What car would he? I don't know. Put that in the comments. Anyway, thank you so much for joining us, everybody, today. We'll see you guys on Patreon. Now you know.
