A Response to Trump & The PBD Podcast

•Apr 3, 2026about 2 months agoSummary
Dave Smith responds to criticism from the PBD Podcast debate with Adam Kokesh, then analyzes Trump's escalatory Iran speech threatening to destroy infrastructure and demanding other nations protect oil shipping. Smith argues Trump has destroyed the MAGA coalition by prioritizing foreign wars over domestic economic concerns.
Insights
- Trump's public threats of total infrastructure destruction eliminate any negotiating leverage and make Iranian capitulation politically impossible, escalating rather than resolving conflict
- The contradiction between 'America First' messaging and prioritizing unpopular foreign wars over domestic affordability crises hands Democrats a winning electoral argument
- Defending Trump through escalating foreign policy failures signals complete coalition collapse, making Republican electoral recovery in 2026 unlikely regardless of candidate
- U.S. embargo policies causing civilian harm (Cuba hospital blackouts, ventilator deaths) constitute state-level harm that goes unreported in mainstream media
- Daycare/social program arguments fail when government simultaneously demands resources for wars of choice, exposing the incoherence of the current political positioning

How you feeling Rob? I'm good man. How are you? Good good can't complain, you know, I mean I can and that's what we'll spend the next hour doing but I You know, I'm doing good. Not sure the the nation is but we got a bunch of stuff to get into on the show today By the way guys April 11th remember one night only we will be up in Stamford, Connecticut at the New York Comedy Club up there It's called the New York Comedy Club, but it's in Stamford, Connecticut It's a great club. Come on out. Don't let the name fool you don't be waiting for tickets in New York April 11th two shows up there one night only and then of course the week after that will be back out in Chicago at the at the Rosemont and Chicago Zanies which are two of our favorite clubs in the country So make sure you guys come on out to that comic Dave Smith comm for all those ticket links and of course go check out run your mouth Rob's cranking out content anything else you want to uh, that's right And I did a if you follow nothing in the war You want your friends to get a recap of everything that's going on you can check out my 1950s style newsreel pitching the developments in the war came out pretty good It's the new it's the news that we can't get anymore that we really need Rob turns out We just needed 1950s style coverage of this and it would it would bring it all to its to a close. All right So look obviously there's there's a lot to get to in Donald Trump's speech last night Which is really quite something So I want to get into that. I do Rob. I just feel I feel I have to Respond to This is more I just want to get I just want to get this out of the way Because so we can we can move on to the stuff that matters and I You know look I know there there will be people I hear this sometimes I do I do read the comments and I do listen to the market. So I know I hear this sometimes When people will say, you know, you're getting too involved in like whatever beef you had with this guy or the you know the kind of the more personal stuff and I hear that I you know, I I think we do a pretty good job on this show of Focusing on things that matter things with substance. I think I would like compare our Ratio of what we're talking about really important things compared to nonsense to almost any other show And I think we come out more. I'm like talking about serious policy things. Ironically, it's worth the two comedians, but uh But you know, there's something also I hope you can understand in my position where well, there's a couple things number one This is Patrick bit David is a huge show This is something that is gonna be viewed by millions of people and it's a segment largely about me it has been just the level of response to this has been enormous and Also, I'm kind of furious about it And so I'm like I just kind of got a vent a little here and get this off my chest and be able to say my side of this so for anybody who did not see Yesterday's Patrick bit David show they they opened with a Segment about the debate between me and Adam. It was I don't know Rob how to describe it. It's um It's some of the most uncomfortable I've ever been like it was genuinely uncomfortable I don't know if what other podcast I could watch that's been up there with just being this like oh Jesus like you're just like cringing inside as there's this like intervention on the show now I will say Because I'll explain what got me furious about it, but I will say that I thought Pat handled it really well Really well, and I appreciated that. You know, there's been um I saw there were a few people who were like Oh man, did Pat have to do this public and it's kind of this is kind of harsh for him to do this to his boy Let me tell you something Adam did this to himself I didn't do this to Adam Pat didn't do this to Adam This was Adam's choice and then you know in fact I went into that debate Which I said a couple times during the debate. I went into it like we'll just I don't know We'll just talk about the issues obviously it was going to be a win for me It was never like really a question of that, but I was prepared to just make my points um, I had I like all those guys from the Patrick bet David podcast. They've been very good to me They've hosted me on some huge shows obviously the chris Cuomo debate is something i'm enormously grateful for And and Patrick bet David is the reason that happened Um, and I say everywhere I go Around the country people come up to me and just go oh dude Thank you for giving it to chris Cuomo like that that that debate meant meant a lot to me It meant a lot to a lot of people it is as sad as this is to say The only comeuppance for covid tyranny that any of the guilty parties have ever gotten Then literally nothing out now don't get me wrong. They should get a lot more than that, but chris Cuomo still to this day tries to talk shit to me on social media like it really bothered him that I destroyed him like that in front of so many people and you know what okay We at least gave him that for all the years and trying to shame the rest of us So you know what like we owe that moment to pat um and And I respect I respect the platform that they've built I respect the show It's almost out of respect to the show that I have to respond to that um By the but as Patrick bet david said on the thing like he really he was as nice as you could be To adam he was going out of his way to not throw him under the bus But he had said basically he had to let it be known. There's no rob. You know how it is in this game There's no not addressing that it became such a huge thing It was dominating the comment section of every show and of course look as pat said People were wondering full disclosure. I myself was wondering Did pat green like this? You know what i'm saying like was pat involved in telling adam to come at me like that Which was kind of hard to believe and pat felt he had to make it clear that no and in fact He's given adam a lot of private advice to stop doing the dumb unprofessional shit that he's doing and adam doesn't want to listen to it so anyway, um Pat did not I I appreciated what he said that did not bother me at all. Um, I like those guys except for adam I like pat. I like vinny You know, they're I don't have a problem with any I like tom. I don't have a problem with any of those guys Vinny I I'll take a little bit of issue with something he said but my my I'm actually substantially more furious at adam now than I was before because that was I don't know rub that was the craziest most womanly response to that situation I've ever seen in my life. I actually couldn't believe it like I was blown away not being a big fan of adam Look, I've never respected adam, but I liked adam enough. He was always nice guy to me when I saw him Uh, he was taking shots at me Over and over and over again for many months and personal shots and I noticed it but didn't respond And eventually he took one too many shots on twitter so I smashed him on twitter and then pierce morgan wanted to set up the debate and I was just going to go into it and do a normal debate It just would have been another episode of pierce morgan where I made some good points adam flailed around and we would have moved on adam decided to try to come at me in a vicious way And it was very easy to turn that around and and make him the butt of the joke. That's essentially what happened Anyway, do you have any thoughts on this before I get into what adam said there? You want me to just roll with this rub? Okay dude adam for adam in that moment Uh to say when they're having Dude, he turns around and starts Trump he actually tried to bring up the colman hues debate again on the show You can see the moment in pat's face. It's like a look of disbelief where he's like, yo, this guy just does not get it I mean that is insane that that's I mean just think about this, dude He's literally sitting there. The first thing he goes is when they're asking him It's like we have to address the topic is we have to address this debate because you bombed so hard You humiliated yourself so badly that it can't not be addressed. It's become the talk of the entire internet It's making our brand look bad. What were you thinking? How were you going to reinvent yourself? And adam's first response as he goes look is david. This is what he does which I don't think he understands what air He's me he plays a song in his head that apparently when he hears on repeat about how great he's doing in life Dude, there's just the worst acting. I don't even read the comments. Is there a thing I haven't even noticed as the bit Yeah adam, there's a pretty big thing and yeah, you're pretty aware of it, bro like but No, I'm just saying Me that's me At all man, I'm just speaking this great stuff like dude are you out of your fucking mind? You think this isn't transparent right now, but then for him to have the nerve The goal to start going look is is david smart? Yeah, does david read books? Yeah, is david funny? No But you know david got destroyed with colman hughes and you know what bothers what he says You know what bothers me is that he won't take accountability for that brother We are in the middle of an intervention on your show about how terrible you did And you're saying I what you I've never met a woman who has less accountability than adam I think he does like a dating advice podcast or something like that. You are the worst club hoe I've ever seen in my life You literally thought the moment there was for you to pass judgment on me and what you think I do good or what you think Oh, dude, I mean in that colman hughes debate. They made it out like it was this big debate It was a swan song and and then I'm just saying he got cooked No, sir, you got fucking cooked I am sorry. There is no And I mean there's no honest person in the world who does not objectively go objectively even even if you only take the The people who think colman won that debate only take the people colman think colman won that debate Exclude all the people who think I want it and just take the people who think colman won it It's an objective fact every one of them being honest know that adam lost by 100,000 times more than I lost to go like even if you consider that a loss I did not humiliate myself. There was not a need for an intervention on my next show because all of the comments will not Let it go that I humiliated myself so poor so badly Okay, but here's the other reason why I had to bring this to the show So vinny on their episode at the end. No first adam says Uh, he says next time he debates me. He'll really show what's up Like he immediately in the thing started he started uh going well if I was to debate dav ideologically Maybe I'd debate him like this and pat's like dude. Dude. Dude. It's not about date Like you're we're not giving you another chance to debate dav. We're saying what can you learn from this about what you just did sir It's so embarrassing. Oh my god. Just like me like talking to a child and Okay, so adam goes throws out some I don't know some ridiculous thing about what he would say next time. Dave's like an ostrich Who doesn't want to engage anyone? Yeah, dude, you should have brought that that would have really worked well for you If you had brought that to the debate, but so he says then vinny Goes, hey, dude. It's like when you're a kid and you lose a fight You got to get back out there and fight that guy again You got a you got to debate dav smith again Then pierce morgan uncensored account on twitter goes. We'll happy we're happy to host this again Then they reached out to my people and they want to book it for tuesday So this is the situation we're in now They want to book this rematch For me to debate adam again and now i'm in this project and this just makes me furious because this is like Well, first of all, this is so ridiculous. It's basically insulting to me like the idea that that legendary curb stomping legendary self emulation warrants a rematch Is fucking insane and the and the fact that somehow in this moment where adam lost so bad that there has to be An intervention on the pbd podcast something by the way, I would not wish to have I don't want that to be what they have to do on their show, but again I didn't choose this. I didn't add it when we did the debate the first adam threw one insult at me kind of like a Joke he goes hey, dave thanks for dressing up. I chuckled. I was like, hey, let's get into it the first time I spoke I'm just giving my opinions on on the war. I'm here to debate the the ideas as I always am I'm here to debate the issues first if you want to make it about me I will respond in kind then the adam goes again and he he called me a child said you look like you're 17 So it's like, okay, it's on and then I let him up Let's say this The fact that he humiliated himself so bad that they need to have an intervention on their show and this still ends with a challenge to me As if if I don't accept this debate somehow I haven't stepped up to the plate like he's gonna come back and get me in the rematch dude Nothing about this warrants a rematch that debate warrants you never debating again Let alone coming at me someone who's kind of good at it like I just This to me is crazy And I resent being even put in this situation Um, you know, I I'll say this Okay, let me just I'll put it like this because I'm not going to be the one who like says no to this Shit so you guys can say something like oh he wanted the rematch and Dave wouldn't give it to him or something like this Okay, I accept the debate for tuesday pat Vinnie If you care about your boy at all do not let him accept this Because I'm telling you right now. It's going to be more vicious than the first one. That is the standard. I'm love you I'm not I'm not interested in having a good faith conversation about the ideas anymore Like I'm going in there to eviscerate adam this time, which I was not going in there to do the first time The fucking the vinnie I understand you got to stick up for your brother, dude But if you love your brother at all do not let him come back in here You are sorely mistaken if you think he has an arsenal that he didn't use This is the thing he said on the show dave's like the dating coach who tells guys not to talk to women Yeah, dude, that'll get me that's wow man. Like I don't know what to say here, dude adam had every opportunity in the world pat Bent over backward to set him up the right way to go. I'm not throwing you under the bus I'm not saying what we're all thinking which is that you embarrass the fucking shit out of me personally and my brand You humiliated yourself publicly. What can you learn from this? But he was trying to set him up all adam had to do was go Yeah, well that didn't work out as well as I thought, you know, I'll try to learn from it and get better in the future Blah blah blah not say a word about me But he's going to use that opportunity to try to discredit me more And be like dave hates america. I just love america. Dave hates our truth He said nobody supports this guy. Nobody supports me adam like How about you How many people are supporting you here? How about you compared to me? Who's who's getting more support? In this anyway, again, I hate to make it personal, but it's like I it's annoying to me because like It's something when like someone's like, oh, they're talking all this shit Then it's like, okay, come say it to my face. Then they get fucking destroyed and then they're right back to talking shit behind your back I think there's just something very dishonorable about that um, and um I think adam's like a shitty guy and and really not Uh, not nearly intelligent enough to be doing what he's doing. I don't say that about too many people But you want to come do this again, man? Okay I accept I would advise you guys not to so balls in your court I've been asked to do it next Tuesday. I'll make time for it on tuesday, but i'm telling you It's gonna be it's gonna be that it's gonna be worse than that one um And not this time because not this time because you just humiliated yourself like i'm gonna do it to you this time So up to you. I'd suggest we don't because fuck this it's it's so unreasonable to expect me to do this one again I don't like doing these things. I'm not trying to just waste time. There's a fucking war on right now This is important. I want to talk about these things. Let me debate someone who's read one book on the topic Is that too much to ask? Like i'm sorry like there's just no way like if this was If this was boxing weight classes, you're just like you're asking me to fight a child like i And then i'm in the position where i have to be the one who turns it down If it doesn't happen, you know what i mean? So fuck you. I accept you turn it down now And or or fucking or or call my bluff On this and accept we'll see all right guys. Let's take a moment and thank our sponsor for today's show Which is my patriot supply. I thought you would just say I'm I'm not doing it This is a waste of my time. It sounds boring to show up again. Why would I do it again? But you're like, all right if you want to get take the beat down again Rob, I swear I swear on everything and you know me well enough to know this is true I planned on coming in and saying that that was the plan for the podcast today was I was just going to go No, this is ridiculous. I can't but I just care. So fine. Okay. Fine. Fine. I'll give I'll spend 45 minutes on doing that to you Once again, but it's gonna be um this time and listen anyone can say what they want to but I'm not wrong to do this That's a it is crazy for him to use this moment to just try to smear me more Like that is I'm sorry. That is really wild dude. Do it. Do it live and bring the body bags like the wwf Where you got buried a live type thing? I don't know someone's got to be carried out with the body bag They got the studio Let's let's at least make some money on it make an event making it a public evisceration Why are we just going to run it back on pierce morgan for the internet? Let's uh, let's go big with this Yeah, well, it's uh You're like you're sitting there like now. I gotta get on a flight for this debate. What are you doing Rob? Yeah, no, just getting too ridiculous. Okay. I'm not doing all that But uh, it's also just like I mean, what are we talking about here, dude? Like you're you're so bad at this You're so bad at this like you thought like you thought that Writing memo on a piece of computer paper and holding that up would like you thought that would add something Like that would be like oh boom. This is a moment. He even says on the thing He goes look. I was trying to create a moment where that would get people talking like you did You did that I gotta say if adam doesn't quite process why this is a mistake Uh, you you you're kind of willing to go. Hey, let's have a conversation on the ideas and you're willing to counter punch If people are being critical of your ideas. You're not showing up to a debate trying to Get someone to clarify where they're coming from what they've read why they have any standing What their pointer for you is like you're very rarely critically on the offensive and uh, I think that's probably just gonna be A cringy yelling match if I had to guess as he just tries to not let you talk Yeah, I'll just it'll just like listen. It's gonna be I'm gonna be particularly Two point oh Yeah, yeah something like that, but like it's like if you want to do that like I'm genuine I'm generally trying to stay away from those things. I would just tell look I heard I really Empathized with pat and I felt bad for the situation that pat was put in Um, not that I'm not feeling bad for pat fit david. He's not exactly a victim in this world Is like an unbelievable unbelievably successful guy who's just crushing life and winning But I just mean like in that moment. I just felt bad that he was in this situation Again, I'm not the one who put him there. So I don't feel guilty about it, but I felt bad and um Because he's got to go he's even saying he's like dude. I don't like you represent you're representing my brand And I don't conduct myself that way. I'm a professional. You know what I'm saying like I don't like I don't know his thing where he like fucking there's one of his that he threw a tampon I think at anacasparian at one point This is like his idea of what he thinks looks cool and like creates a cool moment And you're just like first off dude. That's not how men act I mean like men don't throw a tampon at a woman and like my god, dude I mean if you fucking threw a tampon at my chick, I would beat the fucking shit out of you like that is I mean, I don't know dude. What? Anyway, okay, that's it balls in their court. I accepted but you know what the terms are Vinny and pat I would highly suggest you do not allow him to fucking do this uncomfortable This guy's gonna end up out of a job. Just like I don't want your job, buddy Last thing I ever want is anyone to fucking end up out of a job I will say this adam needs that goddamn job pretty badly if he wants to be in this world at all Because that is the reason why he's the thing is because he's on that show And if he wasn't he would nobody is listening to his shit. All right. Let's let's move on Because this was a big deal obviously last night. I apologize for spending so much of the show's time on this nonsense But again, I hope you can understand the situation. You kind of can't not address these things in this world Well, unfortunately, we were right I You know, I did think and maybe I'm still making too much of that But I did just think the announcement wasn't coming that this thing was over because why do it at the end of the day after markets are closed um, Donald trump gave Um, I don't know a ridiculous speech last night ridiculous evil um Incoherent he came out There's so bizarre. I mean look, I guess this time he he was in a jacket and tie He wasn't like wearing a baseball cap with with no tie on like when he announced the thing But he comes out. It's just this like blasé kind of casual attitude like said something about war starts talking about the economy Starts talking about how terrible joe baden was and how great our administration was you're literally sitting there Everyone there there's like 10 15 minutes or whatever of the speech where everyone's sitting there going like Dude, you haven't said anything yet. Like are we leaving or escalating? What's going on? um, it was just anyway, it's it's Look to comment to comment on that I was legitimately mad while listening to it because he said hey, I'm giving you the address I'm going to tell you what's up And I actually did not want to listen to it because for the first 15 minutes of it where you didn't really say anything I actually felt like someone was trying to hypnotize me I felt like he was like hey if I repeat all these talking points that I've been saying over the last couple days But I say directly to the american people. I do it from the podium. I do it as a word address I'm going to be able to fool them And he had the the slow draw He was less energetic than usual But I legitimately felt like I was watching a hypnotist trying hypnotize me where he wasn't not only was he not saying anything new He's like going bigger on some of the lies that I ran was going to get a nuclear bomb They were going to be a nuclear threat to us. He did actually admit to the fact that we did this on behalf of middle east partners I thought that was interesting and then you know, I can save my thoughts for what he said at the end Yeah, I was legitimately mad for the first 10 minutes where I was like Why do I have to do the homework of watching things that are not offering any clarification whatsoever? Not giving me a pitch you're not you know what? I mean you're just kind of like it really just felt like someone was like waving the watch in front of my face and trying to Repeat the stuff enough times that I would believe it Yes, what yeah like 100 percent I know exactly what you mean. Well here. Let's go to the the first clip That we have here, which is um was at the end of the speech But was the most important thing that was said so we'll kind of do the you know the ending first because he waited the whole time to get to that Um, oh wait, I'm sorry the one that we wanted to go to was I think was the second one that uh I'm sorry. No, no, no, no. Yes the first the first one that I sent which is uh from Disclosed TV now trump on around The progress we've made I can say tonight that we are on track to complete all of america's military objectives shortly very shortly We're going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks We're going to bring them back to the stone ages where they belong In the meantime discussions are ongoing regime change was not our goal We never said regime change but regime change has occurred because of all of their original Leaders death. They're all dead The new group is less radical and much more reasonable Yet if during this period of time no deal is made we have our eyes on key targets If there is no deal we are going to hit each and every one of their Electric generating plants very hard and probably simultaneously We have not hit their oil even though that's the easiest target of all Because it would not give them even a small chance of survival or rebuilding But we could hit it and it would be gone and there's not a thing they could do about it All right, I mean look, I guess there's a lot to break down there obviously But I I guess the first thing is in some way I guess i'm kind of glad he said that Obviously, I'm not glad he's saying this and doing this and I'd rather he'd be saying it's over and doing that But if he's gonna do this it's almost at least you're like Hey Man to all the fucking Like expat Iranians and exile or whatever who have been advocating for this war for all of the people All of the people who have been talking about liberating the Iranian people for so many years I mean for 25 years. I've been hearing this these drums beat that. Oh my god. It's such a brutal theocracy The people are so oppressed. This is why we need a regime change there because we have to liberate all these people Fucking god damn is this a moment for you to admit? What a fucking retard you were like how goddamn stupid you were to wish The fucking worst fate on any people in this goddamn face of god's green earth that the us fucking empire liberate them Like you didn't fucking You didn't have the wherewithal to look at the last fucking 35 goddamn people we've liberated Here he is. That's what he means liberating bring you to the stone age. Hey rob. I don't know. I'm not um An expert in the stone age, but the the stone age did women have full equal rights in the stone age Do you uh, can somebody check that right if you don't know can somebody check up on that was feminism thriving in the stone age Were women stripping out of their burkas into bikinis and coffee shops were opening up and the people were were thriving and and enjoying uh religious liberty Is that what the stone age was character characterized by? I mean he's here threatening total annihilation of the civilian population That is donald's threat. He says over the next two weeks. We're gonna send them back to the stone age And if that doesn't make them want to do a deal then We're gonna start hitting key energy infrastructure, I mean Rob Listen man. We're watching we're watching this escalation escalation trap play out in real time that we've been warning about What it this is not if you actually wanted to make a deal and wrap this thing up in the next two weeks The worst thing in the world you could do is announce publicly. Hey Uh, iranian regime. You're a bunch of I'm gonna beat the shit out of you. You better have it signed a deal in the next two weeks while we destroy your entire nation now They kind of can't possibly take a deal Now they can't even like sign any type of agreement So he has set the stage now for the expectation to be total destruction of the of the country Jesus christ, what do you think rob? I I got a lot of thoughts on this but speaking to your first point of the people who thought that we were liberating iran For all of you who pretended that this was going to be a humanitarian cause because we can't allow a regime to be killing 30 30 000 of their own people Well, I guess this isn't much of a humanitarian effort if uh, we're now threatening war crimes to wrap up the war That if they don't sign on the dotted line, we're throwing we're blowing up all of their oil reserves and we're going to be blowing up their power plants and leaving them as uh, I I don't even know. Uh, it's still living under the regime, but with uh, with you know, even less economic resources to get by on Uh, but hey humanitarian effort So for all the people that I was hearing and I was just saying even if it's 30 000 I don't care that's not a good reason for us to be going to war and we don't apply this standard across the world That's going to have us in wars all the time and it's not going to help the people that live there This is all stupid But for all the people that were playing the card of we can't just stand idly by While 30 000 people are being killed by the regime So this is the cure right now That this is the way to do it and then on these other points firstly on the regime change point I've criticized donald trump about this a lot that he's a three-year-old and he likes to pull Oh, I promised you a million doll hairs. I didn't say dollars And he pulls this trick He literally pulls this trick all the time. He literally pulls this trick all the time So now it's like oh, we weren't trying to get regime change But we do have regime change and he's lying when he says it's a softer younger regime now That's not what anybody that's not what anybody's saying. You don't have a new regime You did not accomplish that goal But hey, it wasn't even a goal of ours anyways and now as to whether or not this will even work So I guess it's a threat of war crimes that we're going to be blowing up your whole country and just leaving We don't care about their immune straight other people can worry about that This might even just be a deke out to actually do a ground war and that he wants to stick around longer But let's just assume he's just saying i'm just going to blow everything up and walk away and say i declared victory Well, if you haven't actually taken out all of iran's stockpiles of bombs What happens when iran blows the shit out of oil infrastructure and Salination plants in other areas. So are we just like Going to blow up the entire Middle East and walk away We're going to watch oil prices go up to 200 a barrel and just be like hey What we're going to start doing export controls on our oil be a fully socialized economy and go we never needed the rest of the world Yeah, maybe maybe 10 years from now you actually get your factory back when we trade with nobody Yeah Yeah, it's uh I don't know man. This is really dark um and uh You know, I mean, I guess there's there maybe is are a couple of silver linings to take away from this Uh, which is that he is setting himself up to meet none of his objectives and then Walk away from it. Um, he is you know the I guess you could hope That what this is is setting up like we're going to drop a lot of bombs We're going to blow a lot of shit up and then we're going to leave and claim victory. I mean, dude, your doll hair is coming That's just so perfect. It's like literally like it's just like the most disingenuous fucking arguments like we did achieve regime change Like what dude, that's not what regime change means. That's not what regime means If you kill the leader and then the irgc picks a new leader or the mullahs pick a new leader That is not overthrowing the regime. This is the same regime. It's not the same leader like Anyway, it's like no, I don't know. This is too ridiculous. Venezuela. Look look look. Looky. Looky. I put boots on the ground You guys are always afraid of boots on the ground. Yeah, that's not what we mean We mean a military invasion dropping four soldiers in for a surgical strike We don't prefer it and it didn't accomplish anything. But yeah, that's not what we mean by boots on the ground It's the same well like oh, you know, we're all talk Can I say it did accomplish something and I would be honest. We probably have not spent enough time um Talking about this on the show But the fucking with I guess the approval of the new government there in Venezuela Um, we have been blockading all energy from going into cuba, which I guess is really what I mean Look, the national security advisor slash secretary of state has been claiming all along that this was a bank shot to cuba And that that's what this was about and so I guess maybe we should take him at his word there and they did let that boy that russian uh oil ship in so at least there's that but Dude like what we've been doing to the civilian population of cuba, you know, ryan grim, uh from drop site really, um, just Excellent reporter. Uh, he went down to cuba and stayed down there. I his reporting, dude I mean you want to you want to read something that'll just get you furious, dude He's talking about like what we are doing to these people And there have been these huge blackouts going on for for weeks at a time and because we have an embargo Uh against cuba and donald trump really ramped that up after obama tried to normalize relations a little bit. Uh, so the the The rule is right that we deny any energy going to the government But private businesses Can still purchase Uh oil But then rob, of course, we're talking about cuba Here, dude, which is a socialist country and so every hospital is run by the government So you're literally denying electricity To every hospital in cuba and ryan grim is detailing how like when the power goes out They have to rush to the nicu because they got all these babies on ventilators And so they got to rush in there and start like hand pumping ventilators Like we're killing babies in in cuba right now as somebody who had a baby on a ventilator once. It's just like it You're like, you know, this is this is the type of shit people deserve to be murdered over. I mean, it's like It's the most evil thing you can do and that's just like not even news in america If it wasn't for heroes like ryan grim and jeremy sqaill and the guys at drop site there and like so It's like it's not even a thing and then, you know, it's like by the way This big thing of mine, which is what sparked the adam debate or whatever What his go-to in the debate was or what sparked ben Shapiro and all them flipping out on me was that I referred to the u.s As a terrorist organization Um and adam's gonna say, oh, i'm an ostrich. I have my head in the sound. No, motherfucker. You have your head in the sound Look at what do you call that? The country didn't attack us. They pose absolutely no threat to us cuba A little tiny poor island with no military to speak of that they pose no threats Just like we wanted I don't know we think it's like in our geopolitical strategy To fucking starve the civilian population of energy That goddamn disgusting it is man All right guys, let's take a moment and thank our sponsor for today's show, which is ridge I love the ridge wallet I've had mine for years and I was an old school leather wallet guy But then I tried ridge and honestly, there's really no reason to have that big brick in your back pocket Ridge is unique slim. All right. Let's get back into the show Yeah, anyway, um Here let's play this. Uh, let's play this other clip from uh from donald trump's speech last night Um, this was trump's suggestion that other countries, uh, really need that straight So let's play this one Is of the world that do receive oil through the hormone straight must take care of that passage They must cherish it. They must grab it and cherish it. They can do it easily We will be helpful But they should take the lead in protecting the oil that they so desperately depend on So to those countries that can't get fuel Many of which refuse to get involved in the decapitation of oran. We had to do it ourselves I have a suggestion number one buy oil from the united states of america. We have plenty We have so much and number two build up some delayed courage should have done it before should have done it with us as we asked Go to the straight and just take it protect it use it for yourselves. Iran has been essentially decimated The hard part is done to be easy And in any event when this conflict is over the straight will open up naturally It'll just open up naturally. They're gonna want to be able to sell oil because That's all they have to try and rebuild it will Resume the flowing and the gas prices will rapidly come back down stock prices will rapidly go back up They haven't come down very much. Frankly, they came down a little bit But they've had some very good days over the last couple of days I mean What can you say here? Downs up the hard parts been done. We just need you to go do the easy part Now, why are we not doing the easy part? You might ask Um, there's really no way to do it There's really no way we can do it. So like we can't do it, but you go do it. It'll be totally easy And here's a funny thing. I mean, does he does don trump really understand it this little? Or like it's it's Genuinely, there's a real question that none of us know for sure over whether like Donald trump is actually this stupid or he just thinks you're this stupid And I do not know which one it is But when donald trump goes it'll just naturally open up it'll naturally open up because they've got to sell their oil That's really their entire economy. They've got to sell oil Does he not realize that they that it's not closed for them? Does he not realize that the Strait of Hormuz is not closed for the iranians and No, maybe not. Maybe he genuinely doesn't realize that. I don't know. What do you think here, Rob? Every part of this is so nonsensical Starting with the hey, we made a mess you guys can go clean it up. It'll be easy bullshit Then I well iran needs to sell its oil So it's going to open up. So now the u.s. Is letting iran just sell oil directly on world markets And that's going to be bad for iran in the future. I ran is the mortal enemy But hey guys, we won this war and now I ran's got a new regime that they're able to sell oil directly Next is we don't need the oil and I encourage everyone to buy oil from the u.s What's that going to do to the prices of oil in the u.s If now everyone can't get oil from the middle east, they're buying it from the united states I guess that's nice for our oil producers But I don't think that brings the cost downs for americans And that's what what I listen I got to dig a little bit more into the oil markets because they say basically it's a world economy And I don't understand why we drill oil over here to sell it over there and then buy it over there and bring it in I don't understand the dynamics on that But basically if oil prices are going up globally and it's cheaper I mean it's bad. There's more money in shipping it out and selling it to them. That's what our producers are doing Yeah, listen, there's it's I don't exactly understand it either But I've I've read a bit about it and it's like it's more because there there is like more details and complicating factors in it So like there's certain types of oil that's refined in a certain type of way and other types of oils that require different types of refining And so it actually in some cases does make sense for us to like send our oil to be refined here to then be sold here on this market And then them to send their oil to be refined there to be sold on it So like Essentially like it is true that like we produce more oil than we need It's also true that if you just all the sudden made it so that there's no more world market and it's all done domestically It would require all types of new infrastructure and new refining schemes and like you know what I'm saying Like if you were going to do something like that it'd be much better off to be like in 10 years This will be the rule and give it some time to like us to transition and that I listen I don't know this this is above my pay grade But I have heard experts argue that like This would even though we do produce enough oil for our own energy needs that it would be an absolute shock to the system And totally destructive if just all of the sudden we had to totally self-reli on this stuff So there's there's people who know more about this who could give you a better explanation than that But it is more complicated than just being like Whoever produces oil has that energy now or to put it simply We're not insulated from global ice All prices going up and so the idea of hey, that's just a you problem and not an us problem If you care about what americans are paying at the pump or paying on their energy bill It is an us problem. Dude. There's no question. Listen. No, well, look, I mean just to like drive that point home a little bit Like if you look around your house, dude and see how many things are made in china right now If you were to if you were to look through like your 401k or if you have any type of investment account and look at How many of the businesses that you're invested in also do business in europe and asia and this if you if you even Just think about where you have your money. How many of the financial institutions also Like even if you're just in a checking account or something like that or whatever How many how much business that institution does with the entire global economy? Once you have such an intricate integrated Integrated global complex economy. It's not as simple as just going like hey Yeah, if there's huge inflation in in prices in south korea and that destroys their economy Whatever, we're all the way over here like on so many different levels That might affect companies that are even just doing business in that country who you might be invested in here or your financial Institution might be invested in or is that there's just it's a very complex thing and the idea that the world economy crashing Is in our concern because we're over here that might be a nice idea, but it is not reality and then Also doesn't speak to the problem of fertilizer and helium prices going up, which apparently A lot of it's coming from those areas as well. So I mean, it's just nonsensical on every level It's nonsensical on the hey, this is easy. We made the mess, but we're leaving you guys the easy part So you can feel like you got a taste of the victory We're insulated from oil prices going up and so this isn't our problem So you guys can go figure it out and then also Iran's gonna want to Open up the straits and sell more oil. Well, that's them selling oil That still would limit access of all the other Countries that use the straits and then also then you're now allowing Iran to be a global oil power So they're going to be the only ones you can sell oil from the region and that's going to make them less of an enemy in the future Yeah, it's uh, I mean the whole thing here, dude. I mean this plan is just it's so absurd It's so ridiculous and and there really is something I guess in a way. I mean for very different reasons, right? But Do you remember rob back? I'm kind of blanking on some of these details But do you remember like when it came out? That when joe biden was running for election like toward the end before he had to drop out Do you remember there was there was a bunch of reporting about how it came out that their internal polls Had donald trump winning like some ridiculous amount of like they their internal polls had it being like A way bigger blowout than it was against kamala harris and that that was a part of why they dropped out and um, you know Anyway, there was whether the those polls were correct or the polls that we were seeing were correct where Trump was, you know winning by by a few points uh There was something amazing in that moment In fact, I remember us talking about this quite a bit like in the second half of of 2024 where you'd be like yo Who are the people who can still just support joe biden? You know like however you feel about politics you're like we are pushing to such a level that you're like The guy is clearly. I mean just to try to picture in your mind's eye Just stiff joe biden at his most senile at that debate at that debate going And like at the end of that debate right like he had everyone was calling for him to drop out It was clear that he wasn't going to be in there anymore But like there was still some percentage of the country maybe 35 percent or something that was like still going to vote for him even after that And that's almost in this weird way. It's like baked into the political cake of us politics Is that there are these Fairly sizable chunks that represent like tens of millions of americans who are just like no matter what? No matter what you know the old donald trump. I could shoot someone on fifth avenue and my supporters would still support me Well, we're we're slowly figuring out exactly what that percentage is and it's not enough to win It's not a winning coalition, but it is a shocking way But almost my point is just at this point You're basically You're that guy if you're defending donald trump through this if you're still not even just like if you haven't broken ranks with with this it's uh You're just you're helpless. All right guys, let's take a moment and think our sponsor for today's show which is prolon By el nutra forget everything you think you know about fasting Prolon by el nutra is the only patented fasted mimicking diet that combines the benefits of prolonged fasting With a science-backed nutrition plan so you can hit your health and weight loss goals without actually having to give up food Prolon is a revolutionary plant-based nutrition program that nourishes the body while making cells believe they're fasting researched and developed for decades at the university of southern california's longevity Institute and backed by leading u.s medical centers prolon helps promote healthy blood sugar supports cardiovascular health and reduces Abdominal fat and this all starts with prolon's five-day program snacks soups and beverages all designed to keep your body in a fasting state It's unlike anything you've ever experienced so right now prolon is offering part of the problem listeners 15% off their five-day nutrition program Just go to prolon life.com slash potp. So natalie tells me that uh ham bondy was fired I saw rumors about oh, I'd seen articles this morning that they were uh considering canning her, but I guess they actually did that I guess so I guess trumps got the cover of the uh, iron war going on that uh, he can he can now Deal with some of the other turmoil in his administration and people won't be as uh as locked into it Well, he uh, that's right, uh, or at least so it would seem I mean she's a total clown and she uh, she was Never qualified for the job and she really you know greatly damaged the the trump administration in her her particular handling of the the ebstein scandal also just to list other ones, uh, they botched the comey case and they dropped the uh, biden auto pen case Yeah, well listen, this is the she I mean they came in again as we've talked about before but they came in with so much energy A year ago they well, they still had it a year ago but a year and a half ago when they came in and um You know so much of that was about what this justice department might do and the deep state arrests that we might be seeing And she put up zero botched everything. I mean just a disastrous track record I mean her the justice department and the fbi, you know, rub you really didn't think after Obama's justice department and fbi, obama biden's You know just like between the spying on the president and the censorship and just the the framing donald trump for trees and and all these things You really couldn't imagine that we would have another justice department and fbi that rivaled them on their The level of disgrace that they are to the country But that's what the trump administration gave us and of course the other rumors out there that have been it's been widely reported that Donald trump is considering firing tulsi gabard, which i do gotta say man that would be Just fucking precious if she real if she didn't resign when she had the chance To actually do the right thing and then she still ends up getting fired for it Anyway, that that would go down in history as like a fucking esoph's fable allegory of exactly why you don't fucking Compromise every ounce of integrity that you have to keep your job because you could still lose your job. But now you have nothing um anyway and with both of these characters, it's going to be uh Very difficult for them to now be fired and then turn around and try and criticize I think amp bondy is going to have a particular problem going into the uh Depositions now that she's no longer, you know, she's no longer the boss. She's no longer employed I think she's gonna have a a much harder time of running for cover if You said a lot of shit You said a lot of shit before you turned around and told us there was nothing to see there um, hello, I do want to um play because uh, um, we're Running out on time because I spent too much time on that nonsense at the beginning. Sorry had to be done um, but I do want to uh I I wanted to play this other clip here because there there's something about how so I you know with all this stuff going on the other thing that um Well, I I don't know there's been it's it's been hard to keep up with all the you know It's been a bit of an overwhelming, you know week between uh doing rogan and tucker and all the kind of response But of course the big the big thing that's been trending on twitter over my conversation with tucker The other day was this kind of divide on the left and the right and you know you have There was an interesting moment I felt like For me and you know as I said before I really love tucker carlson and he's he's become like a A friend that that i'm really honored to have and it's So, you know, I sit there and me and him just get into these conversations and we really like uh, you know See the world in a similar way in many instances not all but I thought it was kind of you know as I've been talking about for for weeks now Probably the major theme of what we've been talking about has been the destruction of the trump coalition And then I go on tucker carlson and I go look this coalition's already destroyed and there's no repairing it Like that's just that and he completely agrees and it's kind of an interesting thing when you say that it's like Well in a weird way rob that almost makes it true If the biggest right winger in the country, you know what I mean agrees that the coalition is destroyed Well, then there's who the hell is really arguing with that, you know Like if michael jordan agrees that the 95 bulls are breaking up then they're breaking up because by him breaking up that's already them breaking up and Anyway, this is I think uh, if you remember rob This was my prediction that I made a few weeks ago probably the easiest prediction that's ever been made that when they were Running those polls that said 100 of maga approve of donald trump The ben Shapiro's and mark levin's were saying see the coalition is fine It's proof that tucker carlson doesn't matter blah blah blah and I was like yeah, and they'll very shortly be Accepting that the coalition is blown up and then trying to blame other people for it But I genuinely couldn't imagine. I mean there was nothing that was better a better example. I thought of uh Um an example of this Then what donald trump was saying The other day, uh, so I want to go to this this speech was this was not his speech last night This was a speech he gave earlier in the day. He gave two speeches yesterday But here is donald trump talking about daycare in america This is if you don't think the coalition is is blown up just keep in mind that this is going to be every democratic commercial For the next few years Let's play this clip because the united states can't take care of daycare That has to be up to a state We can't take care of daycare. We're a big country. We have 50 states. We have all these other people We're fighting wars. We can't take care of daycare. You got to let a state take care of daycare and they should pay for it too They should pay they have to raise their taxes But they should pay for it and we could lower our taxes a little bit to them to make up But we it's not possible for us to take care of daycare Medicaid medicare all these individual things they can do it on a state basis. You can't do it on a federal We have to take care of one thing military protection Because the united states there you go There you go There you go You tell me the fucking coalition isn't destroyed. You tell me the america first Coalition is not destroyed. You got a foot. Why? I'm so now listen by the way me and rob don't want the government taking care of none of this just so we're clear Okay, the government but imagine your message is oh dude I know you're drowning because you can't afford your daycare and you can't not put your kid in daycare because you have to work Because you can't afford your housing because you can't afford your groceries as you have to put your kid in daycare So you can work but you can't afford the daycare either and I understand that's a little bit of a bind for you But I can't help you Maybe your governor can raise your taxes a little bit May it would that help like well no that would completely defeat the entire point of all of it He gets sorry we got wars to fight. Sorry. We have wars of choice to fight So we can't pay we can't pay for your daycare of choice Because we have wars of choice to fight Republicans like dude if you if you don't see this yet, okay? It's not that I turned on Trump It's not that Tucker Carlson or canada's owns blew up the coalition He blew up the coalition. He cannot win No republican attached to this administration can win anything. It's over These debate is it going to be jd vancer marco rubio? What world are you living in? It's not going to be either of them neither of them have a chance. That's it That's the democrats ad you fucking actually took the party of fucking lockdowns and vaccines that don't work and turning your Four-year-old boy into a girl and you handed them the win. That's how bad you are Is that they're gonna win now? That party makes more sense than you looking the american people in the eyes and going You have to accept that every city in this country is crumbling that our airports smell like homeless piss That there's needles on the ground that were trillions in debt that there's tens of millions who were not deporting who are here illegally You have to accept all of this and we can't make your life a little bit better because we got fucking wars to fight On behalf of foreign governments Against nations who pose no threat to you I wonder who's going to win the midterms this year rob You cannot have just cut a better commercial for democrats. That is uh, here's the thing We got a really dumb system in this country if whoever can lie the best in the election cycle wins And uh, one of the big lies is that government can afford to take care of all of your problems And you don't even need to work and you don't need to stress Don't worry government's got your back and we can handle all these things Usually the pitch is hey everyone else is an idiot. I'm donald trump and I got common sense So i'm the guy who's going to bring you the job that no one else was going to bring you I'm going to be the one who's going to make the country great a grant great again And now you turn around and you go listen I can't do any of those things for you because I have to fight wars that you don't want instead I can't handle everything. This was the exact uh criticism margie taylor green was hey, you're supposed to be uh Focused on america first not all these foreign problems. Well these foreign problems affect us Yeah, they affect us and that you're spending all the money resources and time on things that don't help us And you could otherwise even though I don't agree with it. I don't want these resources resources spent at all across the board It's just a game of uh, these are all socialist government policies including the military and it just amplifies. Hey, we're going to spend money But you know at least you got a lot of people And pretend like you can make their lives better Through government spending and the worst thing you can do is reassert. Hey, I'm making your lives worse because I'm fighting wars That you don't want on your behalf with your tax dollars My god You're a hundred percent right literally every republican has to denounce maga or they're not winning elections You're going to play that commercial on repeat The the republicans don't want you to have health care. They don't want they want to take away your medicaid They don't care about your social security What they want is all the resources that they can have a uh, they can bomb our ran on israel's behalf Well, you know, it's um, so when I was on talker the other day, I tried to really make this case And I wanted to to make sure I got this out. Um, you know, I had been saying uh Months back I guess maybe yeah, it was months back where I was kind of maybe around december But we were talking about and I was saying how like, uh, you know, one of the things I want to focus on in 26 I really want to talk economics when I get on these podcasts because it was kind of in response to these democrats winning on on economic bread and butter issues and Um, you know, then this war comes up and then of course that's what ends up dominating all the conversation But I wanted to make sure on talker that I I got, you know, I talked about this and one of the things, you know I was saying it's kind of like what free market, you know, people like me and you rob like what's always the challenge for us Is to try to argue, you know, right now when the price inflation has been the number one issue For the last few years in america really like for the last four or five years price inflation I at least since 2021 so five years that's been the biggest issue has been the price inflation It happened to come the year after we pumped six trillion dollars into the economy. I don't that's obviously You know correlation does not equal causation here rob. It's a total coincidence that when we expanded the money supply By the largest amount in human history we dealt with price inflation in the years following it But this is the reality of the situation, right? Is that the american people are underwater because nobody can afford to live these days You really got to be making especially if you're in like a Metropolitan area or something or near one. I mean you you have to be making like mid six figures to like not be stressed Like financially to have like a good life I want to say a good life. I just mean like the kind of standard like Own your own house and own your own car and have decent health insurance and send your kids to a decent school And send them to college someday or something like that like a normal life You got to be doing really well or you're drowning in debt and stressed out and all of that And so now it hands the democrats this, you know, we're running on unaffordability and we're gonna and so the challenge we have Is that you got these democrats here who are saying? Essentially and this is how you get from incremental, you know, socialism to kind of more full-blown Socialism is that they go oh look You're drowning right so you need a government program right like this is mom donnie's answer Hey, there's an unaffordability crisis in new york city. And so the answer is we need free buses and free Childcare and free groceries or whatever, you know the thing is and there's at least on the surface There's some like plausibility to like yeah everything's unafford I can't afford stuff So if you could make some stuff free free, which just means we tax you for it and it's a government program But at least on the surface there's some plausibility to I can't afford stuff. You're saying you'll make it free Okay, that does kind of solve the problem that I had now the challenge for us The job for us is to argue that it's like no it's government programs that we can't afford Then they have to print the money for that are the reason you can't afford this shit to begin with Like why it's why does it have to be this way talk to anybody who is your father's age? Or your grandfather's age my father talks my father-in-law talks all the time about how he bought his first house For whatever it is. He bought the house for 16 thousand dollars. He was making 13 thousand dollars a year He was driving a truck. This was a regular job It only paid 13 thousand dollars a year, which would be low for today But the price of a house was 16 grand and then all of a sudden you go. Oh, wow, that's really doable Okay, like for somebody out there who's making 70 grand today That would be the equivalent of you being able to go get a house for like 95 grand That okay anyway So the point that we have to make is that the reason why things are unaffordability is because of price inflation And the reason why you have price inflation is because you have monetary inflation now It's not it's actually a pretty obvious intuitive argument But it takes a few steps to make it but whatever but so but in the realm of this conversation where democrats are winning on Unaffordability Donald trump's response when they go hey, you can't afford anything and that's why we got to give you these government services To make it easier. He goes no no no no You don't understand you can't afford anything and we can't afford those government services because we have the most Unpopular war in american history to go fight Yeah, you're right. We blew up the coalition. It's our fault It's candace owens's fault For just investigating that charlie kerrk murder too much That's why democrats are gonna win the midterms. Oh if talker carlson would have just supported israel We'd be in we'd be in tip top shape What a joke. All right, we got to wrap up rob guys had to make this one a public episode For obvious reasons tomorrow 1 p.m. Members only catch you then peace
