This is Anthony Push, your local personal injury attorney from the law firm Push and Win. Call us today. Consultations are always free. Do not hesitate. If you feel that you've been injured in a car wreck, give us a call. We take all cases big and small. So look us up online at pushwin.com. Announce this woman's name. Rula. Metro G's hat down. We're there. And the champion's on a f***ing well! What up 4.1? KRD. Good morning, it's the Texas. It's Thursday, guys. That means it's Friday, Eve, April 16th to 26th. Yay! Six o'clock on the dot. Woo! We'll get that math in. Yeah, Rula, Eric, Pester, Kay, and Sam reporting for fleet week duty. Yeah. Oh my god. I was watching that. I was watching it as well. At the gym, I'm seeing them all come in. It's standing at parade rest. Coming on down the ship channel, I will definitely go to Galveston on Saturday. See what I can find. I know there's a lot of events in and around Houston. Traffic shop, Mike, you keep bringing those pictures. Yesterday, our loyal listener, Traffic Shop, Mike, in Galveston, sent us so many beautiful pictures of the ships coming in. It was awesome. I couldn't get enough of it, though. Like, I wanted more. By the time I got home, to be able to, like, try and find a news channel that might be covering it, it wasn't like that time of the day for them to be covering it. So I'm like, isn't there like some channel where just, it's like about sailors? I don't know. I don't know. Some Galveston live cam I could go to on my television. I should have gone to YouTube to find a Galveston live cam, but then there's no commentary. I think it's just like sitting there on the seawall. It's not zoomed in. Yeah, it's not zoomed in. Because every single news station uses the same live cam in Galveston, the one that's pointing towards Murdoch's in the pier. Yep. That's every shot. See the Paris Wheel. You don't see like the Strand. You don't see the the the pier side, actually. Sometimes you do have a flood. They're in the flood. Right. See the camera downtown. And they did, they must have sent a crew down to Seawolf Park on Pelican Island in order to catch those ships coming in to the channel. Right there. Yeah, that was cool. That was cool. You have some audio with Lattie. He went out and did some reporting for us yesterday. So he went into like 300 sailors yesterday, didn't he? At least 300. Lucky him. I know. He was at the Astros game and I saw on TV, like a whole section, you saw like eight to twelve rows of the white sailor. And then you saw like another 20 rows of brown. Did we dip winning yesterday? Yep. Oh, good. Nice. Yeah, someone just texted over a thousand sailors at Deccan Park yesterday. Was it a thousand? So I said, Lattie, go over there. You're there. So he was okay. He just went over there and asked him some questions. So we'll see. He wasn't selling beer at this park. He was actually there for fun to watch. He was there for fun. You never know what that got. Toyota Center, he's going to sell you a beer at Deccan Park. A lot of people don't like to hustle, man. Just work a bunch of jobs and just try and make some money. I read that energy is changing to reliance. Back to reliance again. Oh, come on. I hope you save the station area, everyone. How many years ago was it? I used to use the NRG. Right? Yeah, reliant. It's all about the name rights for the building. I never understood NRG. I didn't know what that was. Me neither. At least for a long time. I mean, it's a, you know, it's a plan words. Whatever it's called there. Energy. Energy. But is it like they're a little, like what, they're a little brother? I have no idea. Are they related? Maybe that's why they changed it. Nobody got it. It's referring back to its original name, but let me see what does it say about? I've never known that actually. Good question, Eric. I never knew what is NRG like the ticket master to live nation? I feel like same company, different name. These people always do the naming rights. It's like they're little, it says 2014 till now is when they changed it to NRG. 2014 is when they changed it. That was a long time ago. Yeah. But yeah, NRG stadium goes back to being a reliant. Energy park, energy stadium, energy arena. Yeah. It says, well, NRG energy, NRG energy acts as a large scale power generator. Reliant energy handles the retail side selling electricity to consumers. Okay. So they are going to return this August. And it says, I hope they save the signs. Right. Reliant center is just a clothing dusting wear. They took the signs down, right? They're down now because of the World Cup. Oh, the NRG signs? Yeah. So maybe they couldn't have any signage. Maybe they thought, hey, this is the best time to do it. We want to do it anyway. Okay. Yeah. That's smart. That would be really smart. So from 2002 to 2014, it was Reliant stadium. That's when Harris County Sports and Convention Corporation voted to change the name to NRG. I still miss Minutemade Park. I know Minutemade Park. The juice box was a great name. The juice box was just such a... It's like I'm not getting paid by them to... Such a clutch name. Like Dike and Park. I don't want to call it that. I don't get paid. I'm getting paid for... I know, but at least I can say juice box. Wait, is this the second season, Eric, of Dike and Park or the first? God, I feel like... Second. Second. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, second. That's right, because I didn't really go to a lot of games last year to really absorb that name. I still know how much that's worth spending, like some of these companies. Like I think my White Sox is like, it's guaranteed home something field or field guaranteed field rate. I don't know what it's called. I just call it Comiskey Park. That's what it was called when I grew up. But what's it actually called now? I have no idea. Oh, like Dr. Pepperfield. They changed it like four times. Oh, I mean, look at BBVA Compass Stadium. Like Ridley Field. I love that. It's named after the Ridley family. Right. But that's as long as they keep paying for it. Like when the soccer stadium first opened, it was BBVA Compass Stadium. Then it changed to... Was it Dynamo Park or something at some point? Now it's the Shell... It's got like five names. I was down there yesterday. Oh yeah? Eat by myself. Yeah, I read the text to you. I was so busy yesterday. You ate by yourself? What did you enjoy it? Yeah, what did I pipe it up? What's a rodeo goat? Okay. Oh, what made you go there? Just random? Is that the game day where I get my testosterone shot? Yeah. It's down on Commerce Street. Okay. So I went down there, walked in, closed. Oh crap, I forgot closed on Wednesdays. So I went to the, I drove all the way down there and then I'm like, well, I'm hungry. Yeah. I remember, I said, food next near me. Uh-huh. I don't go in that area and I've never seen a soccer game or anything. So either... Did you sit inside or outside? Inside. Yeah. Oh, what a shame. I sat at the bar. That's okay. Oh, okay. No, okay. That's okay. That's okay. Because that bar outside normally isn't open. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. What inside? What burger did you get? Oh man, which one was it? It was the second to the top. Okay. Royal. It had... Royal with cheese. Pretty much cheese, onions, jalapeño, bacon. Guys, I think those are some of the top burgers in Houston. I didn't get for a jalapeño on your burger guy. There's jalapeño bacon. Let me see. So the bacon had, I guess, I didn't taste any heat. Yeah. Okay. What's it called? It was the second for the time as well. I was going to get that one. I know. I'm looking at it. Hold on. There's some good choices, but then... I have such good choices. I didn't like the... Royal with cheese, American cheese, chopped onions, jalapeño, bacon, mustard. Wait, is it really called the Royal with cheese? I was just making that up. That's from Pulp Fiction. Yeah. If it's the second one. It's actually called that? Yeah, that's it. No. They use a lot of play on words. Like Zinler, there's a Marvin Zinler burger. Yeah. Like they have Love Ya Blue burger. Yeah. Do you know that's Ram Sam? Love Ya Blue? Why would they call that? Yes. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. We're going streaking. That's what I'm thinking. That's my boy blue. That's funny. You're my blue. Oh no. You blew my... What? Not from the movie Old School. That's what I was thinking. Oh my God, hilarious. No. What's Love Ya Blue? Love Ya Blue Days is what the Houston Oilers... What people said the Houston Oilers love ya blue. I didn't know that. The Houston Oilers logo is blue. That would make more sense. That baby blue. Love Ya Blue. And this is why... Because back in the 70s, it was the Oilers and the Steelers. They would always fight to go... The Oilers would be in the Super Bowl like four times. Yeah. If it wasn't for the Steelers. That's why there's probably a lot of hate for Steeler fans here. Oh, that's funny. Because of what they did to Houston. Houston never made it. But then they're famous for Love Ya Blue. And then like they lost, which they should have won. They have to film that show there was a touchdown against the Steelers. Steelers cheated. And the Oilers came back and they were filled in the Astrodome. They lost and they drove the buses in there and there's... You can go on YouTube and see it. There's like... It's like iconic video of Houston support. And 30,000 people came there to support the Oilers even after they lost. The buses drove into the dome and it was full of fans. Love Ya Blue. But I will say, I told my not like chopped onions. I like grilled onions. Yeah. But they're too wet for me. Yeah. Like they're fat, fat, wet ones. Yeah. Did you get fries? The fries are the bomb. The fries are massive. Yeah, those are... Yeah. It's really good. I give rodeo goat two horns up. I don't know. Two horns up. Wait, does that mean that you don't like onions on the fajita plate when you go get fajitas? I would never touch them. Oh my god, I love that. I hate that wetness. Give me all the fajita onions. It's like a slimy worm. No, it's the best. By the way, I don't have a a bar today. So I'm like, when the alumni day comes off, we'll get brisket tacos. Yeah. You don't have a bar today. What does that mean? My uh... We have such a good day. His protein bar. Protein bar. Oh, you didn't bring breakfast. Yeah. So you're gonna buy some papas. Tacos. All right. Let's go. Yeah. Let's go. God bless Eric. You know, Geographically Houston. Love ya, I love ya, E. Geographically Houston, we are basically almost sharing a parking lot with Papas Barbecue. So sometimes when we park our cars, we can smell that brisket smell again. The pits smell so good. Okay. If you want to go see Harry Styles in New York City, well, we got four trips for two to New York City and one to London. Texas National Keyword belong, B-E-L-O-N-G, to the number 95819. And you'll have a chance to win that. We do it every single hour, six to six. Okay. Coming up next, go ahead. A rodeo girl. What street is it on, you guys? Because people are asking like, where is it? They won't try it. I feel bad. Would you say it's East downtown? No. It's two minutes. I always say it's Edo and I know it's not technically Edo. You're looking at the soccer stadium close. You're looking at the soccer stadium from the city. Give me a second. I'm gonna go to the right like a quarter mile. Oh, I can't even find it. I'm sorry. I just forget the name of the street. I was on it. I can't remember, but... Rodeo girl. It's Dallas street. Dallas street. Dallas street. It says East village is what they're calling it. Okay. 2105 Dallas street. Lots of parking, but you gotta... Sometimes it's packed. I paid three bucks. Yeah, it's packed on like the weekends, but there's a bunch of different other because there's a truck yard right there. If you want to drink it, go to have drinks afterwards. Is that the space? There's a mural. Truck yard's the one with the fierce wheel. I didn't see that. I just saw a mural of like space astronauts and stuff. Is that... Yeah, that might be bad astronaut. Is that it? Yeah, they have a big yard. So if you haven't gone down there, explore. Definitely explore. Yeah, that's on the other side of 59 in the Georgia. They're about to do some big stuff down there too. They're tearing up, but they're gonna make a huge area for partying and restaurants and... I can't believe they built an entire apartment complex and then they tore it down. Insane. Really? Yes. Because they're lining the highway. Yeah, it was a nice complex. Tore the whole thing. And it was one of those big ones like we have around here. Can you still hung out there and buy the dumpster? Oh, let's see what they got rid of. Toilets and dumps. Nice. Brand new. AC units. Oh my God. All right. Coming up next in Slippery Scoop, there's a lot of entertainment news to connect with today and to share with you. One of them is finally we have an update on what is happening after... Remember when Taylor Swift's tickets went on pre-sale for the Ares tour and all those people sat online for hours trying to get tickets and couldn't? And that is what sparked the chaos and the controversy of what the hell's going on. Ticketmaster, here we are three years later, four years later. We kind of have an answer to how we're gonna get our revenge on the fees and how we buy our tickets. We'll explain coming up next in the scoop because there's a lot to cover there. Also, time is the most influential people are out and somebody from Houston's on that list will get that information too. As far as your weather is concerned today, I don't know. I'm still 11, 6 o'clock every day of life in Houston, Texas. It's been so nice. Enjoy for the next week or so. I know. I'm glad for Fleet Week. It's nice. It's 71 degrees right now. High of 87 today. It's the Rula Show with Eric and KRBE. Hey there. I'm Paula Pan. I help people make the smartest money decisions possible. Do not ever worry about your salary. You need enough to make sure that you aren't in a bad financial position. Once you have that, your salary becomes moot. What matters from that point forward upside gains. Any type of ownership stake or ownership potential, that's the money. Remember, you can afford anything, just not everything. Afford anything. Follow and listen on your favorite platform. All right. It is brought to you by Taqueria Randas and we are in it today and tomorrow. It started yesterday for Blast Off to Mars. Bruno Mars, the romantic tour is coming to Houston, April 22nd. And we've got your tickets when you hear two back to back Bruno Mars songs. He's featured on the song. He's the main star of the song. As soon as the second song starts, you need to be caller 104 and you'll score tickets to the show. But you got to make sure you're calling the right number because you want to be scrambling and you're like, whoa, wait, that's another Bruno song. Hold on. Wait, what's the number? You got to not get, you know, every second matters. Exactly. I'm trying to win this because everyone else has the number. Because as soon as you hear the second song start, that's when you start calling us at 833-390-KRBE, two back to back Bruno songs. And it could be you going to the show for free courtesy of KRBE. You see, I'm an opening act. I haven't ever... I haven't asked to see if the record label knows that yet. A lot of times I like to ask those questions. If I'm going to the show, I usually don't remember to ask that until like a couple of days before. I remember I left back in the day when YouTube was there and Muse was opening and I wanted to see him. But it took so long to get in. But right when I got in... They had finished. Our last song. The last song was the hit probably. I'm just like, you kind of hear it when you're walking in. I'm like, dang it. Yeah, you got to get there early. Remember that energy or reliant, whatever it's called. Whatever it's going to be. Whatever it's called. Give yourself plenty of time. So here is the headline. I'm going to read it to you verbatim that the Entertainment News is saying today. It's official live nation ticket master. I've been ripping you off. Of course. We already knew that. We have felt that for years as consumers who want to go visit different stadiums and venues and see our favorite stars on stage. But it was not until the Eras Tour presale happened that it seemed like all the people were trying all at the same time to get tickets to her show. And it caused such a backup. I mean, there were people that waited for hours online while the thing was just circling. And some people said, if I go backwards, I'll skip my line in queue. And I've already waited this long. It was just like this total crap show is basically what it was. I mean, best words I can use are crap show. And so then that sparked the outrage of how ridiculous it is that there's only really one avenue for us to get tickets to a show is back in the day. Whenever that was, what's back in the day 90s. They had more choices. 80s 90s. You had more choices of how you do your tickets, which is sad because there's more venues now, I believe, I think, and there's more artists performing. Think about you got the classic rock bands. You got 80s 90s. You got so much offer. And all we have is one place to get our tickets. Right. So in a federal court in New York yesterday, a jury ruled that Live Nation and its subsidiary, Ticketmaster, created a monopoly that squashes competition and drives up our ticket prices. But what's going to happen now? Well, now we await the judge's decision on what they're going to do. Not surprisingly, a lot of company, a lot of people are calling for the companies to be split apart. Back in 2024, the Justice Department in nearly 40 states launched the lawsuit calling for a breakup of Live Nation and Ticketmaster. But then last month, the Department of Justice announced a settlement with the two companies and backed out of the lawsuit along with several states. But more than 30 states kept fighting it and yesterday they won. So what does that mean? Update to nothing. We're not sure yet. We just know that a judge has called it that they squash competition and they drive up ticket prices. That is a monopoly. So now we wait to see what is the action going to be taken from that statement. I think we'll have to wait for a while. But in the meantime, hopefully when your tickets for free with us. These tickets are just nuts. I know. I know. Man, I know like even 23 years ago. You can't even enjoy anything because of how expensive it is. Well, because when you see the price, Sam, it's not just the base price. It's the fees on top of it. Right. It's absurd. If I'm going to go to a third party, a third market party, right, to get my tickets because they were originally sold out, I know I'm going to spend at least a hundred something dollars on top of that because of you're looking at the ticket price and like, okay, I'm going to go to the Disney Zombies Collide tour because my kids like that. Okay. Look at the ticket prices. Oh, they're $2.75 a piece. That's before fees. Right. If you're on the third, even on the main on ticket masters, I can never get in when it's the day of my wife and daughter go to it, but I'm never I end up have to pay the extra third market price. You're right. It's always and you always have to go to that. But I don't go to concerts that much. But I feel like you buy concert tickets even though you don't go, your kids go, your wife goes. Y'all are a big concert attending family. My daughter, that's all she loves. Yeah, she wants concerts for hers. You know, when you go to college, you have to fill out the essay and stuff. She wants to somehow do it with music because she loves music so much. That's great. Like to change and they have her her essay on that or your creative gene, Eric. I'm like, I just she loves music. But she doesn't play any instruments. No, just loves listening to it. All kinds. I have tried so hard to get my kids to want to learn how to play an instrument. I keep telling my son like, do you know when you go to a party, the guy holding the guitar, everyone's smiling, you bring out a guitar or you get the piano and you start playing. Everyone's smiling. I think piano would be cool. And I there's this one. Oh my god, I wish I could remember the name of it. Y'all, it's a classic piece, not classic like chopstick art. I mean, classic like piano players know this piece. It's very, very, very fast, very, very, very fast. And my son has been watching YouTube shorts on this guy who sets up his iPhone on the camera on the camera. I mean, on the piano in public places. And he's playing and all the people slowly start to gather around him like what's happening. And it's, is it called F something? Somebody text me if you know what I'm talking about, 37530. If you have kids, your kids have probably seen this in the 11 year old wheelhouse. It's like the really fast, fast, fast, fast, fast, fast, fast, fast, fast, fast, fast, fast, fast. And then you have another person do it. And then when you see the computer generated, it's like all the keys are getting played at the same time. And I was like, see, I'm Jay, you go learn how to play that. The one from big? No, God, no, this is way faster. It's called F something. Remember it gets faster then and on that giant piano. They do chopsticks at the end, don't they? I think so. Right, because in the movie big, I have seen it do not remember it very well. He's in the toy store and he starts to tap on the floor piano. At first he starts out. Yeah, so it's a big scene at the end. Anyway, so I just feel like it'd be great if I learned how to play the piano. Yeah, your dad's like makes money doing that his whole life. Okay, well, your dad's a farmer. Did you want to do that? No, by nature. If I knew if they said far, you show people you're a farmer, you're going to get some. I would have learned I would have stayed farming. Played a piano, man. That's like catnip. My dad sells flooring. Yeah, did you want to do that? I mean, it'd be cool if I had the opportunity to. But do you know what I mean? I don't have that. And I tried. Yeah, I tried. I just, I wasn't practicing enough for his liking. So he felt like he was wasting his money on me taking lessons if it wasn't practicing. It's hard to teach kid your own kid, maybe. Yeah, well, he did not teach me. He utilized a bunch of his different friends. But the problem was there was no printed music in Delaware, at least to keep me enticed. Like I want to play songs that I knew. I don't want to play stupid like ballads and crap or some like training. Did your brother call and have like an ear for music at all? A little bit. He played saxophone. My brother played saxophone for a long time, even into high school. But both of us left instruments behind. And I mean, I stayed in music. I'm still DJ, but it's just a different way. Back to wish you kind of stayed with it or I wish no honestly, I wish I had changed to guitar because that would have come in useful here. And like Rula said, you know, when you're the guy with the guitar, everyone is smiling. But you've got to be good at it. Like Nick was, you know, he can pick up any song. Yes, 100%. And the other thing about that, that my dad being a musician is I make more per hour DJing than he makes per hour playing piano. Unfortunately, sadly, and he is always so salty with him. I'm like that I had a good weekend DJ. I just have to push the button. Think about this. Think about this. If you learn how to play piano, even if you're not going to make it to the Houston Symphony or do something like that full time, you can make a good side hustle during holiday parties. People just need ambient music. Yes. But how often are holidays? Well, you got to get your Instagram going and you got it or just any kind of event at any event. Is it is it rush? E. Somebody text us. It's rush. This is it. It starts slow and it goes really fast. Oh, sounds like a Is that a Greek song? No, it's not. It's called rush. It's how Rula dances. Yeah, I know it is. Hold on. She can't stop. See how fast it goes? It's going to go like 10 times faster. This is what comes across your feed. This is what this is what I'm watching on short. I can't say this is what I'm watching. I guarantee his feet are going to change in four years. I'm just saying it's amazing. It's amazing to watch this get played. Look at how fast this is. Our friend Athena, uh, Alvina, her daughter does this stuff. Really? Competitions. I love this. I think it's great. This guy was in and here's the weird thing. One kid started playing this. I don't know where he was, but there are people talking behind him. And it's like he's not even playing it. They're neither affected at all that some kid has sat down the piano and started doing this. And then another kid comes because of course it's set up and starts doing it with him because you can't do all the keys by yourself. You need four hands. That's fun to watch. And the three people in the background, imagine like if you're at the mall at the food court and me and Kevin and Sam are standing there and Eric has come to the piano, maybe 15 feet from us and we're, we never not one of us pops our heads up like a chicken. They really like their sandwich over there, the food court. Yes, which is funny because my dad used to play piano in the food court because the music store where he taught was in the mall. So they would ask him to do demos for their pianos on Christmas time. You want to go see dad at the mall? Okay. That's what people were texting. Yeah, it's not that. It's rush E is the one that you watch. Yeah, the one that my son has watched rush E because people made all these funny shorts about it like how hard it is to play and then they pass out. It's like I'm exhausted. Yesterday, the service men and women of Fleet Week went to Dike and Park to catch an Astros game. Thank God the Astros won that one. Yep, there's like a thousand of them. I saw them on TV and I told Ladi because he was at the game. Yep, Ladi who helps us out on the Raptor Park Quiz. Say, if you get a chance, could you just go interview him? I was making a joke and he goes, okay, here you go and boom. But then like five minutes, he sent me some stuff. So we will all listen to it. Had he been drinking or not, I guess we'll find out. Yeah, we'll see what kind of questions he has. Drunk questions, drunk news with Ladi from Dike and Park with the U.S. Service Men and Women here for Fleet Week next on The Ruler Show with Eric. Time that we've had Fleet Week come to Houston and it is very unique because we are technically not a coastal city, right? We do not have the water right up on our edge. We have the Houston Ship Channel. We've got the Port of Houston. We've got Galveston right there. And so yesterday we were getting fantastic pictures from our listeners. Mike, shout out in Galveston as the ships were coming in and it is thousands of U.S. service men and women who are coming to Houston for the week. You get to Galveston is going to be hopping this weekend as you get to go see all the ships and get to know the service men and women and then they get to know our city. And last night, the Astros played at Dike and Park and Ladi who works here at the radio station, he started up part time, I think, I think like in January or February. We found him on our show on Wednesdays doing the Ruff-R-R-Quiz. He went to the game last night and it turns out there were like a thousand service men and women there at the game. Yep. So he took it to the mic, baby. I was like, Kev, you should have joined him. Get him to the mic. Get a bunch of tickets, I think. So had he been drinking? Well, we're all going to find out. No. Because I have not heard the audio yet. Let's see how it went. I mean, maybe, but he was respectful. So we have two different segments with him. He talks to people about what they do, their names, where they're from, and then what their thoughts are on them wearing uniforms. So here's the one with him interviewing people. He sets it all up. Here we go. One more time. Your name is Rico. Rico, where you from? El Paso, Texas. Texas, boy in the house, my man. Now, we're with the Navy, right? Yeah. Let me ask this, man. These sailor knots are easy to tirely adjust for show. I just buy it like this. I buy it like this. I love it. I love it. Let me ask this, man. What's better, the ship that you were on or the one you're about to go on to? I'm not going to another ship, actually. But in general, but in general. The next ship. You want to always see what's going on the next one? The next one, yeah. Now, look, is it true that women love a man in uniform? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It don't gotta be military, but it always gotta be a man that's working in uniform. But even UPS works. UPS works. Yeah. Yeah. There we go. Hey, what's your name? My name's Caitlin. Caitlin, where you from? I'm from San Antonio. Oh, Texas girl. All right. What's going on down to these men love women in uniform? They sure do. I promise. I promise you they do. Yes, they do. What's your name? What's your name? My name is Harmony. Where you from, Harmony? North Carolina. What's the best part of being in the Navy? That's a hard question. Okay. What's the worst part of being in the Navy? I'm going to go with the best part, the people. I see you all hanging out together. Yeah, the people is the best part. Now look, guys love women in uniform. Absolutely. Yes, they do. Yes, they do. By the way, if you want to see how you can navigate Fleet Week, they have a whole website that breaks it all down. Fleet Week Houston dot com for ship tours and all kinds of stuff. I feel like this came out of nowhere. What Fleet Week? Until you talked about it yesterday. Really? Like I didn't know about it just like a month ago or two days ago. I saw it like I think like 10 days ago, a week ago, they were talking about how Fleet Week was. Like a year ago, they talked about Fleet Week was coming. I'm like, what? There's a lot of events in and around downtown, but this is self serving. What is going on in Galveston? Like I didn't think you could actually get on a ship in Galveston. You had to go to SeaGate. Go board. Go board. Yep. Go right here. Look, Fleet Week Houston dot com. It's first come first serve. All adults must present a valid government ID to take Navy ship tours. Where in Galveston? Yeah, let me see where they are. Are you sure it's not Seabrook or somewhere like right there? No, it's Port of Houston. They tied up to the pleasure board. They're right there. They're out of the first stop. See that's too shallow. Also the Port of Houston is way up the ship channel. It's not in Galveston. Right. But they came in through Galveston and the U.S. servicemen and women are throughout. But look, they were at Deccan Park last night. Right. So they're all. It may not just be straight in Galveston. Well, not just in Galveston because I remember when the first time I heard of Fleet Week, they were talking about how what does Fleet Week do for the servicemen and women? It helps them get familiar with a city that maybe they can move to at the end of their. Let me ask you what's the point of it for them? For them, that's, I remember that's, I don't know if that's the right answer, but that's one of the answers. I don't know what the whole answer is. Yeah, that seems to be the way to bring the military closer to our eyeballs so we can see what they're doing. Our mascots are doing push ups with them. Oh, yeah, Toro was. What else did Ladi get at Deccan Park, Sam? So he was asking different people some fun questions. Let's see. He's going to set it up. I don't need to even set it up. I don't need to set it up. He's going to set it up. So it's Fleet Week. I'm here at the Houston Ashores game and I am with Aiden Macri. And where are you from? I'm from Tucson, Arizona. And what part of the military are you in? I'm in the U.S. Navy. So I got to ask you just a few questions. You're in the Navy. Do you sleep on a waterbed? No. No. We have small little racks, like birthing areas. Okay, now look, if there's a superhero that you would love to work with to join you, who would it be? Spider-Man. Why? I love Spider-Man. It's like my childhood favorite superhero. What was almost happened with the game? Is that home run? You're done. You're done hit the home run right there. Nice. Everyone loves his dancer so much. They all love his dancer. Thank you for it. And last question. If you had like walkout music, if you're walking out on the deck, what would your walkout song be? Iron Man by Black Sabbath. Yeah. Absolutely, dude. Thank you. Nice. That was one of them. Do you need to hear the song? We know it is. No, we know that one. Okay, okay. By the way, Eric, to answer your question, Fleet Week. Fleet Week, what's the point of it? It is to honor the U.S. Navy Marine Corps and Coast Guard by allowing sailors and Marines to showcase their ships, their equipment, and service to the public. These events foster community relationships like the point of getting to know Houston, maybe they'll move here one day, offer the ship tour so we can see them up close what they're doing, how they're living, and boost recruitment through city celebrations. I bet there's, it'll turn a kid on, be like, I want to do that when I'm older. Every block. Yeah. I'd have pictures of time crews right there in that outfit maverick. It looks like Coast, Houston is having an expo, which probably means there's going to be an ability to sign up there. Opportunities. Everywhere. There will be recruitment opportunities everywhere. What's the more audio? Do we have a sport? Yes, we do. Same setup. Hey, man, what's your name? Matthew Ortega. Matthew, where are you from? Belen, New Mexico. And what part of the military are you from? U.S. Navy. All right, I got to ask you, man, you sleep on a water bed? Absolutely not. My God. All right, if there's a superhero that would like, you'd love to work with a joy in the Navy with you, who would it be? Aquaman, obviously. You know, he'll control the waves, get me home a lot faster, you know. All right, and then, of course, you're walking out on the deck. What song are you jamming to, man? What's your walkout song? Mexican radio by SBM. Great song, absolutely. You know this song, Kev? Well, that artist is canceled. I do know this song. I don't know if I should sing it. That artist is canceled? Yes. That's very good. If it's very good, then she can play because then we'll cut that out of the podcast. Let's be careful. I started to find the clean version. Wait, you have it? I have it. Oh, that's not. Okay. No, that's not. He's canceled. Okay, okay, okay. Oh, he's canceled. Sorry. I heard some of that. Sam was playing over there. I'm like, no, no, no. So you can just Google it. I'm like, this guy. You can go to YouTube and just Google it at yourself. Okay. So he has... No, no, no, no. Do they do, uh... Yes, one more. They do weed checks and maybe because that song sounds like... I spoke a lot of weed when you hear that song. Let's move on from here. Okay, one more. One more. One more. Houston. Hey, man, what's your name? Chance Bishop. Chance, where you from? Monterrey, California. Right, you from the Navy as well? Yeah. All right, man. You're not sleeping on a water bed, are you? No. But what superhero is working with you? I have to go with Batman. Batman? Why? Just because he's smart and be able to work through stuff. I like that. Okay, man, what's your walkout sign? You walk out of the deck early in the morning, everybody knows that you. What are you listening to? Uh, I'd have to say Homicide by Eminem. Great. Absolutely. Good job, guys. Hey, man, thank you all for your service, guys. Yeah, Homicide. What a, what a cheery title. Last two songs were interesting. Yeah, that's right. Well, you gotta... What's going down in each town? On The Rulish Show with Eric. 104.1. KRBE. It is brought to you by Easy Fiber. I'm going to try and mention this a lot today because I've had a lot of our listeners reach out to us and me personally on my Instagram DMs regarding the closing of the Memorial City Ice Rink that got announced that it's going to close in July. I did not realize until I saw a whole slew of our Houston community reaching out to us because they know we have the biggest microphone. Yeah. They said, you guys move mountains. Can you help us move this mountain? I don't know if we can help move the mountain. I'm going to try. Okay. If you've ever been to the I-10 Gessner area, it is controlled by Metro National. That is a private company. It is not public. It is not by the city. It is a Metro National company. They can do what they want. They have reimagined that entire area. You've seen a lot of growth, a lot of change at Memorial City Mall, the green space, Hotel Zaza, all the things. They announced that they are doing a redevelopment of the area. The green space that I remember there was a huge inaugural event to show the green space. That's going to go away. They're reimagining and redeveloping all that stuff. Part of that redevelopment will take away the ice rink. Here's what I didn't know until the Houston community reached out to me. That ice rink at Memorial City Mall is the only regulation-sized ice rink. The one in the Galleria is not. So all of these families anywhere in the vicinity of Memorial City Mall, I'm not going to say as far as Katie because I can't speak to for sure that Katie has an ice rink. I know there is one in Sugarland, but it's already so over scheduled. It is full all day long back to back. There is one in Sharpstown on Bellary all day long back to back. We do not have a lot of ice in our area. There are thousands of kids who aim and strive to be hockey players and figure skaters. I know in a Texas state, huge, fourth largest city, football and baseball and basketball and all these sports that we have, but how, Teri Lapinski is from here. We've had a lot of Olympians come through here and they need somewhere to hone their craft. Especially when we want to make this a hockey town. Exactly. We're never going to get NHL if we don't have any. Okay, so Fox News thinks it's a fantastic story on the effect on the community that losing the Memorial City Mall ice rink would have. These are thousands of displaced families, teams, especially after the U.S. just won the gold for men's and women's hockey. It has inspired a lot of kids. My own godson was in Memorial City Mall when he was a child with his parents and saw a hockey game happening, and that's what triggered him to want to play ice hockey. And he's like, I my friend is like, Oh, you're so nice. No, he's like a king. I've seen him play. He is awesome. He does like the hat trick, three goals and all this stuff. He's so great. We won't be able to play that all got sparked by that Memorial City ice rink. So how can you help make some noise to show how important it is for them to find a different plan and not shut this ice rink down? You guys just go to Metro Nationals Instagram and message them. That's really what it is. It's a plea. They have a petition, but you can sign the petition. It's 4000strong at change.org. You can find it there, but I feel like you got to make some noise in Metro National. Metro National doesn't have to pay attention to a petition. It's got to be. No, they don't. This is their own private choice. They want to make money. I'm just curious what maybe it doesn't make that much leak, whatever happened a few months ago, and I asked I asked one of our listeners. What is the what is the pro and con for them? I'm not making money. What do I want to cost them? Because there's free skate. My kids have been there to free skate during the summer. I make money on that. There's a US. Yeah, it's expensive. I'm not expensive, but that's money. But the insurance, they must have to have free skate, not free like monetarily free. I mean, you're free to skilion, you're free to pay and get on the I paying for the shoes. You're paying for the ice time. Birthday parties happen there. All of these little teams practice there. All these figure skaters practice there and they need a regulation ice rink. So we'll talk about it through the morning. Memorial City ice rinks at the close in July, but hopefully there is a huge army of Houstonians hoping it doesn't because it affects thousands of families, thousands of families and future Olympians that have to have nowhere to skate. All right, it's Thursday, guys. You know what that means. It's roses day. Oh yeah, I forgot. What is that? Thornie Thursdays? That's what it's called? Not Thursday. Go to krbe.com if you would like to get some help in your own relationship. And we're going to see what happens next on the Rula show with Eric. in a movie. We said it on Vernon Davis podcast. So we'll circle back. Be like, yep, it's going to clear. Next roll with Vernon Davis. Follow and listen on your favorite platform.
