This is a Fox News alert. Iran's leader is dead. I'm Carmen Roberts. President Trump confirmed this afternoon that the U.S.-Israeli airstrikes in Iran killed the country's supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei. Posting on Truth Social, President Trump called Khamenei one of the most evil people in history. Khamenei was Iran's supreme leader since 1989 and a leading figure in the 1979 Iranian Revolution. His death occurred during U.S. and Israeli airstrikes launched against government and military targets Saturday morning. President Trump says the bombing campaign will continue uninterrupted throughout the week or as long as necessary. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel struck the supreme leader's compound and senior Israeli officials say dozens of other Iranian regime and security figures were killed. We have already seen them pull out two civilians from this area. The first responders are using megaphones. They are calling out to see if there are any survivors who are alive but buried under the rubble. And it is an incredibly challenging moment. there was a direct impact. And key members of Congress are demanding a swift vote on war powers resolution that would restrain President Trump's military attack on Iran. Democrats and some Republicans argued the president must seek approval from Congress for what they warn is potentially illegal campaign and risk pulling the U.S. into a deeper Middle East conflict. The two allies launched a series of airstrikes against Iran after it failed to reach a nuclear and missile deal. Tehran is responding with strikes on Israel and U.S. bases in the region. In other news, a major car company announces a recall. It's a voluntary recall by Subaru of about 70,000 vehicles due to a potential fuel leak that could increase the risk of fires. That recall includes 2026 Crosstrek hybrid and 2025 Forrester hybrid models. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says fuel may leak from the fuel filler cap if the tank is near full and exposed to high temperatures raising pressure inside the tank. Subaru says at least 33 fuel leaks have been reported in the US but no fires or injuries. Vehicle owners are being told to park outside and keep fuel levels below a half tank until a dealer replaces the fuel cap gasket free of charge Paul Stevens Fox News And the burger that helped start the fast food wars is getting a royal update Burger King is giving its iconic Whopper a refresh for the first time in nearly a decade. The company says the updated sandwich will now be served on a more premium bun and packaged in a box instead of the traditional paper wrapping. The recipe will also feature improved nannies while keeping its flame-grilled beef patty, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles the same. The Whopper was first introduced back in 1957 and originally sold for just 37 cents.
