And now that girl is missing. Doctor. Whittier? Please Monica, call me Adelied. I'm sorry if I seem a little caught off guard. When I've been said that Doctor Whittier wanted to see me. Surely you didn't think he meant my father. I just, I don't know. It, it through me. Well, I'm sorry for the secrecy in arranging this meeting. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry for the secrecy in arranging this meeting. Not to mention the late hour. I try to keep a low profile on my visits to Whittier Corp. I admit it's a surprise to even see you in the building. It was my understanding you wanted nothing to do with Whittier Corp. Or your father's work. Yes, I made a very deliberate choice to walk a different path than he did. But I couldn't turn my back on this place entirely. Is everything all right? Sorry. This is going to sound a little strange. I mean, I know we only just met. But there's something really familiar about you. I'm sure I've seen pictures or something I'm just not remembering. There's definitely something you're not remembering. So we have met? Tell me. What are your recollections of 1989? 1989? Well, I remember having a massive crush on River Phoenix and finally getting my braces off. I mean, I was barely a teenager then. You had to be even younger than that. I was just a kid. Then how did we meet? Did I babysit you or something? Not exactly. But I can promise you, the time we spent together back then completely changed my life. It changed everything. I'm sorry, I am so lost. Do you know what I do, Monica? Well, you're a doctor, obviously. I'm a pediatrician. Because of you. Me? I certainly wasn't a doctor in 1989. I mean, I had aspirations, I guess. But did we meet again later in life? Or did your father tell you about me? The reason I've chosen to keep away from Woodier Court is because I believe bad things can happen when you try to shape the world. My father never accepted that. And ultimately, it led to his downfall. I've tried to do better with what I've been given. I'm still not understanding. I waited a long time for this to thank you personally. Thank me? But also to apologize. And give you a gift. I'm hoping it can help unlock some of the secrets you've been looking for. Maybe even make your life feel whole again. You and Mr. Anders and Cyrus and Bertie too. You know my family? Listen to me, Monica. Cookies and cream. Excuse me? Cookies and cream. My favorite flavor. Ivan's too. Ivan? What does he have to do with any of this? Good luck, my sweet friend. Look for what? The holiday project. The holiday project. Oh, what is that noise? Can't be hailing outside. What is it? Ow! Oh, a rock? Seriously? What? Am I bleeding? Sinous! Sinous! Brinley? What are you doing in my yard? Did you throw that rock at my face? It was a pebble intended to get your attention genius. But you had to go and stick your giant head out the window. I wanted to talk to me so you thought it was a good idea to throw rocks at my window. Pebbles? What are we living in 1989 or something? Have you ever heard of texting? If you'll actually look at your phone. I don't know. 72 texts? Bit excessive, no? No, because you didn't answer any of them. Because I was sleeping. Well, now you're not. And we need to talk. About what? About that electrical anomaly and the creepy voice that would hear Corp. And the fire and really everything that's happened since you pulled me from the water. So you're admitting that I helped you? Well, you're just climbed down here already. Or do I need to throw a bigger rock? Hang on. Ugh. You're in your pajamas and slippers. Cute, right? I couldn't sleep. Can we just go for a walk, please? I don't want to wake up the rest of your family. And this can't wait until morning? No. Didn't think so. Lead the way. Thank you. It's cold outside here. Should've grabbed a sweatshirt. PastorNac came back to see Cyrus Andrews. They're definitely on something. Do we really have to keep following them? Feels a little... Stockery. We have our orders from the monarch. We seem up with each one for seven seconds. Oh, great. Awfully late for training, no? Like I said, we have our orders. Come on. Call James. Monica, where are you? I'm still at Whittier Corp. I'm headed for the elevators, so I'm not sure how long I'll have reception. What happened at the emergency meeting? James, you'll never believe it. I am coming straight from an encounter with Dr. Whittier. Uh, isn't he... You know, dead? Not JP Whittier. His daughter, Adelaide. Adelaide Whittier was in the building. Yep. And we had the strangest conversation. She said we knew each other. That we met in 1989. 1989? That's around the time we met. I know. Makes no sense. Did she say how you met or what she wanted? She said she wanted to thank me for inspiring her to become a pediatrician. When you were thirteen. She also said she had a gift for me. Elevator for smoking. Welcome, Dr. Anders. Thank you, Ivan. I'm getting on the elevator now, James. Okay, I can still hear you. What was the gift? A phrase, I guess? Cookies and cream. Universal access, granted. What? Did he just say universal access? Where would you like to go, Dr. Anders? Whoa. Any ideas, James? Well, our thermal imaging tack tells us there's a great deal of activity below with your corp tower. You mean, like, in the basement? Way lower than that. Okay. Uh, take me all the way down, Ivan. Lowest possible level. Sub-base level 37. Stand by. Did you say 37 levels? 37 floors underground. I need you. I need you. I need you. You okay? Pretty sure I'm gonna lose you now. Whoa. We're picking up speed. What? James, what did you hear me? I'm stepping on the ladder to come. James? Sub-base number 37. 37 floors underground? James? I can still hear you, but you're crackling. That was a wild ride. Stay with me as long as you can, okay? I'm stepping off the elevator. I'm here somehow. Oh, wow. What do you see? Well, for starters, the walls are all metal. Floors, too. It's the hallway, a very long sterile hallway. I'm going to see if any of these doors will open. Be careful. Ah, this one's locked. Locked. Uh-oh. I don't think I'm alone down here. What's that? You're breaking up again. Hang on. I found a room with a window in the door. I think this is where the voices are coming from. Can you hear me, James? I can see two teenagers inside this room. And they're training. What's that? James, one of them is the guy who put out the fire at the house. Because, Frosty, I feel like we're being watched. Uh-oh. I think I've been discovered. How are you going to get back to the elevator? On it. Come on, open. Open. Open. Someone was here. I'll alert the monarch.
