Hi, this is Meg Wallitzer. I'd like to recommend a cool podcast I just discovered called Explain Like I'm Five. Episodes are just five to eight minutes long, and they cover really interesting questions like, if caffeine has zero calories, how does it give me energy? Mosquitoes, why do some people get bitten more than others? Or my favorite from a few weeks ago, can adults have ADD? As you can hear, they take the questions we all ask and explain them in a way that is easy to understand. I'm going to play a one-minute trailer from the hosts Tim and Kevin, so you get a feel for the show. Explain Like I'm Five is a podcast where we take the questions you always wanted to ask and talk about them in a way that's easy to understand. We are your hosts, I'm Tim. And I'm Kevin. And we're here to answer those curious questions like, why caffeine gives you energy but has zero calories? Or why do some people get mosquito bites more than others? Or one recent one, why is it so hard to run in your dreams? Oh yeah, I had that problem last night. I also really loved our dopamine episode. Is it a feel-good drug? Oh yeah, it's not, is it? No, that's right, that's right, it's not. Or how about the one we did on the national debt? Ah yes, I remember that one. Where we asked, who do countries actually owe when they're in debt? Right. So if you're interested in those topics or others, come listen to us on the Explain Like I'm Five podcast. That's right, just search for Explain Like I'm Five wherever you listen to your podcasts. There's ELI and the number five, and it's the one with the blue background. Sometimes we want simple answers to complex questions, which is why we here at Selected Shorts are huge fans of ELI Five.
