Summary

Carmiola Decentura, an ancestral trauma healer and founder of TransUnity Academy, discusses how generational trauma and family patterns inherited from ancestors can unconsciously shape life outcomes, behaviors, and decisions. She explains how recognizing these patterns through synchronicities and symptoms enables individuals to break free from limiting ancestral patterns and create lasting personal change.

Insights
  • Ancestral trauma manifests through recurring patterns across generations (same-age events, unexplained phobias, allergies) that individuals often attribute to personal issues rather than inherited family patterns
  • Identifying the root cause of self-sabotage requires understanding ancestral history; people often know they're stuck but don't know why until external perspective reveals the generational connection
  • Personal healing of ancestral trauma creates a ripple effect for future generations, breaking cycles that would otherwise pass to children and descendants
  • Small moments of visibility and recognition (like winning a speaking competition) can catalyze major life trajectory changes and legacy-building opportunities
  • Transformational work requires creating a 'zero point' where clients question their assumptions and become open to reframing their life narrative

I think most people listening understand how your upbringing can impact your outlook on life, your, you know, what you achieve in life, your perception of reality and your perception of yourself. But I think it's very fascinating about how not only your upbringing from your parents, but maybe before that can even impact it. There's ancestral trauma. If a person does not know what stops me, I feel like something stops me, then I'm going to tell him what stops him without maybe him knowing. Carmiola Decentura is a transformational coach, ancestral trauma healer, and the founder of TransUnity Academy, where she guides people to break free from ancestral patterns and generational trauma. Through her work, she has helped hundreds worldwide uncover the unseen forces shaping their lives and step into lasting change. I've written a book, Manifesto, and these cards come with the book. Just take a card, and you have to do it yourself, and then pick one card. There you go. Okay. Is your soul crying? Yeah, I came with an explanation. Sure. It spans the globe like a super high school. Today we're going to talk about trauma and we have uh one of the world's top ancestral trauma specialists sat with us so excited for this uh she's gonna go and probably dive deep into my life and all the trauma i don't know about who knows we'll see where this episode goes camilla welcome to the show thank you rudy thank you thank you for reminding me of course so so uh if someone doesn't understand what i just said and doesn't understand what an ancestral trauma specialist is uh do you mind just explaining a bit about yourself and what that is and what you do? Let's say that I see you, but I know where you're coming from and I know what stops you from achieving your next level. If a person does not know what stops me, I feel like something stops me, then I'm going to tell him what stops him without maybe him knowing himself. So you work with individuals to help them unlock the next phase of their life is that a fair way to say it uh change the course of their life change the course of their life okay and this is for everyone or people that are more stuck and not in a heading in a good direction or is it for people that are in a great direction people are a little bit fucked up so that they like know what they want to do but they don't know what to do they're like it's like in being at the crossroad you kind of like know that yeah i want to be famous okay you want to be famous but what stops you i don't know something stops me then i'm coming in and i'm explaining him why he wants to be famous and then i'm gonna say you know what it's because of your grand grand granddad wanted to escape from the country he was maybe sure yeah whatever shot whatever was was there and because of this eagerness to escape from the situation you want to be seen in order to release yeah yeah yeah yeah it's a really i mean you spoke at my event about it when we met it's a fascinating concept you know how yeah how that can impact you and obviously i understand i think most people listening understand how your upbringing can impact your outlook on life your you know how what you achieve in life your perception of reality and your perception of yourself But I think it very fascinating about how not only your upbringing from your parents, but maybe before that can even impact it. So explain to someone that's scratching their head going, how can something before I was even born impact that? How does that work? For example, the easiest way to understand if you have something from your back, back, back, not from your childhood, is that when there's a lot of synchronicities in ages or in numbers, for example, your mother, something happened with your mother at a certain age, then, oh my God, something happened with you at the same age. And then you know that maybe your uncle, something happened with him at the same age. This is where there's ancestral trauma. If you were a child and there is no trauma, then you may have symptoms of your grandparents. And symptoms could be, for example, you have allergies, you have FOMOs, you're afraid of swimming or flying, and you don't know why. Then the answer is back there, that something happened with someone in your history. Maybe they got shot in the plane. Maybe something happened. And because something happened there is a trauma and belief and the choices yeah so so i gotta ask and i'm sure if people listening are wondering how'd you get into this uh i think because of my son because of my son who got 13 and then i understood that something happened with me when i was 13 something happened with my mom and my granddad and it started with my granddad while he was escaping from escaping from siberia uh where he was deported in 1944 from estonia so during the war and um and then things started to happen at the age of 13 until i was prepared for that in my episode i'm i'm sharing this i'm opening it up what actually happened there so and then i understood that it's me who has to heal this it's me who has to change it for my son yeah i love that okay and someone is listening and going how how you know how do people find you how does this work who do you work with can you share like how you're applying this to people's lives and the outcome oh lately is that i tell you a story lately it happened so that uh last week for example i went with my friend to a shop and she was trying on a ten thousand dollars dress and we were in a dressing room and then the man comes in says that are you gonna buy this and my my my friend says that yeah we are thinking about that so can we have some discount and da da da da da da and she started to talk with this um man who was serving us in the shop and they started to talk talk talk talk and then he asked yeah ladies what you're doing and she says oh she's ancestral trauma healer um I'm doing this, speaking, keynote speaking. And then he started to ask questions. And we ended up doing a private session, me reading this person, giving him a knowledge why he has to change the route that he's on. But the story is very beautiful there. He was interested because there were synchronicities. He lost his child at the age. his child was 35 and he was a single father and His sisters had lost children and Before that there were deaths of children. So he got interested and people get interested if they are in stuck in something that bothers them So they I mean if nothing bothers you obviously I not like yeah no no no no no no Something must bother you. No, no, no. The people come when there is a connection. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I understand that. So, you know, burning question, anyone on video may notice that there's a deck of cards on the table here. Yeah. Right? How do they come into play? I've written a book manifesto and these cards come with the book manifesto and these are the cards that should give you like a sight like an insight about your situation right now like we're always in the place we are and sometimes we need a hint for example like a hint from a friend hint from someone who gives us like do this or do that. And these manifesto cards are just for a message for the day. Like, for example, just to take a card and you have to do it yourself and then pick one card. And look with your eyes. So take a card at random. Yeah, but shovel them first. Shovel them now, okay. All right, so if you're listening, I am shuffling cards now. I haven't done this for a long time. Okay, so then just pick one from the middle. anywhere yeah but your eyes has to see it don't pick like randomly with your close eyes people okay so you want me to look through yeah absolutely i like this one yeah okay so and then read it yeah i'll give it to you you read it okay i read it there you go okay is your soul crying okay you want me to read the whole thing absolutely then i tell you what it means all right so everyone wants to cry from time to time this way we cleanse ourselves from lowly thoughts and feelings inside our body when you feel like crying let it happen your soul needs to let go of baggage you've been carrying around after being cleansed you will start to see surroundings more clearly and your problems will find their solution you will reach the knowledge of what your soul really wants know that your will is born in your heart but you but your need is born in your head but be aware that crying does not create new possibilities creation is born from love passion and being aware of your inner might you need to hold your head up high and believe in what you already know in your soul you are almighty very good yeah i came with the explanation sure you create something that is huge you have to be part of everything but maybe in your soul you feel like i want to share this position with someone but i cannot because i have to be part of it's like we love what we do but sometimes we feel like can someone help me doing that can someone replace me no nobody can replace you but i would love to so maybe you want to be in a million places at the same time but you cannot sure i think you describe every ceo you know yeah running a business and and and yeah you know uh being able to put all your hands in the pies yeah interesting so you'll work with clients they'll uh will they fly in or over zoom or they'll just buy the book and do this themselves yeah i'm i'm in america a lot so i i come here as as i go to some other places in estonia okay i go to atlanta i go to my hometown like yeah got it and just last few questions um obviously there's way more about this in your episode and to learn all of this, but you know, the legacy side, where does that come in and what does that mean long term to you? Last year I was at the event in the castle your event and I just came with my friend there I was not a member and I was like you know when you go to a party you like you checking around like what people are doing here And then I remember that one of your assistants asked that, what is it that you do? And I went in front of these people that were there. And I was like, I had no clue. And I stood there. I couldn't say a word. and I was like mumbling there doing like saying nothing and then I went to sit and I felt so bad I felt so bad I was like what the heck you don't even know what you're doing and next day uh there was a speaking competition for five minutes you had to introduce what you're doing and I was like what the heck i should know what i'm doing and then next day i i i gave my speech and i won this competition the speaking competition but what most of the people don't know who were there um is that that was my first english speaking contest or speaking in english and that changed my life curve a lot. After that, I was on Lisa Nichols stage. Last week, I had my TEDx speech in English. So that was so, and people don't know that something so little may change so much in someone's life. Yeah, the butterfly effect. Absolutely, and that's where my legacy started. my making of legacy started yeah i'm so grateful for that good i love that i'm glad we could be a small part of that so uh last question for you uh someone wants to learn more about you and all the fascinating stuff you're doing uh what what will they get from your episode what else will they learn about you and what you do from your episode i'm telling you when um i had my because i'm doing my master classes and the last feedback I got from one person was that she sent a message to his friend. He's and her, I guess mix them up. So don't mind. I mean, she, she sent a message to her friend and she said that, yeah, that was my first time learning from Carmiola and I'm so fucked up right now. I don't know anything anymore. And I think that the same thing could happen with watching this episode that you thought that you know much then yeah watch this and you may end up in a place where you're like what the heck just happened i don't know anything about my life and that's a good point that's a good zero point and and last question someone wants to learn more about you get the book or experience what you're doing how can they find you online i have my homepage and this is carmioladesantura.com and what I'm maybe what I would like to share is that I'm doing my TV episodes haunted by the past when I'm actually reading people live and yeah I just treat people that's one of my things and I tell them what stops them and if people would be interested in being in this tv show and sharing these stories then i could uh i could read them live love that love that good well guys that's a wrap for this episode but obviously far more to this story and i think it's one of those things in life like uh a good food or wine you have to experience it it's hard to just see it uh so go check her out uh and as always keep working hard, have an impact and build a legacy. I'll see you guys soon. Take care. Bye-bye.
