Once Upon a Witchlight | Ep. 70 | Yearn for the Mines

Greetings. You're listening to Legends of Aventures. My name is Morning Frost and this is Once Upon a Witch Light. Here's what happened last time. Last time, on Once Upon a Witch Light, you found yourselves in the aftermath of performing Lucroulon Rouge. In during a night's sleep, you dreamt, and the King of Hearts sent you a very important message. Your time is running out, and you needed to get to the orey of tragedies. Is there was something about your fates that you needed to know in order to progress your plans? With the help of Gleam and eventually Glister, you were able to bring twigs marrying at body back to Mother Horn and make your way up to the orey of tragedies where you were able to glimpse your possible futures. What would happen if each of the hags succeeded with your help? And lastly, a fourth future that you didn't expect. What would happen if you chose to break those packs and move forward for yourselves? Move forward for your own aims and not help any of them. It is after viewing these futures that you decide that that is what must be done. Remembering that you had the wand gifted to you by Mr. Light, you were able to break all of your packs with the three hats. And progressed to sabotaging the dress rehearsal. And doing so, Torbeck was able to steal the final hagg treasure that the King of Hearts leads to accomplish his goals and to help you into the Palace of Hearts desire. And you were able to rush then to the orey of tragedies onto the top balcony and out into the pouring rain where Gideon attempted to turn all three of the hags mounts into a mount that could carry all of you out into Yon and into your next adventure. It was here that Cremie decided to place the unicorn horn into the rocking horse, unnoticed to him, freeing the unicorn that had been trapped in Yon. And as the lightning that was keeping him trapped was unleashed into the air, it went exactly where the rest of the lightning goes. Straight towards the large copper rod protruding from the orey of tragedies at the very top of Mother Horn, forcing a large amount of electricity into this contraption. Twigg, her marionette body, placed next to it, was the conduit for all of this electricity. As all of it was forced into her tiny wooden body, Gideon, you rushed to her, trying to save her before the impact. You were not able to get there quick enough. As you watch as her body becomes charred, darkened with this electrical power. And as you hold her up thinking that this is it for Twigg, you watch as the wooden pieces fall away, the marionette parts falling away from her and in your hands is the pink body of Twigg. Everything is still crashing and crackling all around you. She opens her eyes and looks up at you and lets you know that you and Kremi smell like Pennsylvania. And it is that moment that you find yourselves. Silver Norton, Twigg's eyes roll back in her head. She is still incredibly tired. She has just been electrocuted. Her body convulses every once in a while. She holds tightly to you, Gideon. As the rain is pouring down around you, you have very limited time to get out of mother horn. You can still see that the lightning is crackling through the broken remnants of the orary of tragedy. So much of it has been blown apart by this giant lightning strike. And you know that you don't know how long Endelen is going to be, her attention is going to be occupied by the destruction of her dress rehearsal. And so looking and holding on to Twigg's small form as she clutches onto you, she seems in this moment to be safe. Your best bet is to make your way onto the newly formed dirigible and make to the skies. What do you do? I'm going to get out of here. Quick, quick, we got to spin the thing up. Is she all right? Well, I don't know if it's me yet, Twigg. She was married now, but the line of bums plies it in the end. And then the thing is, the thing is, the ground is all I have. Oh, I can't do it. As you, at first, move very slowly, and then jolt forward a little bit, as you're getting used to maneuvering this thing. Eventually, you're able to, you're able to, just, just, dirty this thing, and you rise into the air up above the clouds, and you are now hovering and flying fairly slowly through the skies of yellow. Oh yeah You don't need a roll perception check for this to see this But the lightning that it has been being channeled from within these storm clouds used I would say from up here you can even see as you look down The clouds have dissipated It looks like the storm is slowly rolling out It's still overcast They're still thick but it's not what they had been As you look down you see the broken They're the broken cage Which had clearly been the cage of the unicorn And now that it's no longer housing it there The way the lightning has shot up and destroyed that one Tall copper poles sticking out of mother horn Now that is not being conducted in that way It was almost as if it was keeping the lightning And the storm cyclical and keeping it inside of yon But now that that has been destroyed The lightning is the storm is doing what any other storm would do And it is beginning to roll out And you see outside of the realm of prism here From up here it's this thick, roiling clouds Almost circling the parameter From where you are here You have such a high point of view that you can see Often to yon are often to hither, often to thither And you realize that your view here is way more clear than it had been even 30 minutes ago And you imagine it's going to take a few days for the storm to fully roll out But yeah, you do see that the storm has dissipated quite a bit As you're looking around what I'll say is you can see over in one area You can see the tall mountain with the circle of standing stones Where you know the corids to be And then you can't see much of what's going on there You do see some movement on top of the peak And then often in another direction Or then down in the valley you see the entrance to brigandok mines And then often another peak You actually see something that you'd never been able to see before Because it had always been obscured by the clouds But one of the peaks of one of the taller mountains is completely verdant Covered in beautiful bright, almost neon flowers Dotted all along the mountain are these huge lumps of honeycomb And at the very top what appears to be some sort of colony Almost a monstrous size geek colony You see these huge beekeeping houses And though you can't really see much of what's going on on the on the corids side They were very small You can very clearly see what looks to be a large, almost giant like creature Stomping around this plateau covered head to toe and beekeeping gear Do we see Hurley falling to his death? You imagine that all of this is facing you But if you were to go around the side you imagine you could come in around the back of the down stump And you would be able to come up on the back side of Omdapur You would come on the back side of Omdapur That's what I'm trying to say Get in I know what you're going to ask me to do for us I'm not sure how to strength to do it but here we go How loud is this vehicle? But from this vantage point, you can see very clearly that there is a winding pathway that seems to lead down. It looks as though it's been worn by troll feet. I don't think I can bring it down through this wind. I'm going to have to land above it. We're going to have to hoof it the rest of the way. No, again, sure. There's got to be some other kind of way. Isn't that some fade button? You can just hit to solve this problem, please. Oh, wait. Well, this button says float like a leaf on the wind. Hang on. Get in, dies instantly. No, he doesn't. You do feel yourself float like a leaf on the wind. Unfortunately, the wind in here is incredible. And the flying circus begins to whip in the opposite direction of where you want to go. You just land on the side of the bridge, and you're able to anchor the TV show. The flying circus. And you see that you don't have to cross the bridge. The pathway down does seem to be worn by the feats of trolls. Well-worn path that the trolls probably take when they're coming up to scavenge for food or whatever. But it seems to go down into the cavern. And at first, you're concerned with the wind so strong. How are you going to stay attached to this footpath? But you see very quickly that you feel very quickly that as you step onto the pathway, the wind doesn't feel as strong down here. Very fortunate. Oh, we seem to be protected on this path. And I propose that we move down. Just carry forward. I mean, we have sort of forged, I guess. All right. This is the vibe that we've felt enough in our vision right out of the future. Does it feel like you're a little familiar? We saw bridge. Do you see a bridge or no? This is the bridge where you've with the troll. Remember we crossed to get to Old Ben's grotto, that's right. But in the dream, we saw a bridge, right? In this very bridge. OK. We're in the right place. On the right track, we're going to find this shot. You know what they say? The best time to forge a sword was 20 years ago. But the next best time is today. All right. Yeah. You got some great say to it today, Torbett. Thank you. You're getting in. Torbett's been trying. I'm hoping that I will be protected by the thunder wind. Lead towards what I hope to believe is a magical grotto of some kind. You begin to descend. And the wind is strong. But it's not as strong as it was when you were crossing the bridge. And you begin to descend this lightning path. It's almost like a goat path along the mountain where it zigzags downwards. And you travel as you descend. And you see the corrupted wish-dots below you sparkling and shining. And as you descend, you doesn't feel like they're getting any closer. But you're descending. It seems like it's taking hours. It's really only been about 30 minutes, maybe 40 minutes of descending. But you are getting tired. Yeah. And you continue to descend. But you don't see any cabins. You don't see any entrances into the walls. You don't see any way to walk further down this cavern. It's almost just taking you straight down. And to eventually you see down below you, which looks to be a half-circle platform jutting out of the side of the mountain. And if the shadows are indicative of what's there, the mouth of a cave. I look to some of the corrupted wish-dones as we approach the mouth of this cave. I'm going to say, ah, talk about a grim reminder. Torque, almost forgot there's brilliant arc hell. You ain't never talking about this. Do you? And I will begin to move towards the mouth of this cave to see if I can all step threshold. You make your way down. Are you going down by yourself? You're right behind. I'm just going first because I'm a sacrifice. I'm a sacrifice. You're exactly a sacrifice. You're just a case area jump stuff. You're going to make your way down and you step on a flatboard. You're exactly right. You kind of test it with your foot just to make sure that it's sturdy and solid and it is. And as you go to round the mouth of the cave, you immediately see a long, like, beige-ish, slightly green hand reach its way out as a troll is leaning up against the archway. You're doing a big boy. Let's sing us your favorite song Release the burdens of familiar pressure And embrace your newfound icy powers That's very legally distinct from anything else That young girl with your rays love to listen to Okay That's a stifling song I attempt to find my friends However long I might take It doesn't take you long to catch up with them You may be sad and you may be slow And you may be tired from your 59 seconds It happens But you are still capable And you make your way towards your friends And catch up with them The trek through these tunnels is long They're winding occasionally You find yourselves met with one, two Or sometimes even three choices of pathway to take And sometimes you find yourself in a way And sometimes you find yourself in a way to take And somehow, almost instinctively You just get a feeling This time we should take the left This time we should take the middle path Left again Right, right, right, middle And you don't know why But there is something you feel drawing you Down these pathways It takes a while Occasionally you hear sounds within these corridors Potentially trolls about But you don't see Grunda again She's gone As you continue deeper into these caves You begin, you feel yourself descending For a significant portion of this And occasionally you imagine that you see bits of Wishtown and corrupted Wishtown Embedded in the walls in the way that they sparkle There is, you don't even have to light a light The Wishtowns themselves are illuminating these caves As they spat out And you can see the walls And sometimes you feel themselves are Illuminating these caves as they Speckle the walls You continue to wander through the tunnels And the darkness It starts to get darker and darker And you lose track of time But you press forward Through the supernatural sense of your vision From the ori of tragedy And finally you see a light In the darkness It illuminates a set of stairs You make your way up into a primordial stone chamber and ahead of you is a smooth pedestal upon which the tip of a sword gleaming and stunningly radiant silver in crimson.
