Episode 640 features Chris Pronger and Matthew Tkachuk discussing the first-round NHL playoffs, with detailed breakdowns of the Flyers' dominant performance over Pittsburgh, Minnesota's struggles against Dallas, and emerging storylines across multiple series including Edmonton's inconsistency and Buffalo's resurgence.
Insights
- Physical play and fan momentum are decisive factors in playoff hockey—the Flyers' aggressive style combined with home crowd energy shifted the Pittsburgh series momentum irreversibly after game two
- Goaltending consistency matters less than team discipline; Pittsburgh's defensive breakdowns and poor penalty management cost them more than any individual save percentage
- Depth scoring and fourth-line production are more predictive of playoff success than star power alone—Philadelphia's depth outperformed Pittsburgh's elite talent
- Injury targeting and physical awareness of opposing players' health status is a deliberate playoff strategy that separates experienced teams from younger ones
- Power play struggles compound psychological pressure in playoffs; Minnesota's 1-for-11 power play in two games created a cascading loss of confidence

I've been trying to get more into running and incline tread when I can't get outside and the weather is not so nice. So whatever the case is, I'm truly just blown away by these socks. They are a game changer. They're cushioned when you need it, sweat wicking. They don't slide around. I can just focus on just going as fast as possible instead of constantly adjusting my socks. Me and Ryan have been officially welcomed to the jungle at his basketball sports. I brought it toward the coyotes and I asked him if it was okay if I joined the spit check on podcast full time. Ryan Whitney's got a pink Whitney out there now. Get that bag or get that on camera. He's the end of the song, man. Case is a full time member. Marley just got a assist from Chris B. Whoa, we're buzzing right now. What is up, folks? Pinkies up. That's right, biz. You get that pinky up immediately. Episode 640 of Spit and Chickle's podcast. Chris Pronger, Matthew Kitchock, and Pink Whitney. Pinkies up. I don't know if you guys saw that setup that Pink Whitney had at the Barstool Invitational at the park. I set it up. Did you set it up? Good job. I saw Zah and Spider. They're doing different pinkies up dances. There's people in the crowd at Philly who while hating me still respect pinkies up the one guy doing the pinkies up, sending me the video pinkies up your ass. So shout out pink Whitney. Shout out pinkies up. Biz. That was an interesting pinkies up. That's what the Flyers fans are doing in the crowd. Oh, God, God, some respect on the Flyers fans name right now. Hey, we will get into that. We're actually going to start with that. G and RA are loving life right now. I'm not panicking at all. I'm down in the dumps a little bit nervous, but not panicking at all. Tied one one. Merle's is loving life because of his fraud call. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, no. And that for anyone not watching on Netflix is Darth Vlodar. I told you idiots. Okay. I knew I'd own the battle of Pennsylvania. You battled through injury, Darth Darth Vlodar thought he might have been. I could have been like an elbow, but no, no, maybe playing it up, maybe injured and battled his way through my stormtroopers. Protect me. They're in the crowd drinking pink Whitney. And what a barn in Philly. I mean, it had been so long. I think it's been five years since the playoffs, but that was the bubble in Toronto. It doesn't count at eight years, I believe, since a game in that arena, the orange crush crew and holy shit was that place buzzing and they were down. And then all of a sudden they caught fire and this series I picked Pittsburgh. I want to say it could have been five, three, what three? Talk about being wrong once again. Biz, you were all over the flyers and I'll tell you right now, or Darth, that's why you paid the big bucks last night. Cause that breakdown after the second period in discussing Pittsburgh and their stupidity and falling into the trap of scumbag behavior that the flyers live on and thrive on. It might have lost them the whole series. Break it down again for us. Cause you crushed that one. So I, I'm going to take this off a little bit. Can you guys hear me clearly? I would take it off. You made, you made the effect. You are dark. You are dark. Okay. Okay. Thank you. Thank you. Cause I want to get somewhat serious about this from a Pittsburgh standpoint. Like I wanted this series to go the distance. I wanted a seven game battle of Pennsylvania war, you know, going back to the Crosby, Crosby, Ovi Hatcher game, like shit like that going on, right? Like it's good for the game, but my God, the game plan of the Pittsburgh penguins coming to this one. What the fuck are they doing? Like I want to be very clear. I thought that it was bullshit that they fully got the power play out of that full scrum. It was, they shouldn't, it should have been even at, at worst, if not Pittsburgh going on the power play. Okay. Glad you said that. I, I, I also think that half the way stick and Crosby in the face, obviously on purpose being a rat going by and doing that. Um, it sucks that Crosby left his feet cause I think it gave them the opportunity to even it up with envelopes meant if he just grabs his face being like, what the fuck was that? I think half the way is going and, and, and then they're going on the power play again. So I guess fair to give them the embellishment, but sometimes when you get hit in the face like that, when you're definitely not expecting it cause you're about to take a face off and that's not even the guy you're taking the face off against who gets you tough, but buddy, penalties and plays like that go missed all the time and connect me, got that greasy little elbow. The same way that Sam Bennett fucking pop Brad Marshawn, that one game and it wasn't caught. That shit is going to happen all playoffs long and you have to eat it and you have to suck it up and that's what's going to happen if you want to have success, success in the playoffs. So what does he do? They're up one nothing. He fucking lowers himself to the standards of the dirt bag Philadelphia Flyers. You wrote it in the chat with their scumbags. They play scumbag hockey. They got a scumbag mascot. They got scumbag fans. They probably still want Rick pocket fired at this point. Oh yeah. No, no, no, no, I think they're switching. I'd fucking pretty Jordy from Barstool who was fucking chirping the fuck out of me the entire time on Twitter while that was all going down. He's now tweeting about like Mechkov needs to sit. Mechkov needs to sit. I sub tweeted him today. I said, Oh, the fucking turntables, my friend. But if you're the Pittsburgh penguins, this is not your identity. You're not. Okay. You're the Toyota Camry. You're going to get great mileage. You're a, you're a great bargain. You're going to fucking, you're going to get to go 200,000 miles, right? That's what you should be. You're, you're, you're built on rolling four lines, playing disciplined, good, being good on special teams, getting solid goal tending at the right time, which they have gotten. How many fucking saves? Yeah, he's been, he hasn't been, but he's been good enough to win games, not on Skinner. He 1000% it's not on Skinner and he's made more quality saves on, on their, on penguins power plays than quality opportunities that the penguins have gotten. So 1000% not on Skinner. I don't understand after the first two games, going into Philly's environment, how the message in that locker room wasn't like boys, if they fucking rub their stinky mitts in your face, if they sp, if, if half the way hawks another loogie in your face, don't even fucking blink. Just take it, try to get the power play. If the refs are snoozing again, whatever you plow through it, battle through the adversity and just win a fucking hockey game. But what do they do? Connecting gets the little elbow rust fucking goes fucking bananas. He rust went over the top. Like he was trying to kill him on the ground. But then he didn't fight him. But then he didn't fight. So the one real gripe that penguins hand fans have right now, and I'm going to throw it to you guys about this situation is on the ground after he was basically getting like choked out and rust was on him, he kind of started kicking his heels towards them. Now, I don't know, man, pretty harmless with that amount of force and the fact that he's doing it with his heel and it's not like he's doing it with his blade. Still not, not the play. Once again, that's probably why they shouldn't ended up on the power play from that. Here's just a picture of it. And that's when it was going down. I don't know if, if, if connect me when rust was standing over top of them thought he kind of like gave him a little bit of a kick with his feet too. And that's why he did it. But at the end of the day, I would say this to Travis connect his face. You guys play like scumbags. You're kind of a scumbag, but that just means I love you. That means I love you. And I would want you on my team any day of the week twice on Sundays. So what do you guys think about that entire situation? And the Pittsburgh penguins lowering their standards to play dirt bag Philadelphia flyer hockey? I think that this is gone exactly as Philly could have, they couldn't have dreamed it would go this way. They couldn't have dreamed it would go this well. I haven't seen a fourth line dominate like this in a long time. And shout out Sean Couturier, who's never been a fourth line player and flyers fans have been all up in this guy's ass for a few years, man. He's battled all these back injuries and he's been a captain. He's been a warrior. He's been a hell of a player throughout his career. It's been a tough going Philly for a long time. This guy's on the fourth line, no complaints, no bitching. And their fourth line is owning Pittsburgh Pittsburgh. Biz, you said it all year. Their fourth line was phenomenal. They're getting dominated. And I'll tell you, if this series ends in four, which I don't think anyone would be surprised at this point. I mean, maybe, you know, maybe they're able to go out and get one and cross. He's not going to go down with a sweep to the Philadelphia Flyers, but just look at Trevor Zeke. Look at that nonsense that went down. And I agree with you, Biz. Philly had no, there's no way they end up with the power player on after that madness. I don't get that, but whatever it happened and they score. They got 16 guys in the penalty box. Zegris skates over the box. The picture is incredible. The entire box is hugging like they're in a mosh pit. Zegris is celebrating. Now he's down in front of the penguins penalty box with 16 guys in their box. And I'm like, holy shit, the penguins are up one, nothing. They got control of this game. Zegris scores on the power play. And then I think four minutes later, it's three, one. It was like, what just happened? They just won this series in a span of six minutes. And it's exactly how they imagine it. The fans were unreal, like watching on TV. Like that was a lot. That was a lot like Buffalo. I mean, they've been waiting. It hasn't been 14 years, but eight. It's not. That's a fucking long time. And that's a hockey city, man. They love it. They eat up the scumbag behavior. They were and the kick, I think he gets fine. I mean, I know you're saying it wasn't super hard. It's with his heel. It kicks a kick. I get the penguin. Well, if it kicks a kick, it's a match penalty. So like, do you think he should get sussied? Like, what was it? That's where that's where I see your point. I think it's hard to explain to non hockey people and guys who didn't play. I don't think that if you pulled the entire NHL, none of the guys are to say he should be suspended for that, but you shouldn't be doing that, even though it's with your heel and not the actual skate blade. Like you just don't, you just don't do it. But it's, it wasn't like he went like, it wasn't like he went like out like that. He was doing it with his heel like that to trip him, to get him from stop to stop being over top of him and kind of like, he was basically magging. Well, flyers fans said, if you've ever seen an infant try to get up, he was just trying to get up, trying to get up to, but Keek, let me ask you, you played with Katery. Yeah, he's got three points in three games. My thing is though, he's fucking killing people. He was he was he doing that when you play with him? Is he, I don't remember him as this physically physical guy. No, he was more like really good stick, get in on the four check using his stick, but he was also playing 20 to 22 minutes a night and probably didn't want to, you know, hit guys and exert his energy that way. So now that he's playing a lesser role, he can go out there and run around. And it just proves to what, like why he's the captain of that team. Cause a lot of guys, if you've been on the first, second line for 12 years, then you get bumped down, like you're going to play hard, but he's playing like he's been a fourth liner his whole career. And, and he's doing it the right way in Philadelphia. Like if you think of winning a series in the NHL playoffs, you got to have depth scoring. You got to have good defensive play, good goal tending and good special teams. They get in goals from Nick Sealer, wrist to line in half away. Who's the other guy on that line? Not Glenn Denning. Glenn Denning. Flyers have recorded two or more points against the Penguins. Like it's, and I'll tell you, there are some busy texts of the group. No shows on Pittsburgh's roster right now. Not only no shows offensively, like Manta, I don't know. The guy had 33 goals this year. He, he flips it up. They're up three, two. And now granted, we've seen a bunch of guys flipping it over the glass. Like it's kind of, I understand the pressure of the game so fast. They're up, they're down three, two. They got momentum. He flips it over the glass. Boom. No, okay. It's game over. And, and like Chinacov, it's just, it's domination, domination by Philly. And I never saw this coming. And I should have based on how they were playing. What are they like? Look at up G. I think they're like 21 and six in their last 27 games. Like they are just humming and talk. It's got them going and they have depth. And when your fourth line is playing like this, along with business Darth Vlodar, puck man, it is impressive. With Shane Gillis doing the opening thing, you knew they were coming out hot. Like the guy is all time. He's all time. He's going to get the juices going. A Philly, a Philly should hire him. We'll get into Buffalo and Josh Allen. God. But hey, can we talk about Owen tippet? Like another, he's obviously a stud player now too, but he's killing somebody every game and he's making himself. And I remember when I was a kid, my dad would always be like, hit somebody once a game. So people know, like whatever. And obviously I stopped listening after like 12 years old. But like, if you're a guy, if you hit someone once a game, you're going to see it on the video, you're going to be hesitant to go back. If you're a forward and you know, he's back checking, you're going to be hesitant to cut to the middle. Like he is a true power forward and he's playing so well. I mean, the whole team is, but I think he's like the, as he goes, their team goes. And I guess at this point, it's not even fair to call Couturier and those guys the fourth line because they're lugging 17 minutes ice. Like they're being relied upon on, on in heavy situations. And like you guys mentioned that second and third goal, like that was the fourth line getting it done. Like they're getting after they change the momentum, they're being thrown over the boards just as much, if not more than any other line. And I know it wasn't their line who scored the goals. It was both the defenseman, but my goodness, just great work winning puck battles. And going back, like, like, did you like this? I know the bullshit of the fact that they were on the power play, right? It shouldn't have been that I don't even know if the Penguins guys who were killing the penalty realized that they were killing a penalty. Did you see that was your breakdown that I loved, man? So this is like, this is like hockey one on one for fucking amateurs tip used to stress this all the time. If you're the guy, get it coming over the blue line. And it's like, let's say a two on two or three on three. If you end up missing the net as the shooter, more than likely you have the other two guys driving the net, you better be f one coming back, like you better fucking the minute it leaves your stick and you're like, Oh, this missed the net. You're be lining back to your own net to make sure it's not an odd man rush. So they get sprung. Now, here's another bullshit. They got away with one. It was it was kind of a semi two on one. And Forrester grabs the jersey really quickly, gives it a little slingshot. And all of a sudden it's a two on two kind of bullshit. They got away with another one. But if you go back to game two in Pittsburgh, I think we can all agree that Pittsburgh was getting the calls like they were sent to the power. It was a parade to the penalty box for the Philadelphia Flyers. They I think they had in the first in the first like half of the game, they had four power plays guys, they had two shots on that net game at that point and gave up two breakaways and a two on Oh, and like, yeah, like a two on I think they'd given up, I think on their power play like three two on Oh, so far this series like that's fucking insane, man. I would have a meltdown as a coach in locker room. So it's lasot and a charry going on this two on two. But there's a lot like, like just just just pull up like go go to the boards, rag the puck, kill some clock. At this point, you're up one nothing. You're trying to kill this off, kill their momentum, whatever little that they have at that point, and live to fight another day. So he miss misses it completely. And the next thing you know, it's a three on two easy zone entry going back the other way. And you're like, I still what? Where the fuck are these guys still aren't in my screen yet? Why aren't they back checking? So they get they get in the zone. Well, they lose one puck battle. They lose another puck battle. And then boom, it's in the fucking back of their net. It's a it's it's it's it's just stupid fucking hockey. They just their brains fell out of their head. And that's all that's if the if I was the coach before that game, my main message would have been like, boys, don't react to anything. Be the most. Be the vanilla lattes that you are. Roll four lines, skate them into the ground, because that's what they have the ability to do. And I got to I got to give credit, man. Like I know people are aware who Sanheim is. Yeah, the fact that his stick. It's fucking brutal. I would if I had to do one on ones against him in practice, I would be I would be that fucking Russian guy from Minnesota flicking over the glass. I would be man. He's a lot like slavin like they both skate so well. They're stick. So they're not overly physical. They can add offense, but it's not like a main part of their game. Usually they're he's an incredible shutdown defenseman. And he can bring some offense to bring offense. I mean, look at the kill McCarr. I know it's just bad. I love like I love Dan Muse. Great guy. But like he looks like he's in over his head too as along with the whole team. So like there's got to be, I don't know what's going to be said in between game three and game four, but there's got to be something that's set in that locker room where it's we got to figure something out. And when you get down in a series to you want to go out and fucking do it your first shift and get mad, hit somebody like, like you've said biz this whole time, they're not built that way. They got to go back to the way that they know how to win. And whether it's said doing what he does and having a pop off game and Gino has been good. But I think the biggest thing put put hazy in put the big fella in his old team. Why not that bottom forward line that you talked about all year. That was great. They haven't done shit. Bring them in. Let them do his thing. Yeah, it's shocking. I've been shocking. I just I got to give credit. Muse has to get a shirt that fits his neck, his neck. It's shirts way too big. It's it's I think I haven't noticed that. Oh, yeah, it's crazy. Dress shirt is way too big. That could be and I got you think that's the issue. It could be part of it. The Penguins fans. They're just they're furious about the officiating. I mean, the Tang Sun is making tick talks nonstop about how bad the refs are. No way. And I couldn't believe, you know, Muse comes out after and he says Crosby's never embellished once in his career. He was pretty known for that early early on he was he's actually never had that was his first ever penalty for embellishment, though. So technically by the by the letter of the law, he had never embellished. But I think we can all agree that they have a gripe, but mostly for game three. I thought that in game two, that they got the advantage as far as the calls and they didn't take advantage. So yeah, I don't the fact that they found themselves in those situations after being up one nothing is just dumb. It's also, it's also be careful what you wish for. You want more power plays? That's that you're giving up two breakaways a game on the other end. So, and I don't think they've scored short-handed yet. Have they? So like that might be coming too. So be careful what you wish for. No, they have that the with Hathaway got one. Oh, that was yeah. Yeah. Hathaway from tippet that solo effort that was the clipable. That was their new shift. That was insane. Their modern day version, but I don't really have much else to say. I don't know what out to the Flyers fans. Let's say you give them something to cheer about. They've been fucking into the building. I mean, you mentioned it with that looked fucking insane. I will say though that the longer that they keep advancing, the more I'm just going to bring up with the fact that I own half of their fan base. That's right. Yeah. Oh, the longer they go, you look like a hockey genius. So I'll give you credit on that. Yeah. I think I would think most Flyers fans right now are like in their group chats. Like we were wrong. Like biz might have been right. Bizz Jordy has not reached out to say that he's he was one of the biggest catalysts going after me that I was a donkey. I couldn't believe that. Meach cough penalty too. And then it's like, oh my God, I don't think this guy's getting back. So let's have let's have the Meach cough conversation. Like first of all, he had a great end to the season after after the Olympic break to say that that he is like a 15% reason as to why they made playoffs. I think you're smoking crack with gritty. I think there's so many other variables that go into what makes this team successful. But he's he's not he's not necessarily equipped for playing a defensive fast gritty style of hockey come playoff time. And I think that he's left to be vulnerable. I don't think you take him out of the lineup because then all of a sudden it becomes a storyline maybe with half of the idiot fan base. So they're in there in a little bit of a difficult spot here. And they haven't lost so they haven't lost like but but like he's also visibly not been that good. Right. Like can we agree on that? Like going back to last game like the Gerard great a chance lost these own coverage early the first shift in in game three at home like had to turn over inside the blue light. He just like it's not clicking like it is for the other guys who are embracing this type of environment and this type of play. Oh, the better skaters. Oh, be careful, buddy. Be careful. You better that was that was my original take. So I may be a genius too. If they keep moving on and he's actually out of the lineup, but I don't want to break down the flyers, fans. I don't want to get you guys before we leave the flyers. Did you guys see the four check by half away before the sealer goal? No, he I wish we could run it. You got to watch it. He legit it was a kamikaze mission. He came in. He ended he hit his back in his legs on the on the glass. Yeah. Then he's on the bench. He changed it. He's going nuts as they score. Yeah, I saw that was unbelievable. The four check was insane. He could have killed someone and then they end up scoring. But if Meechkov wants to stay in the lineup, if they start, if they move on and he's not playing as well, he's got to do stuff like that. But will he do that? So Philly up three O in total control. Amazing. Congrats to them so far. It's not over, but it seems not over seems to be though. When we talk about Penguins fans and their disgust towards the refs, I don't know if I've seen a fan base more upset at refs than the Minnesota Wild. They they're losing their goddamn minds. They think Jamie Ben should be in prison in the. What was that movie? What's the suit? Green Mile. San Quentin. Oh, what's the green? Where's what's the what's the actor? Oh, yeah. Tom Hanks. No, no, no, no. No, no, no. Buffalo Bill, Buffalo Bill. Yeah. Yeah. The guy Buffalo Bill and that straight jacket, straight jacket, straight jacket. But what is that movie called, boys? Silence of the Lambs. Silent. Yeah. Jamie Ben. Enemy number one. But I'll say this before we talk about what's going on in that series. Minnesota is just so used to just play off heartbreak, play off heartbreak after playoff heartbreak. They can't get a lead to own a series. They lose game two. Dallas great effort in game two, game three, they're going home. Boys, this is when we're going to find out what the wild are made of. This team is different. I think every fan fan of the wild will tell you this is a different team. I'm telling you this is a different team. They have what it takes to get it done to at least get out of the first one. Forget the Stanley Cup. They're down to one. They're playing game four at home. This is when we will find out if it's a different wild team. Because if they can't show up and get a win and if Caprice off can't play a little better than he has been, then Dallas will take control of this series. But biz, what are your thoughts so far? What do you think of last night? Um, Yann's texted it to the group chat this morning, just talking about their hatred for the refs. One of the most wild things I've ever seen from a Minnesota fan base when it comes to the hockey state of hockey, the state of hockey air. So it, I didn't remember who it was, but I saw it and then I saw them overreact. I think it was Wyatt Johnson. You mentioned right? Yann's yes. Why he, he, he's over the red line, like on the offensive side of it. And this is in, I believe the first overtime, maybe even overtime too. And he flicks it. It goes over the glass and the offensive zone. The Minnesota fans were losing their minds wanting a delay a game penalty. I never seen anything like it. I'm like, like, what the fuck is going on here? Like, do these people not know what the fuck is going on? We're missing something behind the play. They were upset about, cause I refuse to believe that they thought that was delay a game when everyone, what is the universal sign for a delay a game? What does everybody on the bench do? What does everybody in the stands do? You go like this, throw your hand up, like it's out. It's out. Everyone in the bottom row did it. Wait, I was sitting there. I'm happy. I mean, it was getting late. I'm like, maybe I'm delusional here, but no, they, for the state of hockey to be thinking that a puck out of the zone in the neutral zone closer to the offensive zone than the defensive zone should be a, a penalty. I don't think anyone who stood up should get, should be able to go to another game. I agree. I agree. You got to give your ticket up. Yup. I just, I just put on. Stop, hub. Man, they go down to nothing. It's like, wow, I get, you know, Dallas, we knew Dallas, they're not going anywhere. Tested in the playoffs, so many good players and many comes back, dude. And not only do they come back, they tie it up. Then they kill about 45 seconds of that five on three. They finish off the kill. McCarron gets the puck in the neutral zone. What a shot by him. He's been great in this series. Awesome on the P K can win draws scores that big goal. They get up three, two, and we haven't even mentioned another boldy masterpiece. Oh my God. And I'm like, holy shit, like this team is nails. Like this team is different. They come back from two, oh, at home. It's three, two. They have complete control and they still can't win that game. And their power play, dude, is not, it is not good. It has to be better or they're fucked with the play. When they were up three, two, they tied it. The sequence of events that happened. Huck hit wall, stead in the head. His helmet didn't came off. He ripped it off. He like kind of shook it off. So faceoff ends in their zone instead of going down, killing some time, whatever. Faceoff in their end, Minnesota ends up coming down almost scoring. Autinger makes an unreal save. Boldy kind of missed it. Backdoor tap in and then they come down and Ranton and makes that incredible play over to Dutchie, which is an insane pass, but an insane shot too. But it's those little small things that it takes in playoffs where, hey, if you're the goalie and you see the puck getting shot down, that's going to kill 20 seconds, just button up your helmet yourself instead of ripping it off. Like it's little, minute things. And I didn't even know I think it was Edzo biz on that broadcast. It was like, that's not an automatic whistle. Like I kind of, I think I've heard that. I just couldn't, he's like, the ref has complete, you know, he's able to not blow the whistle just because your helmet's off. If there's a play going on and if you knock it off on your own, like that's not an automatic. Yeah, I think it's they tend to like blow it quick for goalies. I got obviously that that case. I thought it was actually weird in the fires game when Volidar lost his skate, the late, they blew it down right away, which was a, which was a weird one. It was a couple of seconds though. Yeah. Yeah. But they still blew it down. It was still in the D zone, I think. But Jens that you just mentioned that like that Ranton and when he got it on the tying goal, 99% of guys try to fire that and score that goal. Cause there was a little bit of an opening, but for him to like do the pump fake, do another pump fake, and then everybody's just scrambling in the middle of the ice to try to get the block or get in his way. And then he just finds Dutchie back door. And I don't, I feel like Dutchie maybe earlier in his career and even halfway through his career, well, one, he was getting bought out by the Nashville fucking predators and maybe got kind of labeled as a guy who couldn't raise his level come playoff time, but he has been one of the best players in the series, especially in the absence of Roupé hits. How about the back check he had to stop? That was incredible. Yeah. Take it away, man. It's, it's been really, really cool to see for a guy who's been kind of pigeon tossed throughout the first half of his career where he's found a perfect home. We've had him on to talk about it as well, where he'll do anything for this Dallas team and he is doing it right now. The next name that we have to mention, uh, we'll get to Wyatt Johnson and the, and the scoring goal and how sick and nasty he is at tipping Pax, but mirror he's getting, you know, what that, you know, the, uh, Wyatt Johnson comparison is what Liam Blutton Blutman told me, what Joe, Joe Pavelski, cause they were together and he, I remember seeing videos of them working together, such a good call by bloody. Well, yeah, yeah. It's on the broadcast, like, uh, uh, Liam McHugh brought it up as well. He lived with Joe Pavelski. Yeah. Like he lived there. So he, yeah, he started developing that skill when he got to the NHL. And I was going to say, when you saw, I said a comparable, I feel like, like, like Jake Gensel was, and it always has been very good around the blue paint for a small guy, finding empty space, even, you know, embracing and taking contact for being a smaller player, always finding that, that, that, that loose puck and just being a little bit of a, like a squid in there. Right. Very slippery sucker, as they say, uh, and he ends up tipping in an absolute beauty and their power play comes to life before I get to Miro Hayeskin. And I thought when they had that power play before they went through about a minute and a half of it. And I thought Gullitson was going to call a timeout and maybe use it to get the fresh legs for the last 30 seconds of that power play. He decides not to, he goes with the second unit. They actually got a pretty good scoring chance out of it. And what's he do when he gets their next, they get their next power play. Robertson and I think one or two other guys from their power play were on the ice when they drew the over the glass call. It finally uses that timeout. They get to the whiteboard, they make a few adjustments and boom into the back of the net. It's a classic example, Minnesota. It's right in their fingertips. They got it and then they drop it. They had plenty of power play opportunities. They just can't find a way to pre soft off to the side of the net. Unbelievable save by Ottinger. Total, total difference of what both organizations have been through and play off. So I want to quickly, I want to get into the wild fans complaints, but I do want to bring up that they are one for 11 in the last two games on the power play. Who are they missing? Zuccarello. They're missing Zuccarello. Is he a righty? They had, he's a lefty. They had five power plays in the third period and overtime. Nothing. Right. They have Brink out there. Why don't you put Faber out there with Hughes? Look at Faber so far in this series. Yeah. He could score. He's offensive. He's got a great shot. He could skate. Just go with the two D system. I don't know if wild fans agree with that, but like, yeah, I would love to have Faber out on the power play. Right. And I understand not having Zuc's a big loss, but Caprice off has to be way better and wild fans, they're, they're talking about it. I mean, he starts to make it 17 million next year. He had an amazing first game. It was a blowout. Where's he been in the last two? In terms of the Jamie Ben hit on, on Boldie, I, I loved, uh, Henrik Lunk was on the broadcast. I couldn't believe answer cars like that's not a purpose at all. Like, I don't know, man, like Jamie Ben, this is what this guy does. He's, he is a motherfucker. And so just immediately say that all that was, I have to kind of eat it too. Cause I, I said that like, ah, you just can't pin it on him. Like he's jump and he's jumping, looking like he's out of the way. And in real time, the refs, like, are you, are you saying, what should they do? Call a match? Should they call a match and then review it? Like what should they do in that situation? Yeah, that's the only time you could do that. I don't know. It happens quick, but I'll say there's guys who, when they do things like Bennett, I'll put Jamie Ben there. Like it may not look on purpose. And then you're like, well, look who it is. Look who it is. And wild, but wild fans. They just, they are so adamant that they're getting fucked over by the refs. It's like your power plays had 11 chances in the last two games. You got one goal. You're, you're up three to two in the third period. You got guys sliding around. Yes. That ranted and pass was incredible. We didn't even mention that do Shane. That's not an easy offside one time or like he wants to win me. I thought he was going to at least drag it in. I think he had like no angle there. And then they end up, they end up like taking over and winning that game. But another example of, we talked about Manta flipping it over the glass and Kate's makes it four or two that you're off. Like he flips it over the glass and double overtime. You said Galzen takes the time out. Boom. Game over. They have control. I just want to see what the wild in game four like this, what are they made of? Are they the same old wild? Right. Are they going to just kind of up down three, one, lost both home games? There we go. Another first round exit. Are they going to come back play the game of their season? I don't know if Zuccarell be able to play. You kind of realize now after what Stepan said to us on Monday, how important he is. Like they need him back. I don't know what's going on there, but that's another headshot that wild fans are furious about that Myers gave them. Okay. And then how do you guys feel about like Felino getting whoever on the turnbuckle? Harley. That was that was exactly. That's true. So it's kind of like, okay, what do they want? Do they want Ben? They want Ben gone. They want them sent to the electric chair. Is that what, is that what they want? Yes. I feel like that's a situation where accidentally on purpose, uh, I suck that bold, he went down the tunnel, but he came back and had a goal or a sister on that goal. Like he fucking was at the Olympics again. So I agree with you with, you can't really put it on the officials. If you're, if you're mini wild fans, you just want to go bananas because you hate Jamie Ben and he's a serial killer, but in the same breath, you got dirtiness going on on the other side as well. And in terms of, in terms of the complaints about, they were also complaining about do Shane on Felino, that one, knowing, knowing Shane's game, that one, the shot was blocked and you just got tripped up on him and kind of landed on the back of his head. I did not think any part of that was, was on purpose. No. No, I agree. Do you think Minnesota goes with, uh, to Gustafson? I don't know because I think wall stats been pretty good. Yeah. No, he has been good. I mean, there's only questions and Buffalo and people are now bringing up Gustafson, but Audinger, man, he stood tall, made some big saves. I mean, they also got lucky. Caprice off hit the post there at the end of the first overtime. I, this is, this is when we're going to find out if this wild team is different than the rest of the teams that they've had that have had good chances to go on a little bit of a run and that have gone bowed out in the first round. So we're going to learn a lot about this team in game four. Um, we have a very special guest coming on, but first we do have to talk about Reese's. Some fans believe in terms of destiny, but I believe everything happens for Reese's. Just think about it. What is the one thing every team or athlete wants? That's a championship. So quick other thing before developing is I just saw this video. If it looked like, uh, it looked like Russ kind of gave, well, he gave him a little bit of a kick gave him a little bit of a kick. So that was just a different angle that I hadn't seen before. They're equal on the kicks. Yeah. We had a kickoff. Let's bring prongs in. He knows a little bit about that. Speaking of pieces of Yeah, the next leaf GM right there folks. Let's go. Let's go. You got a great tango right now. Prongs. Dides. You're on paying just a lot of things you can do. There's a lot of things you can do for vitamin D. Prongs. What? Yeah. Go ahead. What's up, buddy? Um, we just chatted, we chatted Philly Pittsburgh. We chatted Minnesota, Dallas. I don't know if you have any thoughts on either one of those before we get into the Edmonton Oilers and some thoughts I have there. There seems to be as in all playoffs, a lot of question marks around goal tightening. Yes. And the other series are no different regardless of pedigree. You know, Vasilevsky under the boss after game one and Tampa. Uh, well, it's, uh, it's that time of year, I guess, right? No doubt. No doubt. Um, do you have any emotional attachment to the, the battle of Pennsylvania having played for the Flyers? Like how do you feel that series is gone and, and maybe what would you have done differently to approach it? If you were in that Penguins locker room based on where they're at right now? Um, I have a little attachment. Of course I want Flyers to win. First and foremost, but, uh, I think just what they went through the last, let's call it 30, 40 games. Actually, really the first 40 went and they were, uh, under under siege from fans and you, you were a nice recipient of some of that, uh, vitriol. But, uh, but I think as we've, as the seed has gone along and I think all of that, um, as all of that is transpired, you know, I think it creates some scar I think it brings them closer together as a group. And I think now we're seeing a, a byproduct of the development. I think the understanding of their systems and structure that talk, I think people, whether they realize or not, he's very sound defensively and in the structure and how he wants the team to play and it gets a team like Pittsburgh. That's, that's in his wheelhouse. So he's going to shut them down. And then they've got the offensive weapons to then, you know, with Tyson forced to come back and add in Porter, Marton, they've got more offensive weapons and tip it, take it as game to a next level. My God. I mean, think about the last time I was out with you and, you know, talking about him and how inconsistent his second half of the year, if he can keep this going, uh, for the rest of his career, it's going to be an impressive stretch for him personally. I think. Prongs, you, you played against talk and you know, obviously he's been around to the league, you've been around the league. What do you see that the way he played that he brings to this team? Because they're motherfuckers out there. Well, as everybody knows, he played hard, a highly competitive, you know, I think, but, but from a grit standpoint, but then showing, showing up in key moments and being accountable, um, you know, I think that's something that I see with their team that maybe they were lacking more so than anything else. It's just the accountability to one another and, you know, playing, playing the system, but then playing hard every single night and every single shift. It, it's, you know, it becomes contagious. And you're seeing that, I think, and him not caving maybe into the pressures of the fan base with the development of Matt Day Mitkoff and some of the other younger players in, in forcing them to kind of learn the system and the structure that he wants them to play with without, you know, as they now understand that, and they kind of take hold of that without eliminating their offensive capabilities. You know, I think playing tight defensively, they get quick stops, they get in transition, their defense score gets it up quick. And then those forwards can, they can move and you see them playing with pace and speed and, and really attacking with a purpose. And I think that's something they've lacked in years past. Progs, I think obviously after game three, one of the topics of conversations is Pittsburgh fans really feel like they got hose, like with the embellishment call on Crosby, with the way they connect me, went after Russ. Have you, have you ever been in series where you felt like you were getting the short end of the stick, especially after like one particular game? And how do you come back? Every single one of them. How do you change every playoff story? Is this a joke? The National Hockey League should be embarrassed. I don't know. That's obviously your, your, your joking, right? Yeah. I am. But, but I'm sure that there's been a few games where you have been frustrated. What do you, how do you like act in the locker room? Like, what do you do to talk or settle down your teammates or what's the, what's the appropriate approach for, for the way that Pittsburgh should handle it after maybe feeling that after game three. Yeah. I mean, as you do all know, they've got a very experienced locker room. They've got, they've been there, done that. They've been a part of countless teams on the highest stages. Yeah. I expect the, you'll get their best in game four. I think it's, it's more a calming and understanding. They still had plenty of looks with respect to power play. They really didn't generate a whole lot. They, they looked like they were struggling to move the puck around in zone. Philly did a really good job of pressuring at the right time and, and eliminating seen passes and eliminating the middle of the box. And, and in doing so, I think I really kind of angered them a little bit and maybe got them off, off their, their game. And then if you're at your Pittsburgh, it's more just like it's, it's one game at a time when you're down three zip, you're, you're on desk door. You have to really be focused on next shift. I mean, the cliches come out obviously, but it's next shift, next period, next, like there is nothing after this next game that they don't win. So it's a matter of finding some momentum, you know, getting, getting a lead and then holding the lead and trying to defend a little bit better because they've, they've struggled at times. Bronx going over to Minnesota and Dallas. I forgot to mention this part. If the wild lose their 10th straight playoff series, that would be the longest in NHL history. Do you think they have what it takes to get back in this series win game four at home? And would you say if they lose that go down three one, that's curtains for them this series? If they go down three one, it's curtains. Yes. So this next game, you know, two, two or three, one, I mean, vitally important, especially with Dallas having home ice, that's, that's only going to add to the pressure and, and allow the momentum and the, um, the Dallas stars to really confidence, to continue to build. They're getting their big guys all engaged now off, and instead of Lee, which doesn't play into the mid a small wild winning very much as you get Robinson involved and you get, uh, why Johnson involved. Yeah. Hey, he's going to is looking great. Like he just all of their younger weapons or mid tier weapons are, are playing at a high level and that's, that's where they're most dangerous. And then you add Ranton and, and, and some of these other guys and, and it's, uh, it's a machine. I didn't really get a chance to, to, to go into Hey, he's getting too much, um, before you hopped on prongs. Like who, who would you compare him to from your time and like, what do you do? What do you see from this guy? He missed the last, I believe three games before playoffs started and, and there was maybe some question marks on whether he was even going to play. And I think he lugged 41 minutes last and quickly we've, we had the discussion with you about number one defense man. I believe last night it was 10 minutes power play, 10 minutes, PK and like 23 minutes, five on five. That's kind of what you were talking about. Does that qualify? He's like, no. He's in the colony one now. Did he have seven penalties? No. How many cross checks did he inflict on his opposition? No, he's definitely in the conversation. He's had a great year. Uh, it's nice to see him, you know, come off last year with the, with the ACL and everything and, and to come back with the type of year that he's had. Uh, he is as important a player on that team as, as anybody. Uh, A with the minutes he logs, but how he dominates when he's out there. He's such a slick, simple puck mover. He's not flashy. He makes a smart play. He's highly effective defensively. He's such a great skater, uh, elite edge work. Uh, you know, he's a fun player to watch. And, you know, again, uh, Hayes, can in my car, you know, three, four in the draft. The, I don't know if there's a right or wrong way to go. I think if you're Colorado, you're thinking Dallas, but, um, you know, he's, he's on a, he's starting to, I see his game getting to that elite level now where he's in the conversation for the Norris. He, he always left me wanting a little bit more. And now he's kind of getting over that hump. He made a play on that first goal, about 90 seconds into the game. He didn't get an assist, but I think it was Duchain moved it to Robertson and Robertson's looking to go back door to rent and, and Hayes can in his middle lane driving, and he doesn't even look at Robo. He goes right to Middleton and he locks up his stick and allows that scene pass to go over. Like just, I just feel like his hockey intelligence from a 200 foot game. And so many areas of the game that he touches. I think he's top, what eight D men in the league year over year easily, if not top five and to come out, like you said, to come off an ACL and do what he's doing. It's, uh, it's pretty remarkable. I was, uh, I was just going to quickly go back to Philadelphia. Did, did you remember having any funny or silly interactions with their, their crazy fans? I remember a Sean Burke told me a story is he was playing there and they won two one and he was leaving the rink and one of their own fans was like, you suck Burke. And he's like, we fucking won two one. He's like, yeah, but the goal you let him was shit. And he's like, you cannot keep these fucking idiots happy. They're miserable. And you know what? They want perfection. And by, by favorite experiences, by first year preseason, we're, we are winning. I think it was five, five one or five two. There's like two minutes left. And again, and there's like a guy five rows up back. I'm now firmly planted on the bench. I'm not leaving. There's two minutes left. Do something out there from her. Oh my God. I turn around and I look at him. I'm like, buddy, there's two minutes left. He goes, I know a little care. It's fine. You let's go. Oh, find somebody do something. It's preseason body. The game is over. They want it all the way to the final buzzer. They want it, which is awesome to see. Fun to be a part of. And, and yeah, and they're, they're humming along. How I am happy for those fans, even though they're scumbags. Um, we got to ask them a little bit more about mini Dallas. No wit. I'm just so antsy to talk about Edmonton. If you have something else on mini, I got one for many, I got one for many, uh, just with Zuccarello, well, when we saw it during the regular season, like how much he means to that team, obviously at his age and he's not their best player on their team, but what he brings to that team is noticeable as of even a fan watching and I got to play with him. So I know he brings, you know, I know what he brings, but what can that team do with missing a guy like that? Who kind of just seems to settle everybody down, you know, that makes the right plays when he needs to, he's lethal on the power play, but what, what, what, what does Minnesota need to do to kind of fill in for that role of him not being there? Well, that's the hard part. It's hard to fill in a guy that is, has that kind of patience and, and Hock Trowell said follows him around. He, uh, I don't know if he's that, but player you wrap a, um, with the stars or pardon me, with, with the wilds, he, he kind of drives the bus as, as much as it goes through Capri Zov and, and Hughes, he's, he's there and, and is, uh, a, an incredibly important part of what drives their offense. Yeah. He's just so skilled too. And, and he's just such a veteran. Um, but he's smart, but he, but he's also really smart defensively. That goes unnoticed so much. He does a lot of the little things in the D zone that gets quick turnovers, or he's just, he's able to put a stick in the right spot to deny a lane. He's just, he's a really smart hockey player. Bronx should make David be a healthy scratch for game three. Okay. Biz had to go there to start it off. I knew he would. He's sending out tweets, wit, you need to address this pathetic performance. I'll start off with this. Um, I'm not panicked at all. I'm not panicked at all. Did I get a little ahead of myself ranting and raving how Ducks fans shouldn't even watch the series. Yeah. Yeah. That one was probably a little bit ridiculous on my part. You're passionate. It was, yeah, I was just so fired up leading into game one on Monday. I, I, I pretty much have, have, have been open on us that I think McDavid's like the best hockey player I've ever seen. I can admit that was the worst two games I've, I've ever seen him play. Forget before the injury and that is scary as hell the way he looked after it. But even game one and before the injury in game two prongs, I've never seen him have this many passes deflected. It was very odd. Like all these plays where he's going under your triangle, through your legs, it seemed like he was trying to do too much and it leads into like, I think, I think it's everyone's well aware how bad this guy wants this. Like he, he's obsessed with getting a Stanley cup. They lose the gold medal. It makes this mean even more. I think he's just trying to do too much. And I know that sounds crazy because he's usually able to do whatever he wants. But he just seems like the pressure is so high and he's wound so tight. It's almost like you need, you need a teammate to kind of calm him down a little bit and the injury part buddy, first biz, you said it, he might have got cut. And that was definitely kind of like, yeah, because there's skates around there when at home kind of falls over, then you see his ankle just goes in. He leaves the bench. It's like panic time. He comes back and everyone's tweeting and on our group chat, he's back. He's back. I said, well, let's just see for a second. And he came back and you could tell like he is, he's, he's, he's kind of worried about it. He's not exactly himself. And then that play on the power play, that's one of the worst plays ever. If that was Bouchard who made that play, Twitter might have burned to the ground. And I think it was because like that's a play. McDavid just spins out and I, it was Luke Gadzik. So the clip of Hawkeye and Kassay and that's four or five crossovers. Boom, he's gone. And you could tell he's just, he doesn't feel right. Now it did look better in the third period, but I want to give the Ducks some credit. They put Goatier up on the line with Leo Carlson and Troy Terry, Leo Carlson, Leo Carlson boys. If you remember that draft, it was, it was a Boudard and then it was Phantilly. And Pat Verbeek went off the board and he took Leo Carlson. I'm going to read you something very quick. Right now, this is regular season through the first hundred and two hundred and one games for Carlson, dry sideals first, a hundred and ninety one games. Dry settle had 50 goals in 201 games. Carlson has 61 dry cell at 87 assists. Carlson has 80, a hundred and twenty three points for dry settle. A hundred and forty one for Leo Carlson. I think we're looking at a legitimate superstar. He has looked so dominant in these games. He's so fast, so big. Goatier comes alive. Admitted there. They're in a series. I'm confident they're going to win, but they're in a series prongs. I don't, I don't think you're looking at one. I think he is one. Yeah. You're right. If you haven't watched, you know, much, much of their season, I don't watch a ton of Anaheim, but when I have, he has always stood out. And I think that injury in the middle part of the season that the injury had, you know, you could see it him not being at the Olympics for Sweden really hurt them. You know, that was a key player in up the middle for them. And when you're watching just the ability to control the play at all times, when he's out there, he has the puck on his stick. Yep. And he's kind of like McDavid, where he's just wheeling around looking. But I think he, he involved his teammates a little bit more, whereas McDavid went to take it and kind of use his speed and kind of go through everybody. Carlson's given and going and moving around and, and utilizing everybody on his, on his team. So it's, they play a little bit the same, but, but differently. And, you know, you talk about the stats, you know, it's going to be interesting to see what Pat Verbeek does with this next contract, the little Carlson, because it's, you know, just don't handle it like the Zegers one. Yeah, exactly. And from what I've heard, the numbers are pretty big. You just brought up dry side. That's the number that I heard. Yeah. And it made it right. And I got to shout out Morals biz. Morals was saying he should go number one overall then. And there's part of me right now. I'm like, I'm not, this is not a badard. I would take him over Badaar in a second. Right now, I know. Not to like, Hey, Badaar is going to be awesome. He had a great first half of this year. Like he's got super stardom in his future too. I just like, I mean, you're, you're looking at a guy who's like an Ozzie Copatar or a Barkov, right? Like you look at a guy who's going to, like, would Copatar put up in his prime, a hundred point seasons where he was fucking all over the ice, doing everything, just a big mongoloid, like just leaning on you. You can't move him. He's built like a brick shit house. Like this is what he is. Like that's what you, that's what you win with. That's your prototype. If you could make a number one center in a lab, you're creating Leo Carlson. And he, people keep also saying that, and I kind of see it too. And I get why they say it. He moves like, like, like, like Forrest Berg, like Peter Forrest Berg. The way he's able to stick, handle and control the puck. For a guy his size, it almost looks like it's unnatural. Like I'm like, how does he do that? Yeah, he's huge. He skates like the wind and it's just like, I'm, I'm watching him more closely. Obviously right now I'm like, this guy's a problem. And then you got Gauthier and Troy Terry's playing real well. Now Edmonton really went, what's up? When one thing I will add is that I think. The other thing, the ducks are not scared of Edmonton. Right. I think I think they've seen, you know, they have just as much pace to their game and speed. They're young. They've got skill. So from that perspective, and you could argue, if you look at the back end, they're probably a little more higher end when you add in LaComme, for Zellweger, Carlson, Carlson edition, you know, for the power play, you know, it's, you know, they match up really good with that. They do. From an offensive perspective, if Edmonton can, Edmonton can tighten things up, you know, and not force things. I think at times when they don't get a lot of looks, they get frustrated because they want to be an offensive juggernaut. They want to score goals. It just, it's sometimes it's about being patient, winning a 2-1 game. And you talk about number one D-man, that Jackson LaComme. Well, he's a son of an officer. He's averaging 25 minutes this series. He played 26 in a half game, one, three assists, last game. I think that he's, I mean, do you classify him as a number one yet or just well on his way? He's, he's, he's tre- I mean, he's still developing his, you know, weaponry, if you will. But he's in the, as you talked about Hayskin in and where he is on that list, you know, he's in that next tier, you know, looking to move up into that Norris conversation every single year. You know, he's that good. We haven't even mentioned his cold shoulder to Hyman in the first game that was just the perfect, I mean, Hyman left the game. You know, luckily he's okay. Now Edmonton side. Thank God Leon came back. Leon in game one, he looked like he hadn't missed a game. Like it was incredible the way he was able to come back. He dominated, he made that play on the winning goal where he got into the zone. He actually went by LaComme there. That was a little bit of like, holy shit, I thought I had him. He's that good. But in game, in game two, they're still never out of it. It's it's crack hockey, the Oilers playoffs. It's legitimately the Joker with his head out the window screaming and yelling and Gotham. It's like you are on crack watching this team play. They tied it up. And then to give up that goal, what was so upsetting is Echom, who him and Bouchard have been great. They really have. Echom makes a nice play, retrieves the puck in his own zone. He gets the net. He has the easiest reverse of all time to Leon. Like the guy's kind of on him. I think it was polling and he doesn't reverse it. He gets the net on polling, has room to skate and ice is the puck down. It was like, oh, my God, you could have reversed it to your sentiment. I don't know if Leon's talking enough. Who knows in terms of like communication, then you ice the puck and they score. It's like it's just simple mistakes. We've seen a lot of plays in the playoffs so far of dumb icings. We talked about the door off in game one for Boston, where you're like, God, like this team's been through so much and their battle tests in the playoffs. And then a mistake like that bites him in the ass at the end. We got we got bad icings making guys delete their social media. Yeah, right now. Oh, yeah, Kirby dock. That's another one. That's another one. But but I'll say Oilers fans are some tweets about Ingram's numbers so far. They're not great. I still feel more comfortable in that look with him than I did Skinner. Maybe that's just me trying to like hold on hope. What? Yeah, that's crazy. Are you on crack? Ingram looks like a beer league. I don't think they've lost these games because of him. And I remember each year Skinner while they did win games because of him, especially in the conference finals against Dallas, they would lose games because of him early on. That's where I'm at right now. They're asking you if you told this if before this series, you said that Mac David wouldn't have a point. They wouldn't have a power play goal and Bouchard wouldn't have a point. I'd be like they're tied one one. That's fair. So what do you what do you what do you guys make of of that play? Like Bouch is unbelievable. Like I said, give him the Norris if you guys want like the season. He had numbers wise, especially after a tough start and the resilience he's had. He cross checks Mac Tavish on that first goal, like clear cross check. Like should have been sitting for two. So then Mac Tavish gets up, he goes out of me, tries to lift the stick and he nicks him and then Bouchard just stops playing and looks at the ref and is like, Hey, what the fuck? Call a penalty. And then boom, it's in the back of the net where it's like, buddy, you just fucking got away with a cross check and then you just completely stop playing and then it's in your back at your net. Did you see that sequence prongs? I didn't see that one. No. But you described it perfectly. Yeah, that just goes. But biz that goes to like maybe they thought going into this series, like they're just going to walk through them and then a little bit of adversity and shit's going to go to their heads and they lose their minds because Bouch is a calm player, like when shit goes down. So maybe just Anaheim has them in a blender a little bit. I think I think that is the case. And you mentioned Leon, if it wasn't for Leon, I think that line in general, like there's no wonder he loves playing with Cappadoce closing that cap and then like he's got to be on the peptides for sure. The way he's going. Yeah, he's been good. Well, he's missed a lot of your time. Yeah, there you go. Maybe it helps, right? Prongs like you miss time and then you come back healthy. You're kind of like more rested, some some better legs, maybe. Sorry for getting up there. Had to have a quick hose, but I talked about Philly's fourth line. I have never heard of Tim Washey, Ian Moore or Jeffrey Vial. They're they're dominating right now. The Washi was playing second line center for them for a little bit during the season when they had a few injuries like he's a solid player. And G. St. Vial came from Boston. So I mean that all those are in what I'm confident they're going to win this series, Prongs. Do you even more as a defenseman? Is he at number three? Yeah, he's running around. He plays both. He plays both. Yeah, anyone can do that. We all know as the as D, you know, you can just shut your brain off. If you want to be a forward, just shut your brain off and go play forward. Well, you know what? Goudis misses the game. Kind of surprised. I don't know if that's an injury. I think it's an injury, but that was what I thought would be a bigger loss than it was. Anaheim looks really good back to the pond. Place should be electric prongs. We appreciate you coming on, dude. I don't know if you have any other thoughts. He's he's got skin in the game. He's got skin in the game on every team. He's an alumni of every team. Utah, Carolina, technically Hartford. Yeah. Anaheim Edmonton, Billy. He's got everyone. So that is true. Yeah, he's going to win it. He's going to work. All four corners of the globe. We got him. But the real reason we got you on is, is what would you do with the Leafs? Rebuild, retool. That's a great question, Biz. You know, we. What are you doing? Your resume for what are we doing? I I slept in for my zoo meeting with Pelle. No, I missed it. Yeah, I commented myself. I took a gummy the night before and I slept in. You look, one I look, one hard on that one. But I did mention that I I don't think six assistant GMs is enough. That's what they had last year. We're going to move to nine and you were one of the guys I have at my roundtable. So I just want to let you know that, like, I'm a rider, die. But do you do have so? So have you been asked by any team and or are you interested in like taking that type of role? Because obviously you've been doing a lot of media and you're great at it. And it's good hearing the insight from a fucking, you know, a Hall of Famer. But are you more interested in getting into the to like the the battle again? I've talked to a couple teams. Just about different positions, coaching, you know, managing whatever. Now, again, as I said, I'm always willing to have a conversation and hear what the opportunity looks like, both on my side and their side. You know, what what they're interested in. And, you know, nothing's gone further than that. Are you are you able to say what I'm doing? Just rooting on every team in the playoffs. Yeah, I've got four teams in the mix right now. Gene is playing with house money. How long does it take you to prepare to prepare for like a meeting like that? And you obviously it seems like you're talking to each team, maybe about different potential roles. So what's like the prep like going into a meeting like that? Just wake up. He's Chris Prongard, right? No, I think you have to look at what A, what the role is. And then B, you know, what you got to dissect, you know, hockey ops. You got to dissect the team. You got to look at prospects. You got to look at everything to see where they are, you know, in their every team goes through cycles and that's that's where you have to figure out where they are, what they need, where they are and how to. First said, what you would do. And it's going to vary. Everybody's going to be different. I as as you know, I tend to just say what's on my mind and I have my own views and opinions and sometimes they fit some people and other times they don't. But I'm not going to change that part of it. It, you know, certain if you're asking about your leaves, you know, I think it really just depends on what Matthews wants to do. You know, he's the he's the centerpiece of their organization. If he wants to come back, then what does the number look like? You know, it's not it's not a blank check anymore to keep them. It's, you know, we want to fit you in under our structure and and salary, salary, pay our payroll, what we want to justify paying you to then fill in around you. And as we've seen with other teams and, you know, we it's it's Toronto. It's he's going to make a lot of endorsements and all the rest of that. He wants to be a part of it. And so he did. I see he doesn't want to be a part of a rebuild, which I don't blame him. You know, that will take a little bit of time to go through the whole ordeal of draft picks, which they don't have currently, they're going to have to get. All right, so it would be a big process. All right. Last last quick one. If you could pick your dream situation with an organization right now, who would it be and what would the role be? Really thought about that. All right. You know, because that's an answer. That's an answer. Yeah, exactly. By your play again, that'd be great. I'd love to go back out and spear someone. That's his dream. Actually, your next guest. I got his dad. I didn't get him, though. They should get you in Buffalo to chug a beer and hit the drum. You can do better than Josh Allen. Yeah. Prongs mentions our next guest. Prongs, thank you so much. We're going to get to him right now. We'll talk to you soon. You bet. Great one. I was quick before I get to these two quick ads. I do have to mention that McDavid has two points in his minus nine in his last six playoff games. So for those were against the guy we're about to bring on. Well, again, I got a statement first. Besides Stella Blue is incredible. Did you did you hear when prongs was talking about Toronto? A lot of wheeze he was saying. Well, he had already said that I did not. I think it was with overdrives. Like I did not interview for the GM position, but he did not deny interviewing for maybe another position. Oh, OK. I honestly thought he'd say I don't want anything to do with that organization because biz has an alumni jacket never played for the team. But there is I'll just leave it this. There is a strong possibility that that jacket will not return. Yeah, yeah, that makes sense. That that jacket should be you should just maybe like that thing on fire at your Jackson Hole home and just move on and that the fans probably want you to move on and just find another team. You've had 15 different teams through the course of your career as a podcaster. Maybe look to get a jacket from somebody else. I'm sure Ryan Smith could give you one. Maybe I get the address of our next guest and I send it to him. No, bring him in. Matthew Kachuk, everyone. He's finally taken a couple months off in the playoffs. Congrats, you're a new dad. But I did another trophy. And more than anything, Matt, congrats to your brother and the Ottawa senators because Kyle Ivan, he's in Asia. And if you don't know who Kyle Ivan is, everyone, that's the lead singer of that band that has mushed the senators two years in a row. They sent him to Wuhan. I think he's in Wuhan right now. He's gone. Matthew, what's up? Well, what's up, boys? How are you guys doing? Yeah, I think that's good news for for everybody in in Ottawa right now. It was, I don't know, I actually went to that game on on what was it? Monday? They played well, but it's fuck Carolina play hard. It's a grind of a series right now. So hopefully you can get one back in Ottawa. Is there any truth to the rumor that Big C's is doing a mixtape right now, preparing for a song for you guys for next year's run? Stop. I don't know. I mean, I don't I don't think anything will anything will screw it up unless we do what we did this year. But we don't we don't let that shit bother us there. But for Ottawa, I mean, they don't need any more of that attention stuff. Just let the boys play. Yeah, yeah, exactly. So it must have been weird, like seeing that goal disallowed. And then they have to like have to lower bowl. They like thought the game was over and they left and then they weren't they weren't allowed to come back in the building. So you were there to kind of witness all that. Yeah, well, first of all, it was fucking weird that I was even there. I told my brother I had a like a handshake agreement with him. If I was ever not in playoffs and he was, which to me, I was like, there is no chance he's ever going to happen. So I guess that was some bad karma for me. So I held up my end of the bargain. I'm like, I will go. I'm not going to Ottawa, but I will go there. First of all, those fans there were super nice. Like they're actually like really, really, really good people. And you don't really realize when you're watching it from not being a player. How loud that fucking building gets like what an act like probably that building and Edmonton game six two years ago and then Colorado playoff series. Like my second or third year, the loudest buildings other than Florida, like our Calgary, like being in a way of building for a playoff game. So really, really cool. Gold disallow was weird. We got right up when we had some people waiting for us to bring us down to see Brady. So we got out of the elevator downstairs or waiting in that long hallway in Carolina. And I look at the ice and I see some of the players on Carolina haven't left the bench yet. So I go and I look and they're showing stuff from the jumble. I try and I got no idea what's going on. All of a sudden they come out disallowed and go and Ottawa's like management and like their eye in the sky and everybody walked by us already. So they came down from the press box to go into the locker room. So they're all walking by us. Everyone's like, you know, not a great mood. They announce it and we all race to the elevator. Go back up to like our club area and yeah, I got to watch the rest. But I mean, Ottawa, they play good. Carolina is just stingy. Like they play really, really solid. I think that it'll help Ottawa going back home. So I do think Caroline is a little bit of a different team on road versus home with the starts and like the energy they come out of the game at home. Like you've got to just hold on. It seems like at the start. But going back home, it'll be good. I think everybody knows it doesn't matter what you do in plus until you lose a game at home, then you're screwed. So I mean, this thing can still go the distance here. Matthew Tim Timmy Stutzel, he's been he's been all over it, right? Like he's getting opportunities. He's got great looks at it. Just hasn't hasn't found it yet. Like what do you think will take for him to pop off? Because it looks like he's on the verge of just popping off and being in absolute menace out there. Yeah, he's dancing. He was definitely dancing in that game, too. I think with Carolina, like they're not going to give you anything easy. So like you have to be willing to beat a guy man on man and put that head down and take it right to the fucking net. Like you just you got to do it. Like it's it's a hard system to play, but it is hard to play against. So I mean, I look for all that even like a telling Brady to like when you're playing a team like that, that really leaves like if the D's man on man, like they're going out to the point. Like they're anywhere. They'll go anywhere with you. They'll chase you up and down the ice. I was I was talking to a meal. I was talking to my I was talking to my dad about it during game. During the game, I'm like, watch up. Like Chatfield had the guy that was stretched out and like a neutral zone breakout and his guy came all the way back below the goal line. And normally when you come back and most systems like the forwards take the low three, he followed the guy all the way back. So it really comes down to one on one battles against these guys. And I was telling Brady, like if you're at the net, scream for that puck, trust yourself and a one on one match up in front of the net against whoever you're stronger than majority of their players. And and just trust it. But they got to start throwing stuff to that you saw. I don't know who scored the second goal just throw it there. And it was it was. I believe. And then and then that's when I was thinking like, all right, Anderson sucked one in finally. Like they were, you know, it's two nothing Carolina. You're like, oh, they get back into it. They tied up on a weak goal. But Anderson's been good. What's surprising to me is that all marks been incredible. I thought if all mark played like this, they had him. Now, the series is far from over. I do want to mention the Hurricanes are now 14 and 0 in their first two home games of any playoff run. So it's like one of the responses was the opposite of the conference finals. But in the first round, their first two home games, they don't lose. So it's like, Otto has got to be prepared for, you know, going down there and having a tough time getting a win. But I think they go home based on how they're playing. I think they're able to get it to two one. Yeah. I mean, I talked to I just talked to my brother after the game. And quickly I go, the thing that you guys got to take away from this game is, first of all, there's some guys on the team that look a little bit tired, look a little bit worn down with some of the physicality, but that's every team. I mean, some of the Ottawa guys look like that too. But at least they know you're for real. You know, like they know you guys should have won that game the way you guys played in the second half. And like Carolina did dominate in that first half of the half of that game. And if it wasn't for all market would have been probably five or six, one after two. But he's been playing amazing. That save you made to keep in the game. I think it was true nothing. And the next thing you know, a few minutes later, and my dad said, remember that save two minutes later, five minutes later, it's two, two. So playoffs are nuts. But as long as you have a hot goalie, like that's the best thing for their team right now is how well he's playing and just got to keep it going. Matthew, game one, obviously, you said you told us you were there. Brady drops the mitts for a shift. Game two. I was our game to I missed. I missed that first. Oh, you missed it. OK. So game one, did he give you a text or anything before that? Like you guys set it up during the nation's mark. No, I had no idea. I was on a boat down to down to Miami with my team for end of the year. Bash and you don't even see the game. Yeah, I didn't even watch. So I'm getting like all these texts like you see what Brady did. Like it was awesome. Like fight was sick. And I'm just like putting myself in not Brady's shoes, but like any other player in the league shoes. Like the way playoffs are that first day, it doesn't matter if you're playing in like if you're playing in the playoffs or not like you're all kind of glued into what's going on, what type of playoffs this is going to be. And I really think that fight set the tone. I mean, the East is an absolute insane display of I don't even know if it's hockey right now. It's like WWE with a little bit of hockey being played on the side. I guess it's crazy. It's a lot more physical and you guys fucking started that trend. Yeah, copycat league. Yeah. Well, I mean, I don't I would I people say that. I don't remember our games being quite like that. I just think we just are you out of your fucking mind. I just think we just had an animal. Sickle. You're a liar. I love it. I'm gonna have to go watch the I'm gonna have to go watch the game. And he's going to win the Lady Bing next year. You're the reason that Tampa Bay got Scotty Saber in their lineup. You basically made that that that that even even even look at like Buffalo, I mean, Montreal, like I've only watched a little bit of of that series because I've been more glued to Buffalo and Boston because what I'm seeing from Buffalo is like the greatest thing in sports right now. But I've barely been watching Tampa and Montreal, but like you got to give both those teams credit like they're playing hard. And Montreal is like staying right there. And like they almost are instigating some of like Josh Anderson. I was saying it on on our pod the other day, like he might be Con Smyth right now, like playoff best playoff player right now. Like he's dominating like he's killing guys. Like I would not want to play against him right now. I'd have my head on a swivel out there against him, but he's and then vintage Tom Wilson. Yeah, he's like kind of like playing like Benny and Wilson, like these guys that go through you could put it in like you just got to watch. And he's like hitting a hurt, too, which is those guys are scary to play against. Like they're not just hitting to add another hit on the statue. Like they're they're trying to do some damage. So yeah, playoffs playoffs are crazy. And all these series, especially in the East, are pretty fun to watch. I mean, it's so it sucks so much like from my perspective, too, because we know what these games feel like. And here we are watching these teams like going absolutely insane and knowing they have a chance to win and just makes you wish that you were in it so bad. It doesn't matter what we've done the last few years. It's what have you done for me lately, league? I want to go back. I want to go back quickly, biz, to the the no goal, the Janikowski no goal. All right. So I have a couple of friends that don't really watch hockey till the playoffs and talk about confusion for people. They're like, all right, hold on. So the goal was called back because it's offside. But then you can get a penalty in a play that basically didn't exist. Considering the play before that was offside. I get it, too. I'm like, as a former player and a guy who covers the NHL, like that just makes no sense to me. I don't. Well, they do. They do it to protect the fact that like, OK, like let's say two minutes goes by, well, one minute into it, the guy suckers a guy in the jaw. What are you knocking? Yeah, he doesn't get the penalty for suckering the jaw because that time didn't exist. I think they should then if to clean that up, make it so like anything like a rough or something physical would be a penalized where maybe like a hook or a trip wouldn't maybe just like a major penalty. Call it a penalty. Everything else had never happened because that is crazy how you can call a penalty shot after like a little stick lift that I don't know it should have been a penalty shot. And then everybody's jacked up on everybody's pissed off in the stands that it's no goal. But then they get a penalty shot, so then it's jacked up again. Half the people are gone. It was bizarre. That was weird. It was a bizarre scene. I just hate the rule where they're like he had possession, but they're saying he didn't have control. So that's the problem. It's so stupid. He clearly did play. And the thing is now, Matthew, you know it better than anyone like. All right. You know how many good players have possession of the puck without the puck on their stick? Like I think a Kutrov how he's like carrying it, but his stick isn't always on the puck. Like I doesn't if you have possession, you have control. Like in the NHL, you got possession, you got control. You can't tell me, oh, yeah, possession. You didn't have control. That is where I think fans are like, what? What? It was dumb. What is go rewrite the rule? Like even though you can put in Kutrov's feet, he's still got possession. But like if you even if you like stab at a puck or poke check a puck, like that's possession. You're intentionally doing that. It hits your stick. You're not just you're not blocking a shot, you know, like it's. I mean, but even if you if you block a shot, it hits your stick, you don't have possession. You still get an assist if it goes to somebody for a goal. So it is it is weird. I feel like if it just touches your stick, it should I don't know. That's that's a tricky one because. Yeah, I mean, they got to figure that out because that that can't happen again. What happened there can't happen. And they got to figure out the whistle after and everything. It's just it's confusing and I don't really understand it. I want to go back to I you talked about it earlier about how crazy Carolina that building is and the fans and like surviving the first 10 minutes. When me and Yann's played with with Arizona, it felt like every time we went to San Jose during the Joe Thornton Marlowe. Like the first 10 minutes, it was like, oh, fuck, boys, just hang on. Too many men. Oh, I'm about to bust. But and you were also talking about it on your podcast, how fans and like they can dictate momentum and how you played in a series against Colorado, where you say what early in your career, where you felt that for really the first time early, just kind of maybe describe and go through like the emotions and what can be done on the road with fans getting crazy and how can it can affect you as a road team? Well, I give credit to our fans here in Florida as well, because. You know, we could have we could have Barkie winding up the puck in the D zone and they're getting to their feet. They know something potentially is going to happen. So they're loud. Like same thing with Carolina. And I go back to Colorado earlier in my career. And each time there was change of possession, they were transitioning. Like they were coming in ways like just wave after line after line. And they were going so insane. Like you couldn't even think you couldn't hear the coach calling the name for the next line. You couldn't like hear the guy coming off. You couldn't make a little play because you couldn't hear your your die there calling for it. So fan noise and energy. Whether they know it or not, plays an enormous part in playoff hockey. Absolutely huge for even. I mean, I know this this sounds a little bit crazy, but like even in a scrum, it always works the momentum of the home team. So you look at that like scrum yesterday in the Pittsburgh Philly game. I'm sure you guys have like talked about, all right, that was nuts. But like that only works towards the home team's momentum. That's the only thing it does. Like it really does nothing, nothing to in a way to in a sense. So like a way team could be, you know, now boys, it's us against the world, but you got to have dogs that have that mindset. So it's it's tough. I mean, you got to be careful to get sucked in the certain things. Then again, that's going against like when I was talking about with Brady against Stahl, because I think for both teams there, like you're just showing both your teams like, let's fucking go. This is a war like boys strap up. This is going to be the toughest atmosphere we're ever going to play. I'm like, we're ready to fire away at us. So I look at it both ways, like, you know, can work in that situation. But then in that last night, I mean, Pittsburgh or sorry, Philly dominated the rest of the night and because their fans just saw something that they needed to rally behind, they got behind it so so much that they were so loud, so passionate and they take over the game. So they they had a huge part. They definitely played an enormous part. I mean, I think about when we played in we couldn't play offs. Man, what was it? Two years ago or or last year when we were playing against the the Rangers, I felt like we were a better team than the Rangers. And when we were playing in New York, like those were some hard, hard games. Like they they were they were loud and it was it was hard to think out there. So I remember that was definitely one atmosphere that that was really good. I can remember your band, Florida. That's just a nice reminder to Rangers fans listening how they were conference finals two years ago and they have a sniff the play offsets. But not what I meant, but. Hey, talk about I know how talk about we're talking about dogs. And you know, as well as anyone, Brandon Hagel, buddy, you go back to February twenty twenty five in Montreal, the fight you guys had what he's kind of done since being in Tampa, I mean, 90 point guy, he fights and what he did against Slavkovsky and the reaction from the crowd, the Gordy how hat trick. Like that gets a player, huh? Yeah, that him and Slavkovsky are probably the two best players along with Anderson in that series, right? Ellen, you look at like production and just like being hard to play against and physical, like, you know, the playoff hockey were being both being able to produce ambient physical. So I love seeing like fights like that when two guys like don't care. Like somebody said it during the broadcast last night, maybe this were you. Were you and yeah, you were on it last night. Maybe it was you. Yeah. Where it's like at the end of the day, like these scrums are bullshit. Like, why don't you just fight like enough with this stuff? I said, yeah, I said, like after the first, yeah, I got everybody going, but like I would be happy if I never saw one the rest of the game. Like let's play good high flying pace action. And I was happy when Hagel and Slath went because it's like that goal. Yeah, that's my point right there. It's like at the end of the day, like these two guys, I mean, Hagel fights more than Slavkovsky, but like Slavkovsky is a big guy. Like, and, you know, handles. I mean, he's a huge man. Like that's strong and like, obviously he's going to have to do that once in a while. So I thought it was awesome that that fight. I actually wasn't even watching the game at the time, because I was watching the boys at Buffalo and the ruler blade guys, but it's awesome. I think playoff hockey is the best. You think about a couple of years ago, Stan Kos and Matthews fighting. They both had like 60 goals or 50 goals. Like it's the best. I remember one of the highlights of my my playoff experience so far here in Florida is just the atmosphere when I fought Pastrack that game. Like that was one of like the coolest moments like from I mean, just from Mayan being at home and having the home crowd rally behind that and then play against boss. And so those those stuff those stuff add up in series. I thought it was great from both of them to really answer your question. And two great players that are definitely dragging their teams in the flight. And the series is pretty legit right now. So maybe I have to start tuning a little bit more in Hagel. Hagel, like it's just a it's a good hockey IQ thing to fight him because Slap has the hat trick in the first game wins it for them in overtime. And then after he I mean, he kind of knocked them out and Slap was not very good after that fight. He fucking turned it over to him on that tying goal. Yeah. So it was a it was a very heads up play by by Hagel and Hagel, too, knows I'm not like this crazy tough guy. I'm one of our best players. He's he can't not say yes to me in this fight. I thought it was a really smart play by Hagel. I've been at the end of the day, like those two guys and those two teams, like I don't think, like I said, people give Montreux all the credit for maybe because they're a little bit younger and maybe just not as much playoff experience, but there's some dogs over there. They they've given us a little bit of a hard time the last couple of years. Like they're they're legit. Don't don't sleep on those guys for just for being skill guys. Like they got I mean, look at Anderson and leading the way. They've got some they've got some boys that can play hard. Their defense is really, really underrated, I think. So yeah, it's it's awesome. It's great for hockey. That that's just the best. I'm since you brought it up the blade gang. How many times did you watch that original video? He's in it. I've watched it. He's in the blade game. I've watched it 1000 times to the point where I was like daydreaming about getting rollerblades and hopefully winning another Stanley Cup and taking the cup with the blades from my house down the elbow room. Like that's how sick my brain is. But the best video I saw was the guy's rollerblading last game from the house. Yeah. So like, oh, is it there's not many houses close down in town? Like I was trying to think about my where could they be that's like close enough. Like we're somebody. Imagine them rolling back at a car on the highway. Hey, somebody said, imagine them rolling blade and home in the dark after the lawsuit. I knew it. But I will say this is this playoff series is starting to become like a battle of the fans. I think more than what's going on on ice. I think the Bruins fans got to recognize that what's going on in Buffalo is like all time right now. Like we're talking an all time legendary fan base and the stuff they've been pulling. So I got to see what the Bruins fans have in store. I'll be glued to Twitter tonight with what would if you if you had creative control on how to rebuttal that, what would you do? I mean, they put fucking a Cam Neely jersey on a UFC dummy and they've they've been abusing this thing for four days now. Yeah, I think that and this is, you know, me being like a new blade gang or whatever you're calling them, like super fan. But I think what I think what they got to do in Boston is either all show up, like have hundreds of people show up on on rollerblades and do the same. Wow. I think skateboard or you do one of those dummies that they're doing with the Neely's, you're as you put that thing on rollerblades and just beat the shit out of it and send the message like we're we're doing this here. So it's up with dynamite. Maybe, but they got they got a it's a battle between the fan base right now. And I'm all for it. I think it's hilarious. Yeah, what a Bruins fans going to do to to step it up here. I think that's what I'm waiting to see. I think they should get Cam Neely out there fucking dummy and a couple Sabres dummies. I mean, tying his rollerblades right now. I was just about to say they should they should they should hire a just like put one of their buddies in a Sabres jersey on rollerblades and have an R.A. Does drugs. He's basically on rollerblades. So they might. They could do that. I was going to say if R.A. had a spine, he would kidnap kidnap the blade gang and they'd fucking Celtic pride style Celtic pride style, bring them to outside of what is like the garden and just beat the fucking wheels off of Cam Neely. Should Cam Neely should wait outside of the arena and be like, who wants a fucking piece? I'll tell you what we're not going to do. And we're not going to have our quarterback go up there and chug a half full beer and then spike it and fucking you know, it's just a momentum of the game. Like Josh Allen, dumb. This was all over this biz. I was surprised. You were giving it to Josh Allen on buddy. He went, he went to a homecoming game to get his jersey retired at his old university and they got worked, worked by a team that had one win. And then all of a sudden no Mahomes, no Kansas City chiefs. It's his chance to win a Super Bowl. Four hundred. Put this smut on Josh, dude. Buddy, he fucking you set the tone by. Jans, what happened when you banged the drum with biz idiot on there? What happened? Turned the series around. No shit. That's what I'm saying. Jans, how about what was the one year that when we had guys banging the drum here and we were like, oh, for seven when like people affiliated with the Dolphins were doing it, but anybody else, we were undefeated. That's when I had to come in there to it. And then the next game I was like, give me the drum. Yeah. And then I think somebody came in for, I don't know who he had for game five. I think it was Bobby Lou. Bobby Lou came in for seven and it was just the best thing ever. And then we like, we normally they kind of, we kind of know in the morning, like who's coming if it's somebody big. And it was before game six last year and somebody saw Lou and like gave like the old like, are you doing it again? Like kind of joking around. I don't know if this is true or not. So don't like necessarily quote me, but he just gave like the like the like the little head nod, wink or whatever. And I'm the closer. That's when you knew we were going to win. Yeah. Mariano warming up in the back. Should have kidnapped Lou. Breaking break. Not I shouldn't say breaking news, but on Twitter right now, and I can ask you about this, Matthew is Alex Lyon in the starters net. Leo the lion. So Lindy Ruff had made a couple of comments where it was, you know, it was open to interpretation that he could be starting. This guy carried you into the playoffs one year. It seems like he does that and then doesn't play in the playoffs. I know when Bob came in everything switched a few years ago, but what do you know about him and how good of a guy is he to take over the net for Buffalo? He is an absolute gamer. 100% gamer, unreal guy. The only thing that I don't necessarily love about some teams and playoff hockey though, is you kind of have like a one A one B. Like, I don't know if that works in playoffs. Like you got to have a dog that kind of runs. So hopefully like Lyon to be that guy that like just runs and takes it over from now. But like he is we are not two time. I know you guys might think this is crazy, but we do not win the last two Stanley Cups. We do not go to the finals the year before without him. He was kind of the guy that like got it going and then Bob came back in that first round against Boston. But his numbers like you guys will have to look this up after I'm done. But like his numbers in the last eight or 10 games to get us in the playoffs were so fucking unreal that it like earned him this contract with Detroit and then Buffalo. Like he was so good in like the smallest sample size, but it was everything about him to his like we're playing Lyon King. He's having us play Lyon King music for our win song after like little shit that he was just rallying around him. He's like chirping players on the other team and like a pretty animated goalie. But I'm sure I don't know if you guys remember like him walking into the rink for that games one and two against the Bruins that year. And he's staring at the camera all the way. You know, like the camera is there. Right. Well, after him, like he's eyeing it down and he's our fucking starting goalie that night. So nothing rattles him. I think he's actually like the the the lights are not too bright for him at all. Like he loves it. He lives for these types of games. And his numbers are six one in one with a nine four four. GAA who's who called them the X factor in the in the pre like the preseason previews. Did you? Yeah, OK, I fucking did. And Yans laughed at me. He's like, yeah, do not. I could tell the way you worded that one. Yeah. But you know what? In that series, Boston, what a response. Swamin is so dialed in right now. What I'm getting a kick out of is Lindy Ruff, who brought up Marco Sturm's comments again after losing. He goes, yeah, well, you heard Sturm say they're bigger and more physical. So yeah, for sure. I'm a little worried like he this they just lost the game. He's still talking about it. But I think Boston did, man. They they kind of took control physically in that game, too. I can't wait to hear R.A. Stott's. But it was like, wow, Buffalo with the magical comeback and Boston. They were ready to go game, too. And they know right now. Swamin is as dialed as he's ever been. Swamin calling the time opus was amazing. He's like, hey, motherfucker, motherfucker. We've been through this. Yeah. Grab a sniffer. Yeah. And I don't I don't necessarily think like play against Buffalo this year. Like there's some big boys on that team. Like they're not they're not necessarily like the most physical team, but either is Boston. Like they're not like killers back there. Like they've got some big D as well. But like Buffalo, they're they're they're big. The D of long sticks. It's hard to get to the net. Oh, man, I remember a couple of power plays against him this year. I'm like, holy shit, I can't even get the puck down low against these guys. Everything's deflected. It's cleared. That's Sam Nielsen's hell of a player. Yeah, he's really, really good. But I guess Boston's got some guys like there's a door of that will hit you. I mean, their fourth line will run around a little bit. Mack will catch you. But it's not. I don't know if you ever really want to give Bolton board material. Like that at the beginning of a series, I think this I think just be killers and be silent killers. If it went to seven and you have the opportunity for Josh, I want to bang the drum. Matthew, are you letting them bang the drum? Yeah, for sure. Like those guys, they get the crowd going like if more than anybody in it's all about momentum, like I said earlier, like you get the guy and you get the biggest dog in the city to get that place shaken. I don't believe in like puppy. I don't believe in what's like a superstition like that. If he's on like, yeah, yeah, you lose even though I promise there's no one in Buffalo who's ever won a thing to come back and bang the frigging drum. Yeah. Unless the guy who invented the Buffalo wing comes out, like everyone else is just taken out. Yeah, they should have a real Buffalo. No, they should get that rapper who's from there. They have a really good driver. No, no, no, they got a rapper who's pretty good from there. Like he's like, don't fucking look at me like that. You should know this. There's no rapper. Benny the butcher. Benny the butcher. He's fucking nasty. What's your mouth? He's more of a producer, no? I think you get what about like a former, former saber like you'd have like Rob. Right. Get a Buffalo bandit. Get John DeVaris. Brad May would be good. What about Tavares, the old school Buffalo bandit? They've won a bunch of championships. All right, Matthew, let me ask you this. Buffalo's power play going back to the regular season is over their last 31. I'm sure you've been a part of teams that you just go through these slumps. Like how hard is it to not kind of get snappy at each other on the bench? And like, you know, every if they get one tonight and they don't score on that one, it's like it just keeps growing and growing. Like you ever remember a time where it's been a tough slump and you're trying to just figure it out as a group? Yeah, for sure. There's always there's always stuff throughout the year where that happens. Or if like, you know, sometimes you feel like if you take a penalty, it's going to go in your net. Like you always go through both go through those. But I mean, if I'm in their situation, I'd stack the first unit. I'd play them for two minutes the whole time. Because when you're when you have like these split units and your both units are struggling, all it takes is one clear and you're like, oh, I got to get off like that. Another way stack one, you know, put your best players on one. And let them ride the whole time. That's how you're going to get out of it. And that's how the top players when you get out of it and you start scoring the power play, you get confidence in five and five and then they can put up seven or eight on the Bruins. Like that's just that's what I would do. But that's why I'm not a coach. But how important is it to have a good power play going in to in playoffs? Because like right now, watching Colorado, they don't scare me as much as other teams because they can't score on the power play. Yeah, power play is huge, but the number one thing that's most important in playoffs is penalty kill. If you have a good penalty kill, it goes back to defense one's championships. But I look back at our team the last two years and nobody talks about our series against Tampa. Like, you know, the last two years because it was one of his first round and they were both in five. But that's the biggest reason it was because of our penalty kill. And obviously they've got a lot of the best power plays in the league for the last however many years. But our our P.K. was dynamite and and very, very, very solid throughout the rest of the playoffs, especially in that round. So that's number one thing that gets that needs to get hot if you want to have a chance and then physicality. And one thing I was actually talking about, too, with who I don't forget, I was talking about it yet the other day, but one big thing that nobody talked about that I think fans would really enjoy to hear. And they might think I'm fucked up for this. But like when guys are injured or banged up, like a look at some of these guys around the league that are just coming back or might come back or missing a game that's you like. Players target them not to hurt them, but you are so physical and like, you know what injury these guys have had. And you know, if they're playing 100 percent, you know, if they're not. And I know I know guys like when I played against Vega, I learned this from Vegas because when I hurt my sternum against them, the next two games or whatever I played, I was getting punched in the chest, hit on the shoulder, cross check every single face off in the middle of the shift, the end of the shift, scrum everything. So I'm like, damn, these guys are motherfuckers. Like they know I'm banged up and they keep coming. They want me like they want me left in a body bag. So I think you're starting to see some of these teams like with some of these guys come back. I know some guys in Tampa are probably coming back soon. I know a couple of guys in Ottawa are coming back soon. Like for fans out there, I wouldn't be surprised. Like if you're starting to see this, because that's how players think. And that to me is a huge, huge part in having success in playoffs is knowing how healthy the other is, staying healthy for your team and going after these guys. I tell the story all the time. Tom Wilson, when we played them in playoffs, there was a scrum in front of the net and he skated out to the blue line to come grab me and just kept punching. I had a separated shoulder. You just kept punching me in the shoulder. He's like, is it this one? Is it this one? And then he grabbed my other shoulder. He's like, is it that one? And I'm like, yeah. Yeah. Like last year, last year we were playing Tampa and for Heggy hit, Surinak first period. I think Sarelli got tangled up on a faceoff in the first period. And, you know, we're in there after the period, like trying to talk amongst each other. It's like, which way did they fall? Like, you know, this, this and that. And we know that they're doing it to me because after every single whistle or every faceoff, they're pushing my leg or grab my leg because of my adductor stuff. So it's a whole game within the game ship. That's what makes playoffs like the best and it's what makes the cup the hardest to win in sports because is sometimes could be the longest, most gruesome two months ever. Every guys at doctor biz, they got looking at X-rays and playing periods. Yeah. Oper, playing operation. Oh, I was using chat GPT when McDavid had left the game yesterday. I'm like falling inside. What tendon is that? Yeah, what's that web MD? But what's crazy is you saying that, Matthew? And the fact that there's cameras around now. Remember back in the day when there's no camera. Guys, we're just got less. Just like trying to step on each other. It's not that crazy, but it's definitely like as as players or I'll have I'll have and then I'll have players text me last year if we're playing I guess Brady Brady would be the first one and then who did Carolina play second? I'll be washed in. Well, we'd have players Texas on the teams that these teams would just be and be like, Hey, so and so like his he can't skate is his his left me is so banged up or this guy can't take a hit on his right shoulder. So I think that's the biggest part I've learned with playoffs is like it goes so deep with research and pre scouts and a lot of its injury related. But Florida didn't play nasty guys. They didn't do anything. They were just like every team wings. They were just snapping it around. That's every team. I mean, we learned that from Vegas the year before. Like they were so ruthless and bigger and nastier. And it was it was you learn lessons and playoffs throughout. And that was that was me. I remember playing the Ducks my rookie year. Holy shit. I wasn't even injured. I felt like I had every part of my body injured the way they're staying. They were coming after me and everything. I'm like, this is this is the man's game. Okay, this is different. You know, a final scene of Braveheart when the guy like takes the takes all the tools out, like he's about to fucking cut his gut open and stuff like that. That's pretty much what it's like. You were just talking about all these injuries. I think a pretty cool component though is I met a bunch of the Panthers with you. Yans at that. It was a J bar. What's the bar you guys always go to by your house? The one that you could play the day they let you play the music whenever you want. Every bar ever. No, oh, we went there with with F L's. F L's. Oh, great spot. And like your, your guys like ART massage therapist guy was there and how important it is to have like a really good one who can help fix you up quick because you guys are all dealing with these nagging things. Like he was, he was doing like every team in the Olympics. I heard. Yeah, I guess he's just a wizard. So like how important is to have a guy like that around? And I heard that the one that you guys have is like the best guy in the league. Yeah, he's unreal. Our whole staff is unreal here. Like they really, really are. And I think you don't, you don't play this many games the last few years and go on that many deep runs and. And I mean, this year was such a weird year with injuries, not like any injuries like that related. It was all like broken bones and shit weird. But like for those guys that keep us healthy through 100 plus games every year, like they deserve all the credit in the world. Like they're working way harder than we are just to keep us on the ice. So I think teams got a really, really, that's probably the way the league is going to go. I think the next step is like really, really taking that up a notch with having whether it's more people around or, you know, more shit on the road. We travel with like blow up cold tubs that they just put in the pool area. It's like little stuff like that. Like we stay over a lot. Like we do all this stuff that's really changed from like my first couple of years in the league to like, I don't know if it's sport science related or just recovery. I think it's put under the recovery umbrella, but that has become the biggest part. This game is so fast and physical. Like you can't just tip toe your way through the year and expect to be playing at your best come June. So those guys like Timmy and the whole staff, like you got to give them a shout out because they're truly the glue. They're the glue to our organization and allowing us to do what we've done and hopefully continue what we want to do. Is I think he, I think Vinnie Viola found Timmy. He was getting like PT. I guess his back was all messed up. He was getting PT and like Virginia or something like that. And it was Timmy's place and he was like, this guy saved me. And then when he bought the team, he brought him with him. So just like smart move by, by bringing him. Yeah. They were raving about him when I was, I met him at that bar and I was, I just, it just came to my mind when you talked about all these injuries and how important it is to have a huge, like a big staff that can basically treat you guys like the Ferraris that you are. Well, and injuries makes me, I forgot Dickinson couldn't play game two for Edmonton, two goals in the first game. He'd been coming back from injury. And then he was like kind of wounded in that game yet to need that guy back kind of an enormous third line center for us. But I stayed up for that game last night to like that team's never out of it. Never. Crazy. That series is probably the one I look at, like all the playoffs as a whole right now. That one is a little bit different. And the Philly Pittsburgh ones just like a little bit different. All the rest of them are pretty much nuts. Yeah. It's Edmonton Oilers playoff hockey. It's just straight up crack. It's bizarre. They're never out of it. When you think they're going to win, they lose. You think they're going to lose. They win. And it's just what we become accustomed to. But Matthew, we appreciate it, buddy. And once again, congrats, man. New dad. You sleeping at all? Very, very. Actually, I'm sitting great still. It's been fun. Best thing ever. Yeah. Got to got to try to win it next year so that she could sit in the Stanley Cup. Like all these kids get to do after they win. So that's that'll be the goal we actually just did. Or like first, I mean, we're talking like a week old here right now, but we just did like our baby picture. I don't even know what they're called. Everybody does it, I guess. I never heard of it, but yes, everybody does it. And she has this kind of gift from one of some being her family, like the pole USA Olympic deer, but for kids, hilarious. So she brought it today to wear and I sneakily brought in gold metal too. So they got a little one on one. Oh, that's cool. Nice. That's that's what it's all about. She was Milly was in Milan, but just in the belly. The womb. Yeah. Make sure you get some rest tonight because we got a big match tomorrow. Hey, bring it. You better bring it. What's happening? What do you mean? Rose versus Joe's. Yeah. Well, we're doing the pros slash podcasters versus a couple of our buddies down here in Florida. So it'll it'll be fun. We're playing it off. Golf. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We're course. We're playing audio small tomorrow morning. So we'll get a break down that one. Yeah. I think I got a sandbag or with these guys too, but at some point when at some point, we got to get it. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, we got we got to get it. Fuck. Would it be your dad being the third? Yeah, for sure. OK. Oh, I mean, I'm worried about these guys drinking and trying to keep up to your old man. Oh, the last question I was going to ask, will you go to Ottawa for any games? I told them that I would go up if they make a pass a series, but I'm still I might be might be doing. I got to figure out the rest of my month of May. Michael represent the boys in red, white and blue. OK. At the end of the month, might still still not officially like still undecided with everything. But my body feels amazing. I only played 30 games this year and I just want to win something. So I saw he's going over there. You know, he didn't get he didn't get to play one. So it makes sense. But that tournament hasn't even started yet. No, no, it's like late May or something. But join that triple gold crown. Crowd. What would I call it? That's one of the goals right there. I got the two amazing. Oh, it'd be cool to get that one. But I just got to see how everything is with with the body and new dad and all the shit. You guys, you guys know. Do you live in Vale for part of your summer? I bought a place out in Colorado near there in Avon. So I'm spending like close to a month there later in the summer. The closer it was. That's your go get away like restore and become one with the earth again type place. Yeah, I bought it three years ago. I've been to it zero times. So oh, nice. Great. I kind of like my place in Jackson. Yeah, but I'm actually going to this year with being healthy and everything. So I don't know if I'm escape that much out there because I don't like skating at all. Like not at all. I like skating very little in the summer and just ramping it up like right when I come to Florida like a few weeks or a month before max before the season starts. So yeah, it'll be good. Good to get good to spend some time there. Good to be a new dad to spend time at home. But it sucks not being play especially with these games. Like I said, they're so fun. So we'll have to do this again maybe next round or round after. For sure. Yeah, we appreciate it, but we'll talk to you soon. See you boys. Thanks, Matthew. See you. See you. We did forget to bring up that just kind of the dock play biz quickly in that Tampa. Yeah. Much of all, first of all, we got to talk about that game like unreal, man. Hegel Hegel is is one of the best contract values in the NHL. Yeah, what's he make seven million? Maybe just under. I don't even think it's that. I think he makes like six and change maybe five eight then. He's six point five. A.V. Oh my God. That's like 2032 boys. Oh no. But the biggest thing for me, Tampa had lost four straight playoff home playoff games. They'd lost 10 of 11. Kutrow have hadn't scored forever. He ties it up. They end up getting the winner in overtime. Awesome play by JJ Moser. It was just so crazy that doc, just a couple more steps. He's got the red line. He throws it in early icing and then not only does like he iced the puck, but Moser walks around him and Saint Louis just look furious. He brought it. He brought up the play after you got to think Brendan Gallagher and kind of what he's been able to do in the playoffs. I don't know that game isn't till tomorrow. So I'm guessing there's no lineup. This isn't made, but I don't I don't know if he stays in the lineup after. It wasn't just one play. It was two plays that kind of lose the game for Montreal and just a tough loss for them. They had that game in control. I was sitting here watching it with a buddy and after he ice it, I'm like, they're going to score. They pan to Saint Louis on the bench and he was like this chewing his gum. Yeah, just like looking up on my. Oh, shit. He knows they're going to score. And then to go out and give the sweep check, like you, if you do ice that, you got to do whatever it's not like it's Kail McCart's JJ Moser out there. Like you got to go out, get in the body lane. Like you better angle almost. He just, well, I saw another angle of Couch and Couch, Couch interfered with him a little bit. Yes. He did. Oh yeah. Yeah. He fucking Couch is 10 miles ahead being like, oh yeah. And he put the body and then kind of took his stick away. And then it's like a panic situation for doc to get out, but he's, he wasn't in a, in a bad spot. He put himself in a bad spot. You don't need to like attack out like that. And I felt, I felt terrible, terrible for him, but that's the thing, man. The lack of oxygen going to your brain, the panic, the crowds on top you. And now all of a sudden you're, they're turning the lines over and you're playing against the top line when you're Kirby doc. I mean, I, I would have shut down my social media too. Yeah. Did he deleted the Instagram? That's soft. Yeah. It's brutal. Fucking brutal. And one, you know, and St. Louis mentioned him as well. So then it's even more kind of like, oh, coach is talking about him. I can tell him to fucking jump off a bridge. Like, no, it's insane, but that's ridiculous. What people do, the fucking messages they'll send. So that's, but listen, like these guys want to win more than the fans want to win, trust me. And he feels worse than anybody on planet earth, maybe as an organization or as a human being, give the guys some fucking praise. Maybe pump his tires a little bit. So he, if he does get back in the lineup, he plays, but like when people go after people, I do DM guys, that's, you're a fucking idiot. You got problems. You got problems. You got problems. I'm interested to see Friday night, like Caulfield. And they were DM and his fucking girlfriend or fiance or wife. I don't need, she had to fucking take her social media down. Come on. Hey, if you're listening to this and you're DM and players, your favorite team got scored on and it's that guy's fault. You're a fucking clown. You had to touch some grass there. But yeah, you could, hey, you could bitch about it and fuck a talk a bunch of your, your sports buddies and talk about the game. Like, but to go after them like directly, like, like the sad message, it's fucking brutal. So see if Caulfield can get a little bit more. I think Hudson's been phenomenal. Dolbys has been good. That series is great so far. Like that I'm actually happy. There's two days in between the game Friday night, Bell center will be unreal. Be rocking. And I did get a kip coop after the game. He's like, somebody's got to be the villain. I guess we're okay with it. Like, I don't know. Do you, do you think he means that like he thinks more people are rooting for Montreal? Uh, I think people are sick of when teams have long reigns and Tampa is one of those teams. I don't think it helps the case that, that Hagel's going too small to the bench, too small, too small. And then doing the, the Aaron Ashham sleeper in the penalty box. I mean, fucking rights, man. Entertainment. Hagel's bringing it, buddy. This is, yes, I think that, I think that more people would rather see. Montreal win the Tampa. I personally, I don't care. I don't care who advances from that series, but Hagel is definitely making me want to root for Tampa because I want to see more Hagel if that's what he's bringing. But then again, you have a serial killer and Josh Anderson on the other side, too. Well, according to wild fans, you and the rest of the guys at TNT, you just want Dallas to win. This tweet made me laugh out loud. I think Jamie Ben could pull out a gun at center ice and the TNT panel would start talking about Stan, your ground laws. Defend him. We're in Dallas. Yeah. I just, I just, I've really, really like, I've done a 180 on wild fans and the fact that they wanted to delay a game penalty when the guy was over center nice and he, and he put it over the glass. I know. I just, I'm, I'm, I'm in shock. We've been going a while. Let's get to RA. They're children. They're bringing RA. Little RA. You know, you know, you know where we need to send them? The Leering Center. Hello. Hello. Everybody, welcome to our RA's world here on the Spit and Chicklitz podcast. Boys, we got a big one across the damn tonight. Game three, the Bruins. I have all fired up. Best home record. No one had more home wins than in this year. 29, 11 and one place is going to be rocking. Cannot friggin wait. Huge win the other night. Team responded like I hoped and thought they would hide one one coming home. Love it. What's up? Is are you going to be there? As of now, no, not as of right now. I didn't even bother with the with the request after, you know, the last email and, you know, I talked about in the pod and if someone were to hit me up and say, hey, are you going to take it? Absolutely. But right now I'm probably going to lock in by myself here in my pad because I find I pay the most attention and lock in even watching like family, you know, people are chatting and get distracted. But as of now, I'll be here. If something changes, I'll be across the street, but I'm fired up then. Let's go. Rare fucking go is right, buddy. I think it's a prediction. Like I mean, dude, I think the bees are going to win. Swamin locked in like, you know, like I said, nobody had nobody had more home wins than them this year. Carolina had the same amount. I can't I can't lose in the whole league. Really? Yeah. Yeah, they had won 29 games at home. Carolina had the same amount. Nobody had more than them. So yeah, I'm jacked up. The team we saw game two was more like the team we saw all season. Hell of a bounce back. Abbot's in two goals. Zaka one goal. Mitz, middle standard to assist that line bounce back. Swamin, what can we say about a nine three one safe percentage? I don't know if he listened to the plot or read the blog, but at that time out, you guys mentioned earlier, I guess Sturm was was going to do the same on the bench, but a good awareness for him to recognize, you know, Buffalo was starting to get that momentum there. I mean, if they ever had a disastrous collapse again, man, this this time would have been burned down by so funny. Did Sturm say after like, yeah, I was going to do it. I had that. Don't worry. I had that one. I had a cover. I was going to change the laundry, babe. Hey, all right. All right. I we we haven't talked call auto LA, which is just I mean, and we haven't talked Utah, Vegas. One thing I want to bring up for Utah, Vegas. Yeah. Two unreal moves by Ryan Smith. First being, did you notice he tweeted out and said, for anyone that was a Vegas Golden Knights fan before we came and has a jersey, come on in exchange, it will give you a free mammoth jersey. Unreal move. Maybe some people in Utah just hopped on Vegas being somewhat close by. And then the other one was, I think he's looking to give eight sweet tickets out. I think the Delta Center is going to be insane tonight. And Utah gets an enormous game to win. What do you got on that series so far? There's Malcolm Malcolm. Unreal game the other night, 19 saves, 21 shots. Dude, this team, I think people are sleeping on on them like other teams just because your second year in Utah, they were the former coyotes, former jet didn't have a lot of success. But I mean, it was a coolie Gunther and what's the off color? Kella, those guys are just rolling dervishes out there. Serga Chessman playing Unreal like both sides of the ice. I would be surprised. Well, I did pick what's his name? Vegas and seven based on the way Cotta Hoffman playing. But I don't know, Utah has been impressive thus far. You know, they've stolen home ice advantage. So a great series. Again, I think people might be sleeping on those kind of a little well, statistical anomaly. You know, hot had 27 saves on 29 shots that night. But he gave up three goals because, you know, it's not a shot. You know, what's the name? Anderson kicked it in the puck by axiom kicked it in the net by accident. So it was an old goal because I was double checking stats. I was like, wait a minute, how do you have, you know, 27 saves on 29 shots? But, you know, it's not it's not a shot against when your own guy kicks it in that. So just a little nerd stat that jumped out at me. But yeah, boys, I object up. What do you got for me, Biz? I was just going to say Dylan Gunther, his release. Holy shit. That fucking goal that Yamamoto slid over to him. That is. Easy money sniper right there. Is was it you saying that when you did the gross grind with Badard, he was talking about Gunther shot then he was pumping his tires. Yanz brought I think it was army or murals reminded me that Yanz when we had donor on donor was raving about this kid saying like wait till you see his shot. And he I don't know, man. Like I would say he's top five as far as his release and how effortless it is and how the velocity he gets on it. So that's one thing that stuck out. I thought that him and Logan Cooley Cooley specifically has easily been their best player like he is he's a dog and he got a death threat towards him and then got the winner of the next game. Like he's fucking what, 20 years old. Is he how old is he 20, 21 years old? I thought that Kells and Schmalzzi looked better in game two than they did in game one, but still need more from them. You know, as they get acclimated to like what it's like being in playoffs and they're getting a lot of attention from guys who have already done it and and and dogs in the NHL, especially when it comes to playoff hockey. I think that they skate well. I think that they move. It's a very it's a unique series. Yeah. Right. Like you could tell Vegas is not as fast, but they're more physical and they're trying to wear them down and and and they have the guys that can do that and play, right? Like stone, he's fucking big, strong, barbersheds goal was bar, barbersheds is being barbersheds from when they won at the last time and when he was with St. Louis. So it's I would say like I it would be cool to see Utah win this series. If I got into my head, I still have a hard time believing that Vegas isn't going to find a way to win this series. That's that's that's how I feel about it. But one of those ones where maybe from an entertainment perspective, I didn't have as much expectations, same, but but as it but it but as over delivered. And it was immediately too, because I'm with you. I didn't know what to expect and like it was good from the hop and now it's turned into like a little nastiness and yeah, Vamelco, he is very good. I you kind of mentioned him last year, I believe. And he had an off year last year. I think it was a year before he was very good. And then last year he regressed a little bit, but very athletic. He was good in Arizona, good contract, well liked. And yeah, he's fucking nasty. He's a nasty goalie. I would prefer to watch this series in Colorado, LA. Oh, yeah, 100%. That series, I mean, LA has not scored five on five. I think the numbers five on five are like maybe as tilted as like you've ever seen in a playoff series. Give give LA credit, right? I mean, they go up one nothing game too. It's like, holy shit, they might they might pull this out. Nicholas Roy, however you want to say it, big overtime goal. It just seems like LA is so overmatched. Like, I don't know if you have any thoughts on that series, but it's not five on five. It's not even close. No, tough luck for Ayrton Forsberg. Oh, and two, but he's got a 190 goals against a 941 safe percentage. And is an interesting note, you know, going back to evidence and briefly, they could assign him in the offseason, Dan Vlada or Cardi Ha, three goals that are playing exceptionally well in the playoffs right now, just in, you know, they didn't take a flyer on any of those guys. I mean, the lowest safe percentage of any of those three is kind of hot right now. Wedgewood, Wood, Swit. Yeah, buddy, they could have fucking went out and got 10 goalies in the in the last like 18 months. It's fucking insane, bro. But it's with it's fucking insane. I go back to I go back to the draft when they traded the pick that Minnesota took Walsh that with. That's probably the one that really, really hurts the most, considering how young he is and that right now as he's ready to go, the Oilers are in their most win now moment they've they've ever been in. So yeah, I think people are like, he won't be ready. He's ready. But I don't know how this just turned into Edmonton goal tending segment. I was looking for Ari's thoughts on the Utah because people say it's the most important position to win a Stanley Cup. And and and every other team has seemed to be able to figure out and solve that problem other than at management and Edmonton. Why are we even angry? While we're on the King's congratulations, Trevor Lewis officially announces retirement after a 17 year NHL career to Stanley Cup. So a shout out to him. Biz, I want to talk TNT. What a brilliant night for play by play guys last night. We went from, you know, Kenny Albert to John Foslin to Randy Han, you know, who's normally the shocks announced he can. Oh, hold on. Yeah, great announcer. Unreal. And I think it's is it drew a tremendous guy and they were together. Very, very excited when Anaheim scored goals. Boys, oh, who gives a fuck? Hey, go watch the clip. Edmonton and Anaheim would score. It's like Anaheim, San Jose's got to arrive with it. It was to me, it was very it's the US watching the candidate. They were they were seeming to be rooting for the Anaheim. Buddy, if it was Jack McMichael's calling it, he'd be fucking cream in his fucking jeans. He's the Oilers announcer. These guys are the sharks announcers. What are you talking about? That was the worst analogy I've ever heard. And I believe Randy's from Edmonton, if I'm not mistaken, too. So they probably are down with so Cal went in some hockey games. A producer is telling him like when the American team scores like call it louder. Is that something I don't know? But all right, did you notice that or no? Do you think I didn't? I didn't. I didn't notice it. I noticed it. And then I started seeing tweets about I'm like, all right, I'm not crazy. It was like, oh, fucking Oilers. I love it. With fucking that's the worst analogy I've ever heard. Well, you just compared the Oilers announcer rooting for the Oilers compared to the Sharks are rooting for the Ducks. What are you talking about? Maybe they're maybe they're sick and tired of fucking seeing the fucking Oilers and all the fight. Everything they got going on and playoffs and all their drama, they want to see new blood. He does. That's what's going on. He does have no one sick as he and McDavid. Also, too, obviously, the color guys do a great job. I got a nice DM from Kenny Alba to I tweeted about the play by play guys. So that thanks, OK, Tripp Tracy. And Joe actually does a great read about Jody Shelley, you know, one of the color guys on the hockey red is dog. I saw that really good stuff. His first game was great. He had a minute and thirty three. Yeah. So yeah, one thirty three time of ice, two fights, ten penalty minutes sort of set the tone for his career. I don't talk to any of the production people at TNT, but give him a shout out for the terrific camera work. Yeah, you know, they're the they're the best. Like the play by play, like you said, like everyone they have is just like first class catching the Vladah, losing his blade. But also before the game, this is probably camera nerd stuff. But the drone shot of the Billy Penn statue at the top of Philadelphia City Hall. Just just absolutely beautiful stop there. So kudos to those guys. So all right. Yeah, far away. Any other complaints with? Coach Lindy Ruff. Said Josh Norris is not available for tonight. Oh, fuck. That is a big loss. You've seen the record with him playing and him not to my stomach. That is a kick in the deck. And I feel Buffalo Sabres fans. I feel second. First is Josh Norris, man. This guy's been so good and he's finally been able to be healthy for a while this year. I don't know. That's not good. He's considered day to day, but still not having him game three is a big loss. Yeah, I like it. Because I think the dwarf must hate carnivals because he keeps on going after Zach Benson and he's got about a foot and a half on him. He keeps pummeling him every time he sees him on the ice out there. Not sure if he's a kind of guy, but here's a crazy staff player. Philly defenseman, Noah Joulson. He's got two points, which is the same as MacDavid, McKinnon, McCarr and Crosby combined playoffs. That's an absolutely wild stat. Boys, they just, yeah, Norris out. They just announced his replacement. Josh. Blade gang. Blade gang. Give him a chance. Did it. I know, you tried to do. You guys see the clip of Sid in the box after he got called for the embellishment and there's that one. That was hilarious. It gave him like the. And you can see kind of Sid sort of smirk back at him. And I don't think we could show it here anyways, but that was pretty, pretty. Sure about that. How about that one? That was good. Connor Murphy and Arista Lanin first playoff goals in each the 13th seasons, man. Pretty, pretty wild stuff. That's a long frigging wait to get your first playoff goal. Hagel got the first Gordy Howe Hattrick and Tampa Bay playoff history. But that was pretty good stuff. Wow. Yeah. Interesting stuff. Oh, did you see this video just come out? I see that this morning someone throw while they call that a rotisserie chicken. That's what got thrown on the ice late at the Edmonton Ducks game last day. I figured it probably a duck. I mean, why would you, you know, if you're going to throw. Well, because they go to Costco, it's right there. And it's like, I think you just kind of get the point, right? Yeah. Kind of like I said earlier analogy. Randy Hahn was calling Pepito. I thought of a duck, duck or a orangy or whatever the hell that stuff's called. But and there's others. No, there's the ratings through the roof. I don't know if you follow us. I read on our breeze, Braylon underscore breeze. He does a terrific job. It feels like the NHL, you know, might be a little turn it a bit of a quarter here with the ratings. I mean, there's too many records that they've set to list right now. But I think like, can we kind of like sort of start with the dick measuring contest with NBA ratings? Like it just it's not a contest to catch up to them. I mean, I don't know. The numbers are never going to catch up. I know NBA view ratings are down, but there's still, you know, there's always probably going to be more people actually watching the NBA that will go to the NHL. I don't know. I just feel like people get caught up. But like, you know, I think I think the reason for the compare. I think the reason for the comparison is like you have these like players who seem to kind of not give a fuck. They want to rest. They don't want to. I think that like the the overall emotional investment that they're providing that their sport is is is a correlation to the drop in viewership and how much hockey players care and they put into their craft and the respect that people who want to watch live entertainment are now giving it. Like hockey is a very niche sport and to see that it's it's gaining so much ground on something like the NBA. I think that that's why they're kind of just comparing the two like. Oh, no, they they compare it because you play the same amount of games in the same season. OK. Well. Yeah, OK. I don't I don't know if like you think that's why. Yeah, like they don't do it with baseball because it's in the different seasons and they play way more games. Well, I say it's the same amount of games, way more physical. And they're still able to like up their level in the playoffs. Yeah. But I get what you're saying. All right. I think it's the easiest to compare in a sense of game play. It's just like a continuous thing and, you know, OK. Yeah, two vastly different sports, but a couple of the notes here. The port-a-monte, he's playing like he's been with the Flyers for 10 years. He's just doing things you don't usually see a rookie, you know, this early in his career. I forget what's penguin he had. You know, kind of mush in his face in the ice, like avoiding the penalty, you know, like a little skirmish toward the end. You just, you know, this kid is playing way beyond like his experience level right now. Obviously, I think he's had two game winning goals. He's been a treat to watch so far. Also, we got to give a shout out to Freddie Anderson, two and oh so far. 0.78 goals against 967 say percentage with a shout out. He's been playing great. I know he's, you know, not all what he's had injuries over his career, but for a veteran has been around for a long time. It's been great to see what he's doing. But you give out gambling picks. I think all of a game three is a nice bet. I like it a lot. I haven't seen the big call at the odds on it yet. But I agree. Yeah, you know, Ohmach's been playing terrific. He's another guy who's getting some tough luck, oh and two, but his numbers are fantastic. Yeah, yeah, I'm cool. I'm kind of on the wagon right now. But yeah, I agree with you there. That would be a good play. I'm not even sure what the Bruins line is tonight, but I love with Chuckie Mac and our campus Linton. The other night they both played over 27 minutes. The next two D. Well, under 16 minutes, I mean, Sturm rode them, but whatever. You got to lead. You got to sit on it. I'm glad they did that. Pasta five points in two games. I don't know. I'm feeling like a lot more confident than it was a couple of days ago with this team. I'd be surprised if they lose tonight, but I'm I'm fired up, jacked up. Can't not win this big game. Straight pick them tonight, R.A. Is it really? Straight pick them. Yeah. Well, minus one 10 each. That's that. That's going to tempt me to fall off the wagon. But what else? Oh, great play. I know you guys mentioned the Dutchie with the back check on Boldi. Like, because a lot of people are like, Oh, Boldi, he's going to see that in his sleep. That's going to, it's like, bro, he didn't have like a clean like swipe at it. I mean, you know, Duchain come down and made an incredible play to break the giz up and then the penalties, man, like Jamie, that's a bad penalty to take there. Then people, Quinn Hughes went out ranting and he's like, Oh, he went down. I think once you get hands up like high in a guy's face like that, plus it was just not a smart penalty whether ranting went down easy or not. It was probably going to be a nice in there too. And I, you know, once you get your hands up like that, even in overtime, I don't know. I was with wild fans on that one. Like at that. But then they got, they got one back where Quinn Hughes got the tripping call. Yeah. Like that was why I think that that it made a little bit more sense. They'd already kind of given the wild one. But yeah, I thought it was a little bit of a dive by ranting. But they didn't score on that one. Anyways, it was the year off to lay a game. And is that not the worst way to lose a game is like the puck. Oh, the worst, because I mean, you know, other penalties, it's a physical action where you sometimes you're doing it deliberately or maybe accidental. But that's just such like almost an innocuous penalty. But I don't know. That's a kick on the balls to lose the minute it leaves your stick. Oh, no, no, no. Shotting all over your fucking. You get you guys agree, though, NHL, like you got no one on you. You got to make a play. Like that's yeah, 100%. Yeah, 100%. Let me ask you the geeky goal the other night, you know, fucking center, right? Like pop fly that you PL missed. How much does that deflate a team on the bench, especially when you're down to nothing like how much does that just kill a team like mentally? What does it? Yeah, it definitely is a buzzkill, you know, especially if you're starting to get momentum and then something like that happens. But yeah, it's brutal, but it's a it's a heads up play by geeky. I used to do it. I mean, everyone does it where you just, you know, if you can't eat, if you can't get to the red red line, sometimes you'll shoot it at the net. Try to have it bounce. Remember Lidstrom did it against the Lutia Vancouver. Yeah. So it's like that's it's copycat. Like we said, it's like, but it's one of those things where it could hit them, that could be a rebound that comes out. But I thought it was a great play by geeky to have the awareness to do it. But it definitely definitely is a buzzkill on the bench. It looked like he was in no man's land. Like he didn't come out far enough or like stay back, I guess a little bit deeper. He was like, just right in the middle. I mean, that was yeah, that's deflating. All right. Like the crowd too. The crowd was just like, oh my God, like we kind of have some momentum going here. We just need one to tie it up. And all of a sudden you let in that it it makes sense. I think that that goal is why Lyon's starting. And could Chuck mention the, you know, how much you can feed off of the energy of the crowd and stuff like that. And when something like that deflates a crowd, then you feel it even more on the bench. Like when Alan bangs the drum. Speaking of what like when it does to a goalies confidence as well. But I, I, I, I know, I know y'all had had in the game tonight. I know where you're going to be pre-gamer, but you must be all jacked and pumped as Pete Carroll would say, huh? I'm fired up. I'm I'm so fired up. I'm I'm actually so distracted right now. I did just see a video. Did you guys see that an Edmonton Oilers fan got bitten off in a fight after the game? His ear was bitten off. What is going on right now? There's some weird. Yeah, they were fighting after the game. It's a tense time, buddy. There's a lot of pressure on the Oilers and the fans feel it. Well, that's not what you fucking said in your tweet towards me that. What'd you say? Well, I understand I'm somebody who's able to not be a crazy fan and no, hey, it's one one. It's never easy with the Oilers. There's fans who are like you and they panic and they think it's pathetic and they want to address them losing a home game game to the Oilers have never gone up to nothing in a series with Connor McDavid on the team. So it's like, this is what they do. I'm not panicking. Some fans are there fighting each other at the rink. They're biting. You're blaming the fucking commentators for celebrating too hard. Fuck yeah, I was wait. It was Edmonton on Edmonton crime. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I'll tell you one thing else I should bring up is spec better fucking unblock me if they lose game three. I was an unblock me that like he's got to take some ownership at this point. They need to know the rope the same direction. Oh, there have been a ton of fights in Edmonton to not just last night. Like, I mean, you can't you know, these like beer, drink and like friendly people. But is it just like specific to Alberta? Biz like a long winter, long winter. All right, so fucked up, though, to think about it every time we go there. Like they start drinking so early man, not playoffs in Edmonton. Nah, people don't get fucked up in Edmonton. Mangles. That's an absolute room. Yeah. All right. It's all good. So I think I would say I'm the biggest shock thus far. The first round. No brainer. I mean, the fly is up three nothing. I mean, that's the only series that's basically a runaway right now. Definitely a shock. Yeah. So. Oh, no. Oh, no, wait. No. No. How are you doing this? Hey, this is bullshit, man. I'm fucking helping you is what I'm doing. It was given to me by the team. They won't lose another game. That works out well when teams give you things. I know, Biz, do you have like a hat, a shirt, like something for every team in the league? Because you're like carrot top every time you're in a field. And he's got the King of Ontario hat on with the Oilers Jersey. Should should we talk about the Wuhan Lob post? We kind of glanced over that with with with Matthew. Kyle Ivan. Yeah. All right. You know, the guy in the in the band that just completely mushes the senators every year. Oh, yeah. Yeah. They sent him to Wuhan. The team all expenses paid. I like I wonder is that that I can't imagine that they sent like sent them there. They have to have a story behind this. I can't imagine they just like, oh, we're going to send you to Taiwan. First of all, you think you'd want to be like, you know, in Ottawa, go into the game or whatever. But he loves the sense that much. He knows I've I've fucked up. I think he even said in the video like after last year, I shouldn't have come back and he came back and he doubled down. It's almost like, you know, it's Taiwan. I want it. I'm taking I'm taking part of the blame for this, right? Like I understand what I did wrong and I'm going to go over far east. Are we able to play the bat? Could we play the video that he made? Like the second one out of the barn? Hello, Sons fans. Kyle Ivan here. As you can see, I am in Asia. This is not AI. I'm actually here. I've been sent here by the Ottawa Senators Organization because they wanted me as far away from the Canadian Tire Center as possible before game three tonight. As most of you know, by now I've become a bit of an internet celebrity over the past week and not in a good way. A video that was intended to share my joy and passion for our team has instead backfired and unleashed a firestorm of negativity, turning me into the biggest Sons villain since Chris Kunitz. Many of you have blamed me for the goalposts, the crease clears and the overall bad luck we have faced in the first two games. Crease clears. What the fuck? On further reflection. I think you're right. I realize now what I've done is wrong. It was wrong of me to put out another music video. It was wrong to film in front of the CTC without the team's blessing. And it was wrong of me to unleash this string of bad luck on our favorite team. Because of this, I will be watching the rest of the series from Taiwan, a punishment that is harsh, but fair. I'm hoping this will help change the outcome of the rest of the series for the sense. So from the other side of the world, I really thought at the end, a motorcycle was just going to run him over. I thought they were going to behead him. We're never hearing from him again because he wore the jersey. Why is he bringing the jersey? That's hot take. I think that he was going there anyway, and they they're spinning this. That's why they're going to get swept. I think the Sons wanted that bad that they he he like got fired, too. Like he left his job and they sent them. And it was it wasn't a first class ticket. It was the last row middle seat on a 20 hour flight to China. She's probably a good point, too. If it like he's like, oh, it's not AI, but it's like, well, what if it's a green screen because a green screen is not AI? If it turns out it's a green screen, they're getting swept. And they're not making the playoffs next year. Was that the same motorcycle coming by on like a loop? We need to do some digging here because that may make senators fans even more furious. If they should have to play all their home games in Belleville next year, if that's a fucking green screen. They basically do. Hey, he's just in Chinatown in Ottawa. This is Witt's least favorite thing that I'm talking about these playoffs is the fact that that the Leafs still get to remain the Kings of Ontario. If Ottawa loses the series, if they get swept with, will you fucking crown the Leafs, the Kings of Ontario? No, no. You're a fucking coward. I'm going to go towards the team from Ontario. Most recently in the Stanley Cup finals, like that. You're a coward, bro. You're a coward. You want to crown their ass? Crown the coward. That would be hilarious. You won't do spaces after bad home losses where McDavid hasn't had a point in two games. Spaces is when it's time to to worry. There's no worry. There's no panic. I'm fine. We're fine. Your team stinks. You can't find a GM. You beat the senators in the playoffs. That's awesome. You don't do anything else. You can wear your crown. You can wear your elephant tusk over your fucking nose as you're rooting on the mammoth. But you will not get inside my head. OK. I boys, I think tonight did you wake up to the tusk? The tusk video. Did you wake up to it? Yes. Is that like a sexy I think I'm a biz or like a real like elephant thing. I couldn't tell it looked like something, you know, you'd have a one of your bedroom. It's a real elephant tusk. As Jordan Martinuck texted me, he's like, did you have a thong shlong on your face last night? Oh, shlong. Thong shlong. That's a good one. Thong. All right, boys. All right, boys. Yeah. Bruins just we're in the middle of it. All right. Yeah, we love it. Just Bruins just do what they did the other night. They should be in good shape. And yeah, I'm going to relax for the afternoon. Probably finish that Hulk Hogan docuseries that got hit Netflix a couple of days ago. I don't know if you checked it out. It looks pretty good. They were actually filming it when he passed away, but it looks like it's not just going to be one of those sugarcoat documentaries or documentary series. So give that a whirl. Give it a whirl right here on Netflix. But boys can't wait. Big game three tonight. Loving the playoffs. Hope you I know you guys are too. So here we go, bro. We'll be back Monday, 11 a.m. Easter. Thank you so much. I love you. Love you, boys. Saving Seekers, we hear you. Seeking daily energy savings.
