Sit at the kitchen table. You have arrived. Enough time to move pickles. Visitors do make him frisky. Some people can't get to Specsavers unaccompanied. That's why we offer home visits. Home visits from Miriam's journey. Savers. Down pickles. Geographical restriction supply. Find out if you're eligible online. Hi Amber. Hi Lola. Welcome to an unlikely affair. Welcome to an unlikely affair. You guys, I have spoken about one of my angels so many times. There are so many times when people are like, who does your lips? Who's injecting your face? And I always talk about Lee and I say skin tight aesthetics. This is where I go. But the amount of DMs I get every time I mention Lee's name and it became overwhelming. And then I started a peptide journey and then it got really overwhelming. So this was like by popular demand. I have Lee Godfrey from skin tight aesthetics. I've known you since very early on in my sobriety at the time. A woman that I would go to meetings with was like, do you want to get your lips injected? I was like, fuck yeah, I do. We go to Lee and we have just been thick ever since. So welcome my love. Thank you. Are you excited? I'm so excited to be on a podcast with you. Thank you for the invite. Of course. So peptides, I want to say started becoming part of like a larger conversation for me in the last year. When would you Lee say that people started like really honing in on peptides and how useful they are and it becoming now an obsession for people? Let's say probably about a year or two years max when it got big. So I started about before the pandemic and it was kind of a hidden area. Nobody knew about it was mysterious. And now it's maybe not quite two years, but. Okay. So I actually wasn't that late to the game. That's so weird for me. I'm usually very late to the game. Can you describe for people what peptides are? So they're basically amino acid chains, very small ones that actually signal our body to do something. So we make thousands, thousands of them every day, all day long. And they actually are instructors. They instruct the cells to either transmit something, release something. So our body is this biological, you know, machine that literally needs instructions on whatever we need. Right. So they're just think of them as teachers. They just tell the student what to do. I love that because when I asked you, I was like, how do like a peptides for dummies? And she was like, take me for example, in this office, if I don't tell my staff what to do, it's not going to get done. That's a peptide. I was like, oh, now that I understand the peptides are the fucking boss. I love this. I love that. And how many are there? Thousands. They don't even know exactly how many. We don't actually have an amount of peptides that we make. Okay. They just know that they're in the thousands. And so if someone came into you and they were saying like, I want something for losing weight, beauty, and like I'm really struggling with my mood, like how many peptides that are in that little vial, how many are there to choose from? So like I said, the peptides are very specific in what they do. Right. So if someone said, I want to lose weight, you can put them on a GLP, which is a peptide. You can put them on growth hormone. And what growth hormone actually does, it actually metabolizes fat for energy. So you'd lose weight just by going on some growth hormones. Without taking away the muscle. That's correct. Wow. And it increases lean muscle. Right. Exactly. It does increase and it induces muscle strength. So you can lose weight just going on growth hormone. And just so you know, growth hormone is actually, you're still producing plenty of it until you stop growing, which is maybe 30. And that's going to give or take each, you know, person's DNA and stuff. 30 years old. 30 years old. You're still producing at 30, you're probably reducing about 15% of growth hormone. And every decade after that, another 15%, another 15%. And someone like me, probably if you took my growth hormone without me taking that peptide to induce it, I'd probably have very, very little. So at 30, I always tell people, and you're in your 30s, you know, if you want to take some of, you are reduced at 15%, but you don't want to get decentralized with it. So you don't want to take it for long periods of time. Because when I took mine and Amber, you know this because I was, as you guys know, I am in the program. I've been in recovery for gosh, seven and a half years and some change, I believe at this point. And I get nervous because I was struggling with just my mood and just feeling like my body just wasn't doing what it needed to be doing. I could feel it. And normally for a normie, you could go in and what do they do? They write you a prescription. And for me, even though I'm not in recovery from pills, it's a slippery slope. So Easton had told me a story and he's spoken about this publicly. So I don't feel like I'm sharing his story. But he was a chronic relapser. And on his fourth one, you know, my mom had gone to Lee and my mom was put on peptides and it was like life changing for her. So she said, I'm going to take you to Lee Easton and we're going to like, we're going to come up with a game plan because Easton was also on... What are they called? Benzo Diazopans. He was on Benzos. All right. He walked into Lee. They went over the peptides. He spoke about his, you know, chronic relapsing and that he was on Benzos and just felt numb. And you told him in that moment that you were going to fix him. It makes me emotional because it absolutely did. Sorry. So that's how I got introduced to peptides is Easton had had such just a change in who he was. And, you know, really had taken sobriety seriously and what he needed to do to move forward with it. And peptides were a huge part of his journey. So I said to him, like, do you think this is something that I could benefit from even though our stories look a little bit different? I go into Lee. And the moment she said, you have to give yourself a shot. I almost passed out. I was like, you want me? Here's the thing. You can shove Botox into my face all fucking day. You can take blood from my arm. If you're telling me you're going to spin the platelets and put it on my face and make me look younger. That I don't care. What? A shot. I don't know. We recorded it. I posted it on my Instagram. Totally. Me giving myself a shot for the first time, Amber, I felt like the baddest bitch on the planet. And it did help me. I was like, why do I feel revived? And then don't even get me started on the NAD. Have you tried it, Amber? I just did my NAD shot this morning. You give it to yourself? I do. I'm like a scientist. I have my needles. I actually, they're not like pre, my peptides are not pre like put in the needles. So I do all my math. I do all my stuff. Yeah. What? Whoa. Okay. Does it have the same effect when you put it into your stomach as it does in the back of your arm? Same. It's the same effect? It's the same effect. Oh my God. So after I had my boobs done, they were looking, I had drains and part of the package that comes with the boobs is peptide therapy. And they gave, they gave me two things to put in the back of my arm and I made my mom do it because I was like, oh, this is so much easier. Oh, really? And I didn't know you could put it in the back of your arm. Oh yeah. You can put it anywhere where it's fat. So cute. Where there's fat? I put mine in my, in your ass. I do my love handles. That's where I do it. And I do the NAD. That's where you do yours? Yeah. It's less painful. It's, it's accurate. Yep. But we, she shoves the NAD right into my ass. Let me tell you, I may come in today because I need it. I'm like, give me whatever feeling I had after I took that. Well, that's because I, it is more effective if it's in the muscle. Yeah. And then at night when I'm there, you, you're doing a subcube in the fat. And so when I can do it, I can put it in the muscle. It's a little bit more, it's, it's absorbed a little bit better and faster. Well, I was thriving after that. You did it for me and Michelle. Yeah. My friend that I brought in. Yeah. And we both were on a hundred. I was like, I've never felt this way in my life. We'll get back to your brother. And I remember looking at your brother. If you don't mind me, No, let's go back. I love this. And I remember saying to him, the first thing I asked him was, are you on Benzo Diaz pants? And he said, yes. And I said, that will keep you sick. That you will relapse over and over, over again. And this makes me even want to cry. And I said, when, that's when I said, I'm going to help you. But I told him that he was just never going to be able to get sober unless he got off the Benzos and the only way to get off Benzos, which is really interesting. And it brings us to NAD. NAD is a polypeptide. It's not actually a peptide. It doesn't really signal anything. It's not a signal or a teacher. But what it works in is then the mitochondria, which is a Krebs cycle. And that's a little complicated, but it's an electron carrier. It's like, what, what do you mean? It just helps it more efficient. So if I intake glucose and I have to go through the Krebs cycle, I mitochondria to make ATP, right? What happens in those third and eighth stage of the Krebs cycle, electrons are released. And so then you get free radicals and that's really bad and stuff. So what it does is it actually helps with the uptake of electrons. Now you think, well, why is this have anything to do with addiction, right? Or helping with urges or anything like that. They don't know, but there's great studies going on right now on how it's actually helping. So that's what I put them on as NAD. So what it, let's just say for an example, I went ahead and took two grams of sugar in and I only made one gram of ATP. Well, that's not very efficient, is it? Right? So this is exactly what NAD does. NAD does as well as MOTC as well. So it's great for efficiency. And when cells work efficiently, they won't break down and you don't have to keep utilizing new cells and new cells and new cells. So that's, but how it helps with addiction? No idea. But you think that in the next few years, they're going to be able to tell? Oh, absolutely. Yeah, they're using them in rehabs. I've heard that they're now testing them and really finding really great results with people who just cannot get off, you know, whatever substance that they're suffering from. Since I started taking them about, I think I'm six or eight weeks in now, I have my sex drive has actually gone down a lot. Wow. A lot. I mean, is that a good thing? Do you care? It's not a good thing. I do. Yes, I care. You know what? If that NAD is supporting me not having to like go out and chase and want to go find a guy like, I'm happy. I'm good. Well, if your cookie doesn't even get wet, what's the point? Good God. I take care of that on my own. Yeah, I get it. Yeah, get it done. We get the job done. I have a question for you. The NAD, a lot of people are talking about how it's coming in pill form that you can order. Worth it, not worth it. According to Dr. Seeds, anything by pill form, it's not going to be as effective. That's what I'll tell you about that. You know what? I think I heard that there's a company out there that you could do GLP ones in a pill form as well now. But again, probably not as effective. Or is it? I don't know. You tell me. Because I did cave to the NAD pill. I don't know if I've noticed a difference. I don't look like I'm 25 still. So how long does it take to notice the results once you start taking the peptides? Oh, they're usually immediately. They're very, very short acting peptides. Most peptides are really short acting. There's some that are a little bit longer. Some of the growth hormone ones, which are not always the best either because the grenoline I was talking to you about earlier, that can increase the grenilining sort of anxiety as well. Those are a little bit longer term ones. But typically most things have really short half-mile life. I don't know if that made sense to you. But half-life, they usually react really quickly and then they're out of the body. They just break down and they done their job. Most peptides. I love that. They were constantly producing peptides throughout the day except me. Except me. It would have to be quick because when I got my schedule, the cycles are relatively short. You're not on peptides for an extended period of time. There's maybe a week, week and a half too. Is that around the range? And then you take a break from your cycle. Right. So basically what we're doing is we're telling the body to release growth hormone. Then what does the growth hormone do? Utilizes fat for metabolism, right? It builds up muscle. So that part, once they've done their job, that's part of stays. But the actual peptides action is very short. Okay. It's a short acting. They do their job. They release the hormone, whatever they're going to do. And the results of that last. Are they short term or long term results? Long term results in muscle mass as long as you're working out. Sure. It's how well, how healthy you are, your age and how much you exercise. Those are factors that will tell you how long the results last. Not the peptide. The peptides are all short active. Most of them are. What peptide would you recommend if people want to stay young? I'm just asking for a friend. So what was the question? I want to, I want to look young. Like I want to, I want to look like I'm 25 forever. What peptide would you recommend? Like what's, what's the one for beauty? Or is it a combo? The glow is really nice. Have you heard of the glow? The glow is got copper peptides, TB and BPC. So it's a concoction of both? Yeah. Okay. And I can explain those to you a little bit. Yeah, TB 500. BPC 157. BPC. Okay. And GHK copper peptide. Amber's writing it down. Screenshot it for me. Take a picture. It's called the glow. Yeah. And you can take that for a long time. Or like 30 days on, 30 days off, that kind of thing. Yeah. And we can go into that a little bit. Yeah. What does that do to make me like, does it take away the fine lines and wrinkles? I want to, I just, I know that, I know that our listeners are going to want to know these two things. They're like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the body. But how do I quickly lose weight on a peptide? And how do I look young all the time? Right. And how fast does it work? That's what, yeah. Exactly. Like I need, I need results today. I don't have time. Right. And you usually get their media. They're pretty immediate, you know, but as far as how they work. So copper peptide induces a connective tissue, which is then IE fiber blast cells are stimulating and produces collagen. TB is the, you're going to love this one. What? The TB 500 is from the thymus gland. Now, as you know, when we're children, we have this thymus gland is really active and it releases the thymus and alpha 4. Now, what happens there is that as we get a little older, it starts to degenerate and it just gets replaced by fat. So we're not even, you know, making any more of it. Okay. So you're replacing something that when you were a teenager, you used to have and you don't have that much anymore. So that's really a good one. And then the BPC is really good for inflammation, tendon healing. I always talk about, I think the biggest attribute of aging, the attributed factor of aging is inflammation. 100%. And so this BPC is made in their stomachs and gastric and test and test in line. Yeah. And it helps with proliferation. That means the cell turnover induces healing, decreases inflammation and collagen. You love that fiber blast cells. There is our little fiber blast cells, but I love this. So that's why the glow is really good. It's probably in the TB and the BPC is not a heavy, heavy dose. And the GHK, you could take one to two milligrams a day for like a long period of time. I'm getting on it. I'm getting on it, Amber. I am so happy to be alive today. Let me just say. Okay. Why? Tell me. Because we have all of this amazing, yes, it's all about, you know, helps with vanity, right? All of the things that we want to look good. But like, think of all these things that our ancestors didn't have. Like even my mom, oh my God, I wish I could get my mom on this stuff. Like just to educate her and like inflammation. And think about the trickle effect that inflammation has down to like even cancer, I imagine. Listen, I'm not a doctor, but I can imagine it's just this web that can help us heal in so many different ways, mentally, physically. Like this is, this is amazing. We live in a really cool time. No, it is incredible. And the fact that it's something that your body already makes, it just decreases over time. Because I'm not, I'm not big on the pill popping and all of that stuff. The fact that I can go in and have Lee say like your body makes this just not as much of it anymore. Here you go. Have a heyday. Here's what you know about us. Lee is we have to learn how to consistency, you know, like it's like you, we start something that we love and then life gets in the way. But this is one thing where I've told Easton, my mom, myself that going into this new year, we have to start like prioritizing health above all else. We can, we can slack in many areas of life. This is one that like I'm not fucking around anymore. You know? Yeah, you shouldn't. Lee before this is definitely for our listeners before they go out and run and get peptides, do you recommend that they get tested to see what deficiencies they have before they just go start injecting themselves? Absolutely. I do. And I think it's important age is appropriate peptides. So I think, you know, anybody younger than 30 should not be, you know, really doing peptides. I'm just going to be really honest with you. Good to know. And I think there are some labs. I'm sorry. I don't have the name of one that I used many years ago. And he does all kinds of testing. And you know, if we're taking growth hormone, it's great for weight loss, right? And building muscle mass. But if you're already making enough, you don't want to get decentralized. And that's really important to know. If you're producing enough, you know, so like I said, if 30, we're losing 15% only every decade after that, we start losing. I don't know if I mentioned that earlier or not. Yes. So there are some labs to do that. So age appropriate, I think people after they've had kids, 40s, 50s should definitely be, you know, probably 90% of the population should be on it. I think it's also very important. That's my opinion though. No, but I trust your opinion. This is why I'm having you on because I just think you're well educated and Easton brought this to my attention that, you know, peptides are definitely not cheap. You can't just walk in and expect to get like a little $5 vial. They come at a pretty penny. So there's been people who decide to kind of do the roundabout way. And if a peptide is not properly diluted and you just decide to, you know, save some money by kind of playing scientists and doing it yourself, your body can really shut down. There was a girl who was fully hospitalized. Her entire, all of her organs shut down and she spoke about this. I believe it was on an Instagram reel that she had been doing her own peptides and didn't dilute them properly. So please, anybody who's listening to this podcast, do not try to go a roundabout way with your peptides. Like go to someone who's educated, who you trust. I know how hard it is to make a dollar, but like it's a must that you go to the right place and spend the money for the right product. Yeah. Yeah. And it's sourced properly, right Lee? That's the one thing that you taught me was it needs to be a third party and then there was one other thing that you had been trying to do. Oh, tell, yeah, the life of polysaccharides, really important. The LPS is for sure. Always make sure that's really important that once those are clean and then the sterility. They're expensive. So I think, you know, everyone's raving about them and there are some people that are like, you know, wanting to be on them, but they want to cut a corner and it ends up being very bad. So when you say a third party, is that the compound, the place that compounds them? Right. And so these pharmacies make sure that their third party tested. So they're checking for the, not only the sterility of it, but the actual molecule itself. And we really want to get 99.9% to 100% pure peptide that resembles our own. So it, yeah. I love this. If you want to be on peptides and you're in the Los Angeles area, I highly recommend skin tight aesthetics. I go to Lee, I've been going to her for all of my injectables for the longest. I'm so happy that you made time for us. Oh, thank you. It's been a privilege. I so appreciate coming on. And I just love you. So thank you. Thank you. Amber, I love you so much. I hope I covered everything. You covered everything. You covered everything. Freaking awesome. And I just, I'm like passionate about peptides right now. And even Heather and Terry DeBrow, who I don't know if you know Amber, their Heather is on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and her husband is like a world renowned surgeon. They were on the podcast a while back and then, you know, I started telling them about this peptide journey and they were raving about it. So happy that I had you because you were educating me on it. So I, I'm really excited for you guys to listen to this episode. Thank you for joining us. I'm going to catch you guys. Well, we're going to catch you guys next week for an unlikely affair. Love you.
