This is an I heart podcast guaranteed human. You are listening to the Dan Patrick show on Fox Sports Radio. Our one on this Wednesday, morale is high. Everybody's here. My starting lineup, my fab five, Fritzie, seat and Marv, Paulie, yours truly. And of course the backroom guys, you would home, you on the road in your car, listening on the radio or watching on peacock or the NBC sports network. As always, static the day brought to you by Penini America, the official trading cards of the Dan Patrick show. And when you think of stats, you think of Victor Wembenyama last night, he was economical is what I would say because he went against a depleted Lakers team, but he put up 40 points, 12 rebounds, two steals in 26 minutes of work. He had 25 in the first quarter. And I thought, let's go for a hundred there against the Lakers, the artist formerly known as the Lakers, but no Luca, no LeBron and no chance, but 26 minutes. And the scary part is he's only 22. He's the future and the future is getting close to being now. Because if I said you could have any player in the NBA, moving forward, it's Victor Wembenyama. SGA is pretty young. Obviously, Lucas Young, Cooper Flag is young. But if I said you can have one player for the next 10 years, I'm taking Victor Wembenyama. I know what the Joker is and he's the best player in the game. SGA is a wonderful player as well. Cooper Flag might turn out to be a 25, you know, 12 rebounds, five assists, kind of guy. But Wembenyama is different. When you see him on the floor, when you see him next to other players, just different, but the skill set, when you talk about coming into the NBA, the only other player who compares being ready to go was LeBron. And that's as lofty a praise as you're going to get, but watching Wembenyama, and I know the Lakers didn't put out their full line of last night, but it doesn't matter. He's that great and moving forward at age 22. That's where the sky's the limit, which is kind of where his head is. It's in the clouds there above everybody else. But watching that last night, and I kept thinking, he's making it look easy. These are NBA players he's playing against and have 25 in the first quarter. All right, 877 3DP show email address dpadampatric.com Twitter handle it. DPS show and have a poll question play of the day, static the day operator Tyler sitting by. He will take your phone calls. We will talk to Mike Reese. He covers the Patriots for the mothership. They had their exit interviews yesterday. I don't know too many teams who do that after the Super Bowl. If you lose, I was glad they did. Mike Raible talked and we'll talk to Mike Reese about the, it's weird. How if I said at the beginning of the year and I said this yesterday, okay, you're coming off a four win season and you're going to go to Super Bowl, but you're not going to play well at all. Would you sign up for that? Every Patriot fan would have, but it almost feels like the season was a let down because of how it played out in the Super Bowl. Or how it played out in the playoffs and it shouldn't feel that way, but it does because now all of a sudden we go, what are you going to do with that left tackle, a little Campbell? What about Drake, May? Not going to have shoulders surgery, but hey, he fumbles a lot. He got sacked a lot. I don't know. Like it just feels like boy, there's so much momentum. Oh, they played a weak schedule. Okay. Oh, they never should have been in the Super Bowl. Okay. So it almost feels like there's more negativity attached to what the Patriots were able to accomplish this year. So we'll talk to Mike Reese about that. Jason Garrett, former coach working for Football Knight in America. When I watched the pregame show, he liked Seattle by double digits. He knew he knew when he got there. He knew when he went to interview the Seahawks that this was a better team. And he said that on national TV drew breeze. First ballot, Hall of Famer will join us a little bit later on as well. Seaton, what's the poll question for the first hour of the program? I want to hear from Paul. Would you encourage your kid to sick out in order to attend a championship parade? A proof or encourage because I guess the school system in Seattle, there are no approved absences to go to the victory parade. If I'm a parent, yes, I would let my kid or kids go to the victory parade. Absolutely. Yeah, I think it's sort of age dependent, you know, like what do you mean? How old? Yeah, like old enough to appreciate doing that. No, or would they just be like, I'm called and like, all right, then stay in school, you know, but if they were like, oh, sick, I get to do this. Oh, yeah, then we go together. Yeah, it'd be awesome. Yeah, but no approved absences if you went. It's like if you got a note from Sam Darnold, that doesn't help you, you know, but I got a note from Sam Darnold. I'm sorry, son. Yes, Paul. Yeah. And Seattle, they are not closing the schools today. The past three years, the three Super Bowl champions to some level, the public school system in that city did close some schools. For over 40 years, Tyrax, been helping you find the right tires for how and what and where you drive, ship fast and free back by free road hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation, Tyrax.com, the way tire buying should be. All right. Any other poll questions there, Seaton? Yeah. I feel like Seattle as a city, as a city like government, maybe not the biggest sports fans. Really? I do. Yeah. Really? Yeah. I do. I've, you know, years ago, I went and shot something there with a Seahawks fans. I did like a tailgating video with them. And they spoke a lot about how the city really doesn't care too much about not the fans. The people do, but necessarily the local governments, they don't really care too much about the sports teams. Now why wouldn't they? Because you have successful, you know, as far as attendance goes with the mariners, obviously the Seahawks, maybe we're getting an NBA team, the Kraken, they've done really well attendance wise. I know Seattle has a city at least used to have a housing problem. Where they just, there just wasn't enough space for the amount of people that were moving there because of a lot of the companies that are headquartered there and they were driving employment. And so Seattle as a city was building up because there was no more room to build out. So I think that real estate there is, is a, you know, a problem. You know, I think having all of that space there is an issue. And so real estate is incredibly valuable there, I think. So no places to tailgate. I think well, right. So like one of the things that Seahawks fans would were complaining about is that the city would chase them from spot to spot. Like you can't tailgate here and then they would find a spot to tailgate. And then the next year there would be like a building put up there and be like can't tailgate there and it's illegal to tailgate over here. So then eventually they were like down under an underpass and like this is where we're tailgating. This is awesome. And it was kind of like every year they had to find a place to go and they complained a lot about the local like city government there. Yes. Yeah, Paul. It's an interesting topic which big city support their sports teams the most financially. Obviously, or whatever support, but it does feel like Seattle. We don't live there and we don't follow it. So we don't know the nuances. But when the Sonics left years ago, they got a bit of a tag. And I'm sure there's more details to it that they didn't support keeping the Sonics or some people didn't support keeping the Sonics and tag them a little bit. Well, 800,000 are expected to be at the victory parade to death. No kids. Well, well, there'll be kids there. They just won't have approved absences. Yes, Paul. I'm tired of walking. If you're going to call out sick for your kid to go to the parade, are you honest as a parent? I'm taking my kid to the parade. Or do you say Jimmy's got a fever? No, I'm just saying we're going to the parade. Okay. Yeah, I'm not going to lie to you. I'm just saying because to me, that's an excused absence. As a parent and you're taking them to watching a victory parade, yes. Yes. Absolutely. Yes. But according to the press release from Seattle Public Schools, going to the parade is an unexcused absence. That means if you had a test that day, you get the big zero. Okay. All right. Well, deal with some extra homework there. See, he's get the grade extra credit. Yes, Todd. That's where it gets tricky. If there's an incentive teacher giving an important exam there and it's worth 30, 40% of your grade, can you really sit that out? You would probably go to school knowing that. I would go to school. Of course you would. Yeah, that's lame, though. It's February. Yeah. And important exams are we taking right now? Yeah. And this is life lessons here, like 20 years for now, you got to remember what you did on this day in school. You got to remember you went to a victory parade. It's about life experience. It should be going to the parade. Yes. But less it's worth 30% of more than you're creating the other thing. Well, you of course graduated number two in your class. Yeah. One point here or there could be the difference in where your top 10 ranking is. Oh. Right. Dave and Eugene. Hi Dave. What's on your mind today? Hey, Dan. I'm calling in and following up on the comments yesterday about Fritzy failing his driving exam twice. And I have a new nickname, which I think would make a great t-shirt. And that is no pass hole. Alrighty. See what he did there. He took. Sure did. Yeah, I'm just going to let that simmer or whatever one you want to use. You you didn't pass the test and you don't let people pass you on the high. I'll let the couple sex of dead air speak for itself on the out creative and clear with. David and Ohio. Hi, David. What's on your mind today? Hey, Dan. I got a quick rind time for you. Oh, okay. Todd's situation here. Yeah. Old Apple products and didn't pass his driving test. Old Apple products. Is that what you said? Yeah. Yeah. Like an old Apple electronic. Oh, okay. Todd, you offering up anything there? I know. I know blackberry doesn't do with Apple. I can't think of an old Apple product specifically. Paul. Hi, Todd. Todd. Yes, that is great. All righty. Thank you, David. I pie Todd. That is a rhyme. Yes, it is. Yes, it is. By the way, watching the Olympics and we become experts on events. We have no idea about leading into the winter Olympics. Now all of a sudden, everybody knows about curling, you know, snowboarding, a loose ski jumping. Now we become an expert after 15 minutes. And plus there's something about the winter Olympics. I think the danger element. Think about the summer Olympics. There's not a lot of danger there. Now you do have gymnastics. But other than that, you know, it's kind of like you're running or you're jumping. Here, you're, you know, taking your life in your hands with ski jumping and downhill skiing and going 80 miles an hour and there's that element of, I'd never do that, but I like watching it. And after 15 minutes, I know everything about it. Yes, Paul. I was watching this guy from Finland on a slope style where they go down and do all the tricks on skis. He's going down backwards. He does like a double twist flip and didn't land it like, oh, that's so disappointing. The guy's crumpled in a mess. Like, oh, he should have done that. And I was like, that looks really, really painful. And you look at the, you know, the, the air that these snowboarders get, you know, some of these events and you're like, oh, be damned. That's awesome. And then all of a sudden we're critiquing them that, you know, he's got to do a triple something, something, and you got to have, you know, whatever the lingo is. And now all of a sudden we're, we're shouting it out to our TV. You didn't land the Tetsy Roll. That was a Tetsy Roll. At least a half a point of deduction. No Tetsy Roll, what the hell are you thinking? Not a test. Oh, buddy. Oh, I know. But it's, you know, we watch. If it was on, you know, six months from now, any of these events, we wouldn't want. You'd watch ice skating, but you wouldn't watch. And I mentioned this yesterday, the genius of Dick Ebersaw, my former Boston NBC, you get a tutorial when you're watching these events. They will let you know. This is what they're judging. These are the people to keep an eye on. There's always a backstory. And then they bring that to you. Now you're well versed. You're ready to go. So wife and kids and you and you're right there front and center. And now you know exactly what is going to happen. Or what could happen and who these people are. Do a wonderful job on NBC. Uh, let's see. Christoff in Washington. Oh, hello there. I want to say five, 11 and three quarters and a Puggy 220. Um, I heard you guys talking about Washington state or Seattle sports in general. Just to kind of lighten you folks, but Washington state as a whole is a big sports state. Um, I mean, Seattle has always been known as a baseball city and a basketball city. But when the Sonic left, they left a bad taste in everyone's mouths to where they would not support the NBA anymore. I know a lot of people that were die hard, Sonic fans and now have stopped watching the NBA totally. But to go to, I think it was Paul, he had talked about local government. The reason why it may be feels like local government does not support sports in Washington state or Seattle in general is Seattle itself is not safe anymore. Um, a lot of local Washingtonians will tell you Seattle has kind of gone down a little bit in terms of how the government officiates the city itself and kind of where they set things up. Um, so that's really where we're at. The Washington state sports. All right. Well, thanks for the phone call. I have a brother who lives in Seattle and loves it there. And, um, and you know, goes to all the different sporting events. He'll be at the victory parade today. And, uh, you know, it's like San Francisco got a bad knock, you know, before we got out there and people like all, it's a war zone or man, it's, you know, gone to hell. And, you know, has it changed? Yes. But I thought that they did a wonderful job. And that city was great. Uh, the people were great. Uh, I didn't feel unsafe any place that we went to. You know, you know, are like five mile radius there. And every city has, you know, I, you know, have, uh, two kids who live in New York City and you could find places in New York City. You could, you know, anywhere you're going to find that. But, uh, I found that San Francisco did a wonderful job hosting the Super Bowl. Yeah. It's sort of like confirmation bias. You know, if you're looking for negative things, you tend to find negative things. You're looking for positive things. You tend to find positive things. That was deaf. That was a full display of San Francisco. Uh, cause it is a gorgeous city that obviously has the same issues that every other city has. Yeah. Yeah. Paul. Going back to Seattle, when they built, is it Lumenfield? I mean, they nailed that one. The way the roof comes out and the football type ends on. And you look right at the downtown. They really nailed that downtown stadium. I think south of the downtown. All right. We'll take a break. We'll check in with the Patriots. Mike Reese covers the Patriots, the exit interviews, interviews. And, uh, how is morale in New England? We'll find out next here. Dan Patrick show. We'll talk to Jason Garrett of NBC's football night in America next hour. Also Drew Breeze will join us a first ballot. Whole of Famer. I think a lot of attention on the Patriots and the fallout after an incredible year was, boy, they got exposed. And Mike Vrayble in particular talking yesterday at the Patriots press conference about his left tackle will Campbell. When you sign up to play left tackle, you sign up to play corner. You sign up to play quarterback. You sign up to be the head coach. You get judged. You get scrutinized. You're in Wells 22 years old. He's their left tackle. He'll get better and get stronger moments where he played well. Moments where he blocked the guy. There's plays he'd like to have back when I'm moving well to take care of him. Moving well to guard or to center or to tight end or anywhere else. We're not going to tell you. And then Will Campbell who didn't speak to the media after the Super Bowl loss spoke yesterday. I just wanted the night to sleep on things. Hopefully y'all can forgive me and we can move past it. I know myself. And if I were to spoken after, I would have said something that I didn't need to say. Obviously, you know, I was big tie. I paid a lot. So people expect a certain thing and I expect more myself. So whenever I don't perform, I don't expect, you know, everyone to be like, it's okay, buddy. I mean, obviously it sucks. But it doesn't suck for anyone more than it sucks for me. Mike Reese covers the Patriots ESPN NFL Nation reporter House Moral. How would you sum it up? And great to be with you this morning. I think there's two parts to this. There's the short term morale, which is they acknowledged they got their butt kicked in the Super Bowl. Will Campbell was asked what it was like to review the film of the game. And he said terrible. You know, they said they didn't deserve to win based on the way they played offensively. So that's the short term. Moral, I think Mike Raeble did a really good job as he did all year in terms of messaging with the team about the game. The team about the big picture. Moral and he kept citing the number 3007, 3007. And he was saying this is the 3007th day of our program. It's his first year as the head coach. No one thought they were going to be here. So I think he was able to zoom out with the players and sort of allow them to see that they had a great season, just a very disappointing end to that great season. Okay, but let's take it into next season with Will Campbell. Yep. It's going to need surgery and was that really preventing him from getting any kind of stance to hold up to the Seattle defense and then Drake may with his shoulder going into next season. So let's start with Will on the surgery. I don't know the answer to that question, Dan, but my my hunch would be no just because he. He had an MCL injury November 23rd at Cincinnati. He went on injured reserve. You missed, I believe it was four or five games before coming back. And he said that that was no excuse for his performance. And so I'll follow up on that to see if any surgeries required, but my sense is no coming out of that. And Drake, I know for sure because I asked him that question yesterday with the right throwing shoulder. Does he anticipate that it would need any surgery? He said no, just a rest for that. You look at his regular season and I said I would have given him the MVP because I didn't think the Patriots were going to score 20 points in the Super Bowl. I mean, I had them losing by double digits. He did a lot for them during the regular season and obviously, Raeble, that defense was wonderful. But we saw a different Drake May in the postseason. And I don't know what you attribute that to because he was obviously under duress, a lot of turnovers there. And really wasn't very threatening, even though it came up with the most passing yards in one quarter in the history of the Super Bowl. So and that in that great example of how stats can be misleading because in the fourth quarter, I think I counted 31 dropbacks. And they were down 19 nothing. So if I'm getting that right then, I think start with what Drake said yesterday. He acknowledged that he did not play as well down the stretch as he wanted to. And he said he's committed to make the promise that he's going to work hard to try to get back there and to write that wrong, if you will. So that's the first thing with Drake. I think who they played has to be part of this conversation. Those were four, if we're talking about the playoffs, four of the best defenses in the NFL. So I think that is part of it in this conversation about his play, tailing off in the postseason. You go with a last place schedule to now a first place schedule. And nobody's going to say they backed into the Super Bowl or the playoffs next year. What do you make of what's ahead? It's exactly what Drake said yesterday. He said that everyone's going to be coming after them next year. So they have to have the mindset that they haven't arrived that there's more work to do to maintain their standing. Dan, they're going to have probably six prime time games and, you know, they got there. And they're going to have with the 17 games and they're going to have one more road game than home game. And let's be honest, you know, it's some people talked about the schedule. They had this year in some of the breaks they caught as if it was like a demerit to the team. I think two things can be true. They did have an easier schedule this year. They still went nine and oh, on the road, that's not easy to do. So I think two things at the same time can be true. But it's not going to be like that next year the way it looks right now. Talking to Mike Reese, he works for the mother ship, the NFL Nation reporter covering the Patriots. How much damage did Brady do last week? In terms of him saying he didn't have a dog in the fight. Yeah. Yeah, I think it was more with some of his former teammates. I think that hurt some of his former teammates to hear him say that because there's also a statue Dan out here outside. I'm not far from it. I'm down here at the stadium right now. If I walked outside and went about 200 yards away, I'd see a big statue of them. And so I think maybe it just chipped away a little bit at some of the. But why not take a stand? Who cares for Tom? Maybe maybe maybe because he feels like as a broadcaster that just called. He's not impartial. He's not impartial. He's not covering the game. That's why I'm just like just say, hey, I'm always going to be rooting for Mr. Kraft in the Patriots. And you know, I'm going to hire their offensive coordinator. I'm rooting for him as well. Nobody would have cared until he made us care about this. I think that's fair. And I think he tried to clean it up. It was probably a little late right then on the Instagram story when he said, you know, Robert Kraft go get the seventh ring so we can both have seven. But at that point, it had sort of spread right? I will say this with the present team, there was one player, Robert Spalain, the linebacker who said it made him sick to hear that. But honestly, they've done a good job sort of separating and saying this is a new era. Like we have respect for the old era, but they're not really clinging on to what they did in the past. Oh, man. I mean, he was a gift for us during the Super Bowl week because there wasn't a whole lot to talk about leading up to this game. So I do thank Tom for providing that. Mike, thank you for joining us. We appreciate it. Dan, thanks for having me. That's Mike Reese of the mothership covering the Patriots. In between Tom, you know, his social media calendar, he is busy. He's party and he's dancing, exchanging phone numbers. He's on yachts. He's, you know, got commercials here. Although when I do see the pizza hut commercial, I do think it's clever. The problem is Tom doesn't eat pizza hut. That's the problem. Like subway. Like I laughed when I saw it. I'm like, dude, you're not going to be at subway. You're not going to be riding in a subway, let alone eating a subway sandwich here. But the pizza hut, all right, I did laugh the first time I saw it. But then I went, he ain't not eating pizza hut. It was like when Tiger was doing the Buick commercials. And I'm going, all right, might have one parked in the driveway. But I'm going to guess there's a Mercedes or something of Ferrari that's going to be in the driveway or in the garage. Yes, he, I don't know when he crashed that car. Well, that was a rental. That was a rental. And he has to be seen pulling up to the golfing event in a Buick. Product placement. Yeah, oh yeah. But if he's driving around, didn't, didn't a shack do a Buick commercial? Absolutely. Unless they manufactured a brand new Buick just for him, I can't imagine shack getting into a Buick. Tiger Woods, when he had that crash in 2021, remember he's going to the golf course? He was driving a Genesis GV80. Now that was a courtesy car from the tournament. And then the other accident he had, the Thanksgiving night, was a Cadillac Escalade. Okay, just journalists. Yeah, that's when the seven iron came through the window. Oh, the cranberry sauce all over the place. Oh, I know. He got busted being on his phone texting Thanksgiving dinner. No, socks on, run into the car. Oh, my goodness. Yeah. How about a couple of phone calls here? How do we get there? Oh, Tom Brady. Oh, yeah, Tom going to pizza. Cut! Carter in Seattle. Carter, you going to the parade today? Be grudgingly, Dan. Get this. I, born and raised in Seattle, hate the sea hawks, can't stand them. Big packer fan. My boss, however, I'm a bodyguard. My boss is going. So I get to attend the trophy ceremony and the parade. Yay! Wait, you're a bodyguard? I am. Yes. And so I am, yes, on my way to do the trophy ceremony, do the parade, and I cannot stand the sea hawks. Can you tell me who you're guarding? We'll leave that one out. Okay. And yeah, that's fine. Thank you. Thank you, Carter. And go pack go. Give us the target in the location, please. Yes, Tom. Carter sounds very intimidating. I don't want any part of that. Eric and Michigan. Hi, Eric. What's on your mind today? Yes. I remember like a pretty saying, they should let the kids out just to experience the survival parade. I find that ironic when you said that, when he would not go to the survival parade when Von Miller invited him. Well, I know. I know. We still crush him over that. And he goes, oh, well, they only gave me one ticket. I couldn't bring my son. Yes, Tom. I didn't say the kids were guys in the opposite. Actually, they got some kind of test or quiz. They better off going to school. You skipped the game and the parade. I did that, taking a stand, because there was only one ticket off. And as generous as that was, I was a package deal with my son. And I was only going to go if there was like two tickets. I didn't want to go if it was just going to be by myself. That's how I felt. I stand by them. Did your son say, don't go? Take a stance, dad. Didn't even ask his opinion. I was just going to call it. I'm like, it's a father and son thing since he was an infant. We were screaming at the TV together, rooting for Broncos. I'm not going to go and stole it for that. All right. Mark and Virginia. Hi, Mark. What's on your mind today? ADP, fourth time, long time. I've got a poll question for you guys. Possibly today. All right. The poll question would be, what is the best high school athlete teammates? One entry would be Randy Moss and Jason Williams. The other one would be a current one Matt Stafford and Clayton Kershaw. Well, they're both going to the Hall of Fame. But if you're talking about teammates, one was really good in baseball and one was really good in football. Whereas Randy Moss and White Chocolate were on the state championship team in West Virginia. I'm sure there's a ton of Marvin. This is right up your alley. Yeah, but a lot of those guys, they're prep school guys. I can't say, oh, these guys were on Oak Hill Academy on Mount Verde. Oh, please, you guys were all state and then you guys went to these prep schools. Oh, you know what? Reggie Lewis, Reggie Williams and Mugsie Boggs were all on the same high school team in Baltimore. That was Dunbar, yep. Yeah. So like public schools, maybe local private high schools, but do not give me Oak Hill or any of these big time IMG Academy, that doesn't count. Is Oak Hill Academy still exist? They do, but they're just Mount Verde now has taken over as the top prep school. Like if Carmelo was, you know, playing now, he'd go to Mount Verde now Oak Hill. Okay, but Mount Verde pays better. Oh, keep me out of that. I'm not sure. Well, no, everything's for sale now. True. I mean, these kids go into high school and you get the shoe companies giving the money and you get merchandise. I mean, they're trying to get you as early as possible. And I don't know what a high schooler gets, but I would imagine you're getting something. Yeah, Paulie. We're looking up this high school thing Ben Simmons and DeAngelo Russell played basketball together at Mount Verde Academy. Pretty high end. Ben Simmons back in the day. Yeah. You see, I don't count. No, I know. You know, what did I say when I first saw him play? I think he's shooting with the wrong hand. I did come in and say he's shooting with the wrong hand. And people went, wow, what are you talking about? He is not a natural left handed shooter. In my opinion, and then all of a sudden, the story came out where I think he admitted that he's not a natural left handed shooter. I don't know if he's a natural right handed shooter either, but I watched him in LSU and I went, that dude can't shoot. What do you, I mean, he looked like he was going to be the next magic or LeBron or whatever. I don't know if he loved the game, but he couldn't shoot, which is remarkable to get to that level, to be that good. And nobody said, you know, you might want to work on your shot a little bit. Oh, I don't need to. Yes, Marvin. Well, that's the thing about basketball. Those guys are genetic lottery winners. So if you see somebody that's 610, play basketball. And his dad was a professional, I think also. So the genetics are there. So it's not like if you play football, you play baseball, you generally like you love the game. But basketball, you don't know if that 7 footer really loves basketball. He's tall. But it didn't take long for you to go, we're going to work on that shot. If I see it during a game and I go, he can't shoot, then maybe somebody else saw that. It seemed to be doing pretty well up until he got to the NBA. Well, no, you can get by with with talent and height being able to score around the basket. But I would have been five feet off of him. I just go, go ahead. If you if you make those shots, you're like Angel Reese. If you make those shots, good. Go ahead. I would like to see Angel Reese against Ben Simmons in a shooting contest. I turned into that. For like, we're zero, zero, half. 15 footers. Oh. 15 footers. And then we'll have a bonus round where we take it out to 18 feet. And I just tell the ballboys where where helmet. Yes, Marvin. I remember Ben Simmons made a three pointer. It felt like one of those videos where the team manager played on senior night and he makes a shot and the crowd goes crazy. That's what looked like like the team manager hitting the three pointer. All right. We'll take a break. More phone calls coming up, update our poll results. Up next, we have our play of the day. And then I put up their shit schools clothes for championship parades. And that's at 66% yeah, I would say why not why not or you say to them, hey, how about we take today off and then everybody comes in on Saturday. I would be missing both days. I don't know about that. Now people sending in high school teammates, you have Aussie Smith and Eddie Murray, both Hall of Famers who played on same high school. Mike Leaves of the mother ship sent me a text said Eric Davis Darryl Strawberry on the same high school team. Who else is in there? Yeah, Paulie. Donovan McNab played basketball and football Mount Carmel and Chicago played basketball with Antoine Walker and football with Simeon Rice. Okay. Pretty good. Yeah. Yeah, more. Mike Conley Jr. in Greg Ode. Oh, it could have been Mike Conley is still playing. He is. He's got to be my age. I think it's like a year younger, but I think he got traded three times in the last week. Now do you get a Jersey? Oh, he's I'm curious. You know, hey, you got traded too. And then you know that you're going someplace else. And then you're going someplace else. And then he went back to Minnesota. Yes, yes, Todd. I don't think it should get a Jersey. Give me a cap or a keychain or something like that. And Jersey for being on a team for 24 hours or something like that. Thank you, Todd. Yes, Paul. Yeah, Mike Conley has been traded twice in the past week and then waived by the Charlotte Hornets. Yeah. But I think he's back in Minnesota now. Yeah. He waived is rude. Which, well, what would you say? This is like a waived. Would you lie like you're waiving? Bye-bye. See you later. We just waived you. I don't know. I feel like there's another choice of words that we could use that waived. Fired? Yeah, just, I don't know, released or something. Discarded? Oh, you got waived. Like, it just feels like they're watching you pack your crap and you get to your car and they're waiving in the door. Released? Released. Just feels rude. Yeah. Yes, Todd. Everybody likes another paycheck, but at some point, I think they're riding on the wall with nine different teams in the course of a week or two, bouncing you around. Maybe, you know, I can sit this out for the rest of my life. Hey, I would stay as long as I could. I wouldn't want to grow up. What are you going to do, you know, the rest of your life? He's got a chance to be at least. It's a good workout for him. You know, he gets to work out, get paid, travel, first class. Yeah. Why not? Yeah, see? And it's probably tough, too. I know, it's what we do for a living, but as an athlete being like, all right, well, I guess I'm hitting my podcast era. Better get me into my buddies, start our podcast, I guess. What are you going to do the rest of your life? Well, obviously, I'm going to do a podcast. Well, I'm going to start my podcast, I guess, and I can't play anymore. Yes, Paul. Mike Connelly, by the end of this year, will have made $297 million. That's pretty good. Pretty good. That's higher than I expected. Nice player. Yes, Tom. At the end of the year, you can tune in for pros and connoisseur on your eye heart. There you go. Todd came up with a great idea. And it's worth waiting, I think, 15 minutes. Wow. Now, my overselling this, I thought that he gave me a great idea for a marketing campaign for an athlete. OK. And I think it's great. A couple of phone calls in here. Layla in Florida. Hi, Layla. Hi, Dan. Hi, the Dan ad. Good morning, Tia guys. Good morning. 5 5 and weigh in in, as always, is practically perfect in every way. And I'm, thank you. I'm telephoning today because now that the Super Bowl is over, I'm wondering what's the next sporting event is everyone looking forward to the most. Around the Capone home, the March Madness Madness has begun and the squares are getting swiftly filled in. So I'm excited to hear what you guys are looking forward to next. Well, I'm looking forward to the All-Star Week. I don't go too far out. And then, you know, I'm going to start watching more College basketball. Purdue and Nebraska was really entertaining last night. Purdue had a 22-point lead. And then my Huskers came back, went into overtime. But and I would have bet money on North Carolina losing after beating Duke and they ended up. I think Miami led wire to wire. But yeah, March Madness, you get spring training, you're going to get Augusta, you're going to get the playoffs, you're going to get the draft. I mean, there's a lot of things going on in the next couple of months. Yes, Marvin? An underrated week, championship week, those small conferences that get to play on ESPN and ESPN 2, get their shine for that one day. Kim and Florida, good morning, Kim. What's on your mind? Good morning. I got Reggie Bush and Alex Smith going to Helix High School together. And we're the only two. I think we're in the high, then at the same time. Yeah, and Bill Walton went to Helix High in San Diego. David in Denver. Hi, David. What's on your mind? They danced 6, 4, 3, 30. Just to follow up on the Reggie Bush and Alex Smith. I actually played against him. I was a sophomore when Alex Smith was a senior and Reggie was a junior. And you just had to watch and it was a thing of beauty to watch. I mean, we got her butt kicked. Don't get me wrong, but it was pretty incredible. Did you get to tackle Reggie? Oh, no, I was an offensive line man. So I just got to watch from the sideline. But it was, you know, hand off here and 80 are tough. Yeah, he was a video game when at USC, Reggie had some runs where you went, wow. But I remember scout telling me this. He said he can't run between the tackles. He's not built to be, you know, lower body. And I'm sent, are you watching the highlights? And then he scolded me. And he said, who's the scout here? And I said, oh, okay. And he was joking. And then, you know, Reggie had a respectable NFL career, but he wasn't the Reggie Bush we thought at USC. And Alex Smith, you know, had a pretty productive career as well. I always felt bad. He was always the quarterback before the quarterback. I felt like, you know, the Kaepernick, Mahomes carved out a nice career. Now working for the mothership. Jason Garrett said Seattle was going to win by double digits on Sunday. He'll join us coming up and Fritzie's marketing campaign for Sam Darnold coming up as well, Dan and the Danettes Dan Patrick show. This is an I Heart podcast guaranteed human.
