Summary

Rachel Lindsay and Callie Curry recap the premiere of Real Housewives of Atlanta featuring Porsha's couples dinner with new cast member Kaye Michelle, discuss the drama-filled first episode of Real Housewives of Rhode Island with its complex relationship dynamics, and review Summer House's ongoing fallout between Kyle, Amanda, and West.

Insights
  • New reality TV casting success comes from lesser-known markets with authentic deep-rooted social connections rather than major cities where cast members are already superfans trying to perform predetermined character archetypes
  • Cast members who lean too heavily into exaggerated versions of their first-season personas risk becoming caricatures that audiences reject, as demonstrated by comparisons to Bryn from RHONY
  • Reality TV relationship drama often masks deeper financial and career anxieties, particularly when cast members' income depends on television visibility and brand partnerships tied to show performance
  • The most compelling reality TV moments emerge from cast members who remain authentic rather than those who dramatically shift their on-camera behavior based on perceived audience preferences
  • Casting decisions that prioritize established friendships and shared history over celebrity status create more organic conflict and storytelling than assembling superfans of the franchise
Trends

Not well, bitch. Who gonna check me, boo? Welcome to Morally Corrupt. I'm Rachel Lindsay. She is Callie Curry. Callie, let's just dive right in. Atlanta is back. I don't know about you. I'm very excited. And there are too many people. But I'm still very excited. There's so many. Whenever they should be cast picture, I'm like, too many. There's a lot of people, even at this dinner, the first night that Portia hosts, like, when they kept coming in, I was just like, wait, what is happening? Like, there's way too many people. But... I feel like we say this a lot. I ain't been excited for someone like Kaye Michelle. In a long time. It's... I'm excited that the Bravo Universe gets to meet her. Like, we are familiar with her from Love and Hip Hop. Yeah. She's... she's... I don't know if she's one of Grammy, but she's like a Grammy nominated, at least singer. She's very talented. And she's very entertaining. She's so funny. She's so funny. She's so funny. Did you not... When I was watching her, I was like, I want to hang out with her. Yeah. I want to be Kaye Michelle's friend. And I like that she's a little nervous about it all, because she's like, listen, last time I was in Atlanta, it wasn't great because she was in Nashville. I know. And so she's like, it wasn't great. Things didn't go well for me. So I'm like, I like that she's like a little timid about stepping into the friend group. She's not showing it. She's just like opening up to Porsche about it. But she's here and she's ready to play. And she knows the players at the table. Like, her sitting next to Charles. I love this. Well, Charles, he's a little bit more used to the cameras. He's ready to go. He knows what he signed up for. He's like, I understand my job. And two minutes in, he started looking at the camera. I was like, Charles, don't look at the camera. I just like that he's more like, I feel like last season he was kind of like, I don't want anything to do with this. I'm letting you do it, but like, I don't want to be a part of it. I this season, it seems like he's more like, all right, I got to be a little bit on board. I want to be here, but I know I got to be here. And I'm not going to hold back. I'm going to say whatever I want to say. And I'm not going to say whatever I don't want to say, which I liked. I want more Charles. Me too. I'm into it. But knowing that he still runs his mouth too much, I'm here for. I'm here for. Oh, yeah, that's great. Which is what we need on Rookie2. Yes. When she first made that joke about, oh, make sure your drink is clear. I was like, what is Angela talking about? And then when they replay him saying, oh, this is how I got her to marry me. Or she got me to marry her because she put something that drink. I'm like, OK, Charles, Charles is still Charles. Charles is back. Also, their relationship is not like what everyone would maybe want. But it seems to really work for them. And I like that she's like, I don't care. They won't work for you. It works for me. Yes. And I mean, she and Phaesar still aren't OK. But I like that Angela is coming in. She's like, you want to bring in rumors about Charles? Fine. You want to say these things about fine. And I like that's the energy you need to have. Just brush it off. You know, to your point, you know your relationship. You know what you have. You're not trying to prove it. You don't have to do all that. Because I felt like last year she kept trying to prove it. Charles, somebody he's not. He's not the lovey-dovey person. He seems much more private about what you guys have been public. And that's fine. That is about a good. Yeah. Yeah. He's been in the game a long time. Like, you got him. You got him. So like, be happy with that. We also get Pinky Cole, who is this. Have you ever had slutty vegan? Mm hmm. I have heard about it, but I never had it. But isn't it. Then they found bankruptcy. They found bankruptcy, which I thought we were going to get off season. But in the trailer, we already start to learn that her business isn't what her business is. But that's what makes me so happy for her. We've had her on higher learning before. I've never had slutty vegan personally, but we've had her on higher learning. But I love that we know about the bankruptcy. But when she's introduced to us, she's like, honey, I am a CEO. I am married to this. I have this. I have this. I have this. And she's like, my company is worth this. And I'm like, oh, well, we know what's to come. Thank you so much for that warm introduction of you, because we know things are taking a turn. And I know businesses filed for bankruptcy, but it doesn't. Because when her bankruptcy was announced, she did this whole thing on social media explaining what bankruptcy is. But I feel like since then, we've seen some things that maybe still contradict what it is that she's trying to put out there. But I'm here for it. She and Kaye Michelle are both deltas from my sorority, which I love as I'm at war with the AKAs right now personally. I did see that you went at the AKAs for the Trick Daddy concert. And I just wanted to save the record. I've been to multiple Trick Daddy concerts. I would not recommend. Not for that. I would not. Not for much. I love Trick Daddy. But yeah, it's a subject. No. It's like bringing him to a conference, celebrating women and your legacy sorority. Is the I'm sorry. It's the funniest thing. I said, especially if you heard any of his lyrics. That's what I said. What were you expecting? Popping his pelvis saying jump on the dick. What were you expecting? And I listen, I love it. I still think the funniest thing people got. Very funny. Oh, Madden, they were making very personal attacks about me. Yes. Yes, they're making. Oh, is that? Yes. And it's always the same ones, right? It's like, I know that's not coming from you. That's real rich after you let that white man take your money. And I'm like, I go, I literally wrote under somebody go, imagine being this man. Over Trick Daddy. If the Delta's did this, I would come up with some like long monologue as to how it wasn't that bad. And then at the end of it, I would probably start laughing and be like, who did this? Who's I did this now? Would I have been at the front row recording? Absolutely. But it was not me. But it would probably have gone. But then afterwards been like, that was a crazy choice. I don't know whose choice that was, but that was nuts. And they had Uncle Luke. They had Uncle Luke there as well and JT Money. And I was somebody said, I want to relive the politics. I'm just going to put these people selfishly for myself. I mean, yeah, that person's a lot of fun. But I need that woman to stand up for that. Not for that. Show yourself because this is hilarious. Yeah. But yes, Kamyshell and B.G. Cole are Delta's. Yay. This episode is presented by Too Good and Co. Creamer. So I love hot coffee, but whether you enjoy your coffee hot, cold, bold or frothy, I got to tell you, two good creamers make every sip a good one because they're made with farm fresh cream, real milk and contain three grams of sugar per serving. That's 40 percent less than the five grams per serving in leading traditional coffee creamers, which makes for a rich, creamy and delicious experience. Find two good creamers in the Creamer aisle. They can't make it a big deal about Portia having this couples night in her ex-husband's house. I was like, it's her house now. I didn't think that was weird at all. No, she won the house. It's her house. I fully expect her to be dating in the house. Yeah. I'm like, who knows what? She won the house. But did I appreciate it? No. Yes. But did I appreciate the ghost of Simon? Absolutely. Did I appreciate that faded Simon kept running his way through the house? Yes. He is part of the rest of the season. I was just like all of these women, like when they walked in, they were like, oh, is this weird? No, it's not weird. It's her house. It's it's yeah. Now, did I think the guy that she was with was overly eager to be on television? Did I think yeah, them sitting at the head of the table, him giving a speech about like as if welcome to our house? It felt it felt staged. I was like, do you like each other? No, because in the next trailer, we meet the woman who's currently your girlfriend. I was like, what? I don't know what this is. It seemed like he was rented for couples night. And I don't know which was better. Him rented in person or Drew having that guy sit on FaceTime. Girl. Black man that would sit on FaceTime the entire time. I know everything I need to know about you. I was dying when Kay Michelle was like, what the hell is this man doing? Sitting on FaceTime with a ring light for three hours. I was like, not the ring light. But when they showed him, he really did have a bright light on him. Drew, this is Drew's odd. Obviously. That's the only way I can describe. There is something's off. It's it's. And when she was like, Kay Michelle was a singer, is a singer, was a singer, is a singer. I'm like, I know you are not talking about Kay Michelle's career, Drew. I know you are not when you are also a singer. Kay Michelle currently has a record deal. Kay Michelle is crossing genres in music. Kay Michelle has had hits. The sold out shows, Grammy nominated. Hey, you even like you can do that with Shamia. You can't do that with Kay Michelle. That's what I was like, what? I can't believe she even said that. Like odd. We all know who Kay Michelle is. I did not know who Drew Sidor was before Housewives. Odd. But it is that's like the the nicest way that I can say it. And there's just like parts of me. Want Drew to be a part of the cast, like I would make no changes. But I I can't deal with the dramatization of everything. The exact. It's just I don't understand how she and Angela are actually as cool as they are. Yeah, because they seem very different in the in the personality. It just seems like Drew's put the lights camera on. She is putting on a show because at Bravo Khan in person, she did not act like that at all. Now, I loved her on stage, right? Thank you for letting the whole panel go viral. But it hurt that off camera, she was lovely. Lovely. None of that energy that we see in confessionals. So I guess it's just she's an actress. I guess it's the character that she's playing. How do you feel about Shamiya speaking of over the top? It's it's getting worse. It's getting I think, unfortunately, because I really like Shamiya and I really wanted to be on the show. But I feel and I wonder, I don't know, I feel like I understand more and more why Portia did not want her on the show. And not because she wanted the show for her own thing, because like, unfortunately for Shamiya, whether you like it or not, Portia is incredibly digestible. Like we all want some Portia. And she don't have to try too hard for us to like her. Not. And Shamiya obviously has like has won in like the money and all that lifestyle. But I would rather watch Portia any day of the week. And Shamiya just seems like she wants it so badly. Yeah. When Shamiya I was excited about Shamiya becoming a housewife. When Shamiya first started, like that first episode, we got our house. So I was OK. But then when she started falling out of Portia and it was when Portia said when they sit down at that dinner last season, Portia's like, and it was so sincere. She's like, why are you doing this? Yeah, it was there was a confusion. Like, yeah. What are you doing that? I was like, oh, some she's performing. I just yeah, it feels that way now. Right. Yes, it's worse. It's worse. And the fact that she and Kelly, your best friends and Kelly feels like she's always performing. I just I'm like something. I just hate it because I really like them as friends. And this part did make me laugh. But even this part, I was like, everything is a performance. And she was like, that text message said. Yeah. Yeah. I was just like, OK. What? You know what? And this is what you know, I say. I don't know what show it is, because there's a show that did this. And I feel like it was a scripted show. Somebody finds you funny the first season and it's natural. And then the second season, they you become a character of the character. Because you want it. So you want you want to like lean into that someone. Oh, you know, who did that, Bryn? Bryn from House from New York. Yes. And we just really got to know Bryn better. Yeah. But yes, like people like her thought she was funny and quirky. And then the entire second season, she was over the top. Leaning into the jokes that like worked well on the first season. And it's like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. We don't want you to like try to be what you think we like. We want you to be yourself, which has some elements that we like. Yes, exactly. You're right. Bryn's perfect, perfect example of it. And I think she she was mean a lot last season. So she came in trying to be a mean again. And it's like, stop, stop. Stop. Um, I'm trying to think anything else. Nothing really crazy. I can already tell who's just you can see where the alliances are. You can see, I can't really tell where things are going, but I'm like, OK, you two are grouped up. You guys are definitely cliques. But I when they gathered around after they left the dinner table at Portia's. I was like, I'm so ready. I'm so I'm really excited, really excited, good additions. Everyone's still crazy. Like Angela talking about the Hawks game and Phaedra saying she pulled the footage. And I think it was Kelly. Kelly being like, you pulled the footage. How did you? How did you get footage from the Atlanta Hawks? And how did you get audio? And then the producer being like, do you have the footage? And Phaedra's like. No, but I did ask them to look into it. Like, I don't. But if you're not watching Atlanta, you need to be watching Atlanta. Oh, my gosh. The the previews for next week and Phage are talking about Portia with her. What's her girlfriend's name? Slay. Slay. Slay. I was going to say Shay. It might be. No, I think it's. Fly. Slay. Slay. We are. Who's closer to. Guy. No, it's not. Sky. Sky. No, no, no. Isn't Sky the girl that was dating? Oh, Mimi. Yeah, Mimi. It's Sway. Gosh, we were. We danced all around it. Slay. Shay. Sky. It's Sway. It's a way. Sway. The previews for next week. We meet Sway and. Phage is confessionals. I I'm just not sure if there's a better person in confessionals. She's pretty good too, which having two people in one show is amazing. Who would I don't even know who else put on that list. Of good confessionals. Yeah. Karen was Karen is good. Can you? Yeah, Karen had Karen has good confessionals. Oh, I think Bronwyn has good confessionals. And Bronwyn has good confessionals. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And others and others who think they do, but no, no, no, no. That's a that's a solid list. Solid list. OK. Real Housewives of Rhode Island. OK, so last week we were talking about it, which totally tapped him. But last week and you were saying you were confused on who's who. Yeah, I was like, yeah, but I was like, I think I got it. Uh oh. Oh, I'm the opposite. I'm like, I got it now. I got it. I'm lost. I think they all look the same brown hair. I was like, this is too much. Half them look like Dolores. It was a lot. Now I'm like, all right, I know who's who. I'm in a much better place. I can figure out what's going on. This they they I really do think they hit like jackpot with the show. I really think they did. And I think they learned. From. The reboot of New York with casting and kind of like has been able. I feel like that was just like, have they rebooted any of the show? No, that's the only Housewives that's been fully rebooted, right? I feel like they took those learnings and figured out, OK, these are the characters they like, also not having any East Coast Housewives, which I think you pointed out last show. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And we're like, let's lean into this. And them having such deep history with each other. Like incredible casting. It's it's great. I will say, technically, I guess Miami's a reboot. Maybe the closest thing. It had to feel some of the same people on it. Like New York was the only complete full one, right? You are correct. You are correct. I think the lesson needs to be because you know what we we say, I would want or at least I'm like, I would want to be in casting because it seems like everybody is a super fan of the show. So it's like they either know they're well first in being a Housewife or they're trying to be somebody that they're not. And what's great about this is you found a place. So what a Salt Lake, even though bigger city, we're not as familiar with. We don't know the culture. We don't know how everybody's connected or knows everybody, but it's gold because of that. So moving forward, I get the allure of the big city. And we've done that. We're New York, we're Beverly Hills, we're Atlanta. We're actually Potomac. I could put on that list, Potomac is a smaller is a smaller city that we don't really know about. That's the key. And they and they have found that with Rhode Island. Now, I'm there's no I think a fuse. Last time I had it. Liz and Alicia. And I'm still even bringing Dolores back because there were times I saw Dolores this season, this episode, Dolores was there. I'm sorry. And then even Rula, she kind of I know her in a different way because she was new this episode. But yeah, confused. Even the story lines are starting to confuse me. I'm like, wait, so you're having a fair. But then there's something weird with. Liz or Alicia with this is what I have. Not Dina. She does look like Dina. No, Dina. Alicia, Alicia looks like Dina from Jersey. Dina, as I said, ma'am, we need. What's the sheet that they have when you do the red carpet? We need. I need that block. I need so I can point. Liz is this. This is this. Tell me if I have any of this wrong, but this is what I have. Joe, Ellen. No, no, no, no. As the mean girl of Rhode Island, I think she is going to be an excellent housewife. She took her sister's ex-boyfriend from high school. And that's who she is currently married to. She did once have an affair with the dentist and then eventually the dentist's wife. People, there have been rumors that she is a swinger, but she said this episode. She is not one, but she has had a threesome once. Um, so that's Joe Ellen. Then we have Ashley I. She's an easy one. Yeah. Former former bachelor contestant is known for crying an enormous amount. Is married to Jared, who has, I don't know what the name of the coffee shop is, but a coffee shop. Then we have Alicia, who got engaged nine years ago and still isn't married. But lives with her fiance and has kids with her, with her fiance. Then we have Rula, who, oh my God, Rula really, she was amazing this week. Rula's husband is having an affair with Blonde and Joe Ellen saw them to picture or was sent pictures of them and sent the pictures to Joe Ellen because she asked for, I mean, Joe Ellen sent the pictures to Rula because she asked for them. And Rula is now pissed because Joe Ellen's still going around saying that it's still happening and Rula's like, that was last summer. We're good now. And, uh, Dolores clone Liz is like, you're not good, ma. You're not good. It's still happening. Liz is Dolores's clone. She's the OG of Rhode Island and heard her husband might be like third or fourth cousins and she didn't have kids, but she adopted her husband's kids or not adopted. What's that called? Took in her husband's kids. Um, when they were like eight or nine years old. Um, is she the grandmother? She's a grandmother. She's about to be, is she about to be the grandmother? Probably. Yeah. Cause the kids are older. Okay. Um, then there's Rosie, who's the news anchor whose husband is a Frank Sinatra singer. Singer. Yeah. There's not much there other than she really wants to be friends with these people, it seems. Who am I missing? But she's a busy body. She's such a busy body with it though. Kelsey, Kelsey, Kelsey. Last but not least. Who's Kelsey? Oh God. The woman who admit the woman who has a boyfriend seven months of the year. Who has a boyfriend seven months of the year in Miami. He has a girlfriend. By the way, I found pictures of the girlfriend. They look identical. They look so much like her and Kelsey. So then you found the man. Who's the man? Yes. I found the man. I don't know what he does, but his dad is a very well known judge in Rhode Island and has gone viral a lot because he's very kind. And there's been like videos of him where he's like super, super nice. Um, passed away. No. The judge. I don't think so. Is he dead? There's, if this is the judge I'm thinking of that's gone viral and nice. Yes. He has gone by. Well, I don't know if it's there might be more than one judge that hopefully there is more, more than one judge that's nice. But yeah, he's a very, very well known judge in Rhode Island. I'm not sure what the sun does, but I've seen pictures of the sun now. Um, and she's also able to do whatever she wants. So she's also dating somebody else. Well, that's what I was threw me off this episode. I thought, I know you can do whatever you want. I did not know that meant you can have a relationship publicly date somebody else. Yeah. And, and, and honestly, she should be able to, but I just totally, but usually these, yeah, the situations are not normally set up this way. Usually the man is able to do whatever. It's a Monopoly. I think that's what it's called where only one person gets to be polyamorous and the other person has to be monogamous. But this setup to me is much better for her. It is except that she wants a full time relationship. Yeah. Yeah. If you were that guy, though, the other guy, are you going to that guy's house? I think he's fine. He probably has another girlfriend. Like they're probably all I assume. So I'm just like, how does that work? Is she only going to your house? Like, because you can only be with her half the year. Yeah. You can't be her boyfriend the other at the other time. But like, I don't know, these men are built different these days. So I'm sure he's, he's got, he's happy to roll, bring a bag in and set up shop. Probably telling people this is my Rhode Island house during the winter, the summer or whatever they're going to be. Like, um, Porsche's boyfriend on this episode. Welcome to our, welcome to our party. AKA Ralph in the basement. Like there's no way Rafa's still in that basement. No way. We didn't even get footage of go see your dad. I'm like, isn't that two years old? Are we, we didn't even hear Ralph's name this episode, right? Of Ellen. Well, she didn't say it, but she was like, I still have somebody in the basement. Oh, she does. That's what I'm saying. The footage was from, was old. Yeah. I didn't know he was still there. I was a Mr. saying that. According to two how he's still there. Isn't life grande and making it better just got easier with Starbucks new protein cold foam, a little something, something to take your favorite drinks up a notch with 15 grams of extra protein. Turn your usual iced caramel latte into a smooth iced caramel protein latte. Add a delicious swale on top of your drink. Just like that. Protein never tasted so good with Starbucks new protein cold foam subject to availability while stocks last. Thank you so much for breaking that down. If I could give you an award for that, I would. And I'm and I am sure the viewers of listeners appreciate how player to mess it up. But so let's say so. I don't know any better because I got I was shocked. I was like, I was bragging a Cali. I had it down the first episode. And now I did not the first episode, but I felt very good about this one. But there's been so much info about these women that it's coming out about shady dealings and affairs and other people. And some of that comes out this episode. And with almost said. Dolores Dolores is twin is Liz. Because sorry, guys, I'm sorry. I think it's Liz. It's Rula talking to Liz when she's like, you know, is she talking to Alicia or Liz when she's like, you know what it's like? You had issues in your relationship. You talking. Yeah, it's Rula talking to Liz. And she's like, you had issues. And so I guess she she did with with with Jerry. I believe that's her husband at the time. And but it's not Jerry. It's that too. It's that she was apparently dating someone. And that's who there are rumors about. Also off camera that apparently it's still going. They're very close and she all but admits it. She's like, well, we were emotionally together. We were always around each other. He's like family. He would be over there all the time. And I'm like, just say you had an affair. Yeah. And then she's like, she's like, we did everything. But she didn't say it like that. But that's like just I got of it. It seemed like she was basically like for sure had an emotional affair at the very least. And this is what all these women are in relationships. And none of them are. What? Like traditional, the tradition, everybody's relationship. I mean, Ashley says and Rosie seems to be. But I guess like each relationship is different. And I loved. I feel like Ashley's the only one that has like a pretty. I mean, Rosie's one year and so I'm just like, we'll see. Ashley's the only one that seemed like actually being the most normal on this show is crazy. Yeah. And even when they're all fighting and. I don't know. I think Rosie was trying to say that Joe Ellen is the one that brought up Kelsey's situation. And they're like going back and forth. And they were like, Ashley, did she? And Ashley was like, no, I mean, did she bring up? Like she said that you maybe were going through something, but like never brought up your relationship. Like Ashley's like, I'm not about to play into this. I will. I will tell the truth. But they kind of need that. Like I would never in a million years, if you ask me, who would end up on a real housewives from the bachelor franchise, what I have thought, Ashley. I would have said her. You would? Yeah. I mean, I would say that she would want it. I just can't picture her. Yeah, I couldn't picture her personality on it. And she fits right in with this group of women, for sure. Another another franchise, no. But to your point, yeah, she's the voice of reason. It's great. But I loved the episode where she's at the park with Joe Ellen and her babies crying and she's crying and the babies crying and she's crying. And I was like, she's like, I'm sorry, I should be crying. This is hilarious. I like more, give us more, more to come. So as much as she's the voice of reason in the group, she's still got her own shit. Yeah, she absolutely has her own stuff. And I'm like, and I love it. Give us more. The fact that we're two episodes in and we just talked about like 19 different affairs and swinging and multiple boyfriends and all the above. I mean, who asked the question? Alicia, because they did that stupid question game, which is such a great game, but it's dumb. Like anyone who's actually friends would never play that game. And to like even show how close these women are, like are intertwined, like with history, the fact that one of them was like, did you ever sleep with my husband? And she was like, no, never. I never fucked Gary. I'm just like, I can't imagine being like, oh, I can ask my friend anything. I would love to know if she ever slept with my husband. But it's like something about that. He's he's doing more than rubbing feet. Who wants cheese? I think that was Alicia. Alicia was like, he says he's a foot doctor, but he's doing more than rubbing feet. You want cheese? I was like, what? It's a normal conversation. I know. No one laughed when she said that. I would have been like, can you imagine being like, wait, it's like, can we rewind that for a second? Because this is how they talk to each other and you're right. We've talked about 19 different affairs and I guarantee you, we just missed something, but for sure, keep it coming. Keep it coming. Can I wait for episode three, which is on Sundays for everyone else confused because I was confused. Yes, which means coming up very soon. Speaking of missing things, just to touch on Summerhouse before we get out of here. It's the last thing I watch on my list. I know. Isn't that really sad? The thrill is gone. It's gone. Through is gone. I think Weston Amanda obviously made a mistake. Multiple times, but them fucking up my Summerhouse when this was such a great season is top two for me. Yeah. It's I mean, like you put Sierra and her knees first, but second, is it true to the best of the show? When I was watching this episode, like any time either of them say anything, I'm just like, I will say that this is really making me just like Kyle Carl. Sorry. I unfortunately do like Kyle more too. Because I'm like, maybe he just saw the whole time that Amanda sucks. And I think she does suck. And I know she's getting a lot of hate right now and everyone's like, it's too much. It's too much. I mean, you go through it. It's like you say, how about you go? You let your best friend do that with someone and then you come back. You circle back. I still think that's awful. I know. I mean, this is the thing he is, but. He may have been right. But here's the thing. And I thought about this as I was watching this episode as much as he may have been right, or we watched this and were like, man, Kyle might have been feeling something or there were things he might have saw that he didn't want to admit. Or maybe Kyle's not as much as bad as we thought. And then he has the conversation with Carl. And I said, no, God, that was horrible. No, Kyle. His conversation with West was worse. The fact that West was like, hey, you forgot his the passing of his of his brother. And Kyle was like, God, man, I just had so much laundry. What? I said, Kyle is pretty awful. And West was like, don't don't mention the laundry. Not making West like a hero. Yeah, maybe not mention the laundry. And then poor Carl is pouring it out. And he goes, I know you do a lot of cool stuff and you don't invite me. I know the lack of self-awareness. Kyle should be studying. It's it's it's becoming an art at this point. It's becoming an art. What? Just I know he's going to get it. Even the fact that West told you this conversation happened and Carl still had to be the one to bring you over. And he's like, yeah, West kind of let me in. So I know. Did you see how West was dressed at Puppet? Like a Y in. I'm not going to say who. But someone that knows him like DM'd me and was like, wow, Frodo. Frodo like something something Frodo. And I was like, ha ha. And I was like, well, she did say that he dresses like a Y in. That's like kind of a compliment. Oh, they were mad at me. No, no, no, they weren't mad. They were just like it was kind of like, you know, when someone like says something like if someone says like, oh, I heard you said this, but it was about someone you know, you know what I mean? So I was just like, well, it was kind of a compliment, but he thought it was funny. Um, I iconic line. Oh, thank you. Shirley did have a bandana draped underneath a hat. I thought. Thank you. To go golfing. To go golfing. To go golfing. Um, what else happens? And then to me, that was that was the thing. I love hearing more about Mia and Sierra and like their lives. The problem is, is the episode can't just be that, but like, I'm happy that they're giving us like a little bit more of like who they actually are. Yeah, Mia is great. She's good TV, but like a natural. Yeah, but she has that like she's funny. She talks about she's vulnerable. We got to meet her, I think it's her ex-boyfriend, but her boyfriend, ex-boyfriend this week, um, which I thought that was funny. He had no idea who anyone was and what was going on. And when Lindsay mentioned her ex-fiance twice in a 30 second speech about her new house, he was like, who's who's Carl? He was like giggling with them in the back. He was having a time. Like what is going on? The speech was insane. Why are you mentioning Carl twice? How much do you think that apartment is a month? People keep talking about that apartment. That it kept going. 30. That apartment is huge. I heard. I wonder how many bedrooms it is. No, no, no, it's more than 13. Has to be more than 13. It looks more than 13. Well, also, I guess it depends on where it is. That's a big. She's getting and she's getting maybe she's been 13 and it is 20. Yeah. But like if you can make 20 a month by. If you can. If you can make 20 a month, you should be by. It's at least 20. Jesse went on this show. I don't know what show you went on, but some show he's talking about is right. He pays 11. Hers is at least 20. Jesse pays 11, which I guess is like. It's it's New York. But if if you were paying 20 a month, as beautiful as that apartment was, I actually don't look at that as a flex. Because I don't think you're spending your money the way that you should. It's great that you can. But that is 20 a month is a waste to me. If you can afford that, you need to be by. I agree as someone who has definitely paid at least $20,000 a month in rent. But that was me knowing I'm only going to be here for a short. Like, yeah, like I'm not living here forever. Totally different. I think the problem in this show is that it's not just about money. I think the problem in New York is if you're paying 20 a month, your apartment is pretty nice, which is crazy to say. But from looking at me, well, obviously I live in New York, but when I went to go look and I had one budget and I went and looked in that budget and I was like, this ain't gonna work. Like it's just crazy how expensive New York is. So I would say 20 is pretty nice, especially if it's not like four bedrooms. Like if it's a two, three bedroom, you can you can get a pretty nice apartment depending on where you are. If you bought it ain't going to look like a $20,000 a month apartment. It's going to look like a $7,000 a month apartment. That's the problem. Yeah. And I know which again, it's so much money. Don't live in New York or LA prices aren't even that, but it's like most people don't and it's like, that's insane. That's crazy. But it's like, that is what it is in the city. I was looking, I was like auditioning for something. And if I got it, this is a few years ago, I would have to move to New York. And so I was like, Oh, well, this is not many bedrooms I have in my house. This is this. Like let me, I was like, I want to, you know, like just a quick thing. I was like, I want a dorm and I want this. Let me see what it is. It was like, nothing is available. That doesn't exist. You have to go to New York and basically find it and be with a realtor. Like whatever you're trying to do, it doesn't exist because it is so out of this price range that you made for yourself. It doesn't exist. Like try, excuse me. Sorry. Try again. It's so much more expensive than you think. And you know what I also felt as I was watching beautiful apartment. Don't want to take Lindsay. It's awesome. You can. Yeah. But as I was watching it, I was like, no wonder you're so pissed. About what's happening with the drama. Now the rumor is that it was, they were never going to be on both shows, right? The goal was to move the Lindsay. Kyle and Amanda. Kyle and Amanda to the, in the city, which we got the trailer and we'll discuss that on Tuesday, but because I know several people on the show and I'm so happy it's out tonight. I can talk about that. But I was like, you're still probably pissed because you don't know if this is going to mess up your new show. And if you're living in an apartment that nice, your brand deals and your influencing are tied to you being on television. Oh, a hundred percent. I should, she knows that. I feel like she's pretty open about that. Yeah. So it's like you're messing with like the self right now. I'm not saying, and I'm not saying she's not there for Sierra and a friendship, like please don't misread what I'm saying. It's like a personal level. I mean, there's a lot of layers. Yeah, there's a lot of layers of what happens when I saw the apartment. I said, I'd be pissed. I'd be livid. Me too. But in the city looks great and it doesn't seem too reliant on Kyle and Amanda. So you're going to be fine as long as the season goes good. You got some big characters that are coming in. I think it'll be fine with or without Kyle and Amanda. That's what I'll say. A lot of people have opinions about that trailer. A lot of people were, a lot of people were like, oh, I thought it looks so good. I'm so excited. It looks like the Valley, like, but New York, which is what they're going for. Right. Yeah. But on threads, there was a lot of you did a whole city on New York. Where the black women. Yeah. A lot of that. Or a whole show on the city of New York and they're like, where the black women. But. I'm not in this friend group. They're not. At least maybe not a couple. They want couples or so. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Maybe it's just like not a couple, which is a deeper discussion. I think that's a whole, I mean, yeah, I also think that's like a hole in Bravo programming. You could have such a good show with like a group of black women in New York or even not even just black, like black and brown. I feel like. Yeah. Yeah. But. Well, people, a lot of people too were like, where are Simon and Jasmine? They could have been a part of this. People thought that's that, that they were going to. But I think they're friends. They're more friends like Carl. Yeah, there's, I don't think they're in the friend group, which I feel like Carl should be on the show. But haven't we seen you guys stretch it before? Haven't we seen you guys exaggerate relationships to create a show? Isn't that what probably the reboot of Roni's going to be? This, this, this third one. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I just feel like Carl can't be on the show. Why? Because it's about even though Lindsay's on it, she's a baby. It's it's literally about people in the next phase of there. I know, but I feel like he's going to the next phase. He has a that he has the new soft bar. Like, I feel like they could have done that and then brought in Jasmine and what's his name? Simon. Simon. Although I'm fine without having them, but like also Carl's friends with that other guy and Martha's vineyard. Am I my Carl's friends with everybody? I mean, everyone seems to really like Carl. He has. I guess he was. He went through a lot and we saw a lot, but he has pulled his little self together. I can see why everybody loves Carl. Yeah. And he's not a mess. He did a book tour stop in Phoenix and he went through this whole monologue about how hard everything's been, but that he is not a mess. But he said he did cry on the phone with Kyle, but he was just like, I just feel like so badly for like so many people. Like I talked to Sierra, I talked to Kyle, I talked to Amanda. He did not mention West once. He kept saying those three names and never said West's name. Well, there was one of those rumor mail posts, which I said I was going to hop out of it, but since you said this, that said West hasn't talked to anybody in the group and he's again, he talked to somebody. He talked to TMZ. I don't know if you saw that whole post. Did you see that? No. It was like a source tells us that West and Amanda are doing great and that Amanda is unbothered and West has been there for her behind the scenes. And behind the scenes. And they're so in love. I'm like, who gave us TMZ? West? Yeah, he's there because everyone's like, he's out and about. Oh, it also says that it says him and Amanda are doing great despite all the online rumors. She knows that West was never with anybody else. It's like it says something along those lines. Yeah. Oh, I was like, who gave this to TMZ? Can West pay for it? Another joint statement. Another joint statement to TMZ. It was so weird because also I'm like, Kyle said that Amanda is on the verge of like destruction. So like this is complete opposite of everything we've seen. I believe Kyle. And then there was like, well, yeah. And the one thing Amanda is not is unbothered. She is constantly like on high anxiety. Um, well, as we see in this episode, she centers, there's like, it's almost if she can't ask her learning more about her behavior. It's almost as if she can't see people happy and she has to center herself within it. And because she's not happy with stuff. I mean, at least I can't spit during West. We'll find out soon, but I can speak to at least her and Kyle relationship with Kyle, which it's shocking to me that they had not done couples therapy. Yeah. I'm like, how have we gone this long and not done couples therapy? Doesn't that say it all? Doesn't that say it all that you have not? I was married for four years with someone for almost seven. And we had done couples therapy two years before we got a divorce almost two years. Well, a year, a little over a year, actually. I'm a year and a half. So like neither one of you are trying. No, they're not in it that hard to work on it. But the been of it all with Amanda and Amanda saying that, which I totally believe. And why does everybody make it seem like it's weird that Ben's girl, Ben's girl knows that Amanda about Amanda and Kyle. Why would he not be pillow talking with his girl about their relationship, about the friends he's in the house with and their relationship? That is normal. I think Jesse said it out loud. He probably wasn't supposed to. By the way, Jesse's Jesse has come across very well the last couple of episodes. So he can thank West for that as well, because people are now turning on because people have turned on West and Jesse has been right about a few things. It changes the way he's looked this season. But I Jesse, I feel like people are like, why did he pretend to be single? He was clearly in a relationship the whole time. I think that's why they're like, that's what he did come out and say that. He said that they know. No, no, no, he had Ben hasn't. But Jesse kind of like alluded to it. And I think that's what everyone's thinking, because they're like, he was acting like he was fully single. But somehow, you know, everything about everything like y'all have been talking. Yeah, yeah, that's that's a good point. That's a good point. It's not why everyone's acting like weird. Well, not Amanda. Amanda was like, why is this? Why do you know everything about like, why are you talking to me like that? Like whatever. I think your point, your point. I thought why would you say that someone's girlfriend? Because you're centering. Oh, now Ben is she liked that. The attention. Leigh said that at the table. She liked that everybody thought Ben wanted to fuck her. She loved those things. And now it's like, no, here's a woman that Ben is basically saying I'm I'm in love with. And she's like, well, just so you know. And if he did have a girlfriend the whole time, she ain't going to like this. She would not like this episode as we saw a playback of how he was talking to Darah. Yeah, he was definitely flirting. And and now we know he was down playing it. And now we know why. So your point about it, which Darah called it the whole time. There was like, don't act like it wasn't nothing. We was definitely flirting. But like it was nothing happened. But like, don't act like you weren't interested. You were. She and KJ are such a beautiful couple. I love Darah and I love KJ and Darah. Beautiful couple, beautiful gals. Yeah. Not excited about next week, though, because I'm just like so annoyed with everything with summer house. Yeah. I'm annoyed too. I don't do I hate I hate that this is how we're going to have to because we're only in August is what the times you gave us. So we got to get to Labor Day. Wait, oh, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. In the time in the show. Labor Day weekend is always the last one. So we have a few more weeks left, but. Ah, until then. But all right, guys, that is it for us here on morally corrupt. We will see you guys Tuesday and we have a lot of news to talk about, including in the city, which we kind of teased just now. But you guys have a safe weekend and we will talk to you soon. Bye. Yeah.
