The Ebro, Laura, Rosenberg Show discusses Don Lemon's controversial church livestream during an ICE agent protest, Nicki Minaj's homophobic response, geopolitical tensions over Greenland, and media literacy in the age of algorithmic information. The hosts also announce new Patreon and merchandise initiatives.
Insights
- Protest tactics that disrupt religious services raise legitimate questions about activism decorum, even when the cause is just—civil disobedience historically involves breaking laws but targeting spaces of worship may alienate potential allies
- The Trump administration's use of the 1871 KKK Act against a Black journalist signals a weaponization of civil rights law for political purposes, inverting its original intent to protect marginalized communities
- Media fragmentation and algorithmic curation have eroded shared truth standards; Ground News and similar tools attempt to solve bias through transparency, but may inadvertently reinforce tribal thinking by color-coding sources
- U.S. alliances with Europe and Canada are deteriorating due to perceived unreliability and unpredictability in leadership, forcing traditional allies to renegotiate security and trade relationships independently
- Celebrity political engagement increasingly weaponizes personal attacks and family history rather than engaging substantive policy disagreements, as seen in the Lemon-Minaj exchange

Don't call it a podcast. Oh, listen to that. A little vibe. Eat bro, Laura Rosenberg show. We are on. Oh, I like this. Welcome to the program. That's right. Laura is chomping at the bit to get to this Don Lemon. Hold on, Laura. Hold on. We need room. You got to let it brief. So we're going to get to that today. Yo, Rosenberg, we got to come in hot for Bill's fans. This is one thing after another. ESPN's own Rosenberg. So they fired the head coach. Yeah, but that wasn't surprising if they didn't go in. You know, if they had lost in the first or second round, I think everyone kind of expected that McDermott would be out. But it does feel extra nasty because like, you know, they, he fought for the team and afterwards he was defending them. But the fact of the matter is you didn't win. Not only did not win, they made a ton of mistakes in that game too. And come on, man. At a certain point, you have the guy who might be the best quarterback in the world. He's right there. And this is like six straight years of the same thing. He bro, this is the guy who basically like my homes. He can kind of will your team pretty far. Well, here's the thing. Here's the thing, guys. If you've been a Bill's fan long enough, Laura Stiles, check this. This head coach and this team has gone through the bills have already gone through in the 90s. So why are they acting brand new? This is what the bills do. You're going to fire him for just being who y'all are, man. Come on, man. That's not right. That's not right. Think about it. And the last one, the one from the 80s, Marv Levy was an absolute legend. But you can't lose four Super Bowls in a row. You eventually have to win one. And that's right. Yeah. Listen, I look at it like this for Josh Allen, though. I mean, his, his wife is Hailey Steinfeld, the woman you may know from centers, if nothing else, pregnant with his baby. I know. He's going to be cool, man. Josh Allen is cool. But he was crying that day. But he doesn't show up to work every day, every week to get out there and lose. So we all, we always us mere mortals talk about what somebody's got going on at home, but you don't show up and get you, you know, run up against 275 pounds, six foot five dudes getting slung around the field and shoving your head between the legs of another 300 pounder to get a few yards just to come up short. I know. And then we pretend when someone has a famous hot wife, like he doesn't get home and have her go and Josh, can you blah, blah, blah. He's like, hi honey. Can you take out the trash? I kind of wish I was getting hit by these 300 pounds right now. Yeah, man. Yo, man. Now, in Washington, DC, couple of things we got to touch on before we get too far to the show. Somebody has put up the giant rendition of the Epstein Trump birthday card, a giant version of it. What you mean? You guys seen this? No. Yes. Yes. You heard me correct. Giant Epstein or Trump to Epstein birthday card in Washington, DC. I think I heard this was happening. So what is it? Is it like a projector? Oh, it's a statue. Well, not a statue, but, you know, like a, like an installation. An art installation. No, it's big, Laura. You got to see. I mean, guys, what happened to the Epstein files all of a sudden? Ah, we're invading. We're still in Greenland invading Venezuela and bombing Nigeria. Yo, did y'all forget that we bomb Nigeria? I think most people just didn't know. So forgetting isn't even on the table. I saw. Yeah. We dropped a bomb in Nigeria. That happened a couple of weeks, just a couple of weeks ago. Um, Rassan or Griff, I think we need a picture for this next little piece. I'm going to throw out. Um, did you guys see the letter on White House letterhead that was written to Denmark for the reason that we need and deserve to have Greenland? My God, you mean though I'm done with peace because you didn't give me a peace prize. That one. Did you see the letter? I read it. I read it quickly too. Hit the button, man. Yeah, it's like a 12 year old is like stomping his feet. You didn't give me the Nobel Peace Prize. So we're taking green place yourself. We're so ridiculous. Are you guys, are you guys embarrassed yet? Oh, Ben, wait, I don't think he's asking you Laura. He knows, he knows, he knows. I didn't get reported just nonsense. Are you guys embarrassed? Are we embarrassed? No, is it great again? That's my question. Is it great? Are you sensing great yet? Because saying I didn't get the peace prize. I don't really feel like I need to choose peace is I'd like to choose peace, but I don't have to anymore. Yo, he literally Laura negotiates like a five year old. I know. Quote, quote, quote, there are no written documents and it's only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats land there also. My mom said that even though it was yours, it's actually both of ours because I had told you about it first anyway. So I, we should keep it at my house. He's literally a five year old. That is that's five year old logic right there. So then based on that logic though, by the way, guess who landed in, in what we call now the United States a long time before the pilgrims. Who's that? Africans. Long time, long time. Oh, by the way, and after that, guess who landed here? The Vikings, where are they from Norway? Could Norwegians pull up and just claim the United States based on that logic? Sure. Sure. Well, listen, he bro, he didn't say he's taking it. Okay. He just said like, you know, I could. United States already has pretty much carte blanche in Greenland, bro. No, I know. I'm aware. Did you see the text message exchange with him in Denmark too? I did not. No, I didn't see that. So he texted, he texted with them too. It was more of the same, you know, them trying to be reasonable and him trying to turn up and act like he's been disrespected. And again, the people in Denmark and are just like, we don't understand what problems you have. And now we're going to be faced with as the rest of Europe sort of looks into this whole thing. What we're going to be faced with is, and this started already guys at the beginning of his term, but like, are we really going to get to a point where the relationship that the US has had with Europe for 80 years? Is that really on the verge of being over? Well, this is where you hit the button. There's so many places to hit the button though. No, no, no, no, but you hit it there because we talked about this in the beginning of his term, as you just pointed out, we talked about the reality that now the world does not trust our voting population to vote in somebody who is capable of maintaining relationships, capable of honoring treaties, capable of having some sort of decorum. And that's why yesterday, the Canadian Prime Minister is talking about a new world order as he meets with Xi Jinping in China. What does that mean a new world order? That means that the order of operations where Canada is working alongside its allies like the United States and how they set up deals with the rest of the world. That's right, our neighbor to the north, they're reworking those deals. Because this is because we're obviously not going to be the same person we were. That's right. Or this, you know, the same ally that we were. So that's all be rethought. Well, also remember, we started hearing headlines that Europe was just reestablishing military in ways that they European nations in the UK and the European Union reestablishing militaristic, you know, operations in ways that they hadn't in decades because we can't be trusted. And the worst part about it is, is that our military is so strong that really nobody can do anything that would make the US want to rethink anything. Well, we get told that, but I have a sneaky feeling that China has something to say. Sure, sure. That means that the strong military not. And I don't want to find out. Yeah, no, I mean, in Europe, you're right, China could certainly have a conversation that you wouldn't want to find out the answer to. But Europe, you know, and this is all this country respects as Stephen Miller laid out is military might. That's what makes us a country. It's not our ideas. It's not freedom. The whole thing that you sold us, it's military might. Who has the nukes? That's right. Who has the most new who can, who can turn the planet into more of a crispy barbecue. We can, we can, but we can fry up the whole planet. That's what makes us powerful. Are you guys in hip hop? There's a little dust up took places. You guys see this story fat Joe and French Montana have a some sort of tense exchange over publishing. I saw, but that's a salacious headline, bro. I saw the clip. It really was not tense at all. They were just French was just explaining how like when Joe called them up to be on all the way up. He was like, of course my brother got me. He went did it blew up. And then one day when they were performing, he was just like, Hey, I spoke to my lawyer. I'm not receiving any royalties from this. And that Joe was like, okay, hold on. Called his people and gave him well Joe claims 10% and then French was maybe five and Joe's like 10. And they just like laughed about wait French negotiated himself down. No, no, no Joe would negotiated French up. No, Joe claimed that he got 10% of the publishing. And then French is like, maybe fine. Oh, okay. And then Joe's like that's it. And they just all start laughing. So that that's what it was. So it wasn't like a tense exchange. No, that headline on hip hop. Change, because you know, I went to look. I'm like tense exchange. They're friends. Let me see. And I was like saying that. Yeah. And French, let me tell you something. French Montana does not have tense exchanges. Yeah. He's like Bob Dylan. French has become the Bob Dylan of hip hop. Wait, wait, wait. You're making it sound like French can't speak coherently is what you say. I'm not saying he can't speak coherently. I'm saying his vibe is more. I'll be I'm gonna see French and Max today at Apple Music. And you're gonna see the vibe. I'm gonna catch the vibes. I'm gonna celebrate that new project. I like a lot. Joe, I'm glad they're squeezing you in because I thought the next stop they're showing is the showing up as the U.S. Post Office. French and Max have been outside. I mean, they have to. Yeah, they have to. Promotion, man. Big promotion. When we when we when our plans start, we got to bring them in for a chat. Well, yeah, we're gonna sell. You know, the the the the project I really like. I think it's too many songs on it, but there's things I really like on it. I was pleasantly surprised. And and and on that note, I sat speaking of pleasantly surprised. ASAP Rocky. I sat with yesterday. Oh, nice. Yeah. I sat with him at Apple Music yesterday. And man, did he have a lot to say? Oh, yeah. I mean, about his relationship with Rihanna and just kind of like how great it is about, you know, where is it? Where is it? Where's the convo? It's coming out tomorrow. Laura Stiles. I need that early. I need that early. I need to see. I need to see. I need to see. Only if you're gonna showcase it in the rundown. Yes. That's why I need it. Because I'll get I get snubbed by this show a lot. No. That's what I'm telling you. You got to send it to me. Have your team call my team. Wait, it says here. Rossan says, did you tell him he disappointed Rosenberg? What's that about? By doing an academics interview. But why? What is that? Why? And why are you bringing that up? What is that? Yeah. He let Nas down because he let P down. Why is that a let down? What are you talking about? Stop, stop, stop. Don't do this. I don't like the rhetorical game you play. No, I don't. But why would he not do an academic interview? Because smart, good musicians should go places where you can have smart, good music conversation. Oh, right, right, right, right, right. I thought you were honestly, honestly, I thought you were talking about like maybe they had a problem or something, man. No, no, I just meant like, is the crowd, is the crowd who watches academics? Because they have a lot of eyeballs. Are they really digging into, like, I'm going to get into this album and hear about the music? That's not going to do it. That's all I'm saying. A lot of people, one of the things I spent a lot of time talking to him about was that I don't believe most people paid attention close enough to Rocky albums of the past. To hear a song like punk Rocky come out and be like, yo, he's trying a new style. I was like, no, no, no, no, he's always experimented. He's always had some rocky kind of rock influenced, trap leaning melodic. It's all out. It's been about a vibe and aesthetic. He's been digging for an entire song. Absolutely. Okay, but who would now throw it back at you? But who are you talking about? Why are we surprised? Let me guess, Yo-Yo's on the Internet? Well, just how people are covering the album. It wasn't even Yo-Yo's. It was honestly just like, like reviewers are saying like how people were reviewing the album. Yeah, like I saw people review the album like he was trying something new. I saw a lot of those comments too. But Rosenberg, it was just, I saw it online comments. You know what I mean? And honestly, as soon as the album was announced, I'm like people who probably didn't sit with the album. You know what I mean? Are these the kind of reviewers that there's a picture of the album behind them and then they're in set in little video talking about the album? Yo, what's wrong with you? That's basically our life now. But by the way, you're not critical enough of it. You are like my dad, bro. You see some shit and you take it as rule and you send it to me. I'm like, this is not legitimate, bro. Well, no, I look at it as this is fodder. It's all just fodder. But that's the problem. But it's also we take it as actual being something. But that's why we grab it and then we analyze it and we either call it BS and throw it out or we take it that they maybe have a good point. But it's a blurry line, I guess. Sometimes you're right. Some of it is just a conversation starter. Right. Like you are about to unravel and great make great content over me telling you that some people don't understand Rocky's musicality. You was really about to give us a moment right now. It was more about the Internet and the way we consume. And like there are days when like I got Ebro, I got my dad, I got people who send me stuff being like, look at this conversation. I'm like, is this a conversation? I don't know who this guy is. Well, look, man. I think I think what we have to be honest about is this whole holier than thou. These people don't matter and these people do stuff. No, it's not even about these people do because you're right. How can we trust the people who quote unquote do when they're mostly bought corporate media? Exactly. I'm with you. But it's such a double-edged sword. Yes. On the other side, you will be like if you see enough of the same video like, bro, you sent me that thing about the line being from Nazis. That was on Kristi Noemstein. Bro, there was nothing there. I dug that up. They looked it up in English, in Austrian, in German. Now, by the way, it doesn't even matter. It was just an experiment because obviously the message that they were trying to send was we will kill all of you because our administration is one of us. All of you. One of us. All of you. It's obviously evil no matter what. I was just doing the I was just doing the research to see like, yeah, but are people just copying the same story and saying it? Yes. You dig it and Google it over and over and look up articles that have been written on it. It all leads to the same thing. No, there's no they have not found. No, I'm saying it all leads to the same people saying that. Yeah, yeah. And it's a circle of people who just keep saying it. So it's just, you're right though, you brought. I don't disagree that we can't just be like, well, I heard it on the news, but. And then how about this? How about the suppression? The the actual active suppression of information when you try to Google it and the fact that we're we're expecting algorithms and corporate run entities on the Internet to give us the answers we want. You're expecting chat GPT to give you the answer you want. You're expecting Google Gemini to give you the answer you want, but it's really just pulling from the same information that you could Google yourself and things that you want to go see. Although it's really. And it is funny you say that though too, because sometimes chat GPT or whatever your AI preferences, it will do everything to try to give you the answer you want. It's like, well, hey, that's a really good idea. You know, I kind of like that. But I don't see it as factually true. They don't want to hurt your feelings. Well, and then right. So and then right now, sorry, Laura, you go to search something and you're looking for a reputable outlet and back to your point and the point we've been making for weeks. What's a reputable outlet? I know. No, no, seriously, I think I don't know. I have it fact check fatigue. My friends just send me stuff. Is this real? Is this true? Look it up. You have the same phone I do. Look it up. But it's hard because to the first point, to that point, if you look it up and then you're not skeptical about the articles that you get, like, for example, even a complex. That's a brand we always at least trusted and hip hop and knew they have changed what they do. They now do some real articles. But some of it is aggregated fake crap. Like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Obviously, you know, Joe Lapuma does real videos and then this content's real and that's all real. But then they also were like, but we need to flood. Seven. These are flood, flood, flood and it's not factual either. At the bottom of an article, there would be a source. You remember that? Of course. They cite their sources. Now it's almost like I almost never see those links anymore. Well, I will tell you, I saw one moving around in all those places, including the ones that I no longer fully trust like hot 97 and complex. And but everyone was posting the fact that a gentleman named Damien Elav Matthias passed away. And we would know him for being the man depicted in the public enemy logo that Chuck G that Chuck D famously drew. Now what? April 40 some years ago, the silhouette in the crosshairs, the silhouette in the crosshairs. The silhouette in the crosshairs was a B boy and it was this guy. He love, he was the B boy. He ran with LL Cool J. Oh, wow. It was his silhouette that was that was the public enemy logo and he passed away. So LL was paying tribute and Chuck and Flav and everyone was paying tribute to to this guy, Damien Elav Matthias. So wanted to show some love because man, that is, and you talk about Hebrew, where is that in the, in the lexicon of hip hop logos? Number one, it's up there. I when you were asking, I've never thought about it. He's never crossed me neither. The most notable hip hop logos in the chat. Number one is the Wu Tang. Number one is number one. Yeah. Yeah. Wu Tang is one, but that public enemy is up there. Oh, he's up there. Yeah. Yo, Hyroglyphics. Not Hyro's fire. The dots is fire. The three-eyed face. I think P. E. versus Wu is an interesting battle because the Wu is more globally significant for sure. It surpassed them, but in terms of openness, I might take public enemies and dopeness though. Well, well, hang on before you just go public. Wu has surpassed public enemy. Wu is at a different is a different era. Right. Okay. And, and yes, what because of the era it was in, and it was a little less controversial subject matter. Okay. So it's just extended itself probably to more mainstream consumption international. Well, even the, even the logo is less complex or controversial. And controversial. Yeah. Yeah. Man in the crosshairs like he's about to get shot. Yeah. Which was, which is what made the logo so fire. Is it you felt something from seeing the logo? Yes. Because you're like, yo, public enemy. Oh, they're taking cats out out here. I gotta go look in the chat. I wonder what other ones were forgetting because I'm sure there's some other really good ones. Ebro, you made a great point with a high row. Someone said BDP. Oh, run DMC. I mean, that's super. Right. By the way, it's barely even a logo. It's just the names written with bars on it, but it became, you know, we got a rough writers logo, rough ride, the double. The dipsets hard, but the dipset one, it's not nearly on the same scale of recognizable, but it's fire. G unit. What is the G unit? Just the big G. It was popular because 50 was popular. Oh, no, I mean, I mean, bad boy, you know, we don't have to like you. But maybe that's a big one. The bad boy with the baby. Anyway, so, so rest of peace to Eluf, man. I thought that was a worth note. There it goes. Listen, um, speaking of news, um, and you know, they don't, I've seen them running ads, but they don't run ads here yet. Maybe they will. But I do use a, an app that's pretty awesome. Okay. It's called ground news. And what it does basically is it aggregates all the news stories all over the place and it tells you who's reporting on it. Meaning like, you've mentioned this before, meaning like the first story that popped up at the top, it says Trump says waltz and Ilhan Omar support anti ice protest to distract from fraud controversy. And it says, you know, the first story that popped up at the top, but it says 15 sources are reporting it nine minutes ago and 75% of the sources that are reporting it are right leaning. So it'll give you a long red bar or if it's, or if it's central, it'll give you like a white, like neutral bar. And if it's left leaning reporting outlet, it'll give you a blue bar. So it tells you how you should think about it before you even read it. Perfect. And how it's being presented. It tells you sources that are reporting on it. I hear you, but you hear what I'm saying too? Yeah, absolutely. Because there definitely could be a story that only especially left where all the left people are reporting it because it's true. That's right. And then if you had that app and you were a little bit more centrist or red, you'd look at it and go, oh, this is a biased story. Well, and so what they do when they present it to you is they say it's a blind spot for the left or a blind spot for the right. But you can go to each of the sources reporting on it if you want. But to your point, Laura, where you have friends that are like, yo, have you heard or people, you know, looking for stories, you can search stories on here. You can do all types of things. I don't think so. I think you got to pay for it. Okay. It's called ground news. Ground news. But the story right under that that most of the left outlets reporting on and the right outlets are not reporting on. Yeah, is Netflix submits amended all cash offer for Warner Brothers and wins board support. So it's a step further. It's going a step further further and I'm assuming that the right is not reporting on it because they wanted either a they wanted Trump and the and the and the Ellison brothers. Whoever to get that also. And so they're suppressing that story on these right wing outlets and the left is celebrating because they didn't want Ellison and them to get their hands on that. Yeah, that is possible. The ground news. I mean, I both like it and don't like it. I'm not going to lie to you. Listen, that's on brand for you. It's very on brand. I just like things through because it's just another layer. We already have so much bias and it's like, let me think real quick how I should be looking at this article. Well, I was only I was thinking about it in terms of people like that, like Laura Stiles that are looking like how do I aggregate all of the. So it's so it's also just a news aggregator. You don't have to care about whether it's being right reported or yeah, but but yes, those bars at the bottom of how it's presented will definitely make you feel one way or the other depending on your affiliation if you're affiliated. Yeah, yeah, I'm getting the sense that people feel strong affiliations these days. Everybody's gang related out here. Red or blue because I'm blood. It just don't matter. And if you play the middle, guess what? Get run over. You don't be like Nellie out here. Stay in the middle of the street and get run over. Yo, it is time for the rundown. We still didn't get the completed the completed intro yet. We still need the run down. Turn that up. Hey, hey, hey, hey. But we still caught up. Still flashing. We don't slow up. All right. Do we have to attribute that song to someone? Do we like when we have a completed version, we can shout them out. Oh, wow. Okay. It's a tough room. I just don't know his name. All right. So let's get into it. Something we didn't mention. Better give us more. You want to shout out. But that's super dope is that green day will kick off the Super Bowl opening performance. Hey, this is fire. I didn't know that I saw it yesterday. Somebody's like, yo, you not excited? I was like, oh, wait, what? Wait, so wait, wait, wait, wait, how did you frame it green day will kick off the, the opening performance. It says we'll kick off the Super Bowl with the opening performance of America. The beautiful. American idiot. Like what are they going to? How does this weave in? I'm not sure. Listen, I love green day. So I'm here for whatever they just put, but they'll be, it's not, they're not kicking off half time. They're going to be on the team. Yes. Yes. Yes. So it's pregame show, pregame show, but still the fact that they're on his fire. Well, yeah. And they're going to, you know, they're going to trick some whites out there who will be like, oh, good, good old American rock music. But they don't pay enough attention to know that green day hates them too. So they'll just be like, all right, cool. Good. I know that I've heard them before. Well, also, also it should be noted that the Super Bowls in the Bay Area where green day is from. Perfect. Perfect. Before we get to the meat and potatoes, just really quickly, I saw that Gervante Davis bro. He has been stripped of his world of boxing association lightweight title. That's because of this domestic abuse. The domestic violence incident. Yep. And by the way, he's had how many incidents over the years? It's been a few, man. I can't even count. It's been a lot. It's like the main reason you hear the guy's name besides him being a dominant fighter. It's like equal. Is it a hand of domestic violence issues? It's really sad, bro. It's sad. Now, all right. I'm going to go back to the way. So yeah, back to that. Yeah. Man has been. Congratulations. You played yourself. All right. Well, let's get into it. The Nicki Minaj versus Don Lemon beef. I, and by the way, this is good. I'm about to have fun here. I am flying. You played yourself. I'm flying completely blind here. I've only seen headlines. I don't know what it's about. I don't know what started it. It's kind of challenging. It actually took some work. I had to do some work to figure out where it started and what the actual event was. It took a little bit of time. All right. So let's get into it. Now on Sunday, um, he shared a video from city's church in Minneapolis during which demonstrators interrupted a service and protests of a man named David Easterwood. He's a pastor, but he's also a local immigration and customs enforcement agent. He's an ice field officer. The pastor of the church is an ice field officer and protesters showed up to the church to look for him and protest in the church. I want you to look at this video and I want you to pay attention to what Don says. Here's the video of him at the, um, at church. I'm listening. I'm waiting. Or maybe. Yeah. But in the video. In the video, in the video, he's at the church and he says it. He verbally says it, right? He says, Hey, I'm not part of the protest. I'm just here to report on it. That's what Don says. And he, it is like, you know, interviewing people about it and whatever. Then afterwards that comes out. Of course, everybody was freaking out about it. They were like, my God, what's happening? Who are these protesters? What, what's going on? But again, Don Lemon says, I'm just here covering it. Right. So it goes viral. Then Mrs. Now real quick, let me just ask one question. Do we know he wasn't live during that, right? He was recording. No, I think it was a live stream. Was it a live stream? Okay. I'm wondering whether they would make the argument that him being live is sending more attention to said church. I'm just trying to get at what the argument was. Okay. So it goes viral. Okay. It goes viral. Then Nicki Minaj has something to say. She decides to come for him on X cause you know, she disabled her Instagram account and she says, Don, I don't know if I could say this word. No. No. See, second lemon is disgusting. How dare you. I want that thug in jail. He would never do that to any other religion. Lock him up. So that is the, the, the first tweet and then, you know, it started going, it started going viral. Now this is Don's response. You are a homophobic bigot. You don't care about African Americans. You're not an African American. From what I know, you are reportedly an undocumented citizen. So you should be deported under Donald Trump's rules. And the other thing is that your family members, you have one family member who's reportedly a sex offender, the other family member, your husband or whatever, sex offenders or husband. And one of them is reportedly a pedophile and you have nerve to talk about me and what you think that I do. Nicki Minaj. Get a life. Stop being a pick me. You should have put a pick me doll on that damn tweet instead of a Chucky doll because you are nothing but a pick me. You should have put a pick. I choose not to pick you. And so should black people and so should gay people. Shouldn't buy your music. Clock that. Clock that. Well, well, that was sassy. Wow. That was straight to the point. Don felt like he, Don went through and read her Wikipedia page fast. It was like, I got her. Oh my God. Oh my God. This is what they're saying. You can tell he didn't know that much, but he was like, I read what people were saying about you. That was well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well well agent. Now I think we could have a separate conversation outside of the nicky thing about whether it is a pretty interesting conversation about whether you should protest at the church service where the pastor is the ice agent. I do think that's an interesting conversation. I don't think it's a no brainer you should just run up in the church to be protesting because I don't know that every everyone I don't know that all the people in the church are aware of that. Here's what I know about protests. Generally speaking, they don't just ask for permission. There you go. I mean there's not like a there's not like a when activists activate and protesters protest I don't think they're looking they're reading some sort of rulebook on where they should or should not show up. I know but but but with certain things you kind of should like houses of worship are that's a sticky conversation about this and that and the conversation you're having about a reasonable a reasonable conversation. Yeah reasonable conversation about activism and protest decorum I think is a waste of time because the reason they do it is to be seen and to be disrupted like that. But but Ibra there are laws in place you're not you should listen to this. I don't think there's a lot. I don't think there's a law against it. All right. So there is. So listen to this. So after all of this you know that after the video when viral people were accusing to your point Don Lemon of instigating or organizing the protest which he didn't but the assistant attorney general her meat Dylan posted on X about and he said a house of worship is not a public forum for your protest. It is a space protected from exactly such acts by the federal criminal and civil law. There is a law. Nor does the First Amendment protect your pseudo journalism of disrupting a prayer or service. You are on notice. So there is a law and by the way I saw I had this in I think part of disruption and activism and protest. I think they often break laws like sit ins were breaking laws. You know when they're blocking traffic that's breaking laws. I think they're willing to go to jail for these things. I think that's the whole point. I get it. My pushback is we wouldn't like this in reverse of other situations. Of course not. People shouldn't be like I said this before. I just said this recently. If there's a rabbi out there of which there are plenty who is pro Israel no matter what the congregation doesn't have in my opinion should not be subjected to protests over Gaza and Israel in the middle of their service because the rabbi has a belief that they don't hold. That's not right to me. I don't believe rolling into people's churches or synagogues is the move. But when it comes to Don he was reporting on. I don't mean I don't know. No. He wasn't part of although although Laura that is interesting too. You don't see a lot of report. Think about in your mind the amount of times you've ever reported. The church is the is the is the part. I'm not. Listen there. There's a whole other thing here that they're doing with Don Lemon of course and we can get into all that. But it is unusual. He may have put himself in the crosshairs a bit because you don't see reporters with microphones inside churches and synagogues. No you don't. But unless they're inviting. But what are you. What are we talking about. They're coming after him now. But do what. What are they going to do. He works for himself. Are they going to kick him off the Internet. Oh are they going to like like he doesn't work for a corporation. He works on the Internet. These protesters what are they going to do. Are they going to go after their jobs. Are they going to put him in jail. No the Department of Justice. Ebro the Department Justice said they're going after him. Okay. Invoking the Ku Klux Klan Act and what's going to happen. They're going to are they going to drag him by trucks. Are they going to hang him from a tree. What are they going to do. What's going to happen because guess what. The president of the United States is also a criminal. I'm tired of acting like anyone else who breaks the law is so like oh my God. Huh. Yeah but they don't care. Church. Yeah. Walk in a church. So what. They don't care about that part. Yeah. But you're saying you're saying I don't understand what you're arguing with because we are all everybody's breaking the laws. Yeah but they control the laws. That's the problem. The rules are different. That's what. Different downs. These are very different downs. But guess what. It looks like they're all turning up. The gloves are off. Well this is a whole side of the church is with where there's an ice agent as a pastor. John Lemons. Dear God. He's streaming live from the church where they're holding signs. I know. And by the way now everyone's jumping up and down like you yo yo's all I do. That's right. Ebro tell him. Ebro's not making sense. The fact of the matter is the problem here that Laura and I are trying to express it. Laura at least I think you are as Don Lemon could get victimized here. He's not in control. He didn't what way. He didn't pick the Justice Department. Are you not watching these people do whatever they want. One rough shot. I know. Don you know you my guy. Unfortunately I want to see what happens next. Are they taking Don Lemon to jail. Are we going to see Don do the perp walk before we see Donald Trump in the Epstein files. What are we going to have more likely. Yes. Don Lemon in an orange jumpsuit in jail because he broadcasted from a church where the pastor said I say you think you're making it seem like it's a ridiculous thing when it could happen. I know. I'm seriously and twisted. I'm seriously asking. I am seriously asking and we had Rosenberg and I say it could happen. I believe it could happen. Yes. I guys. Hey everyone. Try. I remember the last time Ibro played I want to see it. We got January 6th because I wanted to see it and now it and you act like you won't see it again. You act. I don't understand what you think that you can't do it. It's necessary. Unfortunately. Aren't you guys realizing it's necessary. We like it's nothing to change. No one's going to do more about it. We'll just keep sinking further and further. What's going to happen. And that's necessary then because we don't have protocols and we don't have systems in place and we don't have honest politicians and we don't have a government that's willing to stand up for itself and actually live up to its promises. That is necessary. It's necessary. Okay. We can't just keep glad handing each other. How is it. I just don't understand what yours. I don't you know. I don't I just don't follow. No. We're glad handing because we acted like we were above a January 6th moment so much so that once it happened we didn't even have a recourse as a nation as a government to hold the people who did it organized it and worked on it accountable. Matter of fact the wife of a Supreme Court justice worked on it financed it. Okay. It happened. The president of the United States. Right. Nope. It happened. And we have no system to check it. Because because of everything you just said because of everything you just said is why I don't need to see more. I know what this is. And I'm going to go to jail and I'm on the other side. I'm on the other side. We need to see more so that people wake up and get active and start voting in people and we start and when those people get in we don't just brush it under the rug like we did the Civil War or we brush it under the rug like we did Jim Crow or we brush it under the rug like we do these Confederate that's not going to happen all over the country. It should. It won't. But the same Justice Department that would put Don Lemon in jail or the ones who will shut down the elections not let us have a fair election. So there'll be no point. No for now for now but people got to fight for it or not. You're revolutionary war. We have to. You mean look I get you. Where are we going bro. And I just I also understand Rosenberg's point. I don't want to see it. I don't want to see. Don't go through. All right bro. Him and his husband they'll be all right. They got money. He said a few days in jail. It's not. Listen this promo for Don Lemon. You know this is going to the Don Lemon show right now. That's short. Don when they make you do the perp walk. Stream it live baby. Let's go. Lemonation is going to be on fire. If you go to the purple nation is turning up. Oh my God. Oh my God. The fact the fact that back to the playing in your face. The fact that they're invoking the Ku Klux Klan Act. What is that. So I have a going to churches. No. Do you want to see a video that our friend Defnite and is breaking it down. Come on. Run it. Let's go. We have that. We have that. Why is the Department of Justice pulling out the KKK act of 1871 against a black journalist on Martin Luther King Day. Not only is it a choice. It's a strategy. The Trump administration already said they're going to start using the Civil Rights Division to go after discrimination of white people. The KKK act also known as the Enforcement Act of 1871 was signed by Ulysses S. Grant. After the Civil War during reconstruction the KKK and other groups like the Red Shirts used violence intimidation. They would end people's lives all to prevent black people from exercising their basic God given rights. Now when Ulysses S. Grant signed this law it did a couple of things. It made it a federal crime to conspire to deprive people of their constitutional right. One of the main things it did is it gave the president broad authority to enforce those rights including deploying federal troops and suspending habeas corpus on American. This has nothing to do with Don Lemon. This has everything to do with Donald Trump when he sent troops into Minnesota. Interesting. Didn't he already sent troops into Minnesota? There wasn't more troops in the Minnesota. No, no, no. He's got the icing there. He got icing there. But remember Tim Walsh was the one that got the National Guard ready ahead of Donald Trump so that Donald Trump could not take charge of the National Guard in the state of Minnesota. That was a move that Tim Walsh did. But also, yeah, Don Lemon was standing there with his microphone conspiring and intimidating churchgoers. Yo, hit the F out of here, bro. Yeah. Intimidating. You didn't. The only thing anyone could accuse Don Lemon of is being sort of smart, man, annoying. But don't do not tell me he intimidated you. Yo, you're making Rosenberg like Don Lemon. No, by the way, Nicky, I mean, listen, he always said some things I like. You know what I mean? I said he had things I liked. I realized that yesterday. I realized that yesterday. Sometimes I liked Don Lemon. You know what I mean? Because I mean, we just gonna let Nicky, Nicky, could you be getting worse by the day? What is going on? Why? Why? First of all, why are you coming after him on and saying something that's veiled or not so veiled homophobia given who you are? Like, I just cannot believe that you wanted to throw the bleep sucking at a guy who everyone knows is gay. That is such a crazy thing to do for anyone, specifically someone who so much of her early support came from the gay community. I don't understand what is going on in her head. She's abandoning all of that, bro. All of that is she's abandoning all of that. It's all of that's been thrown away, bro. All of that was thrown away when she's got to the tea poosa joint. Yeah, you sat on stage at the tea poosa. Why do you call it tea poosa? It makes it sound like it makes it sound like a yummy, you know, snack from another country that I've never had. Have you tried the tea poosa? I was there. I did the tea poosa. It just makes me laugh every time he says it. Well, so yeah, Nicky's throwing all that out the window. Clearly. Um, but here's why I'm at just to just to go back. Should I be? Should I understand that Laura and Rosenberg of the Ebro Laura Rosenberg show would rather have activists and journalists play it safe during this time in say that. No, didn't say that. What? What are you guys saying? Why? No, no, you're the one who started saying anything that was hard to follow. We were just pointing out what the story is. And then you started sort of yelling, I want to see it and they're not going to do anything. We don't want to see it. We're saying they could do something. That was all like, you're saying it is like, oh, they're posturing. I want to see it. And I'm saying I don't. I think they could do. I think they could use him as a way to do more. Okay, I just want to be clear. That's it. Yeah. And I because I just feel like while he was in the church, he clearly said at the beginning, I don't know if we got the video already. I don't know if you guys want to see it, but he clearly says I'm reporting on this. I'm not part of the protest. And I think that's the line that's going to help him. You know, I think there's, I think there's a separate again. I think there's a separate conversation about whether protests in churches or synagogues make sense. I don't, I don't like protests outside churches or in places of worship full stop. Yeah, I don't like it. However, protests by nature are often breaking rules and annoying and people are going to jail. But there's a difference between annoying, like blocking traffic to me and annoying, infringing on people's worshiping. And we would like the protesting on the good side, which I believe these people are, to not fall into doing the things that bad people would do. I think that's what you like to do. I'm with you. I don't believe that the people who showed up at this church meant to do any harm to worshipers. They weren't being violent. There was no nothing. They literally just walked in and were looking for the pastor and wanted to give him a piece of his mind because they were like, how could you be a Christian? No, it's crazy. And you're a field agent for ICE. Like, how, how is this working? And the truth of the matter is, I think Christians, because I saw people who were in this protest who were other church-going Christians were very angry that other Christians are okay with this ICE behavior. Like, that's becoming a thing where you have Christians that are like, you, we are not reading the same Bible and you are not Christians. And speaking of which, the Catholic church came out again yesterday with a stronger full statement. I think, I think from three different figures in the, in the church, all kind of following Pope Leo saying that they are not okay with the direction the United States is going with its policy. They weren't referring to ICE specifically. They were kind of referring overall, particularly internationally, Venezuela, Greenland, the general posture of the U.S. right now is not okay in the eyes of the Catholic church. And I think it's going to be very interesting guys to watch if this continues. You know, at some point, Trump, Trump can't handle having stones thrown, even if it's coming from the Catholic church. He gets enough shots thrown at him from Pope Leo and the Catholic church. I guarantee you, at some point, your man can't take it anymore. And that would create a very interesting conversation that would put some people in a pickle of what they go with God or their orange God. You know what I mean? They've already chosen. They've already chosen. They chose orange God. You're saying orange rose God. Matter of fact, they're not calling him orange God. They're actually calling him, calling him Darth. Mm. dementia. Is that a thing? I saw it yesterday. Somebody called him Darth dementia. I'm running with that. That's amazing. It's pretty good. Darth Don dementia. Shout out to Pope Leo. Nice to see the Catholic church. You know, you know, they you know, they got rid of the Archdiocese in New York because he was people say because he was too cozy with Trump. They changed that like right during the holiday. Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah, Google it. Run your Googles. Oh, he was like, he was like a, you know, right leading conservative leaning Archdiocese in New York. A longtime cardinal here. They got him up out of here. Wow. They hit them. They hit the Archdiocese with the F out of here. Damn. Wow. Well, that's what you get the button. You know, I know you don't see that every day that an Archdiocese catches, you know, probably the first time in his life. I think we got to get to the original gurus today. Is it time? Let's do it. Let me let me. There's so much going on. Well, you don't want to get to the original gurus. No, I do. I just it feels like there's more to do. We didn't even get there. I don't know. Just breathe. Breathe. The original gurus on the clothes, my God, mentioning on the clothes, the original gurus at gmail.com. The original gurus at gmail.com where you send us your problems and we're here with open arms to help you. Rosenberg who's writing to us? Who needs is that the be witch tarp from the from the sitcom to 70s 80s sitcom be witched hit that little tinkerbell. I think I like it. I have it as a generic. It's just a generic thing that's built in here. It could be though. It's giving me like be witched. I used to like be witch. It's giving me which by the way, on the other side of the original gurus, guys, we do have to update people as we promised we would today with the some of the plans. Hmm. We didn't even get to any of the plans because we're so busy talking about the demise of our democracy. Well, where do you want to go first? I think we have to talk about the original gurus. We have many emails, Laura, that come to the original gurus at gmail.com, the original gurus at gmail.com. Send your emails today. Send, send, send. You hit that damn tinkerbell sound as much as I like to hit congratulations. You play yourself. It feels good every time that doesn't know it's starting to start to magical. All right. Here we go, guys. Let me start by saying I've been a faithful listener since 2018. And you guys are a great start to my morning. I'm so glad you guys were quick to jump on YouTube. My mornings were feeling empty until I found your page. Thank you for always keeping it real. Send love to the whole crew. That's right. Pound subscribe, smash the like button, do it all and stay tuned for our plans that will give you more access to the show. We got plans. I'm a proud Mexican American first generation born here. It was easy for me to cut off my Latino friends and family members that voted for Trump, the irony, but I've given grace to my two girlfriends because they're white. Wow, that's crazy. I thought it was hard for them to understand how I was feeling. That's fair. They also don't post anything political on social media and we don't bring up politics in our conversations, except on a couple of occasions when they started the political convo, which we agreed to disagree each time. They didn't have facts. They just think he's doing a better job than a Democrat would have. We've been friends for about 10 years, met in college and lived in three different states, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut. I mean, it's one area folks. It is. Let's, let's relax. So we talk every Wednesday to update each other on our lives in group chat, but it's getting harder for me to excuse anyone that still supports the orange, especially since Renee Good's murder. That's Darth Dimension to you and me. Trump is clearly the devil and there's no gray area with what ice is doing. The fact that I feel like I have to pretend like these events are not affecting me to my two girlfriends is making me question if I should step back from the friendship. I haven't tried talking to them about what ice is doing because I don't like confrontation and I do have other friends I can vent to, but I feel like I'm not being true to myself by being friends with them because of how much I care for what's going on. So my question is, should I take a step back from this friendship without saying anything? Or should I try talking to them to see how they feel? I have a great love for these girls, but what's wrong is wrong. And if they can't see that, I don't know what's really in their hearts. Sincerely, a proud Mexican American. That's kind of pride, man. I know, I know. I think you should talk to them. You should. You should absolutely talk to them and just let them know. And if you feel the conversation goes nowhere, then you can make your decision of stepping back. But I do think that a conversation should be the next step, especially if you guys have been friends for years like you described. I kind of, I kind of tend to agree, bro. Like, you want to at least have the conversation. What if they surprise you? What if they say, yeah, I really, well, I think I really blame it. I'm seeing it too. I don't think this is right. It's the framing, right? Because she says they don't talk about politics, right? And that's not what the relationship is about. But because she's so affected by the goings on, she feels like she's not being true to herself when she's on the phone with people and she knows where they stand politically by not having the convo, right? That's really the rub here. The rub here is how she knows they feel and their political stance and lack of knowledge and the fact that she's in pain by what she's seeing and she's concerned that they have no empathy for her pain. How are you, my friends, and you care about me, but you have no empathy for what's hurting me right now? And I can't even come to you with what's hurting me right now because of your political side. Can I, can I win? Go ahead, devil. Go ahead. Take. Let us, what you need to do is just assume that they're on Trump's side. Now wait, now you should be on Trump's side and you should hang out with them. Join the country club. Be around all the rich whites. What? Come on, do the dance. Yeah, baby. Everyone wants to know. No, trust me, it's fun over here. Tommy, the wens here and the roses here. No. Nikki, Minaj just got here. It's little over here. I'm telling you. Yo, Satan, you want the dancing music? You want to show her how to do the dancing music? No, trust me, you can do all these things. I don't know why everyone's acting like it's a big deal. We're having fun. Trust me. Don't have to do the dance. Don't do it. No, she can get the Mar-a-Lago face. No. I know a great doctor. My wife sees a guy. Dr. Rubenstein in Boca. He's the fastest. The party's here in the base. He granted the music's not great. A little too much to give up. Hey, Satan, Satan, huh? Satan, you keeping tabs on Epstein over there? Epstein's here. What? No. Listen, Laura, it's an option. Yes, an option you don't want to take. No, don't listen to the devil. You're not listening to Satan. Seriously, the convo you have with your friends is really about framing. You say, hey, guys, something's really been bothering me and I know you guys care about me and say you care about me, but I feel like I can't talk to you about something that really hurts me because you don't see it my way. And I want to, you know, and it becomes a real deep conversation about pain, honestly, because what is, if you have never had a family member or you have never seen a person who looks like you go through the types of things that are happening to individuals who are being accosted and kidnapped by ICE, you probably can't relate. You think this is not my problem, right? But everyone on this show can see themselves in the human beings who are being accosted by ICE. We can see ourselves. Of course. Every one of us. But imagine there are people who cannot relate. They have no empathy at all. They think that is so far from anything that has anything to do with them and these people all did things the wrong ways, etc, etc, etc. That is a reality. Is it a wrong reality? And should they get hit with the F out of here and the congratulations you played yourself? Absolutely. And they might want to get hit with an eight ball jacket, man. If you want to be honest with how I really feel about you, you need to get punched in the face. But for her girlfriends and she claims she cares about, you need to have a conversation about what's hurting you and the fact that you can't talk to two people you consider your friends because of this. And you could say, you could even say like, I understand we may have differences, but I really hope you guys are able to see why this is so upsetting and so problematic. And maybe they will surprise you with the answer. Yeah. Maybe they're not going to show up in a, you know, Kamala Harris t-shirt, but maybe they will be like, nah, I really do hear what you're saying. And it's making us rethink things. Who knows. But the lens is through your eyes, though. The lens is through your eyes because they care about you. And if it doesn't go the way you're hoping, then it's okay to walk out of here. There you go. So say the gurus. Wow. That was beautiful. Yo, we had a Satan appearance. He confirmed that Epstein was down there. And there was a time going there. What are you talking about? That's pretty good. Hey, really quickly, before we get out of here, as the merch guru, I just want to give everybody an update. Everybody's really excited. There's more. Well, the merch is getting printed as we speak. Oh, we're going to start shipping everything out on Friday. So for everybody who's I mean, this is more than merch, Laura. Let's be honest. This is more than this is this is something. This is a level above merch. Let's be honest. We got to be honest. Is this coming in some cool packaging or is just showing up in an envelope? Chill. Chill. We're not there yet. Okay. It's just showing up in an envelope in a plastic bag. I want people to have expectations to understand what they're getting. You know what I mean? That's all. I speak. They know we're working. Speaking of expectations. We mentioned yesterday that we had plans, bro. Okay, we got more. We had a merch update. Now we got plans update. Well, yes, the plans. The plans were that we plan to start Patreon. Okay. Right. The update on said plans is the Patreon page is now live as we speak. All right. All right. Okay. And the first Patreon drop for those people who want to get on board, Patreon.com slash Patreon.com slash ELR show and the first Patreon exclusive content is coming at you. Wait for it tomorrow. Hitting people smack Dabby in the head for their head. So we're going to have we're going to have a little, you know, extra content for people. So Ibro, they can go on behind the scenes. And as the plans are being constructed, ruffle through the papers, take a look at the at the drawings, look at the construction, you know, do all of the planning with us. That's what family does. Yeah. Okay. You don't see him as excited about it, because I was hoping you would be me. No, no, no, this is great. Ibro, I want you to be like, yeah, you just were you went, Hmm, I was, I want to listen, I wanted to charge 25 cents. So Ibro chill. Now, Ibro, what if because you because you want people to always get their money's worth. If they sign up for Patreon and they join us tomorrow, we do a lot, we're going to do a live and they'll be hanging out with us. Will you take requests because people love seeing you do the dance? If people just come in and throw money at you like a stripper and want to see you do But why you gotta say like that, Rosenberg? No, only if on the menu is Laura's finger bang. Oh, I want to see you. I want to see you get the most gets the most requests a finger bang or a shoulder. So so basically how tomorrow's going to work, though, just in case anyone's wondering, I don't want anyone to think we're not doing the free show. We will be here tomorrow morning at eight o'clock. That's right. See us on YouTube. And then when that program ends, we will we will jump on Patreon. And if you want to continue on the journey, you know, things get loose behind the scenes, Laura. First of all, the best thing is there's mad music to play that we can talk. I know, I know, I know that's exciting. Ebro's been gassing everybody talking about the ASAP Rocky album. We could talk about some of the race ASAP Rocky plays. Yes, yes. You had the new TI. You gotta play that. I got to tell you, I was sort of pleasantly surprised by that new to me too. I was like, Oh, you don't see a lot of people go full comedian them back to rapper. Can I can I can I tell you something? I completely, I saw TI do some shows and heard that he was doing stand up, but I missed the whole full comedian. I didn't know he went full. Somebody told me he had a special special tour only doing comedy shows out like out all the time. Clip for the air is one thing you cannot forget about TI and his family is they made a lot of money on that lawsuit. So he's just living his dream. I forgot how much money they made. They made a lot. They made like, wasn't there a lawsuit with that OMG girls lawsuit? They made like $80 million or something. Ebro, there's been a lot of lawsuits. Hard to keep up, but that was one of them. Whoa. Yeah, dad, that was one of them. So if he want to go on tour and be a comedian, I got news for y'all. He gonna do what they have he want to do. Not like he's starving for cash. I'm about to say it's not like he didn't make some money prior to that too. That poor. So yeah, but he did full on comedy and now he's getting back to the music and TI is interested man. Prime TI was, I was special. That guy's good. That guy's a good rapper. Whoa, Ebro, you stepping out? Yo, hot take, hold up. TI is a fire rapper, bro. Yo, Ebro is stepping out. You never know what this is the kind of stuff you'll have to tune in to the Patreon because Ebro might drop a hot take like you never heard before. Like hit you with the TI is a good rapper. You ain't never heard that before. You never heard anybody take a risk like that. We can watch some videos together though. We can even take requests like they're gonna be some people like, yo, I've never seen y'all talk about blank. Okay. If you want, if you want an hour of Rosenberg meandering and just throwing things at the wall, Patreon. Why are you doing that? Why are you doing that? We're trying to get people to sign up. It's gonna be fine. So it's up there right now. I'm looking at it. Shots to King Louie and Griff, the ELR show on Patreon. You could sign up and tomorrow it'll be a great time. Now listen, you can also join for free and it'll keep you up to date on just things going on, but paid membership will get you an extra show every week starting tomorrow. Ebro's uncomfortable with it. Guess what? I'm just fine. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Yo, Ebro, Laura Rosenberg back tomorrow at 8am catches on Patreon to the ELR show on Patreon. Subscribe to your T shirts hopefully this weekend. If the plant doesn't botch it ship on Friday shipping out. Well, and what are y'all putting it on ground? What is it like? Ground? Yes. Listen, y'all gonna have it by Valentine's Day. You're gonna wear it by Valentine's Exactly. Groundhog Day. If the shirt shows up, there's six more weeks to winner. And even get a special bag.
