hello everyone and welcome to a special bonus episode of talk joshi my name is matt turner folks i'm joined by the one and the only the street fighter himself one andy header andy header you're ready to watch some great tokyo joshi pro yeah i'm excited i have never seen this match i'm looking forward to it and i believe this might no that's not my first watch along my first watch along for tokyo joshi pro but we've done watch it's our first watch along on talk joshi but yes this is going to be the new segment this will be there'll be some solo ones with me there'll be some stuff with andy header as well there's going to be a lot of some of this will be free obviously this is on the free feed the first one's always free so this is going to go on the free feed some of these watch alongs will be going up on our patreon as well they're only going to be audio only just so we don't get ourselves in any more trouble than i really need to do so uh we're gonna get right into it um just really just kind of a quick intro myself and andy we just recorded an episode talking about the magical sugar rabbits we talked about a great tag match with yuka mizuki versus daydream miyuan tanabi and uh rika tatsumi that might be the best match in Tokyo Joshi Pro history that I've watched or it's this one. That's how good this is. This was phenomenal. A couple months ago, I was just scrolling through some matches. I'm like, oh yes, I will watch this. As you can see in your feed folks, it is Miyu Yamashita teaming with Miyu Watanabe. So if you're in the crowd, Miyu, Miyu. Yeah, let's go Miyu. To take on on her retirement tour, still don't know why, Meiko Sadomaru and Shoko Nakajima. Yeah, as soon as I watch this one, I was like, I need to watch this one back with the one Andy header. So again, folks, this is going to be audio only, um, just for the purposes, just to make this easy on my tag partner, one Andy header, I'm going to share the screen of what I have here. So what you're going to do is you're going to go to your, um, your, your, uh, wrestle universe gimmick and, uh, the rest of the universe page. You're going to type in all rise 24 and you go right to the main event. Uh, the show is October 6th, 2024. Look at that. The doors open at 1030. Bell time at 1130. Isn't that great? Yeah. Early morning show. That would be awesome. I'd go to that here if they had that. Absolutely. Corganaha is wrestling all the time. So, again, it's just so much easier, Wrestle Universe, to navigate. Go to the search bar. Just type it all. Yeah, great. I mean, there's so much stuff there. Again, click on the magnifying glass. All rise 24. We're going to start this one. I have this one at 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 40 seconds. and again this is just going to be audio only so you're going to watch this as you see on the left hand side um me you want to now be all smiles me you know no smiles whatsoever nope the exact absolutely buddy are you ready to rock and roll on this one yeah yeah let's do it we're gonna hit that again guys all rise 24 main event two hours 17 minutes and 40 seconds audio only bonus episode because we love you. Miyu and Miyu versus Mako and Shoko. Again, this is an alternate commentary. It's just a watch along. If myself and Andy Hedder were just kind of in the room with you or we were in Corkin Hall eating some of that delicious fried chicken with you. So we can hit that play button in five, four, three, two, one. Press play. What I did is I put the Japanese commentary on just because with the American, it could kind of interfere what we're talking about. So if it's too loud, just let me know. I'll gauge it. I'm gauging it. No, it's alright. Yeah, once you get the loud entrances. There's your theme. Sounds like a video game, doesn't it? It does. It has that Maidai beginning. I couldn't think about what it was. The Maidai. A Maidai keyboard. Very video game NES. For Shoko's entrance music area. I'm excited to watch this one with you. This was really, really good. And we'll have a little Q&A afterwards. We'll talk about if you think this is better than Daydream versus the Magical Sugar Rabbits. No wrong answer. Yeah. Look at Shoko. A ball of energy, Shoko. I noticed going back and watching Shoko in 2021, 2022, and 2023, that she's got the shorter hair. Yeah, the shorter hair. Yeah, I'm not a fan of that as much as her hair now, but it ain't bad. But she has her look with the furry tail and the headpiece and everything. Bart versus the spade music. It's a cool theme, too. I was just going to say, speaking of cool things, Miyu Yamashita's music is pretty cool, too. I love the banners. Yeah, that's great. a shirt like that. I'm sure they probably did. Yeah, probably had to. And this is pretty cool because you got one person wearing pink and red and another person wearing pink and red here. So that's pretty cool how like, you know, Miu and Miu all wear pink and then Choco and Miko wear red. I'm trying to include the champions here. So this is October of 24. I think it's her and Maki Ito or I'm trying to look at it. It's the pink title. So that's Tag Champs, I think, right? turn Maki Ito. I think Miyu Watanabe is the main champion. Obviously, it was stardom. I could tell you everything. We're going to get there, folks. Watch this. When she does the twirl, she takes the belt up and holds it up. Right into the streamers. She knows her gimmick. The hair back. She's so cool. She's so cool. Look at that jacket. That's a nice jacket, too. some snakeskin and pink that's awesome are you sure that a DDT mmhmm well Jager I was going to hit that short on clothesline first yeah I like how they do that they zoom in on her picture on the screen very tan in that photo yeah Mego was always kind of very tan Yeah, you're right. And then when she went over to NXT with Super Tan, because that's what they do over there. Yeah. You want to be a wrestler, you got to be tan or wet. Either or, preferably both. I like the zoom in on the eye hooks on the ring there. Yeah, that's pretty cool. I think, I could be wrong, I don't think I am. I think this was Mako's last match in Tokyo Joshi Pro. Really? Oh, wow. And obviously her last match Was with Sendback Girls Her last last match Yeah with Manami, Hashimoto and Aja Kong Sold out Corican Hall, a friend of the show And overall his friend Tom Fane On the call for that match I'm talking Tom quite a bit I just got to make sure I know when to text him Because he's over there in Japan Yeah, what is it, a 14 hour difference? 14 hours ahead, yeah But I do have that world clock on my phone little streamers for Mako set them more roughly so i wish you could judge who gets the most streamers did shoko i wasn't paying attention did shoko get a lot she got a little bit yeah i think Mako got a little bit more look at me it was a death stare well yeah i mean who the hardest hitters in this match You see what this match is built around There Shino cleaning up some streamers there. Oh, look at you! There's Shino. I love when she grabs that. I found out the name of the song is called Chocolate Love. Oh, really? Yeah. I found it on... You like how the camera is doing the zoom in, zoom out and twist there? That's pretty cool. I was watching. Oh, what was it? It was the show in Philly. We couldn't go to it because we were doing the live Stardom cast. It was Daydream versus 1-2 million in the main event. And then the semi-main event, I was looking and it said Shoko versus Rio. I'm like, oh, my goodness. But it was England-Rio, not Rio. Oh, okay. Still really good. It's probably still good, but yeah, not the Rio we know. No, it actually happens in the beginning when the UpUp girls do the performance. Miu's on the outside and the crowd's going nuts. It's Philly. So she winds up taking the concert in the first row, and then she grabs the camera, and the cameraman pulls back, and she ripped the lens off. And she still stayed in lovable Miu character. That's funny. She might have the best Steve in Tokyo, Joshu. That's a really – I mean, it's not Night of Death, but I enjoy that. It's catchy. We're going to make this new album out now. Yeah, Tipping Point. Big fan of that. The Ride of the Lightning is really good. somebody made a video it's called the dark side of me you where it's like me you doing all the cute stuff but it's all in black and white and it's like a death metal song i have to send it to you i came across it i hit like a i hit like a random thing like during cardio at the gym a couple months ago and i'm like the dark i'm like oh was she a heel and it's just her doing this stuff but it's all black and white and it's like oh my god it doesn't fit it at all it's so cool yeah shogo does have a little bob hair but i had a muse hair looking very good the maroon color hair like sharon osborne yes i think me you want to now yeah whenever like either and cometani that's what i have to do here nice lock up again another great match i think it was uh it was earlier here in 2024 with uh me you versus shoko in this building um i think that's the greatest match i've ever seen in Tokyo Joshi Pro history. It's so good. Nice standing switch. I've noticed so much in Miyu in big matches. Her chain wrestling is very, very British, which is a massive compliment. Miyu mixes a bunch of different styles in the powerhouse style, which not many Joshis do you have. I mentioned this. I don't know if I mentioned this on the show with you here or somewhere. I mentioned somewhere that Miu's selling reminds me of Kawada. Like, oh, she's... Towards the end, like, she'll hit a big move, and she'll have to sell, and she fires up. That's a massive compliment. Look at that. I'm comparing like, super lovable Miu onto Navi to violent Kawada. Yeah, I know. Oh, my God. Miu, Yamashita came in. One kick, pin. That was it. Uh-oh, there we go. I love it how she gets out of the corner there, where she's like, I don't want to be trapped in that corner or Meiko, because you know what's going to happen. Lights are going to be out. You can just hear the crowd come up a little bit more. No feeling off process. They had a match. I think it was in Tokyo Joshi Pro, Arsene and I girls like a few years earlier than this. And Meiko really bullies Miu. Really? Yeah. And it's just like you tell Miu's out. That's what the pre, obviously I fast forwarded of the time but the the little pre thing they did before this match it shows some of that you tell they're going to start throwing kicks when you put the hands up like this yeah muay thai style i like how she i like how makeo kicked the knee and then went up to the hamstring like i got you on the knee i got i got the distance now i'm going to go up to the hamstring Look at that wrist lock. It gets to the chest. I love that lace sweep. Yeah, that's a nice lace. With the wrist lock, reverse down. Got a one. Shade of Scott Hall. Yeah. Nice Suzumi banner in the back. Mm-hmm. Like, if you were to rank these, how do you rank these four wrestlers? Like who's one, who's two. Yeah, geez, that's a tough one. My God, yeah. Especially now. I mean, not considering Mega retiring. Today, all of them are just great. I think the three best wrestlers in Tokyo Joshi Pro are Shoko, Miyu, and Miyu. I probably have to agree with you there. And then Mizuki. You like how Shoko kind of didn't get the head scissors, but Miyu just held her? and they gave her the gut buster. Yeah. Shoko probably the fastest in this match. Yeah, no doubt about it. Miyu probably the strongest, but then like, I'm sorry, Miyu, Watanabe probably the strongest. Yamash should probably and Mako the hardest hitters, but Mako's got like the experience advantage. Nice cravat. Yeah, it's incredible. You don't think so much. No, not really. I made mention about the British. In French, that translates to necktie. My sister-in-law told me that. I liked how Miu, when she did her hip toss, she put her hip into it. I'm like, oh, hip toss. Usually you step up to the side. She's almost like a judo throw. It adds to it. It makes it look more devastating. It's just the hip toss. This was a singles match I would love to see. Yeah, this would be great. I like how they just feel it out. Because the crowd is like, oh, they're going to do something. They're going to touch. You have your new ace in Watanabe. And then, like, basically the real final boss, Meiko Satomaru. Meiko, very underrated run in NXT. literally to the point where it's like if you those nxt um autograph cards that they were doing you can find a mako satamora like ship ten dollar autograph really wow yeah sari as well but she spells it with a y because yeah it's like s-a-r-r-a-y or something yeah you can get the yeah you can get that you can get those pretty cheap oh look what i go on me go on the ebay my man you'll see them because they're not really sought after because like i you know the american collectors are like, oh, NXT, they want the big stars. Like Roxanne Perez, or Lola Vice, or Julia Stephanie Bercur, Asuka. Yeah. So it's like, obviously, also, the Japanese collectors were like, oh, we don't pay $80 for shipping because it's somebody in New Jersey? Yeah. I think so, Mako did have quite a good run in NXT and NXT UK. Yeah. Nice Indian Death Rock with the forums. I like how Mako has all the pressures on Watanabe's knee. She just shot shoulders back down. Gets the headlock. She really got that. There's no daylight there. She's got the S grip in. She's got her body on Velcro. Yeah. Very great stuff there. Like we said before, Mako still could move There was no like she should probably hang out It not like nothing against the current day Naito Meiko could still go in her last couple matches Yeah eventually though It just maybe wanting to move on Maybe she's in pain, yeah. I mean, she runs Sendai Girl, so it's not like she's out of the business totally. You see her literally at the start of every Sendai Girl show. Yeah, she comes out, yeah. It's like, hey, let's see Meiko. Kind of like Kabashi every now and again. There's Miu. I love when she does the pull the ponytail. ponytail it's like lawler we're dropping the strap yeah uh andy's like we talk about him out on on talk joshi all the time he sent me a video of uh me you want to nabi was on a talk show and some guy asked to get laser beam and then a giant swing and he's like can you believe that i'm like if i met me i would absolutely ask that i would pay for that beautiful to harris from shoko and if it's not a wrestling person. You gotta just shoot that laser beam just as hard as you possibly can. It was. It was a little on the stem. You can hear it. And the guy weighed as much as Lily. Like he wasn't doing it all. I still would have sold it. I'm sure it would have hurt, but I would have sold it. Yeah, me too. I'm like, I don't even need a blank. I was like, I would definitely take that. Are you kidding me? I found out just again from all these, this deep dive I've been going to meet Wantanavi. She calls the batting hammer the batting hammer because she used to play softball. Really? Yeah, and the laser beam is when you throw a ball. They either call it the frozen rope or the laser beam. So I was like, oh, that's why. Yeah. Well, then we need Miu versus Mayu because baseball references. Oh, my goodness. Put that in existence. There's so much stuff we can do. Great leaping lariat from Yamashita. I'm getting good at Yamashita and Watanabe now. That's a great cover how she has her foot over Miu's head. Love a good cover. Allison Danger always said whenever she was teaching class in NXT with William Regal, if you want to get over with them, have good covers and talk about lizards. There you go. Make a good cover called The Lizard. There's that above the top rope 619. Crazy. Back your mosh into the corner. There's Michael showing she can still run and stuff. Look at that. That's a springboard. that's the first you see the look on her the look on Yamash's face was great because that was the she'd been waiting years to get that clean shot on her I love when Miu does this I usually do the cobra clutch into the knees especially the takeover cobra clutch almost like a version of the anaconda vice I was just thinking that yeah when you get down I never seen a cobra clutch down like that. Yeah, it's like a condomized base. Almost. A little different. Yeah, it's almost a version of the side choke there. And again, no daylight showing in that thing. When you wanted to get a little legit shoot ski there, she could have. But she's a professional. I love the kick. I love the kick batting hammer combinations. I don't think the Mii's have ever teamed before, at least not in like straight up bag. I love this combo. Very much like Micah, the lariat into the tackle, but she does the stinger splash into the shoulder tackle, and I love it. After she hits it, she kind of squats down. Yeah, I love that. It adds to it. Here we go. Argentinian back. Oh, she's got a power drive. That backbreaker. What if she picked up and then hit the Will Ospreay? What's that move called? Stormbreaker. I was just going to say, Betty Rebels Hammer. You see everybody's doing the AI stuff for so-and-so will return in Doomsday. So you know it's real, it's fake. Somebody put Anakin Skywalker will return in Doomsday. They're both under the same banner. Yeah, it's possible. Doctor Strange opens up a portal to the Star Wars world. Yeah, we need help. Remember at the end of... I love this. that springboard inside to the second rope Rana, that's awesome remember Endgame when he's just like, you wanted more? then he goes to the Star Wars universe yeah, there you go, Millennium Falcon flies out Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the pizza van it's kind of like oh look at this, butterfly lock here a hypermobile yep and people are like what two people yeah yeah I was going to say DC KO the fourth issue is supposed to be when Red Sonja and Vepro and everybody comes so kind of similar look at that Shooko goes for the Rana Mew just grabs her right into the backbreaker Mew wants an obvious one of my fair wrestlers to watch. I love it, right? The Northern Lights, which is one of Shoko's finishers. Yeah, full control there, too. It didn't look like Mio struggled. Mio Watanabe struggled at all there. You got it. Mio Watanabe. You got it. Mio, Mio. You got it. That's one of the last names. Batting hammered the 619. She's a genius. And look at this. Swinging up into the power slam and the front slam. In the middle of the ring. Doesn't hook the leg, but she has both arms over the shoulder. Yeah. I love it. Oh, I love it. I think everybody knows what's eventually going to come. Yep. Whoa. What a reversal that was. That was awesome. 619. And I love it how she tried for two minutes earlier, and then she got the batting hammer. So, like, oh, I wanted to see the 619, and then, you know, make the way for it. Look it. What a jerk. What a jerk. Panko just pops her. Pops Yamasha right off the ring. Yamasha wasn't even in the tag row. No. Look at that. I like when she threw Rika in that match. Here we go. We got a double body slam here. Ugh. Even with people posting, a double body slam has to be hard to do. No, just to try to get the grip around. Yeah. Two people? Yeah. and then she got the crazy look on their eye you know you mentioned uh wantanabe versus mayu mayu goes into zombie mode so yeah you gotta kill mode wantanabe versus zombie mode mayu yuutani that'd be awesome crazy here's mego setemore right ready for she's gonna retire yeah i'll take the giant swing yeah swing me around 10 times why not the hell with it look at your master was like alright get me in there Come here, I need to kill her. Come here, you kick her. Look at her. Just even the pulling the cool hair back like that, waiting for you to get up. It's like taking the mask. I'll give you a blood on the battlefield. Yeah. She kicks her and then kind of rears back and then sells it for a minute that she kicked her. Adds to it. Meiko's a genius. I always love that when like you're getting ready to throw them off rope and they hold on then you just give them another shot. There's a kick. There we go. Look at this. Anything you can do I can do better Great sell from Yamashita The two roundhouse high kicks were great There was a match. It was All Rise 2022. I keep talking about it with Shoko and Miu. Where Shoko's in the top rope, Miu hits a head kick, and then Miu tries to get away, but then Shoko's selling the head kick. So she goes to fall forward on the way down. She drop kicks Miu. I was like, I've never seen that before. I'm like, I'm going to fall forward. but then she puts her foot out and kicks Miu on the head on the way down. It's like... Miu Yamash went for the AA, the FU, the John Cena move there, but nope. Miko powered out, and now she got that Ritchin lock. So technically, because Miu Yamash does call it the AA, so we went from John Cena to Brutus Beefcake. Yeah. Cotton and Strutton. Miko Fan of Earth, Cotton and Strutton. Cut their hair Not calling a spot there by the way folks No no I love that corner kick That kick yeah that's awesome Return crush Yep Anybody knows how to take it it's Mako Man she's getting fired up Getting the crowd into it Mako's laying there Soaring her face that's awesome Stop kicking me Please stop kicking me you're for revenge skull kick oh there we go that was great skull kick roundhouse skull kick one two whoop the only thing that ruined it for me when I first watched it is you could see Mako's eyes looking for Shoko I thought that was the finish Ted DiBiase Buzz Sawyer power slam and then Wontanob is like kill her yeah power slam you don't really see power slams all that often especially in Joshi. Micah. And yeah, Miu. Yeah, and then it's like Randy Orton and then it's like, I'm sure other people do them, but look at that backdrop. I like the kick where she went to go crash, start for crash, crash, rabbit heat. And then Saddamar's like, nope, you dropped on the back of your head. Uh-oh. Scorpion kick. Oh, she misses the scorpion. Crash, rabbit heat. I'm not afraid of it. Mekko sold that too, like she's just knocked out. There we go. Oh, jeez. I'm fucking up, Brownhouse. You kicked in the head like six times. No more kicks. How cool is that? You didn't see Shoko at all there. That was great camera work. I'm going to step up Rana. Oh! It's a cool momentum move. You see Shoko do it quite a bit. She Rana's and then she uses the momentum to go back and forth. It's a real cool full scenery view of Shoko's offense. How it's Manko's turn to kick. Yamasha's head almost hit that bottom rope. Yeah. I'm just going to hit the AA. Because Manko does the running DBD. Yeah, like a DVD bomb. That's how she beat Kyrie to win the World of Stardom Red Belt. Well, here it comes. Death Valley bomb. I like how she holds on to the hair. I'm not done. Oh, no, a double. I don't know. We're going to get one more. Pulls it around. I think she was maybe going to go for a pin with that submission. I'm not sure. I forget the name of that. Sadamaru special. Yes, that's awesome. I just got to run and throw my legs at you. Maui Shikawa and Miracle does the Sadamaru special. Roxanne Perez does it from time to time after she had that really great mini feud with Mako back in NXT. Roxanne got a lot out of that. obviously Roxanne's doing she's doing alright for herself yeah speaking of Saturday Night's main event had a great match with her and Liv versus Io and Rhea I watched it the other day yeah so good time to pay the piper final boss here it comes Scorpion yep whoop and oh yeah she didn't get her well there I think she bombs her again though good stuff buddy right that was great we wouldn't think she was gonna retire in a month's time pause that for the cause stop sharing come over to you um yeah that was a good one wasn't it Mm-hmm. Very good. Really good. I have four and three-fourth stars. Again, I like that just as much as I love the match, the Daydream versus Magical Sugar Rabbits we talked about. The only thing is, man, I really – if you didn't know Meiko was retiring, you're like, they're definitely building towards a Meiko versus Miyu Yamash to match. Yeah, it was big. Because that's what it seemed like, like for Miyu to get the win back and just – you know, that was Meiko. I'm almost positive that was their final match in Tokyo-Joshi. But really good stuff, buddy. Let's see you. What was your rating on that one? Oh, geez. I think it was really good. I think I'm probably around four and a quarter, four and a half, probably. Yeah, yeah. Excellent stuff there. I mean, four fantastic wrestlers. It's always really cool seeing the Miu's team up. I don't know if that's ever happened. Or if they have a tag name with something like Yugi, Yugi, Yugi. Is there a Miu squared team name? Miu squared, yeah. And I really like the batting hammer into the kick sandwich they did in the early parts of that match. But Shoko was great, obviously, towards the end. It was all about Sacamaro. You know, basically, thank you for what she's done. But Mr. Andy Header, I don't know what else you want to talk about. You want to, you gave her about four and a half, and I was at four and three-fourths, so we're right around the same. But really good stuff, guys. You're going to be seeing more of these come, these watch-alongs. Again, audio only. Some of them are on Patreon. Some of them are on the free feed. But my man, that's going to wrap it up for this episode. Again, I don't listen to anything else that you want to cover, brother.
