One of my great joys. So do you want to just, should we just get right into that? Just do it. Fuck off. Let's just do it. Y'all ready for this? Sounds like you are. I just said yes. Jesus. Sounds like I know, but I had to play that. Otherwise, people wouldn't know we were moving on to that. We're going to talk about Vince Vaughn movies. We're specifically going to do our own individual top 10 Vince Vaughn movies. Then we can sort of fill in the gaps and go over his filmography and look at some of the stuff I'll say this first and you would know this as you've known me since I think I was 14 years old before Tim Robinson before Will Forte before Will Ferrell as far as like guys that fucking made me really really really laugh it was Vince Vaughn now Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler Chris Farley were probably like the first trio that was like 10, 11, 12, 13 year old Rich Keefe then like 15 to 22 year old rich keith i would say or maybe even like 17 to 22 maybe a little bit older yeah it was vince vaughn like vince vaughn was the guy people be like who's your favorite actor i'd be like vince vaughn's my favorite actor i thought he was the most quotable i loved it like any movie that he was in i would see it whether it was all the comedies but even all the dramas i would see i still like him i still defend him obviously he's he's cooled a bit but then he's come back recently with some good stuff he was on curbier enthusiasm he was on tires and he's been in a few movies that are he's like he had a mini resurgence here uh bad monkey was good um the show on apple tv oh right yes yes yes yes i forgot even all about that that was very good show i enjoy i really enjoyed bad monkey good call that was good true detective was not uh season two that was not his fault i would not i would not pin that on him correct but he's like he's gotten a good amount of work even though like his his peak was probably oh one to oh five i would say yeah which coincides with like high school college rich keith so yeah and any movie he was in in that time period you were absolutely seeing it yep no doubt like he was he was the guy he's still what 56 years old yeah so like he's got he's got more roles in a tall drink of water tall guy yeah and he's got like a certain comedy about him that i feel like he is pretty unique like he plays vince vaughn in a lot of movies which is fine because i think if you're good at something play it like people said the same thing about tim robinson and will ferrell like go ahead play play that is there another guy that's even like vince vaughn no in the sense that like what he does and they was like people who talk about like working with him it's just like you don't it's almost impossible like i remember grad pitt specifically was like it's impossible yeah like to because you you're bracing yourself ready for what he's going to say next and then he doesn't say that and he says something completely different and it's way better than the thing you said before and you just can't keep up with it yeah i truly believe his only real match is john favreau some would argue owen wilson he has a good rapport with owen wilson i think it's far better with john favreau i think that is when he is at his absolute best there is a movie on this list that we will talk when we talk about it we'll talk about it but people people ask me believe it or not like i know people say like on pie go everyone everyone's asking about people legitimately ask me like what it was like to be your friend as a teenager and i would say like watch you know exactly what movie i'm talking about like watch this movie specifically and you could the two and it's like weirdly like our two personalities at that time like when when we saw it together in high school and i remember just like sitting on the couch just like looking at you and being like fuck like wow this is way too if you want if you want to know what my relationship is like with my brother watch the movie silence oh wow if you want to if you want to know what my relationship is like with you watch a movie we will talk about in moments that's funny uh that's a good call uh yeah and like i would say he's had a really good career right like i don't know if oh my god yeah like a really good career i don't know like his net worth or any of that shit is but i'm just saying like he is i'm sure he doesn't either i'm sure he doesn't give a shit he probably doesn't he probably just seems like yeah like i We obviously don't know any of these people, and I'm sure a lot of them would be horrible to meet and or horrible to hang out with. I feel like the opposite would be true about Vince Vaughn. I feel like he'd be an absolute blast. Yeah, you know how him and it would happen the same way it happened to Shane Gillis in Tires. We would just go to a Chicago bar, and he would just be there, and he'd be like, oh, hey, man. And we'd just start cutting it up. Just cutting it up. But you're right. I think I'm sure in the course of things, like uh some actors really enjoy it some actors probably hate it because they're like i read the script like i'm really good at reading the script and reading my lines and i'm waiting for you to say your lines and then he's like well i'm gonna sort of do it another way yeah because i was curious the most recent movie he was in um mike and nick and nick and alice that's on hulu right now i wonder if like because i heard an interview that the director did and it didn't sound like he wrote the movie for him but i feel like once you get him like that's what you're getting like you're not just like hey read all my words and only my words like so that's gonna be such a weird i'll use your ideas but i'm not gonna use that your words yeah what do you need me to do yeah i'm gonna i'll get there but it might not be the way that you want me to go all right so i say we do our individual top tens and then if there's other stuff we can miss i got i got a filmography up here dating all the way back to an uncredited appearance as a cheering soldier and crowd in a 1991 movie called for the boys and we can go through them all but you just want to do one list at a time or do you want to do your 10 my 10 9 9 that kind of thing we'll do let's do my 10 then your 10 and then i'll because there's something that we have there's something that's i need to discuss and people are going to give me a hard time about this i know they are but okay let me explain all right i also 10 to 1 or 1 to 10 uh no definitely 10 to 1 okay 10 to 1 i also were doing just movies right so obviously he was really good in curb and bad monkey and a few others even sex he was in one episode of sex in the city i remember watching in high school and he was oh really he was really good in that yep uh great host of saturday night live too yeah you're right he was he was a good host uh that was 98 he did uh snl oran hill was the musical guest how about that so there's a few movies he has like a cameo in and so i guess you can decide to include it or not there's one where he at least has like a few lines that i think counts and there's one that he's like really just barely in it which i did not count but choose your own adventure it's no rules here i'm gonna do like straight like rolls no cameos Mine is no cameo. So that's why people are going to come at me for this. But I have a retort. So number 10, believe it or not, Hacksaw Ridge. That movie is really good. And he's in it for a good hour. I would say that's a long movie. And he's in it for the first hour. He's like the drill sergeant in that movie. Really, really good. Number nine, Four Christmases. This is a pretty decent little holiday movie. So this is a movie I did not like the first time I saw. i saw it in the theaters and i think i had like a little bit higher hopes but there's at least enough vince vaughn john favreau together and it's just like vince vaughn and like ruse witherspoon and like vince vaughn just kind of like a few scenes he's just kind of carrying the thing and i'm like all right gagging when the baby spits up on him is pretty yep this is enough um number eight starsky and hutch which is he plays like the villain in this and it's fine um i think it's uh of all like these comedies like these bro-y comedies that came out like the 2000 late 90s early 2000s like i think this is kind of like the weakest you remember what they called this group of actors the frat pack correct yeah the frat which was like owen wilson luke wilson vince vaughn will ferrell ben stiller and stiller that might have been it but uh yeah any movie those guys were in i would see them and paul rudd yeah could sneak in there um didn't oh speaking of of uh of us didn't coach perry call you and me starsky and hutch he did yeah he did it was before the movie came out so he was talking about like the show and like i like vaguely understood the reference but he's like all right look at these two here comes starsky and hutch yes um number seven mr and mrs smith which yeah by the way decent movie he fucking steals the show in this movie um number six the breakup number five some of the best video game scenes ever in a movie are him playing i still references like it's not me it's these guys with their big digital hearts out here yeah yeah and then when he tells her he's gonna go hit the streets i always say that when i'm playing game if i'm playing a game like that i'll tell katie like when i was playing tony hawk i'm like i gotta go hit the streets and she's just like i don't care i and i would say like you um i gotta get the bad guys is what i say a lot and then i also say like who's artham's arkham's not going to save itself that's what i've also said um number five made um a favorite of mine but probably like a weaker it is like the most full-on vince vaughn you're ever gonna get um and so there's that we'll talk about that later for dodgeball number three wedding crashers yep number two swingers okay and number one old school yep i did not put anchorman because i googled it he is on the screen in anchorman for oh less than three minutes yeah that crazy that west man tooth who is a memorable character name and memorable moments is barely in the movie Barely You can choose to include that one or not I feel like Dorothy Mantooth is a saint is one of the great lines from that movie. And he's a guy who can't even think said, you guys can't do anything. The guy who can't even think said something is one of my favorite lines of that movie. Because that's one where you're like, you know, Ben Stiller and Luke Wilson in the newsman or the anchor fight. you could be like alright they're barely in it but then when Wes Mantis like circles back there's like a few more lines of Mantis so I did include it but I get why you didn't Zoolander is another movie he's in he's one of Zoolander's brothers so it didn't say a word I did not include that if people wanted to they could it's on his IMDB alright so my top 10 a lot of overlap but also a lot of different ones too um actually no I take it back a lot of overlap number 10 though a different movie Domestic Disturbance this was a 2001 movie he was in made Zoolander and Domestic Disturbance in 2001 this is not a comedy this is a psychological thriller with John Travolta and Vince Vaughn where Vince Vaughn is going out with John Travolta's ex-wife and they have a kid meaning like John Travolta and terry polo have a kid and vince on is the mean stepdad oh boy a bizarre steve buscemi is also in this movie it made like no money at the box office but it sure shit was in my dvd collection and it's a weird movie it's not great but i i think just because of the cast specifically vaughn i like it number nine mr and mrs smith it is a very entertaining movie it's very good and he has a cool he's a good role in it too uh number eight is the breakup i also read a story that talk about like other actors and what they thought of vince vaughn i guess jennifer aniston was like i think this was like right after her divorce and like she was like this guy like kind of like saved her life and not saved her life but like brought her back to being like feeling good about herself i guess she was like really in the dumps and like he was like such a good friend and like a good on-screen character and everything else in a good lay in a good they dated did they i think so like hush hush oh interesting what about let's see vince vaughn married he is married but like i don't think he was then no no i i did i yeah he is hard oh yeah he was with jennifer aniston then how do you like that maybe that's what she meant according to this website which i feel like is probably 100 accurate called who's dated who.com oh okay he has four so he's married i believe to kyla weber that's on here jennifer aniston from 05 to 08 1998 he went out with ann heche they of course started to film together yep and from in 97 and 98 joey lauren adams nice i love joey lauren at the pod yeah friend of the show and you know what she loves us she does yeah we asked her we said sorry for taking up too much of your time she's like no you guys are good let's hang out no she's like let's be best friends yeah and i was like is that tawny katane she's like yeah they just wheeled her in he's now attending comic cons in the sky but she's like it used to be i still love her i still love you tawny yeah uh so the breakup at number eight i'm going with mike and nick and nick and alice at number seven i just haven't seen it i had a really fun time with this a nice time i was talking it up a little bit and then people were kind of chirping me because they were saying it wasn't like super funny it's not it's like an action comedy you know or like and there's like a little like layer of sci-fi uh i don't want to give away too much because there was a couple like pleasant surprises for all i know is he's it's dual roles for him that's all i know okay that was one of the things but yeah no it's no it's on the poster like you look at the thing it's two vince vons oh okay that's all i know i know nothing else which is tough luck for that movie because last year there was like four movies with people playing dual characters michael b jordan robert pattinson robert de niro and i think there's one other one and then like i'm sure this movie was made at the same time and then they're like here's another one but it's still really funny and james marson's in it the act the the action's pretty good also also oh keith david is in it you know keith david yeah yeah hilarious he has some of the funniest lines in the whole thing so you know jimmy tatro yes is it tetro tetro tetro yeah who did like um who drew the dicks what was that one called american vandal he did american vandal yeah and he's in uh 22 jump street 22 jump street he was in scream 7 he plays keith david's son and they well he did and so they have a lot like a lot of good back and forth together he's playing it like super over the top like he's like this like gangster type character yeah but i don't know the movie's good i like it uh and then the top six are movies that you had mentioned number six i'm going with dodgeball five i'm going to go wedding crashers four swingers three made and then anchorman two old school one but like not anchorman two anchorman at number two yes correct thank you yeah thank you anchorman uh the legend of ron burgundy so now that we've gotten through our list and we kind of pick through these things so i know everyone's dying to know if you watch the movie made you will get a glimpse into our personal relationship where v uh vince vaughn is just such a pain in the ass and just like but to the point where like he's so funny that it almost doesn't matter it's a lot it's a lot of shots it's a lot of words yeah hope someone understands and so that i remember specifically like 17 18 year old you was just like if i was having a bad day and you knew i was having a bad day you would fucking needle me to the point where i would either start laughing or want to fight you like that was and i at the fine line it really is and you knew exactly where to get to the line yeah um most of the time sure um and at the time like so john favreau's character is like kind of like he just wants to do his job really well he's got a pain in the ass girlfriend i had a long-term girlfriend at the time who had broken up with me and i was just like and and so in the movie that kind of like happens in the movie too so john favreau's like this like sad sack who's just like trying to do the right thing and that was me and so like you watch these i just remember watching this movie with you and just being like this is almost this is awesome but it's too real i was like wow this is this is like a little close to home when he's he's trying to paint with the girl and he's like you know frogs are purple by the way like that's that is something you would say and i would just like oh my god we ever see a purple park when you when you're asleep we used to go to the bars remember they used to take us to the bars remember all the people we met remember slimmy all the nice people remember all the nice people remember slimmy that was nice with the games over there talking to their old football coach and he's like you know thank you you know you were you were talking to you you were such a what i mean i have heart i just turns around just walks away that football coach is vince vond's real life dad is it really made yeah that would be like us talking to our baseball coach you know our baseball coach would not say that i had heart this will coach basically kick me off what about me yeah say something nice about me what me coach like just no no i think a good a good encapsulation too is the scene where favreau is like saying that he's going to keep boxing and then vince vond's like you said you were going to give up uh if you weren't after 10 fights yeah if you didn't have a winning record and he's like well i'm nine nine and one he's like that's not a winning record he's like it's not a losing record he's like yeah somebody's on a winning record he's gonna go back and forth on nine nine and one it's so good yeah i said if i didn't have a winning record he said well you don't have a winning record so i don't have a losing record somebody said but that's not what you said and then there's the whole exchange about like the per diem so then when they go and they meet like that is unbelievable stuff and and he's just like john favreau's just like you just what and uh what is his name in the movie and he's just like shut up he's like it's your money you keep it it was so peter falk plays uh max but what's john favreau's because he's like he says uh bobby bobby bobby castigliano yeah is everybody in this house fucking bobby castigliano and that again you would give my name if you fucked up you would like say your name was ryan davy and i'd be damn it um is there one of those house named bobby slade and bobby recigliano bobby recigliano is everybody in here named fucking bobby recigliano no and he's like yes that's your per diem and you're like yeah that's my per diem who gets their hands on this and who do i drop that off to then also when he like completely blows their cover or he's like so you must be the red dragon like yeah where's the red dragon keep his head where's he where's the red dragon's lair i was like what which is now why you know yeah but i think that that movie is just it has a special spot in my heart um for that reason um it's also one where like i don't think a lot of people saw it it was in theater for like a second i don't think it made any money at all i like it better than swingers people love swingers and they should i like swingers too it's different yeah it's like yeah i love it but like you know somebody i think those guys might have even said swingers is basically a movie with those two guys where like the stuff that specifically vince vond's character says works whereas in made they have a very similar personalities and yet it's not funny and it's or like people in that world like he's not smooth and people don't like him whereas like they love the character in swingers he's like the man he can do what he wants he's hooking up with girls although he hooks up with Jennifer Esposito in this one and he's very very mean to poor Sam Rockwell Sam Rockwell the fish just take the fucking fish take the fucking fish like throwing the drink at him yeah I'm sorry I'm sorry but get the fuck out I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Although P. Diddy's in this movie. Sean Combs. It was one of his first movie roles. Yeah. Odd. Yeah, it was definitely strange. Faison Love is really funny in it. Very good. And they're very good together. Yeah. Famke Jansen in this movie. It's definitely seen by not as many people. But it's really funny. So I saw it in St. Paul's. And you're like, all right. how many like it's like you me shark bessie woody we had all like we all loved the movie and then like i was hanging out with some of my like golf town friends like months later and like those guys were quoting it too and i was like well that good that a good sign that a good sign i didn think anybody saw this movie it like yeah people people i let more people saw mcgruber than saw the movie made yeah yeah not a lot of people have seen this movie but holy smokes you should i don't know if it's streaming anywhere but it is it's like in and out like i i see it every once in a while and like I always I think it's one of the DVDs I kept oh that's smart because it feels like a movie that might not always be or this could be like a Tubi I could give this a oh look at this it's on Hoopla here you go it's on Hoopla oh it might even be on it says Prime Video but it might be on Prime too definitely give it a watch if you're a fan of this week make it like rewatch we can talk about Made Forever Swingers was kind of like a it was like a monumental kind of like yeah thing for me in like the 90s where i'm like and you find out things after like they didn't have any licenses like there was a there was a story that they tell that they're seeing where they're leaving las vegas and it's just vince bond and john favreau like sitting in a car like they almost got arrested because they were just filming without any permits or anything like it was just like completely gorilla like they were just um they weren't supposed to be filming in casinos they weren't supposed to be doing it and they were just like rolling in shooting quickly and then leaving wow yeah it's crazy and favaro wrote that movie and uh doug lyman was the one that directed it but really really good i i like it a lot um yeah that's interesting because i was also at a time where they they have these stories where right around the same time it was like quentin tarantino uh like john favreau kevin smith like this sort of like like paul thomas anderson like they're all kind of coming up together like this new wave of guys that were like writing a lot of their own stuff some were acting in it some were directing their own stuff and it was like pretty pretty cool time so for vince vaughn some of the movies that didn't make our list so his first like real movie was rudy yeah and as time goes on i remember seeing it first when i was like nine or ten and be like all right this is cool and then by the time high school rolls around you're like rudy's kind of like a little pain in the ass shit and i kind of really like the vince vaughn character way more i think he was on to something yeah and i like he's a pain in the ass and like as a kid you would hate correct on your team and i felt i felt bad saying that it was like yeah i mean the movie's good but you would absolutely if that kid was on this team you would absolutely hate him and then i felt vindicated because like joe montana basically came out and said as much as they're like no no one like this like he was just joe montana said that about rudy yes and he was like yeah the whole thing where like people were like it was a dan devine who came in to get the new coach and he was like he was gonna play he played all the seniors like he played everyone dressed for that game and he's like two people carried him off the field like as a joke yeah it wasn't and he And he was like, he was that kid who would like hit the quarterback. Yeah, you can't do that. Get out of here. You don't do that. But it wasn't like he was just trying his best. Like he was actively being a prick. That's obnoxious. Yeah. So after the hit of, oh, there's also a movie called At Risk, which I never saw. After the hit that Swingers was, Vince Vaughn gets cast in Jurassic Park. He's in The Lost World, which I considered for my top 10. I ended up going with domestic disturbance, but the lost world drastic park is probably the second or third best drastic park. I mean, at the time you're like, yeah, it was probably like the third best drastic park. There was three of them. Um, no, it's the second one. I know, but like it, it's, it's like in the top two, it's three. And it's like, it's in the top two. No, but even now, because the ones they've come out with, despite some of the sweet dino action, aren't as good. No. Um, yeah and this one is just like okay it's fine you know yeah yeah and then he's in a few other movies that kind of like hit or miss but then in 98 he does the shot for shot remake of psycho Gus Van Zandt's psycho where he plays Norman Bates which is an odd choice it what do you think's odder him playing Norman Bates or them being like we're gonna do a shot for shot remake but it's with anthony perkins in the original psycho like he's kind of like this little wiry like nebbish dude to have vince vaughn who's like athletic and tall and like yeah i get it that it's like jarring but it's at the same time like didn't i remember hearing about this movie coming out and being like why it was like gus van zandt who had done some incredibly did google hunting he did a elephant you're doing like all these crazy movies and then you're just like i don't understand why you're doing this yeah i don't i don't know especially like there's so many yeah this is the movie he did right after goodwill hunting to your point this is one where like there are so many horror movies that are just like remakes but not shot for shot and so it's strange um i honestly wonder i may have seen this one first as blasphemous as that may be because I was so scared of movies as a kid and then right around this time, like 98 99 is when I started watching horror movies so like I probably saw H2O before I saw the first one and I probably saw this before that but I remember liking Vince Vaughn a lot and then seeing this movie and being like alright, that was intense and like Julianne Moore and Anne Heche, Viggo Mortensen William H. Macy, it's kind of a crazy crazy cast but that was in there let's see, he also does The Cell with j-lo that was like a big deal i liked this movie when it first came it was just kind of like silence of the lambs but like a kind of like a lawnmower man beats silence of the lambs kind of deal one yeah um and vincent d'onofrio was scary as shit in this movie yeah yeah i wonder if that's when these guys met because then obviously they'd be in movies they'd be in movies later together probably yeah um the prime gig i definitely saw this i think i bought it just because he was in it um he's like what is this this was like straight to dvd he's like a telemarketer yeah probably not great if i can't remember it at all nope uh then oh one's that great year with made uh the cameo in zoolander and domestic disturbance oh three he is in old school which is just like we barely we glossed over but it was both of our number ones and it's it's so good at the time i remember thinking this is the funniest movie i've ever seen yep same um and just like um was it luke wilson is luke wilson right luke wilson is just like the straightest of straight men and i knew i was in for a ride when like in the beginning of the movie he says the seat belt is broken what do you i can't say it because like what do you recommend that i do and the cab driver's response yeah i was you could never do it now and i was like oh my god this movie is incredible yeah we're going for it yeah they're going for it but yeah it's so good because like luke wilson like he says it's sort of the straight guy but like will ferrell is doing like his comedy and it's one of the best characters he's ever had frank peak will ferrell oh yeah but then like vince vaughn's character i liked even more than i like frank the tanks but like frank the tank has a lot of like memorable moments but like vince vaughn's character obviously has all his like quick lines and it's like really funny rapport with everybody then you have jeremy piven playing the bad guy and that's really good um craig kilbourne i thought we locked you in a dumpster yeah i got out i got out but like all the pledges they all have like a line or two that's funny craig kilbourne has like a like a good talk like the whole line of the bathroom like it's really funny i can't tell you how many times i say good talk see out there oh to people when i'm leaving a room incredible yeah um i think one of the hardest laughs i ever had in the theater was when will ferrell shoots the dart in his neck when he's talking to stifler and he just i think i fucking fell on the roll in front of me not even being like not no not hyperbole i think i he goes down he goes through the table like he falls into the other the presence and he and then he pushes the kid out of the way tom's the kid's head out of the way which is why you think he's done yeah and then like he like gets up again and i'm like oh my like this is insane yeah um you foot like your neck it's so it's such it's like the perfect physical comedy because he's like clearly drunk and he's like holding the gun around it's it's stifler's like talking to him and he's like giving him a whole thing he's like these little fuckers get out of line like i give him a little shot and he's like grabbing the fucking whatever monkey or something fuck and then so you're like looking at him you're laughing at him and he's like trying to explain to you how powerful the dart is and like he's like mid-sentence when the thing just shoots him full go in the neck it's perfect and then he's like whoa he goes yes yes his reaction is yes wait wait wait pull what out what a fucking dart in your neck dude it's bad what oh and then yeah when he palms the kid yeah he palms the kid that he goes through the table he goes into the pool fuck it's so good or like when he when he returns the gift that he got him max he gives the kids speeds the kid you got me that one that exact one yeah yeah oh that's also i think the first time we saw the the dan band which ended up popping up in a few movies right and i i feel like it was i remember seeing on their website that they were like we don't do weddings like stop yeah yeah okay everybody's trying to get yeah yeah so good uh but yeah that that's an all-timer that one i haven't seen in a while either but i feel i'm with you oh three and all that also marked the time where not only were dvds like at like the height of their power but it was also easy to find like streams of movies i remember in college just like having a copy of that like not too long after it was in theaters and just like watching it all the time it was like so easy to watch it it was just constantly on somewhere that too that also helps yeah uh let's see old school let's see if you're so then oh four he does starsky and hutch dodgeball the anchorman uh cameo or like kind of a role and then a movie called paparazzi but yeah dodgeball is great because he's like the real lead right like with old school he's sort of like the co-guy uh anchorman he's like like the 10th 11th guy on there but dodgeball he's a true lead good movie pretty fun i mean ben stiller good villain but the two of them together like good stuff yeah and um again you know he's he has these lines that you could tell you could tell when he's like and one of them i remember they're just like talking about the gym and they're losing the gym and whatever he's like listen you know we're just gonna i'm just gonna put on the thong song and we gonna tear this place apart and i said it again like it so quotable and like so yeah it great uh let see thumb sucker in oh five yeah that was a weird movie i saw that movie that was weird d'onofrio also in that one uh be cool which i did not like be cool but vince vaughn was pretty good actually the rock twinkle twinkle baby right twinkle twinkle don't hate participate also a good line yeah yeah yeah that's a good one but then this is also the same year with mr and mrs smith and wedding crashers and he's great again crashers wedding crashers is yeah like jesus christ uh it follows that up with the breakup which we mentioned then he does uh into the wild and fred claws so into the wild it was uh more like again like a cameo like he was he wasn't in it that um fred claus kind of a miss unfortunately yeah they tried to like capitalize on like elf yeah and that didn't work no it didn't really work uh four christmases in 08 which you had mentioned in your top 10 uh couples retreat 09 another one where it's like there's some funny parts i've tried watching this it's like i remember starting this movie with rye and i think we were like dating at the time what time when did this come out this came out in 09 yeah so we were like dating at the time we were watching it and i'm like this is kind of sad like in the beginning it's like this isn't very funny yeah it's just like the couples are always like having problems and whatever and i'm like this is kind of sad we're having problems but at least is it's with it's three other people so this is basically like the grown-ups sandler has grown-ups with like all his movies like not great but there's like a couple lines in it here and there this is Vince Vaughn Jason Bateman John Favreau and phase on love so clearly like four guys are actually like friends I assume and yeah it's it's definitely mixed I I like for Christmas is probably more you know and I think about I think about made and I'm like you know what I would not want to do if my marriage was to the point where like I had to go to like a tropical island to like save it you know who I don't want there you I don't think it would help you would help me at all no not and i wouldn't help you no correct he does the dilemma with kevin james i i just hate kevin james yeah i'm not saying it's not and i would say this too you know as well as anyone our audience knows it's not kevin james's fault yeah it's some fucking lady at a wedding it's not his fault uh then he did the watch remember the watch i wanted this movie to be good it wasn't but it had its moments and this is one that was it was written by seth rogan and evan goldberg it was directed by akiva shaffer from the lonely island and it starred ben stiller vince vaughn and jonah hill and uh richard was it richard adewade who's in the british guy yes yes he's super funny like and like this movie should have been better and it just wasn't uh let's see what else is on this list uh the internship with owen wilson also not my favorite fucking junk fucking show jeans he did have a cameo in anchorman 2 actually he did yeah uh skipping ahead some of these hacksaw ridge you mentioned then there's like a bunch where he's like either not in it a lot or they're just not very good until 2020 when he's in freaky which is a great horror comedy based off of like you know freaky friday friday he and katherine newton switch bodies so he's like a serial killer yes yeah yeah actually pretty good almost made my top 10 i think freaky was a good bounce back for him and then he was in a couple of other movies uh including one terrible movie that came out last year on netflix called nona's which is a true story about a guy who opens up a restaurant in new york city with just like italian grandmothers as the chef and like susan sarandon's in it and lorraine brocco and ellie shire yeah a little cartelini talia shire like it's a good cast and like a good idea but like it's not funny and it kind of just dragged so that was too bad which anyway i was happy to see mike and nick and nick and alice be pretty good so now i feel like he's he's back and maybe we'll see some more uh god i hope so but again somebody who's like personality wise like shapes my person like i think yeah i say you know what i mean you know what i'm saying you get what i mean like i say that he says that a lot and i think that's like it's like part of like i made it like part of my vernacular like i like he's like when i'm trying to be funny and i'm like you know what i mean you know what i'm saying like i and i think that's i I think I get it from him. Yeah, I'm telling you, I think if I had to do like a Mount Rushmore of sort of comedy influences on me, he'd be on there with probably Sandler, Jim Carrey, and then maybe like now, like recently, like Tim Robinson. Yeah. That'd probably be my four guys that like I, whatever they're like. I think you, there's a little bit more Dane Cook than you admit. Oh, Dane Cook, I put on there too. I do love Dane Cook. yeah and dade cook even he had like a little bit like his stand-up had like a little it's like it's on to it yeah he had a little vince vaughn to it like a lot of energy sarcasm like a good amount of sarcasm with both of them so yeah that's another one that's a good one i put that in there um all right anything else uh no i mean this is again we understate it but I think a lot of there are back and forth and a lot of like Favreau and Vaughn I hate to admit it but it all comes from that and I don't think either one of us did it intentionally it just kind of happened that way I agree funny welcome to Paris Pizzeria your blind date is already at the table and here she is Cousin Brenda, what are you doing here? And it can either include our names, it not our names, nicknames, fake names. It could be like a question. It could be, it could be anything. The podcasts are named literally anything. So it's hired by taxi and the monk. What would you, what do you have any ideas? There was a brief moment where in my college career, i was playing open mic nights at saint a's and beyond under the stage name cool ethan yeah that's good um which is a deep pull from the movie slackers which if you haven't seen that movie please do great movie yeah um and that was jason schwartzman's character's name cool ethan yeah so that uh jason schwartzman crushes it in that movie devon sawa uh very good in that movie jason siegel and and the kid from pete and pete yeah how about that um slackers and a young jamie king and uh was it laura prepon was awesome in that movie too great cast yeah um that's another movie i quote all the time but uh yeah so i might lean and i might go back to cool ethan i don't hate it i don't hate it so i need something so like cool ethan and k-gun oh yeah k-gun and coolie so i will tell the story so we had we we were on the worst high school football team ever yeah um and rich keith i will say this it was a dual threat quarterback wide receiver um i was a reluctant quarterback the only reason i played quarterback was because freshman year we had nobody and i was my eighth grade year i was forced to play because like that team sucked too i did not want to be touted touted as a quarterback wide receiver combo and as a young 14 15 year old um 14 yeah and so much so we we hated our quarterback so much that we would intentionally miss blocks and like get him killed um and whenever he got hurt our coach had a selection of plays referred to as the k-gun which you ran it was a lot of like option and like quick the k-gun offense yeah yeah it's not like jim kelly at all it was more for my life but yes yeah it was a good time and me trying to block three people for you at one time yeah yeah that was freshman year we hated the quarterback because then sophomore year hutch came and we liked hutch yeah yeah very much so or he'd beat the hell out of all of us yes he did yes all right next week we'll let you know what we're doing 28 years later bone temple and something else maybe all first two malls maybe first two malls although malls i don't think it's super long might only be six or eight so we'll be doing it in shorter anyway i'm gonna watch yeah i think i'm gonna watch those malls i'm gonna do that right now i'll watch those right after we do this yeah all right good stuff tell a friend tell a dork at dork podcast twitter instagram and youtube you can subscribe on youtube and uh listen on the podcast wherever you get those pods uh thanks so much for listening and rye and everybody else out there stay hard the hashtag dork podcast
