Summary

Episode explores Sasquatch encounters and paranormal activity on a Western New York property. Guest Dominic recounts childhood sightings of an ape-like creature in the woods and extensive supernatural phenomena inside his family's farmhouse, including unexplained sounds, apparitions, and poltergeist activity. The episode also covers the death of paranormal investigator Dan Rivera during an Annabelle doll tour.

Insights
  • Sasquatch sightings often correlate with other paranormal activity, suggesting a potential supernatural rather than purely biological explanation for the creature
  • Eyewitness accounts of cryptids remain consistent across decades and multiple witnesses, indicating either genuine encounters or deeply embedded cultural narratives
  • Families experiencing prolonged paranormal activity develop psychological adaptation, normalizing extraordinary events through repeated exposure
  • Native American historical presence on land correlates with both Sasquatch activity and demonic phenomena, suggesting possible generational or ritualistic origins
  • Skepticism about cryptids parallels historical dismissal of now-confirmed animals (mountain lions, wolves) that were thought extinct in specific regions

It looked like somebody was bent over and had their head in the window of the deer blind. And it either heard me or smelt me. And he pulled his head out of the tent and stood straight up and that that shocked me. They don't make people that that big. The way it moved. Almost as if it was gliding across the beach. I've never seen anything move like that in my life. They were screaming at each other in gibberish. It sounded like a language and they were chunting away back and forth, back and forwards, back and forwards. I know what a bear looks like and there is no way on this planet that what I saw was bears. 911, what are you reporting? Ease is Christ, you better care. See ya. Hello? Get somebody out here. What's going on now, sir? That son of a bitch is about six foot nine, I don't know. Do you see him now, sir? Yes, I'm looking right at him. Welcome. You are listening to the most comprehensive source of Sasquatch behavior in human history. From ancient campfire tales to the digital age. This is Sasquatch Chronicles. The World of the Dead Welcome to the show everyone. Thanks for being here tonight. Have you guys heard about this? Tonight, tragedy at a stop on the nationwide tour of the supposedly possessed Annabelle doll. One of the dolls handlers found dead in his hotel room at the age of 54. Annabelle's next stop, guys, we're custom made. Dan Rivera, a lead investigator for the New England Society for Psychic Research or NESPR, had been exhibiting the Annabelle doll around the country. His colleagues now mourning his death, writing, NESPR is devastated by his passing and is still coming to terms with this profound loss. The cause of death not yet revealed by investigators. The county coroner telling NBC that his death was nothing suspicious. Still, the decades of lore surrounding Annabelle causing a social media craze among those fascinated by the paranormal. The Annabelle dolls handler Dan Rivera just died suddenly during a haunted tour. Something his friend and fellow paranormal investigator Ryan Buell called out. Dan Rivera was a human being and not a plot twist. Annabelle recently made headlines when online rumors spread that the so-called demon doll had gone missing from its display case, usually secured by crosses and holy water. The girl that he was with said that he was laughing about the doll when the motorcycle just like the car went out of control, hit a tree and killed him instantly. Allegedly linked to decades of grisly deaths and paranormal activity. The Annabelle doll is probably one of the most infamous dolls on the planet. Tony Sparrow oversees the Annabelle doll. We spoke to him while the rumors were swirling back in May. He's the protege of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, depicted in the conjuring movies by Patrick Wilson and Vera Freminga. Every family is different. I think that the movies really made the celebrity, if you will, of the doll flourish. The doll is something to be respected, not revered. Online, people connected her supposed powers to fires and even recent jail breaks. I just want to show you guys that Annabelle is in the Warrens and Colt Museum. And it was back in May when Dan Rivera tried to ease fears that the doll had been stolen in a post on TikTok. Annabelle's not missing. She's not in Chicago. Sparrow and his group not connecting Rivera's death to anything paranormal, but previously answering my question. What do you say to the skeptics here who might not really believe that this doll has anything evil inside of it? No, in a way I don't blame people for being skeptical. People don't know about the demonic. It's very difficult to believe that these things are happening, but they do happen. The tragic death, reigniting concern and fascination with the paranormal. As organizers say, the tour, already steeped in superstition, will continue on in Rivera's honor. Yeah, that's tragic. My heart goes out to Dan Rivera and his family. You know, the Annabelle doll was featured in the conjuring, and I never saw the movie, but when you look at the images online for the doll that they used in the movie, it's a scary, female, chucky looking thing. But the real doll, the real Annabelle doll is a Ragnian doll. And the story behind it is back in 1970, there was a nursing student named Donna. She received this doll as a gift. Donna and her roommate Angie began noticing strange occurrence as the doll would move on its own. It would change positions. They claimed that it would leave cryptic messages on parchment paper. And they consulted a medium, and that person identified the spirit as Annabelle Higgins. And it was this young girl who died near where the apartment was built. And so somewhere in this medium's tiny mind, they suggested that the girls allow the spirit to stay with them and truly believed that it was a deceased child. But things kept getting worse and worse and worse the longer they held on to this doll. And there were these paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine Warren. And the Warrens claimed that the doll was demonically possessed. They ended up getting possession of the doll, and they kind of locked it up in their occult museum in Connecticut. And next to the doll, there was this warning sign not to mock it. And the Warrens would tell people to take their pictures and kind of move along. Many people who did mock the doll claimed to have fallen deathly ill, had weird things happen to them. But to my knowledge, there's not been any deaths directly caused by the Annabelle doll itself. I'm not sure if I would go on the road with it like Dan did, but I really don't think it had anything to do with Dan's death. But nobody knows. And I know they're waiting on the corner report. Very sad. Very sad. Tomorrow night, I'll be chatting with John. And he had this encounter in North Carolina. John had told me, he said, I didn't believe in Bigfoot. I thought it was all completely nonsense. And a storm had come through. He had to leave his home. And him and his wife actually ran into the creature. And I'll also be chatting with Marvine, who lives in Central Florida. And it's fascinating when I was talking to Marvine, a lot of the weird stuff going on inside the home is actually happening with my guest tonight, Dominic. But here's a little clip from my conversation with Marvine. And again, this is in Central Florida. So as I rode along, Paine started really being hyper. He was really being hyper. And throwing his head up and snorting. And as we got up there and he's dancing around, I decided to look back behind me because I felt like I was being looked at. And I see this stump off to the side of the trail, probably 10, 15 feet off the trail. I just rode down. And I said, no, how in the world did I just pass that up when I'm looking for something to get off of this sweaty horse? So, you know, I just thought no more about it and rode on up there and got off and, and tighten the cinch. And this horse was 17 hands. Well, I'm five foot one, so I'm not going to get to reach up there with my feet. That's why I was looking for a rock or something to slide off so I could get back on the horse. So as I'm sitting there trying to tighten his cinch, he's, he moves around and snorts and looks back down that trail. Well, the only thing I'm thinking is somebody has to be down there because he's not going to act like that or something. So I went on ahead and tighten it up real fast and I got up on the rock to slip. I hit my leg over and just as I sling my leg over, I realized that this. What I thought was a stump. It wasn't. It was in the middle of the trail now. And I'm trying to see, I'm trying to figure out what this thing is, you know, and I'm like, that's not a bear. My horse at this time, he starts really fighting me for, for his head. So then this thing stands up and I can see it's on two legs and its ears are. I can see the ears and it kind of cocked its head to the side because I was, I was trying to figure out what it was and I was fighting my horse and he just, he just stepped forward. And my guest tonight, Dominic, who's from Western New York, had a lot of weird stuff going on in the home, but him and his nephew had actually seen the creature on two different occasions. Also, these weird lights on the property. I'll kind of like Dominic go into it. If you've had an encounter and you'd like to be on the show, shoot me an email. The email address is west at Sasquatch Chronicles.com. And if you get a chance, check out Sasquatch Chronicles.com. You can become a member and get additional shows. Let's jump into it tonight. I want to welcome Dominic to the show. Dominic, thanks for coming on. Yeah, Wes, for sure. So, how do you grow up on this piece of property there in Western New York? If you would tell me a little bit about the property and kind of walk me into these weird experiences with these creatures that you and your nephew had. And then we'll talk about some of the weird stuff going on inside the home. We lived in Western New York. It technically was a mailing address of Angelica, but the town we were on was the town of Allen. But it was so small, we didn't even have a post office. So that's why we have that Angelica address. Yeah, we had like an old farmhouse. It was like a five bedroom, two bathroom house. And I come from a family of nine, nine siblings. And we had 10 acres. On each side of us was two neighbors and they were both hunters. And they each had 250 acres. And they told us, you know, as long as it's not hunting season, we can go out there and do whatever we want. And they had well maintained trails, all this. And so as kids, you know, my oldest sister, you know, is actually about 40 years old now or in her 40s. And so she had kids my age. I'm currently 25. So I have a nephew, six months younger than me. Me and him grew up together and would always be out in the woods. And honestly, my mom didn't really care at all. Like just go out have fun, explore. And we do all sorts of stuff that we probably shouldn't have. And I guess that's kind of leading into the story was I was probably only nine, eight or nine years old. And me and him had this little fort. We'd sneak boards for my dad and we'd build them inside of the trees and kind of just they're more like seats, you know, and not really, not really that sturdy. And we were, you know, we'd be up in the trees and there was this area that had, I don't know, like five or six pine trees that would kind of we're in a circle around it. And that's where we decided to have this little fort. But the trees were so close together that you could see the trail on the other side of them but not you could hardly see it because of all the underbrush. It's cold out. It's like late October, early November. It was really misty and you know just that cold in the air like it would sink into bones. I remember I was like, we got to start a fireman. And so we sneak inside and my mom and my older sister just talking and we kind of get this pot because I had this idea. We can't keep a fire because pine needles learning from experience were super flammable. So we built this little rock circle thing in the middle. And my idea was to get the rocks from the road and put it in this pot, light the fire for only 10 minutes, let these rocks heat up and we'd have heat. And so we did that. But as we're going back and forth getting these things from the house, also trying to get a hold of a lighter. On our way back, we just looked up and one of these tree branches was like moving and I saw this face still to this day it's like kind of like imprinted into my memories. I don't know for certain what I saw, but I just see this gorilla face looking in at us. And it was like probably eight feet above. If you were in the tree, you'd have to climb up eight feet. And all I saw was this little opening in the tree and I saw it looking at us. And I was like, man, we got to run and I grabbed them and we were running back to the house. But now we have this fire in there that's going and we got to put that out unattended. And so we was like, well, what I had like a crazy pocket knife collection of all sorts of stuff, all sorts of knives. I'm like, here, you take this one and I had like us almost a machete thing and we go back out and we're trying to see if we can still see it, but it must have left when we ran. And so we kind of went back in and one of us, we all had our heads on a swivel pretty much wondering where this thing went. But I can still remember the face of it. Like in my memory, it's like dark hair all around its face and its face was an ash. Like if you were to put a fire out that ash look at the bottom of like a furnace when you have to clean them, kind of had an ashy face to it and black eyes, like no white around them. And that's just what I saw and probably only for five seconds and we ran out of there. And that would be the first encounter that I had and I still don't know what it was. Maybe it was just our imaginations playing tricks on us. And I asked him if this morning, because I told him I contacted you and I was like, hey, Austin, like, they're playing in our fort and we saw that. Oh, yeah. He actually reminded me of another time we were in there and we saw these red eyes peering in. But I didn't see the eyes. He was the one that saw that. So, but he got creeped out again and we booked it out of there. You know, through many eyewitness reports, you'll often find these creatures kind of approaching kids and really watching them. And I don't know if it's something nefarious or if it's just curiosity. I would say with most eyewitness reports, it seems like it's more curiosity. But you guys are like eight, nine years old at this point. What did you think it was? I told him later on, I was like that. I think I told my dad about it. That sounds like a big foot, you know, like that's and then I learned about big foot and he actually we would start watching these those monster quest things later on in life. But I don't think I don't know if I was introduced to them yet. I just figured it was a gorilla. It kind of reminded me of that old. It's an older film now, 20 years old or so that Tarzan film Kerchak. I don't know if you're familiar with that. But the Kerchak is the dad gorilla, the head gorilla of their little clan that they have. And he that's kind of what it reminded me of because he has, I believe it's black eyes in there and that weird like mane over his head. That's kind of what I saw looking at us from just the face. It reminded me of an adult like a like an older like animal, I guess. And like I said, if you were to climb up into the tree to that little opening because not much light would really come in. It was pretty dark in there. Like I said, like the trees kind of made like a circle around it. And when the underbrush was like taller, you couldn't even see the trail on the other side. So if you would have to probably climb up in the tree six or eight feet to get to where I saw that head looking at. So basically it would have been standing on the outside of the trees, hearing it, you know, you know, it really is amazing the impact that encounters have on people. You know, here we are what 17 years later is still fresh in your mind. And you find that with a lot of eyewitnesses. Tell me, tell me about the second encounter. That was probably I want to say, maybe maybe the next summer or later summer, we were going to camp out on our property. Like I said, like we could have went anywhere, but we kind of chose like not too far from the house, probably 60 yards or so in the corner of our yard. And then we had a hayfield and the hayfield was surrounded by thick trees. And I'll tell you what was those were awesome. That was an awesome childhood to explore that that land. And later on I hunted it and all that. So him and I are like bringing tents out, bringing, you know, making several trips. So we're probably nine or 10 now, because this is later. And some caught our eye in the field and the sun is setting because it's kind of a last minute idea that I asked my mom if we could do. And the sun is setting and we see that like black figure, almost silhouette, like, like pretty deep in our field. And it was like, oh, there's a bear out there. And then I'm like, I can't really make it out and we stop and we're whole. We like set our stuff down our camping supplies. And we're like trying to make it out was like, Hey, I got some binoculars. I got I had an old pair. So they're not the greatest. Like they're just darn near kid toys, but a little better, you know, something you'd probably get from Walmart for 30 bucks. We were looking through these and you could see it a little better and it was still kind of wobbled. Like the way it walked was strange and it didn't look like a bear because it had these broad shoulders and it was like almost sitting like, like its rear was more towards the ground. And it's back kind of boat in and, you know, like from it was just the shape of it that we could see. And it turned and when it turned, you could see like the head and the wide shoulders and that's not a bear. Like they're not it's it was massive. And I like if you were looking in a field later at night and you saw a bull, like you just see that big black blob basically in the middle of the field. That's what it would have looked like. But there were no farms, especially bull farms. New Yorkers has a lot of dairy farms. And we didn't have any farmers that close to us at all. So I was like, it's not a bull or cow or anything like that. It was just and you could see the impressions of like almost like a gorilla. And I'll bring it back to that Kerchak look and in that Tarzan film. He's like the silverback gorilla that is the prominent male. And that's kind of what I remember. And I asked him this morning as well. He's like, oh, yeah, I remember that. He was like, you should bring up the fact that when it walked, they almost looked like, you know, a drunk guy moving around, like going back and forth. And then so we go back inside. Because I was going to show my older siblings and they come back out and it's gone. It just went away. So but I'm so glad he was there because he has a would remember. Both you and your cousins kind of describe the the movement like a drunk guy. Was it something weird about its gate that you hadn't seen before? Or did it actually move like a drunk guy? I think it was a way it kind of swayed like like it wasn't it when it turned it kind of like was like lazy about it. I don't really know like and just kind of I don't know how to explain it like just. You know what it almost like staggers like if you see a drunk guy, maybe just lazily walks or favors one side and turns around almost trips. It kind of looked like it was doing that number a little bit. I don't know a better way to explain it. But he like that's what he said. He was like it's kind of like a strange walk it had. And it sucks like the adults couldn't see it because they probably would have maybe had a better idea of what they're looking at. And it wasn't like laying. It was too big. And that's a thing like if it got up, it would have been huge. Like we had black bear and I've seen him as a kids and grown up and you could kind of tell like it's a bear from that distance. But it was too big to be a black bear. But I think black bear get especially around there maybe a big one would be 400 pounds. This was like I said big enough you think it'd be like an eight foot. You know, and the black bear just don't get that big. Yeah, nothing about it sounds like a black bear. Most makes you wonder if the creature was actually injured. I've heard of weird movements, but usually the eyewitness will say it appeared to be injured. I know you guys are at kind of a distance away. You guys also saw the lights on the property. But was this the last time you saw the creature? That was the last time I did. Yeah. So this this would have been probably a little after that I guess. So the lights was this. And I even called my sister just to make sure I don't have any holes here. She was the main one that would see them and we all would see them, especially my dad did as well. So I guess I'll tell the first time my dad saw them because that one was a little more interesting, I think. So there's this tree that would be you'd walk out of our house and we had a well right in front of the porch. And this tree grew alongside the well probably like four feet to the left if you were standing on our front porch. And that tree at night sometimes would glow specifically that tree. And my dad woke up because there was it was in the middle of the winter and these rocks were getting hooked at our roof. And he assumed there's a plow truck to just zoom by because he saw that light. So he went out to see because OK, we lived on a seasonal road. So the first probably half mile dirt road was plowable and it was kind of, you know, it was still a mountain like side. But the other end we actually called it Mount Doom from Lord of the Rings was so steep that if plow trucks in the past tried would try and plow it and they'd roll their vehicles. I don't know what grade it had, but it was pretty significant. So they just closed that side of the road off in the winter. And so there was a plow turnaround. And when that light was on the tree, it woke him up and then all these rocks are hitting. He thought a plow truck was cruising through there and the rocks from our dirt road flung up and hit the house. And he was worried it was a new driver and he was going to roll his vehicle, you know, his plow truck. And these aren't like little plow trucks we have in Kansas. These are the big boys, probably what you guys got up and watching. So he gets in the truck and the first thing you notice, there's no tire tracks in the freshly laid snow. He's like, that's weird. But he sees the light at the top of the hill. And he's like, there's some mob there. So he goes up to the plow turnaround. Once you're up there, you can kind of see down and he follows it and then it disappears. Like he said, it's a shot out and you got to remember on each side of the road, there's probably, I don't know how tall the trees are, but it kind of is just a shield of trees going all the way down. And when you're at the top, you can see the bottom, right? Because you're on a cliffside almost and the light just shot down and disappeared. So he was like, that's weird. So we had those rocks getting thrown and then that weird light and he tried to chase it, didn't see it, but he could see it like blinking at the bottom or changing color and then it disappeared, like vanished. And so that same tree, my sister was telling me this morning, she's like, oh guys, look at the light in that tree. The tree would like glow like a blue or red. And she always assumed it was the TV of my mom and dad's bedroom reflecting off of the tree. And she said it used to give her like peace, like she'd fall asleep to it like all the time. And she was a bit older too. She's probably a teenager. I believe she's like eight years older than me or so. But one time she was like, I don't know why, but I went and checked to see if mom and dad were off. And she was like, there was no TV on in the room. There was nothing like that. And these lights were glowing and changing color on that tree. So it's kind of interesting that it's just that tree. And that tree, you had that light, stones are being chucked to the house and dad wakes up, you know, like so. All those kind of combined are, I think, fairly interesting. And all of us as kids, we still don't really know what it was. And there was a lot of strange activity on the property. It's really interesting that at the same time your father was seeing this light, these rocks were being thrown. And I've actually had a few people tell me that off the air that they had rocks thrown at them when they were actually seeing these lights, but they couldn't figure out what was thrown on the rocks. Did you guys start seeing the lights after you and your nephew had seen the creature? Yeah, I would say it was around that time or slightly before or after, you know, those lights show up. And I know both your sister and your father had talked about the light changing color. But like your dad, did he ever see how big it was? And was it a solid color before it started changing colors? I don't think it was like a small, it was like the tree, you know, it was probably, if I had to, you know, I don't really want to put words in her mouth, but I would assume it was like, you know, like a foot by a foot, you know, and it was just enough to glow one side of the tree and for you to see it out of the window. It wasn't a big, I don't think it was round or anything like that. It just seems like it just lit up to that side of the tree, whatever this was. Yeah, I wonder what it was about the tree, why it mainly hung around that tree. It's a little weird about the rocks being thrown at the same time seeing the light. And a lot of eyewitnesses talk about the lights. Oftentimes when they have Sasquatch or weird things going on on their property, they'll often bring up the lights. Even my guest tomorrow night, Marvine, she talked about her and her husband used to sit out on the porch and watch these lights kind of come down the mountain. And they had no idea what they were. Mr. I mean, what's your take? What do you think the lights are? I don't know. I honestly don't know what those would have been. I know like, maybe it was, you know, us kids leaving our toys out, you know, and maybe it's one of those press a button and it lights up, toy shining at the bottom of the tree, but it was too consistent for it to be that we would have moved it. I honestly have no idea. And the rocks, you know, that's interesting because you'd think maybe for a while I used to take like a helicopter looking for like maybe a missing person or something like that, but you would hear the chopper and you wouldn't, it wouldn't just shine on that one tree always. And it's that's, I think, maybe more interesting is that it's just that tree. But that house, like it had a lot of weird things about it. Like we always thought it was a haunted because, for example, me and my brother one time, we're just kind of chilling watching a movie. And this is my older brother. He's two years older than me. And I'm the second youngest. So he's the third youngest and I have a younger sister who went to a school in Kansas at this time, a Catholic school in Kansas boarding school. So she's gone. It's just me and him at the house. My dad is a trucker. My mom passed away when I was like 12. So we kind of had the house to ourselves and we're watching a movie. And then all of a sudden we get like someone ringing our doorbell. And like I said, our neighbors are hunters. So they're seasonal. They're seasonal neighbors. They'll be back in the summer every now and again for like Labor Day weekend or fourth of July and just maybe random weekends, whenever they could. And then hunting season. That was their thing. So we didn't have ding dong ditches, so to speak. And we both got up and we opened the door. Nothing was there. And so we shut the door again. Like that's weird. And then I'm like, you know what, if this is someone like trying to mess with me, I'm going to grab my shotgun and wait for it. So we got a shotgun thing. We opened up the door and there was a knock to on the door to like somebody was trying to get a hold of us. And then I ran out and just kind of ran up our sidewalk that we had with the gun. And I'm like, Hey man, whoever's out here. It's probably 10 o'clock at night. Like if anybody's out here, I got a gun and I use it a lot. So like if you're going to mess with us, like it'd be wise to stop, you know, like, because I don't know what it is. If someone's trying to mess with us, break into the house or whatever. And it didn't happen again after that. But what's interesting is it was kind of around that same time period. I had my buddies over from school and we were going to go hunting. So they all drive their, you know, you're 16, 17, you get to just get your license. They'll drive their vehicles over parked on the side of the road. It was probably December because there was a foot or two, maybe even three foot of snow on the ground. One of them parks in the driveway. We had a pretty long driveway and the rest park on the side of the road. And we go in and I went down past in the corner of the field and into our tree stand and just kind of tried to call the coyotes in. We heard them didn't get any that night. You know, they were all around. So we had back and then Brennan, my buddy Brennan, he's like, who, who the f is messing with my truck? Because all of his doors were swung open. He's like, I locked that. And so we go up and we all have our guns, you know, and it's just dinging. Every single door was swung open and it was locked. And he was like, are you trying to play trick on me? And we're all we're all in the same tree stand that whole time. And so, like, we're like, maybe someone broke in. He was like, it's probably those effinomish people, you know, I don't think you want swearing on your show. That's why I'm using the F instead. It's probably those effinomish people. I'm like, man, those guys don't steal. I knew them. Plus you'd see buggy tracks and horses, you know, and there was nothing. And so we just swept a big perimeter, like kind of like a hunting thing, you know, like, and we swept a whole area looking for footprints or anything. The only thing we saw was a little rabbit that ran by. And he's like, that's weird, man. And that's when I told them about some of the other stuff that happened on that Dorvitt Road house, like with the hauntings and just strange things you'd hear in the middle of the night or knocks on your window or from that to seeing these creatures or whatever they are, demons or stuff like that, walking around the house. Yeah. And you were telling me some of the stuff that went on in that home. And if you don't mind, I'd like to go into it, but did all that weird stuff in the home, did that stuff happen the moment you guys moved in? Or was there a period of time where it just started happening? It kind of was just random throughout the year. And us kids, when we were all at the house, we'd wake up and kind of every now and again at the table, we'd be like, so what happened to you last night? You know, like, there's always something. I didn't really plan on getting into any of that, but I could probably tell you some more about it if you want to hear about it. Yeah, I would love to hear more. Just kind of a side note, that is kind of weird about your friend's truck and you guys coming back and all the doors are open. But yeah, if you would tell me about some of the things that happened in the home. So for me, I'll tell some of my stories like I remember. So I'm a Catholic, I believe in God and all that. And I would go to bed and I was scared of that. Like I was scared of inside the house more than whatever was lurking in the woods. That was for sure. And one night, you know, I went to bed and my uncle Dave was staying with us at the time. And my dad was over the road. And so I slept downstairs underneath the steps like it was like a smaller room. Not quite Harry Potter like but yeah, it's a small room under the steps. And so you could hear people walking up and down. And so my uncle Dave also stayed on the first level of the house because he was a bit older and couldn't get up and down the stairs. So I go to bed and I just hear like a big bang upstairs. Like someone jumped off of off a bed, you know, into the middle of the floor. And I'm like, what the hell? Nobody's home. Nobody's home. And I was the only guy there, the only sibling at the time, because I stayed in New York the longest in that house. And so I'm like, that's not uncle Dave. Maybe I better check on him. Maybe he fell and maybe it wasn't coming from upstairs. Nope. He was in his room listening to his radio that he always listened to. So I go back into my room and then there it is again, like another bang. And this time it was almost so heavy that like, you know, like the you might have like popcorn type ceiling, like some of that white drywall, I guess, like kind of settled down with dust. I was like, dang, then I hear it just slowly coming down the stairs. You know, like when you hear a dog walk on like per go floor, you'll hear like the claws hitting and going tick, tick, tick. And it was just slowly coming down the stairs. And I was like, that's it. I'm out like it was a middle of the night. I called my sister that lived in Silver Lake or Perry, New York. And I'm like, this is what's going on. And something's happened to all of us. I was like, I just don't, I can't stay here. Like I was like, I got to go. So I leave. And I didn't ever see anything come down the stairs, nothing like that. But it sounded like it would have been a tall human with like claws or something on its feet because I could hear the click coming down the stairs. Another time for me, I was 15 and I was home alone again. I forget, I think some of my family members went to the store at this time. And I was just playing the PlayStation. It's just chilling, you know, and I hear like a wolf howl coming from upstairs. I'm like, what the, and I shut it off immediately. And then there was again, it was just a. I was like, okay, like I froze, you know, like when you can almost hear the clocks ticking because it gets so quiet. I was like, again, I just left and I didn't even have my license. I jumped into one of my dad's vehicles and drove up the road and just parked. I was like, I'm not going up there to see what that is. And we didn't have dogs in the house. We didn't came from upstairs and it just, it was enough to just make me run, you know, and I've been in the woods and I would hunt deer. You'd hear stuff. This was a bit different. Like you just did not want to be in that house. I didn't even grab a gun because I didn't think it was an animal. While there was no way it was just an animal that's just hanging out upstairs, you know, that we don't have. And then another time I wake up and this is around the same time period. And I see a man standing at the foot of my bed holding a top hat without a head. That was just one and I like got up and I ran out my bedroom and I was going to use the bathroom. My dad was up and I stood right there and I looked at him because when he would go over the road, sometimes he'd have to wake up at like 3am. And he was making toast. And I was like, dad, I just saw this crazy thing and my dad believed all of it because he, I don't know what all he's seen. You know, and I'm older at this point, you know, 16, 17. And I'm like, I don't know what to think of it, you know, like, is like, yeah, sometimes you just see crazy things or hear crazy things. And another was I had a girl, well, she's an actual friend now come over meet my dad and my uncle Dave that was there at the time. And I was like, yeah, we're going to have a movie night. And so we're all kind of hanging out. We turn on TV and then we just we're trying to find something to watch, you know. So actually we didn't have like Netflix because you couldn't get internet out there. And as far as I know, you still can't. And so we had like the old DVD rack. And so we're trying to look and I'm pulling on out saying, what about this one now, whatever the whole nine yards. And then we just hear it again up someone upstairs just jump on the middle of the floor. And my ex-girlfriend at times like, what was that? You guys don't have pets. And I was like, because I've told her about some of the stuff in the house and she's so spooked. But I'm like, oh, it's dad was like, oh, it's just the demons again. And I'm like, yeah, I'm going to go up there and look. And then we heard it again. And it sounded like something broke, like it knocked something down. And then it ran across. I was like, okay, someone's in our house and I ran upstairs and I opened up the door to this hallway that would open up to a library and then come into bedrooms. So I opened that door and I looked for something or someone and didn't see anything. And then in the middle of the floor, there was a statue of Jesus with his head broken off. There's and it sounded like someone sprinted. Then you're boom. And then the break of a stat the statue like someone just ran up, grab the statue and shocked it on the ground. Man, at the first sign of that stuff going on, I would have been out of there. Probably go live in my car. But I know it's easier said than done. Not everyone's in that position, especially when you have a family is kind of hard to up and leave. The the figure that you saw without its head, was it just like a black mass? No, it was like an old school person, like almost like kind of vest. Like almost like it was like an old, you know, early 1900s, like farmer wearing a vest. It looked solid. And then I like, well, it was at the foot of my bed. So I kind of like moved back and I looked, I swore at it actually, and then it disappeared. It messed with me as a kid for sure. Like I didn't like it at all. And still to this day, I won't watch those demonic movies or anything like that because it's just, I know how real it is. And same with all my siblings, they know how real it is. And we just don't mess with it anymore. You know, it's interesting. And a lot of these demonic encounters from eyewitnesses I've talked to, it seems like the demon really focuses in on one person, usually the weakest. But in this situation, everyone's seeing it. Yep. Yeah. It happened to my sister, the worst. We'd call her room the demon room. And she would, she basically stopped staying there or sleeping in there and just slept with my other sisters for like a few years. You know, she was kind of excited because a big family, you don't all have your own room. So she did because she was the oldest girl at the house. And but then she just gave that right up and stayed with my sisters a lot of the time. One of her stories is kind of nutty. She was exceptionally well at the violin. She would practice in her room, the demon room kind of turned into her little music area too. And she would tell me like it was weird Dom because I had this sense that they wanted me to play certain songs. And I like I would get this weird sense like I have to play this song. Or and I might be mistaking but maybe even some of the pages turn to certain old music. And so she would play that song and she'd feel the sense of like kind of a sense of clarity, I guess, when she would play the song. And like this is better than art, making them aggravated, I guess. She would be a good person to have on like if you wanted to hear more paranormal stuff. She has so many strange bone chilling stories that just was nasty. Yeah, I would love to have her on. And I know that so much went on in this home is kind of hard to like compact it into like an hour, hour and a half. But give me some examples that happened to your sister. Well, one. This time where she had the these little people that she would call them. That sat on her dresser and she woke up and she saw them. And they were telling her that the big big person is coming. The big one is coming. And she didn't think anything of it. But then one night, her closet door opened and someone a man walked out of there and kind of stood at the front foot of her bed. And she said it stunk like eggs or like sulfur. And I guess I had charred skin and I believe she sat up and like couldn't move. So it kind of sounds like it could be a potential sleep paralysis thing. But then what's weird is I believe she said something about a glowing figure to the left of her bed. And then she kind of spoke, but what she spoke was Latin. And then this thing got pissed off and disappeared. But she doesn't know Latin, obviously, but we're familiar with it, but she doesn't know what she said. And she just started speaking Latin at it and it got mad and ran away. My brother's seen like this dude that had like really hairy legs walking around. Like, you know, as a person and walked into my mom and dad's room and he recalls sitting on the couch, kind of chilling there, reading spelling words, you know, like practicing spelling. He probably was in fourth or fifth grade. And he looked up and my sister, there was a mirror on their door. She would go out and see if she looked okay in it, maybe try on the different clothes because I think she was going to violin practice. And then he looks up and he sees these like old wool knitted socks. And it was like a man in them and it was like a leather base, I guess. And it just stood like at the top of the stairs. So all you could see was probably like knee down. And he said it was like the hairiest legs and it opened up my mom and dad's room and went in there. So he runs up there and opens up the door and no one's in my mom and dad's room. That is weird. You know, I'm finding from talking to so many eyewitnesses that have these paranormal experiences. Because when I used to think of a ghost, I would think of something see-through like an apparition. And some people do see that, but I will say most people see something solid. They think it's a person. You know, your sister's room, you guys called it the demon room. Was that just because so much went on in there? Yeah, yeah. There would be, I mean, if you went up there, there's a, so that girl married a guy from Kansas, you know, and that's kind of how we start coming out here. And he had his brother come over, it was Thanksgiving, and we were telling him these, so many stories and we'd freak people out because we were very used to it. Looking back, it's kind of strange how, how just normal it was, but you live around it, you know? And we would tell them and we're, it must have been like one in the morning and workers creeping this guy out. And, and I was like, by the way, that door in the morning, there's this closet door. I was like, no matter what that door is open in the morning, the locket, you could do this. And then we were given a rundown of what would happen in the house. And as those words come out, that door just goes boom and opens up. This guy, he's a, he was a, he's probably six, two, six, three, two, 40. And he just puts the blankets over his head like he's eight. He was like, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, he's like freaking out. And we're like, Corey, man, it's okay. Like it's just to open up a door. And also the piano bench kind of slid out too. And he's like, this is nutty, man. And I was like, that's not it. Yeah, it is kind of weird how we become accustomed to stuff like this. I could see, you know, when it goes on daily, the weird becomes a normal. I've even experienced that where people have Sasquatch on their property and you'll hear a whoop or a scream or, you know, I perk right up. Well, these people have had this going on for years and this is nothing. They don't even flinch. It is kind of weird how we become accustomed to it. Was anyone ever hurt by this entity? It sounds like it was more than one, but was anyone ever hurt? I don't, you know, we had a priest come and bless the house, which is not an exorcism. I believe it was just a blessing. And he was sprinkling his holy water around. And when he flung it around in the kitchen, because I guess when you do those, you have to go to every room in the house. And, you know, I guess it's a thorough thing. And he sprinkled this holy water in the kitchen and one of the chairs just backed out and like slid against the wall. Like it got hit by it and it was mad. And then he kind of looked at us and this priest was a funny guy. He just raises one eyebrow and he's like, huh, keeps on trucking like he was used to it. After he came in, did all of this just kind of stop? For a bit, yeah, for maybe for a little while. But then I think whatever they came back or whatever you want to call it was even maybe slightly more aggravated. But like I said, it wasn't like I don't think he did in a full exorcism. It was just a blessing. So why do you think that this house was haunted? I mean, what do you think caused it? You know, I don't know. My mom had some speculations about it. There's this guy Barry was his name. He married one of my aunts. And this is what she said. Well, my dad told me later on because obviously she wasn't going to tell, you know, 12 year boy this, but my dad told me later on that she was always under the impression it was. So I had a uncle Barry who was like into witchcraft, I suppose. I don't really know what to call it or whatever you want to call him. And so he married my aunt, but they were getting a divorce because he kind of was a nut job, I guess. He was so mad. And he came over our house once and she thinks after he came there, he did something because after it left, it wasn't the same. And I recall as a six year old, you know, we go to one of my cousins wedding in Syracuse, New York, which was probably about three and a half hours away. He was there. I remember sitting on the couch with him and I was talking to him. He was like, hey, how are you doing? Whatever, you know, just small talk. He wasn't a bad guy to talk to, you know, I'm like, what is this? And I like go into this like shelf in the closet. And I grabbed this doll. I was like, this is a spooky doll. It almost looks like my aunt Helen. And he's like, that's because it is your aunt Helen. And I was like, and I dropped it. I didn't know what that meant. But later on when my mom's saying about all this stuff that he was doing, that it kind of spooked her out. And I told my dad that story. And, you know, as a kid, that's what made him tell me the rest of the stuff what my mom thought of him. I don't really know how to explain it. And I don't know if that might just be a lousy excuse for stuff. But that was always what she thought. And so I don't know. Do any of us really know? I mean, to me, it's there's definitely supernatural. Like I believe in, you know, I'm a Catholic. I believe in the Catholic faith and there definitely are supernatural stuff that priests will talk about and whatnot. So I definitely believe in that aspect of things. But yeah. No wonder why your aunt divorced him. What a freak show. I mean, you know, a lot of times in these situations, I think that this sort of thing has to be invited in, whether that's intentional or unintentional. And a lot of times in these encounters, if you keep backing up and keep backing up, you can usually find a moment where you can kind of trace it back to a certain instance. I don't think it's a lazy explanation. Your aunt's ex-husband doing some weird doing something to punish her for divorcing him. What a weirdo. I wanted to ask you what you think Sasquatch is. But before I do, because I know even in your encounter, you're not first to say, Oh, it was Sasquatch. I saw something that looked like a gorilla and half man, half gorilla. And I don't know what it was. But going back to those creatures for a moment, do you think that they were related to what was going on in the home? I think potentially it could be. So part of me wants to say it's there. It's an animal that we haven't discovered because I've seen it and it looked like an animal. What I've seen of it looked like an ape that you'd see in the zoo. And it was that physical. But then because of all the other supernatural stuff that I experienced and my whole family has, I can't help but feel like maybe it has a connection there. And one of my theories was on it, and this might be out there throwing something crazy out there. The old Native Americans kind of would do their rituals and some like in the religious side of things would call them satanic rituals. When you do stuff like that, apparently you can leave behind consequences and those could be demonic things like that was happening. And this could be a part of that. And so my notice was everywhere there's a lot of Sasquatch activity. It seems to always fall back right by Native Americans. It just seems like they're so closely connected. And maybe there is a side of it that is a supernatural side and they are walking demons essentially. And some people they really terrorized from the sounds of it. And that's kind of what happens when you have a haunted house. So it's just kind of it's almost like the creepy demon thing lurking the woods. But I would love to believe the other side that it's an animal and like a true creature that, you know, like I always bring up to people in Kansas. There was supposed to be no mountain lines of any sort. But over the past few years, everybody's like, I saw a mountain line, even elk. Like and it wouldn't be far fetched to say they're not in Kansas, especially the western part is closer to Colorado, but we're closer to Kansas City, the eastern side. Like so now you're seeing all these sightings of mountain lines. Now imagine if a mountain lion never existed. And you said you saw a mountain line. People would say you were crazy and look at the numbers of how many of them could potentially be in Kansas. And then imagine there's a there's a kind of a healthy population of them in the US. Imagine if there was a tenth of that in the US and they go through places, you would never hardly ever see them. People that do would be called crazy or maybe even conspiracy theorists. And that's the boy who cried wolf essentially, you know, I've been in that scenario of the boy who cried wolf because I actually saw a wolf in our on our land. And sure enough, I bring it to school. Everybody's laughing at me because a lot of us were hunters. And there was one kid in there, Adam, he's like, my dad's a DEC officer. And he actually said he put them in Allegheny County not too long ago to help with deer population. I'm like, well, I don't like that. I was like, I'm gonna shoot them. He's like, you can't you can't hunt them illegal. I was like, that's ridiculous. Just extend hunting season like three weeks, you know, we'll take care of it ourselves and have extra food for it. But so now I know I saw a wolf. But tying into all of that, I think Sasquatch could be a real flesh and blood creature that is ape like. And we have no idea because we can't capture one. It doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Yeah, you bring up some good points, Dominic, for sure. And I'm with you. I really want it to be an animal. I'm just kind of, I'm not so sure about that. But that's what I want it to be. And, you know, I know the home where you lived, it was Native American land at one time and maybe some of that stuff went on. Maybe there was generational curses. Look at Skinwalker Ranch and then go look at the history of the two tribes that were fighting with each other in that area. And the claims of one of the tribes cursing that land. And that kind of explains what's going on at Skinwalker Ranch. I mean, I don't know how else you explain what is actually going on there, but you might be onto something, man. I know that you didn't come on to talk about the paranormal stuff. It was mainly the Bigfoot encounters, but I really appreciate you taking the time, not only share the Bigfoot encounter, but also share the weird paranormal stuff that was going on in the home. I really enjoyed chatting with you. Yeah, for sure. Thanks again, Dominic. And that's it for tonight, everyone. Remember, if you've had an encounter, shoot me an email. My email address is west at Sasquatch Chronicles dot com. And if you get a chance to check out Sasquatch Chronicles dot com, you can become a member and get additional shows.
