Summary

Dan Patrick discusses the 2024 NFL quarterback class redraft, analyzing how Drake May's stock has cooled after the Super Bowl despite nearly winning MVP, while Caleb Williams emerges as the top choice. The show also covers the Patriots' challenging upcoming schedule, Super Bowl gambling transparency concerns, and NCAA basketball highlights including Kansas's upset of #1 Arizona.

Insights
  • Super Bowl losers face significant roster and scheduling challenges; Patriots' transition from easy to first-place schedule mirrors historical 60% playoff miss rate for Super Bowl losers
  • QB draft class valuations are highly volatile and stock-dependent on playoff performance; Drake May's MVP-caliber season followed by doubts shows recency bias in player evaluation
  • Halftime show spectacle (Bad Bunny) overshadowed Super Bowl LX narrative, suggesting entertainment value now competes with game quality for long-term cultural memory
  • Gambling transparency in professional sports creates regulatory gray areas; billions wagered on Super Bowl outcomes warrant disclosure standards comparable to securities markets
  • College basketball's blue blood programs remain vulnerable to upsets; Kansas's win over #1 Arizona without star player Darren Patterson shows depth and coaching matter more than rankings

This is an I heart podcast guaranteed human. You are listening to the Dan Patrick show on Fox Sports Radio. And it's our one on this Tuesday, Dan and the Danettes Dan Patrick show. My starting lineup, a guy who failed his driving test twice. The minister of humor. Wow. That's where we go. I was starting the show. I did not know that about you. 75 seconds in. I know, but I did not know that. And you dropped that on me this morning and you were kind of recounting what happened and you blamed the driving instructor. Yeah. There was something about a catered and then there was something about not stopping completely for the stop sign. Next thing I know all my friends are celebrating passing it on their first time, but on that third one, I got my certificate. I was ready to roll. Seton, Zier, Marvin, Zier, Paulie yours truly in the backroom guys as well. We'll talk to Reggie Miller a little bit later on. The NBA talking about expansion and it's no surprise. This summer, they'll talk about Seattle and Las Vegas. Mike, Goliath, Senior will join us. I'm going to ask him 15 years from now. What is the one thing we talk about Super Bowl 60? And I don't think it'll be about the football itself. I think it'll be about the halftime show. 8773DP show email address, D.P. at Dan Patrick dot com Twitter handle it. D.P. show. Those of you who thought that the Patriots were imposters because they had a really easy schedule to make it to the Super Bowl. Well, you'll be happy to know New England schedule is out and it's not pretty. It'll be tough if they get back to the Super Bowl. Nobody's going to complain about this schedule. But keep in mind, they had a last place schedule. They didn't choose their schedule. They had four wins. The NFL wants parity and they give you they, I would say reward. If you want to use that word is a schedule that's a little more user friendly. But that's how the league works. Style points, the relevant results are everything. And the beauty of the NFL is there's always a reckoning. There's going to be a new one next year or a couple. But New England has a first place schedule and there's no favors here. No shortcuts. They got the bills, lions, sea hawks, packers and chargers. If they're for real, then they're going to prove it next year. But you start to look at the games that are on the road for the Patriots next year. They're at Buffalo at Chicago at Detroit at Kansas City at the chargers at the dolphins at the jets at the jags at the sea hawks. This will not be easy. And this is a situation where you might even see New England not even make the playoffs next year. Sometimes that rise that fall is just as dramatic. All right, see, pull question. I also have Seattle's schedule here. Now it doesn't tell you which which weeks, but it does say that they will be at Arizona at Denver, at the Raiders, at the Rams, at the Eagles, at the Niners, at the commanders, at the Panthers. So it doesn't stand out is wow. That's going to be some tough sledding for the Patriots. Yes, especially the road games. All righty. Pull question for our one is going to be what's eaten. Plus you do have that sort of Super Bowl hangover effect. Yeah, that is a is a real thing. You lose the Super Bowl. You usually don't do as well the next year. Yeah, and you wonder what the hangover is going to be. Sometimes we'll look at a team that wins the Super Bowl and talk about the hangover. I really think the hangover is for the Patriots because you got Drake, bang. I don't know if he's going to have surgery on his shoulder. You got an offensive line that needs short up and you've got to get some skill position players and you have a tougher schedule now. But you got a great head coach. And you know the fluctuation. If I look at the quarterbacks who were taken when Drake May was taken and we talked about Jaden Daniels and Caleb Williams and Bonyx and Michael Penix and J.J. McArthie. They're like stocks because we're going that guy is way up here. He's new video and then all of a sudden Jaden Daniels comes back to Earth. And then there's a little bit of Caleb Williams going up there. Hey, Bonyx is doing something. Oh, J.J. McArthie got to play in a game. And then you had what was going on in New England with Drake May. And if I said let's redraft right now that class. If you were going to redraft that class, Caleb Williams going one, Jaden Daniels, I don't know how healthy he's going to be. I don't know how healthy he's going to be throughout his career because of his size and the way he plays. Drake may almost win the MVP. Bonyx stays healthy. I think he's playing in the Super Bowl. J.J. McArthie juries out. Michael Penix. It's going to be his team. Jerry's still out. But if you said let's draft, redraft, I'm probably taking Caleb Williams. But I'm taking Caleb Williams because I think that he has the right person Ben Johnson in his ear. Now, if you say I'm going to end up with Drake May or Jaden Daniels or Bonyx, okay, those are nice consolation prizes. But you start to look at this and we want to go, that guy's going to be great. So Jaden Daniels, maybe the greatest rookie season we've had for a quarterback. Caleb Williams up and down. Drake May, I don't know where. Bonyx, maybe the most experienced him and Jaden Daniels. J.J. McArthie, not a big fan. Michael Penix, I like the story, but I wouldn't have gone up in the draft to go get him. So you come down to probably four quarterbacks. And I don't know if it seems like a four-gun conclusion. Drake May would be the guy because he came a couple votes away from winning the MVP. But after the Super Bowl and after the playoffs, I would say that stock is cooled down considerably. I would say it probably be Caleb Williams, definitely. Then Drake May, Jaden Daniels, Bonyx, and J.J. McArthie and Michael Penix. Good luck with that. Yeah, I see. It's weird. I feel exactly the same way. I don't really have a huge problem with that draft order still today, even if it played out exactly the same. And Drake May goes third instead of second or third. I totally get it. It's, it all still seems right to me. Yeah, Paulie. Yeah, it is weird though because if this were doing the show in August, it'd be Jaden Daniels and then there'd be a big drop to those other guys. Yeah, big drop. Yeah. But it's weird to be the runner up for the MVP and having people question you going into next season. Usually it's man, that guy's building on something. And I would say there's probably a lot more doubters than when the postseason started or even the Super Bowl. But that can fade away depending on what kind of season you have next year. But now you have a schedule that's far more demanding. And now we're going to find out maybe who Drake May is and who the Patriots are, at least in the short term. But they do have money. They have, you know, draft picks here. And once again, you got a great coach. The question is you got to start to fill in some blanks here that were very, very wide open in the Super Bowl. But I do think we'll look back on this Super Bowl 15 years from now. And it won't be about one particular play, not about one particular person unless it's about Drake May. Because I think this will be about the uproar of the halftime show. Bad bunny. I do. I think that's what it's going to be because the game was not transfixing. The game didn't give you something where like even today, normally the Tuesday after the Super Bowl, we talk about things that we didn't get to on Monday. But there isn't anything on Tuesday that we didn't get to on Monday. Yes, he's saying that in 10 years from now, the question will be who won the bad bunny Super Bowl. Maybe it might be. It might be. But, you know, just so much attention to the halftime show. And it almost took away from the Super Bowl. Because we kept waiting for storylines. When we were in San Francisco, it's like, what is the storyline here? You know, the big storyline became Tom Brady. He didn't have a dog in the fight. And all of a sudden, it's like, we spent two days on Tom Brady. You know, Drake May and the shoulder, I am feeling great. See, that's one of those where it's tricky. It, this is something the NFL does not want to talk about. And I talked to somebody yesterday at the NFL home office. And I said, you know, Drake May told everybody that his shoulder was fine. And he goes, I know where you're going with this. I said, Hey, there's billions of dollars, billions of dollars gambled on the Super Bowl legally and illegally. You got to make sure that we know exactly what's going on. You have to be transparent. Now you don't want to tell Seattle, Hey, this shoulder is really bad. But you're in business and you've got to be transparent with those. Look, how many people were betting on the Patriots, not knowing if, I mean, what if it comes out, Drake May has torn out a torn laborer or something, or, you know, something maybe not as serious, but you get shot up before the Super Bowl. And, you know, the person I spoke to at the home office said, it's not going to be a topic of conversation. I said, OK, I'm just, I'm just bringing it up because it's billions of dollars that were bet. And I don't know if that hampered Drake May at all, but, you know, if you're saying your shoulders fine, and you're on the entry list, but then you keep telling everybody, you feel great. I know you want to do that. But as a gambler, shouldn't we know as much as maybe the sea hawks know, maybe they're not going to be that transparent. But I do think this is where we blur the lines with the amount of money that's gambled. And it goes down a really, really dark rabbit hole here. Yeah, Paulie. One more thing I just found for you. You mentioned how do Super Bowl teams that lost do the following season in the past 10 years, four of the 10 Super Bowl losers did not make the playoffs. Historically, 68% Super Bowl losers do make the playoffs the following season. So it's right on par there, about 60% in the past 10. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't make the playoffs. The past two years, the chiefs did not make the playoffs and the Niners the year before they didn't make the playoffs after they lost. Yeah. And there'll be three or four teams that come out of nowhere. And there'll be three or four teams that disappear. It happens every single year. Alrighty. Come up with a poll question and we will get phone calls as well. 8773DP show. There was a brawl that broke out with the Pistons Hornets game last night. And this is how it sounded. JD on the dribble. All right, back down on Diabate and a whistle. They're going over. Diabate is swinging. Boy, Diabate is a he's facing suspension here. There is no question about it. And now Britain's throws a punch. Now Stu just came out. Oh, man, it's a bounty group. There they go. After review, fighting fouls have been assessed at a following players. Diabate and bridges from Charlotte and Durin and Stewart from Detroit. Those four players have been ejected from the game. It's courtesy of the Pistons radio network. According to the NBA rulebook, during fights or altercations, players who aren't subbed in must stay on the sidelines in the immediate vicinity of their bench. The league also stipulates that violators will be subject to an automatic one game suspension without paying and an additional fine of $50,000. Because punches were made, contact was made. Suspensions will be happening for a couple of the eighties players. I would do the following if I was the NBA. And maybe they do this. I don't know. I would show the Rudy Tom Johnovich punch that Kermit Washington nearly killed Rudy Tom Johnovich. And I would show that to every team at the start of the season. Just to remind them, you never worry about the person in front of you. It's the person to the side or behind you. And that's when you get some real damage done. You know, most basketball fights are kind of skirmishes pushing shoving. But when punches are thrown, man, I'd have no tolerance whatsoever. I'd sit you down for a week and I'd let you think about it. And I'd make you watch that Rudy Tom Johnovich documentary every day. Just so you don't do something stupid and throw away your career. It's going to cost you a couple hundred thousand dollars. And I know you want to protect your teammates. Now, I don't know if I would have taken the Duncan Robinson route where he was kind of on the outside and he just kind of turned around and he just said, what have we done here? You know, you can act like you're helping. You're in the mix there a little bit. Yes, Marvin. You have to. Even art. So I've been in a friend group that's got into a fight before you can't come on guys. No, you have you. I know you're in it. I know you are in it. You don't want to be in it, but you are in it. Or at least you have to pretend you have to try to break it up. But come on guys, let's not let's not do this. Well, I don't know if that's how your voice is going to sound. Come on, fellas. Hey, guys, come on. Stop it. Now that old school basketball that happened a lot. I don't want to go back to old school basketball to see that. I have no problem with an enforcer. You know, it's weird hockey. You fight and you go to the bench for five minutes and you're good. All right, you're going to fight. You go over there. All right. Now come on back out. NBA. I think the case. And I go back to that San Antonio Spurs, Phoenix Suns. What was that conference final? And that's when I went toe to toe with Commissioner Stern because you had some guys from the Phoenix Suns trying to protect Steve Nash. When he got, you know, banged into the scorers table. And you had a Mari Stautomire and some players go off the bench and that cost the Phoenix Suns chance to go to the NBA finals. You got to do it. You got to protect the integrity of the game, the players. But when you start throwing haymakers here, and I never would ever worry about the guy in front of me. It's the guy that I don't see. And that's that's when things happen. That's when things go south. All right. My goal like senior in an hour, Reggie Miller, a little bit later on as well. Kansas drops number one Arizona. And that was without Kansas best player. Darren Patterson, who wasn't playing by all accounts. Feels like NBA scouts still think he is the number one player in America. But he's been in and out of the lineup. He had flu-like symptoms, but at Fall Gallen. And if you ever get a chance to have that atmosphere as I went there and saw Jason Kidd and Cowl play. I flew out on my own dime because I wanted to see a game at Fall Gallen. And it did not disappoint. That was a great, great atmosphere. We're going to take a break here. We'll come back with your phone calls, settle on our poll question. Back after this, Dan Patrick's show. Be sure to catch the live edition of the Dan Patrick's show. What's on your mind today? I just had a quick comment on your breaking news this morning. So you mean to tell me that the past fall Todd Britt had two failed attempts to pass a driver's test? Yes. Go figure. Todd, would you like to explain that you failed two driving tests? The first one I believe I didn't do well with the K-turn. The tire may have hit the curb at some point. And the second one I didn't come to a complete stop. I didn't stop long enough at a stop sign and that's what pretty much did me in there. How jittery were you when you got in the car? Very. Adjusting mirrors. I was like over doing my seat belt and mirrors and stuff to try to over compensate for my lack of driving ability to show how careful and safe I was. But then you once you have to actually start driving that doesn't matter what you did before the car starts moving. You know, full disclosure, I failed the written test. Fail the written test. I would say that the written test probably is a little more embarrassing. Feels like you know you should be able to pass that. Driving you kind of know what's expected. I didn't know what the questions were going to be. In fact, one of my friends went like the week before so then he downloaded me on all the questions and the answers. And it was a completely different test. So that's where you come outside. Your mom's picking you up and she goes, do you want to drive? I go, I can't. I said, I failed the drive the written test. She goes, oh, Danny, you did not. I go, oh, I did, mom. So I had to wait a little while. Yeah, Paul. Dan is the first time pastor. This is all new to me. But how long do you guys have to wait before you take your next one? Do you remember? I don't like an eternity because everybody's waiting to congratulate you that you have your license. And then I didn't have my license. I had to go back humbly. Take it again. In fact, the woman who was there said, back again, huh? Oh, no. I said, yes, yes, I am. Back again. Lucas in Texas. Hi, Luke. What's on your mind today? Hey, Dan. Good morning, good morning. Apologies for hitting the hard and heavy tree yesterday morning. I'll wear my lesson for next year for gold. But I wanted your opinion on the Olympics, so the Olympics coverage, because very quickly, our family has turned into a curling household. We've loved watching the matches. It's been a lot of fun. And it just kind of makes me more select. And this is where I want your inside baseball on the process that NBC, I think they're just the best at covering sports overall, that they do to put together a play by play and a color analyst team to where people can watch a sport that they rarely, if ever watch. And within a match or two, feel like they know all enough to be vested and want to watch more. How does that process work? Why does it seem like, especially our Olympics coverage, it's so good that people get hooked so quickly. This started with Dick Abberson, former president of NBC Sports. And I got the good fortune of working Olympics and Super Bowl under his guidance. He wanted the Olympics to be for your mother, your daughters, your grandmother, your girlfriend. And he thought if I can get the Olympics geared towards them that they understand it, that's where you get the big audience. You know, that men are going to watch sports. You want to get women to feel like, hey, I can understand what this is or you're going to teach me what this is. And if you watch curling and I did a Wisconsin Stevens point, I went there when the US team was qualifying. And this is many, many years ago. And I went up there and I was fascinated by it just because, I mean, it's their life, it's professional. This is what they want to do. They grow up wanting to do this. And it's extremely difficult. It looks like it's fun and you just have a broom and you're just going, hey, and where's this rock going? But to see people who have dedicated their lives to do, it's no different than any other sport. It's just we look at it as, hey, have a couple of beers and you're having fun. I still, I haven't been at many Olympic qualifiers where there was a keg that was outside. So that would give you an idea like, man, I could get used to this sport. But I think that's the beauty of what NBC does. It could be cycling. It could be snowboarding. It could be any of those sports because for the most part, we only care about the winter Olympic sports at the winter Olympics. Now you do have skiing. You have snowboarding. I mean, you have hockey. You have other things involved in this. But there are a lot of sports skeleton. Like who thought up skeleton? Hey, you're going to go down in a sled, but you can't see where you're going and you're going to go, I don't know, 80 miles an hour on a track. You like got to wear this suit. Yeah, I'll sign up for it. Like there's certain sports where you go, how do they come up with this? But they do an NBC presented in such a, it's like a tutorial. It's never to talk above you. It's to talk to you to have you understand. And it's not dumbing it down as much as it is just reminding people that you work with. You'll have to explain it sometimes. And there's nothing wrong with that because then you bring in the audience. Then they understand the scoring. They understand, oh, look out for this person or that history with this person. But that goes back to Dick Ebersaw. He was a genius at understanding that that's why women's gymnastics or figure skating front and center prime time every night. Why? He programmed for your mother, your daughters, your wife, your girlfriend, your grandmother. And that's where you get a huge audience as opposed to guys are going to watch. Mike Tureko went from the Super Bowl, took a private plane to Italy, got off the plane, and then he started hosting the Olympics last night. So pretty, pretty good 24 hours there for Mike Tureko going from calling the Super Bowl to then doing the Olympics. Yeah, Paul. I was watching a lot yesterday and one thing NBC does before each sports starts. They give a quick, it's got to be less than a 45 second tutorial. The rules, the very basics that you have to know. So when you enter watching it, you're like, oh, I get it really quickly. I love, I'm looking up, Luzh was first. Luzh is when you're laying on your back. I was watching a lot of that. And some crazy Luzh are said, I'm going to go ahead first. And that's basically where skeleton came from. Yeah, but skeleton's not head first. Skeleton isn't that, which is the one? Luzh is where you... Luzh is a feet first laying down. And then skeleton is reversed. Well, you're not laying down and Luzh, you're tucked down, you're seated. That's Bob's, that's Bob's lead. Luzh is your laying on your back and you control it with your... Luzh, you're on your back feet first. But then skeleton is on your back. Or on your stomach. Skeleton's on your stomach face first. Those guys are crazy. Yeah. And I actually covered a couple of Winter Olympics. So skeleton, you're on your chest? Yeah, face first. Luzh is on your back. Bob's lead could be either two men or four men. Two men, women as well. And I think Herschel Walker did Bob's lead. Yes, he did. Yes, he did. I don't know if he meddled, but I'm never Herschel said, I'm going to do Bob's lead. Yes, Todd. I want to get into curling. But as soon as they whip out that broom sweeping thing, I'm like, I'm done. Move it onto another sport. Yeah. And the rock, I mean, just like sliding is really difficult. And being able to release it and then aim and then you get the brooms involved in it. And it is... It's something to see in person and I love that they get, you know, dressed up. They embrace it. But still, you're in the Olympics. I mean, you're their opening ceremony. I mean, you're an Olympian. And I know that we tend to look at that as somebody got drunk and created this. You know, out on the lake and they go, you know what? How about we get a rock here and then we get brooms. Oh, come on, Tommy. No, no, let's try it. Next thing you know, it's an Olympic sport. Yeah, Paulie. The curling's on right now. And the guys and the girls who are doing it, the person who throws the rock, I hope that's correct. Don't want that fan base mad at me. They're wearing like joggers and like zip-ups. And they just smoothly go across the ice with their flat shoes. And I love that they yell. They're yelling, you know, whatever their code words are. But it's interesting to see. And it feels like curling is always on with the Olympics. Can't go wrong. People watch curling because it takes a little while for, you know, each match to play out. Yes, Todd? Is any minimal trash talking allowed in the Olympics? Or is it that one of those things that's a complete no-no? They'll kick out of the Olympics if you look or say something derogatory towards your opponent. In curling? In any sport. There's just something that Olympics is held to a certain regard where, you know, you can't do anything that would be considered, you know, derogatory or trash talking to an opponent from another country. Well, if it's a team event, yes, individually, probably difficult to talk trash unless that person's right there with you competing with you. But for the most part, when you head down the mountain, you're the only person in the gate. But if it's like USA hockey, I'm sure there's quite a bit of trash talking. Ericon, that's our Olympic update here. I left the Super Bowl was in New York, and we did the Beach Bowl. and that was a saturday for direct t.v. and i remember i had to get on a plane in uh... newwork airport and uh... we were going to russia for the olympics and i i just remember i had all my bags packed and paulie was like hey got your phone yet got your wallet yet got your passport yet where is it okay it's over there grabbing my bags getting in a car going to the airport getting on a plane and then you wake up and you're in sochi uh... never get all never get back to sochi again no and i'll be happy that i don't get back to sochi there had to be some no no no i came up with some mysterious illness they didn't know they joked about his best and i went i i'm at your mercy i had some doctor from uh... russia they're helping me i don't know what was going on bob add pink eye i mean it was all you have a mess they should have given the they probably gave him the army right there with the pink i tried to get pink on so i can win it the whole desperate thank you time but i just remember i would be in my hotel we get picked up we go to the uh... olympic broadcasting headquarters i'd spent nine hours there get in a van come back to the hotel go to the hotel bar uh... and then repeat next day same thing sochi was they propped up a fake city so they like you know in hollywood they would have buildings and there's nothing behind the buildings it's just a facade that they painted to make it look like they did that in this area to make it seem like all this is really quaint and what it was is just these structures that were built with nothing behind there was no building it was just big wooden things that they paint i mean they look beautiful and i thought wow they created this little city and that all of a sudden my friend goes uh... look behind and i go oh my god there's nothing here it was a like a fake western town yes i'd say it was fochi i've got i really thought you'd like that a fake sochi would be a fochi uh... arrogant pencil higher i just want to give you a driver's license fail from my years and early seventy's i passed the test past all the written stuff sitting in the car with the cop he says uh... one final thing which handy hold your ice cream cone in and i thought about it for a second gave him an answer and failed on the spot i think of time when i think about stuff like that thanks guys way man air they gave you a trick question yeah i was a trick question he says i i mean i don't know why i'd have brought on me but he said i thought about for a second well i had a four speed so i thought left left is the way to go so left and so i can shift and that was it all right thank you or cast out i would have said i i'm lactose intolerant i might get the turkey's average in my right hand one driver uh... mike and origen high michael son you might today oh he had uh... first time long time six to two hundred hey um... you know speaking about curling i think uh... you ought to use that when you when you get uh... questions about parenting because um... curling is the perfect analogy you know you go through all the generations to let that thing go but then after that you can clear the path and sweet but sweet but you can't touch the damn thing thank you my got a little deep there with parenting and curling i didn't think that that was going to happen today a john in illinois had john and six three two sixty five just so you know curling is one of the sport in winter Olympics you're great in everything else you do but you need to stay in your lane but when it comes to curling and you don't need to run run your mouth about curling when the greatest sports and when you wait wait john i'm not trashing curling just so you know i'll just let you know well i'm letting you know john i'm not trashing curling there's no show honestly that's more pro curling than us we had john shooster on the legend back in the last Olympics yes he can get keeping curling right now i don't know feels like i don't know feels like coming after me a little bit there i covered curling yes i was a little much run your mouth that's a kind of a strong right i don't think anybody said anything that was ripping curling to get such a reaction like i don't want to mess with the curling community okay i'm being very respectful i i was entertained by i enjoyed it i encourage people to watch it what's your sit in your car and cry about it john yeah what you listen to green day in your car john i want you cry about it yeah yes marvin i think that's the same john it told you to stay in your lane about green day really i believe so call back okay stay in your lane john he'll be known as yes i just got deeper anger issues it's not even about what even we're talking about i think i'm coming after you i think he's just he's got a problem with me that must be what it is uh... alright can you take a break i think it's silly that way anyway stand my i'm just saying yeah i did call back now it's curling call back guys running your mouth about currently i'm not gonna sit here and listen to that one of the great american sports uh-huh uh... uh... you know damn this super bowl if we had some things to talk about we'd be talking about that instead of curling take a break our play the day is up next just saying fox sports radio has the best sports talk line up in the nation catch all of our shows at fox sports radio dot com and within the i-hards radio at search fs r to listen live all my of the day this is the play of the day jtg melvin in trouble with a double-team trap steps through puts up a floater in rattle no one can't what could be a dagger fifty two seconds to play j-hawks lead by six time out a razonah in the field house back to the gills roaring to the rooftops ten out of ten here tonight at skirtcy of the j-hawks radio network cancels has won eight in a row for them against ranked teams including number one a razonah and then number two i was state play of the day brought to you by rk zero proof the world's first zero proof spirits patented warm molecules same-field zero alcohol all the cheers none of the regrets you can try it at rk zero proof dot com just had a caller john and illinois basically telling me to stay in my lane when it comes to curling and then marvin goes i think that's the same john and illinois who told you to stay in your lane when it came to green day john and illinois jones is hi john when you have for me today six three two sixty five just so you know green day is a first ballot hall of favor stay in your lane in sports your green in sports but stay in your lane you don't you don't need to run your mouth about green day long as torn clunk rock band in american history that alone sets them up and if you listen to their music from the beginning to now it's evolved into something great thanks john and illinois that was a november of twenty nineteen and i've course quickly made my way to the rock and roll hall of fame so i could see the green day exhibit to absorb the magic the magnificence of green day and it they of course performed at the super bowl and uh... billy johen company they sounded great in his hair look great as well yes he has to bet too because you used to be great at sports apparently though now quite as much as you used to be because i use after you look your great in sports stay in your lane about music though but now it curling slowly chipping away not great at sports anymore that's why i'm retiring that is john and illinois that's why i'm going to retire not good in music not good in sports that's better yes Paul serious question then which fan base are you more concerned about the green day or the curling fan base yeah because i'm in sports i'm in higher security no i think we're good john did say love the show i think at the very end yes to it but you can also say disagree with you i don't appreciate your point on that run your mouth for some reason that this sounds like another level of unnecessary harshness feels like there might have been more trash talking there than in that basketball fight last night it feels like you're getting the shrapnel of it sounds like john and illinois it's been made fun of a lot for curling and he heard you say like hey a lot of curling on that's john don't even start you too you're like dude i just said like there's a lot of curling on did did he hear anything after that when i brought up curling and how did somebody come up with curling don't you say it running i was running my mouth yes john i get paid to do that every single day for three hours just so you know you like that i don't just start with just so you know it's such a mouth you know it's good for you john and illinois i learned my lesson with green day i did you know all of a sudden i'm well versed in green you're good at the other stuff okay but you just uh i didn't think i didn't think the show was going to start out this way today really didn't Tony in California hi Tony what's on your mind today hey guys good morning so it's a miracle man all my teams are on a heater the clippers of hottest team ls u is definitely going to win a championship but more importantly my wife's from Haiti and Haiti got two representatives in the winter Olympics which is cool but they won the award for best uniforms and these are the most beautiful uniforms i've ever seen ever and we qualified for the world cup for the first time since the 70s i'll be there in Boston i'll be up in your neck in the woods all right well thank you Tony paulio pull up the Haiti uniforms there scottian florida hi scottie what's on your mind hey dan second time five six and again a scout one sixty playing bar room shuffle board oh we're losing you scottie brad and north carolina hi brad hi dan you know one of the reasons why this super bowl is going to be so hard to remember is because it really came down to the line and i actually was amazed i saw two sacks on drake main where not only was drake main sacks but the offensive lineman was sacked at the same time and it reminded me of when mark santa is who he's the one that we all joke about but with the butt fumble but this wolf fort literally lifted up that lineman and put him in santa's path and that's like a perpritzi say he fits will fort lifted nice thank you brad andro and washington's back i andro good morning dan dan it's uh... yeah then i i tune in to hear you run your mouth for three hours i'll tune in for john and it'll know i'd come on once in a while to tell you not to run your mouth you can say whatever you'd like you get paid to do it you're correct hey i was just talking about nc double a basketball i think they had good bookend to the um... to the super bowl where you had duke north carolina coming down to the last shot on saturday you have kansas and arizona last night that was an excellent game arizona arizona they're up by eleven they lost it was on the road but there's a number one ranked team kansas was only ranked night um... it's the first win against a number one team in allen field house for the kansas jahawk house surprise at that but also it was a coming out party for flori bidinga without kansas having one of the best players in the country darren peterson flori bidinga had twenty three and ten but really he was the energy changer late net second half so um... i just wanted to see how do you think that the nc double a as far as the the college basketball is going to be this year we're going to see more games like this or is it going to just be the blue blood rising to the top again i have no idea i don't i mean super bowl just ended and uh... plenty of time to download on this all poly just
