Nashville's Morning News analyzed President Trump's State of the Union address, highlighting his strategic use of wedge issues like immigration, voter ID, and transgender procedures to contrast Democratic positions with majority American opinion. Guests Brian Wilson and Matthew Hurt discussed how Trump's theatrical approach and Democratic non-responses created powerful visual contrasts, while Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger faced criticism for proposing 51 tax increases while claiming to lower costs.
Insights
- Trump's State of the Union strategy relied on forcing Democrats into visual contrasts by proposing universally popular policies, knowing their non-response would appear damaging on social media and cable news
- Post-speech polling showed a 10-point jump in approval (54% to 64%) for Trump's policies, suggesting the speech effectively reminded independents why they voted for him
- Democratic responses to the speech (heckling, silence on popular measures) reinforced negative perceptions among swing voters more effectively than any Republican messaging could
- State-level Democratic policies like Virginia's proposed tax increases directly contradict national messaging on affordability, creating vulnerability in midterm elections
- The speech's impact will be amplified through social media clips and cable news coverage rather than live viewership, making theatrical moments more valuable than policy depth

Brian Wilson, of course, Wednesdays with Wilson. Brian joins us. And Brian, I got a number of things that I want to talk about with you, of course. You've watched and covered a lot of State of the Union addresses in your time. Obviously, everybody knows your journalistic chops. I was trying to figure that out last night. I know that I did in 31 years. I probably was in the chamber, maybe 25 of those are there covering it on the Hill for about 25 of them. So I've got quite a few under my belt. And where would you, and what I said to Congressman Tim Burchett was, and I didn't watch the whole thing. I was way tired and I fell asleep. But it didn't feel like the speech lost a lot of steam the further that it went. There wasn't a moment where you're like, okay, you know, we're done. I thought it was a pretty good speech. It was patriotic. It had moments of inspiration. But but Donald Trump is is brilliant at one thing, and that is pointing out those issues where the Democrats take a position that is is contrary to the position held by most Americans. And, you know, I'm going to give you right off the bat here what I thought was the highlight of the speech where he's talking about about how you need to make a decision, Democrats. Do you support Americans or do you support illegal aliens? Listen to this clip. One of the great things about the State of the Union is how it gives Americans the chance to see clearly what their representatives really believe. So tonight I'm inviting every legislature to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle. If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support. The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens. And that standing ovation went for well over two minutes. Yes, it did. I've edited it for time because I wanted to get some more in here. But but he he then turned it right on the Democrats in a big way. Here we go. Isn't that a shame? You should be ashamed of yourself not standing up. You should be ashamed of yourself. That is why I'm also asking you to end deadly sanctuary cities that protect the criminals and enact serious penalties for public officials who block the removal of criminal aliens. In many cases, drug lords, murderers all over our country. They're blocking the removal of these people out of our country. And you should be ashamed of yourself. Love it. It was good. And, you know, you hear Ilhan Omar and Jayapal there, you know, back there as well. Yeah. And all of that works to Trump's benefit, I believe. I mean, it was so effective because that's that's I mean, it's got to be frustrating to Trump that he runs on. I'm going to do something about illegal immigration and he wins by a landslide. And then after he does what he said he was going to do, he starts to get, you know, a lot of back crap about it, you know, and people give him a hard time about it. The bottom line is he was able to, again, remind the American people in that moment why you elected me. And by the way, I've done what I said I was going to do. I thought that was incredibly effective. And it made the Democrats look real small. Can I say one thing, too? There's something just, Brian, unseemly about Donald Trump talking about protecting the American people, getting rid of the murderers and the gang members and the drug dealers and all that. There's something unseemly about Ilhan Omar, you know, dressed up in her Somalian garb, knowing that the Somali community has ripped off the American people in Minnesota. And she has the gall to start screaming back at an American president. That really angered me. That really ticked me off. And the other thing that I thought, Brian, then we'll we'll get back to your second audio bite. The other thing that I like that Donald Trump did was he set up tonight's State of the Union talking about, you know, illegal aliens and all that kind of stuff. He set it up yesterday with the press conference and the event featuring angel families. Right. I thought I thought that was incredibly well done. Donald Trump brings a sense of showmanship to everything that he does. And that was evident yesterday and last night. I couldn't agree with you more. And, you know, look, this is all a bunch of political theater anyway. And the Democrats have been very effective at using this political theater to their advantage in the past. And he boxed them in. He said, OK, look, here are some things. For example, I'll give you another example. Here's another perfect example. The Save Act. He's very much in favor of the Save Act and Democrats are not. And by the way, Americans, by and large, support the president on this. I'm asking you to approve the Save America Act. Again, these are edited through time because the applause was so long. From voting in our sacred American elections, that cheating is rampant in our elections. It's rampant. It's very simple. All voters must show voter ID. All voters must show proof of citizenship in order to vote. Mail-in ballots except for illness, disability, military, or travel. Both Republicans and Democrats overwhelmingly agree on the policy that we just enunciated. and Congress should unite and enact this common sense, country-saving legend. This isn't your average podcast. This is one of the most, if not the most controversial podcast. This is Full Send. Do you like party ever? I think Post Malone told me once he went to like one of your parties. What was the biggest after party you guys ever did? We had one with you guys. Unfiltered conversations. I'm not going to say any names, but. We got Dr. Phil pulling up. Jake Paul's coming in today. Benjamin Netanyahu. He's about to walk into the podcast right now. I feel like he leaves. Yeah, maybe. The Full Send Podcast. This is so crazy. Follow and listen on your favorite platform. ...right now, and it should be before anything else happens. I mean, that's pretty effective stuff. And then he just gets after them. And the reason they don't want to do it, why would anybody not want voter ID? One reason, because they want to cheat. There's only one reason. They make up all excuses. They say it's racist. They come up with things. You almost say, what imagination they have. They want to cheat. They have cheated. And their policy is so bad that the only way they can get elected is to cheat. And we're going to stop it. We have to stop it, Josh. I mean, when 89% of Americans are on board with something and you sit in your chair and don't move when it's mentioned, that reminds people of why you elected Donald Trump. Right. Brian, you're absolutely right. And I don't know if you saw what happened just repulsive in the beginning of when President Trump was coming in. Al Green has that sign that we're going to talk about coming up next. Brian, the the sign that Al Green had, it said black people aren't apes, is what he said. repulsive obviously and he's responding of course to donald trump or somebody in his administration posting accidentally that video that a lot of people we mentioned it here as well on nashville's morning news but i i would think that at some point hakeem jeffries would be able to get his his side of the aisle under control he's got he's got al green doing that crap escorted from the chambers. You've got Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib yelling at the president. According to the Hill, Brian, I did an interview on this yesterday. This is exactly the type of thing that Hakeem Jeffries was working feverishly behind the scenes to prevent. Well, I would say that they were better behaved than I expected them to be with a few notable exemptions. I do think that Al Green, Well, first of all, that was not a great moment for the Trump administration. We can all agree that probably should never have been posted. But now that, you know, but people don't like inherent rudeness. And that's the thing that I think works against the Democrats is they will be perceived in all of these instances of being rude to the president of the United States. I mean, he reels them in. It's really amazing. I got one more clip. Can I get this one more? Absolutely. Go. This was my personal favorite of the night, where Trump went after the Democrats on insider trading. I'm announcing that next year my administration will give these often forgotten American workers, great people, the people that built our country, access to the same type of retirement plan offered to every federal worker We will match your contribution with up to each year As we ensure that all Americans can profit from a rising stock market let's also ensure that members of Congress cannot corruptly profit from using insider information. Again, I've edited these applauses down because they went on for so long. but you get the sense of it. This went over well with Republicans. They stood up for that. I can't believe it. Talking about the Democrats. I can't believe it. Did Nancy Pelosi stand up for change? Ah, yeah. Yes, yes. Pass the Stop Insider Trading Act without delay. I love it. So there you have my favorite moments, from the speech. I mean, you know, this is all his biggest problem right now, Dan, is is a matter of perception. I mean, I think you can look at the statistics and the raw statistics and say, look, there the economy is getting better. There's little doubt of that. But but people aren't yet perceiving that to be the case. And many people aren't perceiving that to be the case as yet. we're in that sort of weird no-man's land where things are getting better, but it hasn't reached the perception of a great number of Americans right now. And that's why the Democrats have found a wedge on this issue of affordability. I think that's going to resolve itself as these income tax returns start to drop into people's bank accounts and they adjust their deductions to have more money coming in every month. I think that's going to that's going to really have an impact, but it probably won't hit until April or May. But but clearly, by the middle of the year, we should see everything else sort of fall into line with this economy, where the perception catches up with the reality of the fact that the economy is getting stronger. Can I can I play, Brian? You're absolutely right. I'm going to play one of my favorite moments. This was President Trump when he was talking about transgender procedures and surgeries for minors. Surely we can all agree no state can be allowed to rip children from their parents' arms and transition them to a new gender against the parents' will. Who would believe that we're even talking about this? We must ban it, and we must ban it immediately. I mean, obviously, and I like how the president is sort of like, you know, who who cannot agree that, you know, gender mutilation is a bad thing when when you're talking about children? Well, of course, it was the Democrats who continued to sit silently. These people are crazy. I'm telling you, they're crazy. Yep. See, that's his brilliance, finding those wedge issues and just ramming them right up, you know, the part of the body that Congressman Burchett mentioned a while ago. That's exactly right. By the way, Brian, just so you know, we're in here trying to figure out, for people that are just joining us, Congressman Burchett actually dropped the A-hole bomb on the air. And, well, apparently, Brian, we thought that it was dumped, but apparently it wasn't. So, well, you know, those things slip through. I mean, I hear the unredacted version of this program coming down my line. As many people who listen on the stream also hear the unredacted version of the show. So, you know, I can't tell if you got it or not. But the bottom line is I don't think anybody disagrees with that assessment. No, not at all. listen to this program at all. And I think, you know, sometimes you just got to say what needs to be said. I that's one of the things I love about Congressman Birchett. I truly do. Oh, he he is number one. And I said this to him, the fact that he only got a couple of hours sleep and then he's willing to get up at, you know, gosh, awful time after being up so late, not even having coffee yet. And he got up to, you know, speak to Nashville's morning news, I think says a lot about the the congressman and yeah he remains uh you know brian you and i have been interviewing politicians for a long time and you clearly far more than i have but he does remain i think he's probably with no disrespect to anyone else i think he's one of my all-time faves yeah he's he's uh he's a favorite of mine for sure because i like a guy who just tell it to you straight where the where the cow ate the cab what is that how the cow ate the cabbage okay that's that's exactly all right so So real quick, do you believe that Donald Trump's as we wrap this up, Donald Trump's speech? How do you think it it worked with independence? Well, I think it was a reminder to those. I mean, it was really aimed at the independence. It was a reminder to those independents of why they voted for Donald Trump in the first place. I mean, I think they have forgotten it. They see some ugly pictures out of Minnesota and they don't like it. I mean, people generally don't like that kind of conflict on the street of America. It makes it look chaotic. It makes it look like the nation is out of control. But but honestly, to be to be truthful with you, I think he needed to remind those those and people in the middle who decide elections. And we got a midterm election coming up exactly why you voted for me. And by the way, why are you mad at me if I've done the things that I said I was going to do? I think that reminder needed to be made. And I think the the president did did do that. And I think that the Democrats did a great job of reminding people why they're crazy. Exactly. As Donald Trump said. I mean, he played that bit of theater so perfectly well. It was. Well, you know what? There's a there's a bit of he kind of looks like with President Trump, I think that he feels like politics is sort of like wrestling. You know what I mean? Like there's just there's that theater. There's that strategy. There is, you know, calling them out. And he did all of that. And he did it so incredibly brilliantly. Anybody on the left who says that Donald Trump is not as cunning or not as, you know, sharp minded as he used to be. All you have to do is look at what happened last night from a strategic standpoint. It was a good speech for him. All told, I think it really works well for him. I don't know if you saw this, Brian. I'll play the audio bite again coming up when I have Matthew Hurt on. But CNN actually had a poll before the speech. Fifty four percent of the of the American people polled said that they felt that Trump's policies would lead America into a better direction. After this speech, that number skyrocketed to 64 percent. The other thing that I will say is the other thing that I'll say is once these clips continue to go viral, I think that number is going to go even higher. I think you're right, because people a lot of people won't pay attention to the actual speech. They went off and they got on Netflix and watched a movie or something. They don't care about that kind of stuff. But they will pick it up. You know, some of the highlights and for the Democrats, I would say the lowlights of this speech as they are replayed today on talk radio, on the news, cable news channels, etc. That's where they will form a larger opinion. And I think I think very this went very well for the president last night. I think it probably will see a bump coming his direction. And that's something that is desperately needed as we get ready to head into the midterm elections. Brian, always a terrific analysis. And we look forward to talking to you again, talking to you again soon. Always a pleasure, Dan. Thank you very much. All right. We'll see you. It is 725 on Supertalk 99.7 WTN. Joan, I think that my lack of sleep is also beginning to show. Do you think? Now, I'm not going to be dropping A-bombs on the radio because clearly, do you think, hey, Joan, just me and you talking? Yeah. Do you think Sam's going to have to go through some additional training on how to dump? Sam, do you want to be honest and tell the audience what you told me in my headphones? I was trying to see if there was something else I could have done because I'm a perfectionist. Really? Couldn't tell. there's a separate sorry, go ahead button that says dump on it, but it's on the other side of the console. It's not the one attached right to all of the audio interface right here. So, I asked Mason, who's been here longer, and Mason said, no, it should just be the one button. So this looks like a question for our favorite department. I love engineering. What'd you say, Joan? The department of no? No, no, no, no, no. No, the department of no, Joan, is who we're hoping doesn't hear about this unfortunate incident. I see. Out of all the days to choose to listen, please not be today. So, yeah, so for people that are just joining us, and you know, Joan, what I'm going to do, I've actually, we've pulled the audio of Congressman Tim Burchett calling Democrats a-holes. Yeah. And it's just, we're going to put it on a loop. A loop. That's what we're going to do. Now, I'm obviously going to bleep the A-double-S, but uh and sam i believe you know i can be a prognosticator sometimes joan my prognostication is sam is going to get some additional training on how to dump things what's weird though sam i don understand this is you have dumped things before yeah successfully i and i i held the button this time okay just to be double safe Sometimes though when you hold the button down it negates like it instead of the action being what you think it is it negates that action. I'm sorry could you say that word again? Negates? Negates. Dan Bongino returns. It's real. You better produce something fast. And he's not holding back. Dan, that's backwards. No, I'm telling you the truth. Hard truths and a bold perspective no one else can offer. You may not hear this anywhere else. I'm always under the assumption that you're being played, we're being played. Man, this show continues to expand its footprint. I love you guys for it. It's the comeback everyone's been waiting for. If there was ever a time, it is this one. The Dan Bongino Show. Follow and listen on your favorite platform. Negates. Negates. You know what negates means? Have you never heard the word negate? I've never heard that pronunciation of it. She's pronouncing it correctly. Negative. Negates. Whatever. 727. Joan. Just ignore him, Joan. You know what he's trying to do? He's trying to distract from the fact that he didn't dump the A-bomb by Tim Burchett. That's what he's trying. Let me obfuscate. Oh, he's heard of obfuscate, but not negate. Alright, very good. We are running so late and we've got Matthew Hurt coming up next. So, Joan, what's coming up in the news? A small plane crashes in a local neighborhood. We'll bring you the latest there coming up at 730 on Supertalk 99.7 WTN. All right, Joan, thank you. 727, the Wellness Institute of Nashville. Let me give you a website, pandasbad.com. Matthew, our grassroots political analyst, always great to have you on. And Matthew, I know that you, I think that we can all agree with Congressman Tim Burchett, audio, when we talk about the Democrats last night. Those a**holes. There you go. Well, Dan, what your listeners may not know, and this is what's great about radio, and this is why I like coming on and talking to you once or twice a week, is that you do your best in the morning to put together a great show. And this is now the second time Tim Burchett, Congressman Tim Burchett, has bumped me in the segment that we previously agreed upon the night before. and I would not have said the A-hole word on the radio in the last hour. But Congressman Birchett is – Well, you know, Matthew, if you dropped a few more A-bombs like Tim Birchett did, maybe I wouldn't bump you. Well, but Congressman Birchett is right. And I've known Tim since he was in the state senate in Nashville back when I was at Middle Tennessee State University. And he has always been the good old boy from West Knoxville, and he tells it like it is. And the guy is a public servant through and through, and to have the ear of the president and be able to talk to him about these important issues, that is something that goes beyond seniority in the House. And I know Tim made the joke that he was 435th most senior member of the House of Representatives. But but that is something that is very important when it comes to those the real world problems that people are facing. Well, and I think that is what President Trump spoke to at the State of the Union last night. So and I know that I'm being unfair to the people who literally are just tuning in. So earlier we had Congressman Tim Burchett on and he was talking about his frustration with the Democrats as as they were essentially heckling Donald Trump last night during the State of the Union. And he I mean, he called the Democrats. That's what he said. And and apparently I can't tell if we dropped it, we dumped it or we didn't because people are telling us different things. But from what I can tell, it did not get dumped. But my favorite, though, part of that whole thing, Matthew Hurt, was when he realized what he did and he said, excuse me. I think that was one of my all time favorite Tim Burchard appearances, not because of the the a-hole comment. I mean, these things happen, but because he did tell us what it's like to, you know, have the president of the United States speak to him for 14 minutes, pick up the phone and speak to him for 14 minutes on the day of the State of the Union. So if you after I get off the air and whenever you have time without not listening to WTN, but go back and listen to that interview with Tim Burchett, because it was, I think, probably one of my all time favorites for a number of different reasons. But let's focus on the speech last night. I do believe that Tim Burchett was actually right when he was describing the Democrats as a holes, because look what the Democrats, Matthew, would not stand for. They would not stand for the I mean, the least of which the men's Olympic hockey team men's and the gold medal. They wouldn't stand for the families of people who have been killed because of the soft on crime policies of the Democrats. They they wouldn't stand for, you know, the United States of America and the government protecting the American people. I mean, they wouldn't stand for anything that makes common sense. Well, Dan, this is this is actually a master class in theatrics and presentation by President Trump and his team. Anyone who has watched who watched this State of the Union has probably watched another. You know, for a fact that Republicans and Democrats alternate applauding, standing up. Oftentimes, you know, a decade ago and further back, Democrats and Republicans would stand up and applaud. And to have President Trump roll that into his speech, you know, stand up if you agree that the first responsibility of the federal government is defending Americans from illegal immigrants and knowing the Democrats would not stand. So it creates a contrast. It creates a – just shows that the Democrats are unwilling to cross the aisle to do what is right on these issues on which a majority of Americans agree with the president. So he knew it. His speechwriting team knew it. I am certain that was probably an idea that he tossed out in the meeting putting this speech together. and it was a master class in the presentation, knowing that they would not stand up and that that would appear on television. Yeah, and this was an hour and 41-minute speech. I'll ask you the same thing that I asked Brian Wilson and I think Tim Burchard. It was an hour and 41 minutes, and I fell asleep because I was really tired because I worked the mornings, but I don't feel like the speech lost any momentum. And really, the impact of that speech will be felt today, literally right now, as people are discovering all of the clips on YouTube and Twitter and Instagram and so forth. Brian Wilson made an excellent point in the last segment. He said, you know, maybe not everybody watched the entire speech and I didn't catch the entire speech in real time. What I can tell you is it will be clipped. It'll be on social media. You know for a fact the White House will push it out on Instagram and other platforms, and then talking heads like me on a program like this or on television or anywhere else will come on and talk about clips and segments, and it will permeate the national discourse beyond the folks who stayed up for an hour and 41 minutes. Now, President Trump, most of the time he makes a speech, it is about 90 minutes in length. I've seen him speak at Republican National Committee meetings, and you pretty much know for a fact that it's going about 90 minutes. So this went just a little bit longer than that. It is, I think, his longest State of the Union speech, but it was full of policy wins, opportunities, nodding to the midterms on the issues that Republicans can run on. This was a this was a really good speech by the president. I think so too And I think you are spot on when you talk about you know the theatrics And one of the things that I mentioned in the previous interview you may have heard about heard it But you know when the president really set the Democrats up the day before when he hosted the Angel families at the White House And so, you know, that also was an incredible moment for the president. A number of different things that happened, and I covered this yesterday, but one of them was the cop who arrested the killer of Lake and Riley in New York, and New York just let him go. And then ultimately he killed Lake and Riley. I mean, those are stories that I believe really do matter, and those are stories that do need to be told because with each and every one of those stories, it's an indication as to how the Democrats policies lead to things like death and ruin. I mean, coming up, I'm going to talk about Abigail Spanberger. I know that you know who she is, the current now governor of Virginia. And what she said that is absolutely ridiculous as it relates to Virginia and America being more affordable, thanks to the Democrats. I did play this earlier. This is the response to the State of the Union. Matthew, of course, from Middle Tennessee, though you live in Virginia. This is your new governor and what she had to say regarding the president's speech. But here in Virginia, I am working with our state legislature to lower costs and make the Commonwealth more affordable. So I know, Matthew, that you in particular find that hysterical because of all of the new taxes that she is implementing. I want to play this this companion clip real quick just so that I can get your comment on both. Here's a list of the many tax increases and proposals Democrats in Virginia are considering passing. They include additional local sales tax in all Virginia counties and cities, new personal property tax on electric leaf blowers and electric landscaping equipment, large employer tax, gun and ammunition tax, new income tax brackets, a delivery tax. This would hit you if you make an order on Amazon, Uber Eats or an order that includes UPS, FedEx delivery, etc. here in northern Virginia. There's also a tax they're looking out for events, concerts, an investment income tax, storage facility tax, gym membership tax, dog walking tax, dog grooming tax, counseling tax, digital personal property tax, new car taxes and highway use fees, an increase in the hotel tax here in Arlington. Statewide speed cameras. Now, these aren't taxes, but they would include more fines for some drivers. Dry cleaning tax. Home repair tax. and a vehicle repair tax. I mean, really. But here in Virginia, I am working with our state legislature to lower costs and make the Commonwealth more affordable. So, I don't know, Matthew. It doesn't sound like she's trying to lower costs. Well, Dan, it is so good to hear WJLA's Nick Monock on Nashville Talk Radio. He is like Phil Williams' arch nemesis, because he digs in on these issues, and he is absolutely right. Nick is the reporter we hear in that audio clip, and he does the hard work to investigate not only these taxes, 51 tax increases proposed in Democrat legislation in Richmond, many of them targeting, as you heard near the end of this, what, minute and a half long rattling off of tax increases, targeting Arlington, Fairfax, Alexandria, which are the most far left communities in Virginia, sure, and the most affluent communities. So they think that they can treat their voters, mostly Democrats up here, their voters like a piggy bank. But Virginians are being gaslit. They're being gaslit on affordability, and they're being gaslit on the constitutional amendment to redistrict, gerrymander these lines, and it is an outright lie. What I saw that was interesting to me, Dan, before Governor Spanberger made her response, the Democrats were really upset that she was doing it in colonial Williamsburg, which is the colonial capital of Virginia. We're celebrating America's 250. This was the capital of Virginia before they moved to Richmond, and they were very upset that Abigail Spanberger was representing white colonists in this. So there's no shortage of things for Democrats to be upset about within and among their own party. But these tax increases are the exact opposite of affordability. Well, here's the way that I look at it. Maybe you can add some additional color to this. But I think that what she's ultimately doing is she's raising taxes on the people that are working in the state of Virginia. What she's doing is she's she's making it affordable for the people that they want to give a bunch of free stuff to. Well, yeah, and that is absolutely right. This is a wealth transfer. However, in a place like northern Virginia, it disproportionately impacts her voters. So I'm interested to see how the opposite of the affordability argument plays out in the midterms in northern Virginia because so many of the people, thousands and thousands of people whose money is being raided to give to the takers' side of this equation are her voters or Democrat voters. Let me ask you, Matthew. So I keep talking about this because I think it's an important thing. But, you know, 54 percent approved of Donald Trump's policies leading America into the right direction. After the speech, 64 percent were approving of the president's policies, taking us into the right direction. So an additional 10 percent. So it does seem like the president's speech did land. And I think that the question is, OK, so does that mean that a lot of the American people also saw the Democrats behaving badly? And it seems to me like they played right into Donald Trump and the Republicans hands. Yeah, I think you're right here, Dan. I think that one of the things that is going to trip up Democrats this year is orange man bad. It is the it was it's what motivates their base. But it isn't a policy solution for them, for the middle, those independents who are making up their mind and will make up their mind into October and November. And I think they just look foolish this year. Well, they sure do. And for people that are just joining us, you know, I saw last night Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, but particularly Ilhan Omar, screaming at the president. And I said this in the interview with Brian Wilson as well. You know, there's something unseemly about Ilhan Omar, Somalian, after we know what happened in Minnesota with the billions of dollars in fraud, U.S. taxpayers, all that money going to the Somalian community. And she wouldn't even stand for, you know, the government wanting to protect Americans. She wouldn't, again, stand for victims, families that were killed by criminals out on the streets because of the Democrats soft on crime policies. There's just something unseemly about that. Again, this is that that stark partisanship, the the TDS or orange man bad syndrome that the Democrats have. They can't give him a win because that would mean that that Hitler, in their mind, has a win and he can't get a win at all. And again, I think this this opposite of coming to the table with solutions or agreeing when the other party does something right is going to set them back this midterm cycle. All right, Matthew, is there anything else we we have not talked about that we should? Well, this is the second time this week I've been on with you, Dan. So I just appreciate the opportunity. And it is up to your listeners and the folks who are tuned in to go out and make the case for our principles as we head into these midterm elections. The historically, the party in the White House has a setback in the midterms and we can make we can change history by showing up and making our voices heard and voting. That's right. All right. Thank you, Matthew. We'll talk to you again soon. It is a seven fifty three on Nashville's Morning News on Supertalk 997. Joan, I think that if there is just, you know, one message from this morning's broadcast, it's talking about the Democrats. although again i still feel like the best part of that comment was when the congressman said excuse me excuse me excuse me oops i'll go ahead and put myself in the corner said congressman tim birchett i i gotta tell you i'm getting so many differing uh comments from listeners about whether or not this thing actually did go out over the air Tim Birch is calling the Democrats a-holes. I don't know if... Maybe it has to do with the distance away you were. From the radio? I know radio waves travel very fast, but I'm just saying. I don't think that's it. No. I'm trying to be hopeful, man. It's the biggest game on the planet, and nobody breaks it down like Jim Rome. Super Bowl run. Who do you think will be the last one standing this year?
