40 min
•Apr 10, 20269 days agoSummary
NFL players Jarvis Landry and Joe discuss Miles Garrett's absence from Browns offseason workouts, debate Travis Hunter's optimal position (cornerback vs. receiver), and reflect on their playoff victory over Pittsburgh and near-Super Bowl run with the Browns.
Insights
- Elite defensive players like Miles Garrett may not need OTA participation to maintain peak performance, but new coaching staff benefit from visible buy-in from star players to establish culture
- Travis Hunter's elite ball skills and instincts make him a generational cornerback prospect rather than a gadget offensive player, despite his versatility at Colorado
- The 2020 Browns playoff upset over Pittsburgh was driven by emotional intensity and preparation rather than superior talent, with defensive contributions outweighing offensive performance
- Podcast hosting provides former athletes a platform to recreate locker room camaraderie and maintain relevance post-retirement while building authentic audience connections

Quotes
"Miles do what he want to do, so you don't want your top defensive player to be there. Miles ain't got no time. They're showing buy-in, so everybody else shows."
Jarvis Landry
"I think he can be a Hall of Fame. One of the best to do it at corner. I think he's a natural corner. His ball skills and where he can do a rival receiver, putting that at the cornerback position is what makes cornerbacks elite."
Joe
"That year was crazy because we played y'all back to back. It's almost like y'all let us in the playoffs because y'all didn't really play most of y'all starters. And then the next week, we played y'all in the wild card and that shit was so personal to us, bro."
Jarvis Landry
"He got more tackles in the NFL than drop passes in his career. Like, when was he tackled? Like, people don't even mention this man in a top five."
Jarvis Landry
"It's been a fucking honor, bro, watching both of y'all play the game at a high level for as long as y'all played the game. I have a tremendous amount of respect and love for both of you."

This is an I Heart Podcast. Guaranteed human. No gloss, no filter. Just stories, spoken without fear. A person who is not generous cannot be an artist. The world will be at peace only when it is ruled by poets and philosophers. Listen to my weekly podcast, the Pooja Bhachon on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Come for the honesty, stay for the fire. Yes, how do you feel about these off-season programs? So our boy Miles Garrett, they talking about, because my man Lamar Jackson showed up, Shadoor showed up, Deshaun showed up, Dylan Gabriel showed up, and Miles Garrett didn't show up. Where was it? Where was it? So he's on track to lose a million dollars in 2016 in the compensation since his contract includes a million dollars in workout bonuses in 2016. On the bonus, he need to be there for 84% at the off-season workouts, OTAs, and report timely for training camp. Listen, what you thinking? What you thinking, just, what's going on? Miles Garrett, Miles can go do whatever he want to do. That's what I'm saying, I was trying to... Miles do what he want to do, so you don't want your top defensive player to be there. Miles ain't got no time. They're showing buy-in, so everybody else shows. Miles Garrett is the most broad-in person in the Cleveland Browns organization. Thank you. Thank you. He the most paid, brought in, shows me, like, I want to see you there, like, you know, I want you to be there. Like, I actually showed up for our stuff, even though I went and trained out in Arizona, I still was there, like, yo, this is the part where I need to show that as one of the leaders of this team, I'm buying into this, so I need other players to see this. So I would show up for things like that. But Miles lead in his own way, right? Yes. Miles is not a big in front of the team. I mean, you got a new head coach. Show me the new head coach you like, and buy in, because I'm feeling like this right now, if that's my homeboy, like, oh, here, my dude Miles ain't show up, oh, well, we ain't messing with him. I'm rocking with you right now. I feel like, I feel like Miles, listen, I play with Miles. Miles is not the type of leader to speak up in front of the team. When he do speak in front of the team, he got everybody's attention, right? But he's more of the guy by guy in his room type of leader, right? We know what Miles Garrett's gonna bring to the table. I'm sure Miles Garrett had called D. and Jimmy Haslam, called Todd Monkin, welcome him to the team. I talked to him. He didn't talk to him, yeah? Juice, he's lying. He didn't talk to him. He gone, he gone, he, that's what I'm saying. He'll do shit like that. That's what I'm saying. You believed you too. I was like, that's what I'm saying. He didn't do a straight face. Yeah, I talked to him. No, no, no. But I feel like it's communicated. You know, I think to your point, Debo, he could have showed up for the first day, first week, and then been out of there. But if a guy like Miles don't come, it's no harm, no foul. I know what I'm gonna give him. I mean, do we have a new defensive scheme? Do we have a new defensive playbook? Like, cause I'm sure the new D. Coordinator came in there and he like, dude, I'm not about to run this dude's stuff who just left Schwartz and left y'all hanging. I'm about to show y'all I could do it better. You think they running the same thing, doing the same scheme? That's no change of my Garrett. Just go get that caught in back. You change what you need to know as far as where you're gonna be on the field. That's all I'm sure. The guys that play around him need to be able to get a feel for what he's gonna do. Domination. You know what I'm saying? I'm just saying so. I'm so used to doing things correctly. I don't know how to not have a team effort. So you can get a team Lombardi. Yeah, but when you were there, right? You had personalities, right? Was A.B., LaVion, Bill, was all these guys showing up to OTAs? Oh, every single one. No, not every single one, not every single time. Right, so. But they was there. Was they there or not, Joe? I mean. That's the truth, saying the devil. Was they there? When the OTAs came, were they there? Were they there? No, I'm talking about the regular, like any team activities, not mandatory, but if it was a team activity, was they there? I got CTE. I don't remember. Wow, this is the guy, CTE, no. I don't remember. I don't remember. I would say this. Shit, I'm talking about Jarvis. Go ahead, Jarvis. No, I would say this. Again, for Miles Garrett, he's not a player that I'm going to worry about. I understand the team aspect of it. He could have showed up maybe for the first week, but again, I'm sure he's going to be there for mandatorys. As far as learning to play book and stuff like that, D-Bo, there's only so many tackle in twists and games that we can run that ain't nobody developing no new game or no new twist. That's the problem. Most of these coaches trying to redevelop the world. That's why every team looking so crazy and defenses don't work and offenses look sloppy. Everybody want to put their own hook on it. You can't change too much of anything without destroying everything. So this is what I'm saying. I'm with you. Miles Garrett, earlier in the careers and too, like he is, he just came on all 23 sacks. When he walks into the room, everybody's going to know. He's going to be mandatory, mini camp. He's lifting weights elsewhere. When Miles comes, he's going to look ridiculous and look like he's ready to go. 100%. Like I'm with you a thousand percent on this. It's not as big of a deal. If he was a quarterback, if we need you to be working with your receivers, right? Miles, when Miles comes, you pluck him in at defensive end. He's going to be the best in the league to do what he has to do. Like you can't teach what Miles got. He's a biggest chess piece on the board. Yes. I don't even, man, go do what you've been doing. You just come, you coming off. Just come back, just face the player of the year. Yes. I get what y'all saying. Cleveland ain't got the type of coaches that's going to actually give him any nuggets, right? No, but he's going to come get these nuggets. I mean, look, yeah. I'm a mandatory, mini camp. It's Cleveland. It's just a lot of, I know 100%. I know 100% mandatory, mini camp. He'll be there. I just don't think that he's a guy that I know we need to see a lot of doing OTAs, you know, in just jerseys and sharts. I'm just saying you just got a new coach. I know we're saying it's a, it's definitely be a good look to be both. I'm just saying, you know what I'm saying? Hey, Miles, but I love it. You do what you want to do, Miles. You the baddest defensive player in the NFL. If not the best player in the NFL, do what you want to do. Go where you want to go. Be where you want to be. You want to go chill with your girl. Go chill with your girl. You want to go there and take her on vacation for OTAs. You do that because you the man and you go always be the man. I'm Jarvis Landry and I approve of that message. No matter what. Yep. No question. That's another SEC guy. I don't know. I like to speak to egos. Joe, no, I like to speak. Don't come out that way. You know, don't go too crazy. Cause Miles, he don't speak to me. He gonna come out there. 26 sack. 28. 28. Yeah. 28. How many get on the stillest? I mean, I don't know. None. He ain't getting none. It's a season stat for, for a reason. It's a season stat. We don't care about what he did to get everybody else. It's black and gold. I mean, 2020, you went on out there. You got you nine for, you know, you, what was it? Nine for 95, five for 95, something like that. You know what I'm saying? You want to, you know, you want a game against Oh yeah. Pittsburgh. Oh yeah. Oh the player game. I went against the player. Oh no, Joe. I'm sorry. Joe got beat that game. How, hey man. How did that feel? How did that feel? How did you beat Joe? No. I'm Joe. You play for the stillers in 2020. I know. You're just part of the team. So stop it. Let him answer the question. I mean, you know what? Play the game? I didn't play the playoff game. I don't care. I know I was watching. I watched. I'm talking to, can you let Jarvis answer this? Please thank him. Man, you know what? D-Woe, that year was crazy because we played y'all back to back. It's almost like y'all let us in the playoffs because y'all didn't really play most of y'all starters. And then the next week, we played y'all in the wild card and that shit was so personal to us, bro. And I think y'all, I think the stillers just kind of looked at it like maybe look past us. But like, it was that game was so game personal, bro. Like we were so hyped. Like I can't even tell you. It was like, hey, there was like, we go let y'all in and go ahead and slap y'all in the playoffs. That's how y'all felt. That's how we felt, bro. And I'm telling you, when we pulled up to the stadium, bro, the energy was crazy, bro. Everybody had the stilly eye look like nobody talking. You know what I'm saying? It wasn't even like, nobody had to say anything before the game. At that time, I think, who it was, Juju Smith was doing like the Carvet, Curvet thing on everybody logo and all that stuff. Bro, I'm telling you our mentality going into that game. That's why you see the energy like that. Like when I score, if you go back to my touchdown, I ain't even celebrate. Like I was just about to run to the still side line. You looking angry. Yeah, like it's up the whole game. Oh, I wasn't. Y'all low key lucky that we scored more defensive points that we score defensive points that game too. Cause it got out of hand early. Bro, cause obviously the first snap, the ball flipped over this one over my man head. Yo, yo. That's how you start. We started the game. I'm watching, I had COVID. So I'm watching from the crib like, oh, no, no, no. Like I thought I was watching the movie. Yeah. First play of the game. Ball flipped over my man head. That was a horrible move. So I'm looking at there, bro. Y'all just, it was, yeah, it was not a good look. Bro, we, we. Who'd y'all play after that? Man, play Kansas City. Took him down to the, took him down to the wire. We had a bad, we had a bad call, bad call. One of our guys, those people in touchdown, he got hit, ball crossed the line and said, it was a touchback. Listen, that game. Oh no, one of those. Bro, one of those. That game, Patrick Mahon get hurt in the third quarter. He's out for the rest of the game. Y'all thought it was over with you. It was like, we got stars are aligned. The stars are aligned. They both like, I'm looking, I'm looking like, at first I'm like, okay, listen, we got to be perfect. You know, you played them games and it's like, yes, bro, we got to be perfect. You playing against my, my homes, you playing against Rodless Burger. Like you have to be locked in my homes went down. We was like, listen, we've really, we good. Man, Chad Hennie come off the bench, bro. And just not Hennie off the Hennie. Chad Hennie off the Hennie. Hennie, Hennie off the Hennie. Destroyed it, bro. So we ended up, we ended up losing that game. That same year we had beat Buffalo, right? That same year we had beat Buffalo. So we knew that if we won that game, we were going to probably play Buffalo. And we had beat them already. Bro, they beat them already. We, we ain't look, we wasn't looking for anything. But we, we already knew that like, bro, we could play in a Super Bowl like that. Super Bowl team. And that year we didn't even, that year we lost O'Dell in like game like nine, game nine or 10. We lost O'Dell. So we didn't even have O'Dell back. And we were kind of, we made that push through the playoffs. So the next year when we got him back, we thought it would be like, okay, now we finally hear, right? And then he got traded to the Rams and you know, the rest is history. Damn. Crazy. Crazy. Crazy. Crazy. Crazy turn of events. Crazy turn of events. Chat and Hini off the Hini. Crazy. Crazy, chat and Hini off the Hini. That, that into a possible historic run for y'all. It was man. It ended the team. In reality, like Joe was talking about, cause in reality O'Dell left the whole, the whole controversy between O'Dell and Baker happened. Right. And then O'Dell leaves, we lose. And then that next year, I think I'm released. Like, you know, Baker's gone. I'm released. Sean wants to come in. Like that's the end of the run. Yup. We had two years together. That's it. And we had one and a half. Matter of fact, speaking of O'Dell, he's trying to go back to the Giants. What do you think of the possibilities of him being there? You think it's a good idea? You think hardball actually make that move? Man, in a relationship there, you know what I mean? Like, I think, I think for, for me looking at it, and just as a fan and as my brother, I want to see him ball. Yup. Like, I want to see him. I want to see him go somewhere. They're going to put the ball in his hands too. Like, again, like I understand, you know what I mean? But like, put the ball in his hands. Do you think New York would be sweet though? I think he, I think because if they got my league, they got my league neighbors and then he could be, if he could still be two, you know what I'm saying? I think he could still be able to get the ball out there. And I think towards you, when you get towards the end of your career, No gloss, no filter, just stories, spoken without fear. Addiction is a disease and it should be looked upon as any other disease. How did you cope with a reckless father like me? Join me, Pooja Bhatt, as I sit down every week with directors, actors, musicians, technicians and beyond. You don't need to work with the biggest people and the biggest sound to have great music. I have gone through the sub-CD hachaka. Reach the pinnacle, stung by the sneaker, and I've fallen down again. Yeah, I am not writing actively anymore and when I see my old work, it kind of saddens me. I'm only as good as the last shot that I gave. Mom's gone but don't shut the theater. The show must go on. Listen to my weekly podcast, the Pooja Bhat Show on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Come for the honesty, stay for the fire. With the play, where it started and it being a good situation, they got a young quarterback, they got a scatterbou. They don't just look weak, they look like they're trying to do something so he wouldn't just be going. They got swag. About to get beat. Yeah, the quarterback got swag. They got, you know what I'm saying? And that's what, oh, brought to New York. So I think it would be a nice fitting way to, you know what I'm saying? Because I know he's still on the play. He been running around, getting right. So for me, I want to see him ball. And him in the 13th in New York always, it was legendary. So that would be crazy. Yeah, it'll be crazy, bro. It'll be crazy. And I think they got like the second or the third pick this year too. So from what I've seen, the Jeremiah Love Kicker potentially, you know, show up there and be a giant. I think that could be an amazing, amazing fit to add a piece like Odell to that. Right. Especially neighbors coming off the ACL. Right. It could be a great. It could be a match made in having to be able to run the football, Plexion, fake some stuff, get Odell in different, you know, that third level, second, third level, right? Lemon League neighbors do his thing. I saw and it could be, it could be a great fit. Come in, Scatterboot, come back in and bring some more elements in the red zone. I think it'd be awesome. I think it'd be awesome. Match made in heaven and at a fair price. Yeah. Is it going to have to be? I mean, it's going to have to be, but I'm saying that's that's the beauty of it. That's the beauty of it. That's the beauty of it. We both need to take to the tango. Yeah. No question. No question. I get you. I get you for a little bit. And you're going to give me some, you're going to give me that you will give me some some return. For sure. Yes, sir. I sound like a great investment. That's not like a great investment in me. New York. Yeah. Let's go on down here to Jacksonville, man. They got they got Travis Hunter. They said he could be a full time cornerback. I guess they're going to give him some gadget plays offense. No longer 50 50 split like he did in Colorado. Do y'all like this move? Do y'all like him being more of a cornerback or more of a over receiver? Which one do you think? Go ahead and go on that one. Oh, for me, I think he can be a Hall of Fame. One of the best to do it at corner. I think he's a natural corner. His ball skills and where he can do a rival receiver, putting that at the cornerback position is what makes cornerbacks elite. Being able to track the ball, being able to not get uncomfortable, being able to not panic on the fade, being able to not grab, being able to like, literally you see the ball, I see the ball. Now I'm going to turn and receiver. I'm going to jump over the receiver, catch the ball and instincts, not being afraid to tackle, not being afraid to hit. He's amazing with the ball in his hands. So when I look at prime time, Deion Sanders, Deion Sanders could have been a wide receiver. He could have been the receiver in the league and did work at receiver. But I don't think it would have been prime time, the best cornerback, the best receiver to ever play the way that I look at him as the best cornerback to ever play. And when we say gadget plays, do the same thing as him. Make you could put him at punt returner. Let him get a couple of kickoff returns when you need it. Put him at wide receiver a little bit. That those are the positions where that man's an athlete. Put him in the punt return fair catch. But if he catches that punt, he can take that to the crib. Game changer kickoff with H hand. When he catches that kickoff with space, you want space in grass. What coach like what coach T would say, do you give me ball and green grass? You get that in Travis Hunter's hands, then he's going to be explosive. So on defense, in my opinion, just the footwork, the ball skills, the speed, the not afraid to hit. All that is what makes him unbelievably elite at corner receiver. He can do it too. And I'm not saying he wouldn't be amazing. He could probably go pro bowl. But just from my eyes, I'm like, dude, you can be one of the best to ever do it at corner from his Colorado state. What do you think? What do you think, man? Joe said every point that I would that I literally would say from being elite to being a part returner to using his instincts as from from taking that receiver instinct to the defense side of the ball. We saw a lot of that at Colorado before he came out where he falling from he falling off of the under to the wheel. Yes. Making playing off instincts playing. I think he could play faster that way. You know what I mean? I think his ability is through the roof of what he could do defensively more than what he can give you as an offensive player. Offensively, offensively, there's too many limitations. There's too many other needs for him to be successful. The quarterback has to be perfect. The old line has to this. The coverage has to be, you know, there's there's so many times coach offers coach draw you up a play and they run a perfect coverage that that ball don't go to you. Right. So I want to see Travis Hunter be as explosive as he can be on every play. And I think being on the defense side of the ball gives us a chance to do that. Yeah, helps the football team. You guys. Yeah, definitely helps the football team a lot more. And then, like you said, you can still get him over there every nine in the city, city we could what he could do right there on that on that on that one, Travis Hunter, you put him on your number one receiver. And I'm liking that. Like he's not afraid of nobody like nobody's going to out athlete that man. Right. And then he gets to learning what route is this man going to run? I'm not just going to have to play man. I'm going to know he's over split is third and three. I'm playing with the quarterback. I'm jumping this hitch. Because when I see him in zone cover two, he's playing high to low playing with the quarterback. He's picking off the low route when you post to make sure you take away the seven and then you come down and pick the hitch. I'm like, that you posted just catching tackle. That's you post to make a tackle there. When you pick that off, I'm like this. Okay, you're in score. You know what I'm saying? And then you score. You know what I'm saying? Like, you don't even die. And he's died, then catching it. And then one, you're in league. You can get up and run. Like his his ball skills, his a way to catch the ball and all of his, his smarts and now being able to let the NFL game slow down and be out there all the time knowing I'm a corner. I'm following this dude. I'm going to be able to study him. Now you can be able to lock it down and be able to be one of the best corners instead of, all right, I'm going to do a little bit of defense. Yeah. Then I'm going to go ahead and try and figure out what I got. Get into this offensive back. Like, yeah, he's definitely game changer. Sorry. Give me your top five receivers and lead right now. Right now. Right now. Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase. City lamb. Like that. Jasson and Saint Brown. Give me your five all the time. Jerry. Yep. Larry. Nice hands. Tio. Yeah. And I'm going to throw in my two dark horses. Because I, because it's your top because it's yours. And Quambo then and Hans Ward. Oh, over. Listen, that's that's that's my two dark horses. I think Moss is obviously Moss is Moss is there, but I didn't watch Tio is my favorite receiver growing up. Right. Okay. Jerry Rice was my my uncle's favorite receiver. So he was the reason that my brother wore number 80. Okay. And then I wore number 80 for my brother. So I just fell in love with Jerry Rice that way. Okay. Yes. Even though he the goat, he the goat greatest of all time. Yes. Hands down. Right. Um, uh, Hans Ward. Yes. I remember this dude broke somebody jaw on crack block. Hey, the A. Hey, look, I told you to change the rules on both sides of the ball, man. That's why they brought that crack back back, man. You should be able to go up there and clean somebody up. You gotta realize who that's the Hans Ward rule. You gotta realize he broke a river's jaw over there. Yeah. I realize what type of player that you talking to. Huh? You, you running the ball, you blocking, you getting gritty with it. You trying, you are toting the ball through the paint. 100%. 100%. So, so I, I watched, I watched a ton of Hans Ward and Hans Ward, obviously toward the end of his career, he got bigger, right? Have more, have a set, right? But like, Hans Ward is an animal. Like, I don't know. No question. And I hate that people like that get blocked. You hate that people when you say Hans Ward get the look of crazy. Yeah. Or, or, or that people forget, people forget. Right. Like, like that, that brought this hall of famer. Yes. Like every like this dude was, this dude was like, legit for a long, long, long time. Yes, brother. You, and this is the Pittsburgh nightclub still. And that's why people like Hans will always be remembered because people like you, they're not going to let them be forgotten. Oh, he can't. He can't. He on my Mount Rushmore. Like he up there, like D-Ball. I'm telling y'all, I'm telling you, Joey, I'm telling y'all. I used to watch this guy highlight tapes. The reason why I blocked the way I blocked was because of Hans Ward. Come on, man. And then, you know, also my knock-a-see, the highest ward in your game. For sure. My knock was always my speed. So I was always looking at players that was very similar to me to how can I adapt my game? Because if they're playing at that level, I believe that I could play at that level, not being a speed demon or whatever it is. And back when I came in, that was a big thing, but it wasn't the biggest thing like it is now, right? As how fast is this kid, right? Yeah. But it was more about, is he a football player? And I feel like I had game speed. I watch, you watch and quam, bolding. That's what I was about to say. What about Quam? Bro, killer. I'm going to say Anquam bolding first touch was a touchdown. If I'm not mistaken, his first touch in the NFL was a touchdown when he was out in Arizona, winning number 81. I'm going to say he was number 81. Yes. Yes. Yes. Oh, animal. Because my time I remember Anquam was when he played for the Ravens and he was so strong and I did not, I did not like Anquam because he would block me so hard. I thought he had a problem with me because like, some dudes, you know, they might run the receiver off. He's a receiver. If it's a run, if it's a running play, he's going to hat in hands me. And I'm like, bro, I'm like, bro, like, like, I thought he was my, no, he just not saying it again, not saying nothing to me like, no, like, there's no communication. I'm just about to dog you. I'm like this. Okay. I respect it because you playing all within the rules in the whistles, but you really running up on me and hat in hand to me every time. My all time favorite, bro. He won my all time favorites. And then obviously Larry Fitzgerald, Larry Fitzgerald. I got, I got a cut up of when, when I was in high school, Larry Fitzgerald making all his crazy ass catches when he was out in Pittsburgh practicing, you know, Pittsburgh. And I'm like, man, who is this guy? This guy like, damn, he catching everything with one hand. He catching behind his back. He dive in all this. And I'm like, for me, he showed me that any pat, any time a ball is thrown to receiver in, in a catch radius, it's catchable. Yes. If you touch it, bro, bro, this man got crazy hands. That man got the best one of the craziest stats ever. He got more tackles in the NFL than drop passes in his career. Come on. Like, when was he tackled? Like, people don't even mention this man in a top five. No, no, no. Yeah. That let me talk about talking about flashing. I talk about flashy and getting it done. Or I'm gonna get done. Like, and he played on one team. It's a tiger. Stand up, stand up, dude. You never heard nothing about Larry ever out the way. No, no, no, no. He on my mind. Westmore. Yeah. Get out there. Way up the way, brother. Jarvis, you, you just started your podcast, I guess a little while ago with a little for that. Yes, sir. Forth and south, man. How that's going, man. What, what, what have you learned through this process, bro? It's going well, bro. You know, it's a transition, right? You know, so it's a transition. So, you know, we still working out the case, man, but, you know, we got great people around us, great team. Like you guys got a great team around you. And a lot of that makes it, you know, easier to just come on and talk and do our thing. And it helps having relationships with good people, man, like you guys, you know, that mean and other people that, you know, we're bringing on the show here and there. Sure. It's amazing, man. I can't say enough about it. I wouldn't, I wouldn't say it's something I saw myself doing. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Tell me real. I would not say I saw myself doing it, but at the end of the day, man, I do get enjoyed. I do get enjoy, I enjoy like feeling that locker room feel again. You know what I mean? Like just chopping it up with y'all. Like this would be conversations between practice somewhere in training camp. But you know what I mean? We would be having in the locker room. So, you know, I do, I do enjoy that a lot. How did it come about with you being with you and Lenny? Man, so, so, so Leonard was, you know, just talking one day on Instagram saying he wanted to do a podcast, not DM them right away. I was like, man, we do a podcast. Let me know, man. I love to like either come on a show or whatever. And he was like, man, you should do it with me. And then from there, it just, it just kind of came to life, man. Oh, that's perfect. Yeah, bro. Naturally, naturally. And we know we never played, we never really played together either. Like you and Dibo, right? You know, we played. I mean, we ain't played together. I was there. I was on the same team. I wasn't playing. Yeah, we were on the same team. Yeah, I said, like me and Joe was the kind of the set. Well, little, little, well, yeah, kind of the same thing. Like actually, you know, I was looking at, you know, doing it, whatever. And basically, you know, we're looking for someone and me and Joe ended up going to a camp softball charity game. And we just started chopping it up. Like we had been kicking it for the last 15, 20 years in each other every day. And I'm like, yo, what about Joe? Like, yeah. It worked out. So that's the best way to do it. I was like, yeah, man, I was thinking about doing two like that. I'm in the process. It's like, yo, here's the best way to do it, bro. That's the best way where it happened naturally, authentically and organic. You know what I mean? That makes it easy. And y'all boys got great chemistry. I'll be checking out the show all the time, bro. So, you know, keep up the great work, man. Appreciate it. When are y'all on, man? Y'all, y'all live, y'all recorded. What times do y'all come on? So we go, we go Mondays and Thursdays. OK. And our show normally drops like sometimes it drops on Tuesday, sometimes it's top drop on Friday. But, OK, you know, for the most part, man, we we we we shooting, you know, every week, like last week when, you know, Joe came on. Got on the show. Y'all gonna see me on. You know what I'm saying? It's actually released. It's actually released in today. So it's perfect. You know what I mean? And check it out. Yeah. And it's, yeah, man, it's great, bro. It's great. Good vibe. Definitely. We don't get into the super chat. So I think you both. Yeah, we go jumping to them super chats right here. We got we got Liam nine zero eight seven five. I appreciate you, Liam. He said if it's press man covers one on one, Joe Hayden. Oh, I think it's all in. Who beaten him. Damn, Joe, why they always doing this? Yeah, why they got to go like that? They already know you already know you already know how he's gonna be. Look, it's big on big. No gloss. No filter. Just stories. Spoken without fear. Addiction is a disease and it should be looked upon as any other disease. How did you cope with a reckless father like me? Join me, Pooja Bhatt, as I sit down every week with directors, actors, musicians, technicians and beyond. You don't need to work with the biggest people in the biggest sound to have great music. I have gone through the sub city. The chakka reached the pinnacle stung by the sneaker. I've fallen down again. Yeah, I am not writing actively anymore. And when I see my old work, it kind of saddens me. I'm only as good as the last shot that I gave. Mom's gone, but don't shut the theater. The show must go on. Listen to my weekly podcast, the Pooja Bhatt show on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Come for the honesty. Stay. They're going big. We can't win some. I'm going to win some. That's it, period. You know, man, they too nice. They too. We respect each other, man. And we honest. Yeah, I know. That's why you got to jump on this nail. Like, bro, you're not about to stop me. I'm going to go ahead and get this seven yard dig on this on this third and five. And you ain't going to do nothing. But you see, you see, it's like it's the game of receiver DB, right? It's like it's like it's not only is it a chess match, right? But it's a it's a it's a little bit of I already know I'm anticipating. Oh, that's what I'm saying. I anticipate going 10 for 10, right? Joe anticipate going 10 for 10. But realistically, I just need one more catch. Just need one more. I need one more. Yeah, that's that's that's really who went about. You know what I mean? That's how it goes. You know what I'm saying? So, man, that's the best part. It's always big. All right, hold up. I can catch no balls in this. Go to the table. Hold up. Let me get some. Now, let me get some nails. Let me get some there. All right. It's a all out zero coverage. No, no free zero coverage. Zero coverage. You need three. Oh, this is what I'm telling you. This one, I'm telling you. It just depends. This one, I'm telling you. It depends on the route. If he runs a go, he got me. If he runs anything under five and under seven yards, I'm I'm not moving. So I'm standing plant feet, planted. There's nothing you can do. I'm breaking the cross on the slant. So he double moves me or something like that. I'm hit and D line up. Because you ain't playing for the go. It's zero coverage. You said zero. I mean, we out. Listen, we out. Listen, slant and go. Slug go. Touch now. Yeah. But listen, but listen, awesome. Based on what I think about Depot, based on the situation you just gave, I ain't got no time for no double move. That's what I'm saying. It's all our blitz. It's all our blitz. You know what I want? You know what I would want in that situation. But you want? I would want to just throw it to me on the line. Give me a little smoke. Let me get that ball in my hand. And then I know it's just me and Joe. Now Joe got to tackle me. Quick step back. Quick step back. I got to find the frame. Just quick. I'll even come meet the ball just so I can get a little separation from Joe. Who with it? Who with it? Ball in your hand. Joe in front of you. I can't get three. I can't get three yards. It really is really going to be a how Joe react. It's really going to be on my reaction. That's what I like. It's really going to be a how Joe react. It's going to be moving backwards. We're going to hit helmets. Yeah. Oh for sure. We're going to bang it out. But if Joe don't react forward, when I move backwards to catch the screen. Yes. It's good. We got a situation here. Yeah. I need to get there. This could go either way. Oh, I'm running up. I'm running up. That's what I said. I'm not. I can't move. It depends on how I'm running. I wouldn't run a goal on Joe. And also Joe knows it's all our blitz. He's too smart to give up the slings. You know what I'm saying? If I ran a goal, he'll cut me off. You know what I'm saying? So that ain't really a good. The zero, the zero, the zero blitz joint is a defensive. Yeah. That's what we eat. Y'all better get there. That's on y'all, D-Bo. You know the ball coming out quick, acting blocked, looking all crazy. Hey, sometimes you got to make an executive decision to fake in coverage and get the pick for the hundred. You know, that's what. Yes. Yes. But you look, but you and but you engaged. This is true statement. We got boss man, ninety three zero nine seven five dollars said D-Bo, what was Troy like in day to day practice? He's my favorite player of all time. And I wish I wish he did more podcast and stuff. But I get why he doesn't. I don't know. Troy was Troy like he chill. Troy, Troy. Listen, I ain't gonna lie. That's my guy. Troy's practice is, you know, Troy practice like practice. Because he was made. He knew he knew he knew where he needed to see. He he he got a point. Oh, yeah. Troy. I know what you're going to do. Yeah. He get out. Yeah. You know, Troy, Troy was, you know, he was working through a lot of injuries when he played too. So I was a little different. I'm live with a fire off on you. And practice, you know. Yeah, no question. And teammate. If you run in the ball, you get it. Going to see you, mate. Oh, no question. Bruh, listen, if you run in the rock, you get hit. Now, pass in the middle. They got a different. I'm going to let you fly. But if you coming around that, you get that curl flat and you go to turn up. Oh, yeah, I'm going to hit you. I'm going to let you go. Yeah, look, you know, I used to like. I was a thousand percent. Damn. That's just that's just the way things. Coach, come get this man. Look, I'm going to get this. He ain't going once on once, man. I'm going to go in when the two is gone. But I was the type of person, man, I need to actually get the get the feel for it. I need I need to have the actual play. Like, so me looking at it and just going over it and over it did me no good. Like, I'm like, yo, I need to know, even if it's just the first, you know, five yards, I got to give it everything that, you know, I got. And in that process, if you were in that five yards, you go get that full speed. Yeah, that's what I would. I would get into that training camp. But then one on one's all that. I love all that smoke. I love all that smoke because that's when you get better. That's when you really compete, man. Yeah, same. Yeah, yeah, for sure, brother. We got a boss man back again. Two dollars. It said, uh, and Joe, any advice for my son playing flag football? He is six. You got any advice for him, Joe? Listen, just work on your flag pulling. Listen to your coach. Let's work on your flag pulling. Listen to your coach. Hopefully you got a good coach. It's all about what if it's coaches trash? It's all about right now. If honestly, it doesn't matter. It's all about effort. It's all about effort. All about trying your hardest. All about running in the direction of the other team and pulling the flags. Literally, Dibo is not too much going on out there. We run in the we run in the seven people. We got two corners, two safeties, two backers in the Russia. Smooth. Y'all get the rush. One rush. You got to be seven yards off the ball. Juice, you ever play? Hey, you want to get into the flag Olympics? Because Joe Burrow might be the quarterback if he don't come to Pittsburgh. Yeah, definitely. I definitely be up. All I need to give me give me get good little little month. A little month. All right. You a month. And you still young. You still moving around. You still active. Yeah, yeah, I'm still active. I'll be honest. I don't live as much anymore. I don't live really. But I play pickleball a lot. I play pickleball. All right, with the pickleball. I don't know. This pickleball. Hey, I'm telling you. I'm telling you. That's a good cardio. Seventy something. You're all being out there. It's the future, bro. I'm talking crazy. Pickleball is the future. The future of athletes transitioning. I'm telling you. When it's over with and you can't ask me no more, you got to move. You just you just be you be dinking. They call it. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. That's it. What's the you know, I know. Yeah, we got to get we got to get people out there, man. Deeper on the show. Yeah, we got to get people out there, man. We're actually it made me know it. This is the thing. The people that I see. I'm judgmental. Yes, I shouldn't be. But the body, not even the people, the body types that I see talking about pain. No, I do not look like people that need to be. That's the beauty of the beauty. And they mess around and be nice. And I'm telling you, that'd be the coolest ones. Tell me, listen, if they beat me, we got to fight. See, you want to see pickleball is a frilly sport. And they beat we got to go and frilly sport. Listen, I'm fighting the 75 year old man. And then we'll be a pickleball. Who's your ass a pickleball? That's how I feel about the Oaks and golf. You got to come out of our fight or fight, bro. Hey, you golfing? Man, I got that. I got I got all the utensils. I just don't use it. You got all the utensils. I just don't use it. Ain't nothing wrong with that, Jarvis. I got to you. I ain't even got the utensils, bro. Listen, bro, I went out there and I call myself, you know, driving that thing when I hit that thing, it boom, but it just shot. It shoots for the right. You slice it. You slice it. So I figured if I swing harder, it might go straight. That ain't work. Hey, man, I'm pulling my damn. Oh, oh, yeah. You. Yeah, I said, I don't know how I did it, but I pulled my delt somehow, like swinging the damn golf club. I don't do nothing. That's what they say. See, you can't get hurt like that playing pickleball. Let the club do the work. You can't get hurt like that. You're not supposed to be swinging the golf club that hard. That's what I'm saying. They just passed away playing pickleball, bro. Huh? What? Yes. A old, older man passed away playing pickleball. I guess he went to hit something. He fell, hit his head, went, God was in a was in a coma and they they ended up pulling the pub. I ain't lying to you. That's what I'm talking about. That what I'm still that's that's a freak. That's a freak. That's a freak. God rest his soul. For sure. Yeah. God rest his soul. I ain't no deal. But that was strong. You ain't what you had to pull it. Well, I'm just telling you this dangerous. No, no, no. You had to wear a helmet. I'm not going to say this. There's something. Tell me something. You want to try to hit the ball, man. Don't. It's crazy. Pickleball. Pickleball is more dangerous than football. I'm telling you. Let's get it started. Oh, listen, y'all. Listen, y'all heard it. Y'all heard it from Jarvis right now, baby. Pickleball more dangerous than football. Now don't be out there playing games. I love it. I love it. I love it. Juice.
