I'm from Del, Montana. Del, Montana. And how long have you been with Ambrook? I've been with Ambrook since last May and really just been enjoying learning everything along the way. And what's your role there? I am a product specialist, and so I both help new folks learn about Ambrook and folks that have been on the platform for a while. Just everything in between, and no matter how complex they are, I help them learn Ambrook. All right. And how has the show been here for you guys? It has been incredible. We've had everything from new partnerships, new prospects, and folks that are already on the platform stopping by the booth. And we've just had a lot of really great conversations. Yeah. What has been some of the buzz? What's everyone talking about? I think most of the buzz has just been around what is Ambrook and how does it work and how can it help our operation be more financially sustainable? And that's been a lot of our conversations. Okay. Then what do you tell them? What is Ambrook? Ambrook is an accounting software for agriculture. It's built for agriculture because a lot of times we have this really complex set of books. And as I'm sure you know, a lot of people have several different enterprises within their business. They might put up, hey, they might have a construction business on the side or a trucking business, and then they have their cow-calf operation. And so it's really just designed to be able to understand what's happening between these and is one maybe subsidizing the other one. Yeah. Well, it sounds like you guys have had a great show. if you guys haven't heard of ambrook i encourage you to check them out where can they do that at they can check us out at www.ambrook.com or we're probably on social media so definitely check us out there absolutely they are so check them out it'd be it'd be hard to not see because you guys are everywhere we are everywhere but if they have it if you're living under a rock check them out cory hillobo here with the farm for profit podcast and we are doing our trade show debrief at ncba cattle con 2026 in nashville tennessee and we're at ambrook and i got adam here adam who are you and where are you from? I'm a software engineer at Ambrook. I help build the product. I originally grew up in Minnesota. I live in Denver, Colorado now. That's quite the transition there. How long have you been with Ambrook? I've been with Ambrook for two years, since March 2024. Okay. Were you at this show last year? My first cattle con. It's your first cattle con. So what's the show been like? What everyone talking about The show been wonderful I just enjoy getting out here and been able to talk to customers and talk to new folks interested in Ambrook Everyone really excited about switching off of QuickBooks getting to use something that a little more made for farmers made for operators Yeah, and what makes Ambrook so different than QuickBooks? I think exactly that. It's made for operators. QuickBooks is a little more made for accountants. It's a little more targeted at your CPA who know all the financial terminology. Ambrook is built for the language of operators who know how their business works but might not know as much about the accounting side. Right. What did you say your role was? I'm a software engineer. Okay, so what are you doing on a daily basis? You're just in the background? Yeah, I'm writing code, making the app possible. When Haley and Nolan come to us with bug reports or feature requests for customers, I'm on the team that helps build those and bring those to life. That's awesome. How many are on that team? We've got, I want to say, 13 or 14 engineers right now. The team's growing quickly. So if you sign up for Ambrook and you have a problem, could probably talk to you and yeah you click that support button you'll get in touch with someone on the team and it makes it to my desk a few minutes after that that's awesome so ambrook's a great software accounting software i'd encourage you to check it out where can they do that at ambrook.com is the best best place to get started uh ncba members get a nice little discount on top of that nice i did not know that so you heard it here first cory hillough here at the farm for profit podcast and we were with nolan from ambrook and he's going to show me a a demo but first off What's your role with Ambrook? Yeah, so I'm on the product ops team here at Ambrook. So I work with customers, helping them get onboarded, answering any questions they have. And then I pass a lot of the feedback on to our engineers to help them build Ambrook. Great. How long have you been with them? I've been with Ambrook for around four months. Okay. So a little fresher. Pretty fresh. But it has been a wonderful experience so far. How has the show been for you? This is my first cattle con. So it's been pretty large, pretty grandiose. but it's been wonderful to meet people from across the country, meet customers, tell them about Ambrook. Great. Well, let's dive in. Show me what we've got going on here. So this is what Ambrook will look like when you first log in. This is your ledger, so all your transactions will come through. I think a lot of people come to Ambrook because they want to see a per-enterprise split or per-enterprise analytics. So typically you'll see your categories. You'll see stuff categorized as expense and income in this column right here. We can also tag an enterprise. I think this is what largely kind of makes us different or unique. If we go to settings here and click on enterprises, you can see essentially the different segments of a business. So a lot of producers we've talked to here will have a cow-calf operation and they might have a hay operation and a poultry part of their business. And essentially they'll want to see, oh, what's my cost per head? how profitable is my poultry operation, stuff of that nature. So in enterprises here, you can see essentially different segments of the business. The benefit of this is at the end of the year, when you go to your reports, you can essentially filter by enterprise, by location. So sometimes people might want to filter by different fields they have. They sell at farmer's markets, if they sell at stores, and then a few other tags we have as well. So it really a lot of these kind of enterprise level metrics that help producers and ranchers understand oh here how well my livestock business is doing stuff like that Right. It really looks like you can dive into each enterprise, get to know your operation intimately, right? Totally. And a lot of us farmers and ranchers, we like to farm and ranch. We don't like to sit in the office. So this is probably going to help save a lot of time. Totally. And there are a few other core features of Ambrick, too. We also have our native receipts feature. So a lot of customers will come to us with huge boxes of receipts, just piles. So you can essentially upload receipts here from a computer if you have Ambrick on your phone. So our mobile app, you can take pictures of receipts, or you can always set up email forwarding, so forward receipts. The benefit of this is after you get all your receipts in here, you can attach them to transactions, you can create new transactions. This makes it much smoother for a lot of our customers. And I imagine once you tag something, you know, feed this month, it should learn that, right? And actually auto tag? Exactly. So we have functionality that will split out and suggest receipt line items for you in our ledger as well. We also have a function called automations. So, for example, this Starbucks expense, I could scroll down and categorize it as a personal expense. Okay. But also click this and click this tag and automate button. Yep. And essentially the benefit of that is if I have recurring expenses or stuff that's always coming through on my ledger. Yep. I can create an automation and speed it up. So a lot of people will buy feed from the same store. Yep. They'll have insurance, and this will essentially help you stay on top of your books as you go. Great. Did I see a tab for taxes in there? Yeah, so we have essentially our export tab. So at the end of the year, you can export all your financial documents. So your profit loss, your balance sheet. We'll also have your tax prep documents, so your Schedule F and Schedule C, your 1099. Wow. And then essentially everything else you might want or need as well in here. We also do partner with an organization called Uprise to offer tax advisory services if that's what customers want or need as well. Okay. Well, I'm sure you could use them. If you're doing your own taxes, this will help, or your CPA probably likes it. Totally. You have good reports that you can get them and good data. Good data in, good data out, right? Definitely. Yep. And then last thing here, Ambrook also has bills and invoices. So a lot of producers will want to send invoices to customers. So you can go over to this invoices page, bill it to a specific customer. So I have my name here. I click that. We also have native inventory in Ambrook. So people can track their herd or the amount of inventory they have on hand. And the benefit of that is that you can actually reference the inventory you have. So if I have cows set up as an inventory item you essentially just click it right there and invoice it to a specific customer Perfect So we on an iPad now but you said you could do it from your phone Exactly. Does it have to be Apple or can you go Android? Yeah, you can work on any phone, so Apple or Android. You can go to ambrook.com and just use this on your laptop or use it on your iPad. A lot of customers find the mobile app really helpful, especially when they're out in the field. They'll pop on Ambrook, knock out some tagging, and just be good to go. And the last thing I'll kind of overview is Ambrook Wallet. So a lot of customers will send invoices or pay bills, but don't want to wait the 7 to 10 days for check or cash to get your account. So we launched Ambrook Wallet, which is a business cash account that's included with subscriptions. So essentially the benefit of this is if you're sending an invoice and you want to get paid right away and have access to that money right away, you can essentially have people pay you in the wallet. So if I go back to my invoice here, and if I go to this fake invoice, see these different payment options here. So if people wanted to pay, if customers wanted to pay me with ACH or credit card, they could pay me directly into wallet and speed up a lot of that bookkeeping and money movement as well. That seems really nice. Well, thanks for showing us this. It's clear there's a lot more than what we just went over, so I'd encourage anyone to book a demo. Go on their website, check it out, ambrook.com. That's pretty neat. I think it's really good for farmers and ranchers. Well, it's planting season for some, and others have corn popping up in rows. So I think it's time to start thinking about harvest. Right. We've got to think about harvest and what's going to go in front of that combine. You should start thinking about a Maya cornhead. Why, Tanner? Because Maya cornheads are f***ing awesome. You can't say that. I can say that. They have a three-year unlimited acre warranty. They've got all the bells and whistles. If you ever have downed corn, they run flatter, they run slower. They're just going to get that corn into the combine so it can do its job.
