Hey Bible readers! I'm Ms. Emily and this is the Bible Recap. For Kids! Today's Bible Purge! In Psalm 28.9, David prays, Save your people! Bless Israel! Your special possession! Lead them like a shepherd and carry them in your arms forever. The Psalms we read today fit David's current situation, running away from someone who's trying to hurt him and waiting on God to deliver him. In these Psalms, we see that David remembers who God is and how good he's been to him. David cries out to God about people who lie, boast, and ignore the poor and he asks God to bring justice. These Psalms teach us that when we're angry, scared, or feeling forgotten, we have to put our trust in God. We'll only find our peace and hope in him. God is our good shepherd and we are his sheep. Sheep face dangers like wolves and thieves and their shepherd protects them. But sheep's worst enemies are themselves. They can't see well, they forget really quickly, and they tend to run away. You know what? That kind of sounds like us, right? When our good shepherd takes care of us, he protects us not only from danger, but from ourselves. He's where the joy is.
