Welcome to Cake Bites, where we go rapid fire with this week's Rule Breaker. Fast questions, real answers, zero corporate polish. I'm your host, Elizabeth Bieniek. Let's dig in. We're here with Don Everly for Cake Bites. Don, are you ready to jump in? Let's do this. All right. What is a common myth you would like to debunk or one thing you wish everyone understood about your line of work? That's a good question. So I think the common myth that I'd like to debunk about chiropractic is that chiropractors put bones back in place. I'm not sure where that came from. That was way before my time when that was a thing. And it's not what we do. We adjust. We move bones. But we don't change bones. We're changing the spaces in between bones. So it's the, we don't put bones, bones don't go out of place. If they went out of place, you'd be in serious trouble. So yeah, that one is always funny. Yes. Yeah. What piece of advice would you give your younger self? Yeah. So many different things I'd probably want to, but if I had to choose one, it would be to slow down and take time with people. Don't have an expectation of perfection with people or with myself. and yeah, slow down, take it a little easier, take the edge off, yeah. What's one thing you think more people would be successful if they did? Well, of course, as a chiropractor, I'm gonna say if people got adjusted and took care of their spine, they would be more alert, they'd sleep better, they'd think more clearly, they'd move better, they'd be in less pain. Just the overall human function would be so much better if people spines were healthy Do you have a favorite quote or mantra My favorite one right now is know thyself I think the more self-awareness I have and the better I am at all the different facets of life, whether it be parenting or leading a business or being a good friend, just the more is being really self-aware. So know thyself. what do you want to be remembered for most importantly i want to be remembered for being kind to everyone and for being attentive and and people first and and i work i want to be especially what to be remembered for being a good dad and our last question because this is cake on what is your favorite kind of cake my favorite kind of cake is gluten-free cheesecake it's the best. That sounds really good right now. Any, any toppings or just plain? I'll take it anyway. I like it plain, but chocolate and blueberry or something like that, like blended together. It's great. If you haven't been over there, you got to go over there. It's very good. Dangerously good. All right. John, thank you so much for joining us for Cake Bites. Thank you. Thank you for having me.
