Summary

This Mother's Day special episode celebrates the quiet, everyday ways mothers build intangible qualities like confidence, character, faith, and courage in their children. Hosts Destiny and Daniel discuss with their mother Ildiko how small moments—prayers, encouragement, consistency, and love—create lasting legacies that shape children's futures far more than material gifts.

Insights
  • Mothers build invisible but powerful foundations through daily consistency, not grand gestures—comfort, courage, belief, and faith are constructed quietly over time
  • Children remember how they felt around their mothers (safe, loved, encouraged) far more than material possessions or major events
  • Leadership and legacy-building happen through everyday moments: bedtime prayers, family conversations, shared laughter, and repeated small acts of encouragement
  • Resilience and character are taught implicitly through how parents model responses to obstacles and challenges, not through direct instruction
  • Intergenerational faith and values flow through families when mothers intentionally pray, believe in, and encourage their children

Right now, a guide dog puppy is taking her very first steps. One day, she'll help someone with sight loss live a full and independent life. Find the crossing best. Good girl. When you sponsor a puppy with guide dogs, you're there for it all. Her wobbly walks, her first harness, the life-changing partnership. It's more than a donation. It's the start of a life-changing story. Search, sponsor a guide dog puppy, and be part of a story you'll be proud to share. Guide dogs. I feel your world changes. You can do anything. We all have a God-given destiny. Never let negative thoughts or people tell you you can't be great. Can you feel for me and wonderfully made? There's greatness inside all of us. But greatness doesn't happen. It takes boldness, courage, and leadership. Welcome to the entrepreneurial kids' leg-and-hand. It's a legacy show where we think big, big, boldly, and make amazing things happen. I'm Destiny. I'm Daniel. We challenge you to step into your future, take action, and create a legacy that lasts. Let's go! Friends, did you know that some of the most important things in life cannot be held in your hands? That's right. You can't always see them, but you can feel them. For example, comfort, like a warm hug after a long day. Courage, when someone reminds you how truly strong you are. Belief, when someone looks at you and says, I know you can do this. And faith, when someone prays with you and reminds you that God's always with you. And those things are quietly built inside a child, little by little, by a mother who keeps showing up every day. And years later, those same children often realize the mother was building fall mode and routine, meals and schedules. She was helping build the person they would one day become. Good day, magnificent legacy leaders. Welcome back to the entrepreneurial kids' legacy cell. It's your joy filled creativity loving princess friend, Destiny here. And today's episode is extra special. And I'm your bold business buddy, Daniel. And creativity co-pilot. And yes, today we're doing something special. We're having a Mother's Day round table conversation. Because May is the month of Mother's Day. And we wanted to talk about something beautiful, that things mothers build inside their children. And today we have our amazing, beautiful round table partner, Mama. Hello, precious legacy leaders. I'm Ildiko, Daniel, and Destiny's mama. And it truly means so much to spend this special time together with you today. And before we begin, I just want every mother listening to know something special. The little things you do every day matter more than you ever fully realize. Even the moments that feel ordinary can become part of your child's most treasured memory someday. Yes, and it means so much to be building this legacy together with all of you through the entrepreneurial kids' legacy cell. And the Entrepreneur Parents podcast, we are creating a beautiful community of families all over the world with our favorite friends, you guys, who are learning, growing, and building together. And what makes this journey so meaningful is not only the community we are building together, but also getting to build it hand in hand with the people we love the most, our family. Absolutely. That's right. And you know what's interesting? When people hear the word build, they often think about buildings, businesses, or invansions. But mothers are builders too. That's a great point. Yes, they are. And we truly have so many incredible mothers in the community. Mothers help build confidence when they encourage children to try again after they feel discouraged. Yes, absolutely. Mothers help build character when they teach children to tell the truth and to be kind even when it's difficult. Yes. And our mothers help build faith when they pray with their children and remind them that God is always near. Woo-hoo! And our beautiful mothers help build security through hugs, comfort, consistency, and making the home feel safe. And kisses. And kisses. That's right. And our beautiful mothers help build courage when they remind our children that they are stronger than they think. And many times, they are doing all of this quietly. When nobody is even noticing. I notice. Me too. You guys are precious. And I know our little ones out there notice too. You know, when people think about leadership, they often think about huge moments, big stages, big accomplishments, big victories. But sometimes, leadership is built more quietly than that. That's a great point, Destiny. Sometimes, it is built through everyday moments through small conversations, encouraging words, bedtime prayers, morning prayers, and simply continuing to show up with love. That's right. And very often, some of the things us children remember most are not the biggest moments at all. Sometimes, it's things like movie nights. Oh, I love our movie nights. They're so fun. Bound trips. I love events. I love jumping on a plane and traveling. Oh, that's so good. Family talks and family meetings. Yes. Laughing together in the kitchen. Building something amazing with Legos blocks or crafts. Oh, and dancing together in the living room. Yes, those are the best. The little moments repeated over time often become memories our children treasure forever. I'll never forget my special memories with my mother and the special moments we all had together. Oh, yes, I love making memories with my family. Me too. And I'm sure our children out there love making memories with their family. And those kind of memories become part of the voice children carry in their hearts forever. They so do. Hey, Mama, why don't you ask us some questions today? That sounds like a wonderful idea, Destiny. Hmm. OK, I have a question. What is something I say often? Well, probably did you pray about it first? Especially when we're worried about something. We're frustrated. We're trying to make a big decision. Oh, and one of us says, but what if everything goes wrong? That's right, because prayer reminds us that we do not have to carry every fear all by ourselves. I know something else that said. What's the lesson here? Yes, especially when something didn't go the way we hoped or when we felt frustrated, disappointed, or even discouraged. That's right, because difficult moments can still teach us something important if we are willing to learn from them. Sometimes challenges help us become wiser, more patient, more compassionate, or even stronger than we were. What? Before. That's right, Destiny. So instead of only asking, why did this happen? We get asked, what kind of this experience teach me? Yes, maybe it's teaching us patience or courage, or how to keep going even when something feels difficult. That's so good. Sometimes challenges can even help us become kinder, because we understand what it feels like to struggle. Yes, and sometimes the hard moments that feel frustrating at first can later become part of the wisdom we use to help someone else. That reminds me of a powerful word, character. That's a great one, Daniel. Can you share with our friends what that means? Character means who you are on the inside, especially when no one is watching. Yes, a strong character is one of the greatest gifts a person can build over time. Mama, what do you think children remember most from their mama? That is such a precious question. I think children remember how they felt around their mama, if they felt safe, if they feel loved, encouraged, comforted. Those feelings stay with them for a very long time, forever. I know those memories sit with me forever, just like they will for our beautiful friends out there, as well as you guys. That's true. You know, I may not remember every toy I got, but I remember our special moments together. Me too, like those movie nights, old traveling, and praying together. It's the best. Yepity deppity. Those are wonderful examples, you two, because the connected moments we repeat together as families often become the memories and values children carry into the future and eventually become part of their family's legacy. So children, I have a question for you. What is one thing you think mothers teach their children? That challenges do not mean you quit. They mean you grow. Children learn a lot by watching how their parents respond to obstacles or difficulty. Especially when moms keep going, even when they're tired. That's right. That is so good. Yes, sometimes courage does not look loud. Sometimes courage looks like continuing forward with faith one step at a time. I know moms out there are so good at that. God bless them. Oh, another important word just came to mind. Resilience. I love that word. Would you be kind enough to share what that means with our friends? Resilience means getting back up, continuing forward, and staying hopeful, even after difficult moments. Now children, what is something you hope children out there remember about their moms someday? I hope they remember that the moms love them deeply. Oh, and that she tried. And that she prayed for them. Yes, and believed in them, and cheered for them, and never stopped hoping for beautiful things in their future. Yes, the most beautiful blessings. Oh, I want to share this. The Bible says she's clothed with strength and dignity. She can laugh at the days to come. Proverbs chapter 31 verse 25. That is so beautiful, Daniel. And that may be exactly what someone needed to hear today. That means a strong mother is not only beautiful on the outside. She carries strength, wisdom, faith, and courage inside her heart too. And even during the difficult seasons, a mother can continue forward with hope, trusting that God is walking beside her every step of the way. Yes, that's so good. I have another beautiful verse. I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois. And in your mother Eunice. 2 Timothy chapter 1 verse 5. Oh, that reminds us of something beautiful. Faith, love, wisdom, and courage can gently flow through generations of mothers who choose to love, pray, lead, and believe. Oh my, is it that time? OK, friends, do you know what time it is? It's time for the legacy. Lightning Fun Backs round. Da-da-da-da-da. Da-da-da-da-da-da. Da-da-da-da. [? Music playing. ?] [? Music playing. ?] Let's make today's question all about what children remember most about their mothers. That's precious. OK, let's go ahead. What is something children usually remember more than expensive gifts? A, how loved they felt. B, the color of the carpet. C, the grocery receipt. OK, friends, run down to the show notes to see if you're right, but I think you got this one. And while you're there, leave your favorite part of today's show in the review section so we can find our next legacy later in the month. I think they know the answer because love and co-incidence and connection often become the memories children treasure forever. Yes. And now it's time for the tactical legacy challenge of the week. Challenge accepted. This one's called encourage your mom challenge. It's a special one just for Mother's Day. We thought it would be great if you could encourage your mom in a small way. You could write a note, make a drawing. You know what she likes? You could be Picasso with this, Leonardo da Vinci. I love biting her little love letter. Ooh, you could pray for her. Tell her something you appreciate or about her. And write them down so she could keep it forever. And then ask her to tell you three of her favorite things about being a mother. And then ask her to write them down. And then put them some more special so you can read them when you get older. You can even chat with your own children someday. That's beautiful, Daniel. Never underestimate how powerful encouragement can be. Even small words can make someone feel deeply loved. Yes, many great leaders fall slow in COVID from someone who believed in them. And many children became strong because someone keep reminding them they mattered. That's right. You know, even inventors and leaders throughout history often had mothers who believed in them early in life. Like Thomas Edison once spoke about how his mother encouraged him deeply when others doubted him. And sometimes that one special person choosing to believe in a child can help change the direction of their entire future. Brilliantly said, you guys. So never forget this, friends. The love you give today can shape someone's future tomorrow. Good share, mama.
