You know, we've heard the stories Luke, glowing eyes in the forest. Sure. You know, a portal opening up at the gas station. Fine. But paying $300 for a sweater? No, we don't do that. No, we don't do that. And we don't wear sweaters in the summer either. But what do you wear in the summer? I think summer always changes how we can get dressed and the things we got to wear. And you got to refresh that wardrobe. And that's why we keep coming back to Quinn's. They focus on high quality essentials that feel and look amazing. Breatheable linen, soft organic cotton. Well made basics without the luxury markup. And right now Quinn's got a full summer line. European linen pants and shirts starting at just $34. That's right. They've got all kinds of things. Mongolian cashmere, washable silk, linen, leather bags, bedding, all the good stuff without the luxury markup. Soft tees that are easy to wear and lightweight cotton sweaters that are perfect for cool summer nights. I found some amazing go to t-shirts there. They fit great. They wash great. One of them all spring and summer. Also the amazing towels. The latest purchase I had there was the Turkish ultra plush bath towels. Everyone needs to upgrade their bath towel game. And everything at Quinn's is priced 50 to 80% less than similar brands. They work directly with ethical factories. Cut out the middlements you're paying for quality and not brand markup. And guess what? Because way beyond clothes. Elevate your summer wardrobe. Go to quince.com slash blurry for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns now available in Canada too. The next creature we're about to talk about is probably the hardest to understand. It's kind of blends the reality between physical, spiritual, ethereal, whatever language you want to throw at it. Ethan's coming on the show. He saw what he claims to be a skinwalker coming at him on a dark highway. Stuff out of nightmares. He lives to tell the tale. And like you said on the episode, I mean, sometimes these stories don't go well, but Ethan's a listener of the show. Send us this message. And if you're a listener and you have a story, hit us up. And this is, you know, all you people that have been clamoring for more cryptid creature encounters, here you go. This one is, you know, reminiscent of tales we heard from John Robert Burdover on the Navajo Ranger episodes that we did with him. You know, Ethan lives right smack in the middle of Southern Ute and Navajo territory, right along the mountain range that this sort of buffers up to all of that. And he had a terrifying, terrifying encounter and he's here to share for the first time with us on blurry creatures. So he's in Wendigo's backyard pretty much. Right in his pool house. He's got a big backyard in Wendigo. Yeah. So if you're one of us, this story, and we've got hundreds of other encounters and exclusive interviews just for our members, check out www.blurrycreatures.com. Slash members, you can go there. Check out what we've got. Not only are there extra episodes for you to listen to, there is a vibrant community there of like-minded true seekers and listeners and fans of the show that you can connect with people who are having blurry get-togethers in their regions and in their cities. And this is a way to get plugged into that network and meet folks that are on the trail, Nate. So check it out. And let's get Ethan on the show to tell about this terrifying night in January of last year. People drive their cars, Luke, and I drove a lot of miles around the United States. I probably drove six to 700,000 miles around the country. Playing shows, never saw anything weird come out of the bushes, but people do and they email us and they have these stories. And one of my favorites was a Bigfoot keeping up pace with a trucker as he looked out the window going 75. Bigfoot's just running alongside of him. But welcome to the show, Ethan. You have one of these stories. It's a little different, a little scarier. But what are your thoughts on Bigfoot? You're in Bigfoot country and you emailed us a story and you saw some and we want to ask you some questions. So welcome, welcome, blurry creatures. What are your thoughts on the Big guy? Yeah, so like I told you, it's just awesome to be able to share the story and have a platform where we can do this. So Bigfoot, I personally have never seen the Big guy, as Luke calls it. Yeah, I've never seen him. I've heard all the stories. I got hooked on your guys's podcast. Ironically on a Colorado road trip with my wife camping in the various parts of the mountains with the woods. And it probably wasn't the smartest thing. We listened to specifically that one to go episode with the two police officers. Bro, that's the one to do if you're going camping. I know, right? Reminds me, dude, I was in high school or college, I think college when the Blair Witch project came out. Remember that? You guys, remember this one? And they kind of made it feel like it didn't know if it was real or if it was a movie. And they filmed it that way. I literally watched it like the day before we went camping. And it's a horrifying story, which was terrifying to go camping that way, but I was some buddies and stuff. So I started stacking rocks outside their tents because they all watched it with us, which happens in the Blair Witch project. So I can relate to that. Yeah, of course, dude, right? You're like, I think it was bucks like shout out to North cow. Doing that scaring yourself before you go spend time in the woods is one way to do it. What happened was I stumbled on your guys's podcast through the undershamed crew. They're two podcasts because I listened to their stuff. So I heard you guys talking about it. I was intrigued of some of the stuff you're talking. Why don't we talk about this as Christians? And so I stumbled into the Wendigo podcast and then the John Dover podcast of Bigfoot in this area and skin walkers. And we just went down a rabbit hole and started binge listening for like five days as we're driving. And so the running joke was we're just going to see some nuts and just die out here in the woods. With that, I haven't actually seen Bigfoot. My thoughts are there are so many opinions and so many stories and so many different things that people have seen. It's hard for me to even pin down what Bigfoot is other than the consistent big, hairy, monstrous looking creature. Because some of them you got the telepathic stories and then you got stories about I shot a Bigfoot in the woods and the government took the photo of it and said it was a bear. The furthest dive in the area, eeriness of the woods. Two occasions I've been in the woods and it felt like that was being watched. But I didn't actually ever see anything. One time in Springfield, Missouri, when I was down in college and then another time a few years ago here, I went hiking with my son up in the mountains here to a little place called Potato Lake in North Durango. And it was early and I was just walking and I just had for about 10 minutes this feeling of something was watching me. It's just that sixth sense that everybody talks about. And so my son, he's only two and we're walking. It's a good 30 minute hike, which isn't a long time in the grand scheme of hikes. But when you got a two year old and that's about it and nobody else on trail, you're hugging tight and real like, all right, whatever we're about to do, it's going to happen. So nothing happened. But yeah, I've never seen the guy. But I know what I do know is there's something out there. There has to be something out there. There's too many stories and too many encounters and too many just honestly, I believe it's proof out there that there's something out there. It's just hard to pin down if it's a spiritual thing only or if it's flesh and blood or if it's always both or if there's all kinds of them throughout the world. Yeah. What I do know is there's definitely something out there pulling with us. You know, you guys were talking about dirty jobs before the like Mike Row talking about dirty jobs and maybe Bigfoot's just the janitor of the woods and he's just he's not having a good day because he's out there. He's got to take care and clean of everything. You know, it's interesting though. Like I've had that feeling too, Ethan, like way back when in my early 20s, I was working on a summer camp in Northern California and what did happen with us? It wasn't a big foot. It was a mountain lion. The scariest thing about that is you kind of get that sense of being watched, but you don't see anything. Right. And then you do, which is for us, it was like all of a sudden there was a big cat 100 yards down the trail. I was it is no thanks. My favorite meme was the guy made a video like that and then he's like a cougar's watching me and attack me turns around and it's like his buddy dressed as an old woman going coming at him. And that's not what we're here today. You know, that was nothing. It's not the kind of story we're looking for. Yeah. No, you've got to you've got to you know, you don't have a big foot encounter, but you have something. It's not the worst than the worst. Something else. But can you start like you start at the beginning for us and like, you know, how long ago was this? And then you live out in your Durango in smoke down Bayfield, Colorado. And it's on the edge of the same one mountains. Can you kind of talk about when this was and kind of explain what this, what this area is like folks that haven't been out that way, you know, how remote is it? What is it like, et cetera? Yeah, of course. So this area and like I said at the beginning, I'm still a student of this area. I've lived here about five years. My wife was born and raised here. So it's a very different culture than where I grew up from back in Kansas City. Man, the stories in Kansas City, they're all just like school stories. And then you get out here and the culture out here is extremely tribal. You've got the Southern youth. You have the Navajo. I work with a Navajo team. I lead that team and they're very, very in this, they're very spiritual people, which is interesting because when I told them, I started to tell them about this story and they were like, no, no, no, I don't, I don't want to talk about. So, and I knew that, I knew that was some of them are open to talk about and some of them aren't. So I learned a little bit about my crew of kind of where they're at in the spiritual security when it comes to what I saw. But this area is very heavy in the tribal culture. It's very heavy in a Western culture. Yeah, we're right on the edge of the San Juan Mountains. And I know there's stories around here of people seeing things. I go to a men's breakfast every Friday and I told them my story and they're like, yeah, that's happened to me. And I'm like, what? You've never told me this. So it's not unheard of for just to see stuff around here. So, yeah, I mean, where I'm at, I'm about 20 minutes outside of Durango, Colorado. Durango is the big city in the Southwest area. And by big, it's not big. We're 10 to 20,000 max and then Bayfield, Dwindles off. So where I come from, that's small. I come from an actual Kansas City suburban life. So coming here was a very much culture shock. Yeah, so on the edge of the San Juan Mountains, Bayfield, 20 minutes outside, it's very rural. This area is very where one stoplight town. There's not a lot happening in Bayfield. We're still working to get an actual grocery store. We have a little one. Yeah. But it's very it's a very remote feel. And then the biggest subdivision just up north of here. I mean, the houses are so spread apart and it goes way up into the trees and to all that. And it just feels like you're driving through this beautiful scenery wherever you go. So at night, you kind of get the eerie feel of all the mountains, the darkness and everything. And that's what I drive every day. OK, so you drive down the highway to work. So when does this story take place? How many years a year ago, two years ago? January 2025. So we're looking about a year and it's a year and some change. OK, so this is a little more than a year ago. So take us back to that day and walk us through the beginning. That day, I work for a beverage industry and we distribute lots of things. But it was it was it's not a taxing day. My days kind of depend on the load. So this day wasn't was it too bad? I was going home about nine o'clock at night, as usual. So one sixties, the highway that I use from Durango to Bayfield. And that highway, man, if you just Google that highway, it is notorious for wildlife. It's got tons of people hitting deer, hitting milk, hitting various animals. It's a very heavily heavy wildlife road. And there's many stretches of that road that have the wildlife fencing on both sides. Whether it does much, I don't know. But yeah, but yeah, so it's that kind of road. And I do that every day and it's about 20 minutes. So this time it felt different. It was it and I don't it was just weird. And it wasn't it wasn't just the whole drive. It was like a switch was turned on only it was opposite. Instead of a light feeling that I normally have when I'm driving home, it just it turns to just dark, eerie kind of a cause effect feeling. Thanks for tuning in to Blurry Creatures.
