Episode features two Bigfoot encounter accounts: Nadelle's recent experience at a Washington State Airbnb in December where she heard a growl and witnessed a large bipedal creature, and filmmaker Terry Weaver discussing his film 'The Beast of Trinity Texas' and how interviewing eyewitnesses transformed him from skeptic to believer in the creature's existence.
Insights
- Eyewitness credibility and physiological reactions during interviews are more convincing than physical evidence in establishing Bigfoot phenomenon legitimacy
- Encounters produce consistent psychological effects including unnatural fear, nausea, and infrasound-like sensations that distinguish them from normal animal encounters
- Filmmakers and documentarians are becoming primary collectors of Bigfoot accounts, with eyewitnesses more willing to share with media professionals than law enforcement
- Social stigma remains the primary barrier to public disclosure of encounters, even among credible witnesses in professional positions
- Geographic clustering of sightings in specific regions (Trinity County Texas, Washington State) suggests territorial patterns worth investigating
Trends
Shift from skepticism to open-minded investigation among filmmakers and content creators documenting cryptid phenomenaIncreased willingness of law enforcement and government officials to acknowledge and support Bigfoot research projectsGrowing use of professional video documentation to capture eyewitness accounts with physiological evidence of authenticityEmergence of Bigfoot-related content as commercially viable entertainment across streaming platformsPattern of witnesses withdrawing consent for public disclosure after initial interviews, indicating persistent social fearIntegration of cryptid narratives into traditional mystery and thriller storytelling formats for mainstream audiencesConvergence of Bigfoot sightings with other cryptid reports (canine creatures, extinct species) suggesting broader unknown fauna phenomenon

Quotes
"I know what a bear looks like, and there is no way on this planet that what I saw were bears."
Nadelle•Early in encounter account
"The fear that I felt that night was beyond that just so very different, a fear I've never felt before. I mean, I've had a gun held to my head before I've been robbed and I know that kind of fear and the fear that I felt that night was beyond that."
Nadelle•Describing psychological impact
"I believe these people. I believe that they believe what they're telling me. Now, could I make a case personally? No, because I only have the secondhand information. but I believe they believe what they saw and I believe they're credible people."
Terry Weaver•On eyewitness credibility
"I'm definitely, I wish that I had more evidence, but after watching these interviews, it's obvious that there's something out there."
Terry Weaver•Reflecting on interview impact
"to think that we're the only thing in the universe that exists or that's important, I think, is arrogant."
Terry Weaver•On existence of unknown creatures

it looked like somebody was bent over and had their head in the window of the deer blind and it either heard me or smelled me and he pulled his head out of the tent and stood straight up and that that shocked me they don't make people that that big The way it moved, almost as if it was gliding across the beach. I've never seen anything move like that in my life. They were screaming at each other in gibberish. It sounded like a language and they were chuntering away back and forwards, back and forwards, back and forwards. I know what a bear looks like, and there is no way on this planet that what I saw were bears. 911, what are you reporting? Jesus Christ, you better care. See ya. Hello? Get somebody out here. What's going on now, sir? That son of a bitch is about six foot nine. I don't know. Do you see a bell, sir? Yes, I'm looking right at him. Uh-oh. This is Watsi from Orange County, California. And when I'm not being paced out of the Cleveland National Forest, I'm listening to Wes Germer and Sasquatch Chronicles. Welcome to the show, everyone. Thanks for being here. Tonight, we'll be chatting with Nadelle. And Nadelle had an encounter in Washington State. This is pretty recent. we're going back to about the 18th of December and she was at an Airbnb when she encountered this thing I'll kind of let her go into it and then we'll wrap up with Terry Weaver he's a filmmaker and executive producer of the Beast of Trinity Texas and it's available now on Prime and it's kind of a murder mystery I haven't watched it yet I've actually gone through the trailer and I've spoken with Terry and I'm definitely going to check it out. But it's called The Beast of Trinity, Texas. And it's kind of interesting to talk to Terry because he goes from not believing in Bigfoot to actually believing that the creature is out there, especially after talking to eyewitnesses. If you've had an encounter and you'd like to be on the show, shoot me an email. My email address is Wes at SasquatchChronicles.com and if you get a chance to check out SasquatchChronicles.com you can become a member and get additional shows. Let's jump into it tonight. I want to welcome Nadel to the show. Nadel, thanks for coming on. Thanks Wes for having me, for listening to my story and hearing me talk. Yeah, and you had this very recent encounter going back about the middle of December. Prior to you having this incident happen to you, what was kind of your take on Bigfoot? I was extremely interested. I can't really say if I believed in it or not. I had kind of gathered a couple of photos over the years from hikes that I had been on from Texas and Washington of prints. So I think I've only had two. And I just, I don't know if I ever wanted to have an experience, but I was open to the idea of it. So very intriguing, listened to your show a lot, watched a lot of documentaries, everything in between. I still Honestly, I wouldn't even know if I was a believer or not, but definitely curious and interested about it, if there was anything out there. Well, if you would, would you start from the very beginning? Take me back to the middle of December. What were you doing and what happened? I was on a trip that I was just taking. I took a week off from work just to sort of relax and unwind. And I had on the 16th left Friday Harbor, went to Port Townsend, spent the day there and got to Port Angeles early afternoon. The 17th kind of, you know, ventured out. I didn't do any hiking or light hiking, kind of just explore the town really. The day of the 18th, I did go do a couple of things, got back to my Airbnb, which was, I believe, probably like 15 minutes outside of town. And I had drank a little bit of wine, went in the hot tub. And this is around three o'clock in the afternoon, was kind of packing all my things, getting ready because the next day I was going to leave to go towards Bellevue. and ordered some takeout and kind of just got comfortable and relaxed. It was my last night there. I think I started kind of falling asleep around 10 something. I was watching a documentary. I'd say maybe 11 is when I completely just fell asleep. And I woke up to sort of what I was telling you. And when an earthquake hits, especially, I mean, this has happened twice to me. When I'm sleeping and an earthquake hits, like a light one, you kind of feel like the sway of your bed or some sort of movement. And I'm a pretty light sleeper, always have been. And I have kids. So, I mean, maybe that adds to it. I'm not really sure. I felt the bed sway. so I kind of just got up and the first thought I remember having is oh is this an earthquake because they kind of freak me out coming from Texas I'm not really used to them and while that happened while I was waking up because of that movement I heard the ceiling creak and this Airbnb I would say is about 40 feet long and maybe about 8 to 10 feet wide and the ceiling, they have wood beams, very cute place, but it's just like a little, kind of like a little trailer. And I heard the creaking of the wood in the ceiling, a big boom sound that came towards the restroom, which is on the opposite side of the trailer. And I don't know how to explain. it wasn't a roar it was more of um like a growl and it's it's uh I feel like my brain is still trying to rationalize and I can't really grasp like how to explain what like how all this happens it just happened so fast so fast where as soon as all that happened I kind of like prop myself up onto my right elbow. I'm kind of like, you know, what is that? Like, did I hear that correctly? Did I hear a growl? Because I definitely know I heard a big boom because the wood creaked in the ceiling and I was just like, what? And that night, the weather was a little windy earlier in the evening. That's why I had left outside. I was in the hot tub and I got out because it was starting you get the rain was getting a little heavier and um there's wood chips on the floor i'm just explaining a little bit of the background where the hot tub is there's wood chips on the floor um there's a wooden fence completely all the way around this airbnb i'd say 30 feet you know out it's like circular all the way around it and there's a fence and it kind of like is jagged It kind of follows the land. So it's not like a straight fence. It's just over like humps and rocks and, you know, goes all the way around the property. Anyways, so while I'm, that kind of comes in later. I prop myself up on my elbow and there's French doors to the right of the bed. And the curtain, if you pull too much to one side of the curtain, it will leave like a gaping hole and maybe like two to three inches. And I had pulled it earlier that day more to the left. So when I got up on my elbow to look over, and again, this is all happening within seconds. So sway of the bed, creaking of the ceiling, that big boom, and a growl. I look at my phone, put it down briefly, and it was like three something in the morning. peek my head, like tilt my head back to look out the curtain, to look outside. And there's these lights that are hanging in the background or outside in the backyard. And it's pretty lit up out there. You can see everything. And when I peek out the window, I see something just move so fast from left to right. And it was like a big brown blur. And the reason why I brought up the wood chips in the fence is because it was darker than those colors. It had been raining. So, you know, the wood chips in the fence kind of turned like a darker orange color, coppery almost. And it was definitely a darker brown, but it just moved so fast. all of a sudden, I don't know if it was the fear of seeing that and not really understanding what was happening or what that was. And while that happened, I also heard four like heavy steps, like hollow, like just boom, boom, boom, boom, and quiet. And for some reason, I don't know what it is, this fear, I don't even know if it's, I mean, yes, definitely fear, but it was deeper than that, just came over me where I just started sinking back into the bed. And I feel so silly for saying that because I typically am not that kind of person to hide under my covers. I will get up and kind of just be like, what the heck's happening? You know, like what's going on and kind of look and figure things out and just whatever had hit me, I felt nauseous, super sick. I felt like I shouldn't have been there. All of this just hit me so hard. I kind of felt, I think what I explained it as, the feeling was that I knew that we, like us, me, right in that moment was so small compared to whatever was out there. And I don't even know if it was, you know, a Bigfoot. I like the details I'm about to give you, you know, like what happened afterwards makes me feel like it was or could have been. Definitely not a human with how fast that was. But it was just the goosebumps hit me. Nausea. I just felt this horrifying fear like I couldn't catch my breath. I didn't want to move. and I stayed like that till the sunlight came out and or like it was bright enough where I was like kind of peeking through my covers and was like okay I can breathe because it gets hot under there it just mortified me I'd never felt that sort of fear I mean I've had a gun held to my head before I've been robbed and I know that kind of fear and the fear that I felt that night was beyond that just so very different, a fear I've never felt before. You know, when these creatures are around, eyewitnesses will often say, it's that unnatural fear that just kind of takes over. It's not normal. And I know on last night's show, John on the member show, he was talking about that. And I want to get into what you actually saw, but did it stop after a while? I mean, did the fear kind of subside and did it quiet down? And I know that was the odd part because part of me is, I mean, I'm trying to rationalize while all of this is happening. And when I was under the covers, I was just like, was that a person? Was that a bear? Maybe it was a moose. I don't know. Maybe a bear fell out of the tree because it was eating something or chasing something and made that big noise. But no, it just got very quiet and I just heard raining and I just kind of stayed like that. I was just too deathly afraid to even leave my covers till, you know, it was like I felt safe enough to, which was about, I think, six o'clock in the morning where it was still a little dark outside. But I was able to sort of, you know, move around and kind of look outside and I didn't see anything. I mean I've thought of everything you could think of like started just logically my brain was like you dreaming or you not dreaming like no all of this was so like it was just I was moving around you know like on my elbow and trying to look out so I mean I was trying to rationalize it you know I it was so bizarre to explain and I think the fear is what makes it so real was in that movement from left to right, whatever that it was too fast. It was too fast. And, um, it was not an animal on four. It was on two. And I thought, you know, maybe it was a bear. Maybe it was a bear chasing an animal. I didn't hear any noise. I didn't hear other than the footprints and then the quiet, you know, or like the stomping and the roar. I keep calling it a roar, but it wasn't a roar. It was like a low grout. Sounds silly for me to say, but this is like after thought, like maybe it was chasing something or whatever it was and ran into the wall of the Airbnb. It was just like, oh, you know, like it was just this low grumble like this. But it was so deep that it felt like when a cat, when you're petting a cat and it's really enjoying it and it's purr becomes really deep and you feel it on you or in you. It feels like that. It just felt instantaneously all of this stuff is happening. And when I heard that noise, that's what I felt and kind of like woke me up more. where I was just like, what's going on? And that's why I got onto my elbow. Super intense. Yeah, sounds like it. And I'm assuming you wouldn't get up right at that moment. But at any point, did you take a look around that Airbnb to see if there was any damage or anything? God, okay. Again, you know, I'm so silly because everyone or like the couple of people that I've asked had asked me that because they know, you know, that I've watched documentaries and curious about all of this, excuse me. But I didn't. I just, I didn't want to go outside when I woke up, not woke up, but like when I finally came out of the covers and was, you know, kind of moving around. I was looking out the windows, but I didn't go outside. I didn't go onto the deck. I didn't look by the hot, I didn't do any of that. And I feel terrible about it because I, you know, I feel like anytime I've ever seen any of these documentaries or heard any of your shows, anybody would do all of the same things. We look, you know, we kind of like look around and see if there's any prints or any evidence, you know, to back up what we're saying. And there was it felt wrong. All of us. All of it felt wrong. All of it. It just I didn't want to be there. I had I was packing the night before. So I was literally gathering everything that I had left over that I had to pack and just wanted to get out of there. I left early. I think I left around like nine and which that was only like two hours, you know, three hours of me, you know, getting up and doing that where I finally felt comfortable. But I did reach out to the Airbnb owner, which I was nervous too, because I didn't want to sound silly. And I just told her, I asked in a message if they ever had anybody talk about Sasquatch or Bigfoot experience And she was like no even though we in a area where this happens often we haven ourselves But there possibilities And I told her that I may have if she could possibly look. But again, you know, some people aren't believers and don't know what to look for. I mean, do I really know what to look for? I mean, we don't even think that we're going to have these experiences. And what am I looking for? You know, like I, all of this happened so fast. I just like, I think the idea, I wouldn't want to also try to look and make something out of nothing, but I would have at least tried to look on the walls to see if anything was like bashed in or, you know, the, the noise I heard, the footprints to kind of look in the wood chips to see if there was any indentions. I mean, anything, but I didn't. And I feel terrible about that. because I just felt like my fear took over and I was just like, I'm out of here. Like, I don't even want to look. And she said she did. She said she didn't find anything. She didn't see anything. But, you know, deep down, it's not like me doing it. So I'm just like, that's not good enough. So now that's one of the things I think about. I'm like, oh, I should have looked. I should have went outside myself. But I was so afraid still and trying to grasp everything that had happened. Yeah, I don't feel too bad. Most don't get up and look despite what they'll tell you to your face. Most people won't. And I've been right there with you. I'd have been like, let's get our stuff and let's get the hell out of here. This isn't the documentary channel. And I know when something like this happens to you, it affects you. And everyone actually thought about going back. I don't know. I feel like maybe in the future, if I kind of like relaxed about it and. And just, I, it's kind of hard right now because before I watched, you know, some of those to go to bed, like documentaries or videos or different things, you know, listen to those throughout the day sometimes. And, or, you know, someone bring up a story or I'm like looking at, you know, listening to like cryptid stuff. And now I'm like, don't want to hear it. Don't want to talk about it. Don't want to, I don't want to think about it. It's been hard to sleep. and I don't really know if it's the fear, like when I wake up randomly or if it's like, I mean, I guess it has to kind of be like replaying in my head over and over because I just can't grasp it. My brain can't rationalize, you know, like was this, like how did this happen? Why didn't you go out there? Like what was the noise? Like was it something? Because like small details, whenever I was kind of replaying and rehashing everything in my mind, what I saw run by had to have been anywhere between six to seven feet. I'm relatively short. I'm 5'1", 5'2". And the deck outside the little tiny porch down to the hot tub is about three, three and a half feet off the ground. The bed for me, I kind of had to tippy toe onto it. It It wasn't just a bed I can plop onto. It was relatively tall. And so that's another six and a half feet. And what I remember is when I leaned down to look in that crack of the, like the curtain, I looked up, like my eyes shifted up to whatever ran by. So that right there already put me in that range. And I have thought, was it an elk? you know it wasn't with it was definitely on two likes and i feel like it would have moseyed around kind of like you know i don't even know what sounds they make or a moose or whatever um i thought of a bear again with wasn't no and there's not enough room for a bear to run through there because of how small it was around the airbnb and there was no open entrances other than the main one and you know I thought maybe there was uh you know like I said at the beginning a bear that had food and dropped it onto the roof and you know it came down to get it and but there's no trees all the trees are on the outside of the perimeter like the fence perimeter and that's about 30 to 40 feet out so I I've thought of every animal I could think of that could have been in that area where I was and just it's not adding up. None of it's adding up. And the heaviness of the footsteps and the growl, I don't know. I just I think I'm having a really hard time grasping something that I can't understand because it's just so out of our realm, you know, where I'm just like, could this really like you hear all these things all the time and then it happens to you and you're just like, no, no. And you try to figure it out in your brain. It was so fast. I think when all of it hit together, I mean, this was within seconds. It hasn't been less than 20 seconds, all of this happening. And as soon as I peeked out the window and saw it run from left to right, and I felt like it's the fight or flight or freeze. and I felt like I just melted into that bed where I was just like, what the hell is out there? Like, what is that? Well, what was that? Especially with how big it was. And it was wide. It was big. It was just like this big, massive brown blur with the steps. And I just, there was a window. I mean, I could send you the photos of this Airbnb so you can kind of like... grasp idea of like how what I'm working with here but there was a window uh laying on the bed I reached my hand up I can't touch the sill of it um so I'm saying I'm guessing that's like my arm is two foot and a half maybe like three three and a half feet up and I just had like this thought in my head like oh my gosh what if it's looking through the window or you know kind of like circling the Airbnb that's what kept me up I wasn't happening no I'm sure. But I was nervous. So just in the nausea, it was terrible. It didn't go away till I was like ready, like to get out of my covers. I was like salivating and felt like throwing up. I just felt so sick to my stomach. And, you know, I have heard of what is some some people kind of described it as. What is it like a energy that they think Sasquatch gives off? I think you're describing infrasound. Yeah. Like for a split second, you know, like I. I don't know what that feels like, but, you know, thinking of the stories, I was just like. I wonder if that hit me. Like, I wonder if that was something I was going through. But I mean, realistically, I just think that it was my fear just completely absolved me. Like I couldn't, nothing. I was just useless laying there. But the nausea and I didn't smell anything. I didn't hear anything else. I didn't peek out that window again. In fact, I was so afraid I wanted to pull it more towards my side. but I was just too afraid. I couldn't do anything. It was terrible. I couldn't call. I was too afraid to call anybody to talk to anybody. Nothing. I just did not want to move. Yeah, I completely get where you're coming from and how you feel. And I don't know if they have infrasound or not. What I experienced was very similar. the growl is something that will shake you up and anyone that hears it and says it doesn't bother them they're probably lying to you because the growl is somewhere between and it wasn't loud it's not like it was a loud growl what i heard it was as you described kind of a low guttural growl i would place it somewhere between a crocodile i don't know if you've ever heard a croc growl somewhere between a croc and a demon. And it does shake you. I mean, I felt like my organs shook when it growled at me at a close range. And I felt like being hit with a bat, like a sound bat. And the unnatural fear that you experience, you know, if it would have been a normal black bear, I don't think that fear would have kicked in. I mean, don't get me wrong, a black bear will mop the floor with me, But I don't know. It's a really odd and strange fear that takes over. I have a few other questions, but, you know, based on that fear and you just you know, you're just hearing this growl as the audience might hear this without experiencing it. And that overwhelming fear that takes over. What do you think that these things are? um i don't i feel like it's i don't know something sacred you know i'm reading some of the native stories and how they feel about it i think it's something that's watched us over the years um maybe protects the forest not really sure maybe the government knows about it honestly without a doubt i feel like they do and they keep it hushed they stay away from us because They know what we're capable of. And obviously we, I mean, we're looking for them. But with an instance I had, and I'm not really sure. I think they're just this ancient being that's been here forever and just watched over everything. Just kind of slowly watched us ruin everything, I guess. Yeah, a lot of people feel the way you do. And I agree. I think that they've been here, whatever they are, they've been here for a long time. the initial noise that you heard, a lot of eyewitnesses who have these creatures around their property will say they slapped the house. Was this like a slap on that Airbnb? No. I mean, I feel like that's where I'm upset at myself because I would have been that person to go outside and bang on the wall to sort of just see, you know, like, I mean, I was by myself. So how would I have even known what it sounded like on the inside? If I was somebody else, I would have been like, I'm going to go outside and bang on the wall and you let me know, you know, if it sounds like what we heard. But I mean, I don't I would have just looked in it with how strong it was. It shook. It had to have shaken the whole Airbnb because it swayed my bed. And that's what woke me up. And I just feel like it. I mean, either it ran into it, you know, or slapped it, you know, like hit it. And it hit it so hard. It moved everything. And I don't really know. Just like, I guess my brain started like right now, I start getting super uncomfortable because realizing that something that's strong, you know, could bear do that. Could an animal running into the wall do that? Shake the whole place. It was small enough to. So I part of my mind is like, I don't doubt it. But realistically, when I think of something wanting to do that and there's windows all the way around. So, I mean, what if the whole time it was watching, you know, kind of looking into the windows and being curious, but the side that it hit it on didn't have any windows and it's pretty high up. I'm going to show you the photos so you can see yourself like what it looked like. Yeah, you know, some eyewitnesses will describe it. I've heard it described like a slap. But the more questions you ask about this slap on the house, it ends up being more like I've heard most of the time. Eyewitnesses will say it was like a truck hit my home. And so I could see why something like that would wake you up. You know, the area where you were staying in my intro, there's a 911 call where this happened to you is very close to where that 911 call actually happened. And that area in particular, there's been a lot of sightings over the years. And it really makes me think it was probably one of these creatures just had that how hard it hit the house enough to rattle you out of bed, the low growl, and then how quickly it moved. You know, what you saw wasn't the size of King Kong and it was kind of, you know, within man range. But humans don't move that smoothly and that quick. I mean, you would have known within two seconds that was a person. And that low guttural growl. I mean, it's it doesn't sound like much when you hear someone say it, but it's it's a whole different. It's apples and oranges when you experience it. And it's a scary night. I really appreciate you taking the time to come on. no problem I'm honestly I think the day after that I was just like this is fresh this is fresh in my mind like um if I cast any doubt you know like I didn't want myself to get to myself so I wrote it out um I contacted you I didn't know if you'd contact me and I just um I I don't know I just wanted to be heard and get it out and I it's so I guess I'm one of those people um you know or could be where we listen to these stories and we're just like, oh, you know, where we kind of start breaking things down. But it's someone's experience. And never in a million years would I have thought that this would happen. You know, you're not waiting for you're not planning. At least I'm not. I know people go out there and they research and they, you know, give their whole life to this, which is beautiful, you know, in its own self. But the experience that I had, it's it has like shaken me to my core or right now I'm kind of like I don't know if I want to hear about any of this right now it's just way too fresh it's like really fresh and and I wasn't sure I really wanted to talk about it but now that I have you know I feel okay but it's still like me fighting myself of you know like it being real and I can't imagine all the hundreds of thousands of people who are feeling the same thing where they just don't ever talk about it because they're still trying to figure it out themselves. It's just, it feels bigger than us. It feels bigger than me. And it just scared the crap out of me. Yeah, it would have scared me. I'm not too big of a man to admit that it would scare me. I mean, it would have scared me too. but time helps and it does help to talk about it. If you ever need to chat, give me a call and thank you again. Next up on the show, I want to welcome Terry Weaver. he's a filmmaker and executive producer of the beast of trinity texas and i have not seen the film yet but from my understanding it's kind of a murder mystery and it's available now on amazon prime uh terry thanks for coming on hey thanks for having me wes yeah and you made this film the beast of trinity texas i'm actually going to watch it tonight on prime what made you make a film about Bigfoot? Well, a good friend of mine who turned out to be our best boy told me of an encounter that he had when he was working at a church camp. And we took a trip to Mountain View, Arkansas, and on our way through the Boggy Creek area, the Falk, Arkansas area, he started telling me about the legend of Boggy Creek. And he was so adamant about his telling of not only his personal story, but of the Bigfoot that's been seen in Falk and all the accounts. At first, I thought he was crazy. I thought, okay, is this guy, is he nuts? Because he's very convincing. But he just kept after it. And we kept on going back to Mountain View, Arkansas, driving through Falk. We stopped at the Monster Mart. And I've always been a murder mystery person. I've written a series of novels, and that's my favorite genre. I love the murder mystery genre. So a good friend of mine who finished up film school, he told me that he wanted to make a movie. So we decided we're going to do it. And kind of that's that. We decided we're going to do a murder mystery. And it's going to have Bigfoot in it. That's kind of how the recipe formed. Yeah. What kind of were your thoughts about Sasquatch prior to this whole situation of making this film So my thoughts on Bigfoot prior to this movie were I didn believe in Bigfoot It was just kind of a fairy tale. And, you know, maybe that's, you know, naive or ignorance. I don't know what that is, but those were my thoughts. And like I said, that reaction to my friend's story, it was like, is this guy crazy? Does he really believe this? He's telling me he had a firsthand account. Yeah. So there it is. Yeah. And I'm kind of curious on what your thoughts are now after making this film. But for the audience, would you kind of give an overview of the movie The Beast of Trinity, Texas? Yeah. So it is a traditional detective genre movie, small town, Texas. We actually filmed in Trinity, Texas, and I can kind of elaborate on how this story came about because it's a fascinating tell. But small town sheriff, he's battling with being a sheriff for a long time. He served in the military and he's just kind of coasting things out into retirement. And then there's a murder in the small town. And there's an investigation that takes place and a person shows up on scene from the federal government and they start to investigate and they start to say, well, there's sightings of a beast here. And of course, he doesn't believe it. So he starts his own investigation. And as he's wrestling through these demons that he has, he uncovers more and more evidence to the point where it's undeniable that there is something out there haunting this small town of Trinity. and of course he comes face to face with with this beast and uh it's it's a great mystery mysteries are like a puzzle and so the big reveals come toward the end but we had such a fun time making it but i think the the neat story is how we got to trinity and what's happened since we made the movie um we started scouting locations for our film back in december of 23 and we ran into a lady. Her name's Monica. We were told she had a firsthand account. Well, I began asking her about this and I could tell right away that she was having a physiological reaction when she was talking about her encounter with Bigfoot. So I said, stop right there. Would you mind if we brought out a professional camera crew and did a professional interview with you so we could capture this the first time you tell it? She agreed to it. So we got our crew together, went up there and we captured that interview that was very early before we decided on the location just turns out that there's a sighting right there in trinity county in the town of cheetah this interview is available on our on our youtube channel and it's fascinating i mean when she starts to talk about the bigfoot she it you can see the trepidation in her uh her skin gets clammy and she warns the interviewer, which was not me, that people should not be going out looking for Bigfoot because it's a scary thing. They don't want to find Bigfoot. When she saw Bigfoot, she was terrified. And this lady is such a sweet lady and she was super helpful in the film process. She became a good friend and she wasn't out to get famous or anything like that. In fact, she owns a secondhand store and she gives a lot of things away to people who are in need. So, you know, I kind of doubt the people that are out for fame telling their story to get popular. But what I've realized is that's not usually the case. People that have these encounters, they're not out to get famous. And most of them don't want to tell their story because they're afraid of what people will think. Yeah, it's a lot harder to get people to come forward than I think the general public or even my listeners realize. Going back to that lady you interviewed, what did she tell you? Yeah, so she was actually out. She was out. This is an incredible story. She was out looking for arrowheads. There was a big lake that covered much of Trinity County, but a lot of it dried up and people know that there's locations where you can go out and scout for arrowheads these are um actual arrowheads that are kind of buried in the in the earth and she's she's she brought out a tray of them in this interview so it's a very legit story and uh she starts handing them to the person that's interviewing her and she said yes i was looking for these arrowheads and she said that she was walking along a an area by a power line and she saw something chasing a rabbit and i thought what that's it's very strange and she you know she kind of focused in and it was a ways off and when she realized what this thing was and how big it was she said she just froze up and she was hoping in the instant you know during that time that that uh this thing wouldn't spot her but apparently it was chasing a rabbit. And finally, it ran off into the woods. Well, here's what's interesting. Let me kind of elaborate on this story. So we met this person. We actually filmed near her store. Very credible, very good person. She helped us with some big things in the film, props and all kinds of stuff. Well, we meet the sheriff of Trinity County. His name's Woody. And we basically set up a meeting, me and my partner to go in and talk to the sheriff to get his support this happened early on march of 24 we go into the sheriff's office and he's really paying us no attention uh he's like you know what do these guys want these hollywood guys and uh we finally sit down with him it took a couple months to get the meeting because he's a busy guy um and he says well tell me about this story so we start unfolding the story it's about a sheriff he wants to know who's going to be playing him that's how referred to the role and so we tell him a little bit about it and you know he's not really interested but then we tell him well there's a beast in the movie and he kind of perks up and he says really tell me tell me about that and i said well it's a it's a bigfoot and he starts signaling to me and my partner to go back and look on a couch that's in his office so my partner gets up and he goes back and he opens this box and there's a bigfoot costume on his couch while we're presenting our project to him i mean what are the odds of that so we're like wow okay after that after he knew that we're gonna have bigfoot in our movie he was totally supportive he got to know us a little bit but he uh he arranged for us to you know use the official uniforms the badges His captain got us hooked up with a local dealership who got us the trucks that they use. They hooked us up with their decal person so we could order decals. I mean, these guys were incredible. But Bigfoot got us in the door. Now, the story with that costume that he had is this guy's very intelligent. And to get people's attention, he uses Facebook a lot. I mean, he has like, I don't know, 100,000 followers on Facebook. and he uses Facebook for public service announcements. And so he said, yeah, I'm planning on spoofing the town. We're going to use a Bigfoot costume. He kind of laid out what was going to happen. And I ended up seeing this video months later after our meeting. And basically, he's doing a PSA in front of the camera. And behind him, Bigfoot stands up and exits frame on camera. well he just let it play out and used it to get attention to make whatever announcement that he wanted to make to his county and that video went viral and months later i saw it popping up on the bigfoot sites and you know there's a beast in trinity county and it's it's very uh that that was a spoof um well check the story actually gets better we go out we make our movie we spend hundreds of thousands of dollars making this movie. We have a premiere. The sheriff comes to our premiere, loves the movie, get pictures together. He's a good friend now. A couple months after our movie premiere, he calls me up and he says, Terry, where did you say that sighting was where Monica saw the Bigfoot? I told him she did Texas. And he says, I've got a deer laced down there. My son saw something in the woods while he was hunting. This was right when hunting season opened. It was a legit story. He said that he went down there and from his blind, he saw this beast in Cheetah, Texas at his deer lease. This is crazy. There's no reason for him to call me personally and tell me a story like this. But I believe that he saw the same beast that monica encountered down there in cheetah texas there's other stories that i could tell you very specific stories that came from people in political office like a commissioner out there and in trinity county but it's it's it's pretty interesting that we chose this location to film our movie the beast of trinity texas and we're getting these firsthand accounts that that have happened out there so yeah i'm real curious to hear about other people you spoke to Did the law enforcement gentleman or the other lady, did they go into a lot of detail about what they saw? Yeah, they actually describe it in detail, especially the smell. That was she kept on going back to the smell, this pungent smell. And when we asked her about the height of and I was there direct, I was there part of the crew kind of helping direct and stuff like that. She asked the interviewer, ask her the size. And she specifically said around seven feet tall. I'm trying to think of any other physical descriptors. She kept on going back to the smell. And she had smelled that smell before when she was hunting arrowheads. So she recognized it, something that she had never smelled except for when she was in that area. And it's very distinct, she says. So. And I know from talking to you off the air, you know, it really wasn't the evidence that you found that really changed your opinion. It was these eyewitnesses you spoke with. Give me another example of an eyewitness you spoke to. Yeah. So out there in the same area, there's a commissioner. So we were doing location scouting for a long time. I mean, this stuff takes a long time to, to, he had about 40 different locations for our movie. And so I would go contact prominent people in the area and ask him if they knew where we could find a location. One of them was a commissioner and he had this really cool old Jeep, an army Jeep. And he took me out on some property that he owned and we were forging through this gnarly area. and he said that he attends a church and one of the congregants at his church was in a deer blind. This happened recent to when we were up there scouting. He said that he was in this deer blind and he was physically ripped out of the deer blind and his jacket was ripped off of him by a Bigfoot. Now, the story was being told to me by a commissioner in that area of his friend. And he said that I tried to get the interview professionally done, but he said this guy's very reluctant to talk about it because it scared him to death. the Bigfoot or wherever it was didn't hurt him, but he pulled him out of the deer blind, which they're high, and it ripped his coat off and just left him in fear right there while he was hunting. And so we reached out multiple times to try to get that interview, but that was another one. And he didn't want to talk about it publicly. And quite honestly, Monica wasn't a huge fan of of putting her story on camera, but we felt like, you know, we felt like we should get it, capture that one, and we did, and she was brave enough to tell us that story. Now, since filming the movie, we've kind of become the source for Bigfoot stories, so we get messages all the time. A lot of them seem very strange, so we won't even reply. There's another one that happened in Trinity where somebody saw just a big figure and what she described as kind of a glowing eyes. We actually recorded this interview and we got the whole thing on video, great audio, and we were preparing to publish it and she reached out to us and she asked us that we not publish it and then she asked us to delete the video because she didn't want the public scrutiny. So of these three first, of these um these accounts that we got that i believe uh at least two of them were legitimate because i was there during the interview and they were having this like i said this physiological reaction um you know i've only got one published uh that turned out really well but i believe her story was true also just just because of how it went down we recorded it it was a very detailed story then she called us and asked us not to put it out until to delete the video she didn't want the scrutiny so i've been there a few times it's frustrating especially when you put all the work into recording someone and then doing all the post-production and only to have them call you and say hey would you mind not posting that it's frustrating i get it man how did this kind of impact you talking to all these different eyewitnesses? Well, I mean, I'm definitely, I wish that I had more evidence, but after watching these interviews, it's obvious that there's something out there. I mean, I believe these people. I believe that they believe what they're telling me. Now, could I make a case personally? No, because I only have the secondhand information. but I believe they believe what they saw and I believe they're credible people. And they had no reason because these are like, these are country folk. They had no reason to tell me this story. I wasn't offering them money. I wasn't offering them a role in the movie. They weren't looking for fame. So I'm, I'm convinced that they believe what they saw. And I'm no longer when somebody tells me a story like this and we get a lot, We get a lot of people reaching out to us to tell us these stories because the movies become quite popular. I'm no longer a naysayer, a disbeliever. I'm open to hearing the stories and there's there's something very convincing about it. You know, while you were interviewing all these different eyewitnesses down there in East Texas, sometimes in people's encounters, weird things will come up. For example, people will say, you know, I saw this strange light during before, right after my encounter. Or they will describe things like glowing red eyes or glowing eyes in general. Did any of that weird stuff come up while you were talking to these eyewitnesses? Not these, but I've heard these alternate theories. There's one more. There's one more that I should at least mention. and I won't mention any names, but I'll kind of give you some other specifics. One of our location owners, really good guy, he reached out to us because he had a personal story. He saw, he says it was a, he believes he's a part of the Wood Ape Association. Have you heard of this association, the American Wood Ape Association? Yeah, I've definitely heard of them. Yeah. So he was out in Oklahoma and he spotted something and he didn't get close enough to get great descriptions, but he knew that it wasn't human and he knew that it wasn't an ape. but he gave me a name and this person actually applied to be an extra in our movie a very well known surgeon ahead of surgery at a local hospital and he has a story he claims that he's the only person that's ever been touched by a bigfoot they were out on a bigfoot expedition in oklahoma same Same area that this gentleman who we have his home in the movie, same area. And he says while these people were sleeping that a Bigfoot came to their headquarters reached through the open window because it was hot out They left a window open and this Bigfoot actually grabbed his arm. And so I just haven't had time to run this person down and get this on camera, but I think that would be fascinating because of his credibility as a surgeon. I think it's fascinating. I have a good relationship with the person that this story came from put his home in our movie he's a great guy he's come to our premieres and opened his home up for us filming there and so it's because of these stories that come from credible sources that I'm definitely I'm not a naysayer anymore so I hope that answered the question yeah it does answer it And, you know, having the skill set of listening to people, I think, is an art form that is lost on this generation. I think if you have that ability, you'll learn a lot more in life. You know, when I very first got into this, I really was of the mindset that this is an ape. We just haven't caught up with nothing more, nothing less. There's nothing weird about it. And my own mind started to change from listening to eyewitnesses on, for example, some of the weird things they've experienced. And when you hear it over and over again, there has to be something to it. But there is something about sitting down in front of someone, hearing them tell their account, and seeing the impact on them. It's like when I interviewed Travis Walton, Fire in the Sky. I know it's aliens and we're talking about Bigfoot. But if you ever sit down and talk to Travis Walton about that famous UFO incident, it's hard to walk away without thinking something happened to that guy. That guy is not lying. How many eyewitnesses did you interview down there in Texas? So personally, I got to be a part of two interviews. One we could not publish because of the person's request. the other one again is just very detailed and and um what got me was her warning not to try to find bigfoot not to try to hunt for a sasquatch don't go out on an expedition because because of the fear that she had when she encountered this thing she was worried for her safety she froze and uh that's really what what kind of convinced me that that this was a legitimate encounter and and just her character i know her she's helped us a lot um but hearing it from the sheriff after you know knowing him for a year and a half after becoming good friends with him and knowing that he went out and spoofed people with a bigfoot costume and it that video kind of went viral and then he calls me out of the blue after encountering something down in cheetah where monica's sighting was that is very there's just too much coincidence there so we get like i said we get a lot of people we're not really in the the we're not really in the space of going out and capturing interviews about these firsthand accounts so a lot of people that reach out to us we just you know respond well you know great thank you for sharing your story we're going to feature filmmaking so um yeah yeah i understand that and i really wanted to watch it last night yesterday was such a nightmare i was putting out fire after fire after fire i even got the show up late they were kind enough not to beat me up about it but it was one of those days man where when you get done it's like i don't want to talk to anyone i don't want to see anyone everyone just leave me alone but I really wanted to watch it last night and I'm definitely going to check it out tonight and again for the audience The Beast of Trinity, Texas available on Amazon and I watched a lot of your trailers and I know from talking to you it's not a horror film it's more like a murder mystery but as you were doing this project did you ever feel or do you feel that Sasquatch is responsible for some of these missing people? I don't know. I mean, just because there was no real violence that happened during these encounters, so I doubt it. I mean, yeah, I mean, is it possible? Sure. But I doubt that there's a creature out there ripping people apart, but that's just me. I'm kind of an optimist, so you'll understand when you watch the movie that I made and I wrote it. So I'm not only the filmmaker, I'm the author of the story. It's different. So I will tell people, your audience, that it's a lot different than probably the other Bigfoot movies they've seen. And I know you make more than just Bigfoot movies, obviously, but do you have any plans on making another one? Yeah, I finished up another script that I'm in the development phase for. It's totally different. It's a murder mystery, same genre. It's kind of the genre that I love, but it has this supernatural element versus this mythical element. I apologize if that doesn't sit well with the audience, but I'm just putting things into categories. Well, I can't wait to check out The Beast of Trinity, Texas, and everything that I saw as far as you put it together and how well it was put together. I'm definitely going to watch it, and I can't wait to see what you do in the future. You know, I ask everyone on the show, what do you think Sasquatch is? What's your take now, Terry, after this whole experience? I think Bigfoot's a creature that's close to extinction. I know there are a lot of different theories out there, And I could be open to this theory that he can disappear, something like that. But of course, those are all just ideas. Because I don't have a firsthand account, I really can't conceptualize what Bigfoot is. But I've just had so many people tell me their stories. It's hard to deny. And there's no doubt that Bigfoot is a phenomenon that probably really got going back in the 70s with the legend of Boggy Creek. I really think that that was a catalyst. It wasn't the beginning, of course, but I think it was a catalyst for our country. And it's just become a phenomenon. And Bigfoot is everywhere, at least in idea. I'm wearing Bigfoot pajamas right now. and uh i you know since making this movie my friends get me bigfoot paraphernalia so i wish i could be more specific but i i believe that if and i'm just being honest here if bigfoot exists i don't think he's out killing people i think he's out trying to survive like a near extinct creature would through you know animal instincts you know smart fast keen to senses, probably more advanced senses than humans, their smell, their hearing, because of the need to preserve their species. Yeah, that's a great answer, Terry. Have you ever thought about going out and looking for it? I have not because of Monica, because of this interview that I captured. I don't know that I want to go out hunting for something that doesn't want to be found, especially after hearing that the gentleman in the deer blind was kind of ripped out. And the way that the commissioner described his friend's experiences was, you know, he just had this strength that was totally unlike human strength. I used to wrestle in high school, and there were different levels of human strength. A good friend of mine was just, he didn't look like a powerhouse, but this guy had a different level of strength. Well, I imagine that these creatures have something like a strong human times 10. And I don't want to encounter something like that without some heavy firepower. I'm an ex-military guy. So if I did go out there, I would be, you know, packing some serious heat, but I don't think I would. I don't want to. I really I'm not a big hunter. I have friends who are big game hunters who's who've gone out and killed lions and elephants. And I'm of the mind we should let these species exist and, you know, give them peace. I'm not a hunter, though. So and I don't condemn people that are. So if there are Bigfoot hunters out there, I don't condemn that. It's just not my thing. I'm a storyteller in film. What you're doing, your guests and your listeners, they're fascinating. And to think, I think that, I just want to answer your question, to think that we're the only species out there is very, very narrow-minded. to think that we're the only thing in the universe that exists or that's important, I think, is arrogant. And I believe we are created by a God and that this God is a creative entity, if you will. And to limit his scope of creation to just humans is probably naive. At least I think it is. Yeah, I would agree with you. There's a lot of weird stuff out in this world. You know, people are seeing a lot of weird things. And I remember when I very first started taking reports of this upright canine running around. And I had a really hard time with it because canine upright running around makes no sense. Makes no scientific biological sense, let alone anything else. And I thought for the longest time people were mistaken. They must be mistaken. But I've interviewed cops, I've interviewed a judge, I've interviewed, you know, people in respected positions in their community that have seen this upright canine running around. What are your thoughts on other cryptids besides Bigfoot? Well, I certainly believe in alien activity. And our movie kind of explores these topics a little bit. these intergalactic type things. And there's a theory in the movie. But I believe that there's more than us out there. Like I said, I just think it's a little egocentric to think that we're the only thing that matters in this unbelievable galaxy. And it's just, when we realize how small we are, it really opens up our mind. and we are small. We are infantile in comparison to what's out there. I've gotten more down here in Texas. There's a lot of extinct wolf sightings and black, believe it or not, black panther sightings in Texas. That's easy to believe, right? Because there are projects that are actually out replicating these extinct animals now. So that's easy to believe. As far as an upright dog man, I don't know. I mean, I've never kind of heard from anybody that has had one of these encounter, but I certainly wouldn't, after my experience talking to these people that have firsthand accounts, I wouldn't shut them down. I would listen. My buddy that I talked about earlier who helped us a lot with this project, who had that firsthand account, he's kind of a jokester. But there is a difference when he was telling his story. there's a difference between what he encountered and what he usually does uh when he's a jokester his encounter was interesting he he was out leading a group of kids church kids on a um a church camp expedition and he said um they were all seated around a campfire and this and now this is the wildest account he said he heard something in the woods went out to explore encountered a Bigfoot and this Bigfoot chased him back to this campfire area. And actually, because I guess these kids were disturbing the peace of his territory, it picked up a rock out of the fire and threw it at my buddy. That's a really wild story. But when he tells it, he's got specific details. And I've only been able to get him to tell it in front of other people one time because he's like you know what i don't want the scrutiny so yeah it's too bad that there's that stigma i think that stigma is starting to go away though uh but it's more than missing out on people not telling their encounters you know there really are data points when people come forward i mean i've learned more about the creatures from eyewitnesses than i ever would any other way the film again is called the beast of trinity texas and i can't wait to check it out i'll include a link underneath this episode it's available on prime and i wish you success on your future projects terry thank you so much for taking the time to come on yeah thanks west thanks for uh thanks for the opportunity and thanks to the listeners and i hope they get some enjoyment out of the film that we spent a lot of time and money and passion on. So thank you, Wes. Thanks again, Terry. And that's it for tonight, everyone. Remember, if you've had an encounter, shoot me an email. My email address is wes at sasquatchchronicles.com. And if you get a chance to check out sasquatchchronicles.com, you can become a member and get additional shows. Until next time, everyone. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. you
