Summary

The Go Birds podcast discusses the likelihood of AJ Brown being traded from the Philadelphia Eagles, with reporter Diana Rossini confirming the player's agent is actively shopping him to other teams. Hosts debate whether the Eagles should trade him immediately or wait for better offers, while also analyzing the team's new offensive direction under Nick Sirianni and the recent media session with Howie Roseman.

Insights
  • AJ Brown's trade appears imminent based on agent activity, but the Eagles' leverage is weakened by public knowledge of his desire to leave, potentially reducing trade value
  • The Eagles' pivot to a new offensive scheme signals internal disagreement about the previous system's viability, despite years of claiming it was tailored to player strengths
  • Organizational dysfunction around star players (AJ Brown's attitude, sideline conflicts) may be a systemic issue requiring cultural solutions beyond personnel moves
  • The timing of a trade significantly impacts draft capital value—immediate trades secure known assets while waiting risks teams losing interest or finding alternatives
  • Howie Roseman's reputation for extracting value in trades is being tested; how the Eagles handle the AJ Brown situation will define his legacy in this era

We interviewed Dave Demrowski and it seems like 100% of people except Jack hated it. I'm floored. We don't have to get into it too much. We don't get into it too much, but there was some texting going on between the three of us, you me and Jack. I thought it was one of the worst interviews ever from a GM, but certainly off-putting. It makes you appreciate how much better Howie is. Howie's the best. Howie's down in Indianapolis right now, putting on a freaking master class on how to extract value. I know we can just dive in there because the AJ stuff is hot once again we'll get to diana rosini who's coming out saying stuff and and elliot was in the room with those guys last week we'll get to all that stuff but and i got a dentist appointment coming up so we gotta do it tyson had a dentist appointment this morning how about that what if it's the same what a thrill i know i gotta go my dentist is a uh a parent at my kid's school like their kids are in the same class yet so now i have to call him by his first name because it's weird i can't be like i can't decide if i see him at school it's fine he's an awesome dentist but it's like no it's fine it's good because now i i call him by his first name would you feel that way if it was a doctor maybe not i don't know yeah i think i don't know i don't know if i would like i love my dance like he's awesome i had a lot of dental work he's like i know him well like i've probably been to the dentist this guy like a hundred times you know 50 pounds probably not 150 i was gonna say i had all my work like i had tons of dental you have nice teeth yeah well yeah i didn't have braces but i my teeth just get cavities for nothing for two weeks really yeah i didn't think that was a real thing either i literally had a retainer for probably like two years and then i had braces that is really weird i did wow i agree i don't know what the point was i mean it's like on the effort it wasn't like just for fun but yeah all right let's get into it um the uh aj brown yeah how we crush of it all uh how he was asked a question by mike florio literally asked him what team are you trading aj rounder it's one of the craziest questions i've ever heard i didn't hear that question i only heard the answer dude mike florio asked him point blank who are you trading a brown he didn't say are you he said who are you trading aj brown to and how he goes um excuse me well you know it's crazy deep down you know how he instantly thought like patriots oh yeah and the thing too is like we know that florio and howie are our pals like you know he's been it goes on them every year like there's like really i look i think even before this diana rossini report came out that we're about to talk to i think we all thought it was a pretty unopened secret that aj brown or open secret whatever you want to call it uh diana Rossini came out today on a podcast. Scoop City. Scoop City podcast. Chase Daniels. And said that essentially, point blank, Jimmy Saxon, AJ Brown's agent, was shopping for trade. Yeah. Come on. Going to teams, trying to find deals and all that. Like, AJ Brown is getting traded. Yeah. He is as gone as... We did a poll on the morning show today. Do you think AJ Brown will be in the next season? 48% of people said yes. It's like, what are you paying attention to? So, look, I definitely... I think he'll get traded. I would be at this point, like I would put it at like 98%. Well, here's another thing to consider. If the agent's involved, which obviously the agent's going to be involved, is AJ going to want a new contract? Like that's something to think about too. I think that's part of it, yeah. So if there's like three teams involved, and let's just pick three, like the Patriots, the Bills, and the Ravens, right? So if all three are like, yeah, we'll take AJ, obviously. I wonder if they're like, well, we want a contract. And then it becomes where with the Eagles, it's like, well, are you going to give us the same contract? these other teams are? Because if not, then we definitely want to go to those teams. I think it's pretty simple. If AJ wanted to be here, he would make it known he wanted to be here. Very clearly. And also, AJ, like, Howie is putting on a masterclass, but when Mike Florio asked that question, he didn't say nobody. He didn't say we're not trading AJ Brown. You know what I mean? They know. I mean, they're not dumb. And look, Nick Sirianni. It's like Joe put up in the air. He's like, if someone asked, who are you trading Quinion Mitchell to? He would laugh. He would laugh. Well, also, he'd be like, what are you talking about? Exactly. Like, did I miss something? Yeah, what's going on? Yeah. I think that, look, Nick Sirianni's greatest strength and greatest weakness is. This is honestly. He's a bad liar. And when Nick. So you're in the room for that one because Joe read it on the air because we didn't get audio from you guys in the room. And it killed everything. It really did. Like props to the PR team. Yeah, that's why they did it. Masterclass. Nick, that answer was like, yo, is AJ Brown going to be on the team? He's like, well, you know, we really like the way it read. It read so. And the Gnock guarantee thing. Yeah. Well, because it's, he's trying to not be like, we're trying not to lie. And also I think what he's trying to do is in a month when he's traded, people not have to go back. Right. But it's like, who cares, man? Just lie. Everyone does it. We talk about the Carson, the fingers thing. We all know. Not to harp on Dombrowski, but Dombrowski could learn a lot from like, I agree. I think Dombrowski handled it very poorly. I will say the one thing Nebraska said that I do agree with on that though, is where he's like, look, we weren't getting any Cassie. I was anyway, and I don't think he's wrong, but I still think he's wrong not to just try. Like, well, I, I just think if you're Dombrowski, you go, hey, Nick did a lot for us. It worked out how it did. I'll always have great things to say about casting. Exactly. No, I agree. He was wrong. He was wrong. He was wrong. He'll be a great analyst when he retires or fired in a year. But you're talking about Dombrowski. Yeah, Dombrowski. I just think the Eagles know. Like, they just know. Now, here's the sad thing. I genuinely think Nick wants AJ back. Sure. Like, they're tight. They have a good relationship. I don't think the issue is AJ and Nick. And now, look. Like AJ did not give effort. They fought on the sidelines in this last game, likely as the Eagles. 100%. But I just mean, I'm just very good with moving on with AJ. But what I can't get a read on is how much the Eagles actually want to trade him and how much this is AJ wants out and they're like open enough to it. I don't know that there is a read on it in the sense that I think it's one of those situations where I think it became untenable. I think AJ Brown doesn't want to be here so bad. I think that's the first part. Of course, but the point is that influences how you feel. I don't think you could know how you would feel. This is the situation and they have to handle it as it is. I don't think there is. In a perfect world, if AJ Brown were a perfect teammate and whatever, yeah, they probably wouldn't be trading him. Sure. So what I can't decide is if AJ, let's just say, showed up at the Novocare today crying, like I'm so sorry. No. How would you trust him? Let me finish. And he's like, I'm so sorry. I haven't handled this well, but the idea really set in last night of playing for another team. And I don't want that. I love being here. I love being with you guys. I'm so sorry. My question though, at that point is with the Eagles go. Okay. Or with the Eagles go, we actually want to trade you. I think the Eagles are at the point where it's like, it's time to part because here. So I don't think it would be an emotional thing where the Eagles like, I can't trust you. Won't tweet next year. I don't think that's what it would be. I wonder if the Eagles are sitting internally like Jeffrey, Howie, the age, the decline. Yeah. I think that's all part of it. A draft pick. They're probably going to get a good draft pick. Yeah. She'll made a great point. going to save 30 million dollars in cash pick for the Patriots seems like such a like a that makes so much sense to me like we've talked a lot about a second I think a second is the most likely return you've talked about second that we come up first like if the Patriots want him they have the 31st pick in the draft just boom like that feels so like let's just do this so my question is if you're the Eagles and you get offered the 31st pick yeah would you rather take it right now you just take the pick or get a second from the Patriots or whoever that could become a first and you bank on one of these teams falling apart. Like we, you know, the Patriots are the schedule. Patriots will take a step back next year. Exactly. I don't need the pick this year. You don't, but there is also inherent value in the pick being this year as to next year. Like that's, it just is what it is. Like, yes, you have it of a trade asset for long. You also just have more information about, about everything, you know, about the players, you know, about, you know what I mean? Like you don't know next year. What if, you know, certain guys don't come out if this happens that you just don't know what the draft like right so but again they have more information on who's likely there's all kinds of factors i i think there value in trying to get a higher one next year it possible but i think that i don i think there is value in that but i also don know that i wouldn just take the bird in hand yeah it be tough I think there is a PR win Not that you should make the decisions of this but of just getting a first No doubt. I mean, a first obviously has the value because you have the extra 50-year option. There's just values to a first. The question, though, really is how long will this drag on? That's the question. How long? Because I don't think AJ has made it ugly yet. I don't actually think we've talked since the Patriot, since the interview on the podcast with Gronkowski and Edelman. Yeah, we did. Oh, we did. We talked like that day. Remember you came in the wink, we were doing the podcast right after him. Yeah, that's right. We did the wink around the world. Yeah. So like AJ has, I think, to a degree, like held it together. And I don't think that he is going to explode. I just don't think that's who he is. But if you're the Eagles, there is also value in like waiting till the draft. But like you also, I guess, want to know. I think you want to know, you know, it's free. And I don't think they will, but, but free agency is coming up. I think, I think in a perfect world, you have the AJ thing settled before free. But also if they're not signing free agents, which I don't think they will, like, I don't think they're going to be a huge spender in free agency. Then maybe there's value in waiting. Like if let's say the Patriots are saying to themselves, we'll give you a two for AJ, or we could just sign Romeo Dobbs. Right. But then they don't get Romeo Dobbs or the Ravens say the same thing. Like there's also value in a team. Is Romeo Dobbs the best wide receiver on the market? I think he's the best. I mean, now that George Pickens has been franchised. I mean, Tucker. I don't know. I haven't seen the free agent guys. It's that bad? It's that dark out there? It's a bad free agency. Did you see your free agency preview yet? I did. And I think Romeo Dobbs is the top one. So you should know. That's why I'm asking you. Yeah, but I also didn't put guys that they're clearly not going to sign. Oh, Mike Evans actually might be number one. So that, I mean, that even means even more that they should trade Adrian. Yeah, like if you're the Bills, the Patriots, or the Ravens, the clear cut. Now, Mike Evans is an interesting one because Mike Evans, you just sign. But he's older. He's older. And he's coming off a significant injury. Yeah, AJ's better for sure. But Mike Evans is Mr. Dependable, clearly a great guy. I think AJ is too, but AJ will have just forced his way out for what it's worth. And for what it's worth, two teams in seven years for AJ or whatever. This will be the third team. And AJ did not have a good year last year. He has forced himself out. Or not forced him out, but he has been traded. He will have been traded from two. Not because of the player that he is mostly. I mean, we talked about last year. He did not have a great year physically. No, no, no. And I think that matters. And that's part of the reason I'm good with it. Like, I think that we have seen the best of AJ Brown. I don't think he can maybe have a year being great or ever. Like, I think the AJ Brown from two years ago, three years ago, will never play in the NFL again for the most part. If you're the Patriots, would you rather sign Mike Evans or trade the 31st pick for AJ? I think AJ is a better player. How's something about AJ really wanting to be? Well, that too. I think it would be appealing for the Patriots. I agree. I think I'd rather have AJ. But again, first, first money, you know, especially because you probably have to give AJ more money. Right. But also if I'm the Eagles, I would, I mean, look, Diana Rossini is doing her job and she's clearly crushed this AJ thing from day one. I would not be happy that it's now known the agent. Of course not. No, I know it's known. That's on Jimmy Sexton. That's on the agent. No, I know it's known in leading circles, like obviously. Of course, but when it's getting to reporters, that's because Jimmy Sexton is probably going to the, probably going. So now she could be getting from other GMs who said that we heard this or ever. For sure. But regardless, the point is that's an issue where Howie and, and Jimmy, there. Yeah. He should be saying, Hey man, we're trying to work together and get your client where he wants to go for the best possible situation. Right? Like, so yeah, I think the Eagles are, I mean, how could they not be? It hurts their leverage. So here's, here's another question. Let's say other teams are like, we know you want to trade AJ. We know AJ wants out. Like we're not giving you more than a four. Like we're not, going to do it. We will test you to see if, because they're not going to cut AJ, right? I think you can't treat him before. You know what I mean? So that's my question for you, though. I just don't think that's, I think that's a hypothetical. But I don't think it's a real hypothetical. You know what I mean? Like, let's be real. Where's the bar, though, I guess, is my question for you. I would treat AJ for Would you do it for a third? Maybe. I don't know. Like, I might. I don't want to, but I might. Again, I can't have AJ on the Eagles next year. Okay, so I'm not there. I know you're not. I am. I think AJ Brown hurts the Eagles more than he helps. Especially because I don't think he wants to be here. I think he will cause problems. I do not think AJ Brown will put his head down no matter how this plays out. If he is here, I do not think he'll just put his head down and go to work. I think he'll be upset to be here and he will act that way because he has acted that way every single time he's been upset. And it'll be tense because the day one, it'll be... I think this is a nonsense hypothetical, but if the only offer is a fourth round pick, I might trade him for it. Like he has to be gone. It can't be an English. My thing is though, I think right now when you're in the heat of the moment, it's easy to like focus on things that maybe are not as important. Like I do get, trust me, like culture matters, all that stuff. And I, he clearly wants to leave. Like he could be, he could very well let it be known if he did not want to leave. He could tweet like that. And it's over. Of course. But, and again, his act, like when people act a certain way, believe that agreed like he is over and over and over and over again this guy can play when we're up 38 to 7 in a playoff game against the giants like i like he like this just can't continue but i guess it's not gonna stop why would anyone ever i don't care if aj brown came to me crying and said i promise i won't do why would you believe him why but i guess what i would i where i think we we uh you know take a pass yeah or diverge but diverse paths is i get all that and I don't think AJ is the player he used to be. So we're not talking about trading like Justin Jefferson, right? Like I think AJ is clearly a level below those players. Without a doubt. But it's all well and good until next year. They don't have a replacement. I get it. And like, maybe the guy's a great teammate. He's not tweeting, but if he's not as good, I get it. I think AJ doesn't help this team. I know he's a good football player. I don't know, man. Like, I think if you can't function, if you can't function, if Jalen Hurts, if Nick Sirianni, if these guys can't do their job correctly because A.J. Brown is causing problems. Do you think that's the case? Yes. That's my question. Yes. I don't know if I feel that way. We just saw it in a playoff game. The guy didn't try hard enough. But he also dropped a bunch of passes. Because he wasn't trying hard. He was locked in. He maybe catches those balls. Maybe if he goes into the game with the right mindset, if he's not just pouting all the time, he's not complaining about the ball. If he goes in and he's like, the ball could come to me on any play. I know it doesn't always, but you know what? I'm going to be freaking ready for it every single time, every play. If that ball comes away, I'm going to be ready. He wasn't. He wasn't. But I guess what I'm saying is, so who are the Eagles replacing him? I don't care. I don't care. But it's an important question. Again, I will take a step back to take a step forward if I have to with A.J. Brown. All right, so you're – Like, A.J. Brown is out. Okay, but I guess I don't – He doesn't want to be here. He's going to be traded, so it doesn't matter. I know. That's my point. You can't force someone to stay. Like, I think that if they – I think that forcing A.J. to stay here would be worse than any other outcome. so that's I mean again this is where we diverge past like I I agree with a lot of what you're saying I truly do like I think next year if they bring AJ back it has a chance to like tank the season now I don't think AJ would do it but like it could be ugly right away like just by him acting the way he does it causes in a year where it's already going to be like there's going to be toughness like they're installing a new offense which we'll talk about in a second like all those things I'm just saying that finding a player as good as AJ with all of his flaws is not as easy as I think we're thinking. No, I don't think so. Who thinks it's easy? No, I know, but like- They haven't had a player like him since Terrell Owens. Right, so then who's the pass catchers next year? Devontae? Again, I think that you have to figure it out. Obviously, whether they draft someone, whether they sign someone, whether they plan for the future, whether they go light this year and then they have someone in mind next year, like whatever. My point is it doesn't matter. This is about AJ Brown. It's not about who replaces him. It's about can this player be on this team and function? And I don't think he can be in Philadelphia anymore and function. Yeah, I really don't. I don't disagree. Like evidence has shown us that. Yeah. I mean, again, how many years can we go through and just have an AJ Brown issue every time? Screwing this. This is a problem. Oh, we got this problem. They did win the Super Bowl in 24. They did. But again, like, can you keep doing it year after year? It gets worse and worse. The more tense it gets. Compounded. I just like I think back to the days and I don't think it will get to this extreme I think back to the days of like he makes it not fun yeah yeah who like think of who Carson's receivers were you know and like I get it like do you think Howie's going to allow it to happen again like it's possible that he doesn't do a good job but do you think Howie's going to go in and be like no of course Howie will go and hit people I trust Howie to rebuild this team but to your point about a little bit like you know burden the hand and the stone but again you have AJ but you don't man that's where we're different Like I don't think you have AJ. I think that his mind is somewhere else. His body is somewhere else in his mind. Like he doesn't want to be here. And I don't think with this sport, with how much you have to give of yourself and your body and your time and your effort, if he is unhappy here, especially AJ, we've known like he's someone who's talked openly about how like he has struggles. Like I think he needs to be happy to be the best player that he is. I think he needs to be comfortable in a situation to be the best player he is. I don't think that is feasible here anymore. I just don't. I think it's gone too far. I think before they could get binds up, there's been too much. Again, what point do we... It was a bad year. I agree. I think it's past the point of no return with A.G. So, yeah. And again, maybe this is me being gullible. This is me believing the best. I don't view it that way, but I also definitely see your point. If he wants out and he going to be a detriment then of course you have to trade him And let put this right If he let say I also think it was really quickly I think it will work out I know that you said you I think they going to trade him for a good day I think that the market is perfect. Yeah. I think they'll be fine and they will trade him. They'll be able to trade him for something where they go. We got a great, we got a, we got a really good, and by the way, get ready to hear a lot about all the cash. That will be a talking point. They're going to save $30 million in cash when they trade them. And they, when they trade him, they will go, we're going to all this cash to resign our own guys. Like if we didn't trade AJ, we wouldn't be able to retain whoever. Like just that will be. I agree. Yeah. And I'm fine with that. I know. I'm just saying I'm like preparing people for it. It'll be the pick and the cash. That's what they'll view. Let's get to in the room in a second. But first Elliot, the room where it happened, but seasons over. What was that? The room where it happened. Oh, yeah. Like you, well, Hamilton actually love it. I knew you'd like that. I did like that. Seasons over. As we know, cold weather. If you're interested in what's happening with all the places where you consume sports, the Sports Media Podcast has you covered. I've been turning down interviews all week. Hoda Copy reached out, Oprah, George Stephanopoulos. So I said, no, I was booked on the Deitch Podcast before the Taylor Swift phenomenon. I must live up to my responsibility. Listen wherever you get your podcasts. All right, so obviously they spoke at the podium, Nick and Howie, but- It was boring. It was. I mean, it could just be pure jealousy that I wasn't able to go because of my flight, but I thought it was one of the more boring- There was nothing interesting to say. And I think part of that was because they had this session with you guys prior. They went and no audio, but they got, you know, but the reporters already asked those questions. You got no Stoutland questions. No way. Got one AJ question. Unbelievable. Not like, yeah. So look, that props to them. But you were in the room. And you could actually give us contacts on how they sounded with you. Because you could only read transcripts could only take you so far. Yeah. What were your big takeaways from being in the room with those guys? I definitely don't think they're going to sign a lot of free agents. I think if they don't sign Jalen Phil, I think they will re-sign Jalen Phillips. Really? I do. Yeah. I think they're going to re-sign him. I would put it at like 80%. Wow. Unless there's a crazy offer. which could come in for sure because again it's not a good free agency class he's a top five free agent i actually don't think he's a great free agent like he has medical concerns uh he's never had like great sack production i thought he played good for the eagles i wouldn't i would maybe lean towards great no i think good yeah but i would not say he was like you gotta have him back um and i think you could end up paying you always pay more for free agents now i know he's technically not a free agent until whatever, but clearly as we know, as we can tell with AJ's agent, like teams are finding out what they could get paid. So I think Jalen Phillips will be back, but if they don't resign Jalen Phillips, I don't expect them to spend a ton of money on someone. I think if they make a big move, it'll be via a trade. I don't think they're going to pay Max Crosby. Like I would take that away, but I think it's more likely they trade for someone than they sign a big free agent. There's just not a lot of great free agents. I think they will sign a cornerback too. Um, I did my free agency preview with that today in the daily pod, but like they, they will do that. And then the other thing I'll say, and I'm curious to your perspective on this, like this new offense thing is starting to rub me the wrong way. Of course it is. I'm not surprised. So here's my, here's my thing. All I've heard for five years of Nick as the head coach, all I've heard, you make the offense off the players. You make the offense off the players. We're running the things we're running because of the players, the play, the routes, the blah, blah, blah, right? Years of this. And now all of a sudden we're just supposed to believe like, well, we have great players. They can run whatever we want. Like it just doesn't add up. Like it's clearly spin. They're obviously going to try a new offense. We'll see if it works. But if for five years, you tell me that we're running this because of the players. And now all of a sudden I'm supposed to believe Jalen can just play under center all the time. Like it's no big deal. Jalen can just do play. I get your point. And I do think like in general, just do it before I inject. Well, but again, I think that I get your point. And I do think that, you know, coaching to players strength is important, but I also think that Jalen, you're prioritizing Jalen, which is important, but I think you also have to think about the other players on the team. Like, was that offense the best for AJ? Obviously not. Clearly not, right? No, but I'm saying Devontae, whoever, like that was not the best offense for those guys. That doesn't give those guys the best chance to succeed either. So I think that it's, if you're talking about just the quarterback, which is really what we're talking about. But I think you have to evolve the quarterback. Yeah, for sure. So I think that the quarterback has to be forced to do different things. So I get your point, but I think the way they explained it was interesting. and I like defenses have changed. Things are harder now. There's more muddying up and stuff. Like I think that they feel that this is the only type of offense that has a good chance to succeed against the way defenses are now. So I think you have to adjust and play the league. So again, I'm fine with all that. I just don't want to, I just think they're obviously lying. Of course. Well, it wasn't Nick's choice. Nick, no, I disagree with that. I know whatever he says, I think Nick's fine with it, but I don't think Nick went to them and said, Hey guys, we got to change the offense. I think Howie and Jeff said, Hey Nick, we have to change the offense. And Nick was like, sure. I do. I'm just I do you think that Nick was the one? Yes. Yes, I don't. I think I think now again I think that Howie and Jeffrey want a different offense and Nick was like, yeah, I'm down with that good idea. Let's do this. I think that could happen, but I do not think that Nick was like, hey guys My thing isn't working. Let's completely change it. Let me get rid of Kevin Let me get rid of this whole thing. I do not think that happened I don't think Nick views it as like his offense is my point I think either way, I don't think Nick likes the past year. I want to do the Shannon McVay thing. I don't think that happened. I think that that how we and Jeff probably. So I think we're probably parsing hairs here, whatever it is like. I think gray area. And I think it was painfully obvious to all three of them that something has possibly. But I think that I think that the reason they're going with this specific offense was because that's what how he and Jeffrey wanted to do. Um, I we just disagree on that. But regardless, the thing with the thing with Jalen that I'm like, it's a big question if he can do it. And we can all say he'll evolve. He'll work on it. And I agree with all of those things. But they are going into a season with an offense that they don't know if their quarterback can run. You've got to find out. And I just feel like when they constantly – The point is you can't just let a player stagnate. Agreed. It has to grow. I'm not saying I hate the idea of changing the offense. I love the idea of changing the offense. Yeah. Now, I also think – and there's a lot of gray here, obviously. It's not going to be completely different. But it's going to be different. I think it'll be 50-50. Maybe. I think it'll be more than that. I guess it'll be like – I think they are committing to this in my opinion. They are going to go into the season. And I think you're going to see Jalen under center on first and second down a lot. And they're going to try to do play action. I think it's going to look different. Agreed. Yes. But I do think if they can't do it, and here's a question for you. We've talked about this. I think they will commit. Let me ask you this. Would you rather all next year where like we know watching it, Jalen and the offense is struggling with this new system, but you stick with it for 11, 12 games. And then those 13, 14, 15, it's like, okay, they got it. Like it took time. Yes. I wouldn't, I don't want them to change them in season. That's my question. Next year is not as important to me as the next five years. So you would rather win just to pick a number. If I had to seven games or whatever versus 13. If I think that it for the longterm. Yeah, exactly. You're going to stick with it. Now there's no guarantee. I'm committing to it, but like I'm fully committing to it. So, okay. I don't disagree with you on it, but like if it's week five and they're commit two and three commit. Okay. So you would, you would commit the number one priority for you next year. is finding out, is changing the offense we run, is not winning. And finding out if Jalen can run it. Yeah, that's my number one. I mean, winning is always a big part of things. I get it. But if you're giving me this specific, like ideally you can win with this system. If you're giving me this specific hypothetical, if this isn't working, I would stick with it. Yeah. I think that's probably the move. But I'm also like, when did we become so obsessed with how the offense looks in a win? Like if you tell me they can win 13 games next year. No, but it's about the future. it's about but if they can constantly win 12 or 13 games this way dude they have they have they didn't they won 11 last year they won 11 years ago and then they sat the last game they really won 12 games last year like i mean just let's be honest right sure and they won 11 the year before they weren't good enough to win the super bowl agreed right all i care about winning super bowls i don't care about regular season wins i care about winning the freaking super bowl as many times as i possibly can in my lifetime like that's it right that's my goal period but then stop like Isn't taking a full year of winning eight games to like. Not if it's for the future. Not if I'm finding out if I can run this offense with this quarterback in the future. Or if I need a new quarterback. If I need a new whatever. It's more important than this one season. Because again, I don't think you're winning the Super Bowl with this offense. I think this offense is maxed out. They have won the Super Bowl with this offense. Maxed out Again I saying I think that the league changes Everything evolves I think you can run the same stuff I think they have to change I just think if the offensive line played better last year we not even having this conversation I don't. I mean, look, I agree the offense. If the offensive line played better, they would have been better. Of course. No one has been excited with this offense for a while. They run the ball well, but they've not been able. I don't think you can just be a running team forever. I think you have to find ways to be able to throw the football to win. They did throw it well in the playoffs in 2024. again yeah look i was a bigger fan of the offense in 2024 than most but we saw last year that it's stagnated and again i think that the thing you're underings i think kellen moore was light years better than kevin patulo like i think that kevin kevin moore could call plays i don't think kevin could like well we could disagree on that i think kellen moore's a great play caller a great yeah i think he's a great play caller i agree but also like it's a lot easier to be a great play caller when you can just go all right let's hand it to saquon and then that's like he's got a 70 yard touchdown you know like wasn't that wasn't the only part of the offense well no i'm saying like they they just ran the ball a ton that's what they did in 2020 but they ran it effectively i don't think it was just offensive line i think it was i think that they last year i think teams adjusted to what they did before and they kept on the same stuff yeah and you have to change i agree but i guess what i'm saying is i think we're getting like i can't decide if we're getting too scheme i don't think we are i think the nfl is at the point i think i think defenses over the last couple years especially and really like it's you know like the last five years whatever since like that Belichick Super Bowl against Goff, but really the last couple of years, defenses has jumped ahead. Defenses are doing things that are preventing offenses from being successful. And I think you have to combat that. Yeah, I agree. Scheme-wise. I think it's all about scheme in this case. But if you could win 13 games, like if I said to you the two options, you run the same offense, but you win 13 games. I don't think that that, I think this is a nonsense hypothetical. I don't think it is. They won 12 last year doing it. But Kelly, do you think they're going to win 13 games If they came out and ran the exact same offense they did this year, you think they went 13 games? If the offensive line is healthy and played better, I absolutely don't. I think you're making it way too simple. I don't think I am. Let's just move on. I got to go to Dennis. I don't have time to argue about this. We're running in circles. We disagree. Right, we disagree. What else from the room? That was kind of it. I got 10 minutes. I know. All right, we can do final thoughts. Yeah. Yeah, we'll see. I don't know what else to say. I disagree with you. I know. I think we're running in circles. We're just saying the same thing. like, yeah, we disagree. I agree. Yeah. We agree to disagree. I just think it's a dumb hypothetical. Like, I think that the point is, I think they have to fully commit to this offense. I don't think that you would win nine games, but if you go back to the old offense to win 13 games, like, I just think that's not going to happen. I think it's a silly thing to say. Right. But they, for what it's worth, they have won a lot of games. They have. They have. I mean, they've gone through the best stretch of franchise history. We're winning Super Bowls. And they've won a Super Bowl. They have. I know. I want to win more. Yeah. You and I disagree on scheme. We could just move forward. You think the scheme last year would work moving forward? I don't. Well, apparently the Eagles agree. Yeah. They would not agree. They totally agree. So nothing else from the room? Nothing else stuck out to you? Not really. I mean, just like little things, but nothing like big picture. I have a good final thought, I think. Good, good. All right, let's get to final thoughts. Why don't they make Boy Scout cookies? Ah. Why? Popcorn. Does anyone know that? No. That's my point. So there you go. Obviously, the Girl Scout cookies are a major moneymaker. It's a great take by you. It doesn't have to be cookies, but popcorn hasn't worked. Well, I just sell the cookies. My point is- Everyone loves the cookies. More make it cupcake, make it whatever. The point is, popcorn doesn't work. No one cares. No, but my question is, are the boy and Girl Scouts on the same team? No. So they're like two different entities. Two different organizations. I think, right, Tucker? Well, then that would be the answer. Completely different. Well, that's surprising too. Why wouldn't the boy and Girl Scouts be under the same umbrella? I mean, Girl Scout cookies are made by multiple bakeries too. I'm just surprised the boys have never gotten. I don't know enough about the machinations of how all this works. It's clearly a huge moneymaker, right? Like everyone looks for the Girl Scouts cookies. And the Boy Scouts have nothing like that. I know you're saying popcorn. It's not a big deal. I can't remember one time ever seeing Boy Scouts outside the store selling popcorn. This is a good take. I just don't. I think the point is, I don't think they. I think because that's the Girl Scouts thing. I think it would be lame. Like if Boy Scouts decide to sell Girl Scout cookies, you'd be like, well, that's lame. It'd be weird for like a month. Everyone thinks it was lame. and then like they're competing. It's weird. I think they define their own thing. The point, your heart of your point is right in that whatever you're doing now ain't good enough because the Girl Scouts are getting all the pub. I would just sell the Girl Scout cookies. Now again, if they're under... That's weak. Do better. I don't think it's that weak. Like it's a product that... Now if they're under a different umbrella, then of course. Well, that's different, right? So if they are competing entities, which I also don't love, I think the Boy and Girl Scouts should be on the same team. Like they're all Scouts. Like they're not that different other than the gender. I'm not a huge Boy Scout or Girl Scout. way i'm just saying like the girl scouts are obviously selling this fire product and the boys have have nothing here i i think that we should all share okay i disagree with the share part but i agree with the boy scouts got to do better yeah i just feel like the cookies i don't know what they could pivot to but it has to be something better popcorn also kind of sucks like it's it's like it's a it's a fine snack no it's great don't rip popcorn there's no reason for popcorn ribbage i'm just not a big pop like chips are way better than popcorn pretzels i think are better than popcorn no no that's great popcorn like popcorn like smart food popcorn is phenomenal smart food popcorn i would agree like you're talking like the white cheddar yeah but now that like your fingers afterwards or all your fingers you pour it in your mouth out of the big bag well i don't normally do bigger i do a little bit right yeah i it's a fine product but like the I will say popcorn in big bags is bad because popcorn we're making in the microwave goes stale so quick. That's the problem with it. So I think making popcorn in the microwave is fun because it's like nostalgia. I agree. It's fine. But it's not, you have to put a ton of salt on it. Otherwise it's a fine snack. I agree. It's not as good as, as a girl scout cookies. Yeah. So I don't know what they could pivot to. I just don't even say, Hey, we're doing girl scout cookies too. Now they're boy scout cookies. Like, I just think that would be late personally. I mean, there's not a moment for pride here. Like there's a lot of money to be made for the boys. Can't do it. Can't do it. But it's interesting. They're under a different umbrella. I didn't know that. I am intrigued to see what you think of my final thought. It's not a great one. It's actually pretty lame, but I'm intrigued. I think of all people, you're like the only person I really care to talk to about it. I hate the buying and selling of Twitter accounts. Like it feels like wrong. You choose Instagram. Same thing. Right. It's like, like that, like these NFL accounts are, it's not even owned by that person anymore. It's this person. Yeah. BS dude. I agree. You should not be, I think you should not be able to sell your Twitter account. I think there should be a rule where it's your account. Guess what? That's your freaking account. That's it. It's done. So just to think through this, because I agree with you holistically. I think it's unfair. I know that's a rule they could never do. They could never catch me. You're going to have it. I think there's an argument. But I think it is. I hate it. I hate them. Like, it like on a, and again, as someone who's like not, I don't care about Twitter that much. Like, you know, it's probably going to start through it. Like I, it makes me like Twitter less knowing that that happened. so my only counter to it would be it's a little like growing a business a little bit but but i agree but this is a specific thing where you're asking people to follow you for your thing i guess so you're saying like if you're like a uh it's like selling a news account or something well no i get that more if it's like wh news no what i'm saying is if i open a gym like i get it but my twitter account is like john smith and you're just a guy yeah i don't like it i don't like it it's weird to sell the John Smith account to someone who's not John Smith. Like that's weird. So I, I agree. The only counter I'm making is if you're able to make a hundred thousand dollars off selling it. I would, I would sell my Twitter account right now for sure. I get it. I'm just saying I don't, as a user, like I, it feels like disingenuous. Yeah. I agree. Like, I also think like if all of a sudden, well, there's, I mean, we've seen this with lots of Twitter accounts where they, where they change and like, it's like, I'm not following. Exactly. It's like, yeah, yeah. we used to work with somebody that all the time. Yeah. All right. Good times. Yeah. I agree. I'm not, I'm not a fan of it. Cause it's like, I'm not following you for that person. But again, the only thing I'm saying is it's like, I get it. Look, don't get me wrong. Years of work. I would do it a second. Are you kidding me? If someone offered me a hundred thousand dollars, I'd be like, Oh my God. Yeah. Please take it. Yes. Well, it's like that Dov Kleiman. That was, that was part of the one I was thinking. Like the whole tenor of the account has changed. Yes. I still follow it. and I think they're actually kind of funny. So I don't follow it, but it pops up a lot. Anyway, that was my thought. All right, I can go to the dentist, which sucks. Yeah. I hate going to the dentist. I mean, it's never as bad as you think. But I do like that my dentist is a pal now. So we're good. Hopefully he's not telling everyone about your teeth at school. That's a good point. That's why I say fine. I go to the dentist though. I'm like, I'm capable. My teeth aren't bad anymore. They just used to be bad. I'm not a... Oh, a dog. I did bite a dog. Yeah. That's a good point. I was like, I'm a biter. Yeah. his biter at WIP. Is that your thing? All right. This is good. Yeah. I'm trying to give another biter, but there's really not one. Mike Tyson. Well, I mean at WIP. Oh, I know. Yeah. Who else would be at WIP? Hopefully it's not like multiple biters. Hopefully you don't get any more biters. That's right. Yeah. All right. We're good. No show on Saturday because the Phillies. Trash team. We'll be back next week or who knows? AJ Brown get traded any moment. Yeah. Emergency pod. We will be there for that. Until then, he's I'm Dave. Go Bars! Go Bars!
