Summary

This Car Pod discusses Ferrari's new SC40 homage to the F40, Porsche's new CEO Michael Liders and hybrid strategy, Tesla's executive pay disputes, a Porsche W18 tri-turbo engine patent, Toyota's new FJ Cruiser (not for US), rare earth supply chain risks from China, autonomous vehicle safety concerns, and the market for collectible cars including a V70R and Viper ACR.

Insights
  • Design homages to iconic cars often disappoint enthusiasts initially; the Ferrari SC40 proves controversial despite being a one-off custom build rather than a direct successor
  • Executive hiring in automotive reflects strategic pivots: Porsche's new CEO's hybrid background suggests the industry is hedging against full electrification challenges
  • Rare earth mineral supply concentration in China poses existential risk to global automotive production, potentially more impactful than the COVID chip shortage
  • Collectible car values are increasingly driven by specification details (color, transmission type, mileage) rather than model alone, rewarding informed buyers
  • Autonomous vehicle safety remains unproven in edge cases; regulatory scrutiny is necessary before widespread deployment despite tech company confidence
Trends
Automotive manufacturers filing patents for extreme performance concepts (W18 engines) as brand positioning rather than near-term production plansGrowing geographic market segmentation: manufacturers withholding desirable models from US market despite clear consumer demand (FJ Cruiser, RS4 Avant)Rare earth supply chain vulnerability becoming a geopolitical leverage point; US-China trade tensions directly threaten vehicle production timelinesManual transmission variants commanding significant price premiums in collector markets, reversing decades of automatic transmission dominanceAutonomous vehicle deployment facing public safety scrutiny and regulatory investigation, slowing adoption despite tech sector optimismCEO compensation disputes in publicly-traded automakers reflecting tension between shareholder value and executive retention in volatile marketsHybrid powertrains gaining acceptance as pragmatic bridge technology as full electrification timelines extend beyond initial projectionsCollectible car market showing strong appreciation for low-mileage, correct-specification examples, particularly European models unavailable in USMotorsport events (Formula 1, car meets) becoming increasingly regulated due to street takeover culture and safety incidentsEnthusiast car culture facing pressure from insurance, regulation, and public safety concerns around burnouts and street driving

Idol money lies in your current account picking crumbs out of its belly button wondering, should I eat them? But when you start investing with Monzo, your money's always busy. It turns on regular investments, invests your spare change and tops up your stocks and shares ICER. It even helps you make sense of risk and return. Monzo, the bank that gets your money moving. You could get back less than you invest. Monzo current account required UK residents 18 plus T's and C's apply. Hello and welcome to this car pod. I'm Kenan. I'm Felipe. And I'm Crazy Neck, filling in for Doug, who's out on administrative leave after his comments towards Roof not being a real manufacturer. Tragic. Sad. True. And in all reality, he's enjoying some much deserved time off from the pod and from the office. So, with that all out of the way, let's get to the news. Let's do it. And we start with Ferrari. This car broke the internet this week. This is the Ferrari SC40. It's a one off car that's being made for a very special client. It's based on the 296 and the whole thing about it is that it's supposed to harken back to the F40. Now, a lot of people are very upset about this. So many quite. Exactly. You look at this car, Felipe, and you think, aren't all F40s red? You would be correct. And you think, don't all F40s have a twin turbo V8? You would be correct. But you look at this and it's like, does this remind you of an F40? In absolutely no way does this look like an F40. But they have said that this car specifically, it is an F40 reimagined. It's an O-Modernist F40. It's not an F40 out and out. It's not supposed to be like a direct successor to the F40. Just a one off car made for a very rich client. I have a big question. Okay. So we made a lot of fun to Lamborghini when they came out with the Countache, which is based at the very least on an Aventador. Why is this not based on Ferrari's current top of the lineup? The 296 is not entry level. But no, it's the V8. The V8 exists. Exactly. It's a V6. Yes, but it follows the V8 line. It's supposed to be in that lineage, which has always been kind of their entry level. Now it's more their middle level cars. Not the high end car the F40 was, which was the King Halo. They have other cars. They still have the SF90, I think. Why is this not based on an SF90? I don't know. It would be nice. They could have sold one more. I could have written that down as a second. That is partially my thought process. Yeah. I think I've seen some unsold units. I'm sitting in Doug's literal chair, and so I hate to harken his opinion here, but one, as Doug would remind you, anytime a new design comes out, people automatically hate it. Absolutely. It takes time to normalize it. Two, it's actually pretty cool. It does. I know you agree. It doesn't look like the F40. I don't love this weird headlight connecting to bumper line there. But the rear quarter of it definitely looks at 40. The wing. You definitely see it, but it isn't like the Kuntas where it is just a blatant ripoff of it. That was a good either styling a little bit. The designers said they wanted to make it a more squared off look, which they definitely achieved, but I think this is a perfect example of why Ferrari doesn't put wings on cars. I think it's very badly executed. I think it looks very awkward, and it doesn't look right. The 296 is a beautiful, flowing, like base design. That rear haunch is still the 296. It looks odd. The other thing is you say we're going to see this car. We're never going to see this car. There's only going to make one. This is going to sit in a collection. Rich guy's going to bring his friends over and go, look at this. We're going to see it at car week every year doing donuts around the quail. We can hope. The one can hope. I agree with you. It should be red. That is my main critique of it. It doesn't look good in white. I put it in a chat GPT and redid it as red, and I'm like, done. A thousand times better. I do agree with that. Again, if you're paying homage to the F40, despite what some people say, they're wrong. All of them left the factory in red. Period. That is the factory. I said that. That's the truth in this case. The factory never lies. Especially Ferrari. That year, they wanted to make as many. Yeah, but that year, don't forget, they said they're going to make 400 made 1300. They under sued them. They're all red. But this car, I don't know. I do think the coolest thing about what you don't have a picture is the, and I don't think there are any pictures of, the interior has used Kevlar instead of carbon. As like in Kevlar, it's got like a goldish look to it. I think that that'll actually be pretty cool. And I do think it's kind of a cool car when you get to the point where you can order one of Ferraris from the company. Yeah, you do well. Yeah. I mean, that's pretty real. Like that's what you dream of being able to do. But nonetheless, of course, exactly to your point. Who do you think the buyer is here? It's not like the salt and the burn. I doubt. I doubt it's Eric Clapton who's known for it. It's not James Click and Haas. So like, who is that billionaire that's commissioning the F40 revivals? It's a great day. Bad, making bad decisions along the way. Commissioner David Lee, Councilman David Lee. And making F40 revivals on the way. I have a question for you both. Yeah. Go do real those. All right. On Ferraris website for 2025, I'm excluding the special series and the Icona models. Okay. What cars does Ferrari sell in 2025? Okay. So the G-Cheese, the Chilling V. Yeah, that's there. The 296 GTB and then the GTS. Yep. The. Carousel on the way. The Carousel on the way, the Amalfi. Well done. The. There's the 296. Like the. Wow, really? It's the X, the X, X. The accounting. No, no, no. The 296 special special and the SF90XX are both in their special series. You said I'm missing three. Incredibly. I'm missing three. The two of them are. The car's already named. It's just like this is the Aperta. I have not included. You're actually missing four. I'm not including the Spyder version. Okay. Amalfi is the entry level car. Then the 296. If you're a song, it's a separate one. I can't remember it's because there's no. The SF90 is gone. Remember when it was just like there's a Gardo and a Merciless. Yeah, I remember when when Ferrari famously made the Gardo and the Merciless. I should know this and I'm going to kick myself. The answer, the Ferrari Roma Spyder. Wait, they still make the Roma in addition to the Amalfi. Just the Spyder. A pair of. Aren't they phasing out? I can't make Amalfi only a Coupe. For now, I guess I can't explain. The A49 Testerosa is on their website as is the Spyder. And then the Amalfi is on their website as a model, despite the fact that it just shows a chassis. Which is as much a car as it is. That is what the website says. There are 2025 line-upists. Right. So they have to burst it off. Of course, 2025 line-up, the electrical won't come out till 2026 or 2027 if it comes out at all. Also, why not make this based on the Testerosa which looks similar already? The Testerosa does look very similar. What did you forget about that? Ferrari is like Hollywood bringing back reboots and homages. Next story. Moving on to the next story. Porsche. The CEO. So this must be fleetless. Correct. We talked about Porsche a couple of weeks ago because there was talks of them. Their prior CEO, Oliver Bloom, was also the CEO of the Volkswagen Group. And there was a lot of concern that he wasn't able to focus on Porsche at a time when they are struggling somehow. They have a new CEO. His name is Michael Liders. He was at Porsche from like 2000 to 2013. He started out as like the CEO's assistant in like 2003. He was responsible for the Cayenne Hybrid. So that's exciting. Wow. And then he went to McLaren from 2015 to 2017, something like that. And now he's back at Porsche. Wow. He's apparently very pro-Hybrid in general, which is interesting for Porsche at a time when they are struggling with how to electrify their line-up. He was at Ferrari for a little bit. He helped develop the SF90 and the 296. Right. Great track record already. And now he's a CEO of Porsche. It's an interesting choice because none of those products are products that like, or like areas of the company that are that successful. Now Ferrari, of course, has an incredible success. Also, I have to clarify, the 296 is an incredibly successful car. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The SF90 less. The SF90 less. And McLaren in those years was doing well by McLaren centers. Yeah. Right. Which is just above failure. Great brand. So it's an interesting choice. He was at McLaren, 2022 to 2025. He helped develop the 750S, which is obviously a car you can identify as a 750S. So what do we extrapolate? Right. So we extrapolate that Porsche is going to do more of a hybrid year for Porsche, which kind of, with the difficulties they've had going into full electrification, hybrid does seem like they will bridge the gap. But I'm curious what like ideas he's going to bring to the brand. I don't know. So if you're a Porsche, you're doing this executive search, who is like a tried and true professional who loves sports cars that has credit in the sports field? There's nobody. No other sports car company, except for Ferrari, has had any success. Right. And an A.P. doesn't really want to, and Andrea Springer doesn't want to go into that, really wants to stick with the GT cars, which who can blame him? Yeah. So it sounds like he knows how the company operates. He knows the people. And so he might just be able to remove blockers as they become a bigger, more corporate entity. And then, I mean, the CEO is not designing the car. So I'm sure they have veto power to say like, yeah, the SF 90 stinks, but at the same time, like, if that's not really his goal is to be the visionary. I think in Italy, if you say that, I think it's punishable by death. I think you criticize a Ferrari. I find it to be an interesting hire because he was at Ferrari 2014 and 2019 as their chief technology officer. How would you describe Ferrari's technology in that era? Tough, right? Did he take away the buttons? Is this the button guy? Did he get the buttons? He may be the bun guy. It's a little, it's a tough hire for Porsche. Hard to find the right person. They have faith in him, presumably. It feels like an odd hire. Like when I saw the resume, it didn't quite make sense. Like this is the person that's going to bring Porsche to the next level. But also, it has the fans McLaren is a hard place to work and have a ton of success. Ferrari, I think is a hard place to work and like have impact and have a ton of success. Yes. Obviously, Ferrari incredibly successful as a whole. Do they need to go to the next level though? I always think of wartime CEO and a peacetime CEO. Porsche is at the next level. I mean, sure, there's wartime by their stock may go up and down. And sales in China are down massively. Their products are top notch. Every enthusiast is like salivating to the point where it's become annoying and a meme, basically. True, but like their larger products, like that they make, that they need to make money on in order to fund those projects realistically. That seems to be where they're suffering the most. And that's what that's my fears that it really impacts their ability to make the GT4 RS and stuff that you and I want. To be fair, the Cayenne hybrid successful vehicle, good vehicle. Yeah, exactly. It's kind of a for those of you are listening out, we all just kind of shrugged at the same time. Obviously, he's an enthusiast car company CEO. Hopefully, he'll bring good things to Porsche. Yeah, I wish him nothing but the best. And like you said, it's a great brand and it's headed in a great direction. I hear there's another automotive CEO that's threatening to quit if their pay package doesn't get approved. So maybe he's just a temporary holdover until a better talent becomes a nice, smooth transition. Three stories, but we'll jump there. Go ahead. That's how your brain works when you have disorders, sleep apnea. So Elon Musk ex-twittered. What have you, there's there's debate over his pay and the headlines are actually incredibly misleading because it says, oh, Elon wants a trillion dollar pay package. Well, he's mostly in stock in equity and like that is based on future growth. And it's it's not like someone's giving him literally a trillion dollars. However, he wants to retain all the voting control. There's a couple other stipulations, but he's having disputes with the shareholders and other people on how much he should be paid, how much, how the payment mechanisms work. And he basically alluded to on Twitter that, hey, if I doesn't get approved, that's someone else's problem. Then I won't be CEO anymore. Elon has been in a bunch of different fights about his pay. He's currently lost through the Delaware Supreme Court of Memory Service about a pay package that was approved years ago. That was something like a much smaller amount, 50 million, 50 million, something that range, large range. That was to for meeting specific targets, he would have gotten a ton of stock and cash. The argument by some shareholders is that that was not actually like the correct fiduciary thing for the board to do. And therefore they were set the rights or didn't follow up on that large debate. He hasn't received that money yet. Tesla is in a weird position where they are the most valuable car company by far. The market cap is many, many times any other car company's market cap. The stance reason that his competition should be quite extreme. Trillion dollars is an extreme number. His competition maybe should be extreme. But there's also a question of is he helping the brand? Is the brand advancing in any real way? Is that stock value? Is that share value correct? Is that market cap correct? No, short answer. And you could, the last calendar, you could make a serious argument that you use more of a detriment to Tesla. Totally. And so there's a bit of a question there. So a bunch of shareholder groups have advised their members to don't vote for this pay package. It also includes a bunch of lock-ins that make it harder for the board to have flexibility in the future. He needs to fight for that. And Tesla understandably as a company is going to fight for him to get the pay package and the approval from the board that they're looking for. It's hard to take any tweet too seriously, right? Like that's a bargaining tactic that you need to have at your disposal. Their earnings also came out yesterday, I believe. They had a really good quarter, although the analysts basically say, yeah, of course you did. It was the end of subsidies. We'll see how that plays out for you. But interesting times in Tesla. I hate that they're always a news story, but like because they are valued at like more than the other automakers practically combined, it's hard not to talk about Tesla, their business and sort of their market dominance. Should we also talk about how to pronounce it or nah? No, it's with a Z. Nick also can't say the word Vegas. Like say, longs Vegas for it. Vegas. Yeah, he says Vegas. Fascinating. Vegas. Nick struggles with simple tasks. But that is Elon Musk's current fight. So he currently has a fight about his pay against his board. Well, actually the board is aligned with him against the state of Delaware sort of. And now maybe another like very, very pictured with the new roadster, which the roadster. By the way, there was a news item this week that they will show the roadster again this year. Yep. Christmas is coming and so is GTA. Fool me once. Shaman, shaman, fool me. Yeah, whatever it is. Fool me once again. Yeah, exactly. But that's Tesla. I've been using delete me for years now. And let me tell you, I'm still just as grateful for it today as I was the day I signed up. The first time I saw my personal info all over the Internet, it was honestly kind of alarming. My full name, old phone number, old addresses, even info about my family was just sitting there publicly accessible. And it wasn't on just one site. It was on dozens. I had no idea that kind of data was floating around, let alone how easy it was for anyone to get their hands on it. And listen, as someone who's pretty visible online, I've had to deal with some pretty weird stuff. Random emails, weird messages, people digging a little too deep. That's why privacy is something I take seriously. Delete me became a core part of how I protect myself and my family. And that's why I always recommend delete me. It's been one of the best decisions I've made when it comes to online safety and peace of mind. Delete me is a subscription service that removes your personal information from hundreds of data broker sites. And here's what I love. You don't have to do anything complicated. You give them your info once, what you want removed, and they go to work. Every few months, they send me a personalized report showing exactly what they found and what they've removed. I've gotten emails like, we found your name, phone number, an address on 38 sites, and we removed it. It's honestly kind of incredible. And they don't stop. This is an ongoing thing. Delete me keeps monitoring and removing your info so it doesn't just come right back. Over the years, I've watched the amount of my data online shrink more and more. It's like a digital spring cleaning, but someone else is doing all the work. Take control of your data and keep your private life private by signing up for delete me. Now with a special discount for our viewers. Today, get 20% off your delete me plan when you go to join delete me.com slash demurrow and use code demurrow at checkout. So going back a couple of stories. So something new, altogether new, related completely. Portia has filed an application for a patent for a W18 engine. So that's three six cylinder engines mated together at the crank. But not only that, it's also a tri-turbo, not a bi-turbo like a Mercedes tri-turbo. So each one also has a turbocharger. Now I will say that every time there's like automatic manufacturers, auto manufacturers file patents all the time. It's not unusual that they do this. They just want to get ahead on things. But this would be cool. And Portia actually followed up saying that explaining a little bit of their logic of why they're doing this. The plenum system is really interesting about how the air is sped out to all six cylinders. So like they put some thought into this for some application potentially it seems. Now whether or not it ever comes into fruition, we don't really know. But this is a lot of hope. And if they make a W18 engine. You know, 9-11 famously six cylinders. We would not accept a V8. Flat sixes. Six cylinders is what I said. We would not accept a V8. We would not accept a V10. Except in the Cayenne. No, no, from a 9-11. But this is a multiple six. Well it could be. It's just three of the engines. Oh, you're saying it follows in the limit. It could fit, you know. It could fit. Conceptually. This would break the internet on the level of the Veyron did. You know, I was thinking about the silly day. I went back and watched the top gear like the Veyron race when Jeremy drove it against the plane and raced from Italy to London. And he said at the end that it was a hollow victory because he will never experience that kind of power again. And at the very end he said like no manufacturer will ever make a car like this again. And then of course they continued to iterate on the Veyron. Then we got the Chiron. And now a lot of cars have a little over a thousand horsepower. So like, I don't know, there is hope for this. And I think if you're, to Maté Rimmat's point, like if you're the type of client who wants the ultimate and you want, if you're going to pay millions of dollars for a car and you want something insane, that is insane. That's cool. Yeah. That is a serious point. The new CEO is going to put this in the Cayenne hybrid. You know what? Maybe he's responsible for this. Wow. Maybe that's what it started. The hybrid is actually the hybrid of the turbos and the three V6s made it together. What a fascinating patent. Like what are you, what would you, why? Just why? Power. Why not? Why not? Maybe that's the question he's challenging his engineers. He drew a line. Why not? He extended the 911 lineup to have a W18. Exactly. Moving on to the next new story, Toyota. Does not have W18. Damn. I'm surprised. I know. So this is the new FJ Cruiser. Yeah. We've all said that every manufacturer needs more off-road ready SUVs. And Toyota has come through and made a new FJ Cruiser. It will not be sold in the, yeah. It says Land Cruiser. It would be like, it's part of the Land Cruiser family. Uh-huh. It's based on the Hilux. Right. It will not be sold in the US. And therefore not worth talking that much more about. It won't be sold in the US or Europe. Mexico is going to have Jimine's and these just cruising around and we're not, we're going to be 20 miles away yet so far. Yep. Exactly. So close to the front. It looks so cool. It seems, it's funny. Toyota seems like it's becoming a truck company. Like they've got it. It is. Totally. They're coming out with more bangers. The Land Cruiser has actually grown on me a little bit even though I was one of the like, naysayers initially. This would do very well. I wonder why they think Americans don't like rugged off-road SUVs. That makes literally no sense. Like just, all they have to do is look at the Jeep. The Jeep is the only company keep, or the only main product. Yeah. Keeping scientists alive basically. Yeah. And we want it. Americans want, Jeep they want. Yeah. I mean, so just bring it. Maybe they look at the renegade and they said, oh, maybe it doesn't sell. Huh? They're already sold well. Yeah, exactly. Keep in mind that everybody had to buy a new one every three years because it broke down. Made in Toledo, Ohio. Thank you very much. Right. That's exactly right. 419. It's a little surprising that they're not. I mean, it's based on a platform that's not sold in the US. And I imagine it'll be a bunch of development costs that will get compliant with US regulations. But also, it feels like it's worth it. That's the cost of doing business. Like if you're going to sell a car, you want to be successful or not. Like that. And we previously discussed on the pod, the EPA is no longer enforcing some of the fuel economy standards. They still need to be prevention compliant. This is a good time to slide in another inefficient fuel vehicle. Or make it off something else. This is based on the Hilux platform. Make something off of the, why am I blanking on the name of the platform? There's a platform that every single one of Toledo's crossovers are based on. The RAP4 platform? No, the one that's every all the other ones. The Land Cruiser and the 4Runner and the Tacoma, et cetera, are based on. Like make a shorter version somehow. And it's a shame that they seem to be refusing to. It is a shame because man, is that cool. TNGA, the new generation something. You got that. It is pretty cool. I rented the old version in Sedona once and took it off-roading. It was like a very fun, cool vehicle. My in-laws have a first-gen one now. And it's not a vehicle that I care about, but it's cool. You sold some of the, what was the final editions that looked like really good with the TRD wheels? Yeah, yeah. They're like, they're still got a cult following this many years. They're worth money. A low-mile, I'm looking at what that's called too, is worth real money. That blue FJ Cruiser. It's a hair-teacher or whatever. But yeah, I can't remember the, but yeah, it's ultimate. The trail team's ultimate. It's so weird that you would do a throwback Land Cruiser, and then not do a throwback one of this right on. It's like great heels. Everybody assumes it's coming in the U.S. Shame that it's not. Well, hopefully Toyota listens to us. Listen to the Toyota B, which are right up there. They want it to come to the United States. Exactly. Thank you for those who've been listening for a long time. All right, next news story, moving on from something that looks like it's driving around and where Earth materials will talk about actual rare earth materials. All right. Are you familiar with China? Yes. Heard of it once or twice. You've heard of it once or twice. It's in Asia. It's in Asia. China, the vast majority of rare earths that are mined are in China. 70% of global rare earth mining happened in China. Rare earth mining connected to cars in a bunch of ways. It's obviously important for electric cars and batteries, but it's also important for a lot of things you might not expect. Side mirrors, speakers, oil pumps, windshield wipers. They all use some kind of magnet rare earth stuff. The U.S. is currently fighting with China about tariffs. And China is retaliating in a bunch of ways, including their own tariffs and also including a lot of export controls, where they're not letting specific goods leave their country or at least leave their country and come to the U.S. Rare earth is one of those things that China has already clamped down on and has threatened to lock down more, which would pretty much put a halt to certainly a view production, but generally car production in a really, really meaningful way in the U.S. And so that is the story. It is something to watch, certainly, because that is a huge bargaining chip that the Chinese government has, especially because they do control exports and imports in a way that few other countries do. And it could legitimately shut down production of things outside of their country. Every automaker right now is working as quickly as they can to lock down sources of the rare earth metals that they need from China, from other countries, to try to have enough. It's a good thing we learned our lesson from the chip shortage during COVID. Sure did. We don't have any supply demand issues. No, sure did. It's the same situation, just even more impactful. Those chips led to certainly diminished production throughout COVID of cars. Also led to some weird decontenting. GM famously removed heated seats from other cars because they couldn't get the chips for that. This would be that, but much, much more impactful to actually lean important parts of the car. This is the perfect storm for Jaguar, who is your supply of cars ready to go. We're just going to get new cars on the road that brings some diversity. They're all going to be Jags from two years ago. W18s with three turbos. I need a lot of chips for this. You're going to start seeing a lot of cars, like with their door mirrors removed and mounted on other cars. Like a strip off the metal. That's the European dream. If that were optional, option cost, you wouldn't just check that box. As a kid, our car did not have a passenger door mirror. That's crazy. It's like the 70s. It's a perfect storm. This was the 2000s. The car was a 1998. I know, but it's like the 70s. It was optional. Cars and beds stands the benefit from this. So we applaud, right? We have a bunch of rare, middle cars. You buy yours in the office. That's, I mean, sure. But I mean, this is just what happens when you start a trade war. There's a lot of different livers that both sides can pull. Totally. Boy, I hope this gets to be a dangerous one. Speaking of rare, I was at a fundraiser for the local fire department over the weekend. Sure. They had an E39 that was on like work wheels that they used to catch on fire as training exercises. Titanium silver. And I'm like, I wonder if there's any parts like their door handles look pretty nice. I'm like, I wonder if I could pull one off for you. But Rancho Santa Fe fire station number two has an E39 that they use for training. Lot of rare earth minerals. I will also know they, those laid on fire by themselves, which is different for trade. They do not. They're not fire hazards. Well, if you're, yeah, if you have any 39 and five PSA, make sure to replace your brake lines. Those are the ones by the ABS module. Those come up to the right by the headers and that causes a fire. You like cars that catch on fire easy. The three fat five, the E39. The three five five was particularly known for it, but the E39, it's, yeah, it's, it is an unfortunate thing. I've had that done. So I have not, not worried about firing my car. The car will not light up. My, yes, my cars won't maintain. Moving on to the next news story. Wow. Way to know my favorite driverless cars. Not actually. Have you been in one staunchly? No, I, I still try it. Refuse on ethical grounds to get in one because, can you remind me of the ethical grounds? Because it takes away jobs. Like being a driver in the gig economy is like one of the backstops for unemployment and like to have these like Google tech execs, like making all this money by like taking people's jobs. I don't like that in general. It's also in an I-PACE, which like you'd have to pay me to get into anyways. But Jaguar sold cars. This saved jobs for Jaguar. Oh, please. The only cars they sold. They're playing idling. However, the most important reason why I won't do it is exactly this new story. They're being looked into because at a school crossing, a school bus had its stoplight out and kids were getting out. And the thing almost like plowed over a group of children. Like basically they're being investigated to see if they're actually as safe as they claim because there's so many fringe cases of like a duck crossing the road or like, well, the duck can die. I'm sorry to say. Well, the, but it has to calculate what's what lives are worth more than other. Yeah. That's something that you have to figure out like that. It's a classic train problem in ethics, right? Yeah. That's right. I'm glad they're being investigated. I'm glad that NSA is taking these cases seriously. Yes. Obviously the kind of argument for people that are very pro autonomous vehicles is human drivers also run over children in school zones tragically. Yeah. Sadly. If you're a driver, please be careful. Legitimately like obey school zones. I'm glad they're being investigated though because they need to like, there are certain things that they need to be incredibly good at for any of us to feel comfortable with those cars on the road. And if they're not, then they can't be on the road. It's my stance. Yeah. I just tech companies like when Google's AI solution came out and it was like, how do you make your pizza gooier? And it says, oh, put glue in it. Is it pulled it from Reddit without any thought? Like I do not trust a tech company to drive a vehicle without someone overseeing it. They're too profit motivated and not safety oriented enough. So at the very least it's good there's lawsuits to hold them somewhat accountable, but I don't trust the US government to enforce this in a way that's going to be a viable solution but I still suspect this is coming whether you want it to or not. No. I want W18s with three turbos and I want to pay the two final, final, final editions. Unfortunately, the last of the 150,000 Pagani's on this edition. Yes. If we run out of rare earth metals, you can keep your eye paces. We are good. Okay. We'll take SC40s. Hard to argue that. Yeah. Okay. And that is the end of the news. Thank God for that. Yeah. Now we're coming to talk cars, which is brought to us this week, but while you're not wearing your, I can't, you're not wearing a draft shirt. So I'm not wearing a draft shirt. Yeah. As far as you buy your glass, your green glasses, most people don't realize, Filippo has green glasses. You can only tell when he's wearing green. So thank you for your glasses. Sponsors. I think they're green at all times. Yes. But you never, I don't ever notice it. It's really dirty. I should clean them. Hey, Ken, I'm going to clean my glasses. I will happily clean your glasses. Today's talk cars is brought to you by Polodi because details matter and the right car deserves the right gear. Polodi's shoes are engineered to enhance the fundamental connection between the driver and the car, improving steering, shifter and pedal feel. Just as you wouldn't compromise a great car with cheap tires, why dole the feel of your dream car with inadequate footwear? And look at these. They just look like a stylish shoe. I've been wearing these even when I'm not getting behind the wheel of a car and I'm going on a trip soon. I'm going to be wearing them every day. It's clear these shoes are designed by a true driving enthusiast. Every element serves a purpose, contributing to a more sensitive and connected experience. The thinner sole in particular offers great pedal feel, a difference that you won't fully appreciate until you try them. And the brilliant roll control heel is a game changer, especially for manual transmission drivers as I hope that many of you are. It's specially designed to facilitate smooth pedal transitions, making heel and toe downshift much easier. Polodi's shoes are the kind of upgrade you don't consider until you experience them. And once you do, there's really no going back. They complete that crucial connection between the driver and the car. So don't just bid on your next dream car and cars and bids. Make sure you also get the right gear for it. You can visit polodi.com and use code CARS AND BIDDS for 15% off. Polodi.com and use CARS AND BIDDS for 15% off. Nick, you have some news. Let's start us off. Well the big thing, no one still knows what car I'm going to get next. There's no car around. I've been really subtle, so keep guessing someone will get it eventually. You know, it's hard to tell what it could be. But the big story for me is actually that the Mercia logo, it ends on Thursday. We're filming this on Wednesday, so I actually don't know how it's going to end. But by the time this launches on Friday, the auction will be over. As we are speaking, it's at $251,000. It's a pretty good number and I'm hopeful that there's a little action at the end. I expect more action. This is a car I may or may not have purchased behind me. It's coming in soon, potentially. I'm going to pretty much let it loose regardless. So I'm excited. It's been really fun. I think it's gotten something like a couple hundred comments. Yeah, a hundred and fifty thousand views, eighteen hundred people watching. I'm really strong. I've had a lot of people DM me and chat up me. So it's been really fun just to hear everyone's reactions. A lot of people super into the Mercia logo. The feedback is still iffy on if the SLR was the right choice, but I'm having fun. Don't tell people. Well, yeah, I mean the unnamed car made by maybe Mercedes or maybe McLaren. We don't know. They don't know either. I think I speak for us all, honestly. I am definitely going to miss that, your mercy. It was wild to have one in our lives and you're very generous in letting us all drive it. I've never driven it, but that's on me. Actually, yeah, you drove it briefly on and off a truck, but that definitely doesn't count. I parked it on a transporter and then on with E gear. Yes, that was the only time I've been in it was going upper ramp in a tight confined spot. Just the worst time that career GT. You know, that's all the Internet net swingers typically only drive it about that far, then come up with the conclusion of all the e-gears terrible. The E-gear was fine. E-gear, it was except for in first gear. Yeah, it was fine, but I am genuinely going to miss the car. I'm glad that you had the experience and you shared it with us all and open my eyes to how wonderful those cars are. I am too. And I can't wait to figure out what I replace it with, but when we do find that out, I have a feeling that that car will be pretty fun too. So yeah, you'll have to stay tuned next week to figure out what that could be. Yeah. Are you sad that your mercy is going to be gone? What are your feelings? What are your family's feelings? Everyone's surprised, like including my mom and my dad. I can't believe you were finally getting rid of it. My mom wanted me to sell it like the first day I got it because she's like, oh, it's too much money in a car. But it's an icon. I think I could always go back if I needed to. The only lingering fear is like they're on the upswing. So financially it's like, okay, maybe it would have made sense to hold on to it longer, but I'm ready for a new experience. It's fine. I think whenever someone is done with a car, whether it's going to be worth more in five years, it's just not worth it to you to hold it that long. The one you're done with it emotionally, you've done everything you wanted to do with it, it is time to move it on. Now that said, to my point, I'm not done with my car, although I am looking very much for the second car out of the safe and I will buy one soon. But I think that you just reached the end of the journey with that particular car. And like you said, to your point, you could go back to it again if you wanted to. Well, as Hagerty points out to me every time I add a new car to the policy and I'm up to six cars on the policy, they go, we looked at Google Earth and you have a two car garage and our requirement is that they're parked inside. And so every time that conversation gets a little trickier, but there, as you can see in this back here. Yeah, we'll help. We'll learn a garage. Yeah, we'll support this insanity. But the Mercia Lago was such a good car, like fairly uneventful other than a starter motor. I'm thrilled though not to toot your guys' horn because I don't work here. But cars and bids was so easy to work with. Your video producer shot all the pictures and people have been like geeking out over how great pictures. The cool the pictures are with the aircraft carrier in the back. The comments have been really good and 251 with 24 hours to go. It's a good number. I would say if this car were eager and not converted, this is top. Well over what it would be worth as an automatic. Like maybe a dealer might list a car like this for 250, but they're taking 220. Clearly there is a reward to the manual swap. The question will become how much we reward them. When people are watching this, they will know the answer to that. I worry there's going to be some speculators that come after this and start buying to convert and flip, which some people have argued I did. That was never my intention. But yeah, I think it's like a very exciting time for Mercia Lago owners. It is funny, the two owners groups I'm in, everyone's like watching this like a hawk to know did they make the right choice? Should they convert? Should they not? Makana who did the conversion, I spoke with him yesterday and he's like, yeah, we're a lot of people are watching this and wanting to know how it turns out, including them. Because they, I originally talked to them about buying my car when I was trying to get Ed's Diablo and we came to a number that they probably could have converted and flipped it and made some money. So now he's going to figure out if he has remorse, not buying it basically. Yeah, I bet he does. And I suspect the last day will be a very interesting. He has some remorse other than all the videos and fun adventures we've had as a team have been good for their business. So it's an incredible car. It's a beautiful car. Get a manual now. We'll miss it in our group of friends. Yeah, but you're not Nick Mercia anymore. You'll be Nick some other car. Yeah, unknown car. Yes, Nick. Hey, move to your right a little bit. Just so you can think they can't see what car to. Yeah, right. So, so, so well. I think it's an SL 55. Yeah, probably. Probably. Can I talk about a car that I drove recently? Absolutely. I drove an Aston Martin garage all around Atlanta. I've we were at, as we talked about last week, we were at Imtaz-Potilla Mall a couple of weeks ago. And I got there early, so I could film a video with this maroon black garage. And then I drove it around after video. I drove around to because we wanted to add our event at River Island. So I ended up putting a fair number of miles on this car, spirited driving around the around the lake where we were filming a bunch of highway transit time, a bunch of other back roads. It's such a good car. It's so. I did not expect it to be a good car. Like truly, I went in with very low, with medium to very low expectations and it blew them away. And I think even if I'd had high expectations, it would have blown them away. I'm surprised by how much I was in this car. By the way, there's a full review on the cars and YouTube channel and probably link below if our producer did so. Please go watch it because I think it's a good video. And there's also a little car, a little James Bond-esque cartridge in it. Now the video, the video turned out amazing. It's so fun to watch you experience cars like this because it's like not initially your jam, but you get so into it. I know. Like it's surprised me. It's fun seeing the car win you over in a way like that. It really did. I did not think that I would leave wanting an Aston Martin. Yeah, but we also all walked away being like, yeah, that is actually a Filippo car. Like I can't explain why, but it is absolutely a Filippo car. Go bid. It's like it's how do I put this? It's brown black, which is my other car also. Yeah, you do. Not just the color. It is like, I don't know. It's you wanted a Ferrari, but you held back. I've never never been a single Ferrari that I wanted. Exactly. But if you did, which because you wouldn't buy this either, but if you did, short car, this is the following short car a little bit. But I think genuinely, I think that the garage is a fantastic car. That engine is the engine is the engine is the point, but then it handles better than you'd expect and it drives generally better than you'd expect. The chassis is incredibly stiff and like by design. I'm not saying the ride is the right. It's a very capable car and the varages are really overlooked because they're only produced for a single model year that many people bought them and it became the next version of the DB nine. Yeah. And in essence, but they are really great. I got to ride around with you in a little bit and it's just that. It's better than it makes. It's so nice. Can I go one story about the video? So there's a little James Bond ask scene in the video because our producer, Sean, we were there are three cars. I'm going to go get a very behind the scenes story here. All right. I'm going to give a very behind the scenes little glimpse into shooting a car in the video. We were filming around Lake roads. We had this car, our camera guy who works in our team, Shannon had his E 34 from 35 I. Yep. And then we had a Honda Civic rental car. That was a great car. Honda Civic hatchback. Sean was Sean, our producer was behind us in the Civic. I was like, you know, I think that I can get a great shot of the two cars kind of chasing each other through some back roads. It'll feel very James Bond ask. Yeah. Mount a camera to the front of the Civic. You guys drive down the road, have some fun and I'll film it. There's a single shot that was usable from when Sean was filming. Sean decided to for the entirety of that drive, stay three corners behind for untold reasons. And the camera and our editor, Shannon, did a phenomenal job of like making it look like we used it. I think to to appease Sean. But it's a really beautiful video, regardless. It really is a beautiful video. What a great place to drive that car. You know, it reminds me very much of like the the vanquish S. The vanquish is one of the press picture that we're taking in like a woods, but driving beautiful, sweeping roads. Like that's what you want to do in an ass. And like that's what it's for. And I'm glad you got to experience that. Does this make you want to experience other? Yeah, yeah, yeah, it legitimately kind of does. Wow, really? Also, the part of film that's got to do the same road, like the great road many times and it's got better and better and better. Wow, well, good. I'm surprisingly into the Zasin. I'll make it done by it. Get one. I'll make you a packed. If you get one, I'll get a rapide and I'll wrap it the same color and you and I can go around. You'll wrap your rapide. Wrap your rapide. Well, I assume the rapide didn't come in such tasteful colors. But if it did, it would be you should consider it. Hard to repeat. I got you got two kids. Stratman has one right now. Stratman has one right now. Well, you just get to buy cars from YouTubers. Is that going to be your I think, you know, it's 28. The mercy technically came from cultivated collector. Who's a YouTuber? Sure. There was one other car that came from a YouTuber that I can't remember. Oh, I wanted to buy Ed Bolian's SV. So, yeah, I kind of do. Like I might just slip into Stratman's DMs. Just, you know, 122 million people have YouTube accounts. So I think that's a good chance. That's a good chance. I from a tour for 28 to 50 for as the lowest. I think we've sold the repeats are by that. Go buy that. Get rid of your kind. I mean, Stratman just showed up to like a random dealer in Idaho and paid like 35 for it. And they were thrilled. Yeah, they were thrilled to go by that. This is their perfect for a dealership to have for like two months as a magnet that people. And then they realized no one actually wants to buy it. It just test drives and like rent cold calls. This is like, yeah, small dealers in the Midwest buy this when they see it at like one of the auctions. And they had Mannheim and then they have it on their lot. And it's like, man, the owner of the deal drives it. And then it's brought. Yup. It's a gorgeous car. After my experience, I'd want one. It's the official like car of like a politician needs hush money. And then that's who they, that's what they give to keep the person quiet for whatever they had. Yeah. They don't give money. A repeat or a garage, like a, a used one that looks like it's all the money, but really it was only like 35 K of campaign contributions. Like that's, that's the ultimate hush money. I would love for a commenter to explain to me what I put, they could say. I, I like, I need to get somebody else to explain to me. He's mentioned politicians and hush money. Is there something you'd like to tell us? I'm reading a book right now by Carl Heisen in which he gives his, his extramarital affair, a Aston Martin as a way of keeping her quiet. It all makes sense. So maybe that's where that's coming from. DBS, that's what I want. Oh, that's beautiful. Also you can get a DBS and a DB nine with a manual for brief periods of time. And that's addressing. Although the automatic didn't feel antithetical to the, to the 12 experience. Oh, that's a Kenan statement. I've never driven an automatic DBS, only the manual was driven to. And I actually was surprised that clutch by point is very high and it's very vague and it's like, it's not actually that nice to use, but do you want to shift your own gears or not? What's the price? I want to shift. Oh, massive. Yeah. Huge difference. So I don't know. I, but yeah, I would love an Aston Martin for you, but you just did, you say, I say this, if we've been in these goes, I don't want to buy anything. Despite the fact that I very much do, but I like that car so much more than I thought it would truly nice. I'll make you a deal on an Arnaj. Yeah, so good without I'll sell it to you for what I paid. I, I'll trade you a fiat 500 bar. It's probably a fair trade. That's an offer for you. Probably a fair trade. All right, Kenan, what do you got going on? So this weekend, I'm very excited. But by the time you're listening to this, I will be in Mexico for the Mexican Groom. Our friend, Kevin is having a bachelor party. Congratulations. Unfortunately, you couldn't go. I don't think you can go. You want to see any of that? No, I'm not allowed in the country. That's right. I'm taking that bribe money. That's right. But actually has a has a Dastamar repeat parts in Mexico from when I pause to cover it in dust. That explains all wrapped in purpleish brown black. Right. Exactly. But I'm very excited. I've never been to Mexico city before. Everybody raves about it. I'm really excited to go. And this was my second Formula One race in person. I know it's incredible. It's the other one. And of course, the Formula One season is getting more exciting. Are you watching it this year? Oh, absolutely. Last year, you seemed so down on Ferrari slash life. I'm still down on Ferrari. But that's being a Ferrari fan. But yes, this year is like it's so close between the two McLaren drivers. And Max, which happened seems to be catching up quite a bit. I know. So you never know. I've never count Max out. It still seems more likely likely there'll be a McLaren. I think there's like a 40 point gap or so between him and getting there. But who knows, it could come down to the end. But Mexico City is a great track. Yeah, the track is wonderful. It's that elevation, which is interesting. It's different challenge for the cars. Yeah, but the city is surprisingly high. Surprisingly high. Yeah. So am I high. But I will be there. So if you see me, come say hello. I don't bite. Would love to see people. I do the exact same thing when I was at Spa. Yeah. Always happy to see people. And just can't wait to watch some Formula One. Can't wait to see two. Get away. So embarrassing. They're growing up. Won't be long before the thought of a family holiday is just. But with Hilton's staycations all over the UK, we don't need to go far to feel close. Welcome. And with connecting rooms confirmed when we book, we'll have plenty of space to make the most of every moment. Everyone in the photo. When time away means time together, it matters where you stay. Book now at Hilton.com. Hilton for this day. Races in person. Also, Mexico City is an incredible city. I'm very excited. It's a beautiful city. And also during Formula One weekend, maybe there's cool cars too. Yeah. Without it. Honestly, there aren't. But maybe that we could. Maybe. But I'll look for like a loophole for you. I'll take a picture. Yeah. Please do. Of course. But only a first gen loophole. Only a first gen loophole. The whole group you're going with are car people too, right? Yeah, absolutely. So it's a I think we've done this before. My friend, Sam's our friend, Sam's bachelor party. We went to the Cading Grumpy in Montreal. And that was a ton of fun. So if you need bachelor party ideas. Go to Formula One. Formula One races are awesome. And specifically ones outside of the country because they're a lot less expensive. And then you get to see a cool city. You get to do car things. And there's always Formula One stuff in the city as well. The teams have different stuff set up so you can go and check out the cars up close, which is always a lot of fun. So highly recommend it to anybody who needs a bachelor party idea. What did you do for your bachelor party? I hung out with some friends the night before my wedding. All right. All right. That's it. What did I do? I didn't talk about it. We can't talk about it. We can't talk about it. You did see it. We can't go down this road. No, it was either a track day or go karting. I can't remember. But same thing, all the car buddies and we did car stuff. So that's surprisingly wholesome. Yes. Yes. Think you need big money or hours in the kitchen to make a great dinner at home? Nope. Which is a few months ago, I talked about the fact that courtesy of Expel, I have Expel tint on my car. Oh yeah, it's for that. On the Volkswagen GTI. And it's like UV blocking. And I keep driving around in cars that get hot inside. And then I go home and my car doesn't. And that's really nice. So I do recommend it. You know, it's something that- I keep driving other people's cars, like rental cars, because I've traveled a ton recently. And they all get so hot. And you're driving around and it's hot and I now might actually pay to do it on my other cars. Blast for me. It kind of is, because I don't modify my cars. And tinted for the modification. Well, we don't even include tinted for the modification or car to bid. Your Fiat is not modified, because it sounds louder than any modified car I've ever heard. From the factory. It's shocking. All my cars are stock, man. I'm glad that you said this, because yeah, tint also, like you can, the heat rejection film you can have, I believe they do just a translucent one. So if you don't want like any color to it. Mine's like a minorly tinted, which is- Well within the legal requirements. It does make a big difference in like, especially on those long road trips in sunny places, which you tend to drive to here. I know, I know there's not a ton, but I just, I didn't think it would make a difference. Cause there's tint on my wagon, but that's like regular tint. This is good tint. 12 years ago. This is why you don't cheap out on tint. It turns out, it turns out that's why you don't cheap out on tint. Yeah, there you are. That's my insight. I have one more. Okay, yeah, yeah. I'm going to be not at the bachelor party sadly, but I am going to Radwood this weekend. It's at the court of Los Angeles. In the multiple, so if anyone in the LA area wants to see the multiple, also come say hi. I am friendly. I got some surf style baggy pants and then a multiple shirt. So I won the best or Raddus truck, I think was a category with my Celine XB a couple of years ago. It's time. I'm not banking on a win this weekend, but I also feel like it's going to be a solid contender. So I like it. And then it's my birthday Sunday. So this is the day before my birthday. And I feel like the judges kind of take that into account. So art or any of the Radwood people, if you're listening, you know, this is a shout out here and let's scratch my back. I scratch yours kind of thing. Scratch your back while giving you the, give me the award. And then I'll mention you on the podcast for free. Because nobody's ever heard of Radwood before. That's right. Very, very rare. Radwood and Hagerty have been mentioned. So I also expect a rate discount. I like that strategy of saying it before you ask for something. Yes. Well, Nick is a shoot first, ask questions later on a guy. And if there's a problem, we'll get you hush money in the form of an Aston Martin for us. God, here's the... It's supposed to be hush money. A related note last weekend was cars and copters. There was a helicopter accident there, which was really sad. Nobody, the couple of injuries, but... No, a kid got pinned under, which there's a GoFundMe for. And like, having a kid myself, I'm sure that's traumatic, even if he's physically okay. However, the next day, during the actual event, there was some streets, takeover style, burnouts and people flocking. And then yesterday it was announced that South OC cars and coffee, which is a huge one at an outlet mall. They've had a working relationship with the city for so long. They have permits, all of this. They're doing everything right. They hire security. They're really careful about it and consider it. But even then the burble tunes and the takeover crowd has made it rowdier and rowdier. So it's being threatened to being shut down. And then there was also slammed enough Gatlinburg. It got shut down the last day. It showed two I-vibes. There is a trend where we can't have nice things because people get a little carried away showing things off. It went from an occasional Mustang taking out a group of people to entire events. So please, if you're watching this, we love cars. We love the sound of them. We love burnouts. Yada, yada, yada. But not on public shows. Stop ruining the events. If there are a ton of people there, all you're doing is risking the fun for everyone. And it's not cool. Go do that in an abandoned parking lot or a track. Or somewhere else that you're not spilling the fun for everyone. Definitely. Don't go ruin it for everybody else. But these are still public roads where there's other people driving where there's rules to be followed for good people. And most of the crashes are you hitting a random pedestrian or onlooker and not even an enthusiast. Well, you're just irritating everyone. Also that. It's not cool. I've said this before. When I see someone in a real love car like Ripaway at Carson Coffee, it's like, I just roll my eyes and all of us collectively at the same time do that. No one likes it. We wanna talk about cars and engage like in a very positive way in car culture. But to the exact point you said, if it's going to ruin it because other people live there and we share the community with everybody, that's a huge negative. So just have some restraint. Can I extend this a bit? I would never. Actually, your fiat might be too loud to speak. Borderline. And I am mindful of that. I'm gonna extend this further. Be a reasonable human when driving too. A few, like a month or two ago, my wife was driving home from Northern Arizona. Her family lives out there and you drive through a town called Skull Valley, which is like a lot of like twisty roads because you're going down a mountain and no service. She noticed a car coming the other way. There was like crossing across the line. She was able to get off the road. They then, the car that was passing her, it was like some regular citizen, then lost control and like turned around the intersection. A car behind my wife slammed into them. There's no service for about 20 minutes. So my wife kept driving to like call 911. She then did like wait for ambulances to show up, et cetera. But somebody did die in that accident all because somebody was driving quite irresponsibly on public roads. Don't. Other people's lives are legitimately at risk as a result of your actions. So just don't do that. Find the track. Go to track day. Learn how to drive more effectively. Don't use public roads as your experimentation. In California, we see it a lot. Like people go to the Canyons in particular and across the double yellows, which is a big no-no. Go out and enjoy the roads and have fun, but like... Do a reverse. Dude, if you see that 458 that crossed the double yellow at the tail of the dragon. Someone posted on Instagram. A U-Haul. A classic 458. Meaning they are so young, they think a 458 is a classic car. I'm like, oh my God, I feel so old. However yet, it slammed into a U-Haul. It was entirely the Ferrari driver's fault. Just don't do that on public roads. It's not just your life at risk. Be mindful that there's other people that are also needing to get places that are driving. Don't want to put them down. Have fun, be responsible. Important PSA, don't die. Don't die. Thank you. Resolve in the way of your car hobby if you die. And also if you kill somebody, it is bad. Yeah, that's... Don't do that. Then you need to buy an Aston Martin garage for the family that was affected. Well, speaking of buying and selling cars, we now move on to the market report. Which is brought to you this week by... By the Aston Martin garage. By the Aston Martin garage. That's currently locked on cars and bits. Exactly, it's currently locked on cars and bits. Felipe, you had some thoughts on that. I can't believe that transition. I got a reflection on that transition. I tried to get it out of there as quickly as I could and I think I saved it like that four-five-eight driver couldn't. Ooh, nice. All right, pull up. We sold the V70R recently. That is, I think, one of the... That's a Felipe car. I know. Oh, it's such a Felipe car. That has to be the highest... Highest of the V70R result that we've had. I think it's higher than any other public auction one too. It was not a super low mile long, but it was an incredible spec. Yeah, a flat screen over at a comma, which is that it's like wild green, blue over... I don't know what... Orange, just brown. It's with the Spaceball 6-speed manual. It is like the V70R that you would want. It's the right color combination if you're an insane human who likes insane color combinations. It's a manual. It's really special. This is a high-ish mile car. Scroll down. 140,000 miles. It has some mods, but it's still got an insane result because the right spec matters. Regular V70Rs, automatic ones, are not worth much. Correctly so, for being honest. But the right one really, really, really is. And clearly the market is continuing to reward these. This is the highest result that I've seen. Clearly there's still a lot of interest in these cars, and these, I think, will continue to appreciate it. Imagine, I mean, seeing this as one where you take a picture, or you send it to the whole group. 100. It gives you unanimous... I would get out of my... Everyone either thumbs up or hearts it. That is... I would get out of my car to check if there was... I would stop in traffic, get out of my car to check if there's a 60-mile car. Do you think the guy is still... I mean, they're Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, it looks like, on this thing. Do you think when he puts the tires on, it's like, ah, these are so expensive, this car isn't worth much, and was rewarded? I'll be honest. I think he did. Okay, I think this is a car, it is a if-you-know-you-know car. But I wouldn't imagine many of these are in non-enthusiast hands at this point in time. Especially in that color, because normally you would not want that color. The space ball, so you've ever driven a space ball? No. I've driven a bunch of V70, no V70 yards. Ah, well, you have to... We have to find one for you. We gotta find a V70 on, because that's... If we had a flash Korean over at a comma V70 yard in this office, I would have, it would be the best day of my life. I'll see if I can make that happen. Sorry, it's my wife and her wedding day. Yeah, that's gonna say, that's Saturday. That's Saturday. Exactly. We'll see if we can make that happen. It went for more than a repeat. Yeah. And honestly, I'd rather have those than a repeat. And that says a lot, and do now all of a sudden kind of want to repeat, in case I ever need to bribe somebody. Right, yeah. I don't think this will get you out of political turmoil as effectively. But it would for me. If I create political turmoil for a politician, and then he could give me a car, this is not about... Because when I think of you, turmoil, is the word I think comes to mind. Also, I can't be bribed, so. Right, you couldn't bribe him with a cookie, if you wanted to. He won't accept it. He will accept lettuce, though. He does like that, so. Actually, that's how he gets you. Different kind of cream. All right, move on. People can't be bribed, and that expel read there was absolutely not compensated for, right? No, only an expel tent. And I legitimately have been joining it. Yeah, yeah. I wanted to talk about this car. So we sold a Dodge Viper ACR extreme recently. Now, Viper's been kind of a weird spot recently. Like we had this GTS that was bid to the 85,500, which fell a little low, honestly. Which is a deal, yeah, it's... I did not realize that any... We usually, there's not that many fiftians. Not that many fiftians. Most of the ones that we sell are really quite nice. Or like the Viper TA, the track attack, or the ACR. That is interesting. But yes, I thought that GTS result was interesting. But this underscores how high the Viper goes. I don't think people fully understand that the later edition ACRs are $300 plus thousand. I mean, it's more than your mercy. It's pretty impressive. Now, of course, it was the end of the line for the... We don't know what's the worst that we're just gonna sell for. Currently, it's more than your mercy. I'm hoping for that number, but I'm not getting my hopes up too. I will say, this is the highest ACR extreme result that I've seen. Sorry, there was one higher one, but it had 386 miles. Same. Now, of course, this goes right to the color. This is Striker Purple, which is a really incredible looking purple. And it was a one owner car, 8,000 miles, that sort of stuff. But I kind of forgotten how expensive these cars are. They are very highly sold after, which again, further underscores how much of a value like the third gen is to me. We sold a friend of Carson Bids, Steve, we sold his Viper for 50 grand, which I thought was a very strong result for a third gen. But even so, I still thought this is very cool. I'm happy that the fifth gen's are worth so much, especially the ACRs. If you're looking for value, I really think the third gen, like really, really, really consider it. That purple one too, I have to say, anytime someone posts a garage like that, you just kind of like, you know, you know it was kept well. This is a deal to be clear. You know you're buying from a reasonable person, but that garage is incredible. I know you do. Clean, epoxy on the ground. You're like, They're actually a storage facility, just so you know. Oh, a storage, yeah. The who helps their clients sell cars. There was one, legitimately, this is one of the highest ACR sales. I did see one that was more, but that had under 500 miles. When I was... Clearly, they're being, I'm glad the fifth gen, that's an insane car. Just plainly an insane car. I'm glad people are appreciating it. And using it. There's nothing like it. We very likely will not see a car like this again. 8.4 liter NAV 10. Largest engine put in a car since World War II. But an automobile, like a car car, not like it. Is that real? Are you making that up? No, that's true. The largest displacement engine put in a car since the Second World War. Wow. What happened in World War II? All right. All right. Blimey in with regard to engines. You know what, Nick, open the book. Oh, oh, oh. Open the book. I just got a bad leg cramp. Yeah, God, you really are about to turn 41. Hey, don't out my age. Can we talk about the RS4 Avant that we've owned? Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's on my list. I know, I'm with you on it. Deep Nick vehicle. Frothing. Oh, B7 RS4. Famously, the RS4 Avant was not sold for the North American market. It was sold in Europe and other parts of the world, but not here. This one is brought over, it's in Canada currently, because I believe it's what, 15 years? Yeah, yeah, yeah, it can't be imported yet. Lucky to have it. Yeah, so it can't be brought into the United States, but look at that. I mean, this is- It's perfect. It's the one. This is exactly the one you want. Sprint blue, right? Is that the name of the color? Sprint blue. This is just so cool. Man, when these are importable, you really should consider it. I'm considering converting one, because I won it so badly. I also just kind of wonder, could you find the right day at a DMV where they just don't really know- I'm not advocating for this, because it is illegal, but you absolutely could get this. This feels like a victimless crime you could get away with, or get someone an Aston Martin garage, if you could call. There is no doubt you could get this titled. It would not be here legally, the feds could impound it at literally any moment, and take it from you. I want to be very clear. You should not do this. Nobody should do this. On the most listen to automotive podcast on the internet. You should not do this. Do I think you could get away with it? Yeah, of course. I think you probably could, for some amount of time, you could. Now, don't do it, please, for a bunch of reasons. There are other things you could do. You could buy this on the country and register there, and you can bring it in for a certain period of time. It's a year or two years? I don't know exactly what it is, but it then does have to leave. It has to go back. It has to leave. You could in theory, but- And people have been doing this with R34s and such, before they're legally importable, but it'd be a lot of work. A lot of work. Or just build one. Or you could start a museum. What's stopping us from making this a museum? A lot. Wow. That's an interesting question. We could become the next lane motor museum. I know. They have the best cars. The San Diego Automotive Museum is walking distance from here, so let's partner up. Clap. That's true. I do know the curator over there. Regardless, such a cool car. Also, the only mods, thankfully, are KW Coilers, which is an acceptable mod on that car. Yeah, the DRC is known to leak a little bit. The Dynamic Ride Control, look at this, the Magnetic Ride. And the head unit, which is a reasonable one. Like this is the one. Sprint blue, blue interior. There's been a few that I've seen come for sale in Canada. Obviously, even getting it to Canada with 15 years, it's technically legal, but it's not a common thing to do. No. And a lot of the ones you do see end up getting pretty modified by like a hardcore Audi VW people, so it is nice to see one- Where are people? I'm a less it in the right spec. I was in Toronto a couple of weeks ago for a wedding, and I spend the entire time looking for rare JDM cars that had been imported there that aren't legal for us yet. I saw none. I'm not surprised. There were a lot of cars that were only sold in, that were not sold in the US, but were sold in Canada, but those don't count. I'm not surprised. It's funny, I'm in like a bunch of RS4 groups, and there'll be people in like the UK and in Europe that are just parting them out for like minor accidents, because it's like a $15,000 car over there. And then we're all like, oh my gosh, I would like become a museum and pay off a politician to have this car here. It's crazy. If you buy, obviously you can't for another, this needs to be 25, right? Yeah. You can't for another eight years, but. 32 I think is. 2032. Yeah, I guess we're 2025. And then depending on the month, that's the whole thing. You can't for another six years. Once you do, I will buy an RS4 convertible to match it. What? All right. So the first conversion is the rarest RS4. That's right. I understand this. You're not getting one of them. I would. By then they'll be like four grand. We've sold a couple of RS4. They have held their value. Yeah, which is shocking because it's not. They're the rarest RS4. It's the rarest and also least desirable, but. They're the rarest RS4. Why did they build that? Go back to the one before that sold for $43,000. This was it. I mean, remember the A4 had a convertible, a two-door convertible as well. Look at that. It was just the thing they were doing. That's a $43,000 car apparently. Yeah. Well, this one was. A lot of them have like no miles of the convertibles were like you lived somewhere with inclement weather and like you wanted to extend your summer car a little bit into the fall and spring, but like it really wasn't like a daily. Six-feet manual, all-go-drive VA. It is cool. We saw one at Rotoblan. So that was, I haven't seen one in years, but it was, that is a very cool car. But we have to move it on. We have to move it on to questions. Questions, questions, questions. I'm going to take the questions. I'm going to read out the questions. Flipo's going to read the questions, but if you want to ask us a question, you go to the community tab, there'll be a post under this car pod. You click there and you can ask questions that Flipo, Nick, Doug, our producer, Sean, any of us, we will answer them and we have a lot of good questions. I want to be really transparent. Normally Doug selects the questions. He's gone this week. So our producer has selected a subset of questions and he has added a note next to one that says that you must do this in all caps. Is it about El Ferogeo? So we're going to find out. We're going to find out. It's about the tip for all. From Cardi Cards, rank your top five cars from the Fast and the Furious franchise. Okay. The Fast and the Furious franchise. The lightning, the Ford SVT lighting. Yeah, that's a great one. Put that out there. The Fierro, that goes to space. That happens, I think. I'll put the Super and the 355 together as a pair. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Deserved to be on there. The GLI you'll choose, the Jetta GLI. It is an icon. Is it a GLI or is it not a generation that had a GLI? It's a Mark Ford Jetta. I don't know what term. Yep. Tsuki's S2000. The R34 that Paul actually owned. The 3000 GT VR4 that I think is in the second one. Isn't there a 3000 GT VR4 convertible in the second one? I feel like there was. The charger from the Rida-Sanero thing. I've only seen the first one, so I can't really see it for the second. I think we've succeeded. No, we're just naming all the cars. We're naming all the cars. You're supposed to rank them, I believe, or pick the top five. I think I need to do some preparation. KK, can you, I don't have a list. How come the Lichen's not in your list? The what? The Lichen? It was a car, a lot of angles. I think if you buy it, like jumped over a vehicle. Oh, that car! The one that flew out of a building. And bully in for whatever reason, had one at one point that was like a. Wasn't it a shell or something? It didn't run. You guys saw the scene, right? It drove out of a building. Yeah, and do another building. Into another building. As you do. These are all real things. Everything that we've said, if you don't know the franchise, these are all real things that happen. The franchise has gotten exponentially worse each episode, but sales have also gotten exponentially higher. So perhaps I'm an outlier there. Yeah. There's also, was it two or three, that it was the Evo and then the Eclipse? Yeah, that was two. It was like the bad Eclipse. Like that was a tough one. But the Evo was good. There was a Selenus. There was a Viper, there was a third gen Viper in the second movie. The Selenus 281 Hollywood edition, that got crushed by two SUV, or semi trucks at the beginning. Nice. There's been a lot of good cars. They're having, I have seen all the movies, incredibly. Wow. My wife and I went through a thing of watching all of them over the course of like six months or a year. But only the first three stick in my mind. And the fifth one, the fifth one I consider to be maybe the best one. They steal a safe out of a police department in Brazil. It's pretty good, but then again, people steal some stuff from the Louvre this week. So it was a little more. There's also a Volkswagen Tuareg in that one. And that's a pretty good car. Yeah. I don't know why I haven't watched them. I just, you haven't seen any of them? This is the first one. You need to watch the second, the third, the fifth. Second, the third, the fifth. And then the seventh, because the car drives out of a building to another building. When Paul passed that he drives a white Supra as the roads depart, I cried in that, literally in the theater, but like that. With all of that, with Charlie Puth song. Definitely gotta be number one. I think the Supra has to be number one. If you're gonna pick, I don't, this doesn't really answer the question, but you're gonna pick one. I think the Supra. It's Supra and Skyline, because it really brought the import tuner culture to the mainstream. Totally. Really did. Supra and Skylines are popular because of that movie. Influential wise, I do agree. The Mark 4 Jetta is like oddly recognizable. Frankie Munez bought it famously after and had his. Do you have either race car driven or? Yeah. Oh yeah. And NASCAR, right? Or maybe Sprint, I think the Sprint Cup series. Yeah. Funny enough, speaking of bachelor parties, my wife was at a bachelorette party in Arizona. He was dining there with his crew and he paid for the entire party's meal. Just like no barely eye contact. Like he said, congratulations. I bought your, and it was like 15 girls, like all eaten dinner at some fancy restaurant. By the way, was it Mark 3 Jetta? Mark 3, thank you. Yeah, so he's like a real good guy. I can't believe you had the wrong generation for a Volkswagen Audi product. I'm more of an Audi guy. It happens, sometimes people make mistakes. It's okay, give us another question. Yeah, can I give you a different one? Yeah, absolutely. Next question from Dubber Duck. I know that most of you are married. Nick and I are, Ken and maybe proposing soon. If you were hypothetically single, which cars would be a serious red flag if they were owned by a potential partner? Also, if you were giving advice to a female friend looking for a partner, what cars that a car guy might own would be red flags? Cars that someone owned were a red flag. I think for me, there's a lot of cars that are bad cars that people might own. They're not three red flags because they may have made sense at that time. Now, if they modified cars in like a horrible way that I don't like, that would be a bit of a red flag. A busy 4X. No, that's not a red flag. I would question their responsibility. I would question their decision making. I would question a lot of things. So it's like a, yeah, it's a red flag. Good point. Yeah, yeah. Isn't that what that means? If you just buy a bad car, when you had better options, that's a little bit of a red flag about your ability to be a responsible human. Right, let's, what other? There's a lot of cars that I would tell if a female friend was starting today somebody that would be like, are you sure? Are you sure? No, any. Well, there's some good Nissan's. Any modified M4. Yeah, slam. You know what, that. But then, see, then someone is kind of interested in cars. I don't think we would agree on a lot of things. A modified M4. A 4 Series, fine. An M4, maybe fine. A modified M4 competition, not fine. Or you could warm up like Emily and get an M3 CRT. If you have an M3 CRT, that's a green flag. Yeah, that's a very green flag. I'll answer this in a way that won't be controversial and get cut and then have to be re-filmed, hypothetically speaking. In that, and I've talked to my wife about this before, I don't expect my partner to be in the cars or have good taste in cars, or like they can be car agnostic. So really I wouldn't judge or care what car they drove. As long as they're cool with me having a car hobby, like they could have a cooler car than me. They could have a Prius. I wouldn't really care too much. I would maybe be worried about if they had a car that was like extremely high maintenance in a way that like a G-wagon kind of vibe of like, I want to be like a Kardashian. Like a materialistic person. G-wagon. Like for you, yeah. That new Maybach convertible that has the Maybach logo is on the hood, like that would scare me. I would marry somebody that has that car. That's true, they would be wealthy. They would be wealthy. Yeah, but they, the salary would be really beneficial. Yes, and then, yeah, but then you have to go through a divorce because it's going to happen inevitably. But then you might get something out of it. Of course you would look at the financial. I do think to that point, if somebody made a decision, the cars for most people are just like a financial decision. It's the second largest purchase you make other than your house. Right, probably. If somebody made like a really irresponsible decision, a BZ4X is on that line. But like if they're like incredibly underwater on a, they bought a bunch of Jeep liberties and kept trading them in and kept being more underwater and then out of finance at 30%. That's a bit of a red flag because I worry about their financial rabbits. Right, now owning a Jeep liberty on its own might just be that you're from the Midwest, you know, like the Pence. Yeah, now, so on the flip side of things, for like, I do have friends or women who are single, if they guys, if they're dangling these into cars and they find out what car it is, there are certain ones that I'm a little nervous about. Any challenge. Wow. Mustache. I don't know. Camaros, like Camaros are kind of a red flag. I stay by M4 comps that are modern. M4 comp is actually a pretty good baseline. That's a pretty good one. Anything that, I will say, if they, if like he's interested in cars and I ask him a question about cars and the guy doesn't know anything, like you can tell, you can tell when someone doesn't actually know anything about cars. That to me is more of a red flag. If you fake badged or up badged your car, red flag. Good up badging. A drift charm hanging from your rear tow hook, red flag. Missing your front tow hook cover. Red flag. Hypothetically, red flag. Red flag, yeah. They fall out and can be easily. Miss matched hubcaps. Oh, that's for a car that has miss matched tires. Oh, sure. They just kind of indicates that you're not attentive. Your lack of detail person. And I don't have any tolerance for that. All of my single friends that drive Ferrari 360s are a little questionable, but that's specific to me, I think. That might be specific to you. Yeah. I don't know. I think something in there like that, yeah, speaks to either their materialism or you can extrapolate something more on their personality. If you've wrapped your car gold or chrome. A wrap. A wrap. Or like any kind of like, bass boat level finish. Unless it's really good. You've been to Arizona? Also if you have a bass boat, that's maybe a pro. Yeah. We love all cars and that is factoring. It's a little bit more about what does that say about your design. I don't love all cars. Not everybody loves all cars. That's just a fact. You hate expensive cars. I don't particularly like inexpensive cars. That's an interesting point. If you drive a Huracan, if your friend is just like meeting somebody that drives like a Huracan. Well, as long as it's not like for like, oh, it's a Chase Comas. I think we're okay. Like, you know, McLean's and other Huracans are. Yeah. All right. I don't know. Ultimately it comes down more to the person themselves less about the car that they drive or it should. Yeah. The, a Dooli, I think is a good sign. It's a big sign. Yeah. Pick and haul things. Yup. What about like a Carolina squad? Oh, that's right. Yeah. That's a bad sign. Bad sign. All right. Moving on to a question from Bear at the Control 7. You just heisted priceless jewels from a major European museum, which has maybe happened this week. What are you picking as you could get a way car? Oh. Could you need it to be quick, maneuverable, but also maybe discreet? Do you want it to be discreet? Definitely. You want it to blend in. This country, it'd be a Tesla of some kind. Oh. A Gisillion Model 3s. That's a great point. Cause they fly out of the radar, they're silent, they're fast. Yes. And in Southern California, nobody pays attention to a Model 3. You can get a white Model 3, cause they are everywhere. It's not bad. Except they don't, yeah. Isn't this the plot of the Italian job? It's a plot of every, it's oceans 13. The Italian job, they were stealing money from a guy's house. And he, for what it's worth, had a Nasser Martin V12. I was guessing it was oceans 12. They stole the Faberge egg, I think. Almost really somewhere. But in Europe, we'll choose some kind of small hatchback. It's France, it's Paris. Everybody drives small hatchbacks. I'd say a Waymo, cause it can't narc on you. But it can, there's cameras on the inside, there's cameras on the outside, it won't go around, emergency vehicles. If you're gonna pick the worst one, that is the worst. Nick's getting caught, is what's gonna happen. If you hypothetically stole a priceless jewel and sold it, what would you buy? What would be the sign? Cause the question at the end of the Italian job, excellent movie by the way, is what do you like? Original or the remake? The remake. Both. Original, also good. They drive around Fiat's test track, top of a building, I can you not love it. Yeah. What, the question is like, what do you spend that money on? What would you, what would be the telltale sign that you stole a ton of money? You already own the mercy. But it's just for some people, the telltale sign. You don't own another one. What's the, it would definitely be all cars. It'd be all cars, he'd have a V. What is the one car that you would drive? Yeah, I think of V. V is probably, for me a V and a 50 of course, but I think that the V is probably the one for him, but not that I would steal the priceless item of return to the people of France where it belongs. I would of course just invest it responsibly. You invest for a FOV. Well done. Wild, the IRS would be looking at you. All right, the second question from Bayer, the Control 7. Which automaker that currently doesn't offer any enthusiast oriented models, do you think is best positioned to launch one? There's not many left, is there? Who doesn't make a performance car that should? Toyota makes a Supra, Honda doesn't make the S2000 anymore. The Civic Type R though. I'll say Mitsubishi had a great history of making very high performance, very cool cars. They were killing it in the 90s and early 2000s and it is all gone now. What do they make these days? I'm really excited for the Clips Cross. They needed a whole new car. The VR4. I'll go for like, when turbo charging became more popular and we were losing the naturally aspirated engines and that was the way things were skewed. I mean, this was like, early 2000s, late knots. I really felt that that was the time that if Buick wanted to bring back a Grand National, they should have. And that would have been cool. Buick is a good answer to this. Although they only make SUVs now. They only make SUVs now, but if you work, I mean, the Grand National is so damn cool. And they weren't a performance focused company, but if they were going to do one, to bring back the Grand National, that'd be cool. Or bring back the Evo. Yeah. I do think it's a Honda to your point. It does make the Civic Type R. And that's an enthusiast car. But that's the only one I can think of that Honda makes. And I think that every other automaker, every premium automaker certainly, has realized that you can make a lot of money by selling like M Sport or AMG, whatever they call it. Or S Line or whatever. Why hasn't Honda like remade sporty-ish products? Like they could, they would sell well with a, with an Accord Sporty, with a CR-V red line. They respect the purity. They don't need to do an ST, you know, like a... They respect the purity. They even, okay, Toyota, we talked about this a few months ago, now has the next generation RAV4 has a GR model, that has a suspension system by GR. First drives were out today. I'm incredibly sad that I wasn't in Phoenix review and that I wanted to, legitimately, I've already had a fight today. No, pull it up. The RAV4 GR. I don't, okay. Even they're making a, their compact SUV, which is a plug-in hybrid, 320 something horsepower, they're making a sporty version of it, that is apparently quite decent. Yeah, but... Like why doesn't Honda making it be sporty? But you are talking about something we all bemoan. Yeah, I know, I don't want that. I don't want to shut up. I'm sick of seeing M Badges. Find me, go into a BMW dealership, find me a BMW that does not have an M Badge on it. They all have it even if they're not M cars. It's very annoying. The Alpina, the Alpina XP7. I'll bet there's an M Badge somewhere. But like, it's just, I just, I don't like this person. Because in my opinion, like I like, it's like, get the special car. Like, honestly, it takes time, get a used one, something like that, if you want it. Like, just save and get the special car. Like that's kind of my view on it. I hate when companies water down these special brands. I understand that they're making it more accessible, but the reality of it is, is like, an M3 is an M3 and an M Sport is like, just not. I don't know, you know, how fast a 340 IM Sport is? I know it's fast, but the M3 is faster and it's an M3. It's the real deal. But clearly the market does want some sportiness. And if automakers build slightly sportier versions of interesting cars or cars generally, that makes it a little bit interesting. Yeah, I liked when BMW did the IS thing though. If I'm gonna make the BMW comparison, I liked when they did that. I thought that was a little bit. Too discreet, you need more M Badges. Well, I like discretion. All right, I will say, I interpreted the question, I mean, an actual sports car rather than an enthusiast trim. And my answer was gonna be Cadillac. They need the XLRV. They make the CD4V Black one. They make the CD5V Black one. A sports car to me has two doors. Got it, got it. Maybe a small but unusable rear seat. So if we had the CN or the XLRV, something like they need the C8 Corvette Cadillac version, I think it would sell well. I agree. I think it's a no brainer. They've already done all the development. Give me a mid-engine Cadillac. I'm interested. I agree. You know what would be nice? Ferrari made a good sports car. All right. Yeah, nothing you wouldn't know. They've made great sports cars. I'm joking, I'm joking, I'm joking. All right. One more question. One more question. Honest question. Okay. This is a question from Just Josh and you. This person wants specifically your opinions. Oh boy. They want, what are some of your automotive opinions that you feel more comfortable sharing without Doug here? I feel like with the, I enjoy pushing Doug's buttons. So I don't hold them back. And I feel like Roof is an automotive manufacturer. We already talked about mods are good to talk about. I enjoy making them upset. So I don't know if I've held any back. What else do I have? Is there a car that he loves that you hate? Oh, but we would know about it. You're right. Doug and I have pretty similar tastes like the Bentley Dominator, Diablo. Yeah. I said no more hot things. Oh, actually yes. Although again, I've argued with Doug to it. Doug thinks the Diablo 6.0 is the ugly or the bad version of the Diablo. I consider it to be the Grail. And like, yes, I like all the Diablos, but I think the 6.0 is the most beautiful and aesthetically pleasing inside and out. And Doug feels strongly that the early Diablos are the Diablos. I think it's like the Kuntashe. He was trying to say this is like the 25th anniversary. Kuntashe is to the Periscopo. I think the 6.0, maybe it was just like I was of the right age where I was certainly like most impressionable, but I love the Nissan headlights. The interior no longer looks like a kit car. It looks like a real car. I put real engineering into it too. I mean, the interior got two inches wider. Like I've driven both. Of course you have. I've driven an SV and I've driven a 6.0 and a Sunset Edition. But I counted, they're on my list. Did it get a six speed too, or is it still a five speed? It's still a five speed, all the way through is a five speed. But it's got a six liter engine. I mean, anytime you get more display, it's generally better too. I liked the way the Rero Drive cars drive better. I liked the earlier car better. I have to say. And I also like, I think that I actually agree with him that I think that like, I like the pop up headlight cars. Like I just, they're more classic to me, but I understand why you like this because it's a transition between this and the Mercy. And this is what you remember when you were that age and like the internet was something you could have started seeing cars like this and like this one is cemented in your memory. It's so legit. And it is, it doesn't matter if it's a later car or an early car, any Diablo to me is damn cool. The other Doug Hot Take that I think is objectively wrong is he's obsessive about license plates. Oh, you don't agree. And he feels that having license plates from a certain state are a detractor to the overall driving experience. I celebrate all 50 states. Especially ones to the north that have no sales tax and emissions. I love the line, I celebrate all states. He doesn't know where they are, but he celebrates them. No, I know where Montana's next to Wyoming. Yeah. If we were talking about Montana, which maybe we are, maybe we aren't. Of course, next week we don't know what car I'm gonna get next. We don't know where I'm gonna register. Of course, next week you will get to hear more of Nick's opinions. I will be gone for the next three weeks, incredible, I'm very sad. Wow. But you will instead of my place get Nick and you'll get Nick and Doug together. So that's gonna be a, I'm sorry. Do I have to take on your takes? Yes, you do actually. Well, Felipe. You must talk about CEOs, you must talk about EVs. I will invest wisely. Thank you. And if someone suggests this exciting car, how do you go, I don't know. That's it. In the meantime, make sure to check out my Astramar and Verage video. Make sure to also check out Nick's channel, youtube.com slash Nick Roshan. Yeah. And thank you for watching. What is this? This is the, what? This is the best podcast we've ever done. Best one. Ken and Settit. Yep. Thank you for watching. We'll talk to you next time. Goodbye. Goodbye.
