Hey grownups, before we start the show, if your little one enjoys listening, please consider liking, sharing and telling a friend. It helps us reach more families. Thank you so much. Hello there dreamer, I'm Derek. Welcome to Little Sleepers, Big Dreamers. Tonight we meet Simon and a seagull who has different feelings on different days. A story about noticing how we feel and learning ways to look after our minds and bodies. Before we start our story, let's get calm and relaxed. Take a slow breath through your nose and gently blow it out through your mouth. Let your body feel comfortable. Another slow breath in and out. Lovely. Our story tonight is Simon and the seagull. Simon loved going to the beach. He liked the sound of the waves, the feeling of the sand under his feet and watching the birds fly above the sea. One morning, Simon met a seagull standing on a post. The seagull flapped his wings and laughed. Hello he called. I'm Gulliver and today is a great day. Simon laughed too. They watched the boats, they counted clouds, they felt happy. The next day, Simon went back to the beach. Gulliver was there again but this time he looked different. His wings drooped. He didn't laugh. Hello Simon said gently. Gulliver sighed. I don't feel very bright today he said. Simon sat down beside him. That happens sometimes, even when nothing is wrong. Gulliver nodded. I feel a bit wobbly inside he said. Simon thought for a moment. When I feel like that he said. I like to do things that help me feel better. Like what? Gulliver asked. Simon smiled. Well, sometimes I draw a picture. It helps my mind feel calm so Simon drew shapes in the sand and Gulliver watched. That looks so nice. Gulliver said, sometimes I go for a walk. Simon added, moving my body helps. They walk slowly along the beach. The wind felt cool. The sea felt steady. And sometimes Simon said, I take a deep breath. Simon showed him in. And out. Gulliver tried to in. And out. And out. And out. His wings lifted just a little. I feel better, he said. Simon smiled. We all have wobbly days. But it's important to look after our minds and our bodies. Thank you, he said. I think tomorrow might feel different. Simon waved as Gulliver flew off towards the sea. And dreamer, remember, we all have wobbled sometimes. It's OK to notice how we feel. And it's important to look after our minds and our bodies. It's time to relax even more. Take a breath in. And gently breathe out. Take a breath. Take a breath. Take a breath. Take a breath. Take a breath. Take a breath. Take a breath. Take a breath. Take a breath. I can do things that help me feel better. I can take a deep breath. I am learning every day. And three more before sleep. I am safe. I am cared for. I am loved. Good night, Dreamer. May your dreams be filled with calm thoughts and peaceful rest. Dreamer. Dreamer. Dreamer. Dreamer. Dreamer. Dreamer. Dreamer. Dreamer. Dreamer. Dreamer. Dreamer. Dreamer. Dreamer. Dreamer.
