•Feb 9, 20262 months agoSummary
This Valentine's Day special episode features interviews with the significant others of the three hosts: Melissa (Cliff's wife), Emily (Matt Pruitt's wife), and Corita (Bobo's girlfriend). The women discuss how they met their partners, their experiences with Sasquatch research, their beliefs in cryptids and unexplained phenomena, and the dynamics of relationships with men devoted to Bigfoot investigation.
Insights
- Partners of Sasquatch researchers must balance support for their partners' passion with acceptance of unpredictable schedules and field expeditions that often take priority over planned activities
- Participation in field research can strengthen relationships and create shared experiences, though comfort levels vary significantly among partners regarding overnight camping and off-trail adventures
- Sasquatch activity appears anecdotally higher when primary researchers are absent from their homes, suggesting potential behavioral patterns worth investigating
- The Sasquatch research community attracts individuals with broader open-mindedness toward unexplained phenomena including UFOs, ghosts, and other cryptids
- Long-term commitment to niche research requires partners who either share the passion or actively choose to support it despite skepticism about the subject matter

And please enjoy this first conversation with the significant others. Hey, Squatchcateers. Welcome to Beyond Bigfoot and Beyond with Cliff and Bobo and lots and lots of special guests this week. This is something that I know I've been looking forward to and Bobo has not been looking forward to. And of course, I think Pruitt has also been looking forward to it because we have very little to fear. But Bobo, on the other hand, this is your day, man. Meet the Reaper. this is our Valentine's Day special. All of our members already know about this. And we have our significant others with us. Of course, I have Melissa sitting next to me. And Emily, Matt's wife, is sitting next to her. And Corita, Bobo's significant other, is next to him. The Valentine's Day Massacre. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. This is going to be a lot of fun, I think, for everybody. And of course, the gist of this one is that we put it out to you, our members, our beautiful, fantastic members, to submit questions. for the ladies to answer. And so Bobo, Matt, and I are just going to sit by and watch the carnage and probably not say very much because why would we talk if we have these beautiful women to talk for us? So there you go. Bob, do you have any last words? I'm going to have to mansplain some stuff, I'm sure. Probably, probably. All right, Matt, do you have any last words before we jump in here? Let the bloodbath ensue. Okay, so Matt Pruitt, what are the rules? What's the format here? What are we doing? Well, since the first question is sort of an introductory question, let's do this like roundtable style. And then that way the listeners can get a familiarity with the three voices and that way they can distinguish as they're listening. And so the first question is, how did you first meet? And did you know that he was into the Sasquatch before or after the first date? So let's toss that to Melissa first. Hi. I knew that Cliff was involved in Bigfoot because I got a job working production on the show. So I knew that he was really into the subject, and I thought that was interesting, and I was along for the ride. How about you, Karita? How'd you meet Bobo? I met Bobo at a wedding. I knew something was around that because our friend who I'm friends with now, Owlboy, I think he was dressed in a Bigfoot costume at this wedding. That's where we met. And I think our friends had told me he was a Bigfoot person. Now I have to ask if Bobo had a pickup line and if so, what it was. Bobo kind of really did have a pickup line. So we met at this wedding and the wedding party went and stayed the night in this big, huge mansion afterwards. And he was there and he told me that the mansion was haunted and that if I got scared, I could sleep in the room with him. There was room for me in there. I pointed it up pretty hard. I was like, oh, yeah, I talked to the caretaker. There's a really scary... She was talking about ghosts and how afraid of ghosts she was. I was like, oh, this place is super haunted. Well, it worked out pretty well, Bubz. Good job. Well, I didn't sleep with him. No. But I did take him up on the foot rub. And Emily, you want to tell the audience how we met? Yeah, so I was already into Sasquatch research, and I was already a fan of Finding Bigfoot. And I saw at the end of one of the shows that you could sign up for a public BFRO expedition And so I did. And Matt was the leader of the expedition that I signed up for. So that's how we met. The Mighty Matt Moneymaker or Matt Pruitt? Matt Pruitt. She came on one of my expeditions and then later was at your guys' East Tennessee filming, like the Knoxville one with Tim Burchett and all that. Yeah. I was going to say we met on the expedition because he was the leader of the expedition that I went on. But it wasn't like sparks flew right away because I thought he was pretty hard to get to know. I remember trying to tell some jokes and he didn't laugh like at all because I think he was like really professional and serious about the leadership of the expedition. So at first I thought he wasn't cool. Yeah. Her words to me later was that she thought I had no personality and no capacity for humor. Nailed it. So we could toss back to Melissa too. Was there eventually a pickup line? Was Cliff making any moves? No. I thought he was just really helpful and like my buddy because he was helping me carry water and helping me do these little menial tasks around set. And I remember telling my mom on the phone when I'd call back, you know, because I was awake for five weeks. And I'd say, oh, this guy is like really helpful. And you'd really like him. And he's such a friendly guy. I had no idea he was interested in anything in me. That's because I have no game. But you do. But it's like sweet. It's subtle. It's subtle. Melissa got hit off by all four members of the cast. She just didn't realize it. The first time I met Moneymaker, he told me I had a mushroom in my teeth. It was right. I did. I had a big old nasty mushroom. So I don't think he was hitting on me. Amazing. That's his pickup line. Something in your teeth. Let me get it out. There's something in the woods. There's something in your teeth. I do think there's a shroom in those teeth. There's something in your teeth. All right. So another listener asks, what's the craziest date or adventure that your guy has ever taken you on? So we start with Corita. Is there one that comes to mind? Oh, gee. Everywhere I've taken her, she doesn't like. I just really have to think about it. We can come back to you. Is there one that comes to mind for you, Melissa? I mean, there's like a couple. There's not just one, but it's like when he's like, let's go have a day date and do something fun in the woods. And I'm thinking nice paved roads at our level, like nice day, maybe bring a picnic. And then we end up off trail down, you know, a cliff in a bog with our mud boots sinking in a swamp. and then I get pissy. You know, I do. I get pissy whenever there's like mud and danger, you know? So sometimes I'm like, oh, I was thinking it was going to be this, but then it's always something else. And it's still like a nice way to spend time together. But sometimes you just want to like frolic instead of like sink in mud. What about you, Emily? I mean, we've done a lot of driving around looking for sightings and scouting out habitats and stuff like that. camping in super creepy habitats in the middle of nowhere, different things like that, which for the most part I enjoy. Well, there was a time, you know, I did take you on a pretty gnarly backpacking trip where we went way down in that gnarly ravine off trail for a couple of nights. Yeah. That was pretty intense. And then a few years ago, I took you to Area X, which was a celebration of you getting your MBA. We got to go to Area X and we brought our chihuahua. Rest in peace. Is there one that came to mind, Corita? I mean, I would just have to second. It's the whole, we're going camping, but we're really not going camping. It's a Bigfoot that all of a sudden I'm on. And also the date, the picnic, I totally identified with what Mel was saying because a picnic is really just a lure. it's it is a bigfoot looking for bigfoot and scary off-roading like i feel like we're gonna go over the edge all the time absolutely you know what i just thought about when i was sitting here i was like i did remember one time we were in california visiting convict lake with his brother and i remember his brother now he's not a camper and and they had this like beautiful cottage with like a stone shower and they had a nice toilet. And then we went to dinner and it was about 930. And we said, well, we got to go try to find somewhere to camp. And I'm thinking, oh, they have a cabin with like a shower. And then we're driving up this mountain, traversing side to side. It gets so rugged by the time we reach the top that it's super dangerous. So Cliff decides to turn around. And then as we turn around and start heading back down this huge Mountain. It's like 11. And there's like a car sitting at the bottom. And it was so scary. And I convinced us that we're going to get murdered by the time I got back there, like down there. I said, they're probably going to shoot us. They're probably going to murder us and bury us in the ground. And Cliff was even freaked out, I think. Well, that's because you told me that we were going to be killed for about 25 minutes. Yeah, it was a long trip down. So we had a lot of wait time. Yeah, she made up this story about cartels and drug runners and how national, they're probably growing weed out here and how we're in mortal danger. And she was watching a lot of Breaking Bad at the time as well. So that really affected the way she thought. So, yeah. Turns out that there were kids drinking. Yeah, they were fine. But, yeah. Dude, that's so, Karina watches every murder show, like Discovery ID type stuff. And then that's what's on our mind when we go out there. But, you know, to be fair, one time we were, you took me out to the woods and we were boaty. And I don't know what you guys were doing out there. But then you guys said, okay, Karita, you have to wait in this field all by yourself. This is a dangerous field. Lay down, hide in the grass if you need to. They left me out there, like, made me feel like a fawn that was left that had to lay down, hide from the predators. Do you remember that? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's where I found that 13-inch print that was, like, punch-holed through the embankment coming out of, like, I found that swamp highway deep in the brush. It was, like, those, I forget the name of those bushes, but they hollowed out on the inside of these big paths, like, eight foot high, four foot wide. were just snapped out all the way through this, went through this big marsh area There had been a couple of people killed up there not too long before that so and there was there was sketchy dudes out there that why i got shot out by some dudes one time and so i just told her like yeah just just lay down and hide this other one we were i don't know we were in the i think the north for trinity like way above that we went way, way, way, like I felt like hours up this hill. And we, we went down this one logging road and we got stuck with the truck and the car, you know, and the truck was kind of, it looked as if it could go off this cliff. And he said, okay, now I want you to take my wallet, take your wallet take a jacket get out of the car I'm going to reverse but I could go down the hill and I could die and you might have to you might have to walk for miles and miles to get help you got a real Romeo there that's looking pretty good right now isn't it Melissa yeah maybe amazing stay tuned for more Bigfoot and Beyond with Cliff and Bobo. We'll be right back after these messages. Starting a business can be overwhelming. You're juggling multiple roles, designer, marketer, logistics manager, all while bringing your vision to life. Well, the next question from listeners is, I know this will probably be an easy one for Melissa so we can maybe let her go first since she's swimming in this stuff, but what is the most compelling evidence for Bigfoot that you've seen or been told about? So I guess maybe if there's one particular thing that's the most persuasive, I would guess that this listener is reaching for? That's a really good question. And yes, we've been, you know, just getting so much evidence in lately. You know, I'm trying to think like my favorite. You know, I gotta say, I am a real big fan of the Nutella cast. I think that's genius. I love Tom Shea. I think he's a great researcher. And I think maybe because I was, I got to recreate the jar and I got to see the cast up close and really work with it. I just think that was a really interesting and creative way to get some evidence. You know, out-of-the-box stuff is my favorite. I think that would be my answer. Very good. Emily, do you have a favorite piece of evidence? Sure. Just like living the Squatch life, I've heard and seen pretty much everything possible that comes out. But something that comes to mind is just recently, when we were up at Squatch Fest, we met three good witnesses, and then we got to go out and look at their sighting area, and we saw impressions and got to cast some impressions. So I'm going to say that one just because it was recent and it was the first time I got to see real impressions in the ground. So I'm going to go with that. Yeah, that's a good one. Emily and I have struck out like on the times that I've taken her in the field, haven't heard any vocalizations or anything like that. So that most recent episode that members heard about Cliff and I doing the on-site investigation there, that was Emily's first contact with like Sasquatch witnesses in the field and then evidence in the field. And so what about you, Karita? I would say that my most memorable. Okay, so we were up, I think, what was it called? Patrick's Creek? Patrick's Creek. All Smith River. All Smith River, yeah. And there was. We were below Monkey Ridge. I mean, we heard some screams that were just out of this world. Just totally out of this world. Coming towards us. I wanted to leave. I was like, what are we doing here? Let's go. that's why we were there i'll point out but and bobo was like take my wallet take my keys yeah right she was gonna leave me there and i was down like because dude they were coming down the mountain at us you could hear them getting closer and closer over like several minutes and somehow we were like way up this mountain this was during the time when i drove a chrysler LeBaron and we were in my Chrysler LeBaron way up this mountain. The ultimate Squatchmobile. Then you saw those tracks on the creek. I would say the knocking that we heard and the breathing. Oh, yeah. The breathing in Redwood Park. Yeah, correct. It came up in daylight and snuck up behind us and came up in the creek in full daylight. And we're in old growth redwood, so it's a little bit darker. But I mean, it was daylight. You could see fine. And all of a sudden, it started breathing heavy. And then it growled at her. And I didn't hear the breathing, but I heard the growl. And she got freaked out. But that's the thing we got all over. That's the right to her. I clapped once. It knocked once. I clapped twice. It knocked twice. You know, like back and forth, back and forth. That was the same day. Oh, that's awesome. This question, I think this is a great question. And this comes from a buddy of mine who's a member. And he asks to the three of you ladies, what advice would you give my wife, whose husband is just now starting to build his research equipment and planning to go out searching for Sasquatch? Advice. I mean, I think all three of us are pretty supportive and have those kind of relationships that we support one another and our interests and our passions. And I think just being, you know, excited and supportive. and realize, you know, she's going to have to realize that some nights, you know, he's going to be out in the field. And that might, especially if there's like a fresh track or a report or something, you might have to go and leave her. And you just have to be like totally down for that and be okay with that. And plans might change, but it's something that he loves and he's passionate about. And I know with us, I never really get mad or anything like that because if, you know, I like storms and if there's a really cool storm, I'm going to go out and try to get footage of it. So it's like the same thing that, you know, it's like my passion and his passion. I want to be supportive of his interests. What about you, Emily? I would say try to participate and get involved in it if you can, because you might be surprised. It can actually be a lot of fun and you might get to see some really beautiful places that you wouldn't otherwise get to see. So that could be a good way just to get involved in it. And even if you're not into it, I'd still say encourage him to get out and do it because there's a lot of worse hobbies he could have. So I would say just embrace it. Hear, hear. Yes. I hope everyone listening is paying attention to what she said. And what about you, Greta? The ladies really answered it. But, yeah, it's an adventure, you know. I'm just being open-minded and ready for an adventure. I like getting out there with Bobo. So I look forward to that. But she only likes men and trails. Yeah. Yeah, I've pushed my luck with that a few times with some off-trail things, and I don't think Emily loved it very much. So I'll let Emily answer this one first so I can rip off the Band-Aid. A listener asks, What is your guy's most endearing habit and, for the sake of balance, his most irritating habits? Okay, so my answer is the same for both. it's how anytime we interact with anybody, even if we're never going to see that person again, it could be like an Uber driver, a stranger sitting by us on the airplane, or like the guy changing our flat tire or a waiter, just anybody. He wants to bring up Sasquatch for that, to that person. And it's endearing because he's truly passionate and like really into it. So he really genuinely wants to talk about it 24-7 to anybody who will listen. But it can also be really irritating too because like, I mean, does like our realtor really need to know that we look for Bigfoot? I mean, sometimes it's crazy because then there's all these questions and half the people just think we're crazy. Either that or they might be genuinely interested and then it's going to be like an hour and a half conversation with questions and stuff. So my answer, that's my answer. I don't bring it up for if someone asks like, what do you do? The dentist did not ask you about Bigfoot. No, he saw the tattoo. And he was like, why do you have that tattoo? What am I going to say? Like, I'm just a huge fan of the Squatch. But anyway, obviously, all of our friends and family and people close to us in our life know about it. But sometimes it's not like I'm ashamed or need people's approval or anything. But sometimes it's just like, do these people really need to know? I'm a lifer. It's a lifestyle. What about you, Karina? Same question for our good man, Bo. Oh, geez. Okay, you know, he's like the nutty professor. It's like living with the nutty professor. Bobo, if he can lose something, he's going to lose it. Keys, wallet, but then he'll blame me. I'm about to lose my cool. For instance, one time he was looking for his keys. Oh, the keys went missing. The keys went missing. but really he left the keys in the under the, underneath the hood of the car. We didn't find them for a long time. And he lifted the hood of the car and they were under the hood of the car. I think Cliff and I and all our listeners would believe that wholeheartedly. Wallets and cupboards, stuff like that. And is that the endearing part or the irritating part? Well, being blamed is the irritating part. Being blamed for losing it, That's the irritating part. The endearing part is kind of like the nutty professor. You know, I mean, his mind is busy. It's busy on something else. I appreciate that. Excellent. And what about you, Melissa? Cliff's very endearing. And I think one of the best things about him is like his passion, you know, and not even just with our relationship. He's a passionate guy. And even though he's tired and sore because he's, you know, going down cliffs and standing in the mud. He still gets up in the morning focused. And I love that determination that he has that I sometimes do not have at all. But I really look up to him because he's so razor focused and loves what he's doing, even though it's exhausting. And then I would say like the kind of annoying thing is waking up with like a lot of ground litter in the bed, like just tons of sticks, pine cones, like inside the bed. Like, where did you come from? Like, it's just like our bed, his half of the bed was just full of like, like, it's like a squash bed. Emily's getting a huge kick out of it, by the way. Oh, that's funny. That sounds familiar to me. I mean, I, there's a trail of crumbs wherever, wherever Bobo goes. I'm, I know where he's been. There's chips on the floor. There's crackers on the floor. there's nuts on the floor. So I can backtrack. It's like a trail. So I don't get lost. He leaves his evidence. I once heard Bobo on a podcast and during the podcast, it wasn't ours, he was a guest on someone else's and he dropped a plate of food and he's like, hold on, let me go put a shirt over it. Oh boy. I love it. Absolutely love it. Stay tuned for more Bigfoot and Beyond with Cliff and Bobo. We'll be right back after these messages. starting a business can be overwhelming you're juggling multiple roles designer marketer logistics manager all while bringing your vision to life shopify helps millions of business sell online build fast with templates and ai descriptions and photos inventory and shipping Sign up for your one euro per month trial and start selling today at Shopify That's Shopify.nl. It's time to see what you can accomplish with Shopify by your side. And so I know we kind of touched on this a little bit, but another listener writes in, do the ladies go out on field expeditions very often? And if so, have you found that the chances of having Sasquatch activity are significantly higher when the women are with you? And so I guess that's a question for the ladies and the guys. And so maybe we start with, I don't know, Bobo and Karita, you want to start? Yeah, I've actually had more stuff happen with her there, like percentage-wise, yeah. But she doesn't do overnight stuff anymore like that with me. I mean, she's in a day, she's in a like going out day hike. I'm in like a night hike, but I want to come home. Right. Yeah. She wants to come home every night. She doesn't like to sleep out there. It's a good thing you have a trailer, Bobo. I love that thing. What about you, Melissa and Cliff? Do you guys find that the activity increases when Melissa's present? I think when Cliff leaves the house, there's tons of activity on the property. you know? Yeah. I mean, we don't, when I go camping with Melissa, I try to make Bigfoot a number two sort of thing. You know, I try to focus on just having fun out in the woods, like camping with my wife, you know, I bring a bottle of wine and play some music and that sort of stuff. And I'm not sure we've heard a lot on overnighters. I mean, since finding Bigfoot, at least. Yeah. Well, when I first moved out here, I got my first wood knock. I don't know where we were camping. Yeah. But you know, honestly, she gets a lot of activity here at the house when I'm not here. Like she's been scared inside the house several times. She's heard whoops and she's, she's even seen some weird, I mean, yeah, it seems that if I'm not home, she'll get stuff happening at the house. Yeah. That might be worth talking about. Cause I know that, you know, Cliff has brought that up before, but listeners might want to hear that like directly from you, Melissa, if you have an anecdote or two. I remember this, one of the first things that happened to me and I, he keeps a diary of all the, you know, what's happened around the house. I I don't know what year, what time of year, but I think it was fall. And he was away, but sometimes I forget because his car's here. And I was taking Sochi out in the front of the house. And we have wood surrounding our house. And she went wee-wee. And then, so what you need to know, whenever Cliff goes outside, he always used to do this. He doesn't so much now, but he used to whoop. He'd be whoop. He would do one of those outside every time. So I'm used to hearing that. So when I took Sochi outside to wee-wee, it was dark. It was nighttime. And I heard that from the tree line. And I thought, oh, it's Cliff, you know. And then I remembered he wasn't home and I freaked out. And so she was even zoning in, like she looked at that area, too. And then I just got her in the house, you know, things like that. And just just like I don't even know how to explain the noises around the tree line of the the apple grove over there. But it's almost like a it's like you can feel it inside your chest. It's such a weird situation, but that happened twice. Actually, last October, it happened here again to me and Cliff was away again. So it kind of does seem that he is away a lot of the times. I would say four or five times I've had some encounters or noises or whatever that I couldn't explain and they freaked me out and I would actually call him. And when he's on jobs, I usually don't call a lot. You know, I know he's busy, but I was actually petrified and he told me to turn the cameras on and I didn't want to. Yeah, I was just like, I don't want to see what's outside. Yeah, it's kind of like if there's a monster outside, do I really want to look at it? I don't know. I do and I don't, you know? You just like the fake ones. Yeah, the fake ones are fine, you know, because I know they're just full of foam and, you know, latex. What about you, Emily? Yeah, I like going out on the field expeditions during the day and even overnighters. But I'm more of like a one or two night camping person rather. I'm not really into the really hardcore ones that you do, like the five to seven nights. That's really not for me. But I think the activity chances are lower when I'm there because I don't tend to have very many experiences. I think that's my fault. I'm the bad luck charm because it's not like I have activity every time I go out either. But, you know, I was going to bring up because the interesting thing about the situation for Cliff and Melissa and Bobo and Corita is that you guys can do the, you know, go out during the day and be home at night because you both live in such awesome squash habitat. Like a lot of the places where I take Emily, it's a minimum of like four hour, five hour drive to get there. So if we're going, we're pretty committed. But like Emily said, I only take her out on maybe like two or three nights at a time. She hasn't accompanied me for any like the week long stints yet. Yet. Yet. Maybe. Maybe glamping. So another listener writes, I'd love to hear where the gals fall on the spectrum of true believer versus undecided on the Sasquatch, other cryptids, and or the UFO phenomenon. Thanks so much. So I don't know, you want to take that one first, Corita? This is where she shines. I'm really an outside the box thinker. That's how I would label myself. And I've had so many experiences with things that I can't totally explain. It just goes on and on and on. I mean, I think reality is something we can't always explain. And I like it like that. And yeah, I think that's just the best way I can kind of describe how I think. I mean, I'm a believer. It's got to exist. There's too many people that I've never seen one, but there's too many people who have. And I have experience with other things, seeing things in the sky and experiences with ghosts and spirits that I know that there's other, I feel there's other dimensions that we just kind of like interact with. So, yeah, I'm a believer in all this stuff. And so what do you think, Emily? What's your response to that question? Well, as far as the Sasquatch topic goes, I've been thinking about it for a long time. I've obviously been exposed to about as much evidence and discourse about it as a person can be exposed to it. I love talking about it and thinking about it. So I'm obviously very, very open-minded to it. and a lot of people I know have had experiences, and I believe those people, but I've never had a definitive experience. So I think to say I'm 100% true believer, I'd have to have my own experience, but other than that, I do think it's really possible, it's really probable. And if Matt told me he saw one, I'd be at 99.99999% true believer, but I'd have to have my own experience to get to 100. As far as other unexplained phenomena like UFOs and everything like that, Yes, whatever it is that makes people question whether there's more than meets the eye, I was born with whatever that is. Because the first time I ever went to the library, I was about six years old. My mom took me to the library. I think she thought I was going to check out Dr. Seuss or Clifford the Big Red Dog or something like that. But I went straight to the unexplained phenomenon section, and I wanted to check out a book about alien abductions. And my mom tried to discourage it, but I checked out a book about alien abductions. It was the first book I ever checked out. and it had the Betty and Barney Hill abduction in it amongst others. I took that home and read the whole thing, had nightmares, and loved every minute of it. So, yeah, I've been open to that kind of thing for my whole life. Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with Corita and Emily here. I mean, I think the show, I didn't really think too much about Bigfoot before I got on the show. I loved the UFOs and ghosts and stuff, but I never really spent much time thinking about Bigfoot. but by the end of my time on the show, I definitely thought they were real just because of my own experiences of what I heard. I didn't see anything, but I did hear some things that made me question. And then, you know, fast forward, you know, almost 10 years now and I have seen all the evidence we've collected through the museum and without a doubt, I actually do believe there are species of undiscovered apes. So that was really, it's exciting. And I am a believer. UFOs, absolutely ghosts. dog men. I know some people that have had experiences with them as well. So I just said, bring on the weird because this world is very weird and there's lots of possibilities, you know, of existing in different realms and who knows, but I love it all. Very cool. Another listener writes, have any of you read any Bigfoot books? And if so, what's your favorite? The Phenomenal Sasquatch by Matt Pruitt, available on Amazon and NABC.com. Actually, nabc.com is the National Association of Basketball Coaches, and I'm not sure that book's available there. But no, seriously, I read that whole book and helped him edit it. So, I mean, obviously, that's my favorite Bigfoot book. But right now I'm sitting in basically a library of every Bigfoot book ever published because my husband owns all of them and reads them like multiple times. So it has been a long time since I've really sat down and read a Bigfoot book because he reads them all. And then I get the cliff notes or the Matt notes. Lucky. Right. What about you, Karina? Have you read any of the books off Bobo's shelf? No, and there's so many of them. But I have categorized them and archived them all. Yeah, Bobo's very proud of his collection. It sounds like a pretty stellar collection. I know he's got a lot of like first editions and things like that. So he's probably like, don't touch that. Yeah, they're very, they're precious. Tell me what they're saying in the earthquake. Yeah. What about you, Melissa? Do you, I got to see Cliff's library when I was up there just a couple of weeks ago and it was very impressive. There was a lot of stuff I'd never seen before. So do you ever go down there and crack open any of those books? I do not. I do not. I like horror fiction. So I haven't actually read any of his books. I did start to read yours, though. It is very well written. And it's written at a higher level, which, you know, I think we can appreciate. It's not dumbed down and good stuff. And I hope you get to write another one. I'm working on it. And I appreciate that very, very much. You're welcome. I think right now is the time for Corinna to commit to reading Matt's book. Okay, well, there's two other books I've got on the list that I have to read in order first. it'll be down the line. All good. All good. And this listener writes, what is the weirdest thing that your guys said upon walking in the door, coming back home from the field? So I guess they're looking for like, you know, have any of us walked in the door and made some strange claim or an exciting claim or claimed something amazing or something of that sort? I bet Corita has heard a few. Yeah, daily probably from Corita. I locked myself out. They all just kind of blend together now. I mean, there's a lot. Gee, I mean, come circle back around, I mean. If we can do that. There's a lot. I'm always saying cool, smart stuff. I can't attest to that. That is true. What about you, Emily? Have I ever made any wild claims upon returning home? No, not really. You're always saying cool, smart stuff. Now, usually when you get home, he does come home and he'll like recap what went on and then show me a bunch of pictures. He'll like cast them to the TV and show me all the pics of different stuff around camp and any evidence that they found. So I always do get a good debriefing of the expedition but nothing weird What about you Melissa Has Cliff come home with any weird wild stories Not really I would agree with Emily It pretty much a debriefing session And I think it more of his nonverbal language that really cute to me because he just like a scurry little mouse just like holding a bunch of papers and bags and therms And he just like scrambles around and tells me all these things that happen. And, you know, because we have a lot of gadgets and gizmos. And I can tell when something's going on because he's scattering around collecting things. And I don't know. And I like seeing all the pictures and I don't know, just kind of reliving what he just went through. It's really exciting. I could tell you're excited. It's like you're a hardy boy. There's probably a correlation between Cliff's excitement level and the amount of plaster stuck to his clothes when he gets it. I was just saying that to him yesterday that like, you know, because I was preparing for this just like, oh, what am I kind of questions? they'll have. And I was talking to him about how much plaster is all over our walls or like his clothes that I can't get out of. And, you know, just it's really it's funny. The splattering of plaster all over our garage and on Cliff. Yes. You know, it's a good day. Certainly. Did anything come to mind there, Corita, for circling back? A couple of things. I do remember him. I mean, there's a lot. He comes home and like everybody else, he debriefs and tells me. I say about two things and she tells me that's enough. that's not true but anyway i do remember him talking about a hand or something pressing down on a corner of a tent oh louisiana okay so that that has stuck out in my mind and then what was the other thing that i was just gonna say something that same trip when i when i called back from still i filmed when i filmed one and it didn't get filmed oh and then i would just say like the disappearance of things, the disappearance of therms, the disappearance of stuff. Did you check under the hood? Yeah, that's a good point, Cliff. Always check under the hood first with Bobo, I guess. Well, I was trying to fix the car and I was working on it and then I had the keys to unlock it and then I sent them down and it started to rain so I closed the hood real fast and I didn't realize the keys were in there. I didn't just go stick them in there. I believe you. Stay tuned for more Bigfoot and Beyond with Cliff and Bobo. We'll be right back after these messages. Starting a business can be overwhelming. But I guess as a maybe a closing thought or a closing segment would be, you know, we launched this podcast. It'll be five years ago this May. We really started recording five years ago because we started recording content in February of 2019. And then we've launched this bonus show in October of 2022. So if there's anything you want to say to this special audience that's been supporting us for five years from day one and really supporting us here on Patreon for the last year and a half. And just what you think about this project in general. I guess we can start with Melissa. it. I remember when Cliff first mentioned doing the podcast and, you know, it was just uncertain, you know, I'm not sure if they'd gain any traction or anything, but when you first start a project, that's how it usually is, you know, and just seeing it grow and, and the numbers and the support, I am just so grateful to each and every one of the patrons that support this channel and this podcast, because you're not only supporting the subject, you're, you're supporting all the people behind it and us too, you know, the families. And we just really, really appreciate it. And hopefully we're still talking about it 10 years from now or maybe five years from now, whatever. But thank you so much. Appreciate it. Absolutely. What do you think, Emily? I would just say every week I see Matt put in so much time and effort into this. You know, he really puts a lot into it. And every time we travel and go places like to a festival or meet other people, meet witnesses, etc. People are always mentioned in the podcast and how much they love it. So it's kind of amazing just to see how much positive feedback that this gets. And people really, really appreciate it. We really appreciate you. And thank you all for making this possible. Okay, well, about this question, I would say that I'm very impressed with Bobo and with this podcast. I mean, he puts a lot of effort into this podcast. He's totally devoted. And he's devoted to his fans. And he's devoted to the subject. And it doesn't sway. And it's impressive, you know. Sasquatch is definitely... Omnipresent. In the party. Sasquatch is in the party. Omnipresent. It's on the mind, too. It's just like, yeah, it's there. It's kind of like some things about Bobo is that he does some, he calls it mind surfing. Oh, I do? Yeah, where he like kind of surfs, he like meditates in a way on the waves and meditates surfing. I think he does the same thing about Bigfoot. There's a lot of thinking and how are we going to get, what am I going to do for the next expedition and all that. Yeah, I definitely think that's one of the things that makes the three of us such close friends is like we're just a few of like a tiny, tiny number of people in on the continent or in the world that devote this much time thinking about this subject. And so we've somehow never run out of things to talk about, even though we're kind of always talking about one subject that like we talked about in the last episode that members heard the main show. it is like a bottomless well and we never run out of you know fascination with it and and things to discuss and things to talk about so that's definitely something i feel like is create some kindred spirits among everyone did i go to hawaii no the whole time in hawaii i think i was like god the squashes would thrive here like look at this perfect dog is full of pigs and fruit and like i wherever i go i'm thinking like i'm thinking squash habitat like or like if you know you're LA and like he, look at Santa Monica mountains or whatever, you know, like Palos Ridge, I'm always like, I wonder what the squash population was before, you know, it got settled, you know, stuff like, like I never stopped thinking about it, but no matter where I am. Oh, like if I want to go on vacation somewhere, the odds of getting Matt to buy in on going on the vacation is whether or not there could possibly be Sasquatch there. So like for going to New York City or something like that, forget it. He'll never go there. But like Denver, Red rocks, there could be squatches around. So yeah, he's all in for that. I'd go to New York, but we do a lot of squatchy tourism. Like if we go somewhere, we went to San Diego, for example, a few years ago and I was like, oh, we got to go find the Zuby's house. And so we went by the house where the Zuby's case happened or if we're anywhere, like I find the nearest sort of famous historical Sasquatch landmark and we always go see that stuff. So that is always on the brain. Yeah. It's a good thing I like it and I'm into it or else this would be very difficult. I would love to leave Bobo's and the podcast listeners with Bobo's one recipe. It's called Fettuccine El Bobo. And I call it the Widowmaker. So listen up. If you're trying to get off your spouse, this is the way to do it. Take some pasta. Make some pasta. then use two jars of pesto like a very oily pesto you have to add two how much butter two pounds two no not two two sticks of butter two sticks of butter and about a half a pound to a pound of smoked salmon. Yeah. And that is... Oh, garlic. Four jumbo dungeons from. I didn't know. That was added later. I didn't know. I never experienced that part. They have. You just didn't like it because of the garlic. Oh, and then garlic. And it also takes two whole heads of garlic. I can't imagine why she didn't like it. No way. It's the best thing ever, dude. It's really, really rich. It's super rich, and the garlic's gnarly. I put in a ton of garlic. Sounds like we need to launch Bobo's Cooking Podcast next. That's it. That's his recipe. That's it. There's one. There's no book, guys. It's just one. It's three by five posted. Amazing. All right. Well, I hope everybody enjoyed this episode. You get to hang out with the gals a little bit. I always enjoy hanging out with everybody. It's very rare we all get a chance to get together. I mean, really, I haven't spoke to Karita much for the last year or something, although I do hear in the background, Karita, occasionally. Then the only reason I mostly know you're there is Bobo says, hey, we're recording, or something like that. And I don't even hear you, by the way. So just so you know, I don't mind you making noise in the background because I don't hear it, so I don't think it shows up on the recording. But hopefully everybody enjoyed this Valentine's Day special. I hope you all enjoyed your Valentine's Day yesterday. I was, of course, at the Sportsman Show yesterday, so we didn't get a chance to do anything. So Melissa and I are going to have to celebrate our Valentine's Day a little bit later, I think. Do you need reports? I don't know yet, because I'm not there yet. Oh, okay. Yeah, actually, this isn't next Thursday yet, Bobo. As much as it might look like it. Feels like it. Yeah, yeah. The show starts on Wednesday, which is Valentine's Day. But that's not today yet, Bobo. All right. I'm not confined to a calendar like you guys are. I just love that you suspended all belief, you know, and you just believed what I said, you know. It's like, oh, wow, yesterday was Valentine's Day. Did we have a good time, Corita? You said you have a fluid sense of time, Cliff. Mine's more misty. Right. It's solid fluid. nice well anyway yeah i hope everybody enjoyed your valentine's day and we really do appreciate all of you supporting us with the patreon stuff hopefully you enjoyed this special episode with the gals there um if you like it let us know shoot us emails tell us what you like if you want us to do this again sometime perhaps we can rope our significant others into it yeah thanks uh thanks to the ladies for showing up today and not eviscerating us and i appreciate Karina not throwing me over the fire. Yeah. So anyways, folks, we hope you guys had a great Valentine's Day and thanks for tuning in and thanks to the ladies for joining us. And until next week, you all keep it beyond squatchy.
