The U.S. and Israel announced plans to dominate Iranian airspace, key primaries shake up Senate and congressional races, and Elon Musk's X makes a move to police AI-generated fake news. I'm Georgia Howe with Daily Wire executive editor John Bickley. It's Wednesday, March 4th, and this is Evening Wire. A high-speed chase and shootout with Border Patrol led to a man's death in West Texas. Daily Wire immigration reporter Jenny Ter has more. The incident began at the Sierra Blanca checkpoint in a remote area in West Texas between El Paso and Van Horn. This is a developing story. Check the Daily Wire website and app for updates. Operation Epic Fury continues. Daily Wire senior editor Cabot Phillips has the latest. War Secretary Pete Hegseth announced this morning that an American submarine had torpedoed an Iranian warship, sending it to the bottom of the Indian Ocean off the coast of Sri Lanka. This was the first time a U.S. sub had sunk an enemy ship with a torpedo since World War II. A U.S. Navy ship also intercepted a missile targeting an airbase in Turkey on Tuesday. Turkish authorities summoned the Iranian ambassador for answers about the apparent strike. Meanwhile, the State Department reports that 17,500 Americans have been safely returned from the Middle East. Secretary Hegseth also announced today that American and Israeli forces would pursue total dominance of Iranian airspace and completely destroy Iran's military capabilities. We have only just begun to hunt, dismantle, demoralize, destroy, and defeat their capabilities just four days in. Starting last night and to be completed in a few days, in under a week, the two most powerful air forces in the world will have complete control of Iranian skies, uncontested airspace. Hegseth noted the nearly unlimited stockpile of precision bombs at the military's disposal, dismissing concerns about the munition supply running out if the conflict goes long. Meanwhile, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Raisin Cain noted the number of ballistic missiles fired by Iran has dropped by 86 percent since the initial strikes. The Pentagon has released the names of four Army Reserve soldiers killed in an Iranian attack in Kuwait over the weekend. Daily Wire foreign affairs reporter Cassie Akiva reports. According to the Pentagon, those fallen include 35-year-old Captain Cody A. Cork, 42-year-old Sergeant First Class Noah El-Tichens, 39-year-old Sergeant First Class Nicole M. Amour, and 20-year-old Sergeant Declan J. Coady. All four soldiers were supporting Operation Epic Fury. The department is continuing to investigate the incident that occurred in Port Shaiba, Kuwait, during an unmanned aircraft system attack Two other service members were also killed in the attack but have yet to be identified publicly White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt said President Trump will attend the dignified transfer of the soldiers remains when they return home Several key primaries were held yesterday that have already shaken up the midterms, especially in Texas. Daily Wire political reporter Cameron Arcand has the breakdown. State Senator James Tallarico defeated Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett in the Democratic Senate primary, winning 53 percent to 46 percent, with 83 percent of the vote in, and will advance to face the eventual Republican nominee in a race the Cook Political Report rates as likely Republican. On the GOP side, Attorney General Kim Paxton and Senator John Cornyn failed to clear the 50 percent threshold, sending their Senate contest to a May 26 runoff after Cornyn led with about 43 percent to Paxton's 40 percent, while Congressman Wesley Hunt trailed them third. In another major upset four-term Congressman Dan Crenshaw lost his Republican primary in Texas's second congressional district to state Representative Steve Toth, who won 56 percent to 40.5 percent with 94 percent of the vote counted, marking one of the most significant incumbent defeats of the cycle and underscoring continued shifts within the Texas GOP. As a side note, Texas District 21 selected World Series champ Mark Teixeira, former Major League First Baseman. Three police officers who stopped the mass shooting in Austin over the weekend are expected to face a grand jury. Daily Wire senior editor Joel Needler has the details. Injaga John was the lone suspect in the shooting that took place outside of a bar in Austin, Texas early Sunday morning. And although he was wearing a sweatshirt that read Property of Allah, his exact motives are not yet known. John killed three people and wounded 13 others with what police described as an assault rifle before officers shot and killed him, stopping the rampage. The grand jury review is mandatory for officer-involved shootings thanks to a George Floyd-era policy the Austin District Attorney implemented in 2021. The officer's legal counsel criticized the secretive Texas grand jury process, arguing that prosecutors control the evidence presented and are not required to show exculpatory material. Austin Police Association Detective Christopher Irwin told the New York Post that the district attorney routinely brings such cases before a grand jury to determine whether charges are warranted warranted and said that at this time, no charges are pending. O'Connell declined to release the officer's names, citing safety concerns as authorities continue investigating the gunman and any potential ties to terrorism. X announced that it will suspend users who post AI-generated videos of war without disclosure, this being a growing problem as the conflict in the Middle East intensifies. Daily Wire reporter Zach Jewell has the details. The Elon Musk-owned social media platform announced on Tuesday that posting AI-generated content depicting war without a disclosure will result in a revenue ban for 90 days, with a second violation resulting in a permanent ban from the program. This ties directly to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East as pro-Iran accounts have been flagged posting AI-generated content. In one case, accounts spread a video that appeared to show the USS Abraham Lincoln being struck by Iranian missiles. U.S. Central Command responded on Sunday saying the video was fraudulent and that Iranian missiles, which fired, quote, didn't even come close. Nikita Beer, the head of product at X, said, quote, During times of war, it is critical that people have access to authentic information on the ground. With today's AI technologies, it is trivial to create content that can mislead people. Open AI and CEO Sam Altman are under fire for agreeing to allow the Pentagon to use ChatGPT for classified work. After initial blowback, OpenAI revised its agreement to forbid the war department from using its tech for domestic surveillance. At an all-hands meeting Tuesday, Altman defended the agreement, saying the company would have influence over how its technology is used. He said while this was a complex decision, it was the right one with extremely difficult brand consequences and very negative PR for us in the short term. The House Oversight Committee's Epstein investigation has tapped two members of Trump's cabinet to testify, Attorney General Pam Bondi and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick. Bondi is expected to testify on the DOJ's handling of the Epstein case. Lutnick told Axios on Tuesday that he volunteered to speak to the committee, saying he did nothing wrong and wants to set the record straight. Lutnick lived next door to Epstein in Manhattan and visited Epstein's infamous Caribbean island in 2012, four years after Epstein pled guilty to soliciting a minor for prostitution. Lutnick has not been accused of any wrongdoing related to Epstein's sex crimes. Both will testify behind closed doors in the coming weeks. A former American Idol contestant and worship pastor allegedly killed his wife in Tip City Ohio and now police have released body camera footage showing him shortly after Daily Wire reporter Lyndon Blake has the story Caleb Flynn is in jail right now on a $2 million bond for murder charges in the case of his late wife, Ashley Flynn. The new body cam footage shows the moments after he allegedly shot his wife in the head in the bedroom while their two daughters slept nearby. Caleb is seen in the video wailing in his living room when cops get to what they thought was a burglary call. Caleb even asked a cop, is his wife gone? After calling Ashley's mom to the scene of the crime, the footage shows Caleb talking to his mother-in-law, saying Ashley asked him to sleep on the couch, but he shouldn't have listened to her. Just three days after Ashley's murder, Caleb was charged with one count of homicide, two counts of felonious assault, and two counts of tampering with evidence. The former worship pastor competed on season 12 of American Idol, where he talked about how much he loved his wife. Thing that makes me unique, you know, I absolutely love the Lord. I love my wife more than anything. Caleb's preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 26. A new bill in West Virginia could increase the availability of fully automatic weapons to civilians. We spoke with veteran and former firearms instructor Justice Bueller for the details. As a quick note, fully automatic firearms, or machine guns, fire continuously as long as the trigger is held, stopping only when released or when ammunition runs out. While Americans can legally own certain machine guns, federal law bans civilian transfer of those manufactured after May 19th of 1986, sharply limiting the supply. The proposed West Virginia bill would create a state agency to transfer state-owned machine guns, including those made after 1986, to qualified residents. Buyers would still have to pass the federal background check required for machine gun ownership, but if passed, the bill could test some arguably vague language in federal firearm law. Some state Democrats have voiced opposition to the bill, leaving its fate to lawmakers and potentially the courts. And Starbucks is planning to open a new corporate office right here in Nashville. The company said that while their headquarters will still be in Seattle, they're seeking to expand their business into the southeast, including relocating positions. Starbucks has also said they want to add as many as 5,000 new locations, many of which would be in the southern U.S., including Nashville. So now it will be even more convenient for John to get his morning venti white chocolate mocha double whipped up. That is not my order, guys. That's a lie.
