Summary

Insights
  • Public skepticism about invisible threats (enriched uranium, nuclear weapons) creates political divisions even when evidence exists, paralleling historical resistance to acknowledging Nazi Germany's intentions

  • Space exploration is becoming a competitive arena with China targeting moon landing by 2030 versus the U.S. Artemis goal of 2028, with plans for lunar base infrastructure including nuclear reactors
  • Immigration and border security funding has become a legislative priority with June 1st deadline, framed as essential to prevent unvetted entry of criminals and mentally ill individuals
  • Vintage movie poster market demonstrates significant wealth concentration in collectibles, with rare 1920s-1940s film artwork commanding $200K-$1.2M at auction

It is Thursday, April 2nd, 2026. Here's what's happening today in America. We have liftoff, regime change in Iran, oil arguments over, and ice funding soon. That's all coming up and Bill is going to be here with your message of the day. But first, the Artemis II moonshot mission has successfully launched from Florida. Reed Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen. If all goes as planned, these four will go deeper into space than any human has ever. And their slingshot around the moon. That'll be on day five. The next 25 hours, the first 25 hours I should say, after liftoff, is going to be spent circling the earth. Then the main engine will hurl the crew to the moon 244,000 miles away. And then four days after that, there will be 5,000 miles on the other side of the moon. The goal of all this, the whole Artemis project, is to land on the moon by 2028. China plans to do it by 2030. Not sure how that works. We'll let them. And then we're going to build a base on the moon. One of these next missions is going to bring a nuclear reactor with them. The commander-in-chief addressed the nation last night, giving updates on the war in Iran. He said we have a, quote, complete regime change now in Iran. He's been speaking with leaders there that are, quote, more moderate and much more reasonable. Trump has said it could be another two or three weeks that we are in Iran. He said we don't need a deal with Iran to stop bombing. It's over whenever we want it to. He said, quote, when we feel that they are for a long period of time put into the stone ages and they won't be able to come up with a nuclear weapon, then we'll leave. Whether we have a deal or not, it's irrelevant. Our secretary of state said we can see the finish line. It's not today. It's not tomorrow, but it's coming. And he said this will go down in history as one of the best run tactical military operations in modern times. It's impossible to tell from oral arguments how justices are feeling about an issue, but the president was there at the Supreme Court chambers. First time a sitting president has ever been to the oral arguments. He sat in the public gallery on a bench surrounded by other private citizens. There was no special arrival or hail to the chief. He stayed for about an hour and after the court adjourned, he wrote untruth social, we are the only country in the world stupid enough to allow birthright citizenship. The president called for Congress to deliver a reconciliation bill that includes funding for ice and custom and border patrol by June 1st. Speaker Johnson and Senate Majority Leader Thune said they will do their best. The president said, unlike Republicans, Democrats want to defund the police, border patrol and ice. They want to allow criminals, the mentally insane and lunatics from all over the world to come into our country totally unvetted and unchecked, putting Americans in serious danger. Funding for ice and border patrol will continue through the one big beautiful bill until this reconciliation bill is passed. Time now for the O'Reilly Update message of the day. On this Thursday, we cannot see it. The enriched uranium inside Iran can't watch the scientists trying to make a nuclear weapon. So we have to accept or reject the deadly premise based upon invisible evidence. And many folks will not do that because they don't trust the process. They believe what they want to believe. They don't believe Trump or Israel. Spain and much of Europe fall into this category as do millions of Americans. The action against Iran cannot be justified. It is Trump's war. Now history really doesn't matter to the dissenters. Yes, the Mullahs are killers. No question about it. Dead bodies in the streets can be seen. But high gas prices and economic pain overrides the death of strangers thousands of miles away, right? In the 1930s, millions of Americans did not believe Germany was genocidal, even though Hitler wrote of his own intentions in a book, Mein Kampf. A solid minority of Americans did not want to help Great Britain oppose the Third Reich. Can't see the oppression. It's way over there. I know the Mullahs would slaughter Jews and Americans because they said so. I don't want to believe them, but the evidence is there. Nukes would make the job easy. So that's where we all are, believe it or not. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me. Bill at billowreilly.com, bill at billowreilly.com, name in town if you wish to opine. Let's get to the mail Karen on the message board. I mean, Karen is a premium member for billowreilly.com. She can interact with other premium members. You can only turn the other cheek for so long. I'm very disappointed. Pope Leo felt the need to take sides on Iran because obviously diplomacy is far better than war. It's not like we haven't tried it with Iran. Okay. Frank Vasquez, a man, will Texas. If Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz and their tankers are going through it, if so, why? They don't have tankers. You have to go through the Strait of Hormuz to the oil depots in Iran to get the oil. Iran is not sailing it out of there. And now they're blowing up ships that are not only Iran, but Saudi Arabia, UAE, all those oil states. So that's that. Tom in Colorado, Bill, have no doubt that no king's protests are organized and funded, but I've yet to see anyone have infiltrated the groups to prove people are actually getting paid. And you won't. They're not going to tell you the truth. Come on. You're going to say, yeah, I got paid. If you see a professionally made sign, they got paid. If you see buses coming in, that's what it's all about. Glenda, why would you not want to bring grief to the creators of the phony video on TikTok? They deserve grief, in my opinion. I don't want to get these people hurt. If I report their names and where they are, are they going to get hurt? You would do that? Glenda, I don't think you'd do that. Not worth it. I've pointed the story. You know what the story is. We don't want anybody getting hurt. In a moment, something you might not know. That's what a war does. I had two sons. Now I've got one. Hi, I'm Brian Cranston and I play Joe Cump. And I'm Marianne Schombach-Tister and I play Kate Keller in All My Sons. And we'd like to invite you to watch this production of All My Sons by Arthur Miller, coming the 16th of April to the cinema. You can get your tickets at ntlive.com. Now the O'Reilly Update brings you something you might not know. Every year Americans spend more than $1 billion at auctions. From Manhattan ballrooms to barns in the Midwest, folks use their hard-earned cash to own a piece of history. One of the most valuable areas are vintage movie posters. Here are some of the top sellers. First up, the original Phantom of the Opera starring Lon Cheney. Just four copies of that artwork exist. In 2014, actor Nicholas Cage bought one of them for $200,000. Then there's Frankenstein. The 1931 film released a limited number of posters to movie houses across America. An original piece now goes for $250,000. Next up, King Kong. The poster depicts a giant ape climbing the Empire State Building. The price? $400,000. Star Wars, the global sensation at theaters around the world in 1977. Each nation printed their own Star Wars artwork. While some are very easy to find, others can be extremely rare. A Japanese version of a Star Wars poster worth $450,000. Casablanca, starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. A 1942 poster is valued at a half million dollars. The Mummy, featuring actor Boris Karloff, wrapped in tissue paper. The film's artwork is one of the most sought after on the market. Just two copies are known to exist. Each worth $750,000. Wow. And the most viable movie poster out there? The 1927 science fiction masterpiece Metropolis. The bizarre imagery shows a golden female statue with a blue background. 2012, one placard was sold in Los Angeles for $1.2 million. Back in a moment.
