•Apr 13, 20265 days agoSummary
Episode covers Eric Swalwell's rapid downfall after sexual assault allegations emerged, forcing him to exit California's gubernatorial race. Also discusses Republican push for the 'Dignidad Act' amnesty legislation and JD Vance's failed 21-hour Iran nuclear negotiations, leading to a U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
Insights
- Democratic establishment weaponizes opposition research against its own candidates when they become political liabilities, demonstrating ruthless internal party discipline over principle
- Amnesty legislation is being rebranded with foreign language titles and semantic games to obscure its true nature from voters and bypass public opposition
- Business lobbying groups (Chamber of Commerce, Americans for Prosperity) prioritize cheap labor access over border security, driving Republican support for immigration expansion
- Iran negotiations failed on the singular issue of nuclear weapons, suggesting Trump administration has clear red lines and won't accept partial agreements
- Blockade strategy leverages U.S. energy independence to apply pressure on Iran while minimizing domestic economic impact, contrasting with previous administrations' approaches

Hey everybody, welcome to events on a Monday. It is so great to be back with you after two days off. Thank you very much for giving me the chance to do that. We closed out my daughter's spring break week with a trip to New York City, which was pretty great actually. I had a fantastic time visiting New York, despite the fact that a communist is trying to run it into the ground, more on that in just a second. We've got a huge show coming up. I need to talk to you about two gigantic issues, maybe three, maybe three, let's do three today. One of them is Eric Swalwell just got shived by the entire left, the establishment turned on him. They knew that this guy was a scumbag, they knew all about this record. And yet they decided to just deploy it just now because he's in the way of Democrat party power. That's how these things work. They took out Eric Swalwell, I've got the details on all of that breaking news overnight. I've got the details this morning. And then we need to talk about the developments in Iran over the weekend as JD Vance goes. He's got 20 hours of negotiations with the Iranians and he leaves and he says, you know what? No deal, I'm heading out of here. Heads out of Islamabad, the president of the United States weighing in on all of this, we have that coming up as well. And then joining us today on the program, we'll have a guy who worked for President, Trump Theo Wald is gonna be here. We're gonna talk to him about some of these Republicans in Congress who are pushing for an amnesty. What the hell is going on? It's all ahead on this edition of Vince. It is so great to be back with you. Hello, Chad. Hello, rumble.com slash Vince. Dr. Edwards says I'm glad you're back safely from New York city. It was mostly safe. It was mostly safe. We saw a lot of police activity though. We'll get to all of it coming up on the program. But first I wanna thank the great sponsors who keep all of this moving each day. My daughter, we took her to New York when she was a baby. It wasn't the age of cognition yet. So this is our first time back in many years. We go back together and we had such a good time. Now, first, let me just tell you, if you haven't been there in a while, even back in the old days, it's an expensive city. It costs a lot of money to do anything worth doing in the city, even just to get food and stuff. It's a very pricey experience. But we went and we hit a lot of the tourist sites. You know how when you go visit a city, you visit all the tourist attractions. But if you live in the city, you never visit those attractions. Yeah, we did it all. We did the Empire State Building. We went, we did the carriage ride with the horse in Central Park, which was awesome, actually. It was a really, really beautiful weather for us to do that. And we saw the 9-11 Memorial. Chat, have you been to the 9-11 Memorial? Have you seen the 9-11 Memorial? It is unbelievably well done. It is just remarkable. You enter this 9-11 Memorial Center, and then you go downstairs underground, and you can see the foundation of, I believe it's the North Tower. You can see what's left of it, just these slabs of concrete that are still underground, still there, preserved. And you can be there and see it up close and in person. It is, for the most part, what you would hope it would be. It's a solemn experience. I think mostly the crowds are very respectful. I saw some international visitors. I don't think that appreciated how heavy that whole experience was. But man, I'll tell you what, just walking up on the 9-11 Memorial and seeing those gigantic fountains that they've built for both the North and the South Towers, where the water just pours down to that gaping hole into the earth, I felt deeply affected by it. If you do one thing in New York, if you haven't been to New York City in a while, or if you have never been there, I highly recommend this. Go to the 9-11 Memorial. Our original plan was to see the Memorial and then to go up into the new Trade Center Tower, One World Trade Center, which is, remember, it's 1776 feet high. It's massive. We skipped it. I was in the Empire State Building. I kind of got the bird's-eye view of the city thing. I didn't need to do that again. Once we were done with the 9-11 Memorial, I was like, you know what? That's enough. I think that's enough. I don't need to go see the new tower right now. But it was just so, it was such a heavy experience and so well worth it to do. And it was such a reminder, of course, of what happened in September 11th. You're walking through each of the minute-by-minute times. Inside, they kind of have like a bunch of exhibits, but then there's an interior exhibit where you go in and they say, no photos, no videos in here. Because what you're about to see is all the heaviest moments of the day, is the television broadcasts and the radio calls and the crushed fire trucks and ambulances and kind of burned out remnants of 9-11. Boy! I can't lie at all. I was very emotional going through there. And I just want to, I just appreciate everybody who works there and who are keeping that legacy, that important story alive. And I kept looking around and thinking, I'm like, gosh, so many of the people who are in the room weren't even born yet. Or if they were, they just were not at a level where they could even think about what was happening. And so as history goes on, as is always true, there are going to be fewer and fewer people who are capable of telling that story. So if you have young ones in your life, people who are younger than weren't even born at 9-11, like I do, be their tour guide, take them through it, and then remind them as you go through, this is what you were thinking, this is what was happening. Remember telling my daughter, I was like, we felt like the whole country was under attack. You saw those planes hit the towers, you saw a plane hit a Pentagon, the plane go down in Pennsylvania, and you started thinking, where else are planes going to hit? You thought every, I think every community in America was on guard for, it's everywhere. It's, it was a credible experience. So anyway, there was that, I'm getting some questions in the chat. Yes, I had my bagels. I went twice, we got bagels, it was great. Got some New York pizza. We did everything you would expect in New York, it was wonderful. Anyway, thank you, thank you to the chat, and thank you to Haley Caronea for filling in for me on Thursday, looking after the show, appreciate her, she is great, and she's got a great program herself. So I appreciate her doing double duty on Thursday, taking over the show. All right, let's get into some of the news that just broke overnight. I've got to talk to you about Eric Swalwell. And I, look, it couldn't happen to a worst guy. I mean, Eric Swalwell definitely deserves all of this, but isn't it interesting, isn't it interesting that Eric Swalwell was just felled by a sex scandal that the entire left knew about, but refused to admit in public until they needed to get rid of Eric Swalwell? Let me just take you through the timeline so you can understand why this is happening. Because you may be like, why is, why are they all turning on Eric Swalwell? Hasn't he been the most ridiculously loyal lieutenant to their insane ambitions to hurt Trump at every turn? The answer is yes, but the problem is his personal political ambitions ran up against the Democrat party's ability to maintain a stranglehold on power. And when that happens, you're gonna be destroyed right under the bus wheels, Eric Swalwell went. In California right now, there is a governor's race going on, you may know. In fact, this governor's race does not have any clear front runner among the Democrats and among the Republicans, the two, both of those guys are leading the field. Chad Lobianco and Steve Hilton are currently the front runners based on all available polling in the California governor's race. Now, in any other state in the union, this wouldn't matter as much in terms of the Democrats and their power ambitions because every other, most other states have regular primary systems where the Republicans get to choose their candidate, the Democrats get to choose their candidate and those two candidates square off on election day during the general election in November. Not true in California. California has a jungle primary system, which means that all of the candidates of every party all run together in the primary. You're thinking probably, Vince, that's insane. Yes, it's totally insane, but it's the way California works. That's the way they've set up this system. And so come June 2nd, which is the primary date, the two winners, the top two finishers in the primary go on to the general election. Now you can see what the problem is. Right now there's two Republicans who are the front runners. I warned you about this months ago. There are two Republicans who are the front runners, which means if the jungle primary ends on June 2nd and the two Republicans are the front runners, they're the only two candidates on the ballot. There won't even be a Democrat on the ballot in November. And Democrats are freaking the out. They're freaking out. They don't know what to do other than to start stabbing their own people to death, which is what they just did to Eric Swalwell. Eric Swalwell has a massive pervert file that the left has been assembling on him for some time. Now, if you've ever looked at Eric Swalwell, you're like, how are you so compliant and ridiculous? How is it that you're always spreading the dumbest possible left-wing conspiracies? Can't you think for yourself at all? Well, just realize the left was sitting on a blackmail file that kept him in line. So of course he said the dumbest possible thing at every turn. He wanted to stay in their good graces so that they wouldn't take him out. But suddenly he was standing in the way. So now he's been destroyed. And so here's how this happened. On Friday, the San Francisco Chronicle ran a piece alleging that Eric Swalwell had raped one of his own employees. This is heavy stuff. Here is what they said. An ex-staffer says Eric Swalwell, candidate for California governor, sexually assaulted her. Here's the original piece. And in it, they say a woman who worked for Eric Swalwell, a leading candidate for California governor, said she had sexual encounters with him while he was her boss and alleged he twice sexually assaulted her when she was too intoxicated to consent. And so the woman was in the way of saying he raped her. Swalwell did not respond to any of the former staffer's specific allegations, made in a series of interviews with the Chronicle. And then he provided a statement on Friday saying that the allegations are false. Let me get to the allegation by the woman. The woman said Swalwell began pursuing her within weeks after she was hired at age 21 to work in the Democrats district office in Castro Valley in 2019. Swalwell messaged her on Snapchat. Snapchat? What's he on Snapchat? He sent her images of his genitals and sought nude pictures of her in return. She said Swalwell, who is married and 17 years her senior at age 45, tried to kiss her in her car when she drove him home from a donor meeting one night. Driving him to another event weeks later, she said Swalwell pulled out his penis in the car and asked her to perform oral sex on him. She said she did so in a parking lot. She did so in a parking lot. In September of 2019, the woman said, Swalwell invited her out for drinks and she became so severely intoxicated she doesn't remember the rest of the night. She said she woke up naked in Swalwell's hotel bed and could feel the effect of vaginal intercourse. She said Swalwell distanced himself from her afterward and the relationship faded. Five years later, she attended an April 2024 charity gala where Swalwell was honored. The woman who was no longer working for him said they met for drinks afterward during which she became so inebriated that she remembers only snippets of the night including pushing Swalwell away and telling him no while he allegedly forced himself on her. The woman texted a friend three days later that she was quote sexually assaulted by Swalwell. She wrote in a series of messages all reviewed by the Chronicle that she had quote blacked out but woke up once during it and even told him to stop at one point. Quote, this happened one other time when I was working with him but I convinced myself I was an equal party in it even though same pattern. I blacked out and he had sex with me. She wrote referring to the 2019 incident. So what she's describing is rape. She's describing is rape. Now, did they have a consensual relationship at any point during this? Yeah, she agreed to perform a sexual act on him in a car at his request. But again, she's working for him and this guy's a perv on Snapchat and he's sending images of his junk to women and she's not the only one. Suddenly we get a whole bunch of other women who start coming out of the woodwork as promised. Remember I told you that the left was working this up in the form of a CNN report. This just within hours of the Chronicle report coming out. They say four women describe sexual misconduct by Eric Swalwell including the former staffer says he raped her. And they go on here and they start laying out woman after woman who is saying that this guy is a perv. He's a perv and he's constantly going after them and they say sexually assaulting them. CNN found corroboration for key elements of each of the women's claim including the former staffer said she was sexually assaulted. Two family members and a friend said in interviews with CNN that she told them about the alleged 2024 assault in the following days and CNN also reviewed messages. She sent two friends describing her allegations at the same time quote I was sexually assaulted on Thursday by Eric. She wrote to one of her friends. The woman also shared medical records related to her receiving STD and pregnancy testing after the assault. For the woman who connected online with Swalwell over Democrat politics, a family member and two friends confirmed she told them last year about the incident where she ended up intoxicated in his hotel room. CNN also reviewed messages between her and Swalwell including a photo he sent her that matches footage of him during a CNN interview in her city on the night they met in person. So CNN literally has corroborating evidence because he appeared on their network wearing the same outfit that she had in a photo of him from that date in that city. The woman described a similar pattern of events. Swalwell who is married and has three children showed close interest in their lives when they were in their 20s and finding their footing professionally making them feel special and even star struck. Then they said he would send them increasingly sexual messages. Many said they were reciprocated and engaged with him in part because of his position of power. In some cases those inappropriate exchanges escalated to alleged unwanted physical touch or sexual assault often tied to episodes of heavy drinking. Yeah. And then there's the video. That's right. This weekend video has emerged from two accounts. One from Martin Screlly and the other from Jack Pasebic of Eric Swalwell engaged in Hanky Panky with what is allegedly, they say a sex worker, that's another word for a prostitute, in a room with another scantily dressed woman and a man on the bed with them as well at the same time. Here's the viral video that's going around the internet right now. Yep. There he is kissing on this woman. He's married, remember? That's creepy. And then we have a second video of him grabbing at her, pulling her down and then some dude in black Nike's. There's rampant speculation to who the second dude is. There's Eric Swalwell, again, married man, father of three, wants to be the governor of California, wanted to be president of the United States. All of this suddenly being leaked by the left to destroy him, to take him out. Swalwell is denying assault. Swalwell is denying assault. He says, I didn't assault anybody. But he admits that he did cheat on his wife a lot. Here's Eric Swalwell on a video he just released this weekend. Watch. A lot has been said about me today through anonymous allegations. And I thought it was important that you see and hear from me directly. These allegations of sexual assault are flat false. They're absolutely false. They did not happen. They have never happened. And I will fight them with everything that I have. They also come on the eve of an election where I have been the front-runner candidate for governor in California. I do not suggest to you in any way that I'm perfect or that I'm a saint. I have certainly made mistakes and judgment in my past. But those mistakes are between me and my wife. And to her, I apologize deeply for putting her in this position. I also apologize to you if in any way you have doubted your support for me. But I think you know who I am. For over 20 years, I have served the public as a city councilman, as a member of Congress, and as a prosecutor who went to court on behalf of victims, particularly on behalf of sexual assault victims. That's who I am and have always been. This weekend, I'm gonna spend time with my family and friends. And I appreciate those who have reached out to me to show support. And I look forward to updating you very soon. Yeah. Who told that guy to wear a silky porn shirt while he filmed his video about how he did sexually assault women? Who was giving him sartorial advice on how to do that video? So there's Eric Swalwell saying, no, I didn't sexually assault anybody, but I definitely cheated on my wife a bunch. It turns out Fang Fang wasn't the first and she certainly wasn't the last. And coming up, I wanna share with you just how quickly the left moved on this guy. So in addition to releasing all of this information, all of the top Democrats and the party immediately called for him to get out of the race. And now they may be moving even more swiftly to kick him out of Congress. Got the details on all of that coming up. Also Theo Waldo will be joining us here in a few minutes. We'll talk to him about what's going on in Congress as some Republicans think now's a good time to push amnesty. Psychos, we'll talk to Theo about that in moments. But first, this year marks a very critical moment for our country as the opposition grows more aggressive and unapologetic. The fight now reaches into everyday decisions that we make. Thank you to Patriot Mobile. Great operation. Love Patriot Mobile. Appreciate them as a sponsor of our show. All right, so all these allegations, the left just sends them all out the door to try and take the guy down. And then all of the top lefties start calling for him to get out of the race. You had Hakim Jeffries this weekend. You had the House Minority Whip, Catherine Clark. You had the Democrat caucus chair, Pete Aguilar, all say that this was an incredibly disturbing case and they were demanding investigations into him in a joint statement that they released. They said, all perpetrators of sexual assault and harassment must be held accountable. They declared. Meanwhile, Adam Schiff retracted his endorsement of Swalwell and urged him to end his campaign. Swalwell's house colleagues in California, Jimmy Gomez, Adam Gray, who served as campaign co-chairs, they called on him to leave the race as well. And then there were the staffers, the oh, so many staffers. I'm talking a lot of people who all knew that Eric Swalwell was a scumbag, but they waited until they could advance their own party's power ambitions to tell the rest of the world about it. The San Francisco Chronicle with the piece, 55 of Eric Swalwell's former staffers called on him to resign, 55 of them. More than 50 former staffers are representative Eric Swalwell called on him to resign and suspend his campaign for governor Sunday in response to the sexual assault allegations. The letter signed by 55 employees of the Castro Valley Democrat is the latest in a wave of calls for the congressman to resign in the wake of the allegations from a former staffer who said he sexually assaulted her twice. The former staffers writing, the allegations reported by the San Francisco Chronicle and CNN are serious, critical and demand accountability. We stand unequivocally with our colleague who showed extraordinary courage and coming forward to share her truth. We believe her. You believe her? Well, what leads you to believe her? Did you identify these moral failings in the guy that you were working for? All 55 of you on a routine basis and just decided never to tell anybody about it up until the moment that your party called upon you to advance their own ambitions? This is all about the governor's race. This is all about the governor's race. And they've mobilized the usual suspects. Fat Alvin Bragg is involved to try and take down Eric Swalwell. Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney is investigating Eric Swalwell now. This all happened this weekend. Swalwell under investigation by Fat Alvin Bragg. That's not the headline in political, but that is the takeaway. The Manhattan district attorney's office is investigating Eric Swalwell over allegations he sexually assaulted a former staffer in the New York City hotel room in April of 2024. Swalwell, who had been gaining momentum in the race for California governor in November, has seen his political profile come crashing down. And then they go on to say that they're urging survivors and anyone with knowledge of these allegations to contact the special victims division. They have specially trained prosecutors on the case, investigators, counselors are well-equipped to help you in a trauma-informed survivor-centered matter. So Fat Alvin Bragg, how far are we from Leticia James getting involved in all of this? Probably not, it's probably not gonna happen anymore now that they've got him out of the race. But one more investigation for you that Eric Swalwell's under. This one's from the feds. The feds say that Eric Swalwell has been paying an illegal alien as a live-in nanny for years now. The feds are investigating allegations, as we speak, that Eric Swalwell paid an illegal Brazilian live-in nanny under the table with campaign funds. With campaign funds, the guy, what a Democrat. Democrat representative Eric Swalwell, front runner, has been accused of violating immigration and employment law to keep his illegal live-in Brazilian nanny in the country, according to a pair of recently filed complaints. Basically, he brings her in on an old pair visa. The visa expires, he keeps paying her and keeps taking campaign funds to do it. And there she is in a bikini, constantly hanging out with the family in New York Post with a piece. So there she is with the kids going out, trick or treating. God, he's such an idiot. He really is. He's such an idiot. Are you serious? You're taking pictures of your junk and sending them to women on Snapchat? That alone is a reason you shouldn't be in elective office. Like, dude, control yourself. If he succumbs to those temptations in his personal life that easily, then in what world should he be in charge of any important decision-making for the rest of us? So now he's out of the race. Sunday night, he dropped out of the race. He posted to ex last night the following. Here's the announcement from Swalwell. He says, I'm suspending my campaign for governor to my family, staff, friends and supporters. I'm deeply sorry for mistakes and judgment I've made in my past. I will fight the serious false allegations that have been made, but that's my fight, not a campaign. So Swalwell is out. Now, who does that leave us with? If you're in California, and certainly California has an impact on the rest of the country, unfortunately, with Democrats running into the ground, who does that leave us with? Crazy Katie Porter. Crazy Katie Porter is now one of the leading contenders. Are you ready? One, two, three. Yeah, that's right. Fuck Trump. Psycho. Crazy Katie. A woman so psychotic, she dumped a boiling pot of mashed potatoes on her husband's head and then punched him when he disagreed with the way that they were raising their children. She's a psycho. She's a total psycho. And you think the file on Eric Swalwell is deep? Katie Porter, man, she's an animal. She's a monster. Now, will they take her out as well? I guess it depends. If Chad Lowe Bianco and Steve Hilton continue to dominate in the polls, just get ready for another one of these Democrats to be destroyed by the left's machine. We'll keep our eyes on it. All right, coming up, I wanna talk about what's happened on the right right now. There's a not small. If you've got 20 Republicans pushing it, it's not small. Push for amnesty among some of these idiot Republicans. We're gonna explore this next with one of the president's former guys, Theo Wald. He'll get into the details of what this is all about, why these guys are doing this and what he makes of it all ahead on this edition of Vince. I wanna thank two of our great sponsors, Shopify. Right now, Republicans, some Republicans in Congress have joined forces with Democrats to push something they're calling the Dignidad Act, which is a piece of legislation that has a title and a different language designed to push amnesty. For more on this, I wanna bring in Theo Wald now. He's a former assistant attorney general and former White House deputy assistant for domestic policy under President Trump. You can find him on X at realtheowald. That's where I follow him. Hello Theo, great to have you on the show today, sir. Hey man, it's good to be with you Vince. Thanks for having me. Of course. So the Dignidad Act, which is just the title alone, how insane is it that Republicans in Congress would even title legislation in a foreign language and then tell us it's good for us? Yeah, I mean, I think the title says everything you need to know about what's in the bill. This is designed to benefit the people of other countries and once again put Americans last. I think the most surprising part here is really that Republicans still have not got the message. They still do not understand that the bulk of the party, not just the base, the bulk of the party wants Republicans in Congress to serve the interests of the American people and this bill does anything, anything but that. So I wanna get at why they're pushing it, but first let's just talk about what the bill does. That's probably the best place to start, which is we're calling it an amnesty and the bill's sponsor and all the other co-sponsors are saying it's not an amnesty, it's not an amnesty. In fact, this is the opposite of amnesty. The rule of law, they're insisting. So Maria Salazar is the primary author and sponsor of this, Republican from Florida. And she says it's not amnesty. Why is she lying to us? Yeah, this is a hard question to answer actually. Having worked on these issues for President Trump in 45, I'll say there's a lot of members of Congress who think that amnesty is sort of like a magical term of art. So if you say it's not an amnesty, it isn't. In other words, that amnesty doesn't have a precise dictionary definition. And so Salazar keeps saying, well, it's not an amnesty, it's not an amnesty, we didn't design this for an amnesty. But technically, an amnesty is whenever you forego the enforcement of law against individuals who have broken a law or committed an offense. And that's precisely what this bill does. At least in 15 different places, do they forego the enforcement of already established immigration law to allow illegal aliens to remain in the United States? So by the dictionary definition, it's an amnesty. By its own terms, it's an amnesty. So it's another one of those games that members of Congress play where they'll say, look, if I can just keep repeating the same thing over and over and over again, maybe a certain percentage of the voting populace will believe me. So, and the other thing it does is it hands out to some immigrants under this category, some illegals under this category. It makes them legal permanent residents. It gives them a green card. And a green card is a pathway to citizenship. Somehow this escapes all of our debates. But if you're given a green card, you then have a pathway to citizenship in the United States. So stop lying to us that it's not a pathway to citizenship. You include that in the bill. Yeah, that's exactly right. I mean, again, it's one of those frightening things where people who are working on reconstructing our entire immigration architecture don't seem to understand that an LPR, which is the technical term, long-term permanent resident, is the same as a green card. And a green card is just five years towards, until you're eligible for naturalization. So yeah, it is a pathway to citizenship. I think the other thing though, that hasn't been talked about as much about with this bill, is that it actually deconstructs a number of the significant achievements of the 1996 Immigration Reform Control Act that Republicans passed in conjunction with Bill Clinton when he was president. So one of those, for example, the three in 10 bar, which prohibits illegal aliens who are here, from then if they are deported or removed, or they willingly remove themselves from the country, then being eligible to apply for any kind of legal status adjustment later on for three or 10 years. And this bill would remove that. So some of the sort of bulwarks of immigration enforcement or protections for American citizens from illegal aliens, this bill also takes those out of the law and discards them. All right, let me, guys, I wanna take this full screen because I wanna show Theo this. This is from Maria Salazar's website. This is the list of endorsing organizations for this. And I think this gets at why these Republicans are even a part of this. It's because they've got donors in business interests who are shoving it like crazy. There's a huge list of names here. One of them that stands out to me, by the way, in addition, they all stand out, but the American Legion, why the hell is the American Legion supporting this? Americans for Prosperity supports this amnesty bill. Americans for Prosperity. The Anti-Defamation League is here. You've got the US Chamber of Commerce, which is here supporting this amnesty operation. There's basically, you know, and then of course, they've got like the Center for American Progress, like all these lefty groups. So what is this, Theo? Is this the engine that's powering this kind of corruption? Is this why I'm seeing 20 Republicans joining in on this? Because they're just trying to represent donors? Yeah, no, that's precisely right. I mean, look, we worked on something that would have reformed a lot of our legal immigration laws in 45. We couldn't get any of these groups to support it because it's instincts that sort of, the origin of the bill was conservative. It would have doubled down on removing illegal aliens, on restricting some of the fraud and the abuse in the legal immigration visa system. And the Chamber of Commerce, Americans for Prosperity, the American Roofing Association, you know, the American Fast Food Association wanted nothing to do with our proposal in 45, but they support this. I think the other thing that's worth noting here is that the absolute insanity of some of these provisions in this bill make it so that you get Democrat support. And this should be a real strong sign for all of the Americans, you know, voters who say, well, I'm, you know, I'm kind of a moderate, I'm kind of an independent. I really want Republicans to work with Democrats. So in order to work with Democrats, what you have to have is an amnesty for about 35 million people. You have to have provisions that would set aside criminal convictions for rape, murder, and violent physical assault so that you can remain in the United States. You have to have provisions for law that would say if you're a lawyer and you represent a rapist who is engaged in further sexual assault crimes, who's pending removal from the country, if you successfully represent him, you can get your law school debts removed. So that's the kind of crazy stuff that Democrats insist you have in a piece of legislation in order to get their support. So the trade associations want a giant amnesty and the Democrats basically want to gut law and order provisions and really a large portion of our immigration enforcement architecture. And this comes at the expense of American workers. The whole point is to like import a cheap, low paid, foreign workforce in order to undercut American workers, thus leaving them suffering. So I'm looking at like one of the operations that supports this that I flagged is the African American Farmers of California. How does giving amnesty to massive numbers of illegals benefit black Americans? How does that work exactly? Look, I have no idea who the African American Farmers Association California is or are. I can tell you though that the evidence now is fairly substantial over the last 40 years, where any number of well-respected economists have said that the importation of mass exploitable labor operates to the detriment of the lowest wrong workers in the American economy, in particular African Americans as they work both retail, trade related sectors. So there's no question anymore that the importation of mass exploitable workers operates to the detriment of the American worker, diminishing educational opportunities, diminishing socioeconomic mobility opportunities. The other thing here though, again, that hasn't been talked about with this bill that I think it's worth mentioning, is Salazar gave an interview just a few days ago and the podcast host asked her, really put her through her paces. I think she thought this was gonna be sort of a friendly interview and said, look, I'm looking at all the provisions of the bill. And the one question I just have is, how do you administer something like this? You give it essentially 18 to 24 months for USCIS, which is the Visa Granting, a legal status granting entity at DHS, to review close to 30 million would be illegal alien applicants under the terms of this bill. How are they gonna administer 30,000 illegal immigrant applications a day, which is about what the math would work out to be. And she says, that's not for me to legislate. That's for DHS to figure out. And I'll just say to your viewers, look, there's not a single conservative piece of legislation out there that would say, hey, we're fine with the EPA regulating coal power or clean water, we're not gonna tell them how to do it. They'll figure the bureaucrats, the deep state will figure out how to administer this. A conservative piece of legislation would draw specifics. It would detail how the program itself should be administered. And that's how you know this is a liberal bill in orientation. Let the deep state, let the civil bureaucracy run this. And regardless of whether or not they can actually do it, which the simple answer here is, there's no way you could vet and clear 30,000 illegal immigrant applicants a day over the course of 18 months. It's impossible. It's an entire class of people who've been violating our nation's laws. And then you're saying, well, we're just gonna take them at the word that they got here before a certain date. That the whole thing's insane, actually. And it's Republicans who are pushing it and it needs to die, this thing. Now, the White House has not come out and condemned this legislation yet. My White House correspondent, Reagan Reis, asked the White House last week if they've taken a position. And Caroline Levitt said she would get back. She said, we'll take a look at it. We don't have anything for you today, but I'll get back to you on that. I haven't seen them take a position yet on the subject. My hope is that they're gonna enthusiastically dunk on this. What do you think they should do here, Theo? Yeah, I mean, I think they should obviously reject this in just with no equivocation. And whoever is advising Republicans, either in Congress or in the White House, that the sort of suggestion or the, you know, toe tap dance with amnesty is somehow electorally viable for Republicans where it adds voters to the calm. They are obviously being deeply, deeply misinformed. This bill from the word go is so unpopular. And it's unpopular, I think in a unique way. American citizens, voters are now well aware at how our country is being exploited by foreign nationals. Whether it's the fake childcare centers, whether it's the hospice centers in Los Angeles, what they wanna see Republicans in Congress tackling, what they wanna see the White House doing is working on ferreting out the fraud and preventing the theft of Americans hard earned tax dollars by foreign nationals, the citizens of Somalia, the citizens of Guatemala or Mexico. And so the idea that instead of doing that, we would say, hey, let's allow more and more foreign nationals to take up residence in your neighborhoods so they can continue to rob from your children. That's an albatross, that's a total election loser. So I hope the White House in no uncertain terms says that, whether it means we lose a seat in Miami for Congresswoman Salazar, I guess too bad, so sad. I think we can do a lot better picking up more American first-minded congressmen or congresswomen in other places in the country. Yeah, and it'd be a total betrayal of what the president was elected on, which was to get control of our nation's borders and to restore it for Americans. That was obviously why he was elected. One of the many reasons it was too big to rig. Before I let you go, Theo, one other thing I wanna ask you about is birthright citizenship. There was just a big case in the United States Supreme Court on this subject, oral arguments. And many of us were very troubled by what sounded like the justices kind of being okay with the status quo, that illegal aliens could come here, give birth, and then suddenly have American citizens in their family, which is in no way what the writers of the 14th Amendment meant for that amendment. That was designed explicitly for slaves, former slaves and their children. Theo, I know you were a part of drafting the first birthright citizenship executive order in the first administration. Tell me your thoughts on this subject, and what are the chances that the Supreme Court does the right thing here? Yeah, I think the simple thing, for folks who are not lawyers, who are not legal geeks, I think the simple sort of thesis here is exactly as you describe. The debates at the time of ratification of the 14th Amendment, in particular the discussions that surrounded the citizenship clause of the 14th Amendment, and then similarly situated statutes, statutory enactments following the Civil War, including the Civil Rights Act of 1866, make plain that the citizenship clause was really designed to deal with the issue of recently freed slaves and their children, to regularize their status under American law. It had nothing to do with what we would call transient foreign nationals, transient individuals who were passing through the United States, either on short-term labor visas or who would enter the country illegally, which to be honest, I think a lot of folks pointed out, there really was no notion of illegal entry or illegal aliens entering our economy or entering our society in the 19th century. So I think all the source documents all indicate really that there's really only one intelligible outcome here. But as far as the argument itself, I'm hesitant to sort of forecast the doom and gloom, which is my natural disposition. I will say the questions that were being asked by a number of the Republican-appointed justices, in particular, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch Barrett, and Roberts, they're not hopeful. And I think, obviously, I think the chief is really disinclined, Chief Justice Roberts is disinclined to read into the 14th Amendment, what many of us think is so obvious. And then you have Justice Gorsuch who seemed to think that Wong Kim Ark, a case from the 19th century that dealt with Chinese nationals who were under short-term visas here and had a child, that that case controls, but not in the way that most people read that case, that actually its outcome would suggest that the children of illegal aliens could have status. And that leaves you Justice Barrett and Justice Kavanaugh. Justice Barrett asked a lot of sort of technical administrability questions. What do you do with foundlings? Those are children that are left at someone's doorstep or orphanages whose parents are unknown. What do you do with stateless individuals who show up in our international airports? And all those kind of practical administrability questions seem to suggest that she thinks there's a reliance interest here that cannot be disturbed. And then Justice Kavanaugh was sort of all over the map. Now, obviously, the three liberal justices went into this argument. They're already hardwired, totally hard-baked, as being opposed to this. And so I think, look, we're looking at probably a 7-2, maybe at best, a 6-3 outcome. That doesn't sound good. That doesn't sound good. This seems kind of existential to me. So lastly, if we do get an outcome like that, where should the political pressure go to? It sounds like we might need a constitutional amendment to clarify all of this if we really wanted to go for the gold. Where should our political pressure go? Yeah, I mean, two things. And it ties right back into our previous conversation about Representative Salazar, Representative Lawler, and these other folks who are designing this mass amnesty Trojan horse, which is Republicans in Congress could be working diligently on a statutory fix. There's room for Congress to weigh in on what the meaning of the 14th Amendment is. Number one, and number two, it may be actually time to take up this idea of amending the Constitution. And I raised this previously a couple of weeks ago, and a lot of folks said, oh, I'll never get the Constitution amendment. The bar is too high, and liberal states are opposed to this. And I honestly think that if you really wanted to knit together some of the best parts of the America First movement with sort of that boomer-oriented Tea Party 2010 moment, it's to get the American citizen animated by the idea that there are liberal justices, some of whom were appointed by Republican presidents, and there are do-nothing members of Congress who want to prevent solutions to an obvious existential problem, like the ability of high-ranking members of the CCP to come to places like Hawaii or the CNMI, have children, and then get a passport and a US visa, right? So if you wanna address that, get out, turn out the vote, and amend the Constitution. I think actually it would be a great exercise in energizing the American people to take control of their own government. And I think that may be the only, the only silver bullet we have left. Yes, and it also could be electoral fuel to help for everything else down ballot. I mean, this is why Democrats routinely put weed referendums on ballots, just to get people to turn up, so they can get more power. That's it, just you gotta think about these tactics. Theo Wald, thank you very much. Great to have you with us today, appreciate you. Thanks for having me, it's good to be with you. Excellent, thank you, Theo. There's Theo Wald, a great rundown of everything we got going on right now. Just madness, it really does matter to our country how a US citizen is created. I happen to think it's just be just America citizens who give birth to America citizens, and then we naturalize when we feel like it. We're like, you know what, you can become a citizen. We're very selective in that. I don't think that legal immigrants, as nice as you are if you're illegal, that's fine. But you're not an American citizen, so why should your kid become an American citizen? And especially illegal aliens, what? You just pour into our country, have a baby, and now you've got an American citizen? That doesn't make any sense to me. If we're gonna protect this country, we have to protect the way we have new American citizens, obviously. Let me get to Iran now with you. JD Vance just wrapped up a big round of negotiations directly with the Iranians in Islamabad, and he walked out, he announced after 20 hours, no deal. Cut seven, here's the vice president of the United States. We have been at it now for 21 hours, and we've had a number of substantive discussions with the Iranians, that's the good news. The bad news is that we have not reached an agreement, and I think that's bad news for Iran, much more than it's bad news for the United States of America. So we go back to the United States having not come to an agreement. We've made very clear what our red lines are, what things we're willing to accommodate them on, and what things we're not willing to accommodate them on, and we've made that as clear as we possibly could, and they have chosen not to accept our terms. They've chosen not to accept our terms. So where do we go from here? Where do we go from here? Well, the president of the United States shares some messages on Truth Social yesterday, saying that, well, that's it, Iran refuses to back off of its nuclear ambitions, so we're gonna have to take things to the next level. Now, as you know, right now a ceasefire is in effect going through, I believe, next week. So that's the plan at the moment. Negotiations, the hope of negotiations continues to be somewhat alive, but in the meantime, the president has announced that he will be issuing, starting a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, beginning at 10 a.m. Eastern time today. So by the time you hear of this podcast, if you're listening to it on delay, it may very well have already begun. 10 o'clock a.m. Eastern time, the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz begins. Here's the president announcing this last night. Cut for it, watch. I would say it's holding well. Their military is destroyed. Their whole navy is underwater. You know that 158 ships are gone. Their navy's gone. Most of their mine droppers are gone. We have a lot of people, as you know, at 10 o'clock tomorrow, we have a blockade going into effect. That'll be 10 o'clock tomorrow. Other nations are working so that Iran will not be able to sell oil. And that would be very effective. But what we wanna do is, and again, we don't need it. What we notice and what we see and what I think is maybe my idea, maybe not, I don't know. But there are many boats heading toward our country to fill up with oil and then go and take it. So they're not gonna go through the Hormuz Strait. And ultimately that'll be corrected. But in the meantime, they're using us. We have more oil because of drill baby drill. We have more oil than Russia. And Saudi Arabia put together. So if you look at Russia and Saudi Arabia, two big ones, we have much more oil than they have put together. And what's happening is boats are coming over here, filling up, we don't have to go through the Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz. Now, I wanna get into some of the specifics here. One, this is going to increase the leverage that the United States has over Iran in order to get a deal. And here's how. Remind you of the big numbers, 40% of China's oil and natural gas comes through the Strait of Hormuz. It's a lot. 50% of India's crude oil and 90% of their liquefied petroleum gas, their LPG, comes through the Strait of Hormuz. There's a massive amount of energy on the line. These countries will be desperate to get the Strait of Hormuz fully and freely open. This will increase the chances that they place pressure on Iran to come to a deal. Remember, the fact that we even got to a negotiation phase included China pressuring Iran to sit down with the United States. The White House confirmed that China did get involved. So there's gonna be a lot more pressure on Iran now from a lot of different angles in order to get a deal here. Another piece of this, what does this blockade look like? What are they actually blockading? Is the whole Strait of Hormuz gonna be shut down? No ships are gonna move through the Strait of Hormuz? No, that's not what this is. Central Command announced in its details that they're going to be enforcing this blockade on Iran specifically. It'll be enforced impartially, meaning it doesn't matter what ship you are or who you're with, against vessels of all nations entering or departing Iranian ports and coastal areas. Central Command has added that the United States will not impede freedom of navigation for vessels who are transiting the Strait of Hormuz to and from non-Iranian ports. So it's specifically for Iranian ports. Any ship that wants to go or leave to and from Iran, you can't do it. Now with the United States Navy there having this blockade starting at 10 a.m. Eastern this morning. So this is the president's latest effort to try and bring this thing to a resolution and just keep your eyes on that. Now, why didn't they get a deal? What was the shortcoming of the deal? Well, the president said the most important thing is nuclear and we didn't get there on the important issue. There was a lot of progress made, but fundamentally at the end, the Iranians didn't wanna give up their nuclear ambitions so we don't have a deal. Cut five, here's President Trump explaining to Maria Bartiromo how it went down. We're going to be blockading. It'll take a little while, but it'll be effective pretty soon. And we had meetings yesterday. As you said, lasted 21 hours. That was a long meeting. We had some very, very good representatives, as you know, JD and Steve and Jared. So we were well represented, but we didn't get there on the important issue. They wanna have nuclear weapons. They're not gonna have nuclear weapons. I've been saying that for 30 years. I would never allow that to happen before I was in politics. And that country will not have nuclear weapons. Most countries shouldn't be allowed to have, but that country will not have nuclear weapons. So Mr. President, was that the red line there? Can you explain to us what went on in these talks? What did the United States ask of Iran and how did they react? Well, they reacted. It was very interesting. It started off weak. They came in like they had the cars, but they don't have the cars. Their army, their whole military is obliterated. The whole place is obliterated. And as you know, levels of leaders are gone. They're literally gone. Committees gone, the whole thing is gone. The whole place is gone. They have one thing that they can do. They can say, well, gee, we're gonna put a mine someplace in the, just a mine. We'll drop one mine, two mines, 10 mines. And that will, if you have a ship that costs a billion dollars, you'll say, well, you know, I'd prefer not getting whacked by a mine than losing my ship or damaging it badly, at least. And so that's a little bit of a thing that they could do with it. Military might and military power don't do it, but you know, it's extortion. And they're extorting the world. You know, we don't get our oil from there. We have so much oil. We have, and one thing you said, I don't know if anybody heard it well, but we have votes pouring up to the United States. They'll be filling them up and they'll be leaving and they're gonna be packed with the best oil you can get. The best oil you can get, right from the United States of America. But the president said, fundamentally it came down to nuclear. You know, it doesn't matter how much progress we made on all these other points. You know, Iran's looking for sanctions relief. They want access to money again. Your future could be very bright. Just do the one thing that the president is asking for. Give up the nuclear ambition. Give that up. The rest is done. The rest is done. You ready for that? No? Okay, we'll keep playing this game until you are. The blockade begins 10 a.m. Eastern this morning. May it work.
